Our furnace stopped working and Total Comfort was able to get it back up and running! It was a quick fix and the service tech, Dave, was super helpful.
Used these guys last year to replace my central air unit and again this year for some AC pipe repairs. Both times they were extremely professional and showed up on time. Insulation was p|laced in areas of house where there was none. Furnace was cleaned. Halo- Led whole home Air Purification was installed.I received a new energy efficient refrigerator, new exhaust duct work from dyer was installed . These guys were able to start replacing my central AC and furnace the day after I received the quote. Other companies were quoting me 1 to 3-4 weeks. The installers were knowlegeble and fast. They were able to get the whole thing installed in 1 1/2 days.

Had an appointment set up today 7/12 @ 2pm to clean out the furnace and fireplace. Gentleman calls my wife (while at work) and leaves a voice-mail asking if it was OK to come early. She made the appointment to go around our childs nap schedule, along with our healing dogs schedule from surgery. Guy said he took another client before us and assured us would be right around 2pm or a little after. Never showed and I closed the front door. Terrible communication and would NEVER use this company again. Very unprofessional!
These guys were amazing. They came out on one of the hottest days, quickly diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in about an hour; the price was very reasonable and much less than I expected. They were very professional and friendly and explained everything each step of the way. I will definitely be using these guys for all my Heating and AC needs!
With so many HVACs in the area I was looking for a company that had high ratings. Total Comfort H/A consistently had 5 star ratings and now I know why. Extremely professional. Super friendly. Total Comfort installed a new central air system in my home. Ken the owner stopped by to give me a quote that I was more than pleased with. He was able to schedule the install for the following week and his crew was professional and did an excellent job. July 2018: These guys are fantastic! From actual work done, explaining what was done, clean up and right down to overall friendliness of the techs. Weve had a lot of work done on the house in the last 3 weeks, by several different companies, but this company was the best! What a pleasure it was. Definitely recommend as a 5 plus star rating.March 2021: I liked their work so much on my moms house 2 years ago, (see previous post), I used them myself for installation of new furnace and water heater. They came out from Greece, NY to Canandaigua, NY where I live. They were over $3,000 LESS than another estimate I had, and with a better brand furnace. Work is impeccable once again. I had a New York state energy audit. They found I needed insulation in my attic and basement. I needed a new hot water tank and it had to be vented out properly. They looked for all the areas where my house was deficient in energy and where they could help repair and replace things. I got new smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and long lasting energy efficient light bulbs. They were a godsend. They were professional, on time, polite and such a pleasure to have in my home.
Great experience as always. Total comfort has cleaned and serviced my furnace and now my A/C unit to keep in good working order. I also had work done with them through NYSERDA and got added insulation. I had to have someone come out to look in my attic for what I thought was an animal. Luckily, no animal but the contractor said that my attic with the blown in insulation was the best he’s ever seen.Highly recommended Total Comfort. Everyone is great, especially Pam.
Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning do excellent work. The furnace stopped working on Saturday night. The owner Ken came out on Sunday to look at the furnace. He said it needed a new thermostat wire, and he could install the wire. He did an amazing job.
They did my furnace, AC, water heater all in one in a quick and professional way. They were so courteous and easy to talk to. They even answered my inane questions with simple and direct answers. 10/10 would call again.
I enjoyed everything about total comfort from beginning to end. I called on a Saturday and someone was available! They are super prompt. Our A/C unit stopped working mid-day on Wednesday. We contacted Total Comforts customer service department. They advised us that we would receive a return call within 30 minutes. Approximately 20 minutes later, we were contacted and we were provided with an appointment for 10 AM the next day.Ken arrived at our house at 9 AM on Thursday.. Within one-half hour, he found and corrected the problem. What great customer service they provide. We are so pleased that we choose Total Comfort to replace our furnace and A/C unit.
The Total Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning Service Technician came to check and service my furnace. In all the years that Ive had services done, even in my prior home, I have never seen such service. The Tech. was way beyond meticulous in cleaning and servicing my furnace. He was Awesome! I hired Total Comfort to clean the ducts in my fathers house. They did an amazing job! The extra time they put in to fix some gas leaks that they found and remove insulation that had fallen into the cold air return. They probably spent an extra 2 hours going above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Kudos to your employees for making your company look great.
We have now had Total Comfort perform over 50 furnace inspections and install four new furnaces for our management company. We have yet to have a bad experience! Dave was the gentlemen that came out to diagnose the issue. I had replaced a few parts over the years and couldn’t figure out what was causing the most recent issue. Our furnace is over 25 years old now and certainly needs replaced. Dave was very thorough and found that part of the gas valve was not functioning properly. After wiggling the connector around and pinning it in a spot that was responsive I decided to use it like this until we absolutely decide to replace the unit. He was completely supportive and gave me all the information for when we decide to replace the unit
Being new to homeownership, I had many questions for the tech that serviced our furnace and AC. He was more than happy to answer all of my questions and give me a crash course in the features of my system. He showed me all of the measurements he took and explained what they meant. I am extremely grateful for his patience and time with me and will definitely call Total Comfort in the future.
Returned home from 6 months away. Within two weeks I needed a repair to my water heater, pilot reignite of my gas fireplace and repair to my air conditioner! During the hottest week of 90 degree+ weather in Rochester, NY our air conditioning unit decided to stop working. I am genuinely amazed at the excellent service I just received from Total Comfort. I had a furnace issue in the dead of winter, my house was cooling down quickly, and a couple hours later Im back up and running. The response was fast and friendly, the service was thorough and clearly conducted by an expert, he helped me understand exactly what was happening (I saw for myself) and how it will be fixed, and I can honestly say I completely trust the advice I received because he clearly knew precisely what he was talking about. Never mind that they were the lowest price quote I received among several local businesses, but with the service I received tonight, I am now a customer for life! In March 2017 we purchased a house in Hilton. We now have two homes but the Hilton home will become our primary home in the future. My wife and I are both in our 80’s and the likelihood is that my wife will be alone in Hilton for some time in the future. While our furnace, AC and hot water were working fine, the AC and the furnace were 18 years old. Since we can now replace these we decided to do so now rather than burden my wife with a failing unit in the future. We started with our furnace. After contacting several companies we signed on with Ken Kalke of Total Comfort.We signed on with Ken because he gave us a good deal, as did others, and he also could offer a strong manufacturer’s warranty. But most important we did so because we liked and trusted Ken and felt he was very sincere about caring about his company and his work.Our furnace is now in and working well. We had a minor glitch after the install and Ken came up and spent time to fix it and he did. We feel we have a good unit and we have a fine company. If all goes as we expect, then we are ready to replace our AC, Total Comfort will do it.

