Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in other cities:
He’s a great doctor and a great surgeon…very down to earth and relatable ….didn’t b.s. me educated me on my progress ,injury, and options …every step and made sure I was informed enough to make the best decision for my health, future, and quality of life….a true pleasure every step of the way …highly recommend….surgery was performed great and with his help and the therapy located in the same building …under his guidance I’m recovering ahead of schedule …this guy is a beast🔥🔥💪🏽
Dr. Brett Spain is by far the most thorough and dedicated Orthopedic I have ever met. He always takes the time to throughly explain treatment options, next steps, medicines prescribed, etc. I highly recommend Dr. Spain in both the Massapequa and Syosset areas. He is truly top notch!
Drs. McCormick and Morrison are pleasant, capable and knowledgeable doctors. My biggest issue with Total Orthopedics is a total disregard for appointment times. Make an appointment but consider yourself lucky if you are seen anywhere close to your appointment time... which can often be an hour or MORE later than your appointment time. I once waited 1 1/2 hours after my appointment time just to be checked in to be seen! I try to make the earliest appointment to deal with this. Recently I had a 9:15am appt (the second appointment slot of be the day) and finally saw the doctor at 10:10! It really screwed up my day and caused me to miss other commitments I had. This is inconsiderate and shows lack of respect for patients. I can understand that emergency situations come up, but EVERY TIME? And if that is so, appointments should be better scheduled to allow for this. I doubt that will happen because God forbid Total Orthopedics risks having any dead time between patients. But they obviously feel its ok to disregard the patients time schedules. Better to pack in the patients and let them wait then have dead time than risk losing money Then more than once I have made an appointment weeks in advance, only to get a call back at a later time telling me they had to reschedule. This happens with more than one doctor there! Overall, the front desk assistants are helpful, but there was one who was downright rude and nasty. I only wish this company would care enough to address this issue for their patients. I offer this critique in a constructive way with the goal of making things better all around. Every time I go, I leave with the thought of finding a new place, but havent done it yet. Curious if Total Orthopedics will care enough to respond to my complaints.
I was recommended by City MD Urgent Care to go see an orthopedist. They take walk-in patients and I was able to go right over. I walked in an was greeted by very friendly office staff. I did not wait more than 15 minutes and I was called in to see the PA Lynn. She was amazing. She thoroughly examined my shoulder and explained exactly what she was looking for. The x rays didn’t show anything and she ordered an MRI. At 9 o clock the following morning I received a call from the office, they received authorization for the MRI from my insurance company and I then made an appointment for tomorrow! The follow up has been great and the entire staff is friendly and compassionate
Rachelle Converso, PA was amazing!!! She took the time to evaluate my situation. She explained the best course of action so I understood completely. Rachelle was also very sweet & very professional. I find that all the staff & physicians are amazing. I highly recommend Total Orthopedics. I refer friends & family there when asked if I know a good orthopedist. Thank you Rachelle 👍🏼👍🏼
Total orthopedics walk-in clinic was wonderful from the moment I stepped in the door. They were warm and welcoming and knew exactly how to work with my 5 year old. The PA, Matthew was calm and took his time reviewing what was needed and his recommendations. He made sure we understood everything and had a great rapport with my child. I would recommend this clinic in a heartbeat.
The people at the massapequa office was very rude and unprofessional.not concerned with the patient well being or health situation. No I would never go back to this place of business or would I recommend a patient. They run the place as if it was a General Motors assembly line. Then not showing patience and compassion for someone who is not in the best of health
My first visit ! Glad I came ! Thought it was organized and clean. They had plenty of sanitation, all the employees and patients wore masks. After you sign in and they have your cell number you can go outside to wait if you prefer & they will call you. It makes the wait go much faster.Doctor was very nice, X-ray tech very nice , front desk also pleasant , I had no problems at this establishment….
I had a work injury that I needed evaluated & treated. I was very pleased with the care that I received at the Massapequa location. Being able to have everything done on the premises is wonderful! I needed X-rays as well as an MRI. I expected to endure long wait times due to how busy the office was but I was wrong. I never waited more than 10-15 minutes.Dr. Dengenis was excellent!! He was professional, knowledgeable, efficient and extremely nice!!
I have had such a good experience when dealing with total orthopedics and sports medicine in Massapequa Park. Their front staff and medical staff are very courteous and professional. They are always fully staffed so its very easy to get someone to speak with if you have a question. My personal experience with Dr Brett Spain was amazing! He was so courteous and patient with me throughout a tough ordeal. I highly recommend him and this facility!!
I’ve always had a good experience at Total Orthopedics. The check-in is efficient. The waiting time to see the Dr. or PA that you’ve come to see is always reasonable. The entire staff is patient and courteous. At my most recent visit, I saw a PA named Lynn. She was very knowledgable and professional , and got to the problem and the treatment very quickly.
When I first arrived the waiting room was packed and the exam rooms were as well. My wait time was about 1 hour and that was just to get into an exam room. A tech took my info and I waited for a PA another 25 minutes. The PA was super nice, patience and helpful. I was sent to xray after being examined. The xray tech was also patient and kind. I returned to the exam room and the PA gave me my diagnosis and therapy script and I was on my way. The receptionist was very nice and helpful as well. Then off to the therapy side to make an appointment however the person making my appt was in fact not pleasant and stated a date and time hoping I would say ok to it just to get me out of there. By the time I got out 2hrs had passed. Although inconvenient it was necessary.I give ALL of the staff props for their patience and for keeping it together...BRAVO!!!
We have used total orthopedics several times and we’ve never been overly impressed until now. I took my fiancé here the other night for a spiral fracture of his finger that had happened 3 weeks prior(he was out of the country for work). Lynn Keppel, PA-C was absolutely wonderful. She spent a lot of time working on his finger and you can tell she really cares about her work. We were so blessed to have her covering the urgent care that night. I can not recommend her more. Her bedside manner is impeccable, she’s honest and kind. As a pediatrics emergency room nurse I truly appreciated her approach. This our go to place for all orthopedic needs!
