The movers showed up right on time and were very professional. They loaded and unloaded all my furniture super quickly but seemed to handle everything with appropriate. care. Getting a quote beforehand was easy and they were quick to respond to my questions and give me information I needed over whatsapp. All in all, an excellent service.
I have worked with Tri-State Area Movers twice and they are amazing! They did our move from NY to FL in estimated time and were so good at moving our furniture and didnt scratch any walls at all, so professional! I would completely recommend them and they are TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE!
An excellent moving service. Ive used them twice now and each time they exceed expectations. When moving the second time our furniture was a mix of things staying and leaving and they were very efficient and accurate at handling that situation. Thanks for such a great experience.
Every staff were great! They worked very efficiently and professionally. A few of my items were damaged in other steps of the move (not by them), but they were very upfront about disclosing and explaining my options. They only took a little over an hour to move everything I own into my 7th floor apartment
I had to move furniture from a one bedroom to another one bedroom about five miles away. They were quick and all of my stuff was transported without a scratch. I was behind the truck when they were driving to the location and the driver made sure to avoid all pot holes and drive super cautiously. I had a glass curio cabinet in with everything so I was nervous but it came out flawless. All in all the move from start to finish took only a little over an hour. I’m impressed.
We had the best experience with them. They were not only very competitive with their prices, but extremely professional. The employees are hard working as well as honest and very conscientious of our furniture. I will certainly be calling them if we ever need another move.
They lost my stuff and will not admit it. They claim to have moved my items from the storage unit I rented without my permission and they cannot find it. I have called the cops twice so I can police reports for court. Their stories keep changing. They state they will call you back but they don’t. These people are SCAMMERS!!!!. They continued to take payment and state they put my stuff in crates In a warehouse and they can’t find it.l be cause of a sprinkler problem. They did not call or send me a letter to inform me of this. They treated my stuff like trash. Now I have to hire an attorney.I have paid them to store my things safely & securely and they have ripped me off and continue to play games.Do not use this company.!!!
Like others have mentioned, I was charged 2 times what I was quoted. I went so far as to confirm cost during the day of the move. Company was told the pick up and drop off addresses. A 3 1/2 hour drive at most. Moved 3 small tables a dining room table and 6 chairs, charged for 7 1/2 hours and 3 guys. Took a deposit with a credit card, but was told on day of delivery cash, certified check, or Venmo from a checking account only. Forgot one glass top in a different truck, not sure why a truck change was required, 2 weeks later, still no answer where the missing piece is. Wish I had read the terrible reviews prior to using them. They are good at what they do, and that is deceptively separating people from their money.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are thieves, liars and straight up unprofessional. My parents hired them to move their belongings from New York to their new home in SC. Was given a 3 week delivery date and here we sit 4.5 months later and still no delivery. We have called them numerous times, been given new dates- they never show up and won’t answer our calls. When they finally decide to answer they give us a new date, some excuse and the same thing happens again. Now they won’t return our calls and won’t even answer them. My late grandmother’s belongings, along with my parents treasured irreplaceable items are in that truck and we have lost hope that it will ever arrive. The woman that handles the phone calls is a rude, unprofessional, lier that has hung up on me and everyone else in my family. Please protect yourself, your belongings and your family and do not use this company. You will regret it.I honestly think that they are paying people to give them good reviews. If you look through these reviews, my complaint is very similar to many others. The real reviews.
Even with all the negative comments I decided to give this company a try. Thank goodness I didn’t choose them to do my move. I couldn’t even get an in person quote. I was rescheduled twice and the estimator was beyond rude. Even spoke to a supervisor and she seemed so shocked about the service was very apologetic and offered to come do the estimate herself and give a nice discount. Needless to say I’m still waiting for the estimate. Horrible horrible horrible. Soooo happy I didn’t give them my money. If they can’t even get it together to do an estimate I can only imagine how the move would’ve been.
Their team came to our place on Monday and packed the entire place in under 3 hours; on Tuesday they loaded the truck, drove to our new place, and unloaded everything in 6 hours. Their movers were efficient, friendly, and careful. And they COMPLETED THE JOB FASTER than they estimated, which meant we actually paid less than the original amount they quoted me. Thanks Tri-State Area Movers!
Company provides only over the phone estimate. I spoke with Rich and gave him a complete itemized list. I provided the addresses of the two locations that furniture was going to. On the day of the move two men show up in an Enterprise Rental Truck. Definitely had no experience in moving, they were extremely slow and careless with the furniture. I kept calling and emailing the company to complain that it was taking to long, with no satisfaction. The men complained that they had to walk to far from the apartment to the truck. They knew it was an apartment building when the move was scheduled. What should have been a maximum of 9 hours turned into 11. Then I get a call that there is an additional $ 600.00 charge. When I questioned it Linda was abusive, yelling and threatening, stating that I had to pay for tolls and the extra distance that the men had to walk, insane. Next Gavriel called and I told him that I refused to pay for such things that were never listed. I ended up settling on an amount. This is a complete bait and switch company. Save your money and go elsewhere.
The move was all set but 1 week before I emailed for a certificate of insurance as required by our building. They didnt respond so I called. From Tues to Friday the answering service would answer saying they were closed for an event. No response to emails or messages. I was forced to scramble and get another mover with just a few days notice. Terribly unprofessional! Are you going out of business!? What happened?
My stuff was delivered to my storage unit on February 23, 2022 in Tampa, Florida. Or, should I say it was “thrown into a storage unit”. I only had a bedroom set which contained 2 dressers which were wrapped in plastic, but still managed to have a big dent in one of the drawers. The Lane chest pictured below was not wrapped & the side was broken off! Not a cheap piece of furniture! Not too mention the fact that I was overcharged & not too mention the bins full of items that were marked FRAGILE & wrapped in bubble wrap & paper that were also broken. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report this company. Do not use them, unless you want to have to replace everything!
Arranging the move was quick and easy throught WhatsApp, movers were professional and both spoke English. Less expensive than offers I received from more traditional firms, recommended especially if youre not comfortable with German. I used them twice, once for an international move, their quote was way lower than competition and service was impeccable.
I highly recommend movers. The Team was very professional and hard working. Even though there was an unforeseen issue with the logistics of the move, the team was courteous and worked with me to complete everything. The planning team stayed in contact with me throughout the day to make sure everything was going smoothly.
This review is my sole OPINION about the services I recieved on 2/26/2022.I am not happy with the services I received this past weekend. I did not feel that the communication or customer service was good at all. After the services I received I do not find this company to be trustworthy or professional. I initially felt like I could trust the representative that set up moving services for me, she came off as responsible and truthful, but I feel like I was mislead and not truthfully informed. I was so upset the day of the move due to their error and they did not try to accomodate or make the situation right the day of the move. I tried to find resolution the day of the move but all of the representatives were so rude to me and I felt like they were pressuring me to pay for additional services that I had been under the impression I would be receiving due to the conversation I had with the representative who placed my order. At the end of the day I had to rent a uhaul and move more than half of my belongings myself which added to my moving cost. The owner did reach out to me. I did not feel comfortable during the duration of our conversation. Some things were said that made me feel uncomfortable. He threatened to sue me for my negative reviews. Again, these statements are how I felt about the service I received and my opinion. In summary, I would not reccomend this service to others. I did not read reviews prior to hiring this company, but I wish I had.
DO NOT TRUST. This whole company is as unprofessional as Michael Scott in the office. The service is the worst you’ll see when it comes to moving companies and the time it takes to actually move from one state to another is at least 5x what they quote you. I thought they took all of the stuff and furnished their own house. Not worth the money. BIG THUMBS DOWN. Look for another company ASAP
Recently moved within the five boroughs and got a dozen quotes but decided to go with tri state because they had the fairest quote. The way they price is a little wonky bc they don’t Include fees like gas and tolls up front but overall the movers were great and friendly and they got the job done in a really reasonable time frame. I’d hire them again.
The guys were extremely diligent, hard working and courteous. Nothing, not a one thing was damaged, scuffed or dented - and, we had quite a bit of fragile items. The crew were fast, careful and efficient. I couldnt have asked for a better crew in our move. We are EXTREMELY THANKFUL.
After all the reviews about poor customer service, it certainly adds up. Especially with linda coming up over and over again. I Called just to push my move date, Linda was extremely nasty about it. Im wasting her time, how dare i push my move date. Thats how they talk to people who call. Wow. This company has terrible service and once u have a problem, they simply stop answering the phone.
After confirming my appointment they set the move back 9 hours via text. No explanation. Then they never showed up. They wouldnt answer my phone calls. No call, no show. Then had the audacity to say they were going to charge me. This place has no organization and Im glad they didnt get my business.
