TownePlace Suites by Marriott New York ManhattanTimes Square in New York
Terrible for a Marriott. There’s only one elevator for 7+ floors and that one elevator is slow and noisy. I was up all night hearing it bang every time it moved. Also- the beds they say are queen beds are not queen beds. They are full beds. I said something to the front desk about the bed being a full not queen and the very kind concierge said “everyone says that! But we only have queens.” I PROMISE it was not a queen.Bad toiletries in bathroom as well. Very cheap. Will not return.
Only stayed one night, but it was a nice place. Its on the edge of everything, walking distance to food, shopping, theaters, pretty much anything you want. The hotel itself was clean, friendly staff, but finally on the smaller side. Since its so close to everything, it wasnt exactly quiet outside, but that was too be expected.
If your main requirement is to get a good nights rest this more than fills the bill! Clean room, bedding & bathroom. Nice kitchenette for one night or several. Helpful friendly staff. Good security measures in place!Breakfast is basic continental fare, coffee, juice, muffins, cereal. Many local eateries nearby. Walking distance to theaters, restaurants, Port Authority bldg., and much more! We would happily stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay! First of all the location is just perfect!! 3 mins to Times Square and close to all restaurants. The staff was friendly and they accommodated our later departure by moving our check-out time one hour. The room had everything we needed - we really loved it had a small kitchen there! The size of the room was also quite nice - smallish but just as needed. Everything was clean, mattress was comfortable and it was quiet at night. Totally recommend and would love to stay here again!
The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. This hotel is in the theatre district and close to all midtown, west side restaurants. We were in a room with a small outdoor uncovered patio . Rooms are mostly narrow and small, because the building is extremely narrow and about 20 stories, very common with converted spaces in old cities, like NYC . Overall, our room was clean, bed sheets, bathroom and blankets, likewise.
I liked the location, close to times square and subway. Staff very friendly. We arrived very early in the morning and room was not ready and the hotel does not keep the luggage due to Covid (however, they receive Amazon packages!) and check in was at 4 p.m. The lady made it possible to give us a room 2 hours later while we had breakfast nearby. Some opportunities in cleanning in those small and hidden places. Kitchen great to reduce trip expenses.
Staff gave out outstanding service. Was able to help out with ANYTHING. It’s the perfect location for the hotel. Not to far from food, transportation, as well as entertainment. Hotel was very pet friendly. Love how the building is set up in general. Like how you need you keycards for everything down to the entrance door to the elevator. It made me feel safe as me and my family stay there. I would recommend people to stay here and I would come back my self. The only problem is that they don’t have double bed rooms and a swimming pool, as well as vending machines but other than that it’s a really good hotel
I stayed here for 12 days while I recovered from a surgery I flew to NYC to have done. The location was amazing being so close to Times Square. My room was small and quiet but was fine for what I needed it for. The front desk workers were always very kind. My only complaints are that I wish they had some form of continental breakfast. At least something pre-packaged because their room service is very pricey. I also wish they held luggage for you because I had to get to my flight 4 hours early due to having nowhere to store my luggage. Other than that I had a great stay. I would definitely stay here again!
Everything was great! One of the rooms was small but had a big balcony and the other room was larger with a small balcony. The small balcony had a chair that did need to be replaced. The light in the bathroom continued to come on throughout the night but the other room’s bathroom light was fine. Not sure what was going on with my light but it did wake me up. I’m sure it would’ve been fixed had I told someone but never did. Rooms appeared clean and were comfortable for our two day stay to see a Broadway show. The staff were friendly, respectful, and professional. José was BEYOND thoughtful and supportive. He hailed a taxi for us and assisted us with placing our luggage in the trunk. The only issue we had was a party going on past 11 pm and the hallways are very small but this is NYC which it is to be expected. That night we tried calling but for some reason we didn’t really understand the instructions on how to call the front desk. What we dialed sent us somewhere else. Most likely our oversight. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place and we would definitely stay again. Oh, we loved all the lovely restaurants on the backside of the building that were literally 2 mins from the front door. Also, the theaters and Time Square was right there within a few minutes from the hotel. Thank you all for everything!*I do need to see if I left my iPad 😞.
I thought the room was fine and the front desk staff were nice but the hotel itself had zero amenities available. No food, no housekeeping, essentially no reason to stay here instead of an Airbnb. The one thing they had was a gym but their storage room is inside and staff constantly walked through and made comments for me to move and I was in the way of staff. It’s a tiny room anyway and makes no sense they way they’ve set it up. The elevator also takes forever and there is only one, just generally had nothing good to say about it.
Room was surprisingly big for a studio suite. Had a kitchenette with burners, mini fridge, microwave and dishwear. Great if you trying to watch your budget. Bath was clean and pretty big, air con was perfect for the hot summer. Prime location to restaurant rowe and Times Square.
Very welcoming staff, efficient check in and out. Asked for more towels and they were promptly delivered. Location iedeal. Easy access to subway, very near Times Square. Really good restaurants nearby. Covid protocols in place so now hot breakfast, but grab and go with yogurt and granola bar, fruit. Very pleased overall.
Decent select-service hotel close to Times Square. Small rooms with kitchenettes. Clean. No hot breakfast due to Covid and staffing issues. No complaints really, I was not there very long. Did not love it but I just needed a place to sleep after an event so it worked out fine.
This was my second time staying at the TownPlace Suites Manhattan. You can not beat the location (a five minute walk from Times Square with restaurants and Bodegas surrounding the area), and the staff is always super friendly. The rooms themselves are always sparkling clean, and tidy..the kitchen is also a great plus (all updated appliances) if youre staying for an extended period of time. I stayed here for two weeks earlier this year so the kitchen was a must!
I am a health care provider who initially stayed there as result of the COViD crisis at which time I found management and staff to be especially warm and accommodating. After crisis ended, I continued to stay until I found a new apartment in the neighborhood. I was actually reluctant to leave as I felt so at home there! I will always remember this great hotel and the wonderful staff who make it such superior place to stay.
We were greeted with the most pleasant and professional staff at the front desk it a lady and gentleman. They were welcoming and answered all our questions. the room was clean to standard and we were able to even sneak in an afternoon nap and it was quiet. We will definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
The only bad part was trying to get someone on the phone. IMPOSSIBLE to reach the desk when calling from outside. We called days ahead and the morning of our arrival. Ridiculous. Finally found CHAT which helped a lot but they even said CALL when you get to town. There is no calling. It doesnt work and you cant get the desk of the location you are staying. The employees when there were excellent!!Maria and many more were great. The employees who brought things to the room were fabulous and advice from the desk, great. All very pleasant. The phone system calling them from outside the hotel is horrible.
The staff was amazing. Very friendly and courteous and they all went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. The location of the hotel was great. Just two blocks away from the center of Time Square. The room itself was very disappointing. The room was very small and the kitchen was tiny without many of the basic items you needed. I picked this hotel because I wanted a kitchen and was very disappointed in the end. No knife. The room had 2 pots and they didn’t even have lids. This was probably the worse sleep I’ve ever had in a Marriott. AllNight there was a loud knocking above like they were doing work or something. Overall a very disappointing stay.
Value deal!Great price, a few walking blocks from Time Square. Clean. Great customer service from staff. 2 burner stove top, microwave, dishwasher and mini fridge. Big enough walk in shower.CONS: Thin walls.Food delivery will not come to your room, you have to go pick up from the lobby.
Not a bad place, but I’m not sure I’d come back. The motion sensor lights in the rooms are awful. They turned off while I was in the shower, and turned on every night in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. The bed was comfortable & my room was clean. The courtyard was cute, but my door outside did not lock which was super creepy. At around 8 am every day, doors in the hallway were slamming left and right. I think it’s because I was near the housekeeping storage. One last thing, there was no coffee in the lobby which I was very sad about but Vanilla Gorilla Cafe is right next door and was so good! Everyone was always very nice to me when I came and when I left. The whole lights thing was really annoying though.
From the moment we got in touch with Zonia to make a reservation, to getting checked in and out by Marie, the entire experience was amazing. I have not complaints at all. The entire staff was excellent and the hotel was very clean and at a great location. Will definitely stay here again.
The place was small but it is New York. It was clean but had a hole in the carpet from someone smoking. They lied about parking. The reservation woman and then the front desk told me that parking with the discount would be 40$ it was 70$. We would have parked elsewhere via parking panda for cheaper. We werent expecting to pay that much in parking and the reason we chose this hotel is because the parking garage was cheaper than any other hotel we called nearby. And we asked for a later check out, the front desk agreed. When we came back our key wouldnt work because he forgot to put it in the computer.
My husband and I had coinciding meetings in midtown so we had to figure out a plan for our dog - luckily we found the Townesuites! It was clean, pet friendly, and impeccably sound proofed. The stay was comfortable and they didn’t charge some of the insane NIGHTLY pet sanitation fees of other Hotels. We will definitely be back!
