We recently had a wonderful stay at the Trails End Inn! Our room was warm, clean, and cozy with beautiful views and plenty of space. Breakfasts were delicious and included a variety of freshly made brunch delights and plenty of good coffee. We were right in the heart of hiking country and a short distance from Lake Placid. The Trails End Inn worked hard to make our stay comfortable despite all the necessary Covid precautions that were taken. We highly recommend a visit to the Trails End Inn and will definitely be back! Thank you!
We had a wonderful stay at the AlgonquinCottage in February. The house was very clean and warm. We enjoyed getting a delicious, hearty breakfast from the main inn each morning! I appreciated the gluten free options provided - amazing baked goods!! Great home base for adventures in Lake Placid and at Whiteface. We look forward to our next visit.
We had a wonderful time at Trails End Inn last weekend. It was my sons 24th birthday and we booked the Allen Room which has additional beds in the screen porch. Fabulous location. Wonderful breakfasts. Such a pleasant place to relax for the weekend. There are lots of spaces downstairs to relax and be separate from other guests... or to join in if that is desired! Well definitely be back.
My partner and I just visited Trails End Inn and could not have been happier with our stay. It was this last weekend the Trails End switched from offering guests a cook breakfast to providing a meal voucher at the wonderful coffee shop Old Mountain Coffee located right next door. The food at Old Mountain Coffee was exceptional and were filling and tasty enough to fuel a full days hiking adventure. The inn itself is a wonderful place to relax, with a beautiful deck and ADK chairs, rooms for reading and playing games and a dining area to bring back food and lounge. Room was spacious and comfortable, but above all staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. Trails End is definitely our go-to for our next High Peaks visit
A beautiful location and amenities for the seasoned skier / Adirondack lover looking to enjoy all the that the area offers. Breakfast was large and quite enjoyable.. even though Im recently gluten and dairy free. The extras are a special touch. Definitely worth the trip. We have already planned our next Trails End stay.
My three year old son and I stayed at this wonderful inn while visiting our family in the Adirondacks. Susan and Sherry made us feel at home with the delicious daily breakfast and care. Our room and shared bathroom was always kept clean and filled with clean towels/toiletries. The beds were comfortable and the inn was nice and quiet through out the day. My son misses Sherry and the daily chipmunk sighting. We will be back next summer!
The innkeepers are amazing the rooms are beautiful housekeeping staff is so friendly access to trails snowshoeing anything you want to do and they will go out of their way to get you a map if you want one to go anywhere highly recommended beautiful place Ill be back again this spring
We couldn’t be happier with our stay at the inn. In addition to serving a delicious and hearty breakfast each morning, having very cozy guestrooms and common spaces, and other nice touches like homemade coolies, coffee and tea on demand, they also went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. They were wonderful hosts, the inn is in a great location and we thoroughly appreciated them being dog friendly too! We will be sure to stay there again next time we’re in the area.
We had an amazing experience at Trails End. Breakfast was always tasty (we loved the ginger apricot scones, lemon cookies, and snickerdoodles!). Check-in was super smooth and we appreciated all the thoughtful considerations and adjustments made for the pandemic season. The cottage we stayed in was comfy and just what we needed for a party of 4. We built a warm fire in the fireplace every night and used the charcoal grill to grill steaks for our dinner one night. Dave was extremely responsive to my emails and questions before and after the trip. Highly recommend staying here for your Adirondacks trip!
I have been coming to the Trails End Inn too many times over the past 10 plus years. I think Ive stayed at every room in the Inn and all the cabins. This place makes me happy! The breakfast is phenomenal. The staff is some of the friendliest people you will meet. The building has a very unique charm to it.
I stayed with 3 friends at Trail’s End Inn over 2 nights this past New Years Eve weekend so we could have a warm bed after winter hiking. And we would come back! The Inn is a cozy and friendly place with delicious breakfasts that change daily. I hadn’t come in expecting too much from food but was pleasantly surprised at what we were served. Our room was the Esther Room with a fireplace and whirlpool tub, with its own side entrance away from the main common areas.Covid-19 safety protocols seemed very solid and we never felt there were too many people gathering anywhere while we were there. The inn staff had clear systems for keeping things as safe as possible and made it easier for guests to do the same.Overall we’d definitely visit again and would perhaps even try to stay in the standalone cottage. Thanks for having us!