This company has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. My move was a nightmare. Damaged property and poor service. I’ve placed an insurance claim for my damaged property and text Linda in office for an update 2 weeks later and NO response. So I waited another week and texted back and asked nicely for an update, waited a few hours and NO reply. I then texted I will leave negative review about poor customer service and THEN she texted back she will SUE me for slander!!!!!! This is how they handle their customers?? So unprofessional. ALSO, ANY positive reviews you see here are people that called for estimates and have not moved yet, you are asked to leave positive review after estimate and they take a small percentage off your estimate which will be hundreds of dollars more when all is said and done.Ive looked at BBB and they have negative rating, at this point should be SHUT DOWN!!
Scam!!!!!!! Do not use them!!!! Horrible experienceThey gave me a rate off $600 then it became $1600And they wouldn’t release my stuff when it arrived at the new location. I kept calling and no one answered my questions. The movers seem lost and kept saying sorry.Elaine cannot be reached at the office. I kept calling till some older guy answered and he didn’t want to hear me and hung up! They do not receive credit cards I wonder why!!! Only zelle, cash app or cash.
As someone who never used a moving company ever before and have heard a bunch of horror stories, smoover made everything really easy :) they talk to you (in english!) through whatsapp and always respond really quickly. i had a million questions all the time for my long distance move and they were always ready to help. use them if youre also new to germany! moving is not an easy process (especially mine the day of) but smoover really did their best to help every step of the way and were super patient!
This is the 2nd time weve used Tri-State Area Movers in the last year. They once again did a great job, everything went smoothly and quickly. We would like to thanks for all of their hard work. We will continue to use and recommend Tri-State Area Movers in the future.
Another update: so J.D. has disappeared from this scene. Still haven’t received my items. Gavriel did actually call us to go over the damages and missing items but it seems like he did it to entertain us. Been texting and no response. Been a few weeks now. He actually did threaten me via text to sue me and others who have left bad reviews. Not sure if I’m dealing with an adult at this point. Why am I posting here? My items aren’t cheap and I do expect to receive them. They’re insurance is a joke. Choose someone else for storage and moving!!!As promised an update: So a week after our move, a gentleman by the name of J.D. was sent over to do a walkthrough. He was professional and took his time with us. Didn’t rush over anything. He did search the warehouse before coming and found some items of ours and even though he forgot something at his desk before coming to my house, he made the half an hour trip back to the warehouse and then back again with what he had forgotten to bring the first time. He did say he wanted to correct what was wrong and apologized for the furniture not being put together and how the employees behaved. Still waiting for some items but am feeling better since communication has opened up with the company. J.D. is truly making up for the lack of customer support we were experiencing. We had our house packed up and in storage from mid August. When the items were picked up, apparently their service rep, Ken, who came to the house to notate the items didn’t put everything in the system and so the quote they gave us actually tripled from the original quote. Ridiculous. But ok, they had our stuff. When the monthly statements came in, we would pay on time but the next statement wouldn’t show payment posted so we would have to go back and forth with proof showing them they need to fix their billing statement.Time came to get our belongings out of storage and into our new house in February and out of 100 boxes 4 boxes are missing, not small ones either. Some sofa legs are missing, dining table and chairs all scratched up, bedroom dresser chipped in 2 places, top of a vanity bench broken off, wooden top missing from a storage drawer stand and black marker marked on an off white electric fireplace. The movers then up and left without a word and didn’t assemble any of the furniture that they disassembled at the time of picking up.Tried calling Linda, Richard and Gavriel, no one answered. Had one of the driver’s number, called him and he says they left because one of the guys had to be somewhere. Then one of the managers call back and accuse my husband of being rude to the workers. Which is their way of getting out of doing the work. The driver said he’s going to come back and put the furniture back, but I didn’t hold my breath since is was already late. Then he says he’s coming in the morning to go over what’s missing and assemble what needs to be assembled. Let’s see if that happens, if it does then I’ll update this review. If there’s no update, then you know why.STAY AWAY from these movers.
Professional business that truly understands what it takes to move and alleviates the stress of the moving process all together. It’s all included in the quote from the wrapping and packing, to the tolls and gas, breaking down and rebuilding of furniture, and the moving in and out of the moving truck. Great service and provides all the confidence in their ability to effectively move your items safely to your new residence or business!! If six stars was an option they would more than deserve it.
The moving crew showed up on time and ready to work, they handled everything professionally and moved my boxes and furniture like it was their own. They all worked hard from the time they showed up until the last box was placed in my new home. Good price, great work and workers, money well spent in my opinion. I would absolutely request the same crew to move me again if needed. Don’t waste your money on another company Tri-State Movers were perfect!!
Every single aspect of contracting this moving company was seamless. Elaine was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful in every way. Once I decided to go with this company, I got instant feedback via text messaging confirming the move.My daughter had used them and recommended them to me and I am very glad that she did. I am looking forward to having them help with my move.
Tri state Area Movers were simply great. They are professional and responsive. They are courteous and they follow up. Great price and great value. We needed not only to move our things, but we also had a lot of stuff that we didn’t want anymore. Tri State gave me a fair price for the move and the junk.Everything was seamless
We had 2 moving dates. The 1st group worked hard, very hard indeed. This is not an easy job. Unfortunately they couldnt finish the job. They couldnt get a desk through one of the doorways, and they were also not instructed to pick up the 5 items we had in their storage. The follow up group was amazing... Uriel, Michael and and Daryl. They got the desk through the doorway in 3 seconds, and they fixed a few other things that were left over. They were quick, friendly and kind, and most of all, good at what they do. Please pass along to the workers our sincerest appreciation.
Do yourself a favor and do not hire this company! I so wish Id looked at the reviews before hiring them.So I got an already high quote for a tiny job (were talking 3 pieces of furniture + 10 boxes). Roughly 2h30 work ~ $600. Took me 30 minutes to drive from old to new place. I was expecting it would take the truck a bit longer, because theyre not allowed on parkways. Instead they took, wait for it... 4 hours!4 hours to get from Westchester to Manhattan on a quite and sunny Sunday morning! I called them several times, they were always very close. The last call they were supposed to be around the block, I still waited 30 minutes. When they got there (with barely an apology), the charge was $400 above what I had been quoted, i.e. $900. I was furious, but their policy is to not unload until youve paid (with Zelle) so its not like I had much choice. After much discussions, they reduced it to $750, but that was clearly a complete scam. After the job was completed, I tried contacting the manager Gavriel, having to call probably 3 times a day for a whole week, being told hed call me back soon. I finally got hold of him, he gave me some kind of schedule based on the GPS, that was erroneous, and didnt make sense. He had no explanation (or apologies) for his guys making around 10 stops from Westchester to Manhattan (that explained why it took 4 hours). All he offered was $50, when he owed me $150 + all the lost time waiting in an empty apartment having nothing to do.This company is the worst, they know it (which is why they wont allow payment by credit card, because they know that most people would dispute the charges afterwards).
We used this company to move 6 hours from Long Island.I found the estimator to be very trustworthy- Kenny came to my house, he was kind and thorough. I believe the quote he gave me was strong. He stated that your drivers would be weighing the truck in Farmingdale. This was a lie. Your movers told us they measure the cubic feet to get to a weight measurement. The estimate was incredibly off, though it was comparable to other companies that I spoke to.The sale rep, Elaine, also sold the company very well- it seems like she is on your side. However, when it came to the move:- She did not confirm the move beforehand. I had to call.- I had to call 3 TIMES to know when my truck would be delivered. No one notified me.- NO ONE told me the rules of your payment extortion. The total cost of the move was $1600 more than estimated with no communication from an actual person as to why. I received a text message with the additional money and stating I had to pay it to get my belongings delivered.- The text message provided the wrong Venmo name. That was ridiculous.- No one told me that I had to pay before it was unloaded. No rules were laid out.- Absolutely terrible customer service.Your movers:- Yes, they delivered the boxes. Thats one good thing. 1 * for that.- They signed our names after packing the truck. We did not have the chance to review ANY paperwork.- They used our bathrooms in our old home and new home. Making messes each time. It was disgusting.- Smoked/vaped in EVERY room of our house. Both houses.- One mover in particular talked on the phone the ENTIRE time to his girlfriend/friend.- One mover REFUSED to wear a mask in our home.
Try state is a professional company who moved me twice! First time, very quick, movers were professional and super helpful! Second time the same level of service! Will continue to use them for my moving needs. Rich and Elaine are super supportive and help led so much☺️ Very thankful!!
BEWARE: F rating by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Movers showed up 1.5 hours after the arrival window, and then tacked on an additional $310 for 2 hours of extra time at the end. Had an Enterprise truck (not even one of their own trucks - which made me suspicious). Guys were very nice, but not that professional. Did not take care of furniture - they wrapped it on the front lawn or in the truck (not in the house before moving it). Broke a glass chandelier while in transit and the email address they gave me to submit a claim keeps bouncing back as invalid. Tried calling several times and Im always told the manager is either not there or unavailable. To top it off, the price was expensive! Very disappointed with this company. I WOULD NOT recommend them.
I have been dealing with Rich to coordinate my move which had to be postponed several times and he is very nice and patient! Unlike other companies they didn’t have to come out to site to quote, we went over everything I wanted them to take care of and it was very easy. Beat other companies quotes I received.