I am a frequent traveler so wanted to share my thoughts Room photos are deceiving. Very small, poor quality craftsmanship. Very warn furniture. Has 50 k free night certificate but Marriott has decided to devalue so much they force you to go to their poor quality hotels. They play games with availability at he nice hotels. Have cancelled my Marriott 50k free night AMEX card already and leaving Marriott for good. My experience with other hotels is much better. I have been Bonvoyed for the last time
Pre-covid I traveled to Manhattan at least once per year, mostly for business but always a pleasure, my entire adult life - nearly 50 years. Being were in Covid times and avoiding restaurants, looked for a decent place with kitchenette. Was surprised to find Townplace suites well within our budget with all the features we wanted. Kitchenette included small fridge, combined micro-wave/convection oven and dishwasher. Comfortable, clean, conveniently located in the heart of the theatre district - not going to theatre, theyre all closed - but can get anywhere quickly from here.
I stayed here for 3 nights...what can I say? The total was SUPPOSE to be $285. I checked in the day before I got there through the mobile app, when I did that the hotel charged my card for the “first night”. I called too see what else I had to pay before I got there I was told $150 for the rest of the nights since they already took about $150 from my card the first night. When I got to the hotel to check in, I had to pay the rest of the room. (This was $200...) After paying about $350 with no complaints even though that’s not what my confirmation said, I was then told to swipe my card again for the $150 incidentals “hold”! I pay the money with no issue and no questions. I got to the room, my wash cloth had stains and the refrigerator did not close. The elevator takes FOREVER and you need a key to work it(it’s a pain by the way, it takes multiple scans of your key card to get the elevator to move). The second day I get a call from the front desk telling me that I have to come pay MORE MONEY (about $230) because I didn’t pay for the 2 other nights that I was staying there(even though I did pay, the previous day when I checked in) I was furious. I told them I would come down, crying from all the stress they were causing since I planned to hang out and they kept taking money! I then got a call saying it was a mistake and it wasn’t in the system or something. The person that worked at the front desk laughed it off when my boyfriend told them how upset I was at this “mistake in the system”, although I found nothing about this situation funny. You can barely sleep due to the auto lights that turn on if you move a damn toe! They also put us right next to the janitors closet, we constantly heard noise or loud doors slamming. The person in the room above from me smoked marijuana and would dump ashes and left over joints in my court yard...I had to spend a lot of my time cleaning that up so the hotel wouldn’t charge me and take the $150 deposit since it is a “smoke free establishment”. Although the weed smell coming through the vent tells otherwise! Honestly the kitchenette & location is the best thing about this place. I expect WAY MORE from a MARRIOT hotel! Basically if you want to relax and be stress free for a couple days DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL. DO NOT!
Location is great. Staff did their best. We booked this hotel to be able to take advantage of the kitchen facilities. Most items were missing and were informed that guests steal them. We never got the kitchen items that were missing. Staff said an order would be in, in a couple weeks.
The front desk staff was stellar. The room walls are paper thin so don’t expect to sleep great. Our lights had a weird issue where they would turn on unexpectedly. Room was clean, housekeeping was great. Refrigerator froze our food even after turning down cooling to almost none. We loved the patio. Lots of smokers stay here apparently. It’s ok if you’re on a tight budget otherwise go elsewhere.
Cleanliness could be upped a notch! The Marriott name should be synonymous with Excellence, or at least Very good, but that wasnt the case this time around as far as cleanliness goes. One of the tv channels in the room talks about the attention they pay to cleanliness, I just wish what is portrayed in that channel was all true. I will say this however, I stayed at this location in July 2020, & it was exceptionally clean, but this time around the hotel wasnt having the best of days in the cleanliness department.
Had to stay in hotel on arrival from International travel before could get test for Covid. The hotel is very conveniently located and well maintained with high standard of cleanliness. The room is well furnished with kitchnette which allowed me to have food as per my choice and convenience.
The carpeting in room ripped. No breakfast nor coffee. Which you dont find out untill After you book and pay! Staff could not care if you are elite or not.No room upgrades. No one cares at this hotel anymore!!!When it first opened it was a treat to stay here...Not anymore!!!!!Much better options
Just spent 5 nights at this facility and overall it was a good experience. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Only negative things we experienced was that our room did not have a television remote and I could not figure out how to turn on the TV manually. No big deal since we didnt come to NY to watch TV anyway. Also, our room faced the street and it was sometimes noisy but despite that, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a place near Times Square .
This hotel is such a disappointment. The room is no bigger than the bed. There is no chair or desk as no room so we have to work sitting on the bed. Room smells stale. Sheet has a stain. Carpet has cigarette burns. I stay over 75 nights per year and have stayed at Towneplace suites before but this is the worst one. I am so sad I picked this hotel. However it does have a good bathroom shower and the exhaust fan actually works. That is a plus. Still the room was too small for us and ruined the stay and the worst Marriott hotel we have ever stayed at.
I stayed here 5 nights and it was used just to sleep & shower. It has a kitchenette but the pot was filthy, 1 glass, 4 cups, 6 forks, 1 knife and NO spoons. The bathroom sink has stains, as if it hasnt been cleaned properly. The bed is more like a full size not a queen. The carpet has burn marks, its not a bad place just not the best. They have a shelter setup in the hotel. Doesnt feel safe. But the staff on the other hand are very friendly and pleasant!!
We arrived to the hotel early, they let us check in early with no extra fee, which was awesome after a long day of traveling. The rooms are small but very clean and modern. The location can’t be beat, you are close to all the fun in Times Square, Bryant park and Central Park but the street the hotel is on is actually more quiet. Overall great place, highly recommend!!
This hotel had friendly staff with great service. Centrally located, near all the subway lines, lots of food and shopping nearby and the room had everything I needed for my 1 month stay. They had lots of different room lay-outs and I was able to get one that had a alcove to keep all my suitcases (I had 4 big ones!) Everything functioned properly, and I completely enjoyed my stay.
The accommodations were very stripped down. I picked it for location and it said breakfast was included. When I got there I found out there was no breakfast nor housekeeping service. My friend stayed in a much fancier place around the corner that DID include breakfast and cost less than what I paid. The upside of this stay was the front desk staff. They were excellent.
Had a great one night stay. Had the pleasure of meeting hotel staff from three different shifts, all were incredibly polite and professional. We were greeted each time we walked in or out. Were given full information on hotel, WiFi, breakfast and area without asking. Room was ready early, and was clean, with plenty of bath towels. Kitchenette was fabulous and noise from street level was almost non existent, our room was even right next to the elevator and didn’t hear it once! But aside from the great location to catch a show or for some excellent restaurants, it’s the staff that won me over. I honestly believe you have the friendliest staff in all of Manhattan. Thanks to all of them who made our stay quite comfortable.
I will never stay there again. We had to change rooms because the smell of marijuana on the 7th floor was sooo strong. We began to have trouble even breathing and our eyes were watery. We had to leave the hotel to just get fresh air. The bathroom was dirty and we only had two towels. When you showered water would escape and fill the bathroom floor. We complained and changed rooms. The hallway and elevator in the new tower also smelled like marijuana at different times throughout the day. I didn’t know if we were staying at a Marriott or a stash house for marijuana. It was to the point that I was going to have to call the police. When we complained, they told us that that would have security take a look. When we checked back in the evening (about 6 hours later), they still hadn’t checked and the smell of marijuana continued in the new tower where we moved to.The staff sounded like they really didn’t care. When I asked the front desk, there was a person just sitting there in the lobby and he overheard me and clearly got upset that I would be pushing for some security to take action.... any action. Many times we encountered individuals trying to ride the elevator without a room key. One guy had been up and down about 4 or 5 times attempting to get to a certain floor, before I never saw him again. I told him to go to the front desk but he refused, so it led me to believe that he was not staying there. Not secure, not safe, and not what Marriott represents.
I really loved the place and the staff. The location is super central, the hotel very new, comfy and big enough rooms. I got one with plenty of light and quiet despite being in the heart of Times Square with was perfect to have a good rest and be fresh to go to work. The breakfast is decent. I found the staff extremely accommodating, specially the front desk, they were helpful with every request and I found a type of kindness and care that I never experienced in other hotels around the same price range in New York (i.e they offered to have breakfast while doing an early check in, updated the room type and offered some food items despite of having the finished the breakfast time). I really loved this place and would defo be in here again, thanks so much for making my stay memorable.
Affordable and in excellent condition with a friendly helpful staff O found this to be the perfect location and size for time-square-centric conferences and business. With ample power outlets and an excellent mini-kitchen, it made what is a typically small NYC size room work and gave plenty of bathroom space as well. Everything was up to date and the security features of the hotels were appreciated. My only request for what will be future stays is an upgraded breakfast menu. While everything was well maintained and clean, the food was especially bland, with limited variety. In my mind a minor issue for what was overall an excellent stay.
It was great. Love the atmosphere, central location near Times Square, front desk was nice and even the smallest rooms are for NYC extra big. Warning: depending on who security is they will keep check on who is going to what room and charge you for extra people above the 2 allowed. Other than that, nice place.
