Town of Oyster Bay Dog Park in Massapequa
Great place lots of room for dog to roam. Unfortunately some people bring aggressive dogs. Upon entering, my dog was stomped on and bitten by a husky. I do understand its a dog park, but owners should stop their dogs from bad behaviour. Instead we were screamed at and threatened by by owner that saw nothing wrong with this. Uneasy feeling while there
A nice secluded dog park, open to any dog owner looking for a little extra space. Compared to my backyard its a large area, and that goes for both the large and small sides. Its well maintained and has plenty of used toys laying around incase youve forgotten yours. (I have to assume this is because of the community surrounding the park so props to them; please follow the rules!!!) Its secure, has seating and its just a nice change of pace from your boring sidewalk. The ground is mostly large woodchips though so be careful of injuries while playing and running around.
This park is large, with two separate areas, one for smaller dogs, and the larger area for both big and small. After a storm, the park can be very swampy with large muddy puddles. There are a good number of benches and tables for owners to sit at while their dogs play.
Awesome space (large) for both large and small breeds (separated). Benches (some with a roof) to sit and bags usually plentiful and available. Usually has plenty of dogs (particularly on large breed side) and usually some dirty tennis balls available.Only negative is that it is a mud pit after rain.
This place used to be good when it first opened up. Now theyre not keeping up with the maintenance. They used to supply poopie bags, but no more. The water fountain broke over the winter and stayed broken well into the spring before they finally fixed it and the dogs were able to drink. They use bark mulch on the ground that they dont replace in a significant way. They will occasionally sprinkle some new mulch, but they really need to do more. One of the benches under the gazebo has been caved in for years which they still havent fixed. Having said all this though, my dog lives to go to the dog park , so I bring my own water and doggie bags.
Its a nice place, but unfortunately there are some rude people there and some pitbulls that have caused terrible incidents there. I take my dog there very early or very late when no one else is there. Some people are very careless and dont pick up after them either. I wish they were stricter with the rules there. It could be a nice place.
I just discovered this dog park. We usually go to the one in Long Island city near the Pepsi sign. But I really like this one too. I love the fact that big dogs and small dogs are separated from each other so i dont have to worry if my small dog is making problems. Its a pretty BIG dog run. You can also sit there. We definitely come back.
Dont go here unless u want to argue see the cops. See a fight or watch a dog get killed by an ignorant owner ! Terrible shady ignorant people come here . This one guy has an agressive Rottweiler that constantly stacks dogs . Dont come here. Go to west hills in huntington or Babylon dog park !!!!!

2019-07-30You’ve heard of the Fresh Air Fund, which takes city kids to the suburbs and countryside to let them breathe clean air? This is our version for dogs. We looked up this dog park and made our way from Massapequa to it. Big, spacious, cleanish, it’s much better than the dog runs we have easy access to in our neighborhood park, Riverside Park in Manhattan. Our dog, Tara, seen here catching her breath while running around like a demon, loved it.

2021-07-19The dog park in Massapequa we great our dog enjoyed running around in it with a few other dogs. I only wish that they had human rest rooms so we could also go instead of having to get our dog and leave the park with her. I know that the Dog Park up on Bayville has rest rooms for us , it is not exactly near the dog park but rather the beach area and also the Ball field area but still at least 1 of us could stay with our dog will the other walks to the restroom. Just a thought maybe the Town of Oysterbay could create human restrooms near the parking lot in Massapequa for people to use.

2019-11-17The dogs have a great time here. Its a good system where small and large breed dogs are in separate areas. Most people who come are good and bring well trained dogs. The reason I didnt give it 5 starts is sometimes arguments break out among dog owners, and it can also get a bit muddy.

2020-02-17We were in the small dog run, there were 10 dogs for my Lucy to play with. It is a large area with wood chips covering ground. Plenty of benches and a table available, welcoming group of regulars...we had fun. Overall nice experience.
