AVOID this place. With so many other choices in the area, do not waste your money. I am a Marriott member and we made a reservation thru the Marriott website. We stayed 4 nights and had issues every day.Check in was a disaster as we were given a key to a room that was occupied. We found that out when we went to the room to try and use it. We went back down to the desk and after being told they had no rooms, 20 minutes later we finally had a room that was not occupied . The room was not clean, carpet ripped and we found a used washcloth handing on the shower curtain. We asked for cleaning service each day and received it one day of the four days we stayed. We had to go down to desk each night for towels. The front desk at night was poorly staffed by people who did not not know what they were doing/not trained or were too busy looking at their personal cell phones.Customer service, was non existent.Breakfast in the morning had aged fruit, and was not kept looking nice bu the staff.Again, other places around the area have to better.
Friendly staff & great location especially if visiting Hamilton College. First time back to the hotel since 2019. My 2 bedroom unit could have used a fresh coat of paint and furniture replacement but given the negative impact Covid had on the hospitality industry, Ill give the hotel a pass on this matter.Ill certainly choose the hotel again when in the area.
Overall, I had a very good stay here for one night. The front desk staff was helpful and the room was spacious, well appointed and extremely clean. The bed and pillow were quite comfortable too.The breakfast, in the time of COVID, was fine but not a normal one for hotels. (During COVID, the other 2 hotels where Ive stayed also have a much more limited breakfast.) My only issue was the lack of decaf coffee in the lobby. (I was given packets to make in my room though.)
Towne Place Suites have very friendly and professional staff. Everything was clean and the rooms have everything you need. I would definitely stay here if you are looking for cleanliness and a quite location. Breakfast is very good too. They serve a variety of food, even if you are on the go and want something quick to grab. I would rate 1000 if it was an option.☺☺☺
Shocked at the lack of cleanliness and poor service. Check in was sketchy with the employee sitting on a curb with a girl and a dog. As I walked in to check in and heard a voice from the outside asking if I was there to check in,, which startled me. A guy who was sitting on the curb wearing shorts said to check in with him. I was very confused as to who he was and why he wanted me to check in at the curb with a giant dog and a girl. I was unsure if he was a hotel employee wearing shorts, sitting on curb, and no identifying name tag or anything. He stood up and i asked where Im supposed to check in. He led me inside where he proceeded to tell me about section 8 housing and how easy it is to get cheap housing in the area vs NYC. The hotel itself was another story with having to pass by piles of dog hair in the hallway that led to a room. It was not a welcoming hotel and certainly not a place Id choose to stay when visiting family again. Each time we went to front desk, nobody was there and his have to wait until someone popped out from the back. I called for extra towel and they said to come down to get towels. Needless to say, we cut our stay short and checked into a much cleaner hotel nearby with extremely professional staff. The difference was night & day and Im shocked this hotel is able to use the Marriott name. Completely disappointed and felt misled by booking a stay with a trusted name.
I was not greeted as a loyal member of the Rewards program, let alone a lifetime Platinum member. There was no housekeeping during our 2 night stay and we were not informed that this would be the case. Was not offered bonus points or a gift as is policy. The bedding was yellowed. I asked to be put on an upper floor at 3:30pm, was given ground floor and told the hotel was sold out. There was no effort to make me happy even though several guests had not yet checked in. Breakfast was the worst of any Marriott property I have stayed and indeed was limited to cold cereal & packaged muffins/ breakfast sandwiches on Sunday morning. Monday offered hot breakfast but it was picked over and not replenished during the time we were there. Overall the worst Marriott property I have stayed at during my longstanding loyalty spanning more than 3 decades. Far too costly for just a bed and AC. Not sure if it is the Towne Place Suites brand or the management of the property, but I will forego this property in future.
Door was open when I got to the room. Trash was left over in the cans from prior guest. No towels, soap or shampoo. Stains on furniture. Breakfast for four days was terrible. Staff was really nice and helpful. It appears they are short on staff. Building appeared run down in places. I only stay in Marriott’s and will continue even after this crappy room.