Absolutely perfect! Few words can describe the anxiety a parent can experience when their child gets hurt. At Total Orthopedics, everybody we encountered understood immediately. From the front desk to the x-ray tech to the P.A., everybody was very professional and made my daughter a priority. They took us as a Walk-In and got to us within minutes. Thank you! Highly recommended!
Visiting Total Orthopedics was one of the best medical experiences Ive ever had. From the personnel at the walk-in clinic to the staff at Dr. Ks office to Dr. K himself, everyone was kind and helpful. The listened to my questions and answered in a non-condescending way. I can not recommend this place enough.
At Age 72, You can imagine I have had the pleasure and displeasure of interacting with a number of physicians… Being a therapist, of thirty years it doesn’t take long to get a read on people, including physicians and they’re passion for their particular discipline and More importantly their Genuine concern regarding the issues that caused You to seek them out in the first place….Meeting, and being evaluated by this Brilliant and empathetic Man, who Also happens to be an orthopedic surgeon. You just simply Know within moments of meeting Him, You’re in the Right place….. I understand Fully why one of my BEST Friends referred me to Dr. McCormick who replaced a hip for my Friend…. Personally, I don’t think You’ll find a Better Physician in any Field who could care More for his patients, treating them as people, having a Natural Bed side manor, delivered in layman’s terms. I’ve been seeing my PCP for thirty years. I’m speaking of a Doctor who Actually visited me in the hospital to verify my care….I write this , because I have the exact same acumen when it comes to Dr. McCormick…. If You’re in need of an Orthopedic Surgeon. Don’t hesitate, don’t pass Go!!!! Just Get Up and make Your appointment…. You Will Pleasantly Surprised….FZS
Very impressed with the level of care. I was in a car accident the night before and Dr. Spain upon hearing this was able to squeeze me in for an appointment immediately. They then were able to get me in for an MRI not even an hour later. Staff were all very courteous, and helpful in processing all the paperwork and getting records from the hospital. Made a very difficult situation as easy as they could for me, thank you all.
Total Orthopedics offers amazing medical service. Also it is worth it to say that the staff members are very cordial and respectful. When they attended me they made me feel as if I were part of the family. Also the medical services I received we’re very helpful to me. I would definitely recommend it to people. Doctor Dangennis resolved the issue I had with my left shoulder. I am very thankful to them for their help.
I recently went to Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine with an issue with my back on the advice of my daughter who had previously gone there, and was very impressed with my visit there. It was very easy to check in with the kiosks they have, and had a minimal wait in the very clean waiting room, sitting socially distant, of course. Once I was directed to the examination room, the assistant was very thorough and pleasant with asking me all the appropriate questions, getting a good background of my history and how my injury occurred. I was then told to wait to go for x-rays, which again was a very short wait, and that was also handled in a very professional manner. I then went back to the exam room and waited for Maria to discuss the results. Fortunately, it was nothing serious, and we discussed what would be the best treatment. Her knowledge was apparent, and we had a nice back and forth discussion on how we should proceed. She made some recommendations as to immediate relief and for possibly some physical therapy to further prevent a similar injury. I would highly recommend this office, and although I hope not to have to use their services any time in the near future, it’s nice to know I have a place to go if I have the need.
These 5 star reviews are highly questionable. The only positive was that they accept walk ins and they were able to obtain an authorization for MRI fairly quick. Otherwise I would never bring my children here again. After the visit and MRI, I made 3 attempts and my physical therapist made 2 attempts to try and reach the orthopedics to find out if my daughter should be weight-bearing vs. Non-weightbearing based on the MRI results. The first receptionist was extremely rude and hung up on me (this attempt did not count). The 2nd attempt, I was told that the doctor will ONLY review the MRI at an in person appointment (virtual was also not possible despite being a single mother and not wanting to drag my children to the very cramped office and waiting outside again with an injured kid and during a pandemic. The office inside is far too cramped for a family to sit in and acceptably social distance from other patients.I made the appointment physically a week later, as there were no other appointments available. This led to the same problem- the PT and I still didnt know if my kid couldnt be weight-bearing or not. There is no reason why we should wait a week week find out something that could potentially make her injury worse. Stay away from this practice and unhelpful staff.
I had an unbelievably great experience at Total Orthopedics. I arrived there with excruciating shoulder pain. I really thought once I arrived they would send me to the hospital. I met the physician assistant, L. Keppel and she was wonderful! She clearly explained what was wrong and how she was going to treat it. She was so patient, kind and genuinely cared about my situation. After the procedure, I left without any pain and feeling great!I still can’t believe it! I would recommend Total Orthopedics and L. Keppel without hesitation. I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was also great from the reception area to the x-ray tech. They were all great!
Had a follow up appointment with Dr McCormack at 8:30. There was no waiting. Saw him at 8:30. He examined my injury, and answered all my questions. He is very professional , explained in simple terms, which I appreciated. So glad I went to Total Orthopedics and Sports medicine.
I have only positive responses to give. The staff was amazing the doctor even more amazing. I am a registered nurse who has worked for a hand specialist for 10 years. Dr. Morrison was so professional and so knowledgeable a true expert in her field! I would definitely recommend anyone with a hand injury to come see this doctor thanks again, Evelyn
I was recommended to Dr Burducea a couple of years ago. Vicki that works side-by-side with Dr Burducea, always takes the time to talk to me & calls me when my pre-approvals come in .The wait time to see Dr Burducea is minimal and he answers all my questions. Dr Burducea has been giving me injections that have relieved the pain even further.Dont hesitate to call. You will not be disappointed.I highly recommend.Karen McClorey
Dr Ruotolo is great. He’s my first orthopedic surgeon and I was very nervous about my diagnosis but he was very informative. The appointment was quick and he was straight to the point! I liked him a lot. The staff is wonderful and the office is taking extra safety precautions which made me feel a lot better about being in a doctor’s facility. Overall, Dr Ruotolo and his staff are wonderful. I have a follow up appointment in 6 weeks and I’m glad I have him as my doctor. He knows what he’s doing.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a dr office. The PA who took care of me was horrible. His diagnosis was wrong , he didn’t listen to a single word I said and was completely wrong about what my insurance coverage. The only pleasant person was the girl at the front desk. I give her 5 stars.
