I just moved to the area and I’m so glad I found somewhere with great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The sandwhiches and coffee were amazing, and I loved the large cookie I picked up here. I’m giving 3 stars because I bought a cake pop and bit into it and it was full of mold. I had seen what looked like mold on the bottom right after I bought it, but I convinced myself it had to just be melted sprinkles. Well, I took a bite and it was not melted sprinkles. I’m not holding the cafe at fault for this though since I don’t think they’re the ones that make the cake pops - they probably should just be stored somewhere cool. Even after this though, I will still probably be back for the coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I just won’t buy the cake pops from Dolce Cupcakery
I got two lattes and the employee left the espresso for over 5 minutes to oxidize and get bitter. I asked for the espresso to be remade and they dumped the bitter espresso into the cup and then added fresh on top. The drink was bitter and they added almost all ice with no milk. Not impressed after paying $6 for a drink
I absolutely ADORE this coffeeshop! I looove places that have ample parking, a great atmosphere, great product, great prices, and connect with the community on a personal level!Well folks, this place is it! From convenient handicap accessible parking literally less than 10ft from the front door with less than 10ft to the counter, this cafe is one of the most accessible I have come across lately(that doesnt have a drivethru). They have a family friendly playground area outside with seating you can enjoy in nice weather and cute seating indoors. Always super clean. Offering a wide range of products in a small square footage from teas, coffees, vegan options & other sorts of refreshments all way to breakfast pizza, candy and giftables!Chic seasonal decor gives the cafe a wonderful sprinkle of magic from owner Jenn as she makes you feel like family while you enjoy your latte. Stop in and say hi to owner Pete as well! :) He makes the best breakfast sandwiches. Everyone is so warm & friendly there in the best way, it really is wonderful.Pick up some famous Salty Rolls or enjoy a delicious homemade French Macron on your way around town, or if you perhaps need a last minute gift? A taste from today as it was Valentines Day
Overall we were really impressed! A few minor complaints, but a few things we loved too :)Complaints:-no bathroom-the kids menu was very hidden-lots of candy in glass jars on low shelves that my small toddler couldnt stay out of-no napkins anywhere to be found-very minimal seatingThings we loved:-the food was DELICIOUS! Pictured is the Ellison Park and I loved it! My kids loved the mini pizzas!-kids toy corner!! Any place that is thoughtful enough to have toys for kids to play with is winning in my book!-employees were very friendly and helpful!-they sell Amazing Grains Salty Bread(the best bread ever, in the entire world)Well be back! :)
Tree town is such an awesome gem. So many delicious foods, snacks and coffees. Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Lots of local artisian foods, and craft goods as well. Absolutely love hanging out by the outside fire with a nice warm coffee drink of choice. If you have not experienced Tree Town Cafe... Get there ASAP!
Offering a good selection of drink options for the discerning cafe-goer and dozens of delightful options for both snacks and gifts, Id heartily recommend the Tree Town Cafe.I stopped in on a whim and enjoyed a black coffee (which is harder to nail than most people will admit) while my significant other very much enjoyed their Roc Cha Chai tea. I also snagged some freshly made peppermint cake pops, which were enjoyed by all.
Charming atmosphere but nothing here of consequence. Grocery items are over priced. Pre-cooked meals are small and over priced and the pie I bought was expensive and tasted like a frozen pre-made pie. I wont be back or recommend to others. Nice try, but misses the mark.I wanted to add that upon reading my review they took it upon themselves to kindly refund me for my purchase. That was very much appreciated. Havent been back since my original visit, but I will give them another try at some point since they addressed this so kindly.
I went to Tree Town Cafe tonight to pick up some dinner. I ordered the chickpea salad lettuce wraps. While I sipped the best chai latte around, waiting for my order. The owner, from what I gathered, let me know he was out of the chickpea salad. I was pretty disappointed because its my favorite vegan friendly item that they have. He said he was going to search the back for more chickpeas. To my luck he found some! He went out of his way to prepare the salad just for me, instead of just telling me he couldnt make it and to pick something else. It was so thoughtful, kind and truly made my day.
Sharing some love to our neighbors. Locally owned by great people, surrounded by amazing staff. The food is great, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is cozy. Our staff loves stopping by here for a quick lunch, you can’t beat that locally owned feel of being able to say hello and also getting a great meal. Keep up the great work.
I really try to support this little local place but today was the last day I will order food from Tree Town Cafe, and its a stretch to say if I will even stop in to purchase a beverage. In the past our order has taken quite awhile to be ready but today it took 35 minutes for two kid sandwiches and a chicken salad sandwich to be ready. And when we did receive the order, the entire thing was wrong or gross. The kids ordered fluffernutters and there was only peanut butter on the sandwiches and no fluff. The chicken salad was disgusting; it was simply chicken, a small amount of mayonnaise and way too much salt (no celery or grapes to be seen). The sandwich was also supposed to come with sprouts which were missing. After the long wait I didnt even bother trying to take the food back, especially after seeing two other customers waiting for Grub Hub orders that never came out. Based on other reviews slow service and wrong orders is common at this establishment. My suggestions to the owner is to stop doing GrubHub and instead focus on the customers actually at the cafe, tailor down the menu and focus on excelling at a more limited amount of items, and/or replace the kitchen staff who are either overwhelmed, incompetent, or simply dont care. My kids always want to go to Tree Town Cafe after we hike at Corbetts Glen or Ellison Park but after today we likely wont go back unless its for a beverage (which it appears people in other reviews have had issues with as well!).