This is a really nice hotel. The ladies at the front desk are very cool and helpful if you have a question. Literally the best grab and go breakfast Ive ever seen. Breakfast matters. The morning cleaning ladies are kinda creepy but thats what the do not disturb thing is for. I still give this place 5 stars
Very nice staff. Very clean and modernroom and decor with all of the necessary electronic charging ports easily accessible.Option to have room on the first floor not next to the ice machine and/or elevatorwas fantastic. Close proximity to parking lot. We enjoyed our stay so much that we actually made reservations for my stepdaughter to stay there in a room all to herself. We made plans to drive up to Niagara Falls after her graduation from Harvard University as a nice, family roadtrip. She enjoyed her 😊 room as well.Thank you so much and keep up the good work. Continued Success 🙏
I checked in for one night prior to an early morning meeting. I walked in to the dishwasher running. It shut off not long after I arrived and I noticed that the refrigerator was loud/buzzing. I didnt figure that I was in for a great night sleep but chalked it up to regular room noises. I used the restroom and when I opened the soap, noticed the previous occupants beard trimmings on the amenities tray and around the sink. The gentleman at the front desk immediately apologized, gave me a new room, and upgraded it to a suite; urging me to talk to the manager the next morning.I had a brief conversation with the manager the next morning in which she promised to add points to my Bonvoy account - those have not materialized.
WOW this place was incredible, from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. my girlfriend and I were in a two bedroom with our kids and the suite was huge! There was a whole kitchen in there!!! The front desk clerk who I believe was mike was beyond helpful and humorous answering all questions and helping when needed, thank you. Breakfast was included and was pretty good as well. The hotel overall was very clean and for the most part maintained. Pets were also welcomed which is a bonus for us as we cannot travel without our furbabies and had a nice conversation of dogs with the front desk.. will for sure recommend to everyone i can traveling to this area and come back to this hotel when I do...
I have put off writing a review, hoping that a billing issue would be resolved first, but apparently Marriott is sticking to the overcharge. We booked a stay through Priceline, then extended 3 days with Priceline again....prepaid to Priceline. At the end of the 2nd stay, Mariott charged us for the 2nd stay as well! Our last extension was booked directly at the front desk. They asked if I still wanted to use the card on file, and I assumed they meant the one I have when I checked in. When we checked out, the card they were trying to use didnt work so they called and I checked with the credit card company and noticed the previous charge days before. I called back and informed them they were using the wrong card, and gave them the new information and then questioned the previous charge, because it looked like they already charged me the first day, which is odd. She insisted that was just a hold ($330 for 4 nights?...that has NEVER happened) and would not post. I even questioned how much it was as that should have been a red flag, and was assured that it wouldnt post. The next day it posted and I have been unable to resolve this with the branch or Marriott. I never received a folio after staying there and it wasnt in my Bonvoy records....also has never happened. Ive sent them my Priceline receipts and credit card charges, and in exchange they just now....6 weeks later, they sent me a folio that shows us staying directly with them for 7 nights...clearly, something is going on here. We have been traveling the world for 3 years spending hundreds of nights a year at Marriotts, and never once have had an issue. We absolutely love Marriott. Unfortunately, this incident will probably make us think twice. As far as the hotel goes....we extended our stay twice and weve stayed here before. The hotel is clean and safe, in a great location, and the staff is absolutely awesome. We love staying here. Im just not willing to spend 2x more to do it.
Loved every minute of it. The kitchette and dining table was the best for us with two kids. The pool was clean and enjoyable. Beds so comfy, just wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy the luxury some more. Hotel staff could not have been better. Maybe put a note where the ice machine is located would be helpful on the freezer door, incase the cubes dont freeze fast enough for you in your private frig/freezer! Loved the place and was able to use our hotel.com credits toward a stay.
The electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work. The Ground fault light on the outlet flashed continuously indicating a malfunction. When asking for more towels I was told there was a towel shortage. I did receive the towels but had to put the used ones in the hallway. The hot breakfast (eggs, Sausage) were over cooked, rubbery and tasteless. There were many times the front desk was not staffed.
The reviews on Google did not lie when it comes to the Townplace Suites. The overall experience was quite enjoyable. We traveled with 3 small children (5, 3, 10mos) and the staff were very helpful to make sure all guests were happy. Our king suite was practical and the bed was amazingly comfortable . We used the pool and complimentary laundry services, both were well maintained. All staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our 4 Day stay. Thank you!