Respected my home, not one thing out of place or left behind after they left- could not even tell they had been there! They took time to explain the new equipment and thermostat. They invited questions. Service after the sale is a huge part of satisfaction, so I will be watching.
Ken is amazing. Hes an honest business man. Hell walk you through the process to ensure you understand the contract work at hand. What I appreciate the most, Ken came back to my house days later to inspect the work of his crew. In doing so, he found some minor things he will have his crew address. Thats good business!!!!!! Not to mentioned the crewmen were very respectful of my house/space, taking shoes off etc. I highly recommend Total Comfort! Home Depots estimate cost more for a less impressive unit.

Since Ive used Total Comfort for my energy audit; Ive used them now for a minor issue with my furnace. I have called the company who put the furnace in and they didnt call me back so I reach out to Total Comfort to which got back to me right away then came to my house within a couple hours time assess the issue and fix it. If anyone who is looking for an honest, friendly, and prompt on time with heating or cooling Total Comfort is who I recommend.

Very happy with the whole experience. I was contacted quickly for the home audit by Pam and was contacted 1 week after submitting the paperwork to set up a date for the audit. About another week later they contacted me to let me know the results and set up dates for the crew to start doing the work. I was approved for a good amount of stuff, over 6k in work. They divided the work in 4 parts. By the second appt., Ken came and checked out my furnace, he said it needed to be replaced. I couldnt afford one and he advised me of a program that could help. Turns out I ended up getting it replaced for free also. All the guys that came were friendly and gave me information on what they were doing. I had a small issue because they came to insulate my attic and it was not explained to me how they would do it before hand to see if I agreed. Comes out being they were gonna do a full blow, which meant I would not be able to use my attic for anything because it would all have about a foot of cellulose on the ground. I was a little upset at that, because I use my attic for storage. The worker offered to leave a 10x12 area without so I could use as storage and my husband agreed. It took me a while to get over that. Bit Im already happy with it, my house feels warmer already. My furnace has been installed, the crew was very knowledgeable and explained everything in regards to the new parts and what they did. So I do give them a 5star rating because they are proffesional, friendly, helpful and get to everything quick. Thanks to Pam and Ken, I had an awesome experience.
I first learned about Total Comfort a year ago when my old furnace wouldnt turn on one morning during the winter. Im what you call a do it yourself person, so I researched the problem & decided it could be the igniter needed to be clean. Once I took off the door of my furnace, I decided it was way to much work to reach the igniter, decided to call in the professionals. I read many Heating & Cooling reviews & decided to give Total Comfort a try. I called & they placed my on the schedule immediately, the sent a young man name Chris to my home, he analyzed the problem & it was the igniter need to be clean. He cleaned it & it started up immediately, he went back downstairs to but the furnace back together & something went wrong & the furnace stopped. This is when honesty & integrity comes into place, Chris said he must have done something wrong & he called is boss Ken, Ken was out of town with his family, but he stayed on the phone trying to assist Chris for hours. Unfortunately, Chris was unable to fix it with Kens assistance via phone.Once Ken returned to Rochester, he was at my home within one hour from getting off the plane & fixed my furnace, he replaced what ever need to be replaced with no charge to me.I was so impressed with the honesty & integrity of Total Comfort. that I have went on to have them insulate my home in 2019. Perform energy testing for free.As of 2020, Total Comfort installed a New Energy Efficient Amana Furnace in my home & a Energy Efficient Hot Water Tank. They did a wonderful job, cleaned up & took the time to explain the new furnace & hot water tank. Im very detail oriented about thing & they took the time to make sure I was happy with the install. They processed the warranties needed for the furnace. The Total Comfort group- Ken, Rogene, Adam & Brian did a wonderful job & I would recommend Total Comfort to anyone whose looking for a good honest company with integrity.Thanks Guys
I was caught with a C/A unit that wouldnt power on during the sudden heat wave we had in May 2020. Total Comfort was willing to come out within 24 hours to get me working again. Less than an hour onsite and my C/A was working. Ken is very professional with a mask for COVID and sanitary slippers to protect floors. He talked about the unit and answered all of my questions before leaving. Total Comfort has all of my HVAC business now. Highly recommended.
Purchased Amana high efficiency furnace from Total Comfort in Feb. Installation was a breeze, and our house quickly warmed up. We noticed this fall that the house seemed to stop heating up. Ken dispatched and quickly surmised that a spider had taken up residence in our units drain pipe. In about one hour, our house was warm again. We definitely appreciate Total Comforts support of their product!