It was terrible, reserved two rooms, but did not get into the 2nd room till 6pm as they stated it was a late check out and they blamed it on cleaning of the room. They did not even call me to tell me the room was ready, I found out when I came back from eating. Additionally, the rooms were dirty and what upset me is that they stated the reason why the 2nd room was not ready was due to the thorough cleaning. I wiped the floor one time with a baby wipe and it was dirty. Just very unhappy, especially staying at a whole bunch of Marriott hotels, being a Gold elite member. Next time will walk down half a block and stay at the Marriot Marquis!
I want to write a great review because this hotel was above what we expected, being so close to times square. But i dont want the hotel to run out of rooms when we come back!I plan on going back. Its within walking distance to food, entertainment, parking and more. Shhh tell the others but not too much.
TownePlace Suites Times Square is a nice hotel only two blocks from Times Square. The staff was amazing and the location cannot be beat and it is quiet! We stayed on the 6th floor and often took the stairs down, which were also clean and well lit. The elevator was fine (you need your key to access) and there were no major delays, the stairs were just our preference. Be advised, the rooms are small- We had a King plus pull out. The pull out was twin size and if pulled out, you had to crawl over it to get to the restroom. But, the bed was comfortable and one of the windows would open, which was nice to enjoy the beautiful weather. Breakfast was not the best, but it was free and sufficient to get the day started. No crazy lines or congestion for breakfast either which was nice. There is a waffle station, bagels, whole fruit, eggs, cheese, meat and yogurt etc. Also, It would have been nice to have complimentary water in the guest rooms, but they did have a water station in the lobby. In spite of the above, I would absolutely stay here again!! Location- Superb!, Staff- Superb! (Wilfredo!) and overall Good vibe.
I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were instantly very friendly and helpful. The location is also excellent. It was very close to Times Square. The rooms come with a kitchenette, which was very convenient. I would definitely love to stay at this place again. 10/10
This was the second time I have stayed at a TownePlace Suites. We were a family group on a sightseeing vacation and rented 3 rooms. I was happy to find that the hotel was only one year old. I did an extensive search for our hotel for the family group and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Loved the modern, compact design of the rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the hot breakfast, that is included in the hotel stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Marie Lowe, Guest Services Representative, she helped make our stay very special and she greeted us warmly in the small lobby area, which by the way, always provides coffee and ice water throughout the day. I would happily recommended this hotel to anyone wanted to stay in midtown near the theaters. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. The elevators were a bit slow but we stayed on the second floor and used the stairs.
Our first stay at TownePlace Suites was very nice. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our experience. We were pleasantly greeted and welcomed from the start and the level of friendly service continued until we checked out. NYC needs more places like this. The room was comfortable and we love having the accessibility to the amenities the rooms offer. The rooftop patio is a cool benefit as well. Breakfast was better than I’ve seen at other lodgings. I’d recommend this place and will likely return.
We had a great experience at this hotel. Every member of the staff we met was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern and the location is great. The continental breakfast was good, we ate towards the end of breakfast time and some items had run out. The only complaint we have is the bathroom did not have a place to hang towels. We would definitely stay again.
This hotel was a great find! We have been very happy with our accommodations and will likely return when we are back in town again. The only quirk so to speak which was really more of a miscommunication is that we were told when we booked over the phone they would be doing grab-and-go breakfast similar to what weve seen at other hotels for a pandemic breakfast. This was not the case. Not a big deal as we dont really eat much breakfast anyways but just be aware of that. Overall though very happy with this place and the service provided! Would definitely recommend.
Studios are really tiny but basically with kitchenette and small sofa , everything you need just not Gina be able to move a lot :) I have only few things that I didn’t like, first hotel entrance with two doors for people with disabilities so you have to use key and press to open, twice, and they are really really slow Second, one very slow elevator And third I get kitchen without paper towel, dishwasher without detergent or sponge... like I stayed 2 days and what I was supposed to buy bottle of dishwashing soap? And cleaning products? Also I’m after check in I found in room only two shower towels, no hand towels , no body lotion... that are things that were little annoying and doesn’t make sense. Other than that great place
Very comfortable and clean stay! Very quiet and private which is what I needed. Room service to order food wasnt available due to covid-19 I believe but there are restaurant in the area to go to. Room was very clean and nice. This would be my third time staying at this hotel so I really do like this hotel! Lol
In May 2019, I stayed at the Towneplace Suites by Marriot Manhattan / Times Square for about 6 nights with my partner. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable about the area. We were able to take advantage of many of the stay amenities, including the onsite fitness and the complimentary breakfast. We stayed on the 7th floor of the hotel and while the room was a bit dim and loud (when the windows were open), it was a wonderful room for our stay. We were able to use the kitchenette on occasion as well, and felt it was wonderful to be able to prepare food in the comfort of our hotel room. Overall, we would return to the location and am extremely satisfied with the service provided.
Such a beautiful, clean and wonderful hotel. The staff were very friendly. Me and my wife enjoyed a two night stay. The rooms were well arranged, we had access to a microwave and a dishwasher to do dishes. The beds were very comfortable and the scene through the windows was extravagant. Will recommend this hotel to anyone.
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay. The staff are so friendly and efficient. The breakfasts are plentiful and the location is very central but in a side street although busy. The hotel was run well and was very clean and warm. So easy to reach Times Sq. from where access to all Manhattan is available. Would most definitely recommend this hotel to people of all ages. Really pleasant atmosphere throughout during our ten day stay.
We chose Manhattan to celebrate our honeymoon and this hotel was a great choice for all we wanted to see and do. I was stressed because our original flight was to arrive at 2 was cancelled and we were on the early flight arriving at 11. I didnt know if wed be able to leave our luggage or logistics before check in. Although check in isnt until 4, after explaining our situation the desk agent called housekeeping and had a room for us to check in within 20 minutes. That was a huge relief. We found the room clean, comfortable (the bed especially) and quite roomy for a Manhattan hotel. Theres ample room in the bathroom and includes a kitchenette as well. It is very centrally located to the theatre district, times square, dining and many sight seeing destinations. The location also seemed very safe/secure. I forgot to mention how pleasant every staff member was from front desk, late night and housekeeping. The proverbial icing on the cake was a nice congratulatory note celebrating our marriage and a complimentary bottle of wine found upon our return from sight seeing.
The staff were amazing, making us feel at home by greeting us every time we entered the lobby and taking the time when they were not supporting other guests to inquire about our experiences in the hotel and city. Relationships matter and this staff is superb! The hotel room and lobby were comfortable and decorated well. We enjoyed the daily breakfast, which even included a soy milk option. The eggs, meat, waffles, yougurt, fruit, hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese, along with muffins and danish were a great way to start a day of site seeing. All that along with milks, coffees, teas, juices and hot chocolate for the kiddos and young at heart. Also, we were right by a subway stop and street vendor with great Gyros and Burgers if you are just too worn out for a full dinner experience.Thank you for having us TownePlace, see you next time!
The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly the location is great. However there rooms are too small. Also I could here my neighbors casual conversation. That is difficult enough and it makes a romantic getaway impossible when you hear children in the next room. There is only one elevator and it is SLOW! If you like ice, its first floor only. Not a terrible hotel by any stretch, but definite room for improvement.
The hotel well exceeded my expectations. I had expected 3-star service at this 3-star hotel, but was delightfully surprised when the hotel generally was new, modern and clean and the service from staff exceptional. The rooms are compact, but were perfect for a single person travelling for extended business. The room amenities were quality and well thought compared to similar accommodation I have stated at in NY.The hotel staff were always helpful and welcoming, whether front desk, housekeeping or front-door.Location wise it is centrally located for all the usual NY attractions as well as easy access to metro. The street facing rooms are a little noisier particularly over the weekend, so if you want a quiet room request a courtyard facing room - they also have larger windows and get plenty of natural light.
Therere not many hotels which accommodate 3 adults in a room with kitchenette and free breakfast for this reasonable price near Times Squre. It was so convenient to walk around all directions. We used a free certificate and they generously upgraded our room. The room was very big, clean, and comfortable. Only thing we didnt like was hearing neighbors voices from next room probably because theyre connecting rooms. But otherwise very quiet from outside noise. Over all we loved and enjoyed our stay.
We just left the TownePlace suites and had an amazing experience. First off, the location is excellent and accommodating to everything you’d want to do while visiting NYC. It’s two blocks from Times Square, the port authority terminal, and tons of great food on restaurant row. Secondly, the staff was incredibly friendly, recommending great restaurants/things to do. In addition, the hotel was clean and had everything you could possibly want (including a nice continental breakfast and iced water/coffee at all times in the lobby.) The rooms are fully stocked with coffee maker, refrigerator, iron, microwave, etc. Despite our room facing the street it was even quiet in the evenings. We had a great stay and I would HIGHLY recommend TownePlace Times Square NYC to others.
Overall this hotel far exceeded my expectations. The location is amazing—just two blocks from the 42nd St Subway station. The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast buffet was perfect for getting the day started. The rooms are small (it is NY after all), but well designed. There’s also a beautiful rooftop to enjoy a drink outside before heading out for the night. Despite being so close to Times Square, the hotel was quiet and it was very easy to get everywhere in the city. Overall I’d pick this hotel over any of the other Marriott properties due to its prime location and value for the money.