Very clean, updated/new hotel with great location to many locations. Staff is very polite and helpful and accessible! Bed was nice and firm, my preference is firm so it fit me well. Shower was awesome! Good pressure and great coverage! Rooms have enviable storage and will really get you thinking of how you can improve your own home for storage and design! Could easily stay in the room for a week or more for business or pleasure. TV is configured for streaming media! Netflix, Pandora, and Crackle (free no subscription required streaming movies with small/short commercials). I really enjoyed Crackle (forgot my account info to stream Netflix!). I travel often for business and can seriously recommend this hotel to all travelers! There is a BBQ and firepit on property! Great atmosphere!
Love that this hotel is dogfriendly with a pet fee per stay. There is plenty of grassy area for the dogs to go to the bathroom. I like the landscaping used rocks instead of mulch, looks prettier. The hotel is very clean. I made ice in the freezer until I saw the ice machine across from the breakfast area. There is a mini fridge in the breakfast room that is always stocked with yogurt, milk and next to it is some baked goods such as mini muffins. My girls slept well here and so did I. The only weird thing is the toilet in the room that I stayed in was installed too close to the sink. Im a small person and the toilet paper sticks out over the edge and f the toilet. The clear shower curtain was too short, barely covering the tub causing the shower water to splash into the floor. I had to turn the shower head toward the wall and out a towel on the floor along the side of the tub. I only had breakfast one of the 3 mornings. It was pretty good. Plenty of parking. I will stay here again if Im visiting the area again.
Checking into this place was easy. I walked in gave my reservation number and in less than 5 minutes I was in my room. The hotel has a large breakfast area and a nice set up out doors with a grill patio and fire pit. The hotel also offers a pool and gym. The staff was very attentive to their guests and the rooms were very comfortable. I would recommend anyone to stay here
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The location was perfect too. The breakfast was horrible and that is the reason we would not stay again. The choices were few, the coffee was weak and had no coffee flavor, the oatmeal was paste, eggs stuck to the pan, sausage greasy and like leather. There was no gluten free labels and its always to have a GF muffin or coffee cake, closing Sunday breakfast at 10:00am on a Sunday seem very early too. We recently started staying in the Utica area a couple times a month to see our son and have been looking for a hotel to call our home base. We depend on breakfast in the hotel and always book someplace that offer breakfast included in the price. Sorry but we give a thumbs down for the breakfast and probably wont return.
The staff at the front desk had pretty bad service.. when I first came in to check into the hotel I was given the wrong room & when I went back down to the lobby to inform them they had made a mistake they said that there was no returns and that there was nothing they could do after asking if I could get a different room. Also there was no shower curtains and the trash bins were full of garbage from a previous person staying in that room. I gave the review a 2 of 5 stars bc of the elevator. I ain’t like stairs so much.
Our family of 3 stayed using points, checking in after 1 am. Nice clean place. We stayed in a king suite using a sofa bed. Room is perfectly fine for 2 but maybe a bit tight for 3. We had enough towels for our family. Breakfast as expected but a bit more fruit would be nice. Overall well maintained property.
Standard room has a kitchenette, full refrigerator was bonus. Great desk/workspace. Absolutely love the bed super comfortable. Loved everything about the hotel! The gym, po, breakfast, EVERYTHING was awesome. Love the fact they are pet friendly too! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
I cannot say enough about this hotel. The front desk staff were SO friendly and kind. They assigned our rooms close to each other which was especially helpful since we had a few older relatives that needed assistance. I have never seen a Towneplace property that had 2 bedroom suites. This place has it. That made it easier to have your own personal space when you needed that time to sleep or unwind. The hotel is clean, modern, and bright with a full kitchen that was super helpful when it came to storing our hawaiian leis for the graduation. I had the leis sent directly to the hotel and the staff received them and stored them until I returned from my daily outing. Turning Stone Casino is close by, so a day trip for Bingo and gambling was perfect! Thank you New Hartford Towneplace Suites, for making my family of 20 feel welcome at your hotel. We truly appreciate your hospitality.
This Hotel is in a great location with a great value. The staff are courteous and helpful. They ask how you are and if they can help with anything. The rooms are comfy and a provide you with a place to take a break after a long day. The location sets the hotel near shopping and many food choice. Another great benefit of its location is the easy on and off from the highway.