Such a lovely and welcoming place to stay! We just finished our third stay in six months, and it feels like our home-away-from home. The accommodations are comfortable and immaculate. The breakfasts are amazing and delicious. The Inn common spaces are charming, a true reflection of the Adirondack culture and spirit that we have come to enjoy so much. After completing our first two High Peak climbs this stay, we were so glad to have a quiet and comfortable place to come home to afterward. Well be back in the Fall for more! Thank you for making our stay such an enjoyable experience!
I have stayed with Trails End Inn three times this season. That says it all. Clean, comfortable, quiet, there if you need them but also give you your space. I go as a base camp to hike but look forward to returning with my wife for the atmosphere and delicious breakfast. The guest kitchen area is great to help me prep for hikes. Coffee, microwave, fridge, even the kitchen sink! Im not tell you my favorite room for fear of it being booked!
We stayed in the Haystack Loft with 3 adults and 2 children and 2 dogs. Let me tell you- it was so refreshing to arrive and be greeted by the smell of CLEAN! Also- 2 dog paw towels and dog treats were left on the table for us. The king size bed was comfortable and warm and they had a blow-up mattress for our third adult. Breakfast, as usual, was DELICIOUS! Great service, great COVID policies, and a beautiful setting. I couldnt ask for anything more.
We stayed there for 3 nights and really love this place and the way it is managed. The place is warmly decorated with fireplaces in several rooms: the fire was setup in the breakfast room every morning, and in the saloon on the first evening when we arrived. See our table next to fire for 2 mornings!Breakfast is really tasty for the American standard and homemade which is very rare in the US... and you can make your choice 24h before!Bedrooms and baths are tidy clean. Baths are shared but it was not the case for ours maybe due to covid time. The heaters of our room and everywhere in the Inn didn’t work at anytime, I believe for obvious cost reason (and for the planet..) but in our room Terry which is exposed with windows on 2 sides, we were cold during the night (58F...). Then Dave gave us a portable heater for our last night but the electrical installation didn’t support its power, some sockets of our room didn’t operate anymore after we used it (the circuit breakers opened to protect from overheating on cables connections). It was really convenient to use the mud room to clean and dry our shoes after our hike to the Rooster comb which is accessible from the inn (end of the hike was fully icy). For dining, I really advise the Crown plaza, which is an expensive hotel but you can have dining for a normal price, and with a very nice view on the placid lake!
My husband and I absolutely love the Trails End Inn. Our stay could not have been better. The building itself is beautiful with a huge covered porch, cozy library, and fun game room for general use (in addition to a wonderful kitchenette). Our room was comfortable and cozy--perfect for relaxing and sleeping after tough hikes. The location is perfect. Amazing hikes are just down the road (we even walked to the Rooster Comb trailhead). The daily breakfasts were incredible. I requested gluten free meals, and was treated with some of the best breakfasts Ive ever had (seriously...I would stay here just for the banana walnut pancakes). As an added bonus for other gluten free folks, theres a great restaurant down the street with extensive, delicious gluten free (and gluten-full) menu. Susan and Dave clearly care about their guests and their property. I was especially thankful for their hard work in making our stay COVID-safe. They thought of everything and I felt completely safe and relaxed during our stay. Thank you both for your hard work!
Cozy and Courteous Service in the Middle of New Yorks Finest Outdoor ParkI recently stayed at the Inn (a second time) to ice climb. The registration process was simple and they did an outstanding job in making the Inn COVID Friendly. The only time I saw the staff was at breakfast whereby I had my own table and time slot with my pre-ordered meal waiting for me. The service was prompt, courteous and safe. And the home-cooked breakfasts were delicious. The rooms were clean, warm, and had all the amenities needed for my three night stay. The pricing was on spot and in fact represented real value. I recommend the Trails End Inn whether you want a home to go out and adventure from or if you want to just relax in a quaint and quiet setting.
