Tops is a local staple in the Buffalo area. Theyve been around as long as I can remember, and its really great to have the opportunity to go to a number of Tops stores throughout the 716. The prices are very good on most items, and the price on more luxury items is absolutely affordable. All of the possible departments you can want are there, and there are a few other things that you can get at a Tops International that might be a little difficult to get at other stores. They do not have a dedicated cheese shop with fancy imported cheese like the other major chain in the area does, but its OK. I actually dont mind going to multiple stores to get everything I need.
Friendly environment, well stocked and the coupons are very helpful. Gas points really make a difference. Down side is the bottle returns. Not just at this one, I drove to another Tops 18 miles away and their bottle returns were broken also. Wish I could get the gas I spent driving around back. I could of gone to another competitor, but Ive shopped at tops since I could remember when I was just a little kid. Its like a family to me.
The store is very clean. The displays are nicely laid out. Great sales and the shelves are usually stocked.I have to take one star. The employees are not the friendliest and there have been several times they are either so deep into their cell phones or in personal conversation with other employees, that I find myself standing there waiting for them to do their jobs.
Tops in McKinley should really give Harry an education on cashing. Associate literally put food in paper bags even though we had our own and charged us a nickle for bags we did not want. The guy was nice but needs to learn a thing or to. He also just put food in the cart outside of bags. Retraining clearly needs to be done.
Needed to stock up on some needed supplies before the winter storm hit. I was extremely impressed with the way the staff handled the inflow of customers. The parking lot was full, all of the carts and baskets were being used. Every check out lane had to be opened due to the amount of customers cashing out. (approx 30+ customers not including self check out) The cashiers were very efficient and quick. 1/19/2019 at 5:16 p.m.
Employees are very friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked and very easy to find and locate items. They always seem to bring items to the front of the shelves. The gas points are a plus and add up quickly.
Dont go after 9 you will be wandering across the front of the store just to be able to get in. Other than that issue I like this store they always have clearance that is interesting to look at. It has a nice produce department and most of the time the customer service is good. There were a few issues with a few people but the store manager is really good at taking care of problems.
Great sale prices. Its a nice little grocery store thats not as busy as wegmans
I think friendly is just a fancy work for we dont get in your way. I have never met a friendly person. At any Tops store. Cant complain too much about the products. Its close to home and generally easy in and easy out. No other reason to go out of my way to shop there other than distance.
I was here on Sat Oct 24th at around 6:30pm. The man at the deli was very helpful and exceptionally pleasant. Its nice to see great customer service skills!
Convenient, close to my house. They have a gas station with a little store on the far end of the parking lot. Sweet to grab a slice of pizza and a 6 pack. Pharmacy always has what I need. Meal deals and other things like buy 2 get 3 free have me coming back.
Rating docked just for the food to go area. The customer service took care of me afterwards.Not paid attention to, put off for other orders (presumed online or for stock, I was the only one there) the sub was good according to my friend, but it wasnt what I ordered so I couldnt eat it (dietary restrictions) also got charged for the free bag of chips that were supposed to accompany it.
Old gas station lady cussed me out because I asked to use a mask before entering. I had just dropped mine on the dirty driveway. Had to wrap a hoodie around my face.
This store has great customer service no matter what part of the store youre in. If you need something somebody is always there to help. I have even had help from the cart associates before I go into the store they see that Im having trouble ambulating and they bring me a motorized cart. even though this store is out of the way for me sometimes this I consider my Tops Markets.
They never seem to have what Im looking for at this cop every time I go they never have what I need although I did save money on gas points so things were fine I have to give it 4 stars because Force 4 is the pump gas that I use and it wouldnt accept my card I had to go in and get change and everything else so I would like to boycott Hamburg tops but Im going to give it another chance someday Maybe great deals
Tops is my choice when Im in a hurry. The store is big enough that they have a good selection of food and other items. I can get in, purchase what I need, and be done. I choose Tops other times for the sales they have going. I really do save at Tops and who doesnt want to save money. Thanks Tops.

Love the self checkout. I understand the concept. Others around me seem to not....and Im glad Im not the attendant in charge of those registers. People cant seem to ring anything out correctly or in a pace above corpse. Just to be clear .thats slow
This Tops supermarket is well stocked and roomy. The staff and clientele are friendly and courteous. There is plenty of easy parking, a gas station, and there are traffic lights for easy in and out at both the Southwestern Blvd (Route 20) and McKinley Pkwy entrances.
My local Tops on Mckinley in Hamburg is great. Clean, well stocked aisles and helpful staff make my shopping chore a very pleasant experience. Plenty of help finding items is a real plus.I wish all Tops had the work ethic of this store.