Overall amazing experience. After being in quite a few urgent cares and pediatricians offices over the years it is so refreshing to get this kind of treatment. We only waited a few minutes in the clean, COVID-friendly waiting room before we were brought in the room by the medical assistant. She came right in the room behind us so we didn’t have to wait. A minute after she took our info the PA (Mathew Klics, I think) walked in and made my 7 year old son feel comfortable and welcome. He explained everything he was doing as he went along his very thorough and detailed physical examination. The X-ray tech was friendly and professional. We left total orthopedic and sports with an overall great experience.
It started with a visit to the total orthopedic walk in urgent care in deer park. After visiting a previous knee doctor and being told sciatica and to try physical therapy I had to much pain to not see someone else.Total orthopedics Deer park took xrays and examined them. Then I was referred to Dr Kechajen for pain management/ epidural shots for my lower lumbar herniated discs which were confirmed by MRIAfter 3 shots I was referred to Dr Dante Leven and we discussed a Discectomy to relieve to pressure from the L5s1 disc pushing on a nerve. After 9 months of pain, tingling and numbness from my lower back to calf/foot I can say I am recovering very nicely from the minimally invasive microscopic Discectomy.I have grown to appreciate Dr Kechajen and Dr. Levens bedside manner. Normally with any Doctor you get b/w 3-5 minutes to talk. Not with these two. They like their jobs and you can tell when they are explaining something or offering hope of returning to normal.Epidural shots lasted b/w 3 weeks and 5 weeks but i did not stop living or working.I am greatful for their expertise and help through this last 9 months. Its been 3 weeks since my surgery and i would say the daily pain is gone with a few achs or reminders here and there and I will continue to strengthen and recover.Thank you both for your help
Dr Trepeta is a very good Dr. He takes his time with you and really cares about his patients. My kids and I always go to him when we need an orthopedic. Ive never had any issues with getting an emergency appointment when my kids broke something or injured themselves. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an orthopedic. He specializes in pediatric orthopedic.
Dr Morrison was everything I was hoping she would be. She gave me the compassion and professionalism I needed. I had gone to her for a second opinion on a healed metacarpal break, but I was still in a lot of pain. I wasn’t comfortable with the demeanor of my current doctor, which is what brought me to Total Orthopedics. Dr. Morrison listened and understood the pain I was having. She explained what my options were to alleviate that pain. I am feeling better and will continue to see her as needed.
For a young man, Dr Burducea has a bed-side manner that is not common in todays world. He works tirelessly to get you the best results possible even with reluctant insurance companies. He is personable and talks with you, listening to what you have to say. I believe he is concerned to offer the best medical treatment available.Thank YOU, Dr. Burducea.
I was really scared about just having broken my ankle, urgent care made it seem not a bad break, but visiting Total Orthopedics, i found it was a pretty bad break. I loved Lynn and the staff they were so great, I felt very at ease, and received wonderful care. I then worked with Dr. Dengenis for my surgery and not only did he do an incredible job, he was incredibly upbeat and reassuring, which was lovely.
The staff is very professional and pleasant to interact with.Dr McCormack has an excellent bedside manner and an excellent orthopedic surgeon. Recovering from having two knee replacement surgeries one in July and the other this past September.I highly recommend him to anyone needing his surgical expertise.Charles G
I recommend Total orthopedics & sports medicine! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have to wait very long to be seen and the office atmosphere is very pleasant. Dr. Dengenis is amazing! He is so nice, professional and explains everything so that you understand. Definitely one of my favorite doctors that I have ever seen. I definitely recommend him and his colleagues to whom ever needs any orthopedic care.
Worst visit ever at any doctors office I’ve ever been to! We waited almost an hour to then find out that there were four more people in front of us and could take another hour. I don’t know how you could have an appointment yet they are too hours behind schedule. Sounds like a really bad nightmare, but unfortunately it wasn’t. Needless to say we left after wasting more than an hour of our life, watched several other people leave and then made an appointment at another orthopedics.
Dr. Dengenis was wonderful. Personable, and made you feel comfortable. The rating of two stars is due to office staff. Office is hectic and the front office is very unorganized. Had to wait for over an hour after my appointment. I asked are you guys running behind, I was told no. I said than why am I still sitting here 50 minutes after my appointment time and have not been called in. I was told we make appointments 15 minutes apart but doctors take minimum 1/2 hour with each appointment (that is great when you are with the doc). I said why than make the appointments 15 minutes apart? The answer was it is a rule the office manger made, keeps revenue up.I am not sure if I will return. I have asked for my records but need to call Monday as not everything was entered into the system.I know everyone wants to make money but I left work early when I did not have to. It was a huge inconvenience since I come from the city.Does anyone care about patients any longer?
Due to the pandemic, all places have been overload with patient visits. The waiting room was busy but that was to be expected. However, I was really surprised to be seen really quick and the receptionist, as well as the entire staff, was very helpful and appreciate all the work they are during these times. My visit with Dr. Spain was pleasant and he really took the time to understand my concern. This helped him in diagnosing my issue and I look forward to returning back to that office!