The property and location, the inn, THE FOOD and every thoughtful touch from the kind, responsive staff made for a truly lovely stay. I was in town for three days of hiking and found it was within 20 minutes of dozens of amazing hikes and easily walkable to the charming little town. They’ve truly spared no expense making a guest’s stay convenient and comfortable from a mud room with shoe drying rack and shower to a stocked kitchen, maps, books and even freshly baked afternoon cookies! The popular Roostercomb trailhead (one of my favorite ADK hikes) can be accessed a short walk down the peaceful driveway by cutting through a side path and walking along a beaver pond. I’ve never stayed in a B&B like this, it was just a perfect visit. Hope to return next summer. Thanks Susan, Dave and Sherry!
This is the third time we have stayed at Trails End Inn and each time has been wonderful. We recently spent a week with them. Before arriving this time, we were a little nervous because of COVID-19, but Sue and Dave have everything perfectly planned. The rooms are super clean and the scheduled breakfasts work perfectly. Even though there are other guests at the inn, you barely see them and when you do, everyone is wearing a mask. They take care of every detail to ensure you have a great time. From the home baked cookies that we loved, to the towel and treats they leave for our furry companion everything is perfect. The breakfasts are delicious! The inn’s location is right in the middle of the High Peaks area which makes it super convenient. Two days of our stay we just leaved the car in the inn and walked to our hiking destination.Trail’s End Inn is our go-to place to stay while in the High Peaks area. We will certainly come back.
Highly recommend!! We recently spent a week at Trails End Inns Cascade cottage. First off, Dave and Susan were incredibly helpful leading up to our visit -- easy to book, great directions, fast responses. Second, the cottage was PERFECT!!! Clean, comfortable, well located, peaceful spot. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and loved staying at Cascade Cottage. I rarely say this, but we will definitely be back!
Overall wonderful stay. The location is just perfect for an Adirondack region getaway...half an hour from Lake Placid and away from the crowds. Even during a pandemic, the service was superb. We stayed in the Haystack Suite above the garage...absolutely lovely, private spot well worth the modest price. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely space. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Trail’s End is delightful in every way. The common spaces are varied and welcoming; the rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished - I especially recommend the sleeping porches. And the breakfasts! Those scones!! Susan, Sherry, and Dave are unobtrusively thoughtful and accommodating, and are doing extra cleaning and taking sensible precautions to allow social distancing. If you’re hiking or climbing, you’ll appreciate the mud room in back, which features boot-drying machines and an extra shower room. But the Inn is so comfortable that you’ll be tempted to forego any exertions and lounge around on the front porch instead.Looking forward to a return visit!
Weve been coming here for many years, and the accommodations and service are better than they have ever been. Its an ideal location for day hikes in the High Peaks and surrounding areas. Its got very good food for breakfast in the morning. Its got nice clean rooms, and great common areas, including one of my favorite front porches in the entire world. If you come up to Keene Valley and youre not back in the woods in a tent, this is where you want to stay.P.S. And the extra cleaning and other protocols currently in place are conscientiously and comprehensively applied, and more than adequate if you have concerns about travelling during the pandemic.
This place is tucked away just off the main road through Keene Valley. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Trails End Inn. The baked goods provided in addition to your full breakfast were such a nice touch and they offered gluten free and vegetarian options. We brought our dogs and stayed in the Ester room. Would not recommend bringing small dogs as they tend to scare easily and our room was on the first floor so every time someone passed by our windows or came into the hallway, our pups thought it might be danger (this is how they respond at home too)! Will definitely visit again without the dogs next time.
Fantastic!!! Stayed here for four days, the COVID preparations were thorough and well executed. The breakfasts were delicious, cutely presented, and varied. The Marcy Room was much larger than I expected and very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Located close to hikes and in a stunning part of the park.Only note is that we wouldve liked to sit on the porch at night without the green glow from the string lights.