I stayed here for Boilermaker just for one night. When I checked in, the staff was very kind and friendly, and wished me luck. We were greeted by water bottles (when getting hydrated for a race, this was a huge plus), and in the morning before the race, we were given goody bags. I really appreciated the curtousey the hotel gave to runners. The rooms were great, I wish I could have stayed for longer and enjoyed the amenities! Also, the hotel is right near a Stewart’s, so that was great for grabbing gas the night before the race. Only improvement would be for signage out near Stewart’s, we only turned in because we assumed there was no other road that could lead to the hotel.
I always appreciate the staff of this accommodation. They are friendly and helpful. They make you feel welcome. It has great amenities like fast WiFi. Usually 10Mps up and down. Able to complete all my work on my devices. The pool is warm and the breakfast is warm and tasty to get you started for the day.
The suite was spacious & clean for our family of 5. Loved having 2 separate bedrooms with their own TVs. Full kitchen was a bonus as well. Bathroom was small & cramped, especially being shared by 5 people. Breakfast had great variety, was tasty & the staff kept it well stocked. Pool and fitness center were clean & bright. Close to shopping.
This is how our trip was! It felt like home, because of all the conveniences of home; pantry, full kitchen, plates, pots and pans. I love to cook, we came to see our kids and grandkids. I was able to cook a home style meal for them. They loved my homemade mexican food! We had cereal, milk, snacks that were so great for the kids.! Conveniently located to stores, mall, and many restaurants. The staff were all very hospitable and very cheerful!
We visited and took a couple of rooms to visit our grand daughter at the local college (Hamilton). The location is very convenient to the college, restaurants and shopping. It is also fairly close to the interstate highways. They offer a light breakfast which was fine -- the other kids loved the waffles. We stayed an extra night and drove a few miles to a casino and had a good time. Close to the hotel there is also a theater complex.I traveled for business extensively for 25+ years and this location would be my preferred stop if I was working this area regularly.
Great service! We arrived at 950 PM and our 5 year old daughter had been talking about swimming all day. She was crushed when we explained that the pool closed at 10 and she would have to wait until morning. The manager checking us in saw how upset she was and told her that he would keep the pool open a little longer so she could swim. He made a customer for life! Hotel was top notch. Great room and unbeatable service.
Liked the Towneplace suites. 3 of us visited with a very small dog.The sleep sofa was new (like the hotel) but its mattress was thin and flimsy and not suitable for, well, sleeping (we planned on our son sleeping in it). When opened up, it was impossible to walk between the bed and the sofa. The pet charge of $125/night is way too high; it would be better to put down a cleaning deposit. Everything else was good. The hotels only a year old so its new. Staff is very friendly.
Not great for people with pet allergies as pets are permitted in rooms, the sound travels through the walls and floors so can be difficult to sleep. The breakfast was small, not much variety or choice. The rooms where clean with lots of amenities but are small/tight. The staff where great.
We were in the area for family funeral. We chose this hotel over the other local hotels for ability to gather Marriott points, suites available, location & price. This did not disappoint. The hotel is new, location was safe & convenient to highway. They could use better signage near the main road to direct you to the driveway. The suite choices were great for our other various family members with children. The rooms & hallways were clean, even the stairways which we used quite often were clean & carpeted.
My wife and I stayed for our 3rd anniversary and we both loved our stay! The room was very clean and decor was very modern, making us feel like we were home away from home. The staff was informative and helpful, they were also very kind and relatable. We will be staying again soon!
This hotel is awesome! The staff is very professional and friendly. Check In experience was quick! Bed was very comfortable and Netflix is included with the room so we watched a couple of movies. The breakfast was just the right amount of food to choose from and was very good! Great value for the money!! Will definitely stay here again!
Hotel was only a week old during my stay— take this with a grain of salt.Rooms are rather cramped, especially with an expanded pull-out couch. Furnished nicely, but lacks space for comfort!Pool is clean; however it isnt deep enough for anyone over 5 to swim in. (Only goes down to 4 deep) Somewhat accessible for the disabled as well.Breakfast is mediocre, too bad its self-service with no staff in sight. They have Nutella, thats a plus.Overall, dont expect too much from this place, its nothing spectacular.