It was a busy day, barely any seating, and they got my order wrong, the order of the person with me wrong, and a few other orders while I was waiting for my smoothie (which was missing from my order). Cute place. Great for Folx with children. Loved the menu (they have a GF and Vegan Menu).Be prepared to wait (30 minutes for a club sandwich and smoothie). My sandwich was tastyI will go again.
I really, really want to love this place. I have been half a dozen times, and almost always something in my order is wrong, the food takes an exorbitant amount of time (45 minutes!!), or both. The staff is friendly and the location is really nice. I’d be a regular if they could just figure out their process and be more efficient with their orders and the speed they get out food and drinks. I can’t spend an hour waiting at a cafe to pick up a coffee and a bite to eat.
Good food but terrible service. They are majorly disorganized, there were several mistakes in my order. (Something missing, wrong order taken..) When I ask for something like ketchup I need to ask about a hundred times before it’s given to me. Employees seem confused and have the attention span of a squirrel. They’re distracted by the amount of people in the cafe and completely ignore the customer in front of them. They also have little side chats about their break times that make the whole process slower. If they could figure out their service I would be much more enthusiastic about coming back.
Stopped in at 5:30 tonight to get a cup of coffee. A coffee shop should have coffee right?? Well no, tree town was all out of regular coffee. I was offered Jamaican coffee or cold brew that could be warned up. How hard is it for a coffee shop that is opened until 7:00 oclock to brew a fresh pot of coffee??This place is definitely hit or miss and leans hard towards the miss side of things. If I had a coffee shop I GUARANTEE you I would have coffee ready to go for my customers.
I have been here many times and I usually enjoy it but I was pretty disappointed in my recent visit. We waited for about 25 minutes for our food. Which was understandable given lunch rush. However, as a vegetarian I really hate finding meat in my food. If they could cook eggs/bread on a separate part of the griddle that would be good for vegetarian customers.
This place is hit or miss and often times both. I have a running joke about which part of the order will be better the expected and what will be missing, wrong or changed in a not so good way. Stuff like its missing sauce but now has avocado, drink was wrong but I have double protein. It is very inconsistent in both positive and negative they also tend to run out of stuff.
Outstanding cafe, one of my favorite finds! The wait time can be infuriating, you have to wait for 30-50 mins some days, but one bite of the food totally makes up for it. The food is top notch (especially anything with their roasted tomatoes!!). The menu is creative with flavors and names, and I’m always excited to see what speciality coffees they’re offering. Great place to bring friends, especially after a walk around Corbett’s Glenn
Such a lovely little place! Its kind of tucked into a suburban area so I was surprised to see it. But nearby to Corbetts Glen and Ellison Park, so its perfectly positioned for an after-hike stop. They have a little market area selling fresh fruits and veggies, local bread, pasta, and sauce, as well as a menu that has cafe food, ice cream, and drinks (smoothies, coffee). I havent tried the food they make yet but their smoothies are amazing!Everything is outdoors right now and you order and pay through a window for distancing. Im glad to be able to support local as much as possible during these times and always, Ill definitely be back!
Quaint, nice, good quality, but inconsistent service.Really liked this place the first couple of times. However, order was made incorrectly, twice, the last time we visited, and discovered afterwards that the incorrect ingredients caused a preventable reaction (Gluten w/ Celiac)Just need to work out the kinks. Hopefully lesson learned.
Unusual and very welcomed spot to have a sandwich or something with a friend only because you can eat outside in Adirondack chairs.. in the shade or at picnic tables. I go here often. The Adirondack chairs are well intended, but are fragile...their legs bend easily and cave in! I prefer the older beat up ones they used to have. Also, they lack sugar free drinks.. a sad mismatch to their great sandwiches. My favorite sand is the Wymouth ..its a b.l.t with avocado. I came across this place during covid social distancing... their yard is spacioua.
I ordered from the app last night and put in an order for a friend of mine and his family because he is self isolating because he’s sick, for lunches for them 4 and got them some produce too! Anyway, I went to pick up and the sandwich order never came through. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes one lady (maybe the manager/owner) came to me and asked what happened. I told her and she was like oh my goodness I’m so sorry, I was like it happens. She then went and refunded my money for all the sandwiches which was about 40 bucks. I said, listen don’t worry about it I’ll be ok... don’t worry about it. She was having none of it. She refunded me the money threw in chips for the kids and off I went. What a beautiful soul and what a wonderful business. We as a family, will be back to your store for lunches when all this settles down. If you haven’t checked this place out, give it a try. The sandwiches were wonderful.