Absolute gem of a B&B in my fav mountain town of the Adirondacks. My husband and I have visited for years and have stayed in the Porter, Boreas and Skylight rooms. Owners Susan and Dave are very chilled out and low-key, which is perfect for the setting. You can walk to the Rooster Coomb trailhead from the Inn. I cannot get over how good the breakfast is at Trails End - one of the major reasons we keep coming back! There are a lot of good protocols in place for COVID-19 safety. Susan, Dave and Sherry are all taking COVID very seriously, and I am happy to report that local folks in Keene Valley and Keene are as well. Please make sure youre well before visiting! The region is quite rural and has not seen community spread of the virus. There are a lot of older folks who live in the area. Lets make sure we protect them and the ADKs :) -Vanessa
Catamount is our favorite room and this trip we took advantage of sleeping on the porch. The beds are comfortable and the breeze was lovely. We love this Inn, Dave, Susan and Sherry are accommodating and welcoming. The rooms are always clean and bright. The food is hearty and nutritious. I highly recommend Trails End for hiking, relaxing, and enjoying good company.
What an absolute pleasure to be able to stay at Trails End! I was exhausted, my dog was exhausted and my son wasnt: 0) The room was perfect, the breakfast was amazing, but the best part was their care and consideration to help with whatever we needed. I will definitely be back!
We stayed at the Blueberry Cottage for a weekend in early October to hike the areas many trails. We arrived to a very clean cottage that turned out to be the perfect spot to come back to after hiking Mount Marcy and some of the other peaks during the days we spent there. It was a short drive (25 minutes) from the Adirondack Loj parking lot and other trail heads which made it great for going back to at the end of a tiring day. We hope to be back soon to explore some of the other high peaks in the area.
Room was immaculate, Breakfast was great. Stayed two night so the first morning we hit the trail before the regular breakfast but still was provided hot fresh coffee, fruit and cereal to order. Both morning breakfast was on time and just what we needed before hitting the trail/road. Thanks again for a great stay
Susan’s breakfasts are amazing. The Inn is so comfortable to stay at. We’ve been “regulars” staying at Trails End every summer for over ten years. We wouldn’t even consider another place to stay. It’s our ADK home base. You’ll never run out of hiking adventures nearby.
Lovely, comfortable inn with great breakfast and super friendly owners and staff. Definitely a good launchpad for all kinds of Adirondacks hiking and climbing activities.Room was clean and well cared for. Check-in was easy and accommodated my odd schedule (late arrival and alpine starts!). Breakfast changes daily and the homemade pastries are phenomenal.
I have been here twice - once in 2017 with my dance troupe and once just this past weekend in 2020 with a couple and my partner. I love it. It is so peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, and in the heart of it all in the mountains. Tou can walk down to a cute grocery, hear the sound of the river, and even see Blueberry Mountain over the tops of the trees to the north. It has all the amenities, cozy woodstove, and an amazing whirlpool tub for after long days hiking high peaks. My friend even brought her dog and they had dog treats for the pup! I would stay again and again. Also its really cheap especially for what it is!
Amazing Inn! Stayed in the Jay room which was spacious and super clean. Bed really comfortable! This Inn is extremely well run. Fresh baked goods in afternoon, and amazing breakfasts each morning! Owners were very friendly and nice to chat with! Perfect way to start the morning before heading out on the trails! Very spacious common areas also where you can hang out! We will be back!
What an amazing getaway! The inn was cozy and comfortable and we felt really safe with all of the distancing measures in place. Breakfast was delicious (I’ll be dreaming about the lemon poppyseed muffins forever). We did some hiking, some lounging, and a lot of eating (highly recommend Ausable Inn just down the road). Basically, the perfect Covid vacation.
Trails End has become a home away from home while we hike in the Adirondacks. First, the original building is an authentic Adirondack camp, located down a short road offering peace and quiet in a lovely setting. The inn has been kept in pristine condition with additions that keep that early 1900s feel in tact. There are numerous (immaculate) bathrooms to accommodate everyone who are sharing baths, with some bedrooms having a private bath. There are soaps, shampoo and plush towels which are such a treat after a long day in the mountains. The common rooms have reading, games, tv and dvds and the front porch is Adirondack perfection! For hikers there are even boot dryers and boot spray! Since we stay whenever we get a chance, we are always greeted with a note and little treat in our room which is in addition to the tray of cookies that are always waiting in the entrance room. Additionally, for hikers, the owners (Dave and Susan) have a book to register your hike in and what time they should call for help if you have not returned. These details are special and unusual. As far as breakfast, it is just outstanding every single time. We will often leave too late for our hikes because we do not want to miss out on the homemade muffins, scones, quiche, sausage, etc. Susan even offers homemade vegetarian sausage - which, as vegetarians, we know is extremely rare! I am so thankful we happened upon Trails End four years ago when we started hiking - we will continue to visit for years to come.
