Trader Joes in other cities:
Grateful for this store and location.V Prices are reasonable a number of products are cheaper than anywhere else. Notably Real Maple Syrup, Large Eggs and pre sliced Cheeses.Always helpful and courteous staff and customer service. My only negative comment would be that they can not always keep the stock up of certain products with the customers demands but they really try to.Overall give it a 4 and1/2 Stars rating.
The staff at the Ave A TJs is phenomenal. Always helpful, always cheerful. Through no fault of their own, the inventory tends to wain. My fav yogurt, cereal bars, rice, etc. arent continuously in stock. Its frustrating. And whered the RICE PUDDING go?!? Why does TJ do that⁉️ You ❤️ their breaded chicken filets? Not anymore, cause they flew the coop last year ☹️🐥 Disappointing. Far as I know, thats their only major downfall.
Very popular among young people who pay attention to quality of food and health. I’m a frequent visitor and can always find something new on shelf. They recently started selling flowers and they are so pretty! (and great prices!)There are also many frozen meals from all over the world (Chinese dumplings, Korean pancakes, Indian naans, Japanese Teriyaki, etc.) I tried frozen Indian lamb Vindaloo with rice and beef masala (I kinda forgot the name), they were delicious and only cost like $4, although the portion was pretty small.Another great thing I love about this Trader Joe’s is that they sell goat milk! I love goat milk and I always bought it from Whole Foods. I recently found that goat milk is sold here as well, which is very convenient for me so that I don’t have to go all the way to Whole Foods all the time that is farther away from my place. They also sell grass-fed milk here. The vegetable and meat are a little expensive though, and there are not that many choices and variations. So it’s not a place that I choose to buy weekly grocery, but a place for adding ingredients and things in my home, such as milk, eggs, olive oils, bread, avacados, bell peppers, etc.Being able to find and buy healthy food here with affordable prices makes me happy!
TJ’s across street from Stuyvesant town complex was a welcome addition to Stuyvesant town residents & lower east side!management for this store is exceptional most notable staff, John, Will, Lorraine and Chris, represent TJ’s policy customer service par excellence! Store is clean along with the many well stocked shelves! Fresh fruit & veggies, especially bananas remain a hit or miss experience, cheese selection is good! On personal note I wish they could stock more choices for Feta & Goat cheese! Highly recommend this store for your next shopping experience!!!
Long line for check out even mid-day, but moves quickly. Shop the middle 1st, the rest you can do while on the lineBe wary of the packaged fruit, not sure who wants or desires packaged fruit, but most of it isnt dated and it spoils or rots & you end up throwing it out. Produce department & concept needs an overhaul
Just a really great place to shop for groceries in the East Village.I am a vegan and in my experience, not all Groceries and Supermarkets stock or even make an effort to carry the food items vegans actually eat. But, Traders Joe gets it... they also carry a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Also, I must compliment their staff: they are vibrant, friendly and professional and always available to help.Shopping is always a pleasurable experience at Traders Joe and prices are reasonable.
Awesome I love it I was so happy when they opened because this location is only one block from home Unfortunately its very small but they seem to have everything that the Union Square Location offers I havent noticed anything missing I wish they could have waited and negotiated for the Associated location when they closed Now that would have been great!!TJs is the one and great 👍🏼 as always I love shopping there I am still overjoyed that it is two blocks from my apartment building 🏢 It cant get any more convenient than this 🤩 And even though we are heading into a recession the prices are still reasonable I heard my family down South is paying over $3.50 per dozen LG eggs I pay $2.29 for the Jumbo 🤩😻
Leafy vegetable is slightly pricy. Lots of organic produces and products. The store is a lot more spacious than the one on the 3rd ave. It is a pleasure to shop at this store. However, being located in the basement level, the air quality is a little worrisome with high volume of the shoppers. It is 2021, Trader Joe’s still doesn’t offer delivery service and an e-commerce website. At the minimal, it should at least set up a delivery system for senior shoppers and temporarily/permanently disable shoppers in the neighborhood.
Love this Trader Joes store in particular. Extremely spacious in comparison with other Trader Joes stores in the city and shelves are always well-stocked. Everyone here is always very nice. I always look forward to seeing Ms. Selina during my visit. I met her at Trader Joes on Grand St and her kindness and friendliness make my shopping experience at Trader Joes pleasing and memorable. I am very glad to see her at this store!