Great selection of sweets, muffins, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. The bread they make their breakfast sandwiches on is INCREDIBLE. Iced latte was fantastic, nice flavor and right amount of milk. Also did good job of not adding the ice too soon so it didn’t get watery
I love having a little community cafe and sandwich shop! The pastries are delicious and so is breakfast and the chai lattes. I just love the atmosphere, its a perfect little spot! They used to have a couple little tables inside but decided to renovate to use the space better and make it more pandemic friendly. The flow is good and there are plenty of local goodies to shop. I love to order for pickup on thier app and then picnic outside.
Tree Town caf is amazing! the people are nice, the workers are friendly, and the decor is lovely! The ingredients in most of their food and beverages are kept to a minimum, usually 10 and under, and there really isnt anything you cant pronounce from what I could tell.I would definitely recommend taking somebody on a date here, because all the food is good and healthy for the most part, and it has a wholesome and old fashioned atmosphere.
My fiancé and I went to Tree Town Café based on their Instagram profile and the fact that it is a local business. The interior is very nice. Various sweets and savories are presented in a very homey country-store fashion. We grabbed some locally roasted coffee beans (Sugar & Spice) and got in lineHowever, as a café, the service was terrible. When we entered, there were about 9 people in line, three couples and a trio of young women. Behind the counter, there were 1 &1/2 people. One person was actually waiting on customers, while the “half” person was chatting with the trio of young ladies, oblivious to or ignoring the customers. He did, after a while, flag the 4 customers behind his three friends, to go around in line, but, as his fellow employee was trying to take orders, ring up customers and prepare food, he either did not pay attention or did not care. We stood in line for a good 20 minutes. I saw what appeared to be an owner or manager in the back, but he too was oblivious to the stagnant line. When we finally did get up to the front, although we were going to get coffee drinks (we waited this long, why not!?) but the young man at the register, instead of welcoming us or asking what would we like gruffly scanned the coffee beans and told us the total. We gave him the benefit of the doubt that he didnt mean to be rude, but was overcome with minimum wage bitterness at his non-working co-worker.I dont think local businesses, especially in the current environment, can afford to have such bad service. With the “Sugar & Spice”, not everything was nice.
Wow, everything I have tried here has been amazing! This is exactly the type of place I look for: fresh and homemade everything. You can tell that the owners are passionate about their business and take pride in their product. I had the gluten free PB cookie: yum! And the coffee macaron, which was amazing!I have also tried the inwood club sandwich (delicious). I have come here now 3 times and love it!
I’ve been here twice for takeout during breakfasthours. Both times I had a long wait at the outsidewindow for them to ring me up. The first time thecard machine was down. The second time I waitedwhile money was counted. There is nothingpleasant here for making purchases or smiles.Too bad for the food is good.
Lovely little find tucked in a quaint neighborhood off Penfield Rd. Good coffee, lots of choice in hot or cold beverages, breakfast foods, sandwiches! They do it all with very friendly service. Dud I mention the baked goods? Yummy! Scones melt in your mouth! Try anything at all, its all good!
One of the things I miss most about living in the city is having a coffee shop to walk to, so when Tree Town opened near us, I was super excited. The coffee is decent, not outstanding (I’m spoiled having lived right down the street from Joe Bean for several years). I do love that they make almost all the baked goods in-house or otherwise serve locally sourced products (like Chai Guy chai, Happy Earth Tea, Amazing Grains salty bread). I don’t love the candy jars within reach of my toddler; it’s too much temptation no matter how much I try to redirect (even with the kids’ corner and toys they have set up, the candy is more enticing). The staff are super friendly and overall it’s wonderful having a place like this to walk with my family.
Cant write a bad review based on the food, because I was basically ignored by the staff. 3 employees I saw and 1 customer that had just placed his order. Stood there a few minutes after the other customer ordered, and not a hello, well be right with you, nothing. Just a girl at the register trying not to make eye contact. Too bad because it looked like they may have good food but Ill never know because I wont be back.
Just what we were looking for in Penfield!A relaxing indoor /outdoor cafe that offers healthy options as well as pizza slices etc. They have Harvest salads, hoagies, and wraps - plus breakfast egg options at 7am.The coffee was hot , with latte / espresso options too. For breakfast, lunch or afternoon desserts - with local Tea-Master teas, or cappuccino combos, this cozy little corner is as inviting as it gets!Owners , Jenna and Pete, are clearly motivated to please your palate. Their personal energy is part of the experience!Upcoming Summer hours till 8 will include ice cream as well. Can’t wait.;)A great surprise and welcome offering to Penfield. ( Located in the totally renovated Bernunzio’s space ).Welcome to Penfield, “Tree Town Cafe”!Lee V
The Superior breakfast sandwich is very tasty !!! If I may make a suggestion - Please put out small carafes of 1/2 & 1/2, cream, or whole milk for your Expresso and Coffee. Using those little single shots of CoffeeMate which doesnt have any milk products in the ingredients doesnt pair well with your coffee products.

