Gorgeous part of the world! Relatively easy hike filled with gorgeous trees, beautiful colors, and amazing glimpses of wildlife. We were lucky to have perfect weather for our visit. The sand deposits were absolutely stunning! Parts of the trail seemed to have missing markers, but we found our way using GPS. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

Love these trails. Visited in early July, and again today (mid September). Really hope to get back in a couple weeks when the colors are near peak. There were several trees down across the trail in July. They have been cleared, noticed fresh sawdust in several places. Kudos to whomever is responsible! Trails are in very good shape.I love the variety here. Deep woods, hardwood, Pine, swamp, and the sand plains. I love the sand plains, so unique for this area. The trail markings could be better in a couple places. There are other trails/old logging roads that run into the Greenbelt trail. Some of those intersections can be confusing. In July, I got a bit off the marked trails, without realizing it. If you havent seen a trail blaze for a while, you may have wandered off. Always helps to have a GPS in your pocket (not that you could really get lost here, you are boxed in by roads.)

We had a lovely walk; we really did. Appreciate your forest immensely. The walk took a little over 2 hours. We went past countless choice points, checking the map, trying to decide which way to go. Were we were still on the yellow trail? Had we gone over to the orange trail? Or had we inadvertently got onto the blue trail which, although it looked tempting might be too long? However, after two yellow squares with black arrows on them at the beginning of the trail (which itself took a minute or two to identify) off the parking lot, we never saw another trail marker. Ive been on more than a few trails in UNY, and in my experience the trail color is marked along the way, either painted on trees every 20 yards or so or via some other sign. There was nothing, yet numerous choice points. We passed an interesting clearing of rusty sand, what I would call a traffic circle around a wide, stout bush, a ring of 9 tree trunk seats, more than one pasture, a kind of a dump, a number of obvious dirt roads. At our furthest point, we were near Beaver Creek and Hinman Road. Until I used Google maps to guide us back to the parking lot, we were definitely lost - never worried, but definitely off the trail. All turned out well though. Please put up some trail markers, folks, and well be back! August, 2020

Really love hiking here!! Great views, good trails not too steep. Pretty secluded like entering a secret world. Has some informational signs along the way :) Would recommend!

Very poorly marked trails. We saw maybe 4 trail markers in the entire hour we were in there. We got lost and even had the trail map with us! We would go down what appeared to be a trail, only to find that it disappeared. After making it out of there, we met others who had also gotten lost there! While I can appreciate the generosity of the landowners allowing use of their private lands, it would be nice if someone would go in and mark it more clearly. May be a good Eagle Scout project?

Leisurely trails of varying lengths. Good for kids or anyone looking for a mildly strenuous hike. Trails are well marked and maintained.

The changes in the belt are amazing. So many eco systems. Great learning experience for kids and adults alike.