Following a recent fall, I was asking around for an orthopedic doctor referral. Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine was suggested by a friend and by a coworker. I decided to go to their walk-in clinic that night, after work and I’m so glad I did. The check in was quick and the wait was less than 10 minutes. Everyone that I interacted with was welcoming and professional. I saw a PA that not only examined me, but gave me tips on how to heal and what not to do!So, yes I will recommend you to others
This place has been nothing but helpful throughout my entire recovery process. Any questions i had they did not hesitate to go in depth of what my concerns or questions were. Dr.McCormack has been extremely helpful in guiding me through the recovery process. The physical therapists have created an environment where there main focus is for you to constantly get better, while also encouraging some responsibility for yourself to get better as well. Everyone from the receptionists, physical therapist as well as aides, including the doctors have been nothing but great to me. I live these guys, its my second family.
Larry was just amazing. I went to the walk-in clinic and only waited a half hour. Larry explains everything so thoroughly and takes his time and has so much patience. The x rays went quickly and the place is very covid friendly and so clean .I appreciated all the options Larry gave me and how he took his time with a careful diagnosis. I was very impressed! If you can’t get to an orthopedist for any reason this place is amazing.
Dr. Spain was knowledgeable and kind. He explained what was going on with my back. Looked at the MRI results with me so I understood what I was looking at! I feel like getting the answers I needed will help stop the pain on my back. Looking forward to starting physical therapy. I highly recommend Dr. Spain.
I went in to the Urgent Care with a swollen ankle, in pain and unable to walk. I left in a short while with a much happier foot! Everyone was so helpful with the check-in, X-rays, and an informative prognosis! Dr Drazic was so thorough and answered all of my questions with patience and kindness. I’m so thankful to Total Ortho!
I have been under Dr. Routolos care for about a year for multiple injuries and it has been a very positive experience. Good communication skills and an exceptional surgeon well respected among his peers and dedicated to his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Routolo and Total Orthopedics!
I went in with bad elbow pain from playing pickleball and saw Lynn the PA. She diagnosed me quickly and treated me with a cortisone shot now 2 days later I’m feeling much better and looking forward to resuming playing in a couple of weeks. I would recommend this office to anyone needing care for an injury.
The location has good parking. The location houses both the orthopedist and physical therapy. During this pandemic I was disheartened to see that the waiting room was FULL..like people were standing and waiting outside. The check in process was smooth. The wait time was good. The meeting with Dr Spain went well although I felt he was a bit cold; maybe thats his personality. He did his job though and I will be returning for follow ups
I broke my ankle 12 weeks ago and was taken to Total Orthopedics in Massapequa for an emergency visit. Luckily, Dr. Dengenis was in that morning and immediately saw me. I am so grateful to him for his kindness, compassion and professionalism. He sent me straight to the hospital and operated on my ankle late that afternoon, on a Saturday, after seeing patients all day. He easily could have put it off until the following Monday but he didn’t.I can’t say enough good things about him and can’t recommend him highly enough. My son, who is a physical therapist, was very impressed with the care I received from Dr. Dengenis and how well I healed.I highly recommend him for your orthopedic needs.
I visited Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine for a fractured shin. From the beginning of my walk in appt to the end my experience with this facility was great! Larry Waxman saw me for my injury! He was professional, compassionate, caring and so sincere. Thank you for keeping me calm Larry! See you in 3 weeks.😃
All of the doctors here are wonderful and do a great job but the wait time is consistently bad. My last visit i waited over a hour and fifteen minutes past schedule for an appointment i showed up early for. I grew impatient and after a rude response from someone at the front desk i decided it wasnt worth the wait any longer. I wish i could have seen the doctor within a reasonable amount of time, but waiting 2 weeks for the soonest appointment, taking off from work and then having to wait THAT long in the office along with a rude employee i cant see how that is worth my time.
Larry was very prompt, professional, sympathetic and explained my condition fully. His medical diagnosis and treatment was right on. He is a very caring and respectful person. He answered all my questions without feeling rushed out of the office. The front office staff and nurses are also highly skilled and personable. All in all an excellent experience. I would highly recommend without hesitation
Dr. Leven is absolutely amazing. He’s a phenomenal surgeon, and his team are excellent. Christine the surgical coordinator was very very helpful and caring through the whole process. Dr. Leven performed a discectomy and the he pain I had was gone. He is very patient and listens to your injury. He looks at every angle to help you and achieve no pain and get you back to healthy lifestyle. Highly recommended!!
I really like Dr. Spain. He’s got a good bedside manner, easy to talk to and will explain everything. He took a lot of time to review my MRI and we asked quite a few questions. The office was easy to navigate and I liked that the X-rays and MRI could be done all in the same visit. The office itself is very crowded and there was a long wait for the second visit. The office staff was friendly and overall a good experience so far. It’s accessible which is why I like using it.
I brought my 7 month old son to see Dr. Trepeta for a potential hip problem. I have to say (and this is rare) that this doctor was EXCELLENT in every way! His handling of my infant was professional, yet light hearted enough to put both myself and my child at ease. He was thorough and clearly knowledgeable in the pediatric and orthopedic field of study, but not pushy at all.I would 100% recommend this doctor to those seeking treatment/attention for small children.
Tiny facility. Went for an anti-inflammatory injection and was left crippled for days. Office never followed up with me, as per their instructions.I asked for Dr Borducea(?) to call me because I was in more pain and discomfort after the injection. Was promised a call back after the weekend. It’s been over a week and no call... why? Probably because they want me to go into the office so they can charge me for another visit. Ever since, I have been severely depressed and hopless about my recovery.I only came here because my doctor recommended me to... I would not recommend this location to anyone, ever.
