My Disabled father was told he could not re enter the bus because he took his mask off with one step left until he reached outside. This occured 2-3 hours into the trip during one of their stops. He now has to find a hotel in an area that he is not familiar with and has to miss Thanksgiving with his family. Terrible service and company. I would highly recommend finding a different way to travel.
Dear Trailways Employees and All Good People,Trailways lost our baggage on a Trailways of NY bus and it has been more than 30 days with no result. I dont think anyone is seriously looking for it. I am so terribly disappointed by the customer service. It is a big shame! They have my baggage sitting at the warehouse in Dallas and nobody lifts a finger! I hope someone who sees this helps!This is a picture of the suitcase. It is 30inch , Amazon Basics, dark green, hardshell. Please, please, let us know if the picture is attached to Tracer # 23876877 and WHAT has been done so far?? I want to go to Dallas to look for it myself. It does not have a tag and I can find it! We live in NYC. PLEASE forward! PLEASE, we need your help! Thank you so much!ps. The bus drivers will tell people to put their phones on silent but will never follow through. Kids are blasting ipads and cell phones while their mom talks to 15 of her girlfriends on FaceTime for hours on end but the only thing the drivers will do is repeat themselves. Terrible rides.
Nothing but a great experience taking their bus this weekend. The driver was great, the bus was clean and Lost and Found who located my lost Kindle (shoutout to Daphne) and helped me get it back in the most convenient way possible was customer service at its absolute best.
After previous horror experiences with Fox Bus Inc, this was literally perfect. The service was very friendly and put me on an earlier bus for free, the bus was clean, on time, and had new leather seats. I felt like in heaven. Definitely recommend, and will use it again.
Adirondack trailways is the worst company. I dont mind the bus itself, but the customer service is terrible and Ive never gotten off the phone without feeling terrible, guilty and wrong. I understand the policy for $20 to change a ticket and everything but since I had to leave earlier due to an emergency they could not do anything about the ticket not being used meaning that whoever wanted the ticket just couldnt have it which contradicts their courtesy policy of having to spend $20 if yoy want to change the time for a ticket. Everyone I have ever spoken to has been rude and uncaring for anything.
Paid for a ticket online. Showed up with my PDF on my phone at the New Paltz bus station 20min ahead of schedule. The lady behind the desk was extremely rude and said they cant print my ticket and that they would not accept my ticket when the bus shows up and that it says in fine print that tickets purchased online need to be printed at home. Im far from home! I was in the woods the last 2 days. Plus, who under the age of 65 actually has a printer at home??I was forced to buy another ticket. They couldnt print my already purchased ticket but had no problem printing me the second one.I called the 800 number and received worse customer service than the person at the bus station. Its only $23 Im out but Ive never been so motivated to shout to the ends of social media about these crooks.Scammers is what they are.I only assume alternative transport enters the market very soon and takes this awful business down.
The worst way to travel in North America.More often than not the staff members have the same annoyed attitude directed at customers who dare to show up looking to ride the bus they have purchased tickets for. They are extremely rude.I just watched a driver talk down to a very polite college student in a manner so smug and condescending Side Show Bob would have been impressed.Ticket holders are constantly told their bus simply isnt showing up and that they must wait an hour or more for the next.The porters are prone to catcalling.The busses have broken seats and many have phone charge outlets that dont work.I could go on for paragraphs more but Ill wrap it up with: if you can avoid trailways, then stay away. They suck. Hopefully someday Uber will offer busses and put them out of business.
I bought a ticket for $50 from New York City to Rochester. The ticket would not print for me so the bus left so I got on a different bus. I contacted them so they can give me my refund for the ticket, I never got on the bus I demanded my $50. They refused To give me my money back bringing up all type of excuses. They are a scam and I will never ride with them again and no one should ever. They are thiefs. They dont even deserve a 1 star they deserve less. This company is a scam Im warning you.
Good buses to take a trip upstate. They helped me skip the long wait as we were a family with small children and needed to sit next to each other. Sometimes people dont take any consideration to give their seats with a bag next to them. I wish the buses would clean before we board.
No where on when you order your ticket does it say anything about printing it out prior. I havdont taking 20+ buses in the past few years and every one has accepted a ticket on your phone. There was one computer working for 50 people trying to print at the port authority in manhattan. The employees we not helpful and some were incredibly rude. They just kept on repeating that is was company policy. We missed our bus and had to fight to get on the next one. NEVER USING THIS BUS SERVICE AGAIN. If I could give them zero stars I would.
Terrible experience, terrible customer service. First time customer, was trying to make a purchase online and the payment details was giving an error, tried another card and still having problems. Called customer service and Shae was incredibly condescending and said I was locked out for fraud and should have called, blaming me for their tech errors. Im sorry but if you expect something from the customer on the webpage, put it in your error message that you need to call! Unbelievable. The level of blame and condescension on the phone was unreal. Please treat your customers better when they are trying to navigate your buggy online products.