The location is amazing to see the best of NYC and is located across from the train station. There are an endless option of food at all times as there is a major strip of restaurants around the corner. The rooms are well decorated, economic and cozy. Their fitness center is open. Their nighttime staff can use a lesson in making people feel welcome but the daytime staff make up for it.
Great location and well-appointed rooms, although our room was devoid of chairs for some reason... Breakfast was great and the staff is great. There is no issue with elevators as there are two of them, as well as two sets of stairs. The only reason I rated this hotel at four - instead of five - stars is the lack of any parking lot affiliation. It took me an hour and a half to find a parking lot (7 blocks away) that would let me store my vehicle, which is a full-size pickup truck. I was lucky this time...
This hotel allows pets and I wasn’t aware until I arrive because it’s not listed on the main page it’s listed under amenities tab and once I knew this property didn’t have pool that was honestly a tab I didn’t even view. Not only are they welcomed as guest the dogs get to WELCOME guest checking into the property because they were allowed to walk around common area like the lobby with no leashes, which was a surprise to me because I wasn’t aware they were even allowed until I was checking in and was approached by a leash less dog at check in, and then later that night another leash less dog was standing at the door so we had to walk pass to get out of the property kn our way to dinner!
Our amazing stay started before we even arrived. I reached out to the hotel with a special request to help with a marriage proposal. The staff immediately jumped in and helped plan and execute a great evening on the roof top deck. The hotel staff greeted us warmly and each day always welcomed us back from our adventures with a smile and kind words. Our rooms were well sized for a NYC room and easily accommodated 3 adults in each room. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel staff anticipated our needs and offered solutions with directions to local businesses and continued to inquire if we needed any adjustments for our stay. The morning breakfast options were varied and always well stocked. The area was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. The hotel has taken care to maintain security which provided peace of mind which was important to our family, traveling with many children. We visit NYC often and this hotel was picked for its location. It is perfectly situated to visit Broadway, Times Square, shopping and within walking distance to many great restaurants. This hotel, and its staff are a perfect combination for a wonderful NYC trip, for business or pleasure, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend staying at TownePlace Suites NYC and we will return again on our next trip.
Our stay started with a warm greeting from Marie (I believe that was her name) who smiled and just could not be any more pleasant to speak to. She, was exceptionally warm towards my wife and son. She even gave my two year old son a small case of animal bath toys which he absolutely loved. Small touches like this make a lasting first impression all hotels should strive for. The room itself was small, but come on people. It is Manhattan in the middle of Times Square. Get over it. The kitchen was a great size, and extremely well stocked. Bathroom was clean and modern. Only complaint is that the room did not have a desk. For business travelers that has to be a deal breaker. We were there on pleasure so not too much of an impact. Secondly, there is no room for storing folded clothes. Another annoyance because with an already small room, storing an open bag on the floor is a challenge. That needs to be addressed. Aside from that, great stay and strongly recommend.
Recently, we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while visiting family. The location being a couple of blocks off Times Square and close to transportation was convenient. The condition of the hotel and amenities was fine. Overall it was clean and adequate for a New York hotel which tend to be smaller rooms than other parts of the country in case you are not expecting that. However what made this hotel excellent was the friendliness of the staff. They were terrific. Very sincere, welcoming and helpful. Always greeting you as you came in and left and always looking to be helpful to your needs. The staff make this hotel excellent. If it were not for the staff I would rate it as a good or ok hotel. I would stay here again because of the staff.
We had an exceptional stay at the TownPlace Suites Manhattan/Times Square during our family trip! The staff made all the difference in the world. I travel frequently for business - but cannot recall a time or a hotel that had this level of service. I tend stay at very upscale properties - but the staff at this TownPlace had everyone beat! The front desk check in associates, to the door/entry way greeter, to the friendly faces at breakfast - this staff was truly exceptional in every sense of the word. They made our trip a terrific one... and thats because we had a rough start with an Airbnb gone bad -- so we had to think fast and got this hotel booked last minute during holiday season. What could have been a nightmarish NYC trip turned out to be an extremely fun and memorable one, in large part due to our accommodations at this property. We had elderly and kids traveling with us, and as chaotic as this traveling situation can be - the folks at this Townplace made everything so seamless and so smooth and added on an extra layer of service and friendliness that truly made our trip a great one. I cannot thank this staff enough. The property is a newer build - everything was up kept and all of the amenities were great. I would highly recommend this property - for a business traveler, a family/group trip, a couples escape or anything. Truly a great property with phenomenal staff!
The hotel is in a great location and doesnt charge a destination fee. The rooms are small (as expected in NYC) but functional. I wish there was more space in the bathroom near the sink. They have courtyard facing rooms which dont have much street noise. The street view have normal NYC noise. The deal breaker for me though was that the elevator (theres only 1) makes 3 banging sounds every time it stops and the side doors open (every floor except the lobby). At first the FD agents said it was normal, but later on they said I wasnt the only one that was complaining. If this really is normal as they said, then dont stay here if you value your sleep or a quiet room.It was very convenient for Broadway theatres and Times Square but Ill be looking for a different place to stay next time im in NYC.
Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted with a cool front entrance in this beach-like hot weather with a warm greeting from the front staff. The room itself was fantastic. The first thing I noticed was the kitchen-a 2 stove top electric burner. A microwave. Glasses. Mugs. Pot holders. Never had I seen anything like this, and Ive been to many hotels throughout the years. What was particularly note worthy was the neatly wrapped up towel on the floor beside the shower to ensure the guest does not unfold a towel themselves to put as a floor mat. Very chic. The fact that the phone to the front desk had certain features stuck out to me: the dial pad was on the receiver end of the phone itself, there were cords to charge practically any type of phone, and not to mention the phone holder built into the landline! There was an outlet right next to the bed alongside a usb port. It was a very function room that could be used for a very long time!
This was the first time my husband and I have been away overnight from our 6 month old baby. It was nice to be in a place with a mini kitchen so we could feel comfortable in our room and not have to leave. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel for couples and families because of their polite customer service and peaceful atmosphere.
I was on the 6th floor next to a utilities room used by the employees. All night someone used that room. Every time that door closed it slammed loudly. Last night this went on until 3:45am. Needless to say, I didnt sleep much. When I checked out, they were insisting that a handicap man with 2 leg braces take the stairs as the only elevator was out of order. When I asked for a chair for the room, I was given a metal folding chair. Not very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Room is small but clean. Not sure l would stay again.
I was in room 613 and every times the AC turned on or the neighbors doors open or close the motion sensor light will turn on. I was our anniversary and I surprise my wife to a trip to NY but it was the most miserable night since we woke up every 30 minute to 45 minutes from 11 pm to 7:30 am (we woke to turn the sensor light off like 12 times) worst anniversary experience at any Marriott I have stayed so far. I call front desk they said no other rooms are available so we had no option. I ask for my money back and they said you stayed by the night so you don’t get it back. Next day morning I cancelled by Saturday night stay and went to Intercontinental which is right next to TownePlace. Also if check near bed frame we saw food and garbage which was not vacuumed or clean properly. Not sure if they disinfected the room or not luckily we bought our own cleaning wipes so we clean the all the handles and stuff by ourself. Worst experience of my life ever. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
The stay was a very comfortable one even though the room size was fairly compact. The best asset are the location and the staff. The front desk staff was always very helpful and prompt with a smile, any thing requested by us was immediately brought up. Everything in the room was in good working order and even though small in size everything served a purpose, the kitchenette was very useful. Bathroom could use some door hooks or a rod. The breakfast was adequate and was replenished fairly consistently so that even if we were late in coming down most things were still available. Although there were hardly any reviews at the time of booking and even those were not the most positive, we trusted the brand and we were not let down.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. We visited NYC for one night for my husbands birthday. We went to see the Phantom of the Opera at The Majestic theater. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the theater, Times Square, as well as many restaurants. The hotel is very clean, bed was comfortable, and staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was small, which was fine for us, but I could see it being a problem for larger adults. Also, my husband was not happy with the coffee in our room at all ( I dont drink coffee).
Great location for the Theatre District, Times Square and only steps away form the subway! Hotel is new, clean and beds very comfortable. Was worried about a 4th floor room facing the street however we did not hear any outside noise! Wifi worked great. Plenty of options at breakfast. Hot choices were different each morning. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and greeted us each time we passed through the lobby.Only negative would be the elevator is slow but it does not hurt to take the stairs!
My Husband and i came here for New Year’s Eve and we’re supposed to leave the 1st of January but ended up getting an extra night because of how great our stay was. people at the front desk were very kind and helpful. our room was great, super clean , internet was awsome! just all around a great , welcoming environment!! we will definitely be back!!! :)
Weekend stay to see a few shows - cant beat the location - walking distance to Times Square, theaters, etc. Hotel is CLEAN, new, rooms are small (but I suppose the norm for that location), though very well thought out amenities so it all worked well. Fitness room AND free breakfast - cant beat it. I would have expected to pay more and get less in this area - very happy with our choice. Staff friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is fairly well located and is fairly well maintained as well. My recent stay was not without issues though. I checked in to my room to find stale/half eaten bread in my toaster, spoons were dirty and the bathroom had strands of hair in it.The service and overall staff attitude were also an issue, though a few at the front desk were polite and courteous, most would not even greet you when they see you, rather shocking.