This place is a dump! Its a shame too because its only a year old. Hotel is dirty, I mean nasty. My room wasnt clean when I checked in. Still had food and hair in all the drawers. Dishes were dirty. Carpet needed vacuumed. Laundry room is always dirty and usually stinks. The equipment is the gym is not wiped down unless you do it yourself. Food is atrocious! Staff doesnt care. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff and management of the Bonvoy. My husband and I had to do and extended stay while our house was being renovated; they were warm, friendly, and always professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I miss them already!
The rooms were very nice and had enough room in the 1 suite for 8 women to have hair and make up done before the wedding. The outdoor patio/fire pit area was very nice...great place to rewind after a busy day.The only complaint is the breakfast area is very small and the coffee was not good.
Convienent location. Room was very clean and looked almost unused. However, There was no hairdryer as advertised. The lobby area was poorly designed, breakfast area seemed messy. Lobby was outdated. The items for sale in the check in area added to the feeling of a lower class hotel. Overpriced. The digs in the breakfast area were off putting at best. Animal friendly us one thing but there are people who do not appreciate others animals around food.
This suite was refreshingly great. The closet door handle wasn’t secure, but that is my only issue. The bed was great, bathroom was nice, and breakfast was good (I wish there was some fruit). The staff was super nice and checked us in very easily. Parking was convenient, and local eateries were close by.
Great new hotel in New Hartford area. Remote check-in using Bon Voy app very helpful as we were on the road and hotel was a little out of the way from our business destination. Smartphone room key very nice allowing us to bypass the front desk altogether. Well appointed efficient kitchen, good size refrigerator, 2 burner stove, plenty of charging stations, big comfortable bed in a very reasonably priced room only couple miles from Thruway. Well definitely stay here again.
Excellent property, suites are large and the kitchen was great on my 2 week business trip. Free guest laundry is also an added bonus. Close top shopping and restaurants if you need anything. Staff is friendly and accommodating for anything you might need. Higley recommend this hotel!
This hotel suite (2-bedroom) is beautiful and pricey, but a good deal for the Utica area which is a bit non-competitive. Beds very comfortable. Easy parking and access. The pool was refreshing but a bit small. Breakfast could use some enhancements like fruit salad and pastries. Given the total picture, however, this suite is a must rent in this area when touring this area of Upstate New York.
I loved the place. They need a better selection of breakfast, like better meats and fresh fruit. Especially since its cold outside. Your gym could use a little work, atleast a pull up bar. Other than that it was a really nice stay. Its right next to everything you need.
Decent, newly built extended stay. Surprise to find HBO and Showtime as part of the TV line up.Both kitchen and bathroom sinks were clogged upon arriving. Not a deal breaker, but housekeeping should have known and reacted. Good lighting, clean and away from the main strips but conveniently located.Stayed for visit to Hamilton.
Ive been doing a lot of traveling lately and Ive stayed at a lot of awful hotels which is to be somewhat expected at the government per diem. However this Marriott sure didnt disappoint it was fantastic and better than any Hotel Ive stayed at with the military this far. The staff was friendly the room very open and clean and their gym was well stocked and nice to workout in.
I arrived on Monday evening at approximately 1830 pm for a 3 night stay and was greeted politely by 2 ladies (one appearing to be training the other) and checked into my room. At approximately 2130, I began to hear what sounded like a rather large dog barking profusely. My immediate thought was that the owner of the dog would respectfully understand that they are in a hotel and try to calm the dog down but that didnt happen. After 45 minutes, I was fed up and could not sleep and called the front desk asking for assistance. I called the front desk and was told that they would see what they could do. The barking commence and approximately 10 minutes later the lady at the front desk called and stated that there was nothing they could do and they werent sure how to tell which room it was coming from. I stated that is was very apparent to me and that they could probably hear it through the phone. The front desk person then said they could move me to another room but that should have obviously been a last resort. Why not remove the nuisance and not the customer attempting a resolution? I was then told that those people pay extra for a pet and nothing they could do. So you mean to tell me, since they pay more for a pet they are more deserving to a peaceful stay? This was absurd. I didnt want to get out of bed and repack all my clothes and switch rooms at 1000 pm.Night 2 was peaceful, I had hoped the disrespectful dog kennel had moved on. Night 3, the barking begins again. However, already knowing the front desk was not willing to help and that I was leaving in the morning knowing I would never return I fought through it. The final straw.... while checking out and obtaining my receipt the next morning, a different front desk lady asked me how my stay was. I said not that good hoping that she was concerned more than the night personnel. She immediately responds thats great. I repeated and stated that my stay was not that good as it was obvious she had a routine and prepared question for all folks that stay at the hotel. After I shared details of my treatment, I got an very unapologetic sorry to hear about that.