I highly recommend Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning after an awesome experience during a snowstorm that pushed temperatures down into the negative digits. As things go, our 20 year old furnace stopped working; brrrrrrrrrrrr in the middle of the storm. I first tried to call the larger companies in Town and experienced unreliable response times and technicians who were not concerned about our plight; it was my perception that they were more interested in their cell phones and other calls than the troubles at our house. After two different technicians without a repair, I decided to reach out to Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning on the recommendation from a good friend. From the very first conversation with Ro, the companies Executive Assistant, I had a very good feeling. Ro assured me that they would get to the bottom of the problem. She told me that she would contact the owner and call me back. She asked for the model number of my furnace. Shortly after that, I received a call from Ro telling me that the owner of the company Ken Kalke was in route to my house to check on the problem. She said that Ken had parts for my furnace with him. After four days without heat, Ken came into the house, repaired the furnace in 20 minutes and diagnosed two serious problems with the furnace; a cracked heat exchange module and an inducer with bad bearings. I decided to stick with the crisis repair, the igniter module and figured that repair would get us through until we could plan for a total furnace and air conditioner replacement. The decision was based on the cost of replacing the inducer and heat exchange module. After having heat for about 45 minutes, the inducer stopped, grinding the furnace to a halt. I immediately called Ken on the cell number he gave me and he worked out a plan to provide us with quotes on a replacement system. That night, Ken did what he said providing us with two quality options; both including rebates. After we made our selection, Ken assured us that he would have the system replaced ASAP. He did this. His three man crew responded quickly and during another snowstorm, replaced both the furnace and air conditioning unit in less than 5 hours. The crew was on time, professional and extremely skilled at their craft. They really seemed like they cared and every step of the way, kept me and my wife in the loop on what they were doing. One of the technicians even gave me his personal cell to call if we had any issues or problems and wanted to contact someone after hours. After the crew left, and the heat was back on, Ken inquired about the service and quality of work that was done. I passed on my sincere thanks to he and his crew and Ro. A bit later, Ro contacted us and asked if we were happy. Unbelievable!!!!!!I am very happy with Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning and would not hesitate to highly recommend them for all heating and air conditioning needs for anyone. We will be customers for life with this company… almost forgot, Ken saved us over $1,000.00 in rebates and refunds. On occasion Ill get a random text saying he will call after dealing with a job and never hear anything. I call a few days or even week later to give time and still nothing. Sooo, in the grand scheme of things I would say the initial meet and greet and getting things going may be good but dont bother calling that number thats left near your system for any routine check or follow up. Because so far that wont happen....But after a year or so he had no problem calling up and confirming information for money to go towards some warranty of sort, 🤔!!
We called Total Comfort for a duct cleaning in our new home. The house was built around 1915 and the ducts were disgusting. The guys showed up, explained what they would be doing, and completed the job in a very professional way. The price was great which was so helpful with all the expenses that come with buying an old home. They included a furnace inspection as well.
We have used them for our own central air and were so pleased that we continue to refer them to others. Last night I had to ask for an urgent call for my father with a possible CO2 leak. Our A/C went out, I called the company that installed our system but they told me it would be 9 days before they could send out a technician. Total Comfort was there within an hour of our call and we were up and running 45 minutes later!
So far, the service that I have received from this company are as follows: they have replaced my dryer venting system so that venting is going outside (I was using an indoor venting system), cleaned my furnace, replaced several light bulbs, and installed a Smoke Alarm and a Carbon system. They will be installing the heating system and the thermostat sometime this month once my loan is approved.
On one of the hottest days of the month my AC decided to stop working. I called in the morning and by 11:00 and very nice man was at my home determining what was wrong. He determined what he needed, returned to the office for the part and came back to install it. The cool air returned and he took the time to explain each phase of what he did t correct the issue.
I have used Ken for all things HVAC for several years. His customer service, technical and energy credit knowledge and timeliness are second to none. With Total Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning I am not made to feel like a small fish in a much bigger pond. This has not been my experience with the larger HVAC companies in the Rochester area. They were very Professional and worked well as a Team. We had an Energy Assessment done because of very high Energy Bills.We were amazed with the results of the blower door test. They explained what had to be done to improve our Home and followed through with the corrections.We would highly recommend them.