The 3 guys that moved us were fantastic. They were very polite and friendly. They took very good care of our belongings. Nothing was damaged they put together all the beds and put together the dining room table. But besides that i would not recommend your company to anyone. How can you say that the top of a hi ranch which includes 3 bedrooms dining room living room kitchen and bathroom and our boxes would only use 1/4 of a 20 foot truck. What planet do you live on. And on top of that you wanted to charge me over $2700 dollars. Oh i forgot i got a bargin. You only charged me altogether over $1900. I guess i should thank you. I guess you should tell your clients in advance because i know i was never told about the additional charge. The only charge you told me about is if i go over the 4 hours there would an additional charge. I have a good mind to call the better business bureau. It sounds like to me you like to take advantage of people Have a good day
I booked my move very last minute they were so on top of it and made it happen. There prices were the best I found around and they are very fair on billing! The two gentlemen sent out were very nice and professional and got the job efficiently and in a timely manner. They were very neat and clean and took all packaging material and garbage with them. Sooo happy with my move. 10/10 will use again.
Tri-State Area Movers, has been trying to ripp my Mother off. A price was settled, and then price changed and there was no negotiation about. They started out nice... but AFTER they got the initial down-payment and AFTER the truck picked up my Moms furniture they did a complete change in attitude. From nice to put you on hold for about 30 min.PLEASE, PLEASE Dont use this company. This company is a complete SCAM!
Awesome guys. Our foreman was Richard, and the crew was Jay, Xavier, and Daryl (sorry if I misspelled any names). We were quoted for 6.5 hrs and these guys did our complete move in 4.5!! Some hard working gentlemen who were very professional and up to the task of tackling a lot of heavy furniture going down some narrow stairs.Great customer service from Elaine, although do make sure that you have accurate inventory invoices because unfortunately we got misquoted on our move which was $1500 and ended up having to pay an extra $650 because there were items missing from the invoice. All and all, our crew was great! Treated them to somePizza and plenty of Gatorade (make sure you stock up!). Will definitely look into hiring these guys again in the future!Thank you!
I had used this company last year to move from a studio to a studio and they were amazing. Linda and Elaine were very sweet and always pleasant to speak with. When I was getting ready to move this year I immediately called this company to secure my move. I also recommended them to 3 other people who all ended up booking with them. Things took a turn on the day of my move when no one had called to say they were 30 minutes away. I ended up calling and finding out they would not be there until 1:30-2. I had said we needed to be all done with our move by 4pm because it was the buildings policy that all moved need to be completed by 4pm. Luckily we took matters into our own hands and ended up renting our own truck and moving. However, we had no choice but to use the company to move our couch and recliner the following day, after begging for permission for the super to move in furniture. So, after panicking, having no choice but to rent our own truck last minute and beg some friends to help out on a work day, and being the annoying new tenants at the building, we were charged an additional $230 on top of our deposit to move 2 pieces of furniture. I was very disappointed in the whole experience.
Tri-State area Moving & Storage Corp has been a complete pleasure. They were awesome at packing quick and handled everything with care! I am so relieved we chose to have them pack as well as move our items. I was so worried that we wouldn’t get packed in time, they put our minds at ease. they truly take care of everything, packing, moving and also disposal of unwanted items. Thank you Tri-State you are great!!!
Rich is so warm and professional. People forget how stressful a purchase and moving can be but Rich and his whole team made booking and rescheduling (several times due to delays) painless and guilt free. No pressure and totally accommodating. While I haven’t actually moved yet, getting to the point I have with Tori-State has been pain free. Would definitely recommend Rich and his team to my family and friends.
My move was amazing! It went very smoothly and we had no issues at all. The movers called in the morning when they were about 45 mins away and arrived promptly. They disassembled my furniture and packed everything up super fast. They were careful and considerate with my things. Once at the destination, they hauled everything up SIX FLIGHTS OF STAIRS (including landings in between) in a no elevator building with no complaints. They reassembled my stuff fast and everything looks just as it did before. There were fast, professional, and had a great attitude. Also the move was reasonably priced considering the distance traveled and no elevator. I would highly recommend using Tri State Movers to anyone in the area. Ill definitely use them again for my next move.
This is my second time using Tri-State and we have another move planned this fall 2021. Rich was wonderful helping us schedule and was flexible and mindful with all the details. He offered cost saving tips that were very resourceful. The movers, Darryl & Rich, arrived early and started working immediately. There were some challenges with this move, and they were at all times professional, courteous, respectful, patient and gentlemen. Yolanda, the move supervisor, was very accessible and responsive and we felt supported and taken care of throughout our move. We Highly recommend using Tri-State if you ever have to move.
Do not even think about this company, these people are crooks, they quote me different but when we arrive at destination they charge me double the money. Drivers stole $600 worth of change which was in bag in dresser drawers, on top of it they dont want to take payment by credit card, be careful dont even think about this company, stay away from women name Elaine and guy name Richie in this company.
This is a company manager by thieves and liars. They stole over $500.00 from me after lying about their availability.I had an appointment for 2:00pm. Without unsolicited updates, they didn’t show up until 9:45pm.The dispatcher, “ Gav, constantly lied about estimated times, he argued with movers while they were in my house, he cursed at us, and was unintelligent and unprofessional enough to admit while he was on the phone that he intentionally over-charged me.I am confident that I will get my money back after this nightmare. But I don’t think anyone else should deal with anything like this. Choose any moving company but this one. Stay away
I used this company to move locally on 3/30/21. The movers were nice. At the end of the move I realized I did not see my tall/large bookcase. Bookcase is taller than 5ft. I did note one of my boxes was sitting on the outside of the back of the moving truck after they were finished unloading. I told the movers and one of them took the box upstairs. I didnt ask this mover about the bookcase but asked him if that was everything. He said yes. I went back to the apartment and did not see my bookcase. I called the moving company who said it was not on the truck. I called the day after and person I spoke with said they did not see it on the truck. I will continue to follow up on this matter. I also learned that day that the moving company requires customer pay them the balance before movers unload the truck. One of the movers told me this after they had begun unloading. He told me that I needed to pay the balance, and then proceeded to tell me the company wants customer to pay before they unload but he asked me for balance after they started to unload. I also noted scratches on bedroom floor after the move in new apartment. I informed the moving company who opened a claim for this. Its interesting that they make sure they get their money but what about my bookcase.I also gave the movers a tip. They also gave me one estimate and the price was changed. They did not inform me of price change over the phone. It was in an email which I did not look at. I figured the price was the price. On the day of move, there were 3 movers not 2 and the hourly rate had increased. They told me it was the same price although the hourly rate was more and they sent 3 movers due to time constraints. The building I was moving into was giving 3.5 hours to move at first.4/5: An update on tge missing bookcase. I looked at security footage from my previous apartment. It showed the movers took the bookcase out of the building. We also found the bookcase broken apart in the dumpster along side the building. There went my bookcase. I called the company. Lets see what happens.
Absolute WORST moving company I have ever experienced. Booked my move in advance and called the day beforehand to reconfirm everything and was given a $107 increase in my quote because I am in a third floor walkup (but the original quote they initially provided was for a third floor walk-up, so I do not understand the upcharge), anyway, I figured I would move forward since It was the day before my move.I was given a 12-2pm arrival window and the movers arrived at 6pm. On the day of my move I had everything lined up and ready to go at 12pm and rearranged my familys entire day to accommodate my move from Long Island to Manhattan. On the day of my move, I called at 2pm (the end of my arrival window) and was told the movers would arrive in 30-45 minutes. They never showed, so I called again at 3pm and was told another 30-45 minutes. They still did not show, so I called at 4pm, finally expressing how inconvenient this was, and was told ANOTHER 30-45 minutes. They finally arrived at 6pm and I paid for three movers and what I got was one mover and two teenagers who stood around and did the bare minimum. They dropped boxes and kept flipping them upside down, which rearranged everything in them. I had to step in and move items myself because they were so slow. The woman Elaine who booked my move and was answering the phone on my moving day is incompetent and does not know how to do her job. I tried calling the manager, Gabriel to come to some sort of resolution after my move, but he is not taking my calls or calling me back. Literally the biggest waste of my time and money ever. DO NOT BOOK THESE MOVERS THEY ARE INCOMPETENT, GREEDY AND DO NOT RETURN CALLS UNLESS IT IS TO GET YOUR MONEY.
I can’t be more grateful about all the amazing moving job done by Kenya and Nate did including all the above qualifications plus making the process a such a dynamic moment with lots of Kindness and nice humor !!!Price wise was reasonableHighly recommend!!Again many thanks and blessings!:)
I could not be happier with the excellent service and professionalism exemplified by Tri-State Area Movers. I needed movers for an out-of-state move last minute and Tri-State was not only to accommodate my request, but did so in a manner that surpassed any and all expectations. Easy booking and great communication! This move wouldnt have been possible without the help from my movers, Rob and Scott. Both of them showed efficiency and great care while packaging and transporting all of my furniture. Upon arriving to my home, following transport, they carefully unloaded each item in the rooms requested. Both of these gentlemen are the definition of hard working! I absolutely recommend Tri-State Area Movers for any and all moves as I will definitely be utilizing their services for future moves.