This gem in Keene Valley is delightful! From the exquisite cleanliness of the Haystack Loft we stayed in to the wonderful breakfast and baked goods! The hosts are completely amazing and it shows in their bed and breakfast! Thanks for the wonderful weekend! Wed will definitely be back! ~ The Hales
Every time we visit the High Peaks we make an attempt to visit Trails End Inn. The quaintness, friendly service and charming accommodations are just a few reasons we return. Breakfast is outstanding so were always disappointed when we miss it due to an early departure to hit the trails. The rooms with a sleeping porch are a must in the summer! And, an afternoon cookie or a morning cup of coffee on the porch is a real treat.
Susan is very friendly. Lovely inn. Welcoming wood stove in lobby and fireplace in sitting room. Extraordinary finish on tables in the dining room. They had to close for a week and brought in a specialist from Washington (the state) to do the job. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds and bedding are comfortable. In terms of amenities, this is one of the nicest places in the area. You will not be disappointed.Update of 12/28/2012: My wife and I stayed two nights in the Catamount room during a storm which left 20 inches of fresh snow. The beehive fireplace in the room is very nice, and we had a lovely stay. The food and service were excellent. Our room lost hot water one night, but it was fixed quickly by 8am the next morning. The power and heat never went out despite the heavy snow. I can still highly recommend this inn.
Probably the BEST BnB I’ve ever stayed in and my mom is a fan of the bed and breakfast sort of accommodation so I’ve been to quite a few since childhood. Just an all around great place to be. Warm staff, tasty breakfast, incredible location nestled within all the best north country hiking, huge and beautiful rooms, extremely clean and cozy, and sprawling and picturesque. Will definitely return AND recommend to friends and family. Thank you!
This was my first experience at Trails End Inn after hearing about it from a friend. I had passed its sign on the way to Lake Placid many times. Well, I wish that I hadnt passed by now that I experienced a stay there. It is a short drive (1/3 mile appr) back on a dirt road. It is a beautiful adirondack property that feels welcoming the moment you enter their grounds. I stay in Hurricane which is a large suite with an extremely comfortable bed and a nice sitting room. There are many windows offering daylight and views of the back of the property. If yu are a hiker you are next to the Garden access or just a short drive to many of the great High Peaks hikes. After a great night sleep make sure you get up and enjoy the complimentary breakfast that is just mouthwatering and satisfying. The Innkeepers are personable and helpful. They provide a wonderful ADK experience to all who visit this bed n breakfast.Try it once and youll be back.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. PROS: great location, well kept, inviting and homey interior. We are hikers so the quick start breakfast was perfect. Fruit, toast, coffee and juice. Liked having boot warmers, refrigerator and K-cup and more by back door. Grounds very pretty and serene. Our room was okay. The Jay room. Pros: good size, nice view, futon/couch, room fan provided. Good sized for us and our stuff.Cons: mattress springy and needs replacing, color of room was ugly - yellowish/orange. The bathroom faucets turned the wrong way which was annoying. Windows older and the and sticks holding windows up could be longer to expose more of the screened part for maximum air flow.Breakfast was very good with the exception of the bacon. It seemed like it had been sitting around awhile. Not warm or flavorful. Loved the scones. Extras left out after breakfast by exits for easy grabbing for a snack as well as yummy cookies at the end of each day.We would stay again and try a different room.
Wonderful clean stay and inviting. Easy check in and very open laid back atmosphere. Staff was kind and available when needed. When not we felt free to go and do as we needed. Excellent location in Keene without the hustle and attitude of Lake Placid. I would never stay anywhere else in the area. Incredibly dog friendly.