What started out as a good visit ended with slow to no follow up. I came because of severe pain in my shoulder. I was informed that someone would contact me by Tuesday about my approval for my plans approval for an MRI.after my Saturday visit. I received a call on Friday. I called my carrier let me know that the request was not submitted until late Wednesday (glad to know the priority of my pain and discomfort has with your office). I spoke with Sue during this call and informed her that I was still in pain to inform the doctor that I needed a prescription for pain meds. She said, that she would but that dif not happen nor was there any follow-up at all! called the next day, to ask again to please call im the prescription. At first, I was informed that the doctor was not in and I would have to wait until he could be contacted next week. I insisted that it was an emergency, they called him and would call the prescription in to my pharmacy. This again, DIDNT HAPPEN!.. This is the WORST service I ever received from so-called medical professionals. I will not be returning. I can only speculate and assume for this extremely poor service but will leave it to you all to think about that. I gave two stars because the person who took the x-rays and the person who took my vitals were very professional.
Needed to see a doctor about terrible back pain that I was having over the weekend. Not only was I seen in less than two hours on arrival to their express care, I also was able to get an MRI too. Very nice staff and PA Larry was very kind and concerned.Highly recommend them.
From start to finish everyone in the office was great. Courteous, helpful and caring. The visit was fast yet through. Much appreciated. Maria and Ryan made sure my child was well taken care of, and did everything in their power to create a positive atmosphere for him. Thank You
I’ve been to Total Orthropedics a few times and always have an exceptional experience. Everybody from the employees at the front desk to the technicians to the doctors, all are very courteous, kind, and helpful. Maria Trotta is a compassionate and understanding RPA. Dr Ruotolo is an excellent surgeon. They both explain what is causing your pain and what is needed to alleviate your pain. I highly recommend Total Orthropedics. Exspecially Maria Trotta RPA and Dr Ruotolo.
Love the staff and Dr Dengenis, they are both very patience and knowledgeable. Glad I got my second opinion with Dr Benatar cause hes awesome and recommended me to Dr Dengenis for surgery. Everyone in Total Orthopedic is so compassionate and def will recommend my friends and family to them.
The wait time in the waiting room was fairly quick,. The girl that took me in was so nice and pleasant. I waited in the exam room for about 45 minutes. I don’t like the fact that I didn’t see the doctor, since I was told I would after the PA. The PA offered no apology for the long wait.
This office has no clue how to schedule appts. Had an appt at 5:45, we check in and find out after waiting 30min and asking I am told they are behind by an hour. Finally at 7:00 go into room. Now 730, guess what we are still waiting to see Dr Trepeta. This office is pathetic and no care about the patients time. They did not even call to tell patients they are behind.
I started seeing Dr Ruotolo as a result of a rotator cuff tear. He performed my surgery and Ive been receiving PT for several months. My progress has been great in spite of the fact that Im in my seventies. I have Dr Ruotolo to thank. He is a well known orthopedist and many employees at NUMC , where I worked, trust him and recommend him to anyone asking about who to see for surgery. Appointments are easy to make, staff are very friendly and helpful. Ive never waited for more than 15 minutes to be seen which is not always the case in other practices. I recommend Dr Ruotolo for people looking for orthopedic care.
Ive been under the care of Dr. Dante Leven for about 2 1/2 years. He has brought me through a rough surgery and his post treatment has been awesome. Ive felt very comfortable attending his office and clinic and now hes associated with Total Orthopedics theres continuance with his level of professionalism. The office staff are great and extremely helpful and attentive. I give total orthopedics the thumbs up and would recommend them.
Dr. Spain and all of the employees at Massapequa Total Sports are professional and extremely attentive to the needs of their patients.I have been a patient here with several doctors for several years and have had the best medical care I could possibly hope for.Their facility is safe and sanitized and wait times from appointed time until the time you are seen by the doctor are quick.
The total orthopaedic group have been kind and compassionate about my injury, and showed me they truly care about whats best for me. I was treated well with focus on me and my treatment. All the way from my initial visit and diagnosis, to the scheduled surgery and post operative follow ups, I felt they had my best interest as priority. The facilities are clean and professional as you would expect from a medical facility. They have all the latest technology up to date in the offices for the best of care for the patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Owens to anyone who is a candidate for knee replacement. I believe he has x-ray vision because the way he responds to the description of the complainant. He has obviously spent a lot of time in surgery to know his way around the knee joint to make the best repairs possible. Thank you Total Orthopaedic, and Dr Owens for helping me.
Worth the wait!!! Dr. Routolo is Amazing along with his sweet wife they are a dynamic duo!!! I must give the one staff member Nicole the utmost credit her kindness and outstanding attention to your needs at the front desk it is superb! I must call Dr. Routolo a Rock Star in this industry you will understand once you meet him! I must also say Dr. Spain is of the same caliber really Great Doctors!Book your appointment ASAP!
Absolutely fantastic experience. I have never been to an orthopedic so I wasnt so sure what to expect. When I first walked in, I was rather blown away by the place as I noticed that they had an orthopedic as well as a physical therapy office inside. I was assisted fast and efficiently by the girls upfront. When I went back the MA asked me questions and then an X-ray tech came in right away to give me an X-ray. That was fast and the doctor came in almost immediately following my X-ray. I also learned they have an MRI there too. This place has it all! The doctor, Dr. Degenis, was very friendly and super knowledgeable about my condition. He thoroughly explained a treatment plan and sent me across the street to All American Medical Supply. Check my review on that also. Im excited to check out the physical therapy in this office on Friday when I go back.
I was quickly treated with dignity and care for a potential fractured hand, even without a prior appointment. PA was great and within two weeks symptoms were totally cleared. My wife had gone there twice for fractured foot two years before and she thought they were great.
They took me on a Sunday on short notice. Thank God, I was in agony my knees were so swollen I couldntwalk. Check in was very smooth and even though they were crowded and busy with Covid test/shots I was able to see Dr. Dengenis in short order and get treatment to ease my pain and bring down the swelling so that I could work the next morning. Thank you all.
I was very disappointed this time. I got a very nice doctor he was a very nice person. He told me absolutely nothing about my condition and every time I asked a question he gave me analogies that are totally unrelatable. He told me he does not like pills And that even taking Advil is not a good idea for inflammation.