Unprofessional and unresponsive! This company was used to move someone out of my house in May. We did not choose the company, so we did not get to choose or approve who was coming into our home.Damage was done to my home and I filed an insurance claim with the company. They were not responsive about following up. When I followed up they scheduled a claim appointment to come assess the damage (even though I had sent pictures, at their request). No one ever came to my home for the scheduled appointment. This was July. When I called about that, I spoke with the person who would be doing the repair for the damage. We agreed that since they were busy doing work for schools, we could touch base in September. I made it clear that I could wait until then, but I did not want to be forgotten. He assured me I would not be forgotten.Turns out I was not forgotten, but rather, I am being ignored and my calls are being dodged. It has been a month on and off trying to get this settled after the date he asked me to wait for.I called the company and no one else can help me but this one individual who does restoration and he is dodging me.This company came into my home and damaged my property and will not make it right. I understand that this is not a big job for them, but the dodging and indirect refusal to make it right is sickening and angering when I have been as cooperative and understanding as I could possibly be considering it is now October.I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Being that I only had a small move to their storage facility. I went over in detail with a lovely representative Elaine. She gave me a great quote and didn’t try to over sell the move. She assured me that everyone would take good care of us. When we arrived at the storage facility, they did not try to upsell a larger unit which I totally appreciated. They packed the unit like a puzzle!! Great Job!!! The time that was allotted was on point with a few minutes to spare which was fine. The men were cordial and respectful. 😊
I used this company for our moving back in august. The estimated arrival was at 11:30 AM, they arrived at 5:00 pm. They estimate was reasonable the person that came in told me the final payment needed to be made cash which we did and also gave $200 for tip. They charged us $630 on the card later on the card used to made the deposit. I contacted them every day for 2 weeks never responded or gave me an answer on why I was being charged that kind of money. Then they stated they took the money because I did not returned blankets when the moving was done by them.I would not recommend it at all.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!All the negative reviews regarding this company are spot on! This company is a SCAM. I had a SMALL apartment move with a few boxes (which I packed on my own), and ONE bedroom furniture set, which I disassembled, myself. They quoted me a price of $345 on paper for my small move. Upon delivery, they produced a VERBAL bill of $700!!! They held my belongings HOSTAGE until I paid them twice the amount of quoted price!!! I called their office several times, but they didnt answer, or the one time they answered the woman HUNG UP the phone on me!!! I did not receive a copy of the VERBAL bill. I did not receive a receipt of $700 Cash payment to them.Upon booking, I was told that credit cards are NOT an acceptable form of payment, however. They would need my credit card number, expiration date, & 3 digit code to secure a move date by charging a $50.00 deposit. So, I say well, if you can charge a deposit on my credit card then why cant I pay the full balance via credit at delivery? Well, we are, only, authorized to charge up to $50.00 on credit cards as of right now. I was told, only, forms of payment they would accept upon delivery are Cash, Cashiers check, Zelle, or Venmo. They sent two UNPROFESSIONAL, POOR QUALITY, guys. First, they showed up late. Second, they didnt bring proper wrapping material/supplies like I had requested (AND PAID FOR). Third, I ended up lifting, loading, and unloading the boxes myself because they were UBER SLOW. I ended up loading a whole lot of stuff in our personal vehicle because they were careless with belongings. Fourth, they got lost on the way even when we had pre-discussed the route with them, and they were suppose to FOLLOW us, but they decided to choose their route, regardless. Last but not least, they were suppose to reassemble my furniture, but left without re-assembling!!!They slapped me with a VERBAL bill of TWICE the amount I was quoted, and sat in the truck holding my stuff hostage without a CASH payment. I called their booking/customer service office SEVERAL times, and they did not answer the phone, or hung up the phone on me. I paid them CASH to get my belongings back to which they didnt produce a receipt because the excuse was they didnt have a printer, and the receipt was going to come from the office. It has been, almost, two weeks since my move, and I have not received a receipt. This company is a fraud. Do yourself a favor, and dont trust them.
They are the worst movers.dont know how to move stuff.they wont listen to me and did whatever suited.my stuff was all mixed up even though I had packed everything separately. They gave m ees a quite and put the stuff in the truck.when they came to the new house they wanted me to pay before unloading the truck and asked me to pay double the amount that was decided.if I didnt pay they wont unload the truck and bring it to there facility.the kept black mailing until I paid.they were supposed to come at 1 pm but came at 3.50 and didnt start the until 4 pm.i was supposed to bring some stuff to the storge unit and bring the rest to the house but because they came 3 and a half hrs late I couldnt get a strge unit. The office was closed by the time I got there so they dumped all the stuff at the house.i had my stuff in plastic bins.they cracked them by putting heavy stuff on the light and breakable stuff. I was too annoyed with the movers.they played me by over charging and ruined my stuff.i would never recommend this company for moving.its the worst moving company I have ever used.pleas dont EVER use tri state movers.i had to give them 1 star because it was the lowest but honestly they dont deserve any stars.
If your looking for a good quality/honest moving company look else where! First review I’m writing in my 31 years of life. I feel obligated to warn future potential customers about this fraud of a company. Quoted $650 for a one bedroom move out of a storage unit to 10 minutes down the road into a house. It all came out to $1,400.00 after they were finished nickel and diming. Linda assured me she would credit us some of the difference, but instead developed a sudden case of amnesia and added to the price after the fact. Checked with the BBB and they have over a dozen of complaints. Do yourself a favor and call a real company or do it yourself. You will thank me later.
If you want to have a severely unhappy experience and get scammed of your money, go right ahead and call this company.I have never ever written reviews, no matter how poor the experience was. But Tri-State by far takes the cake in establishing the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE that I can’t help but to write one. Please read the other reviews because they are very true. If you had a good experience.... extreme luck or a miracle. I was shocked but not that shocked to come onto this website and read the reviews because the same thing that happened to me, happened to everyone.. not one or four people but MULTIPLE.I called Tri-State to dispose my furnitures in my garage. Linda was the first person I talked to - very sweet, very trusting, very reliable... in the beginning. She gave me a very appealing quote of $450 which included two workers and the $130/hour to which I agreed to. She told me that I was going to be charged for the amount of time the workers worked and how many workers work. The day of disposal comes - three workers came. Not only did they come 20-30 minutes after the window they were supposed to arrive, they took a long time to even start clearing out my furniture since the time starts rolling upon their arrival and that accrued unnecessary time (there was one guy I would like to thank who immediately started to work and who was very polite, wish I asked for his name). They took a long time starting so my parents who are over 60, my brother and myself had to chime in. There was another individual who understandably, did not want to touch my furniture - my furnitures have been sitting in my garage for a decade so there were a lot of stains and had squirrels or birds but still, nothing too crazy compared to the stories they were sharing where they found a dead pidgeon in someone’s living room, wedged between the sofa seats. Anyways, at the same time, I was on the phone with Gabriel/Gavriel, the owner or senior manager, who was telling me that I may need another truck. In that same phone conversation, I had expressed that if his worker was uncomfortable with touching my furnitures, I truly understood if he didn’t want to but I needed a replacement if I am paying for three workers. Next thing I know, I’m mediating an explosive argument with the worker and Gabriel.. literally on my front lawn, yelling at the top of his lungs when neighbors were around. I was stuck in the middle of the heated fight, feeling very uncomfortable and helpless. Gabriel was slandering his worker TO ME. The worker ended up sitting in the truck and then taking a taxi home. The second crew that came with Arnold - I applaud you guys!!! You guys were the best moment out of all of this. Now the billing becomes interesting - Linda gave me a bill of $737.50. The bill includes 2.15 hours that cost $292.50, truck rate of $70, disposal fee of $175 and 8 mattresses that amounted to $200. But they charged me $887 through Zelle as their only acceptable payment is Zelle, venmo or cash. I found it highly unusual and skeptical but couldn’t do anything at that moment. I told Linda that there’s a difference in numbers - she told me to pay it for now and she’ll pay me back the difference and that she does this all the time with customers. And believing that she was a good person at the time, I trusted her. It’s been two weeks - I have called her every other day to get my difference back and she has a different story every time. When I said this to her, she raised her voice and became super defensive and combative. She claimed I had too much items that she didn’t charge for but failed to tell me what. Every time I call now, she’ll put me on hold forever or let me go to voicemail. Tri-state is a scam - they’ll make you pay however much at the moment while they hold your furnitures hostage and then tell you they’ll pay you back the difference when they never do (according to mine and other people’s experience on here). To do this to multiple people outright, shameless and bold. Disgusting. Do yourself a favor and do not hire these people. Go to professionals.