This was my first time at this Trader Joes. Truly amazed how spacious and clean this market is. Everything so fresh and nice. The prices here are remarkably affordable. I was able to get everything I needed and get out within twenty minutes. The lines for the cashier were Long but fast. This place is a gem. The best market on 14 St. My new go to market for everything.
The store is really nice! Its well organized and youll find everything you need very easily. The bathrooms are spot clean and depending on the time there arent barely any lines. Great addition to the neighborhood for sure! The reason I gave 3 stars is because Ive had some not pleasant experiences w/ employees, at this store. While some are extremely nice others have a bad attitude and carry themselves very unprofessionally. From staring at me with angry faces to pretending I am not near by asking for some assistance when kindly called. Ive carried 6 bags in turns to my car parked in front of the store (more than once) while some employees were goofing around at the door listening to hip hop music on their phones.
Lines to get into the store have been short or non existent. Checkout wait lines move quickly: I have yet to wait more than 5 minutes, even with 20 customers ahead of me. This store is well stocked. No complaints at all. Very convenient to the new Avenue A L Train station too!
This Trader Joe’s location is larger than the one by union square. Like the union square location, there’s usually a line to get into the store. Luckily, this one is usually much shorter than the other store’s. The staff here is very friendly and they know their way around the different foods they sell. During these covid times, I’m able to see staff disinfecting cart handles, which brings me some peace of mind. The only gripe I have about this location is that with all the busyness, shelves are sometimes under stocked as people take the items before staff have time to reshelve the items.
This Trader Joe was not what I expected. The bathroom was filthy overflowing garbage with tissue and toilet seat covers. During this time if bathroom is made accessible should be more cleaning. Employee picked up a baguette off the floor and placed backed in bread basket.Person at register was pleasant and upbeat. Not sure if I will return. Will continue shopping at East 14th - love all aspects of that location!!!!
Excellent TJs location. Great prices and products (as always)! Check out the Boatswain beer for $4.95 a six pack--cans, but really good beer. Also the Simpler Times lager for $8.95 for 12 cans! Nice and light for the summer. The TJs fettuccine boxed pasta made in Italy is awesome for a little over $1. And the creamy TJs peanut butter for $2!Super nice people at the registers!
Love this Trader Joes. Consistently stocked with great produce and large selection of grocery items. One of the few stores where you dont feel like youre wasting an employees time by asking where an item is. I appreciate all of their hard work to operate during the pandemic. They go above and beyond for their customers.
I like this TJ a lot. The location is good. The most important is it has much better traffic control both at entrance and checkout. If there is a line waiting outside, the waiting time is not long. Even if there is a long long line waiting for checkout, the line moves quick.
I wanna give my highest praises to the employees and the manager of the store. When I had purchased too many groceries for me to carry, in preparation for our hunkering down, I mentioned to the manager that I might need to leave a couple of bags behind and come back and get them. She had a better solution. She opened a register to check me out and then sent the lovely young man home with me to carry my bags. Practically in tears from her generosity and caring
This location has been highly anticipated and it’s delivered on the expectations. You pretty much know what you’ll be walking into with every TJ’s, but if you’re a big fan like me and live near this location, you’re probably already stoked to be so much closer to all the quality, great-value products available. As for this store specifically, it’s super clean, larger than the Union Square spot, well laid out, staff’s been crushing, and every time I’ve visited the line has been speedy and the most tolerable out of any NYC location I’ve been to. In short, I’m very happy about all of it.
I love Trader Joes! Its all about customer experience! The new location in East Village has a great Captain and his hard working team of Mates and Crew Members that work non stop to make sure customers have a WOW shopping experience and work even harder every hour the store is open to maintain a sanitized and well stocked shopping and work environment.
As a senior citizen using a walker and living alone it is very difficult to get groceries. I have just had a terrible experience with two women working at the door. They changed shifts at 5 PM and the one leaving mocked me to the woman coming on shift. Then the woman mocked me to the first woman waiting in line to get in saying I have trouble walking also I have a cyst on my foot. Granted the store was at capacity but when i asked how long the wait would be the woman yelled half an hour . She told me that so I would give up waiting and go away.