Had an incredible time here. Stayed for just two nights. Breakfast was incredible, the best baked apple pancakes Ive ever had. They also will make you a trail lunch if youre hiking. Has wifi, good enough to stream TV shows without constant buffering. Highly recommend if youre looking to escape to the adirondacks for a couple of days
Comfy old and new B&B. Variety of accommodations from private to shared baths. Sleeping porches.. New rooms with whirlpools and fireplaces. Common sitting rooms with fireplaces. Absolutely divine breakfast. Guest pantry with coffee, teas, frig & microwave. Fresh homemade cookies every afternoon. The BEST innkeepers, Susan and Dave, as well as Sherry on staff. Our favorite home away from home. ❤
Ive stayed at many B&Bs, so maybe it resulted in an unfair evaluation on my part.Pros:- The facility is very nice. I stayed in the Ester room and it was cozy and warm. The fireplace was nice and the bed was comfortable.- There was ample parking. The road to the house is a bit bumpy, but it was easy to park.- Walking distance to a few local restaurants.Cons:- For a busy season, there was absolutely no guidance for anything. The check in process was a book and your key on a table. There was no one around to offer any help or suggestions. Additionally, since no one was around, I could not update the card the B&B charged post check out. 50% was charged on one card and I wanted to change the card for the remaining 50%, but instead of them even providing a receipt, they just charged the original card without any authorization or clearance.- The breakfast was lacking. You are given a choice of juice and fruit and everything else is premade. Furthermore, the juice was barely 4 ounces and they do not fill it up again. You also have the choice of cold, hard muffins and instant oatmeal. Not what I was expecting for a country breakfast. Finally, the waitress told one group they could not deviate from the menu because people have no idea how much food they waste and if you wanted something different, you need to ask 24 hours in advance.- Everyone that worked the property was very terse. I asked to check out an hour later and they said ok, but you need to be out right at noon. Literally at 12:01, someone was pounding on the door to leave. For $200, it was an OK stay. The room was nice but I will not be coming back or recommending the B&B to others.
I stayed here specifically because they touted their ability to cater to any dietary restrictions, and I am strictly dairy free and gluten free and less strictly paleo in general. Visions of gourmet omelettes bursting with veggies danced in my head. Unfortunately, catering to my dietary restrictions meant that while everyone else was eating a glorious-looking pile of sugar and wheat, I got two fried eggs and three sad strips of paper-thin bacon. When they asked how I wanted my eggs, I asked if they could be scrambled with some vegetables in them. Nope. No veggies. Plain scrambled if you want. Sigh. My quick start breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs and cantaloupe. I couldn’t eat anything else in the whole spread they laid out. Extremely disappointed. At least they had almond milk on hand so I could drink some coffee. I would have died without coffee. In addition, despite the beautiful common space furnishings evoking a sense of luxury, we found the beds to be creaky, uncomfortable, and short (the “king” is two doubles put together, and my 6’4” husband’s feet dangled over the edge.). Also, THERE IS NO WAY TO LOCK YOUR ROOM WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN IT!! We took all our valuables with us, but this creeped me out.The saving grace is that it was indeed as quiet as advertised, and the whirlpool tub would have been awesome on my tired legs after the long day on the trail (if I had gotten back and filled the tub in time to run it before quiet hours). Even without the whirlpool bit, it was nice to be able to stretch out and soak in the hot water. If you eat the Standard American Diet, like quiet, aren’t super picky about your bed, and don’t mind your room being unlocked while you’re away, I think you would like this place. We won’t be staying there again.**EDITED TO RESPOND TO OWNERS RESPONSE**Lol. Im not some pampered princess. But if you advertise how awesome your food is and how you pride yourselves in being able to handle dietary restrictions, you should be able to provide something better than what I would get literally ANYWHERE ELSE I STAYED. Breakfast wasnt bad. It was just a disappointment after what your website said, and I wanted to let other people with dietary restrictions know that they arent getting anything special, no matter how far in advance they notify you.And yeah, its weird to not be able to lock your room. Never experienced that in all my decades of travel. Sure Im not the only one who thinks its weird. Again, people should know before they go, as it would be a dealbreaker for some.Wasnt complaining about not being able to use the whirlpool tub, just letting folks know that I didnt use it and therefore couldnt comment on it fully. I think its pretty obvious from your response attempting to discredit me and my experience that you really dont care what your guests think. Knocking my review from 2 stars down to 1 for the attacks. I was just being honest. You were being rude.