THEY ARE CROOKS! We used them for storage for a year and a half. When they delivered my furniture they sent me someone elses items and some of mine were missing! Then they had me look through and see what was mine and what was not! I am still missing a TV and a Bed! They need to be brought up on charges and their business shut down! When you try to talk to them (Gabriel) about rectifying the problem they hang up and avoid your calls. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS!!!
I used this company back in November & at first they seemed amazing they wrapped all of my furniture really well & brought in boxes moving forward I was givin a price for a storage unit which was $99.00 monthly … come to find out I would be charged $185.00 monthly not only that but if I didn’t pay before the first of the month which they never told me was a requirement I would be charged a late fee which comes out to $235.00 big problem there I was never told these things moving forward I moved out myself bc they charged so much to move my things in the storage & there’s black mold all over one of my dressers clearly water was leaking… now all of the insurance fees that I was paying are out of the window & I OWE them money because I moved my own furniture out without permission ! Do not use them if you don’t like hidden fees & unnecessary BS bc that’s all it’s been this whole time I was using their storage unit .
The movers were very courteous and quick. They took very good care of my items especially the difficult to move bulky furniture. The call center staff were very nice and courteous. They met my date and everything was punctual and seamless. It was an excellent experience during a very stressful time!
Update 1/23/2021 Items never arrived...6 months later now. Jose Alvarez (my husband) had to hire lawyer to contact them. This company will steal you your stuff.Updated: BE WARE!!!!!!!!!!!! do not use this company. Please look else where. If you use them you will have the worst experience ever. You will have head ache after head ache. They keep telling you lie after lie. They promised to deliver items in 14 days and still waiting after 2 months!!!!! I already filed report with Best Business Bureau. I can not believe this company is still in business. I own a business and this is not the way to treat their customers. You have to be honest, professional and do the best your customers. I wish I can give them a 0 star.Worst experience ever!!!! Do not use them. They promised to bring my stuff (Jose Alvarez , my husband) in 14 days. It has been more than a month and my items are not here yet after a month and a half. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!The worst, they stole my working tools, tv and all clothes. 4 months now and never received my belongings. I just hired an attorney to sue them. I can not believe these thieves are in business.
I sold my home to move South, and used Tri-State to move furniture that my children wanted to keep from my home to theirs. I started the process several months in advance, and Tri-State made the transfer of furniture easy and stress-free from beginning to end. Rich communicated with me often to make sure we stayed on the same page, and the 2 young men who did the actual move were both personable and accommodating to our needs. My children were both pleased with the delivery and set up on their end. I would definitely recommend Tri-State, and would use them again should the need arise.
The most amazing movers!! These guys came on time, wrapped up all of my furniture and were so careful and completely accommodated my needs! I’ve never had such an easy experience with a moving company before! They were all so respectful and friendly And made sure not to damage or misplace anything. They went completely above and beyond and I am so thankful! Moving is so stressful and I’m very happy they made it Easy!If I could give 10 stars I would. Thanks again Tristate movers!
If I could give a negative star I would. Do not use them, run far away. We used them over a year ago, to move things into storage. They shattered a glass top table and deeply scratched a vintage maple dresser. The man placed the dresser then, without any protection, slid an air conditioning unit on the top. After a year of not returning my phone calls, they agreed to pay and sent an agreement. I agreed and sent it back. 2 months go by without payment, I start calling again and finally Im told it has to be reviewed .Do not use them.
The movers were on time, friendly and professional. The estimate and the managements answers to questions about the estimate were very misleading. Expect to pay 50% more than the estimate. I couldnt have been clearer with what I had to move. I was given an estimate of 2 hours labor and 1 hour travel which sounded right (Levittown to Kew Gardens). I was given an estimate about $500 (dont have exact figure handy - this included a few boxes). The whole move took exactly 3 hours. I was charged $768. The travel time was also counted as labor time. So I was charged 1 hour traveling and 3 hours labor all at $155/hr. There is no way the man who gave me the estimate thought it would take 30 min to pack in Levittown and 30 min to unpack in Kew Gardens. The intent was clearly to deceive. In addition they charged $75 for extra stairs. I told them I was moving from a second floor to a second floor. I was told I was charged because outside my new apt building there is a flight of stairs down to get to the entrance. Also, they charged the entire estimate 2 days before the move. The woman I spoke to claimed it was just a hold/authorization but the transaction posted the day before the move. They charged the balance to my card the second I got off the phone complaining about to bill.
Do not book with them!! You will regret it!! They arrived late made me miss my flight. Two of my flat screen TVs are damaged. They ruined my wardrobe couldn’t disassemble it properly...lost the legs to my sofa... big lesson learned for me. They are affordable but not worth the loses you take.
Pros: Moving crews themselves were friendly, efficient and took care ofthings.Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE. Unprofessional, untimely, unorganized, RUDE.Full details below but calling that office was an insufferable experience everytime and the customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. Would sooner rent a UHAUL and move all the things myself than use this company again. Full details below. The day they were scheduled to pick up my goods they were hours behind schedule. After calling twice to check status they tell me the movers will appear after 730pm. I kindly offer for them to come two days later because I had the benefit of extra time.I was informed by Elaine, delivery was scheduled for Wednesday and they would call me after 5pm Tuesday with a delivery time. On Wednesday am, after no previous evening call, I called them to be told by Linda, that delivery of my goods was not scheduled to be delivered until Friday. On Thursday pm, I was informed delivery was scheduled between 4pm and 730pm on Friday. At 630pm, I made a phone call to the dispatch team to inquire about the status. A gentlemen answered the phone, called the movers and told me that the movers had 20 min left on their current assignment and were 30 min away, that I should expect them between 715pm and 730pm. At 730pm I receive a call from Rich, the mover, saying he was leaving the existing job at that moment and that he was 2 hours away and would arrive at 930pm. He has no idea why the office told me otherwise. I am in a house in a remote area with no street lights. Given that, I told Rich there was no way I could accept delivery at 930pm, also noting it was unsafe for his crew at that hour. Saturday, 9am I speak to the same gentlemen from dispatch from the night before. He says someone will call me after 12pm with a delivery time for sunday. By 6pm, I have heard nothing and I call them. Linda answers. She informs me she is waiting to talk to the gentlemen at dispatch who is in a meeting and she will call me back in 15-20 min. Having no faith I call her again at 630. She tells me she still has not spoken to dispatch and he is still in a meeting. This goes on and on until I finally receive a text message from her at 848pm that the movers will arrive between 930 and 1230 the next day. Her exact text message As I said once I have the answer I would text you the time of arrival . The movers did show up at 1030 am the next day and honestly I was so relieved to just never have to deal with this company again. Even the movers themselves acknowledged they couldnt have moved my things in the dark in that area and that the office is disorganized and has zero concept for time and scheduling. Constant run around, rude, no consideration of other peoples time. DO NOT USE.
Tri-State Area Movers damaged my furniture when they did my move six months ago. The mover dropped the furniture and said they would pay for it. I’ve been calling for 6 months for them to come back and repair the damage. I made seven(7) separate appointments with them and every time - they were a no show. This company is terrible!Unfortunately I recommended them to a friend who sold their house in Nassau County. After they moved 90% of the furniture Tri- state movers billed 3x their quote. They are refusing to deliver the home owners gym equipment and furniture unless their 3x quoted bill is paid in full.We both have to take off more days of work to take this company to court ! Avoid them at all costs.
I used them for a move within state. They demanded their payments immediately on delivery via PayPal or Venmo, no credit card allowed. They wanted their money instant! But when I call to report a couple small problems and start a claim they have given me the run around for over a month now. No one calls me back. This isn’t loading that’s not loading. No response. Worst company ever.
I called several moving companies and a friend of a friend who uses his truck and some friends to help move - tri-state movers quote was less than 1/3 the price of any of the other people I spoke to. After the took a small deposit, they were incredibly flexible with scheduling and were extremely communicative. In the end, family from PA offered to come up and help us with our move at which point tri-state refunded our deposit. Even though we didnt end up using them, I wanted to share our positive experience.
I spoke to Linda and was very clear about what I wanted to move. I called her several times to confirm price, hours and what I was moving. She assured that the price that was estimated for hourly was not going to drastically change. When they finished moving my things they charged me 300 dollars extra and claimed that I never mentioned moving a treadmill and some boxes. But I told Linda several times I was also moving boxes and a treadmill and she assured me that there would be no extra charge. DO NOT trust whatever price estimate they give cause they will charge extra no matter how clear you are with what you want to move.
I needed a mover and did one of those random searches on the internet and received a followup call and email from Rich.I told him that I was moving my niece from LI to NYC and what I needed. He totally understood my needs and we hit it off. He felt like an old friend that I had called for a favor. The pricing was reasonable and less than what I expected it to be.The movers, Rob and Dale were on time. They even gave us a courtesy call telling us when to expect them and they were helpful and accommodating. We forgot to tell them about a dresser we had in the basement when we did the initial walk-thru of what we were taking. The truck was full and they did it without a fuss. When we arrived at the NYC apartment, they even took a mattress to other rooms to help accommodate the sizing we needed to figure out.Great company! Good customer service. Will use again if needed.