Cleaner and spacious than the one closer to Union Square. Lines may look long but it moves quickly as they have a dozen plus registers. Wheelchair accessible elevators, escalators and stairs are featured here. Product samplings are available. This location is close to the 1st Avenue L train stop, very convenient.
The line is way too long. When you pick up your groceries, you have to wait for such a long time in line before you can get to a cashier.Theres not enough baskets to put your groceries in. I had to carry my groceries in my hands. The escalator to go downstairs is not working.Very devastating.I really would like it if they could put better measures in place.Very concerned customer.
What is there really to say about a Trader Joes? This one is smallish but fairly comfortable, though there is a bit of a bottleneck near the exit that can be frustrating given current events. Great selection of packaged foods, slightly limited selection of some ingredients.
A Trader Joes (referred to as TJ hereafter) visit is always fantastic and todays (TJ at E14 street, NYC) visit was no exception. There was an employee to greet you at the entrance/exit and an employee sanitizing each cart before issuing to shoppers. Before today, I hadnt been to a TJ since maybe last year (due to the closest location being kinda away from where I live) but its always super clean, super organized, super full of good stuff, staff is always super willing to help, and check-out is super quick and efficient. I guess one can say TJ is a SUPER store! Never a bad experience for me.
Was very happy when they opened up this new Trader Joes. I have always been a fan of Trader Joes but every location is different. This one is much nicer and larger than the union square location, the lines are not nearly as long and it really is an in and out situation. Its underground too :)
This is the best trader joes in the city Im an avidTrader joes shopper been to everyone an this one is the damn best 👈👈🤗💯😊😊no crowds well organized huge clean well stocked... everything fresh the employees are awesome 🥰 so nice welcoming an thoughtful helpful.. cashiers are so welcoming I loveeeeeeeee this location ❤️keep it up trader joes ...I appreciate no long lines just in an out making for a great experience thank u
The East Village’s dreams have come true...the new Trader Joe’s has opened.for Manhattan, this is a medium-ish location. it’s a standard open layout like all TJ’s. this location is below street level via stairs, escalators, or elevator. this TJ’s should reduce the insanity at the other 14th St location located further west. the interior is brightly lit, clean and of course looks new.the layout is similar to most TJ’s. fresh produce is located near the escalators. there’s a long refrigerated unit which stretches from cheese to veggies to meats. there are aisles of beers, snacks, frozen foods, cereals and more. the dairy section is located close to checkout.the allure of this location is that it is a new supermarket in the EV/ABC City. the cons are the baked good area is small, so bagels, breads etc get wrecked and emptied by customers most days. other food areas feel small. line management is pretty bad at this location, and it shows on busy nights. avoid this location on busy evenings on Thursday and Friday as well as weekend hours.the staff? some are really engaged in being TJ employees and those interactions are great. others not so much seem not that into TJ’s experience. that said, it’s a newish location, so maybe it’s growing pains.drops mic cuz groceries are life
Foremost its nearer to where live, which is wonderfully convenient. It really matters to the LES and also pertains to transportation and other services were without. The location also alleviates the congestion of the Union Square T.Js. I can actually shop! Not run in and retrieve my list of items and get out of there as fast as I can! The only thing that I dislike is that its underground. Kind of dismal. But I❤Trader Joes anywhere.
Wow! Are we thrilled to (finally!) have out own East Village TJs! We love love love this place and it is just so conveniently located there at the convergence of EV and ST (StuyTown)! What? 40K residents from 14th to 23rd Street (including PCV--Peter Cooper Village)!? Yeah, OK, youve found a way to make us all--of of us, I imagine--super-duper happy! Thanks a lot!!!
Im not sure if the staff are just generally too new to know customer service, etiquette, and manners, BUT I felt awkward coming here. The exit is strange, they want you to climb back upstairs to exit but the Up escalators are all the way around the bend back where you came in. Also, the lady barked at me when I went to pay (there were ten cashiers free, and she yelled at me to wait my turn until she called me, and to step behind the line when I was the only customer in the line??). Also, there was an African American gentleman following me out the door until I exited (profiling of some sort). Very strange TJs in my opinion. Will not return.