I received a coupon for air conditioning maintenance and, since mine had not been done is several years, I called for details. I was given a decent price for a package deal that included a/c and furnace maintenance. I am a senior on a fixed income and when I looked at the budget, realized I could not afford the package. I did stop in to sign up for the a/c clean using the coupon. I was explaining to Rosgene I was on a fixed income when Ken stepped out and indicated I may qualify for some New York State programs based on income. I took the required paperwork down and they processed it; I was eligible. I had never heard of these programs and was delighted to find I could get some assistance. Ken and Rosgene were absolutely wonderful; pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. These people are beyond wonderful; I cant recommend this business highly enough!
Did a great duct cleaning job and humidifier installation. He was quite meticulous and paid close attention to detail. Also, very knowledgeable on air purification. My dust allergies feel better with the cleaning and humidifier. Would highly recommend to others!
We were getting very little heat from our furnace, called Total Comfort to make a house call to diagnose the problem. The technician (Taylor) came to our house and found the problem.They had to overnight the part which came in the following morning and we were up and running by noon. Thank you Taylor!

I noticed that my house was really warm and realized that there was something wrong with my AC. I called around 10am and by 11:30 my air was up and running and starting to cool the house. They came and made a fast assessment that the water on the floor was from a plugged PVC pipe. They replaced the “zig zag” PVC pipe with a “straight” Pipe. $250.00. Not particularly cheap but appreciated.

How does Ken Kalke sleep at night? My $16 ignitor died. After texting me that hed have no problem selling me the part, as long as I came down to his shop today (Sunday) to pick it up (and then install it myself), he added that it would be $119 + tax for the ignitor. Paris HVAC will sell me one Monday morning, when they open, for $22 + tax. Ken Kalke is a guy whos looking to take advantage of your misfortune. I have the text string to prove it. He wanted to scam an extra $100 off of me, since most people arent knowledgeable enough to know what parts cost. Beware of Ken Kalke at Total Comfort HVAC; hes looking to scam whatever money he can from you.

2022-03-19Total Comfort is the absolute best. They arrived weeks before everyone else could, in fact, within 24 hours! They educated me and made some repairs on gas lines while I made the decision to replace my furnace, AC, and tankless water heater. They helped me with financing and even a grant. Installation was perfect; they even came back to cut a stone that was under the AC unit. I couldnt be happier. Also recommended to a friend who they also helped with a repair the same day, others were a week or two out. For a furnace in the middle of winter! I used them previously, and they educated me and saved me thousands! Truly the best!

2022-07-26Appointment for new furnace quote on July 13th @10am-called Pam around 11 and she said maybe in half hour-Kenneth Kalke and sidekick arrived close to 2 pm. Ran to the basement, snapped some pictures..did not check heat runs, square footage of home, nothing but assured us we would get quote the next day. To date, heard nothing. 2022-01-27I had called about 10 places before calling Total Comfort. Nobody else was able to come the same day. The other heating company that we would normally use, said it would be next Tuesday and today was Thursday. Furnace was making a banging noise. When calling, I stressed that we are looking for service today. We can’t be without heat as my 83 year old mom lives with me. She said they would be here today and couldn’t promise a time. I had doubts that I would get a call. After lunch, Dave called and was on his way. He was awesome, very friendly and professional. I will keep their number on hand just in case we need them.