I was impressed with the short amount of wait time. My appointment was at 5p and I was sitting with Dr McCormack by 5:10. He took his time and explained my upcoming surgery and answered all my questions. He made me feel Very comfortable. I know I chose the right surgeon. Thank you!!
I dont know about all the doctors at this practice, but Dr Elizabeth Morrison is simply amazing. She knows her stuff, is personable, very honest, articulates on every level to make sure that you understand what is going on, and that you are very satisfied with her care. I have personally known and worked around many doctors over the years and THIS ONE actually cares! She also looks like she belongs on a Hollywood set (just sayin).Truth be told she is very gifted and I would not trust anyone with cutting me open but her. I use my hands a lot for critical tasks and I chose her ahead of two other surgeons from Long Island who treated me as if they were train conductors in a hurry to get moving along and I was holding them up when I asked some questions about options. Consequently, I am very satisfied with the results and my hand is good as new, strong as ever!I know that she got paid for the good care she provided but I still feel that I owe her some debt of gratitude just because. Because when she is attending to you at the office or at the hospital she makes you feel like YOU are more important than HER. That you definitely come first and will not receive anything less than the best of care, the kind you deserve. No matter what concerns you have, from anesthesia to recovery, with her around you just know that somehow everything is gonna be alright. In my own experience and humble opinion one cannot put a price on that.
Dr Morrison was great. She found something my prior orthopedic totally missed. I will never give doc office a 5 star rating until they relax with the paperwork and see me at the scheduled time. Appointment was 2pm went in at 2:20. Not bad compared to others. She is great though.
Dr.Ruotolo was my second opinion for my torn ACL. He is an excellent doctor, i can not say enough good things about him. Knowledgeable, excellent bedside manner, and throughly explained his method and procedure to come. I feel completely comfortable going on the OR table in his care. Highly recommend.
Total orthopedics has been wonderful since day 1 of walking into the office. Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Ruotolo and Maria have been by far the nicest physicians I have ever had to deal with. The surgical coordinator Vivienne is amazing with getting all the paperwork through for me. Overall an amazing office and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know.
Dr. Brett Spain is very caring, easy going, and helpful - he answers all of your questions. Hes very thorough. You walk out feeling better, comfortable, and confident that youre in great hands! He not only got rid of my pain, he educated me too. Hes SO knowledgeable and gives several treatment options. Dr. Morrison is similar to Dr. Spain, shes simply awesome! My pain is gone after her surgery! Dr. Avanesov is also a wonderful surgeon, my neck and back pain were relieved!! Great Orthopedic group here.
I never heard of a walk in orthopedic before and I was amazed. I was seen within minutes. My follow up with Dr. Morrison was the same walked in had my appointment time didn’t have to wait long at all. The doctor was very knowledgeable didn’t seem like she wanted to get me out quickly. Sat down and explained exactly what was wrong with my hand. I have one more follow up with her. I would recommend this place to everyone!
Dr. Benatar and his staff, are professional, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile for me. I had a problem with my insurance, which would have delayed my treatment. Within 24 hours, it was taken care of, and I was on the road towards pain relief. The office staff worked with me ,to make appointments around my busy schedule. I would recommend them all day every day!
Hands down the best orthopedics experience I had. I originally saw the PA Trotta due to knee pain that never resolved. She was thoroughly and friendly. On site I got XRays done and then a script for MRI. I wound up needing pretty invasive knee surgery. After my initial visit I was in surgery in two weeks. My surgery was done by Dr Ruotolo and has a very positive experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable and always took the time to answer any of my questions through my whole recovery process. I would definitely recommend. If you are in a rush I would avoid the massapequa location as it seems to have the most patients. Deer park always had a significantly shorter wait.
I had a really great experience at the walk in Orthopedic center. The wait was about an hour, which wasn’t a shock to me and it took me most of the time to fill out my paperwork and get my insurance information confirmed etc. The Dr. I saw was very thorough and made sure I completely understood my x-rays and next steps. After being mis-diagnosed elsewhere several years ago, it was reassuring that she listened to my concerns and ordered x-rays and an MRI that had been denied to me by other medical professionals in the past, stating it wasn’t necessary; which ultimately has led to my back issues escalating. Thank you so much for actually listening to your patients concerns, your care and expertise!
The staff are all professional and patient. When ever I called I was helped right away. They were all on the same page. Dr Routolo was excellent. He really educated me on my shoulder and my options. We did not rush into surgery. However, it was inevitable. The surgery was 2 days ago, I saw him yesterday and I am feeling good. Surgery is always scary but I knew I was in good hands! I was right! I would highly recommend Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Dr Dengenis is a phenomenal surgeon. He balances his professionalism with his warm, down to earth personality beautifully. He is very knowledgeable and more than competent but also kind and caring. That is a winning combination. I experienced a horrific trauma which he addressed through surgery. He was reassuring and supportive along the road to recovery, recognizing that emotional health is equally important to physical well being.Dr. Morrison is thorough in her examination and on target with practices and procedures for treatments. She is also compassionate and takes the time to explain all possibilities. I found her personal and professional demeanor to be exceptional. I would certainly recommend her to others.
The office is very organized and clean and they have several offices to choose from. The receptionist are respectful and greet your warmly. I was seen by Maria and she had a great attitude and made me feel comfortable. Maria listened to my concerns and answered any questions i had about my injuries and future care. After the initial evaluation i was seen by Dr. Benatar who is one of the best doctors i have encountered! He does not pressure you into having any surgeries and he explains to you all the different options you have for care! Every visit he makes you comfortable and is there to help you in any way professionally possible. Dr. Benatar has treated me well and that is why i continue to be seen by him after several injuries!
I met with P.A Waxman and felt he was very thorough. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a walk in orthopedic but was pleasantly surprised with the experience. He was knowledgeable, polite and explained everything thoroughly. He came up with a solid course of action to alleviate my pain. My only complaint is regarding the wait time and cramped waiting area which is shared by 3 offices. It’s very tight which can be difficult for people with walkers and wheelchairs.