AVIOD AT ALL COST. It’s 2 months I’m still waiting for my household products for 2 months yet I was advised 10 days after pick up.. The team that came was great I gave them $150 tip hoping I will get great service… NONE !. I have called every to weeks you can’t even talk to a leader in the company… poor girl talking the calls… AVOID!!!
Worst moving company ever! I moved in August 2020 and this scammy company totally ripped me off. They quoted me a fair price initially and then on the day of the job after it was all completed they completely changed it to a much higher and outrageous price. But obviously at that point I had no choice but to pay it. The movers didn’t even finish the whole job, after a lot of work they up and decided that they were finished and left a significant amount of stuff still at my old house that me and my wife had to move ourselves. The company also boasted about providing free moving boxes for their clients, don’t fall for this. They made it so hard for us to actually get the boxes that we ended up not even using their stuff. And the worst part of it all is that the movers BROKE our beautiful leather couch! The recliners no longer work and the whole couch sags inward. When I spoke to the owner about this he told me he would either give me $180 for the couch (even though the couch costed me well over $1,000) OR he would come and personally fix the couch himself. I chose to have him come and fix the couch and guess what, he never came. I kept making appointments with him to come and fix it and he never showed up and eventually he stopped answering my calls. At this point I have given up on him ever fixing my couch and now I just hope they don’t trick any other people into using their scammy service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Wow. The most stressful thing anybody can do, is move their entire family and house contents a few states away. Tri State Area movers did an outstanding job. Elaine at the office helped set everything up quick and easy. Closing dates kept changing due to unforeseen issues, and the company adapted quickly. On moving day, we had more stuff than would fit on a truck, and again, they reacted quickly and put our fears at ease. 2nd truck made it soon after, and BOTH trucks showed up on time the next morning in another state. Every single item of ours made it, with no damage and no issues. Furniture was re-assembled and boxes placed where we needed. I cant say enough good things about my experience. Gotti ran the main crew, and it just went flawless. Arnold, PJ and a few others were all super professional and helpful. Thank you for making this move smooth and helping my family relocate. I absolutely recommend them. Id give 6 Stars if I could....
DO NOT TRUST THEIR QUOTES - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICEFollowed the recommendations on their site and sent them pictures for my move. On 6/8/2020 received a quick call from a gentleman offering me a quote based on my pictures for $495.00. I said lets do it and scheduled my move for Monday, 6/29/2020 and gave him a $100 deposit. On 6/26/2020 called to confirm my move, and the rep I spoke with asked me how I was going to pay the balance. I asked her for the amount, and she said $395.00 but there is a chance there will be extra fees if they need to do more work. She said it would just be an authorization and not a charge until the actual move is complete. I said to use the same card.On Sunday 6/28/2020, I noticed a CHARGE for $514.80. - RED FLAG #1I tried calling, but could not get through...it is Sunday. On Monday 6/29/20, the movers arrived and completed the move.Even though they completed it, there were issues. They reassembled my bed incorrectly and threw out 13 out of 14 screws for my foot board and did not tell me. They attached it with 1 screw...and attached it incorrectly. Also scratches and dents on both furniture and apartment. At the end, the foreman had me sign a paper stating they arrived at 10:30 and left at 4:30 (6 hours) also asked me if I wanted to leave a gratuity. I said yes, so he called whomever but they didnt speak to me. The foreman stated they were going to call me for authorization and amount. Never happened. I went downstairs to get items from my car, while walking back up, I saw the movers leave and they said goodbye. When I went back upstairs and started looking at my items closely, there is some minor damage and the issue with the bed. That evening, Monday 6/29/2020 I noticed another charge for $556.40I immediately reached out to them via their website, and no one got back to me.Today, 7/1/2020, I reached out to them and spoke to the first rep, who was very polite and who agreed with me that I was over charged but stated a portion of it is that they worked an additional 1.75 hours at $140 per hour. I agreed that they did. But based on my calculations that an additional $235 on top of what I was quoted, which was $495.00.He stated he was going to have someone call me within the hour to discuss it because he wasnt sure.I called within the hour again, and spoke with Linda who started out professional, but quickly became combative and rude. She accused me of not being able to read their quote and that they also charged me for some truck fee and $150 tip to the drivers.I explained that the original quote was $495 and I paid my deposit and should have been charged an additional $395 plus the extra 1.75 hours of labor, but I told her no one explained that they were charging some sort of truck charge as well as I did not authorize a $150 tip, especially since they broke my bed.The conversation escalated to the point where I did not want to continue it. I explained to her that if they do not fix the issue, I will be forced to contact my credit card company and file a dispute, she told me to go right ahead and that they will tell my credit card company that I am committing fraud. I hung up and called my CC company and will deal directly with them.BE AWARE - THESE PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST CROOKS WHO WILL LIE AND OVER CHARGE YOU.Obviously I will never use them again and will do everything in my power to make everyone aware of their terrible business practices.
Posted on Facebook but needed to put it here too just in case!Tri State Movers competed against multiple other prices we put against them. Rich was super accommodating and really cared about our move, you could tell he is genuine. The day of our move was stress free, the movers called ahead of time as promised, took direction well and were both careful as well as efficient with moving our items. Our movers were polite, energetic, and more than willing to go the extra mile by putting together our guest bedframe that disassembled into what felt like 600 pieces lol Totally recommend!!
The most reliable moving company. I am extremely amazed at their punctuality. They came into move my services 9 am in the morning and to my surprise they way they handled all my stuff and took acre of it i never even realized that i have some one from outside moving mu stuff. If you are really looking for a professional and reliable moving company Tri state is the place you should go to.
This was the worst experience I ever had with a company. I was charged for going over the allotted hours on my move, however the movers lost parts to my bed and spent time looking for them. They then sat on my furniture outside the truck instead of bringing it in the house. It was so obvious that they werent working that even my neighbors were noticing and passing comments.BUT WORST OF ALL, they dented my brand new walls trying to move my couch. I was told by Linda that a claim would be put it in. Then the story changed and the owner would fix it himself. Gavrielle would say he was comming to fix the damage and would never show up. This happened on 4 different occasions. When I would call Gavrielle, he would forward my call to voicemail. I have never been treated this way by a company an I am disgusted that they are trying to get away with damaging my house!
Its very hard to believe how theres any bad reviews. I have used this company 3 times and all 3 times I only have good things to comment on. I mean yes, the 2nd time they did change my move at last minute, but they handled everything professionally and made up for any inconveniences. You have to do your due-diligence when hiring a moving company and be honest about the items you are moving. I was witness to a customer who basically lied about what they had and expected the same price for double the amount of items. You cant expect to pay the same price if you are deceitful from the beginning. Not only that, but that same customer gave a bad review saying she was robbed when in fact she wasnt. She paid for what the job was worth. Im not going to say they are perfect, but I can say that they will do anything and everything in their power to help in whatever way they can. I have recommended them to a lot of my friends and family and even they have vouched and gave a good review. Thanks Tri-State!!!
Scammers, thefts on seniors—. My friends used this company to move got someone to come out tell them how much it would be to do what was needed day of move once the truck was loaded they jacked the price up another 1000.00. This move costed them 2000.00 and they were forgetting to leave my friends tv.AND OF COURSE THEY TALKED WITH LINDA!!!!scammers, scammers, scammers
Definitely using Tri-State for my next move. Got a great price from Gabi and his guys took care of moving my things just like it was their own. I told them they would get a nice tip if everything went smoothly and it went better than smooth! They moved all my things and even cleaned my apartment after to make sure they didnt miss anything (probably because I promised them a nice tip!) so I kept my end of the deal and I will definitely use them again next time! I wish you the best and I cant believe all these negative reviews, my experience with this company was nothing less than amazing.
Tristate was the worst moving company I ever used. They were 2 hours late, did not pack what I requested and paid for. Broke my new TV, missing boxes that were labeled which had my clothing and blankets from my mom who just passed away.. All boxes were labeled they just threw the boxes into living room.. Very expensive items not delivered. Then they tried to charge me for overtime which never happened and for packing they packed nothing I did . I have been requesting to put in a claim for tv and missing boxes, but they do not respond. I’m even missing s kitchen chair, they did not take care of anything. My kitchen table has wheels they took no care and now my kitchen table only has 1 wheel. The girl at office was very rude and told me if I wrote a bad review she would take me to court!Don’t use this company they are very unprofessional and do not know what they are doing. I had to leave things behind due to the lack of knowledge and communication between office and guys who moved me. I don’t even think they deserve a star at all.
This is my second time using Tri-state Area Movers, and just like the first time theyre all very respectful, hard working people. They all know what theyre doing and they get the job done. My stress had been building in the past several months but after speaking with Linda and also Joseph, I knew it would all start to come together. When we met with Gav (this man knows his business) I was so relieved! It was as if I had handed my stress over to him in a box, that he packed on the truck for our move to our forever home. Thank you all again for your time and help! Great Service and Prices and Real people!!!