The staff are nice enough but I stayed in room 105 which was literally on the same floor as the lobby and front desk. It was noisy and I could hear all the conversations and loud laughter. The first night I had to call and ask the front desk to keep it down, they said it was some “ rowdy” guests but I don’t think so since it happened almost every night and very early in the morning every single day. They would also have the music turned up so needless to say that didn’t help with getting sleep. It was seriously as if the lobby and front desk folks were inside my room!! In general the rooms don’t seem to be that good with keeping the noise out. I also heard every conversation that the front desk was having as well of that of folks walking past my room and the wheels of the suitcases as they moved pass my room at whatever hour. You would think that they - the front desk would be a little more considerate and aware of their voices given the set up of the hotel especially at night and the wee hours of the morning but noooo... couldn’t wait to get out of there!
The TownePlace Suites is a good value for a short stay in mid-town. It is conveniently located, and the rooms are clean. The rooms are VERY small - even though they call themselves suites, they are what I would refer to as a studio. The area with the bed is just large enough to walk around, with a TV mounted on the wall. The kitchenette is a nice touch -but given the size of the room - impractical, because you really wouldnt want to cook and eat in there (as there is no place to sit other than on your bed really). It is, however, handy to have a microwave (think popcorn or late night snack) and refrigerator (keeping your drinks cold). The staff are super friendly and nice - which is a great thing in a NYC property. Storage for your luggage in the room is minimal, and there is no real closet (simply a 12 cubby in which you can hang a few items if you want- no drawers), so pack appropriately. The fact that they offer breakfast, makes this a great value. HOWEVER, when my daughter and I were there, they were struggling slightly with the organization of breakfast. Food ran out quickly and was slow to refill, and the staff overseeing breakfast seemed unprepared for the number of people pulling on breakfast (which should have been predictable based on the number in house that night). We therefore waited 30 minutes for food to be prepared to refill the empty containers of food. I consider this to be a growing pain of a new hotel - which (when they get through that) has the ability to provide real value for money in a great location. I would NOT recommend this for anyone travelling as a family or for a longer duration trip, because of the issue storing luggage or putting away clothing. Equally, for a business person - this would fully depend on whether you wish to have a place to hang a suit - because the space to do so is limited. But - for the casual weekend traveller, or for a parent travelling with one child - or a couple - where location and access to transportation is key - this is a fabulous option.
Returned yesterday from our stay here. Absolutely 5**** !!!! We had the best stay, the rooms are perfect, beds are big . Kitchens are superbly equipped. Rooms are cleaned daily and in spotless condition. The location is fantastic. Breakfast was plentiful. I have to give a special mention to Daniel Arizmendi the manager, what a lovely lovely guy.... so helpful and nothing was too much for him. ALL staff there are so friendly, professional and happy to help. Would highly recommend staying here and should I return to NYC i would 100% stay here again.
The staff are really nice and professional. My room was more than expected, comes with a kitchen which I used to save money on delivery and dining out. The bathroom was nice and have a blow dryer. Also I like the small couch and love that they offer Netflix. I used all amentaties possible. It was very comfortable and Did I mention they have Netflix option which all hotels should have. Makes it easier to watch films. Also the area is convenient. Right in midtown.
Very tiny room. It was like being in a cruise cabin. Only the bathroom was larger. The elevator is painfully slow. The location is great. We were able to walk to Times Square and all the Broadway theaters. The subway is at the end of the block for easy access to the rest of the city. The breakfast buffet ran out of eggs. When I got there I saw a sign that said eggs would be ready in 10 minutes. Who knows how long that sign has been there. I then waited 20min and still no eggs. Had to eat oatmeal instead. With super limited choices it would be nice if at least all those were available. If I could get the same cheap nightly rate I got this time I would however consider staying here again
When we first arrived, we were given a room that was smaller than what we paid for and extremely hot. The airconditioning was not working. We spoke with the front desk to which they then placed us in the correct room, but within minutes we noticed that the tv was not working. The front desk told us an engineer would have it checked out later.Hours go by and finally I send a message that my wife and I are upset. We found this hotel through the Marriott website promoting bonus points with a stay due to it being a new hotel. We were excited to try a new hotel, and this would be our first Towneplace Suites hotel experience. However, in reality, we were greatly disappointed. The manager attempted to make things right by giving us a discount off the price of our night. That wasnt much since we had already locked in a great deal for the night. He reasoned with us that it being a new hotel, things are still being worked on to perfection. I explained to him that my intentions were not to make things difficult or to take advantage. From our perspective, we had to move from room to room, from issue to issue, only to end up with a nonworking tv. We had hoped new hotel meant everything was new, clean, working, and updated. To our surprise, a a new Marriott hotel meant things are not properly set up, lots of issues in all the rooms and throughout the hotel, and it probably opened up to guests sooner than it should. The engineer finally arrived confirming it to be a common issue throughout the hotel, with other rooms having similar issues. He apologized and stated that the issue could not be easily fixed today, but would be done on another day.I think Marriott could do better. My wife and I were greatly disappointed by this experience. Offering a discount was a kind gesture, but it probably should have been a free night. We jumped into the promotion of a new hotel, but our excitement and expectations were met with the issues of reality and the dark side of what a new hotel means.I would not recommend staying here until some more time passes for all the issues to be worked out in the hotel first.
First of all I would like to think Michael Holt for his excellent service. He made my stay wonderful, he was very attentive and caring. He was so concerned I parked my car in front of the hotel, and it was going to get towed, he called and also came up and knocked on the door to let me know it’s about to get towed. I got to my car in time to move it thanks to him!! I will definitely recommend this hotel it’s clean, it has a kitchenette, and if you get to meet Mr. Michael Holt, You will not regret it. He definitely deserves a promotion! thank you so much Again!!!
Terrible experience, the room was not sanitized, had stains on the countertop. There were no washcloths in the room. when we contacted the front desk and asked for washcloths and towels we were told that there were none in the hotel and that they would not have any until Wednesday, I checked in on a Sunday night!!. After having to leave to get cleaning supplies to sanitized the room. Our keys would not open the room door. We had to travel from the 7th floor to the lobby 4 times for new keys before they would send security up with the emergency key that would open the door. After realizing that the door was faulty and that we could not come and go as we needed/pleased in our hotel we requested another room and were refused. They also told us that there was no Engineer on site to help us so we were basically SOL and had to stay in the room until the manager arrived the next day. I asked for the managers card and called and emailed her and got no REPLY. I ended up checking out and canceling the remainder of my stay within hours of checking in. And after I was told that my charge was voided and that I would not be charged, I was still charged in full. not to mention the manger replied to my email Days later and has still refused to give a full refund.KEEP YOUR MONEY DO NOT STAY HERE.
This was our first stay at a TownePlace Suite by Marriott. We really wanted to like it, since the location was perfect for going to the theatre and the breakfast was outstanding. But issues with our room made i. t an ordeal at times when we were tired. The room was super small not at all what I pictured. Maybe for one person it would have been okay, but with two people it was cramped and in no way should be called a SUITE. The kitchenette was located in a long hallway. There was no closet, just a small rod to hang some clothes. The bathroom did not have a door that closed and locked. It was one of those sliding barn doors that you can see into as you walk by. No tub just a shower which was okay for us. Did not like the skimpy bathroom amenities which were hard to get out of the tiny little bottles. There was a small fridge, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. We really only needed the fridge. This hotel was not a good fit for us, I am afraid.
The hotel is in the perfect location. Marie on reception is the most friendly and helpful person. The rooms are spacious and the internet is really fast and reliable. The gym is perfect and open 24hours. Breakfast is available every day and there is a nice selection. I would stay here again in a second. We really had the perfect trip .
Excellent stay! Hotel is new, modern and clean. Room had hard surface flooring (no carpet!!) and a glass shower door (no musty shower curtain!) These are great features for guests with allergies. A/C unit worked well. Location is a short walk to Times Square and Bryant Park. Perfect for us.
Brand new hotel in a good location. Staff was outstanding. Friendly, professional and prompt. Hotel was clean and fresh. Rooms are small but that is to be expected for this type of hotel in the City. Breakfast was above average. All in all I was very impressed with my stay and I stay at dozens of hotels a year. Not a full service property mind you....but very good for a stay in the City where you want clean and comfortable accommodations and a caring staff.
There are few occasions where I write a review for exceptional customer service. This is definitely one of those times, and Im most grateful to have booked our stay at Towneplace Suites. The room was quaint, clean and cozy and the staff were so very friendly and accommodating. Particularly Marie whose warmth made us feel right at home and Elsa who made our departure as enjoyable as our arrival. Thank you for being a part of our wonderful Christmas in New York.
I stayed at the new TownePlace Suites NY Manhattan for 24 nights in Jan. The hotel staff were very polite, professional and pleasant. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. The location of the hotel is very convenient, walking distance to all Broadway theater and subway stations (all the subway lines). It is also surrounded by lots of good restaurants. The morning breakfast is a plus to my stay because I get to wake up to delicious warm breakfast every morning. The varieties of the breakfast was more than I expected. It has pretty much everything someone would eat for breakfast.