Customer service policy is poor (aka, there is no real customer service) and the customer service people are pretty rude about it. I tried explaining my issue to the woman, and she just got snappy with me, told me to have a great day, and hung up. I used to ride their busses fairly frequently (and it was ok, other than it broke down once and that was aweful), but not anymore. Even if she had just empathize with me a little and told me her hands were tied and acted like she didnt hate her job it would have been a more pleasant experience.
Absolutely horrible customer service. Called to see if I could change my ticket to a different location due to weather complications and the lady on the phone was rude right off the bat. No refunds or credits offered despite a snowstorm complication. Do not ride with them, ride with Peter Pan. Much friendlier and much more flexible customer service.
Called customer service had a DISGUSTINGLY VILE A RUDE man that picked up the phone whos name I couldnt quite tell because he talked like a zombie. Obviously customer service isnt his strong suit. Btw if youre a senior citizen you get half price but not online which I think is unfortunate. They dont even offer to refund your money online so screw your money at all cost. Oh and also I wasnt done talking to that man and he hung up on my face. EXTREMELY RUDE! I called back and gave him a piece of my mind. If the managers happen to see these reviews. I called on 5/6/18 at 6 PM look at your schedule and check out the disgrace you have taking calls.
When will Trailways or greyhound update their NY buses... They are so dirty, and the seats are nasty... When I board a bus somewhere else like Albany, the buses are clean and ride-able. Just because the buses are housed in the Port Authority Bus Terminal which is a hot mess-doesnt mean that the buses should be as well. :(
Adirondack trailways of new york provided me with the most miserable experience a bus service can provide. God forbid bus drivers actually stopped at the designated stops that the schedule requires them to stop at. I have been using this service for 4 years now, and this is the third time that I have run into the scenario where the bus driver did not even attempt to realize if passengers were waiting at the designated stop which I have to take. In calling to make a claim regarding my situation, they would not even hear me out. The bus driver pulled up behind my car, and I got out of my car as I saw it coming to make the stop. I got out of my car, grabbed my bags, and before I could even get to the bus, which was all of 5 feet behind me, the driver took off as if nobody was waiting. I was waiting for this bus for 20 minutes prior to scheduled pick-up time. The most outrageous and senseless part of this is that this sad excuse for a company would not compensate me an extra ticket for the following day to make my trip from Mineola, NY to Albany, NY, and then on to Potsdam, NY from there. I now have to spend another $70 to buy another ticket for the following day and pray that these ignorant bus drivers will actually stop and give myself the mere chance of getting on this bus. This is the only means for me to get to school from my living location so I am apphauled at how pathetic this business is run. I would implore anyone who seeks transportation using this service to vehemently consider another form of transportation, or at the very least, seek any other alternative.
Their policy of no phone conversations on the bus is quite antiquated by now. Youre allowed to talk to your friend next to you, but not your friend on the phone? I dont know of any other transportation system that makes such a rule. Amtrak, airplanes, subways, ferries, etc all permit phone conversations. A quarter century ago, when cell phones became popular, people often spoke loudly on them, but that is not true anymore. The company should realize how outdated and annoying their rule is.
They will block WiFi access if you look at videos on Facebook. I couldnt connect to it for the rest of my 8 hour bus ride. I am Canadian so I cant use my data in the US and was stuck doing nothing the whole time.I will be calling Greyhound and booking all my tickets to specifically not include NY trail lines.I was not impressed with the WiFi micromanaging. I could not get any of my other school work done either. Never again.
Absolutely HORRIBLE service. my daughter left oneonta at 4:35pm expected in ny at 9:40pm. bus broke down / an hour and half wait. called 3 times. first to men said daughter had to call. called again and BRITTANY answered and said same and i said i was going to dispute the charge, as i will, and and she yelled me off the phone. these people should not be in business. i shall dispute charges on my credit card. i cannot believe the rudeness. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE PERIOD.
DO NOT USE !!! Bus is currently broken down in middle of Highway. We been sitting here for TWO hours and they said it will take another TWO hours for help! Bus driver is new and said that we are in Between TWO bus stations so IDK WHY it would take 4 hours for another bus! Customer service just started ignoring everyone’s calls HORRIBLE SERVICE AND STILL CURRENTLY STUCKKK !!!!
I originally had an 8AM bus from Binghamton to NY, I walk up to the teller asking where the bus would be located and he told me there was no bus and I would have to wait until 11. I call customer service asking if there was any sooner bus explaining what the teller told me and they completely rejected the idea of it bein canceled and telling me it wasnt. Not reliable or dependable