Every Tops Market has a different format. This store, for instance, has a huge produce section, a good sized beer cave and lots of packaged meats and seafoods. It doesnt have a butchers counter with display cases, has a much smaller deli counter and a limited bakery section. You can get all the essentials and more, but some services (like meat/steaks cut to order) arent readily available. It is clean, well lit and the staff are generally helpful, but checkout always seem to be slow with few of the many registers open except at peak times. Self checkout is available for quick purchases, however. Not a bad store, by any stretch, but it seems geared more to quick shopping trips and less towards full service. Parking can also be problematic as the lot is small and the exits are all traffic controlled - peak shopping times can be a traffic nightmare.
Oh my, this is my favorite Tops. We usually go through the express checkout (not self-checkout) and Chelsea is quick, accurate and a good bagger. The people who staff the Customer Service desk are terrific! Its smaller than some Tops but it has everything we need.
No offense seafood apartment but if you know that a product is out on your shelf in a customer asked you for more product because its not there on the shelf and you give them the amount that they need but then take the rest of the box and put it back in the freezer instead of stocking the Shelf then you probably shouldnt be working there disappointing thats why I dont usually shop here
The Grocery Dept. worker told my wife and I that he would order Gold Peak Raspberry Tea for us and put it on hold for us to pick up at a later date. We can order a case of it. 12 bottles for the price of 2- 6packs. Gotta love that.
I like the sales they have,but they need more workers and they need to be Much more friendlier and courteous. Perhaps the workers at wegmans could train themI dont mean to be so negative but you can go in wegmans at anytime and their employees and very friendly and helpful.
Good produce, good deli, prices can be a bit steep, but make sure to pick up a bonus card when you can. Tops has a system worked out that involves discounts on gasoline, which is good.
Its a grocery store and good one at that. Had no problems finding what I wanted. Beer located near the entrance for those quick trips. Friendly staff that took care of a birthday cake for me.
Nice people.good price. But the person below you can get cheaper prices but u seed usually not name brands. There is a difference. You really have to go all around to get the best prices.
Compared to Wegmens this place isnt quite there, but still surprisingly nice, and not as busy as the aforementioned grocery. I would shop there for a few things but the beer selection is sparse, though you can buy singles which is nice.
Prices are to high and they dont keep their bulk section products containers clean and the products are left in containers until they are rancid. They should be checked more often and taken out immediately.
This is for Tops $10 large pizza. A large pizza for 10$ made fresh to order. They also have a sheet for $20. Yes 20$ This is current. There was a loose pepperoni I the box, I chewed it for a gud 20-30 seconds. The char the crunch the flavor; BANG. The pie in total ? The sauce was light but blended with the cheese to give it its own signature bang. The dough was a lot tho n the cheese wasnt heavy. The dough bubbled atop. But in some weird way, the bang of the sauce n cheese n the proper cup n char props, I dont kno. For 10xtax out the door its hard to complain. Unless you spend 1.10$ more.... soon on to come. But hewll ya 10$ Ill be back, n coach the pie maker next time.
Its where we do most of our shopping. Their produce could be better. Their take out is good. Love the gas points, they help out a lot.
Hamburg is better than the Derby store but Id rather shop Wegmans. Pricing and receipts are a mess at Tops. Chapter 11 is not a surprise. Service and produce are mediocre at best. Store set up: mediocre at best. Meah!

During Covid guy behind the counter with mask all down. No assembly for checkouts so everyone is forced into an awkward ball. I had to leave.
I dont like shopping at Tops late in the evening. Out of security concerns they line up shopping carts to create a barricade to funnel all foot traffic through the cashier check out lines. It is not a very inviting setting. Welcome to Tops - we dont trust you...

Selection is lacking. The local stores seem to be charging more and more every time I go. I consider tops a plus sized convenient store compared to an actual grocery store.
The prices are very high. You can buy the same quality food for way less at Aldis. If ppl went online and compared the price differences they would be shocked!
I like this Tops. Theres even a gas station at this one. I find that here Im in and out fast. Theres a Citizens bank there also and customer service is friendly! Its clean!
Almost always has what I need, but they use the discount pricing facade to make you think you are getting great savings when you are getting way over priced if you dont buy using the bonus card or thier Deals.
Prices are good if you have time to look for deals. Store is very disorganized and messy. Staff is helpful if you ask right person.