When we arrived to the room, the iron, the hair dryer and the coffee machine was missing. There is also no microwave.During my reservation, I asked for a 4PM late checkout as an Elite member. On the day of the checkout, I was disturbed on my room 2 times to checkout before the time I have requested by the reservation and on the front desk.
Clean, friendly staff, family friendly hotel, nice stainless steel appliances like a dishwasher ; typical like what youd have in an upscale apartment. Theres elevators and ramps. Front desk is open 24/7.They supply everything if you need anything they have copious amounts of services for your convenience.
Visited NYC for a 3 day weekend to see a play, dine and tour the city. The location of W 44th in Hells Kitchen is ideal. Not exactly in Times Square, but close enough to walk a few blocks. The restaurants on 9th are abundant and diverse.Everyone at the Towne Place Suites were amazing! The room was clean and updated. Only had 2 items that we needed taken care of and the front desk was all over it. Highly recommend this hotel.Only problem (if I can call it that), is there is only one elevator and very slow. Doesnt change my review at all.
Totally disappointing and overpriced ($ and points valued) Marriott property. Trust the 2.5* rating, it really is 2.5*. i did not believe that it could be so low. i can apppreciate that this is NYC and the proximity to many landmarks, etc, but don’t price the hotel as one with more amenities. There are other chain hotels within 2 blocks that were cheaper and larger. Photos are very deceiving. The front desk couldn’t even provide me with a simple map or graphic of the local area, There was absolutely no recognition to Marriott status - there is nothing that they can offer, A bottle of water would have gone a long way! Uncomfortable double bed that made you feel that you could roll off it at any time. Breakfast was on par to that which you would get in a small town motel, and even then, they have provided better eats! I have stayed at many Marriott chain hotels around the world, and this was the most disappointing and embarrassing Marriott hotel that i have ever stayed in. I booked early, and should have trusted my instincts to have booked elsewhere on this short 3-night family stay.. Definitely would not recommend for business stay.
We stayed here for 6 days for our anniversary. Its a great little hotel with a nice suite for a room. Theyre small rooms...but youre in New York...all rooms are small and you pay way too much if you want a big room. The suite was perfect for my wife and I. Great location for Broadway shows and shopping. Nice big subway station on the same block, so it was no problem getting to Lower or Upper Manhattan within 10-15min. Very clean rooms! Very friendly staff.
Been to many Time Square hotels. I try to stay near the theater, hence chose this one. This one is clean and conveniently located, but for the price, wont return. Id rather pay a little more and stay elsewhere. Staff was not well trained, unfriendly, and didnt know location of nearby theaters and could not recommend easy walking distance restaurants. Boarding pass computer wasnt working. Room not ready and they wouldnt inform us when it was, we just had to keep checking back. Bathroom to use while waiting was far away (unisex bathroom, single toilet). Walls paper thin, could hear next rooms conversation. And so on.
The reason my wife and I rated negative on the survey and are going to rate negative on Yelp as well and on the Marriot BONVOY Platform (of which I am a member) was the terrible service we received at your New York location.Day 1 Our room was not ready and was booked a week in advance.Day 1 (In the afternoon) upon arrival at the room, I noticed that the bed was not King side as I paid in my reservation, I called the host and they told me that it was a king studio room and that the bed was smaller. Which is totally false since you have 2 rates, one for queen and one for king (attached Photo 1).Day 1 (At night) When my wife and I go to bathe, it turns out that we only have 1 towel in the room. If we are two people and we made a reservation for two, why do they give us only one towel? We called the host again and they brought us 1 more towel, after 5 minutes they charged my credit card $ 10 for the towel.Day 2 (In the morning) When we go to the main room to have breakfast, the person at the reception tells us that they do not have breakfast (breakfast according to the offer they made me when making my reservation was included) One of the reasons why Ichose this hotel was because they offered me breakfast.Day 2 (When we got to the room again we had only one towel and also no one came to accommodate our room. We called the reception again and they told us that the room service had to be done every three days (they never informed me of this when I made my reservation) if I wanted to get to my hotel after a long day to accommodate my room, I better stay in an AIRBNB. The reason why people stay in a hotel is because they want to be provided a service which pay, not for oneself to serve.Day 3 (at night) Upon arriving at the hotel after walking all day through New York they told us that they did not have an elevator that they were repairing. The man at the reception was watching the World Series game and the truth was, he didnt even stop looking at the phone, he just told us that we had to go up five floors up the stairs. My wife had swollen feet from walking but they did not offer us another alternative, nor did they inform us that they had to make repairs to the elevator for us to take action on it and arrive before or after the repair time.Day 1,2,3,4 Every day we had to clean and dry the bathroom floor, the reason was that a rubber was missing from the glass that separates the shower from the bathroom and this was flooded. We told him at the reception that this was going on from day one and they never fixed it.Today November 1, 2020 and from the first day I stay, I have $ 210 blocked on my credit card and I do not know for what reason and I do not know when they will unlock it. They gave me my invoice the day I checked out and there was no extra charge but a week later I still have the money blocked. (photo 3)
We really enjoyed our stay at the TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan/Times Square. Coming from Australia, the Suites are perfectly located for the visitor wanting to see NYC, including easy access to the Subway system. The rooms are excellent with beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds. In particular, the staff were fantastic and looked after us extremely well. We would definitely stay there again.
I stay in many hotels around the world as I travel on business over 60 % of the year, but this one by far has the most welcoming and friendly staff I have ever encountered. They are happy and welcoming and very helpful. They all make me feel like I am coming home every time I come back.Love you guys and thank you for being my family away from home :)
My only hesitation in providing a great review is so that there is availability the next time I want to stay here! This is New York’s best little secret. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms are small, but very well-designed. If you’re here for business my room did not have a desk per se but they did have a small table for my laptop and I used the bed as a chair. The location was fantastic in that it was close enough to Time Square for walking convenience (1.5 blocks) and far enough to have a quiet night sleep. This is going to be the place I stay when I come to New York again.
All you need to know about this hotel, good location, very, very small rooms and only ONE and I repeat one elevator. It was ridiculously slow and we had to wait a long, long time going up from the lobby or down from our room. No service elevator so there were service attendants and residents sharing the same, small elevator. Breakfast seemed like they were always out of food and coffee. They need to do a much better job stocking. I will not be back.
I spent a lot of nights here in the past, because I like this hotel, and the front desk was very pleasant to talk to, but unfortunately that has changed for the worse. They treat you like a second class citizen here. I simply needed a key because it stopped working after mistakenly placing it near my nfc on cellphone. They kept me waiting while about 6-7 people in and out and then another group of 6 going up elevator. Even with platinum level status I was forced to wait 15 minutes in this pandemic in a now closed tiny lobby, where i just needed the key which wasnt my fault in the first place. These things just keep happening, which wanna make me rethink where i will spend my money from now on. Once i booked i am no good for them anymore?!
No room was available because I checked in around 11:00 am, very understandable during Memorial Weekend. So I asked for a room thats quiet and well maintained because I figured there should be more rooms available in the afternoon and with my Gold status I should be able to get a decent room. The reason I requested that because I have an early flight the next day. They promised me verbally to call me once my room is available. However, I never received any call or text from them thereafter. I returned back to the hotel around 8pm, pretty upset upon check-in but I didnt mention about it since the girl who had given me the promise wasnt working. After a long day and having an early departure the very next day, I need a peaceful and clean room to rest. Unexpectedly, I was given a room right next to a busy street, plus it is a wheelchair accessible room. I didnt request that and I personally dont prefer wheelchair accessible room because water will splash all over the bathroom floor when showering. Speaking of the bathroom, Lots of grouts are moldy and sink faucet is very loose. I had to turn the knob very carefully each time using it, afraid Id break it or itd fall apart. Needless to say, I did not have a good night sleep, kept waking up in the middle of the night due to noise. Overall I didnt have a pleasant stay at TownePlace Suites Manhattan/Times Square. As a matter of fact, Im very disappointed with this property in every aspect.
Close to all the best attractions NYC has to offer, these small suites are very well equipped (so you dont have to spend a fortune in restaurants every day), spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff are FABULOUS - so charming and helpful - and it really feels like a home from home. The only thing I would change are the furnishings. Id get rid of the big armchair and small round table (that has no seating anyway) and put in a larger desk/table with seating to eat and a place to work - it would be much better use of space! Id also add wine glasses to the eating/drinking crockery and utensils. But I loved it and will 100% return. Great value for money. A real jewel in Marriotts crown.
Such a nice staff, breakfast, bed, TV, shower and very clean. Recommended for 1 person in a room.. I just do not understand how someone can stay here for an extended stay with no chair to sit in if you need to cook and eat a meal and not enough space to put your clothes and personal items.
Hotel management is excellent and professional Though the rooms are kind of small, its the city and youll find that anywhere else. The rooms are clean and updated, and the hotel itself is nice and new. There is coffee/tea in the lobby, and free breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel as a choice to stay in.