2022-03-06The perfect grocery store, unless you want a name brand thing only. Extremely large underground store with possibly everything you need at low prices, very helpful staff, great quality with a guarantee (if you dont like they will take it back and give a refund).97% of things I have brought from trader Joes I have loved and I still have hundreds left to try and they bring out new things every week too. The only other issue is they sometimes stop selling some things to let new products come in, so if you really love something, you may need to stockpile it.

2022-06-18This is my new favorite Trader Joes location. What a blessing to have it in my neighborhood. Its clear and organized. The staff is courteous. It has good variety of items which I can find without much trouble. The drawing on the wall is customized to map out special local landmarks in the East Village. I find it super interesting too. Will be looking for them as I walk around the neighborhood as now the nice warm weather is coming back.

2022-07-08Grocery store was well organized and efficient. Everything was well designed for a quick walk around for groceries with a nice decor. The line was a little long however, but they did their best to get everyone moving along.

2022-03-13Its Trader Joes- everything is fantabulous. Fresh berries. Great frozen items like the breaded ravioli & mac and cheese balls, both great dipped in heated pizza sauce. The bird nests and the Vegetable dumplings deserve honorable mentions. Good cheeses for good prices (such as the burrata, brie, etc).Neat store. Very friendly employees. Occasionally long lines but moves very fast.

2022-04-20I am a loyal Trader Joe’s shopper. I shop 3-4 times a week on an average. My overall experience with this store has been very positive. However, Johnny Liu (I am guessing he is a manager) changed it for me. He was incredibly rude and showed reluctance in helping me with a return. He wouldn’t even look up the product in his system to secure the UPC code. He asked me to go and search for the items in the store. I told him I couldn’t find one of them and he asked, “how do I know you even bought it from here.” I asked him to look up transaction between 8:30-9 at register 14. I have seen people walk out of this store on several occasions without paying. Here, I was being interrogated and talked to like a thief. He genuinely made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. He is anything but customer centric. My one interaction with him has left such a bad taste in my mouth.

2022-03-05Tatiana was the real MVP for making sure that my water bottles had a makeshift handle. They know were in walk ups lol. I like this store a lot. Good location and always a ton of great finds.

2022-07-07This location has a lot more items than the on on Grand Street and my friend says more than 59tg street. The line was long but moves quickly. Staff is friendly and the aisles are kept nice and clean.

2022-04-14All Trader Joes carry the same products so you already know pretty much what you are going to find here. Its in the basement so you have to take elevator, escalator or stairs both ways. The big plus is that it is larger than the one a few blocks to the West so you dont have the issue of constantly cramped aisles like that one has.

2022-06-28I don’t normally review places especially places I go at least twice a week but this Trader Joe’s, despite the crowds at peak hours, could not have friendlier staff. I have yet to leave the store without a positive interaction with an employee that makes my day a little better so thank you tj’s!

2020-01-06Love that they opened up a Trader Joe’s in east village! The one at union square is always so packed the lines were ridiculous at times. This Trader Joe’s is another one of the underground ones and it’s about the same size as the union square one if not a little bigger. Came here on opening day and everything was well stocked and had the same great TJ products as usual. Everyone was also super helpful considering the employees were also getting used to where everything was. Hopefully with this new store it will help with some of the traffic of the union square location.