Tops has gas points which is my fave for shopping there. The one on S.Park in Hamburg has a pharmacy while the one on McKinley Pkwy. does not. Both have a gas station.
A full grocery store with the ease of a small store. Its easy to get around and find what you need, and the best part is its never busy which makes getting through the entire store a snap.

I like this Tops because it is not too busy no matter what time I come here. Easy accessible via South Western Blvd, Mc Kinley Pkwy, Big Tree Rd, or 20A. Also close to other stores that I shop at in this plaza.

I shop the Tops market on South Park Avenue in Hamburg. I love their new shopping carts. I cant believe how quiet they are.
Easy to find, not a ton of parking if its busy. A small plaza on a busy intersection but multiple ways in and out make it an easy destination to get to.
Just MEH...not good not bad. Customer service, selection, cleanliness, prices all just so-so. Prefer Wegmans, TOPS just doesnt have it anymore.

Theyre open 24 hours. Its a much smaller tops than most, so theyre variety isnt as great as others. Theres a Tim Hortons in the parking lot
Services are OK but cutting pensions and rewarding management with huge bonuses is NOT something the local community will support.
Too expensive for weekly shopping unless you arm yourzelf with COUPONS for the gas points deals. I prefer ALDI & SAVE A LOT .

Ridiculously over priced. Re-arranged in a way that makes ZERO sense, now. Have to walk all the way to the back of the store for an overpriced gallon of milk. I only go here when Im desperate and everyone else is closed.

2022-06-16The appetizer trays I ordered were delicious. I have to say every one raved about the cake and cookie trays. They couldn’t believe my mom Renee Toy got them from Tops. A special Thank you to the manager on duty ( bowling guy) that made sure my order was completed.Everything was ready for pick up! Extremely impressed! Thank You for making my graduation party!

2022-03-26Ive been shopping at this tops location for at least 20 years. Ive never met a more kind, knowledgeable & helpful employee. His name is Brian. Unsure of his last name. I stop in every night during the week & again Sat evening, & Brian is ALWAYS here. At least thats how it seems. This may sound corny but I think he needs to be recognized for going above & beyond his job duties. Again this may sound corny but, I have seen so many older customers try to cash out using the self checkout & they have no clue what to do or how to use it. I have seen Brian on numerous occasions swoop in & rescue them from the monsters known as the self checkout registers. It literally almost brought a tear to my eye!!! I told you it was corny, but it was also moving & pretty awesome to see!!! So shout out to you Brian!! If only we had more people like you in this world!!! Give that guy a raise!!!

2022-05-27Poor customer service just now by a female manager possibly who knows what she was but she is awful doesnt know how to talk to customers or respond well or able to fix things! Poor customer service when I was picking up my instacart! She had no idea or understanding of what I was explaining to her kept repeating the sane thing 5 times instead of fixing the program and then threw my stuff in cart and hit me! She should not be working with customers!!!!

2022-06-17I am really disappointed in this location. I shop here all the time, so when I called and was told that they open at 5am to 1am that is what I expect.However I arrive and to my surprise a big sign on the door say not open until 6am. How upsetting is this when you work and need to take care of things around your work schedule. HUGE disappointment HUGE.As a business you all need to be on 1 accord people 1 accord.

2022-06-04I have come in to the service desk on Saturday morning after 10 am to find it closed, today I came in at 3:58 and was told the service desk was closed because the worker was going to lunch. Customer service is terrible at the McKinley store

2022-05-22I went to this location b/c it’s close to my home. The associate that was working in the deli was very rude. He walked by the counter 3 times where there was 3 of us standing , when he did come to the counter he stated we needed to speak up he didn’t see us. Shouldn’t he be the one to see us?!

2021-12-03I left my wallet at home while I was at work. I didn’t realize I left it home until I was in line with a bag of donuts. I walked up to one of the Tops employees working at the time “Karen”. I told her what happened and that I needed to return the donuts. Without hesitation she walks me right up to the cashier and pays for the donuts OUT OF POCKET…. Total class and the donuts were amazing! Thanks Karen, Merry Christmas and happy holidays! You’re the best

2021-10-04I recently had a very nice experience at your store from one of your employees. Sharleen went out of her way to help me out with my grocery order!! I was having some difficulty and she recognized me struggling with my order and came and helped me out. The following week I was shopping again and she stopped what she was doing and came and said hello it’s nice to see that there are still employees that take pride in their jobs and provide great customer service, I will continue to shop there knowing employees like Sharleen make my grocery shopping experience so much better. Thanks again for going the extra distance for me!!!