This hotel was just what we wanted. It was about 1 block from Time Square, very close to restaurants, and many activities we wanted to be involved in. Also, about a block and a half to the Subway station. It was pretty new and clean. There is a small kitchen in the room, and I did use the microwave. The only drawback was that there was no safe in the room. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I returned for an 8 night stay this week. The best things about this hotel are the location and the staff working there that went over and above to assist!!The room was small and comfortable, but it was expected as you are staying in nyc where space comes at a premium. The breakfast was very good however I would have liked some more variability. Having a breakfast included in your stay at nyc is a definite plus. The only downside that I can find is that the elevator is very slow sometimes.
Best location, new hotel, very nice room and bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, breakfast included (simple but enough for good start of the day), very comfortable bed. Complimentary coffee, tea, water whole day- really greatI would come again. Terrace not opened yet (May 2019), not good elevator-took long time
I really liked my room and the amenities that came with it. I wish all the doors would close more quietly because as guests frequently went in and out of their doors at night, it was difficult to sleep. Also, Im pretty sure there were people smoking weed on my floor.
Small nice new city hotel. Pleasant interior and room furniture. Efficient layout of small rooms. Everything is thought through and convenient. Reminds me of similar hotels in Europe rather than on standard chain hotels in the USA. Probably would not recommend to families due to tiny size.
Looking for a nice clean gas station in dirty, grimy city? Look no further.New hotel, clean modern rooms, great amenities all around. Rooms are larger and better than most rooms in NYC.Experience was fantastic and at a great price! Professional and friendly staff. We live 35 miles away from NYC and now we will stay here every time we come into the city for the theatre.
We were attending BroadwayCon over at the NY Hilton, but wanted to stay at a Marriott branded hotel. We had the AC&E subway right outside the door, so it was convenient going off to the event. Times Square, and many of the theaters are located in this area, as well as Juniors - best cheesecake! Will stay here again next year for the event, if available. We had a queen room with a sofa bed, but the sofa bed is right up against the wall the bathroom is on, and when its open at night, it gives you a small space to get in to the bathroom. It worked, but it was very odd. (Given its NYC, space is typical of what you would probably get in most rooms in hotels!)
The rooms are a bit small but its perfect for a couple, quick girls trip, a trip to the city with the kids....it has a nice back patio situation that can go from privet to a small gathering just dont play loud music they dont like that lol....the room i was in had some appliances: rice cooker, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and dishes washer amongst other things. Definitely nice for a quick get away
We had an extended stay dec 2019 and was made to feel right at home. As a type 1 diabetic the kitchen staff were extra helpful and put up with my early morning conversations . The amazing staff in the front desk were very friendly and professional , excellent cleaning services. We will be back in few years time as a bit of a trip from Australia . Stay safe all of you in this worrying health crisisKind regardsChris Chesmar
The staff are super nice . the hotel feels new and clean. The layout is very odd with only one elevator so it takes awhile to get in and out. THe rooms are so small and the walls so thin, I did not find it comfortable at all. I could hear doors opening and closing and people talking in the hall. The hotel is not one I would choose to stay in ever again .
Room was nice, with a small kitchenette, and staff there is great. Why a one star then? They put me on the first floor near the stairs and all night, the slamming of the stair door kept me from sleeping. You could hear all hallway noise and doors through the closed door, and since its near Times Square, people were traipsing in and out all night. All. Night. This may be a lovely hotel if youre on a higher floor or away from the stairwell door, but for me, I started to understand why sleep deprivation is a torture technique.
Awesome hotel within walking distance to Times Square and Central Park. A few feet away from the 42nd St Subway station. On recommendation from hotel staff prior to arrival we took the Q70 bus from LaGuardia to the stop at 75th/Roosevelt to catch the subway to 42nd St/Port Authority stop, it only cost $5.50 per person! Great free breakfast to start your day in NYC. Staff was very helpful, free WiFi, room was clean with refrigerator and microwave, comfortable bed and nice walk-in shower. The only downside to the hotel is their is no good view from the room but wasn’t in the room much anyways. Go outside to enjoy the view!
A basic Marriott hotel that is only about 1 block from Times Square. Clutch if you are looking to stay near the action, but don’t want to be sleeping in the middle of the craziness. This hotel provides all the basics that you will need. The property is newer so everything reflects this newness. The breakfast area is small, so arrive early or make other plans. The view from the rooms will be minimal, so don’t stay here if you want to gaze out over the city while falling asleep. Overall, it is a good hotel.
I needed an inexpensive place to stay in NYC for a quick one night stay but with all the basic comforts. TownePlace in midtown Manhattan filled the bill admirably. Facilities and service were all up to top standards. This was my first time at a TownePlace hotel and whole experience exceeded my expectations.
Boutique hotel - dont expect closet or drawer space or medicine cabinet for toiletries. There is a kitchen but no chairs and just a side table. There is only one swivel lamp over one side of bed. No working space for a laptop. People were using tables in the lobby for their work station.Pros - Great location, good breakfast, comfortable bed, terrific staff, good internet, quiet.
Place is okay. Lots of noise from the hallway and lobby was really annoying. I loved that they had multiple USB charging ports and cables in the room, it was extraordinary convenient, also liked that the room had a walk in shower in lieu of the combination shower/tub.
I contacted the TownePlace Suites via the Bonvoy App to ask a few questions because our arrival. Marie was so patient and helpful with all of my questions (I had several). When Delta canceled my flight the night before we were suppose to arrive, I sent Marie another message and told her about the situation. She helped me so much by telling me not to worry that they would take care of me. They wouldnt charge me for the room if I wasnt able to arrive but they would have one for me if I was able to arrive in time. There was so much in the air and Marie just helped me so much with my stress level because it was one less thing I had to worry about.Upon my arrival to the hotel, Michael provided me all the necessary information (even though it was 1:30 a.m. and I just wanted to go to sleep). He was friendly and knew about my conversation with Marie. He was kept up to speed about my situation and welcome my daughter and I to the hotel. The next morning we were able to meet Marie in person and she was so friendly and down to earth. She checked my reservation to make sure everything was correct. I had some problems with my initial room and she quickly offered to have me change rooms. She gave me plenty of time to switch and made sure my stay was comfortable and I was happy with everything. My daughter and I then enjoyed breakfast and met Aminata who was also amazing. She was so friendly, started brief conversations with us, assisted us when we needed something, etc. She was so great and was such a friendly spirit to start our mornings off with.We stayed a week and I would definitely consider returning to this hotel just to see these friendly faces again. Also, the hotel is so close to Time Square - its within walking distance. The subway entrance is only 400 ft away and extremely convenient. There are grocery stores (Whole Foods, Food Emporium), great restaurants, and dessert places nearby. If youre going to see Frozen, the theater is on the same street! Aladdin in just a couple streets over. Were in the Theater District so it couldnt get any better and more convenient. One thing - the rooms are TINY! I went only with my daughter and we barely had enough space. There isnt much closet space and no where to store your luggage. The fridge is a mini fridge but it was sufficient. Counter space is limited. Ask for a room that isnt a corner room. I think there may be larger rooms on the ground level (C1 or C2).Thank you, TownePlace Suites
Oh my word!!! This is such a great place! The staff was soooo kind! Each time we came back to our hotel they would talk to us. The breakfast was so good. Lots of different options to choose from and the breakfast area was nice and clean. We stay in a lot of hotels and this place was so cute and so clean!!! Now our room was tiny so I cant imagine this room w kids in it but I am sure they have bigger rooms for more than 2. Oh.. they have the cutest dishwasher!!! And a beautiful roof top sitting area where we could have grilled out! They supply everything u need but the food. But they do give u smores if u want!!! We sooo will come here again. Oh and car parking right across the street. Hidden gem in between all the big fancy hotels!
Great hotel. But needs some work. Especially in the bathroom. No hooks on the back of the bathroom door. And no towel racks, rails or anything to hang a wet towel on. It is like they want you to toss them on the floor. Front desk staff was very friendly and competent. Service at the morning breakfast was not consistent.
This is my 3rd time staying at this place and I usually stayed more than 20 days. This hotel is in great location, near subway, walking distance to Times Square and lots of restaurants around the area. The staff always strive their best to make my stay pleasant and enjoyable. Their service is excellent especially the front desk staff.
We stayed here because of location and the kitchenettes in the rooms. The rooms were clean and provided that little extra space you are always looking for in NYC. The staff was VERY friendly, housekeeping was phenomenal! Free breakfast always a plus and it was perfect for us.
Absolutely! I really enjoyed my stay at TownePlace Suites. My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. Our stay was nice. Close to everything so we walked everywhere. Access to the subway was right on 44th street and around the corner was tons of eateries and Broadway shows. A block away from Times Sq. Location, Location, Location! The hospitality Reps. Maria and Ariel were great.
Cozy boutique hotel, convenient to everything you want in NYC.Very clean, really nice having everything I needed in the kitchen. The staff was awesome, both friendly & very helpful.Front desk staff gets 10 stars ⭐️ I would like to mention Evan & Will who went above & beyond to make my stay perfect.