Decent price for a last minute booking during a Curling Bonspiel. Even had rooms for another night if we needed to stay. Room was nice, not as big as other places I’ve stayed in but perfect for my overnight trip. Only negative comment would be lack of signage from main road. I could see the building but was not sure where I needed to turn to get to hotel.
I stayed here while my son played at Cooperstown dream park. The ride was nice, no traffic. But it was 56 minutes away. We chose this place because it was a lot cheaper and nicer than anything close. We stayed in the two bedroom suite. It has television in each room as well as a/c, so that u can adjust each room to your liking. I loved that.
Dont spend money on there suites not clean couldnt take a shower because the drain was full of hair I took pictures I also told manager nothing was done my fiance had to clean it just so we could use the toilet we never showered never got any towels nothing entire time there also had to go get my own toilet paper!! the worst place I have ever been and I spent the most money for what?
The hotel was new and rooms updated. The hotel is located near mall, food, movie theater. Although the hotel is pet friendly, they charge a very steep one time price for your stay especially for one night. It was as much as my room. They also do not use a pet friendly ice salt and it gets dragged into the hallway rugs.
Dear Towne Place Suites,This was my 2nd time booking with youas my Dad resides in the Senior apartments behind your property.I throughly appreciated the location being walking distance from my Dadbut never expected such an abundance of amenities, cleanliness and efficient exceptional staff.Today when I checked out the Fathers Day gift bag a bottle of water, a power bar and a bag of M&Ms for my journey home was the most thoughtful gesture ever given to me and Im a frequent traveler. You won me over! I will forever book my repeated trips to Utica to visit my loved ones at your establishment andwe have a Big family whom I will informof your thoughtful gesture and 4Staraccommodations.Sincerely yoursVatalaro & Family
Friendly staff, very nice accommodations that are clean and modern. The free breakfast includes eggs, sausage, waffle maker, juice, muffins, xereal, etc. Nice swimming pool. Cold a/c. Rooms are very large and comfortable with a full size fridge, small couch, microwave, etc.
This is a nice clean place. We stayed here enroute to New York. It’s near an entrance to I-90. We had a King Suite. Bed is comfortable and there’s a sofa bed for our 3rd person. The breakfast is ok and standard for this level within the hotel chains. I agree with some of the comments that maybe some extra fruit will be nice. Staff at Chek in and breakfast were friendly.
Booked a 2 room suite for our families. Hotel over sold and switched is to a holiday inn with 1 room and 2 queen beds. We were told the room would be taken care of since it was not what we reserved and paid for. Room at holiday inn was billed at full rate and we have been promised a call back from management which has not happened after 3 days.
This hotel is quite modern with very spacious rooms, up-to-date appliances, and casual decor. I truly enjoyed the smart television in the room; it allowed me to access my nextflix and hulu accounts to watch movies during my stay. The only upset was the price. I felt the room was too expensive for the area.
Breakfast was not a $250 / night breakfast. Very small selection. No scrambled eggs. No fresh fruit! There is no hot tub .. brand new Marriott and no hot tub? King room was smallish, but closet space was nice. Dust on top of refrigerator. Dirty dishes in the cupboard.
There are so many problems with this brand new hotel that i suggest staying somewhere else. Too many problems for me to list. Staff is well aware of the problems yet nothing is being done. If you complain the hotel manager will retaliate. I have videos and pictures to prove everything I am saying. There are way nicer hotels in the area that were built out completey that do not have any issues and where management truly cares about their property and guests. I suggest doing your research before staying here. You will see we are not the only ones who have had problems with this place. Other places in town are cheaper too and will also meet and beat this places prices.
We booked a suite at the TownePlace Suites New Hartford well in advance of our childs college graduation. When we went to check in we were told the hotel had overbooked and there was no room for us. The clerk was very unpleasant and would not let us speak to a manager. The clerk said the hotel often overbooks. We refused to leave. The clerk tried to find another hotel in a different city (very inconvenient) - everything was booked. We insisted that a room be made available. Ultimately a room was miraculously found - but not without great aggravation. I advise people not to book a room at this hotel.
