So Ill agree with other reviewers...dem drink prices! But in all fairness, the prices are similar to other places, so it aint THAT horrible.Love the small, intimate feel to the theater. I always prefer smaller venues because some of the bigger places lose the charm and intimacy you can only get in either off Broadway or a place like the NJ PAC theater. Staff was pleasant. The show itself we saw was very, very good. The headliner has got some pipes on her! She can flat out sing and there wasnt a dull moment during her set.Id be down to checking out more acts there.
This theater is really beautiful. Its a lovely intimate space for a performance. If it werent for the drink minimum thing, Id give it five stars for sure-- reading the reviews, it seems like Im not alone in disliking that business model, and truthfully, it has kept me from seeing shows at this venue, when Ive been on the fence about something.
Mind you, we were WITH the one of the performers (manager) and still had an awful experience. The theater was pretty and the performers were great, however, the drinks are EXTREMELY over-priced ($14 - $17 for pixie cup size) and theres a two drink minimum, cash only. So on top of paying $20 for a ticket, we spent another $40 per person for awful and extra ice drinks. Definitely not worth it! Will never go back to this theater.
From ticket taker to ushers to wait staff to bartender to manager, everyone was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Excellent martinis. Spamilton was funny and performers were incredibly talented! We really enjoyed the show and had a great dinner in the restaurant downstairs afterwards.
Just be forewarned: this venue is more of a supper club or bar with a stage, on the model of the Highline Ballroom, than it is an off-Broadway theater. My party and I were not aware of this, which meant that when we arrived too close to the beginning of the show (we got there 5 minutes before the start time, which was later than we planned, but most off-Broadway theaters dont open the house more than 10 minutes before start time), we had no chance of being seated with each other. We were also surprised, and not pleasantly, to learn about the two-drink-plus tip minimum, which was indicated nowhere in the process of buying tickets to the show we were seeing. (Looking at the Triads website later, there is one mention of the policy under the FAQs for one show that runs there.) Putting the tight space and drink requirement together meant that I ended up on a tab with a total stranger (I can see how the waiter made that mistake, but it was still less than convenient). It seems that the venue hosts some burlesque shows, which seems like a better fit for this type of set-up; while it is small I cant see the Triad being a good space for serious theater (which I dont mean as a dig at burlesque--the Slipper Room hosts some great shows), and I dont see us going to more shows there.
This place can be a little hard to find--its above a turkish restsurant amd signage isnt great. I performed in a cabaret here, and it was lovely. Acoustics are great, sound tech is on it, staff friendly and efficient. This venue has a lot to offer for smaller, more intimate performances.
Went for Broadways Next Hit Musical (great improv show, esp if you love showtunes). Small stage but very quaint and cozy theater. Seating is tight, or at least it was packed in there - two chairs to a one person table, chairs standing alone between small tables - for that show. Still an adorable theater with great drink options.
I attended an event that was general admission and arrived early for good seating. However, there were two people guiding guests to seats, and even though my guest and I were within the first ten or so people through the door, we were directed to two seats in the furthest back corner of the room, and with an attitude that made it clear that a dispute would be futile. This followed an extra half hour of standing in a crowded vestibule because the show started late. The server took over an hour to deliver food we ordered, and brought an incorrect drink that took another ten minutes to resolve because we couldnt get their attention from our back corner in the dark venue. The performance itself was very good, which is the only reason Im giving 2 stars and not just 1. I was there because I knew one of the performers. Im in no hurry to return there for any other event.
My girlfriend and I saw Youve Got Hate Mail here. When we bought our tickets, we had no idea the venue was a restaurant that had a 2 drink minimum. We discovered this upon arriving but decided to stay for the show since the tickets had been quite cheap and we were able to find good seats. Im glad we stayed because the performance was outstanding but we were a trifle disenchanted with the lack of forewarning about the 2 drink minimum, although that is not the Triads fault per se.
I had read past reviews about the theater jacking up the amount on the bill by circling in black a dueamount which is more than the total due on the bill. When we went this week to see a show, we ordered two drinks each and were supposed to pay for our drinks plus a mandatory 18% tip. Our bill should have been $ 41 for the drinks plus 18% tip for a total of $ 48.38. We would have of course willingly paid $50 in any case, but we were very annoyed that, just as the previous reviews had stated, our waitress had jacked up the bill to $ 49.45. I did not want to make a scene over a mere additional $1.07 and did leave $50 anyway, but I did not appreciate being taken!..... next time I go to the Triad Im bringing exact change and the waiter will get only what we order: the amount for the drinks plus the minimum 18% (in this case $ 48,38 on the nose
They need to have somewhere to get some food they have a restaurant right downstairs underneath the place seemed like to me they alter get together and let the restaurant serve the people some food at least some things that they have thats quick and easy sauce just drinks or you get his drinks you can get popcorn and pretzels but he want that s***

2021-11-09This is awesome little theater. Unfortunately unbeknownst to us, the show was cancelled. We traveled 2.5 hours from Connecticut to attend and we were never informed of the cancellation. The hostess Amy was extremely helpful and nice. She welcomed us into the theater where we relax for a little while took pictures and enjoyed a glass of wine before we left. If the rest of their employees are anything like Amy they are truly blessed.

2022-05-01The theater is beautiful. Really awesome space with a nice cozy feel. The show was amazing. The singers that performed took my breath away. The host was so engaging and really added something special to an already awesome show.I wanted to get it 5 stars because of the show alone but the drinks were horrible. The worst part was that there was a 2 drink minimum. Actually, I was wrong...that wasnt the worst part. The real worst part was that the drinks were so expensive! Pretty much a glass of ice and cheap fountain sourmix with an essence of the spirit you ordered. Im not a picky eater or drinker but bad is bad. Id love to go again to see another show but the 2 drink minimum is a huge deterrent.

2022-09-17It is a small off- Broadway theater. They give up & coming playwrights & actors a chance to test & develope their craft. You just might enjoy it!

2022-01-29Very charming. Reminds me of the 1930s burlesque/ cabaret/ comedy clubs. Very New York City vibe. Great show lineup. Great space for filming as well. Not much stage space if you need a lot of movement, but for park-n-bark type concerts, this is a great place to be.

2021-09-27The Cabaret Show BETWEEN FIRE AND ICE was excellent. Adrianne Hann has a great voice, with interesting commentary, she sings in both English and German. The pianist accompanying the singer was fantastic! The intimate setting is perfect for this show.