Very much a below average hotel. the sheets were dirty upon arrival. there was dirt on the walls and the small couch, in the hotel room. the toilet was also clogged when we walked into the hotel room. there was only one towel and washcloth and when we requested more towels and washcloths it took 7 hours. will not be returning to this hotel
We were extremely pleased with the service at the Marriott hotel. From the time we checked in until we left we found all staff to be very personable and knowledgeable. This location was perfect for our purpose of seeing Broadway shows. Dave and Marie went out of their way to help us with the many questions we had. Thank you to the entire staff!
Great staff. Nice compact lobby area with a good selection for their free breakfast. No bar or restaurant but thats typical of the Town place Suites. There are plenty of food and drink options within a short walk. Rooms are NY small. Walked in from the subway. Only about 1/2 block from the subway station. Not sure how parking would work out there since I didnt used it.
PROS:-Located near Times Square.-Room did not face the street, room was in the back corner facing residential so it was very quiet.CONS:-Extremely slow elevator and due to Covid you might have to wait multiple times to get in-Given 1 bath towel for 2 guests because that was standard-Bathroom door is a sliding door broken off the track with a huge gap so forget privacy-Room has sensor lights that turn on and off as they please - at 4AM it would turn on and wake you just for fun-Shower curtain did not go to length of shower so bathroom floor was soaked-Room overall was not very clean-Extremely slow service to get additional towels (really stingy we got 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel) and pillows - requested it at check-in at 11am and did not receive until 8pm-Did not receive any upgrades for being Marriott Platinum
This hotel has a great location...right at Times Square...but lets get real...the rooms are not a suite. They are the size of a small walk in closet and are not suitable for any sort of business travel. Use only if traveling alone as two people can not possibly fit. Think of a small cabin on a ship. Breakfast is super basic and in Times Square there are 1000 options. If this branch is representative of the chain (new to Marriott), avoide at all costs.
Hotel is in a great area and very clean. The breakfast was lacking. No individual butter packets. You need to dip into a public tub of butter filled with crumbs. The bagel cutter was sticky and dirty and thought it would be clean for the next day but it was not. Disappointed.
Excellent location! Walk to the theatres and Times Square in minutes, with a major subway station just steps away to explore the city. Motivated, friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and memorable. Extremely clean and well maintained with a hot, tasty buffet breakfast to start the day!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this clean and quiet hotel close to Times square. The staff are so nice and meeting other guests at breakfast adds to the great experience. Its right by a train station too Port Authority. I will definitely stay here on my next trip and I would recommend this hotel to other people going to NYC.
A good choice overall--rooms are comfortable and well appointed and clean; front desk staff and other workers are friendly and helpful; location is within easy walking distance of Broadway theaters, many restaurants and coffee shops.Be aware that there may be long waits for the elevator, as there is only one to service all guests and the work staff.
The rooms are as promoted online, super clean and the staff is very accommodating and polite..location of hotel was perfect for shopping and dining out conveniences, i initially came to celebrate a friends birthday an had an amazing time doing everything else within walking distance too... definitely coming back to this hotel when i fly up from miami again..
This hotel was perfect for my needs. I traveled to NYC for work and stayed here and I really enjoyed my stay. The location is awesome if you are looking to stay in midtown/times square area. The rooms were very clean and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when I come to NYC. I highly recommend!
We had a great time in NYC. The hotel made it that much better. It is in the heart of where we wanted to be. The rooms and site were wonderful. The staff made us feel at home and were the nicest I have experienced. They were so accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of.
Stayed here for a long Thanksgiving weekend and Marie Lowe and Cris De Jesus were awesome in answering all my questions and giving me useful suggestions and making sure I saved money getting around the city. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was great. I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again.
It was my first time staying with this brand and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Two small issues surfaced -- a broken black-out blind and a shower door that wouldnt stay closed -- and both were addressed quickly and satisfactorily. I will look for the TownePlace brand when I book my next hotel stay.

2022-05-30Location is great. Rooms were clean but small. Square footage was correct, but room layout not as pictured on website.Only one elevator, so be prepared to wait every time you use it. I was hoping for breakfast I saw in the pictures, but now you get cheap pre packaged breakfast sandwiches instead of real food, although it is still better than your average hotel.Air conditioner broke on my last night there. I notified the front desk but nothing was done until after I left and no compensation.

2022-03-09My family and I stayed here last week and we are very happy with our choice. The rooms were clean, we had our own little kitchen (which we used everyday for dinner), the location was excellent and we loved having a complementary breakfast - with good products and very convenient for starting our day early and making the most of our time. The staff was really nice. Id like to highlight the excellent service of Jose, he was around in the morning during our breakfast. He was always so friendly, helpful and attentive with everything. Always with a smile on his face. He spoke Spanish and my parents loved talking with him. He adviced us on where to go and gave us recommendations - it was our first time in the city, so this was especially appreciated. We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and family. Some cons:The room wasnt too big, not much storage space. We used the sofa bed - the mattress was thin and uncomfortable, you could feel the bed springsTheres only one elevator, it can take long to come, especially in the mornings. The breakfast was very good for the price, many options, good quality, most of it was processed and sweet - but dont expect toast or warm dishes except porridge.

2022-01-02Overall, a decent experience at this hotel. The rooms are really tiny, but not surprising for a New York hotel. The location is very nice, close to Time Square and the Theater district, but the area can start looking shady at night. Biggest complaint was the breakfast. Many of the items served were expired. Milk was expired by a few days and the Nutella was over a year past expiration. Needless to say, we skipped breakfast here.

2021-12-05Based on 1 visit: BRING EARPLUGS. It is impossible to get a room away from the elevator or stairs. The secondary Tower has quieter rooms in the back of the hotel, at least if the hotel is not full, and it is still the city. Relatively reasonably priced for a great location near Times Square. Fine breakfast, even in the pandemic. The rooms are very small, and there is only a small movable table and no desk for working at. Nicely furnished though, and all I needed for my stay.

2022-04-13Overall a very positive experience. The location is ideal. Its within walking distance to Grand Central, Penn Station, the bus terminal and Times Square/Broadway. Its also near endless options for eating on 8th and 9th Avenues, and restaurant row on 46th street. If you cant find great food within a two block radius then there is something wrong with you!Keep in mind that this area remains active at night and there is a lot of light pollution. Fortunately the rooms have black out shades. As for the room itself I booked a king. It included a well equipped kitchenette. The updated room will accommodate two people comfortably. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. And although there is just one elevator, this is not a high rise property, so you can easily use the stairs that were also clean. Some nice touches included charging ports on both sides of the bed - a remote control that did not require 12 pounds of pressure to change the channel - microwave popcorn - coffee/tea. Also there were plenty of white, fluffy towels. And if youre tall, youll love the shower because youll be able to wash without hunching (for those interested....Im not tall but come from a family of tall men who often complain of this!). Water pressure was good and the hot water plentiful.Breakfast was provided free of charge and it was decent. Most importantly there was plenty of fresh, good tasting coffee. The lobby area is small so Id recommend grabbing and bringing it back to the room.I would definitely stay here again.

2022-04-04Caution when booing this hotel!!!My credit card was charged April 2nd for $428.28. We stayed at this hotel March 4th-6th paid for the stay in full December! When I called I could not get an explanation as to why my card was charged a month later I was not in NY and didn’t book another stay, they said that can happen if some one orders room service we didn’t, have a pet, we didn’t or smoked in the room we don’t smoke! They could see all of this from the notes I am sure that I didn’t have these things. They said they couldn’t explain it why are card was being charged. Reversed it and said sorry gave us a $40 gift card. That didn’t Help the time I have to wait for the process of their Reversal. Was very unsettling they couldn’t explain why this happened. I will never use this hotel again!!

2022-06-01Spent three nights here in May 2022.Pros:Great location, honestly I couldnt have asked for a better location.Friendly staff. From the check in staff to the maintenance staff, everyone was friendly and kind.Room was clean.Free coffee in the morning and flavoured water during the day. They allowed us to check in early.Cons:Room was tiny. I had spent 9 days on a cruiseship right before checking in and the room at the hotel is about the same size. However, Ive heard this is common with all hotels in manhattan so it is what it is.Elevator broke. One of the days the elevator was broke for almost 24 hours. This meant I had to hike up 5 flights of stairs to get to my room. It was not fun after walking around thebcity for so long. I wasnt offered any sort of compensation for this major inconvenience

2021-10-12The staff of this hotel is excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The room though was tiny. There was barely room to move around. There was no place to put our luggage, no luggage stand. There wasnt even a chair to sit in. Even if we had a stand for our luggage, it would have been impossible to leave up due to the size of the room. If you are looking for a location that is near to the theater districe and times square and dont mind a tiny room, then this place is good. I will look for someplace with bigger rooms.

2021-08-01I enjoyed my stay there as I needed some time to recover from the hustle and bustle. It is pricy but has great amenities. Some rooms have a balcony, which was a great perk this time. Things that did not work properly (tv, fridge, wiggly faucet) were fixed reasonably quick. Breakfast in a bag still sucks, but that is everywhere since COVID-19. I think the staff is exceptional, friendly and accommodating.