The staff and the Dr Dengenis is very friendly helpful & gr8 extremely knowledgeable. After explaining everything to me sbout my son whos having a sprain in anlkle & an elbow he explained so well everything to him, & too just to put me at ease. Completely satisfied that we are in good hand by god grace
I’m always treated nice here. I saw Dr Morrison for removal of cyst on my wrist last year. She was awesome. Now I need surgery on my cervical spine. Saw Dr Lerman.. he was very informative & I just feel comfortable knowing that my surgery will go well. You know when u get that feeling that a doctor actually cares..that’s what I feel here . 💯
Dr Ruotolo was amazing. I had two shoulder surgeries done previous to Total Orthopedics and both were a failure. By the time I ended up at Total Orthopedics I needed bone replacement, and a bicep repair. Not only did Dr Ruotolo listen, he was reassuring, empathetic and caring to my concerns. It has been 5 years since my surgery and I’ve never felt better. I was given the proper therapy and recovery methods and since my life has changed. The best group of doctors I’ve ever been around, personable, friendly , honest, and most of all excellent care. This is the only place to go!! Highly highly recommend!
When we left the office we were amazed at the excellent service provided. My daughter was treated right away and had her X-rays done in no time. The PA Larry Waxman was professional and extremely helpful in finding a plan for my daughters knees. It was a great experience.
I have nothing but good things to day about the Dr.s Ive treated with! Dr. Spain, and Dr. Morrison are both wonderful, and I would highly recommend both of them. I know others who have treated with different Dr.s, and all were satisfied! The staff also are helpful & friendly, and make you feel comfortable. 5 stars from me everyone!! Keep on being so down to earth!
I understand some people have been unhappy with the office. I brought my daughter in and yes it was a wait but very worth the wait! Staff nice the PA nice. Never had a problem with the wait yes it was long. Having a very busy schedule myself never want to wait 45 minutes for my appointment. The staff cant control other who want to talk and add more to the appointment. Cant blame staff for caring enough to listen and help everyone.
Dr. McCormack was very professional and informative. All of the staff was extremely professional and courteous. The doctors diagnosis was on point, and the healing is in full effect.Im quite pleased with my experience at this location. I highly recommend them to people seeking professional assistance with there ailments.
Can’t be thankful enough!!! My 2 year old fractured his leg on Friday evening and we had to see a pediatric orthopedist as soon as possible after visiting urgent care. There are very few orthopedic offices that are open on Saturdays, and in my area Total Orthopedics was the only one open. Even though they were completely booked they still accepted us, understanding that my child was very uncomfortable and there was a long weekend ahead. Dr. Trepeta is a great doctor, very caring and patient with my 2 year old. He is very knowledgeable and explained us everything about the injury and the treatment. His office staff is extremely nice and caring and I can’t thank them all enough. Susan at the front desk thank you for understanding our situation and taking us on a busy day. I highly recommend everyone to see Dr. Trepeta and to trust him if you need to see an orthopedist.
Felt very comfortable there. Dr McCormack came very highly recommended by a friend of mine who he had performed surgery on. I feel very confident that I am being treated by the right doctor. He is not rushing into surgery and taking a more step by step approach to my treatment which I really like.
Total Orthopedics have always treated me with kindness and respect. I have had six surgeries with Dr Ruotolo and his team including P.A. Maria and would not go to anyone else and have recommended them to friends and family. So since my last review I had another surgery with Dr Ruotola, Maria Trotta P.A. and the team, and as always everything was perfect, quick recovery. Last week I had an appointment with Maria Trotta and was diagnosed with arthritis in my left knee and had a Cortizone shot to help with the pain. I’ve been a patient since 2007 and I fell like I’m visiting family they are so warm, kind and caring. You can be the best Doctor in the world, but bed side manner is as important to a patient as the Doctors skills and you will not find a practice as caring as Total Orthopedic & Sports medicine. Since I last posted I had my seventh surgery and this week I returned with left shoulder pain and need another MRI, as always my visit with Ms. Trotta was a pleasure and I’m confident that what damage I have to my shoulder will be resolved with Dr. Rutolla’s skill and expertise.
Would never ever go back! Got there around noon, filled out paperwork both online and in the office. I was hoping to be evaluated because of the severe pain I was having in my back. After a 2 hour wait I was brought into a room saying I was in the wrong building. The spine dr. was in another building. At this point I’m in tears because of the pain. I was told I had to have a consult then I could be treated with possible injection. (During the 2 hours at the second location I was under the impression my insurance company was being contacted.) As I left the first location, the staff knew I was having difficulty walking. I could barely make it to my car. The staff saw my extreme pain, no help, almost fell in the parking lot and suffer getting to my car parked down a hill on the side street.Next location, again a long wait about 2 hours.Dr came in asked a bunch of questions and said I could have an injection in 5 days. He told me the insurance company would deny the claim the same day as the visit. 5 days really? I was never examined, it turned out to be about the insurance not about me. They never asked about me paying out of pocket...I ended up in the Emergency Room last night I was immediately seen, X-ray, and treated. I’m now on the road to recovery instead of waiting 5 days in acute pain.
Doctot Morrison is a excellent Doctor! She not only listens to your concerns, and problems, she explains everything step by step so that you understand the coarse of action that she plans to take. I really did Appreciate Her genuine kindness and caring for me and my injury.
Although the wait was a bit long, I found when Dr. Morrison examined me, she was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and took the time with be to answer any questions I had. After having been to an urgent Care facility and an orthopedist over the last many months with little improvement with my wrist, I left Dr. Morrison feeling much more well informed, better understanding the (possible) problem and steps to be taken.Extremely satisfied.