Stayed there while attending a conference in Oriskany, NY. It was $50 cheaper per night than Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn with AAA discount. Clean, great little office area and loved the kitchen. Pool and work out area was nice. Loved the hot breakfast too (serve yourself).
I stayed in the hotel’s two-bedroom suite and was later charged a $370 “cleaning fee”. Prior to check out I completed a cleaning and a thorough walk through and need less to say was shocked to later see the “cleaning fee” charge on my card. I spoke to hotel manager Kim Copeland who complained of the few bags of trash left at the door of the hotel. Kim also made false allegations of vomit inside the room and refused to provide any photos. Kim refused to provide additional details, stating that she did not see the room personally and that the cleaning staff could not speak English. The room is decent but the dirty tactics used by management to fatten the hotel’s profits are not worth a stay.
One of the better hotels I have stayed in when traveling in the Utica/Rome area. Clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel during the Christmas holiday and I could not have been any more satisfied with the room, staff, breakfast, and the amenities. The location is central to many stores and restaurants.
I was impressed by the quality staff, cleanliness and comfort we found during our stay. Attending a family funeral is never easy but it was good to have a comfortable place to rest. I recommended this place to two other family members who joined me there. We did not regret our choice.
Extremely nice hotel with large and well equipped rooms including a kitchen, desk, couch and generous room to live and work. The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were extraordinarily pleasant and helpful. Convenient location to a lot of nearby stores and restaurants as well.
The best place ive stayed ever while working on the road! 3/4 size fridge, oven, stovetop, and a dishwasher. pots and pans, dishes, silverware. everything down to dishsoap and dishtowels. made it very comfortable for long term stay. all the other hotels ive stayed in have those tiny fridges that dont even keep ice cream frozen. I wish there was one in New York state where im working now.
The old hometown has changed quite a bit since our last visit; there is a new convenience store on the way in to the Towne Place Suites that used to be the office location of my wifes former employer. We decided to splurge a little on the Towne Place Suites so we would be centrally located for our family visit and we were glad we did. It was well worth it - its a beautiful new hotel in the place we once called home...close to great food, country locale and the fall festivities we went for. We will be staying here again...next time!
This TownePlace Suites is conveniently located. The staff there is very friendly and the overall atmosphere is excellent. I wish they had a bar/restaurant on site but there were several nearby so not that big of a deal. I would recommend not only this particular location but TownePlace Suites overall to anyone looking to stay in a well maintained, clean, comfortable, home-away-from-home environment for either business or personal stays.
We asked if there was a pet fee over the phone, and they said no. When we arrived, we were informed the pet fee was $125, which is more than the room itself. All while this is happening, there were a bunch of drunks yelling, cursing, and making racist remarks in the parking lot. Crazy how they can justify prices like that all while doing nothing about drunks in their parking lot. Youre much better off at any other hotel in the area.
I had a nice stay, i was presenting an elder home care seminar, i was so tired afterwards the beds were comfy i fell right to sleep. They had the average tv package, as well as room amenities, i was very very happy with the amount of outlets,as i need tablet, cell, and laptop. I had ok breakfast nothing special overall good place for work stays.
I stopped in to provide my credit card and guest names for a reservation and I spoke with the acting manager. She stated she would specifically jot down notes to let her staff know that a credit card would not be taken upon check in as I was paying for the room (and she swiped my card right then and there). I received an email receipt around 230 AM showing a completely different card. I called them up around 7 am to inquire and they had no idea of anything but could see my card swiped. They wanted me to provide my credit card number over the phone again to switch payments. At that point I felt a lack of security since my information was already ran and I refused to give them number over the phone. Disappointing as I specifically spoke to a manager about what was to be done earlier in the day!
We cant say enough positive things about our stay here. Since my wife is disabled, we need to stay at hotels that are clean, comfortable and as stress-free as possible. TownePlace New Hartford fit our needs 100%. Our thanks to all of the staff for helping to provide a pleasurable stay from start to finish. We are expecting our first grandchild in January 2018 and will return to the area in December 2017. We definitely will be staying at TownePlace for this and future visits.