2022-05-08This place is brilliant in the summer for kids! Love the outside eating area with a fence to keep kids contained. Lots of toys and playground material. There is a book exchange and board games and puzzles as well. Inside features lots local items for sale. Everything we had was good kids menu was priced at incredible deals. My favorite food item was the grilled panini.

2022-04-10Great food, Great prices, Very friendly staff.Ive been here about 5 or 6 times over the last 6 weeks. Had a very small issue one time with a sandwich and the owners made it more than right the next time i came in.Highly recommend this place especially if you have someone vegan in your life. The menu is about 50% vegan, so its nice to be able to sit together and eat things more to your personal liking if a person has some dietary restrictions that youre dining with

2022-01-27The owners are friendly and staff. My tuna sandwich was delicious with their focaccia bread. I had to send some gifts to Egypt and I found a great selection of items to send. The picture shows most mine and their stuff. But my friend will be happy to get them all.

2021-12-08This was a very cute cafe and the food was delicious!! They have a little gift area too where you can buy food items mostly and small gifty items. It’s small but cozy. Parking can be tricky when they are busy (like they were on small business Saturday). Will definitely be coming back!

2022-01-01Such a cute place with a ton of well curated local products besides an extensive drinks and sandwiches menu. Best dirty chai I’ve had in Rochester. Will 100% return.

2021-07-22Amazing hidden gem! I just found out about this great Cafe a few weeks ago when my son with special needs was assigned here for job coaching. Not only does this cafe excel in its fabulous food and specialty drinks but they help our special needs community by hiring people with intellectual disabilities and providing a business for others to be coached at. I can’t say enough good things. Please check them out. It’s worth the trip even if it’s out of the way.

2021-10-16What a special place! My mom and I stopped in for a quick bite this evening. The indoor and outdoor lighting at Tree Town is super cozy and inviting. It felt like coming home! We met Ashley, who took our order, and the three of us had a wonderful conversation with her while waiting for our food. Tree Town has a beautiful and spacious outdoor area where we sat and ate. The food was fantastic. Our entire experience tonight was absolutely lovely. Thank you Ashley and thank you Tree Town! We’ll see you again soon! 🤗

2022-03-12I love the variety of vegan options and everything Ive had has been amazing, but whenever I order via Grubhub, theres always something missing... Like Ill add vegan bacon or a side of fruit, and I never end up getting it even though I paid for it. Other than that, really do love the food here!

2021-08-02Awesome business, awesome people! Last Spring our church did a big Care Package project for nurses and other hospital workers who worked so hard during the Covid pandemic. Jenna and her team not only agreed to help us choose which products to put in the packages - she also assembled them for us! What a great, great, great heart these people have for their community, their customers and vendors! Great cafe too - fun to shop in, delicious eats, and just a friendly place to hang out!

2022-06-26Tried this place twice now. Got the same thing both times so it s a good idea. The first weekend I got the tuna and it was good. Companion got the blt with avocado which was also good. This weekend I stopped alone and got the tuna again but it was really dry, no mayo at all.I ll give it one more try in the future to see if the place is worth it.