This company has no respect for its customers they did not let me on the bus because it was full when I had booked for weeks how is it possible to have too many people and not enough place in a bus with reservation?? We are not talking about a city bus during rush hours here but about a long distance bus (New York - Montreal) Are the tickets not counted? It makes no sense. I missed a day of work and had to search and pay for a hotel night in the middle of the night because of them. I am awaiting a refund. My advice avoid this company

2022-08-08I love traveling. Sometimes the bad comes with the good, especially so as a solo traveling woman, because I have learned through many experiences while traveling during the pandemic that it is super important to always be aware of your surroundings!Traveling upstate not long after passing through Saratoga Springs, I opened my eyes to find the man sitting across from me recording me on his phone. I covertly caught some video of him recording me and immediately tweeted it out. Just in case something happened to me and I had gone missing. Because this is how something like that starts!And believe it or not, soon after, Mr. Creepy McPerv here tried to lean over and ask me a personal question - a gesture that got immediately shut down!!! Is he NUTS?Luckily for me I made it off of that ride alive, but lets make sure this mans photo is circulated so that other female solo travelers do not have to experience the terror of what I went through!Be careful ladies!

2022-08-10Took a bus from NYC to Buffalo and back. Overall good experience. Bus was clean and on time both ways it was almost 8hrs drive. Both the drivers were absolutely good and very safe driving

2022-07-01Even if you paid for your ticket, you are sure to leave with bus :We booked a bus from New York to MontrealWhen we wanted to enter into the bus we were told that there were no sit available because you sold more tickets than you have sit in the bus.We were left on the gate with no solution to join Montreal and nowhere to spend the night. The driver just gave us a phone number that didn’t respond to any of our calls.We were 9 people in this situation just for this ride.When I finally sucess to join someone the day after I understood that this situation is really usual with this company and that we should not expect any help from them.Of course, we didin’t get any compensation for the desagrement or for night in the hotel we had to book in emergency.The company just gave us another ticket for an other day (without choice of hour or day).

2022-05-24Montreal-NY Mat 23 ADP0297. The driver simply shouted Go back to Europe, this is mot Europe and left us in the middle of nowhere in the cold weather at 12:35AM. This is a completed racist driver that should not be tolerated. I can not believe I am writing this in 2022.

2022-01-22The confirmation doesn’t have any information on where to board the bus: no gate number or address is given. + If you miss the bus while searching for the stop they give no details for, trailways makes you pay an additional 20$ cash to get on the next one even if there are open seats and it’s not a busy day or time. Would NOT recommend

2022-06-22I bought my ticket and then right after found out I couldnt bring my lap dog. Customer service told me I hadnt done enough research to find out that dogs werent allowed. I did not get a refund!!

2022-06-25Their busses break down in the middle of your trip. I really don’t recommend especially if you have a tight schedule. Better off going with greyhound if it’s possible.