Well there was still garbage from the previous person who stayed in the room I was in. Some Chinese and other things. We were here for a week and they don’t change or clean anything while you stay here you have to go about it yourself. But I’m Goni g to see if our company will take business else where I’m sure another place would love to have our crew and money we spend on this place
The management at this hotel called the police because we were late for checking out by 30 minutes past check-out time which they initially approved. This was after we told the staff we would running a few minutes late for checkout due to unforeseen difficulties in securing a rental car for travel. I stayed in communication with the hotel once we found out we would be late. I called twice updating them to our situation and the manager called me a liar over the phone. The staff/management did not offer to charge us a late fee, they simply called the police who came to the hotel room, said it was a civil matter and left. My 17 year old daughter was alone in the room during this incident, the staff kept knocking on the door, telling her they were going to call the police and had no regard for the fact that they were frightening her. I called Marriott corporate office who basically explained to me that local properties using the Marriott name have the discretion to treat check-out and handle customers in whatever manner they chose. I would not recommend this hotel due to the the way the staff treats their customers.
I called and asked if there might be a lower rate for a 2BR Suite.Do you have a AAA rate? Answer: That would be 159.00 (which is higher than widely available)Do you have a military / government discount? Answer: Not for that room. What sort of hotel charges MORE for their discount rates than the widely available rates elsewhere and recognizes govt/ military discounts but only for certain rooms. Sometimes military people too need separate bedrooms in their party. I felt compassion for the lack of awareness from the person I was speaking with - completely unaware or uncaring as to why I might be disappointed at these answers. The actual answers were no, actually we punish people for having AAA, not help them. And haha no, we only give lower rooms to military people - I was treated like a 4th class passenger on the titanic.Ill be in the area frequently over the next 4 years and I will take my business elsewhere.
Poor management of this property. They jack the rates for a high demand weekend but didnt think about adding staff and a full-time manager for this special weekend. They knew about it well in advance since rates were increased almost a year ahead. I would not recommend this property if the management doesnt change. The one particular manager on staff to assist was less than concerned about resolving our issue. Very unfortunate.
This hotel is advertised as new..., and it may be but its poorly constructed..., doors didnt latch, poorly painted, couch was ripped, curtains were falling off the track.Been a big fan of Marriott over the years..., as of last year was had elite status..., this is not there best work!

2022-05-01Very friendly arrival experience. Bravo. All the TVs in the suite had remote issues and were most of the time useless. Internet TV was very slow and unresponsive. There was some nasty staining on one of the bedroom doors which we didnt see until bedtime. Dishes were left in the dishwasher and not in cabinets. Not a good feel

2021-08-30Everyone was friendly, helpful and kind. The assortment at breakfast was very sufficient, whether hot or cold. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. The hotel was nice overall and the parking was sufficient. The location worked well for us as it was near our specific nursing home that we would visit a few times a day.And is very close to good stores and restaurants.

2021-08-28Everything was good at this location. The evening check in gal was very nice and accommodating. The night desk person never lifted his head when we entered a few times. The weekend breakfast was closed 45 minutes early and both days the hit portions remained empty the whole time we were there. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Location worked perfectly for us. We will be looking to return.

2021-07-20We were in town for a family wedding. I booked two two-bedroom suites. My two sisters and I stayed in one and my sons stayed in the other right down the hall. There was plenty of room for all of us, plus entertaining other family members before and after the ceremony. Very comfortable and clean. The front desk people were all very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay and pretty convenient to all the places we need to go.

2021-09-17I have stayed at this hotel in the past pre-covid with no issues. This hotel felt and was dirty. My bathroom floor and shower was dirty as well as had hair. There was a questionable stain on mattress pad. Employees did not all have masks on. No one at counter when I arrived and i had to wait a couple minutes for someone to show up. Hotel is older and is definite need of an upgrade.

2021-05-17We had a good experience here. The unit was very clean, the beds were comfortable, kitchen well appointed. The alterations theyve made for covid were totally appropriate but also didnt negatively affect our stay. Hospitality staff will come by and not enter the room, but empty trashcans if you leave them outside. They also still do provide housecleaning services no matter how long your stay UNLESS you flip the sign indicating you dont want them. They still served a pretty decent breakfast, the staff was exceptionally kind with my unruly three year old who was super jazzed about the pool and tracked water everywhere, and the pool is available if you reserve a one hour timeslot ensuring youre the only guests using it.