From my initial conversation with Linda in the office, to the last piece of furniture removed from the truck, Tri-State Area movers were exceptional! The crew of Marcus, Arnold and Marley were both highly professional and extremely efficient in moving some very heavy, real wood bedroom pieces. They worked hard and were a joy to deal with. I really enjoyed their ability to smile and laugh at each other while they worked. The job was done within the time quoted and I highly recommend Tri-State Area movers to anyone looking for a fair and reasonable moving company.
Arnold, Mike, PJ and William did a great job, carefully packing and moving my furniture. They are professional, courteous, hardworking and innovative guys. I would hire them again and highly recommend this company. Linda and Gavriel were most helpful. Their prices are reasonable and services are excellent!!! Thank you for making moving so much easier.
When it comes to moving I am a very worried person but the experience I had with this moving company made me feel very confident like no other. The woman Linda that helped me along the way was very curtious and professional. She made sure I was totally happy and was on top of any questions I had making it a very smooth and pleasant move. The movers showed up on time and handled everything in a very professional and prompt manner. I highly recommend this company they saved me money, time and a headache!
I paid for a moving service to deliver my bedroom set to upstate NY since July 6. To this day my delivery has not happened. They have given every excuse in the book for delivery and the owner even promised August 4th delivery no matter what. He lied and you cant get him on his cell phone. Either they lost my furniture or sold it. Now the police are involved.
I was hesitant to leave a review, but the rest of the future customers should know. I have contacted the office numerous times to discuss missing items. Not only did they show up way later than supposed to, I explained to Linda and Gabriel that there was an important box missing, it contained an iPhone 7 Plus, an iPhone watch and a jar of over $300 in quarters. I had advised the men not to even take it in which they did, and unfortunately with all the commotion going on, it at that point was the last thing on my mind. I had explained that there were other issues such as the damaged walls and ceiling and the damaged furniture as well, but being I have a crew of construction workers that work on my investment houses that would not be necessary to worry about damage, but I need my items replaced. I had spoken to Linda numerous times and Gabriel 2 times and was assured they would resolve this matter. But then Gabriel went ghost and never contacted me again. I have shown them video from my ring of the box that was taken out of my house and not brought to the new house. In the video, you actually see the mover stopping and removing that box in the video and placing it to the side, and then continuing on with the other boxes. (If anyone would like me to send the video let me know). I own a business myself and would never allow for something like to to go on. At this point I have no other option but to contact law enforcement to handle this matter. If I can say one thing to future customers... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Do Not Use this company!!!! I wish I had seen the reviews before I hired them. This was the worst experience I had with a move. They sent thugs to my house. They talk the whole time so it took them 10 hours to move my house into storage. Alll of my boxes were crushed and they carelessly placed things so I had. The movers that we hired to move us into our home AAA movers were fantastic and took them 5hrs. They said this company was trying to rack up hours.Do not trust their low pricing. They tell you its a flat rate and ever though it said a flat rate on the estimate, they added in after the fact that it is a flat rate for 5 hours. Also, we were supposed to get one free month of storage and they told us after the fact that we would need a bigger unit so that unit is not free for the month. Our movers we just hired told us we dig not need a bigger unit if things were placed the correct way. Finally, they refused to take the arms off my eliptical and put a hole in my basement ceiling. They did not tell us and the morning of our walk through we had to fix the ceiling so the new owners wouldnt have any issues. When I called to tell the owner what happened he yelled at me and told me I was wrong and he would not compensate me and I will be billed $240 more if i do not use them when I move into my new home. I have to cancel my credit card and banking info so they could not continue to charge me for the storage or the moving I was no longer using. They are the definition of dishonest, Use AAA moving instead. I just had them move me in. They were amazing, fast and professional.
Tri state movers was an excellent company from the beginning, having a last minute cancellation with another company.. tri state was able to come the same day and move! Linda and staff were great from the start. The movers when they arrived were very genuine and helpful, they wrapped everything in plastic wrap so no damages were done! Thank you guys!
Beware. I was charged more than double their estimated cost, and they didn’t take everything on the list, because they “didn’t have any room left in the truck”. I was quoted $420, and charged more than $900. I also was charged a $190 packing fee for glass that I didn’t agree to. I was handed a piece of paper when the movers were leaving telling me to sign. I tried to dispute, but was told because I signed the paper that was evidence that the movers told me about the service. Which is absurd. Be ready to pay a lot more than your estimate, and be charged for services that you didn’t ask for, or agree to. On the good side, Linda is nice to deal with, and the movers were professional. Don’t let Linda’s charm fool you, you will ultimately regret doing business with them.Update based on response from owner:I stand by my review. If you want to be over charged and slandered, than do business with them.
That is so funny how Im just now reading reviews from other clients and I agree they do threaten to sue you if you write a bad review have an email to prove it. Considering the short notice I was appreciative to be accommodated. THE WORST PART of the experience is when the supervisor gets on the phone he speaks over me, tells me he cant make every customer happy, didnt care about my concerns and when I provided in writing proof that their quote or their service wasnt a gift he literally told me to stop contacting their secretary now I have to deal with him and said what else do I have to say? and said Next like what else do you have to complain about? . Would I use them again NOT AT ALL.FYI: After I tried to at least get my deposit back through my bank the same secretary who helped me pretended not to know me, lied to the bank and said they contacted me several times and acted as a supervisor she was just as rude and ended up hanging on me. Of course I didnt get my deposit back. Seriously this company i dont know how they are still functioning.
Elaine was the person who scheduled my move, and was very patient, and professional with me as I had to change my move date around a couple of times and add things and remove things from the move list and everytime she responded promptly and helped me with the process, and never made me feel like I was asking for to much.
I used Tristate Movers based on a referral and thought they were wonderful! I had recently moved and had used another company. But when I had to move some items from LI to Qns, I wanted to use a new company. And I’m so glad i did! Tri-state was professional and efficient.Linda Haggerty, my contact, was amazing! She was sweet and explained everything so well. When I asked for a certificate of insurance, she delivered. Emails were responded quickly as well which I appreciated.Pricing was also competitive. The movers were on time and fast. They didn’t waste any time and got to work as soon as they arrived. The movers went from my apt to my parents home, and even my parents thought they were very good! We were all happy.I plan to refer them to everyone I know. And plan to use them again should I move in the future.
I never write reviews but honestly I think they deserved one to spread the word. If youre looking to have a smooth and easy move then I definitely recommend these guys. Ive had too many bad moves in the past and Im glad I finally found one company thats actually professional and made things so effortless. Would definitely be using them again!!
Stay away! Tri-State Area Moving = scammers who will rip you off!I should have picked up on the signs of trouble before the move even happened-- their manager Linda wouldnt return my emails or phone calls in response to unjustified changes to my quoted service. Things went downhill on the day of the move. I had asked on several separate occasions before the move for advanced notice about timing to have Tri-State Area Moving stop at a storage facility to pick up extra furniture. I received no such notice, so the extra furniture pickup was not able to happen. After the move was (partially) completed, I was then charged for services that werent in fact rendered. For one, I was charged for an extra stop that wasnt made. Additionally, I was charged for 3 workers when only 2 were present during the move. I was also charged for 4.5 hours moving time when in fact it was 4.0 hours per the movers clock. The worst part of all of this is that NONE of my phone calls or emails were returned by either Linda or her manager after all of this happened. I ended up taking this to my credit card company.Moral is: Stay away from Tri-State Area Moving! They are out to rip you off and then go unresponsive after they do. Total waste of time and money.
We had a great experience with tri-state movers. They did not charge us a penny above what we were quoted and the three men they sent worked hard and showed up an hour and a half early (we suggested they come as early as possible) and they were very courteous and patient with us. I would recommend them to anyone who asked. Thank you!!
DO NOT fall for the scam!!!! Find an honest company to hire during an already stressful time in your life!Linda low balled the price after I gave her the storage unit dimensions AND listed the items. I disclosed there might be a few extra things in the unit and was it ok as long as it was done within the time frame. Linda said “yes”. I was promised 2 hours and 3 moving guys for $270. Marcus and Ace were great and moved everything with care while mover #3 was passed out and slept in the truck. Then has the nerve to ask about a tip at the end.Once my things were in the driveway they tell me that the 3 extra pieces of furniture that I had not listed were going to cost me an extra $650 (additional) in cash on the spot!! The claim is that the computer calculates the square footage of your items and it doesn’t calculate it right. Called Linda on the spot....she told me she would call me back and never did. Called her again. Tells me she’ll call me back. Never did. The next thing you know, after I argued it....they give me a “discounted rate” of $280 additional for 3 items....which was still more than the longer list of items in my original price quote. They had conveniently pre authorized my credit card incase I didn’t have the cash on the spot.Because the price is a quote, once the service is provided you cannot dispute it with your credit card.....so just don’t fall for it. Give your business to a company who is honest and discloses this information up front.