Brought my grandma with a broken wrist. She is a foreigner and didnt speak English, even though, the staff was very friendly and helped her with the cast very fast. The price for the visit was very reasonable, even cheaper than Urgent care.Professional help was provided and one week after she has no discomfort due to fracture.Thank you
Dr. Elizabeth Morrison is the best! Im so glad I found her & that she was accepting new patients. Her bedside manner & expertise put my mind at ease. I was able to get a quick appt & was very impressed with the friendly staff & the overall quality of service that I rcvd.
While they provide top-rate medical services, and are professionally staffed and operated, they seriously overbook, resulting in long waiting periods. Plus, their examining rooms are not models of hygiene.Despite the foregoing, Dr. Morrison is a TOP-FLIGHT surgeon!! She takes great care of her patients and is genuinely invested in their recovery and well-being. You couldn’t be in better hands.
Dr David is a consummate physician he has continually provided treatment for my disability over the years in the most professional manner. I am able to live a better quality of life thanks to him and would highly recommend his services to anyone experiencing pain and discomfort. Originally I was a patient of his father and he follows a family tradition of helping others with competence.
Dr. Spain and his staff are not only the epitome of professionalism, they are also extremely attentive, personable and actually exhibit care for their patients. Sadly, I’ve had to see several orthopedists over the years due to chronic knee and hip issues and by far, I’m the happiest with Dr. Spain!I highly recommend Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine!Oh, and most importantly, you’re called for your appointment at the scheduled time and seen within 10 minutes! How’s that for a minor miracle???
Dr. Spain is amazing. I’ve been seeing him for the last 3 months after a car accident I was in, and his recommendations and care have been top notch. He is very knowledgeable, and takes the time to really explain the issue at hand, and I would recommend him to anyone!!

2022-04-16I came in with frozen shoulder and was in excruciating pain. I was treated by Matthew Klics and felt relief within a few hours. I am so grateful to him. He had wonderful bedside manner, was very knowledgeable and professional. The office staff and X-ray technician were very nice, efficient and professional. They made the entire process so easy. I was in and out within the hour. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you, I am forever grateful!

2022-06-15Matthew Klics, the PA we saw, was AMAZING. He not only thoroughly examined my sons arm with care and sensitivity, he included me and my son in the entire diagnosis. He answered every question fully, including stopping to pull up x-ray images on google to explain the condition he was looking for and what it would have looked like if the bone had been broken. Instead of making a determination and telling me the treatment, he walked me through his entire thought process for making the diagnosis, made a care plan with me, and showed that he is practicing with the most up-to-date evidence to support his recommendations. I walked out feeling like I not only knew what the diagnosis was, but why it was made, how to care for my son, and how to look out for warning signs of something serious. It was the most thorough, respectful, patient-centered care I have experienced as a parent. Matthew should teach all doctors and medical care providers how to treat their patients. He is the gold standard.

2022-03-15This was my second time dealing with this practice; my first time at the Massapequa office. When I first walked in, I will admit, I was nervous. The waiting area was packed and the office was using a new check in system on an app. I truly believed I would not be seen on time ( I made the appointment during my lunch break). I was called in immediately and brought into an exam room. The nurse taking my information was professional, more importantly, friendly. I was then brought into the X-ray room and the lady there too, was awesome. Then Dr Benetar walked in. He was very thorough in questioning my condition and reviewing the X-ray. He spoke to me like I was his friend! Very sincere and knowledgeable. I totally appreciated the whole experience. The check in and check out staff were also very helpful despite the stress of the new app not working so well! Good luck with the app from here on out. Thank you all!Tony

2022-05-19The docs that I have dealt with are friendly and seem to know their craft well. That being said, make sure that you have a LOT of time to sit and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. The appointment time means NOTHING. This place is THE WORST office that I have had to deal with when it comes to honoring appointment times. Let me be clear, I have NEVER been seen in less than an hour after my scheduled time. Close to 2 hours late is my record so far. (Why do I come back? Insurance case dictated that I go here for my treatment.) If I could have gone elsewhere I certainly would have. Good luck.

2022-02-17Dr. Burducea is an excellent Doctor. He tells you what to expect and possibly the end results depending on your condition. He is patience with you never in a hurry to rush you out. I like that he explains things to you so you understand what he is doing. His staff are all friendly and smiley all the time. I would recommend Dr. Burducea and all the Doctors at Total Orthopedic and Sports Medicine to all my friends and family when they ask. Thanks you for taking good care of me and all your patient.

2022-07-23AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I have never seen a more incompetent group of medical professionals assembled in my life. They do not listen , They do not care, they only want money at the end of the day. They cant even put a claim in properly to insurance. every single time I have been they have misdiagnosed me to the point where I have torn labrum. If only they listened to me and actually did their jobs and figured out what was wrong instead of taking the east way out and just guessing. A patient still in pain is returning patient which equals more money. I injured my ankle in 2018 and I went in with pain almost exactly to that pain and all they did was give me steroids. I can see that they didnt even explain that the pain was debilitating. that i just had some pain. Luckily I am seeing a real doctor Monday and not this theater masquerading as a medical office.

2022-06-15I’ve been going to Dr. Benatar for about 15 years. Always a pleasant experience. He’s very thorough and not an alarmist. His staff is great as well! He recommends exactly what you need to get better. I know I’m in good hands. Highly recommend 😃

2022-03-04The doctors at this practice are wonderful. Each one is knowledgeable in their area of the body and I have benefited greatly by their expertise. I have worked with Dr Ruotolo, Dr. Benatar, and most recently Dr. Morrison and all 3 have provided me with relief in the places of my body where they specialize. I guess as I grow older and more parts need attention, it’s great to know there are such top notch doctors all in one place. And, I need to mention, the staff is amazing as well!!!!!

2022-05-26Very professional, Doctor was very knowledgeable took time to get to the bottom/underline causes of my pain. I drove one hour to see this doctor and would do it again and again. Excellent service