2022-06-27We enjoyed our stay at The Trails End Inn! The porch is amazing and relaxing, and our room was comfy and spacious! Dillon was welcoming and made us feel comfortable! 2022-01-25Highly recommend the Trail End Inn. Extremely spacious room and very clean and comfortable. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A big thank you to the Innkeepers as they were very attentive to any need. The breakfast coupons at the local cafe were great touch during these times.

2022-06-13Got away for a 3-day weekend respite at the end of the school year. It was wonderful. My girlfriend and I loved to space. We stayed in the Boreas room and loved the sleeping porch on the cool nights. The other rooms also looked fantastic. We made a fire one night and hung out by the lean-to. Dillons recommendations for hiking trails, kayaking spots and places to dine were on point. Access to all those things are either a walk or a short drive drive. We didnt really want to leave as we just didnt have time to enjoy all the spaces in the inn and outside. We are thinking about going back in the fall to use the fireplaces in the rooms. The location, staff and space were all fantastic.

2022-01-07The Trail’s End Inn ticks all the boxes for a great mountain getaway. Keene Valley is a great little town to serve as a basecamp for exploring the High Peaks and less expensive and a non-significant amount closer than that other Adirondacks town you may be looking at. The big patio and the yard are super inviting for chillaxin’ post mountain adventure in the summer and fall, while the rooms with whirlpool baths and, my favorite, fireplaces are great in the winter. For those that love fires as much as I do…. the wood supplied is well seasoned and there is always kindling split; no need to coax a fire to life. The Innkeepers are super attentive to anything you may need and committed to making your stay memorable. Already looking forward to our next trip!

2021-10-11Quaint and just slightly rustic. There were plenty of towels, a robe, disposable soap and shampoo, and the coupon for breakfast at the cafe was appreciated (that cafe has great food/drink!). Bed was cozy, the room was spacious and comfy. Affordable rates. Very close to great hikes and scenic roads nearby, and some restaurants open nearby too for dinner. A great stop over for high peaks sightseeing. Ill be back!

2022-02-27Fabulous inn meticulously maintained. Our snowy retreat was warmed by the innkeepers. I couldn’t think of a single thing we went without. The property is well maintained, the amenities are thoughtful, the breakfasts (both onsite and offsite) were delicious, and the location was perfect for east access to hiking, ice/rock climbing, and sightseeing. An extra perk is the no-drive access for fabulous trailheads. This is our new, go-to inn for our Adirondack adventures!

2021-11-16What an amazing and beautiful Inn! My family and I were charmed by the cozy sitting rooms, game room, and dining hall. We stayed in the Skylight, with a large jacuzzi tub and fireplace - we were struck by what a big and well appointed room it is for the price. The innkeepers are helpful and welcoming, and the area is home to a charming town and amazing hiking trails.

2021-06-19My family and I loved our stay at Trail’s End. The entire inn and our room were very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. It was a quiet place to kick back after our hikes in the Adirondacks. I especially loved the wrap around porch to sit and read during a rainstorm. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious as well. We would certainly return for another visit!

2021-02-26My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Trails End Inn last weekend. It was the perfect quiet location from which to access the high peaks area without the bustle and expense of staying in Lake Placid. We stayed in the Hurricane Suite which was clean and more than spacious for the two of us. A plate of cookies was waiting in the room when we arrived. Breakfast was delicious and served by a cozy fire in the dining room. It was organized to keep the number of guests in the dining room to a minimum. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

2021-02-16The Trails End Inn was a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I came on valentines day weekend. After a busy day around Lake Placid, the haystack loft was just what we needed. The room was immaculately clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Our pup had a great time as well! Will definitely be back!