The 3 guys worked all day to complete the move from Brooklyn to Long Island. They went to 2 different addresses and worked so hard. Their efforts and hard work are greatly appreciated. We were able to carry on with our normal daily schedule without it being disturbed. Many thanks to Try State. I will definitely be recommending to use you again.
Speaking from experience this is a scam company. Check their complaints on the bbb website. They will give you a decent qoute and once u agree they will come and load your property then Jack the price up to an amount that was never spoke of and hold your stuff hostage to get you to pay it. If your moving out of state you cant sue them unless you return to NY for every court appearance and they know this. Do not do business with these people. The owner is crooked!! (EDIT) After seeing that tri state has responded to my post, take notice that all of their responses to customer complaints are the same smh very dishonest company again do not do business with these scammers.
The guys did a great job and it would be impossible for me to the job they moved a tend mill and couch which I thought be impossible to fit and they wrapped in bubble wrap and the job went quickly I would definitely recommend them and save your back and possibly damage your items well worth the money 💰
This company is terrible... They are scammers, they charged my credit card three times for a one day job. Broke all my furniture, STOLE MY 2 YRS OLD PEGGY BANK AND STOLE MY HUSBANDS PLAYSTATION. They charged me to move 5 bedrooms and assembly but only moved 4 bedrooms and only assembled 2 bedrooms the rest I had to pay someone to do it for me when the owner refused to have his workers come back to finish the job which they have been paid for. His workers are unprofessional, rude, lazy and when confronted about using curse words around children they curse you out instead. The owner is rude, a lier and a crook who uses this company to rob people. Since his company moved us in we have been waiting on him to come by and assess the damages and work something out. My patience is running thin enough is enough. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!! PLEASEAt this point I can see you have no regards for customer service and my business to you is nothing but a joke. If this is the way you represent your company I am the one to wish you well for Karma finds its way around. You did a job for my mom and my stuff came up missing, meanwhile, your workers did not move my things for me, my husband did. You post your lies but judging from the reviews on here you are doing a good job burying your OWN company alive. It is funny how you can respond to post on google but you have yet to reply to my text messages and phone calls to resolve the issue of my broken furniture and stolen items. ALL THE BEST!!!! MAY THE KARMA OF MY STOLEN PLAYSTATION AND MONEY SEE YOUR COMPANY TO THE END........BY THE WAY YOU WERE PAID FOR THE JOB NO MATTER HOW MANY WORKERS YOU SENT YOU WERE PAID!!! If you sent 7 workers this job would have been completed in a day. I recall 3 people being at her home one day and 4 the other day...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS!!! SAVE YOUR SANITY AND YOUR MONEY!They will OVERCHARGE you and DESTROY your belongings!!You’re better off asking the kids at your local daycare center to help you move. I guarantee you’ll have an easier and less stressful experience than with these incompetents. They should take the additional money they are surprise charging people and send Linda to meet John Cena bc that woman needs a severe ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!!!!!AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS LAME EXCUSE OF A COMPANY! FROM MANAGEMENT TO THE MOVERS, THEY ARE ALL CON ARTISTS! SAVE YOUR MONEY! USE ANOTHER COMPANY!
BEWARE!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS, SCAMMERS, AND FRAUDS. They are dishonest, steal money, overcharge, do not take responsibility for your items or your safety. STAY AWAY!! All of the positive reviews are fake and submitted by family and friends of the owner Gabriel and the manager Linda. Both are extremely rude professional con artists! Please for your sanity, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY OR TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BELONGINGS!
Wow! Awesome company. They gave me a discount because I accidentally told them I had more stuff than I actually did... At the end of the move I was given $400 by the owner. I will definitely use Tri State in any future moves (hopefully no more moves!) because of their honesty. Thank you so much for such an easy, joyful experience :).
This company will charge by the hour AND complain about square footage in the truck so they can overcharge you. The movers deliberately took garbage bags and other light items, did not use a handtruck but took out small items by hand, and left weightier items like my a.c. unit etc.Linda also told me last minute that she will only take cash, not cc, so it was very inconvenient, but she did this so that i could not challenge the payment. The foreman had an argumentative attitude and complained about moving in the rain. Not only was I forced to find a Uhaul truck to move the rest of my items myself, they charged me for the time I left to get the truck! These people are scammers who should be avoided. In the end Linda threatened me with lawyers if I went to the BBB.Avoid this business or you will be scammed.
Movers are great! Helpful and efficient - William, pj and Tarone are highly recommend them to help with your move. The Company unfortunately doesnt tell you, you have pay for wrapping and and will over charge you for over time! They said it was a 4 hour job and it took 8 hours!Gavriel was great! He came and fixed the few scratches straight away!
Horrible company!! Not only did this comany break MULTIPLE dishes and glasses, they LOST a lot of our stuff! They packed our bed screws into our barbecue grill! One month later, my daughters mattress is still on the floor because they lost her rails, and spring! They promised they ordered her missing bed pieces... that was 3 weeks ago! While moving my couch in, they tore it and promised they would come and repair it... still waiting for that... We are missing many items, my lamp, my area rug, a kitchen box, the game Baggo, and many more items. They are a scam and do not keep their promises to fix things. Do NOT use this company!!!!

2022-08-02Awesome service! Their professionalism took away all my worries and stress of moving out. They even helped me dismantle and re-assemble some bigger pieces of furniture. Very reliable and hardworking, all my things were moved fast and safe. Thank you for the help, Im grateful for the quality of your services!

2022-07-20Stay away from this moving company! They damaged my house walls, broke a a $2,000 vanity, broke a loft bed for $900 and damaged a brand new wood floor!!!! and all the movers had to say when they were continuously ruining things was “it’s covered, don’t worry” as they continued to show no care for my property or valued items!! Truth is it’s not converted and they knew that, but continued to ruin my times!! Literally two thugs from the city! They even broke a loft bed and stole it from my house and told the company I gave it to them??? I filed a police report and have not heard back from anyone within the company. Complete scam artists!!! Be aware and use another moving company!!!

2022-05-29This place is the biggest rip off Ive seen in a LONG time. They gave us an estimate from my meticulous list but when the movers arrived at my new apartment the charges had more than DOUBLED! We had to tap into our savings to cover it! The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the moving guys were really great and took great care with our stuff. They also were aware that their company does this all of the time. Seriously, stay far away.

2022-06-01This is a long overdue review. Weve used Tri-State Area Movers two more times. In the subsequent moves, we leveraged their PACKING SKILLS and the crew were far faster and better at packing than us. They were great at protecting all our glassware and ceramics, and all boxes were well-labeled. When we got our boxes back, everything was in GOOD SHAPE, nothing was broken. We highly recommend THEM for moving !

2022-05-29These movers did a very good job for me. We all know moving is a very stressful time, and these guys made it seem easy. They were really professional, careful, on time, and competitive in pricing. Many thanks to Tri-State Area Movers for a job well done! I highly recommend this business without reservation.

2022-08-06Mover Express did an amazing job helping me pack up my apartment! The process was smooth from start to finish and I will definitely be using Mover Express again in the future. Had an awesome experience with Melo & Chris from Mover Express. They were super efficient, good attitude and took great care of all my items. Recommend them 100% for your move

2022-02-10My move is scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, so I haven’t engaged with the actual movers yet, but if their level of professional and concern mirrors that of Daniel’s (the agent who assisted me with my booking) then I know I will be in great hands. Daniel was extremely attentive to my needs and made me feel comfortable even with the details of my move with which I was uncertain. His follow-up was also amazing which I appreciated because I may have missed my opportunity to secure the moving date I desired had he not followed up with me. Based on my booking experience with Tri-State Area Movers, I would certainly recommend them.

2022-07-23DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Trust the other reviews. I had a bad feeling from the beginning based on the reviews I read. They overcharge and hold your belongings hostage until you pay. I had an agent come out to my home and look at everything I was moving to give me an accurate estimate. He promised me it was just an hourly rate of $170 and I wouldnt be charged based on cubic feet. Well, that was a complete lie! My estimate was $1,700. After they loaded the truck and drove to my new home they told me to pay over $4,000 because I went over my estimated cubic feet. On top of that, the movers broke some of our furniture and never told us. There is a reason they dont allow credit cards- they dont want you to be able to dispute the charge.

2022-05-30I used Tri-State Area Movers for a move and they were extraordinary from start to finish. The rest of the crew were so kind, professional and efficient. I wasnt able to relocate immediately, so they stored all of my belongings for a good long time. I needed to access my stuff on short notice and they worked with me so I could access my belongings very quickly. THESE GUYS MADE THINGS SO EASY.

2022-05-31First I’d like to start off by saying we received a window between 8:30-10:30 and they didn’t get to us until 11 noon. But aside that our movers were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL, We we’re moving from w second floor into a first floor and they made it seem so easy !! I wish I knew their names. But all together it was a great move and exceptional service.
