Johnny is the best barber in the city hands down. When I first moved to the city I tried several different barbers and received average cuts. After asking around majority of friends recommended Trimmed HK - specifically Johnny. I followed their Instagram and saw his work which led me to book an appointment. My first cut with Johnny was great, I explained the style I was going for and he absolutely killed it! Johnny gives the best fades in the city and he’s the only guy I trust with my cuts.
I have been going here for 6 months so far and there are a lot of other barber shops in the area that I would pass up for this one. I book with Danny regularly and he always does a good job. He cares about giving a good clean haircut and has a great attitude / is fun to talk to while you’re passing the time. 100% would recommend.

I booked Cut & Beard for 53$. Fast and top service! I felt very well and he asked me if the cut is OK or shorter and so on. Beard trimmed and line cuts were smooth. Thank you!

Barbers are a dime a dozen in New York, go somewhere else.Extremely rude service, and if you dare to ask for something to be fixed because they didnt do what you wanted, expect them to not react very nicely. Barber didnt even ask what I wanted, just started doing his own thing and then got angry when I said I wanted to have the style a little differently than what he was doingThey always seem to be distracted on their phones too.Also, they say their credit card system is down and force you to pay in cash (presumably to evade taxes). They may also be trying to evade taxes by asking you to not write haircut when you tip with Venmo. The IRS should probably audit this fraudulent businessUpdate for owner response: Calling someone a loser is exactly the rude service one can expect from this shop. Some people prefer anonymity online especially from bullies on the internet such as the owner of this shop.
Danny is the best, I am never trusting anyone else with my hair. This is my second time coming, and Danny pays attention to the details, takes his time, and always listens. Cuts are consistent, vibe is fun and relaxing, and the music is always great. Getting the perfect haircut here is an experience I look forward to, not just a haircut.

Very shoddy haircut — didnt pay attention to my natural part and left me with a cowlick and tufts of hair. barber didnt even greet me or ask me what i wanted, just pointed at the chair. his manner was very rough and he was distracted by his phone the whole time. Not Recommended.
Great barbershop. They just got themselves a new regular. Its really tough to find an affordable, competent head shave in the city, but theyve got it. I also have pretty particular instructions for my beard that most barbers struggle with, but they handled it with ease.I was hesitant to go into a new place but it turns out theyve been in the neighborhood for a while - just a new location. Had the best haircut of my life courtesy of Johnny. As someone who’s queer and non-binary, I don’t often feel safe in barbershops. But as soon as I sat down, I felt at ease. I’ll be coming back for sure, it’s 100% worth the trip from Queens.
I got an appointment with the barber NATHAN and it was the worst cut that I’ve had got in my life. A lot of waves in the cut and the worst fade. My appointment was at 12:15 pm but when I arrive he was talking and talking while he was cutting to the last client. Finally he take me 20 min after my time booked. Then he took around 40 min fading but I had to stop it because it was terrible. Seems nice barbershop but this man is not.

I always get my haircut and beard done by Albert. He is incredible and books all my appointments when I tell him in advance so I don’t ever have to wait. He does such a great job every single time. The owner Johnny is awesome too. Great people and I would highly recommend. The music is great and the warm towel at the end is very refreshing and relaxing after a fresh cut. Great location to in Hell’s Kitchen on 51st and 9th!

I love this barbershop. The owner is beyond lovely & always greets you like family. My go to barber (for the past 8+ years) is Albert.As a man of mixed race (Im half black & white), Albert is great with the texture of my hair and always has my curls looking fresh & cute by the time I leave his chair. I started getting my haircuts at this barbershop last month. The shop is clean and well kept, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and they have serious safety measures of masks, sanitizing, and social distancing. I highly recommend it.I get my haircuts with Albert there, he is professional, talented and very friendly. I have followed him here after his last shop closed down in the pandemic. He is the best barber in the city.

So glad that at least two of the great barbers from 3 Aces, which closed abruptly due to COVID, have found chairs at Trimmed! Albert continues to be wonderful. Booking with an appointment is super easy, as is prepayment. With an appointment, Ive never had to wait at all. Safety precautions are taken and observed. I always feel great leaving the chair with a good swift haircut. Definitely recommended to all my friends in NYC, especially those coming back after being away since last spring.

I wanted to treat my cousin for a cut today and decided to bring him into Trimmed. I just want to say what an amazing atmosphere. We went with Danny because ive seen his work and its really amazing. Let me tell you that i made the right choice. This man has a passion for what he does and you can tell just from how he performs. Super cleanly , high quality, swift, quick, and precise. Best haircut my cousin ever had. I highly recommend if you come to Trimmed book your appointment with Danny. He is the best , you wont regret it. Our new go to.

Honestly there is no where else I would ever get my hair cut in Manhattan!!!! I’ve been going to Trimmed for years now and every time I leave with the freshest fade and a smile on my face. I’ve used Johnny and Elias, but I’ve never seen anything but a stellar haircut walk out of that shop. And that’s why you’ll see me here every 10 days like clockwork!!! If you are in Hk anywhere in the City, this is the place to get yourself looking right !!!!
This is a great little barbershop with a fun laid-back vibe. Danny gives some of the best cuts I’ve had ... and I’m an older guy with thinning hair. I’ve been going to Danny for the past 5 months, and his cuts never disappoint. He is very detail oriented, takes time with your look, and is consistently spot on from month to month. In addition to that, he’s just a decent and fun guy to chat with.

This is a nice barbershop with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Elias is a great barber and I’ve always been very happy with his service. Three stars because of the payment policies. You commit the payment in advance and risk paying for a service you won’t get if you show up like 3’ late or need to cancel less than an hour in advance.

I have been going to see Elias every six weeks for over a year and a half, and the guy cuts hair very well. However, I have had numerous appointments with him during that time that he has called me after I schlepped from 192nd St to say he was running 45 late because of traffic or because he was hungover or because of xyz reason. No problem, life happens, I’ve shrugged it off and rescheduled. Today I arrived at the barbershop at 10:03 AM for a 10 AM appointment to get a lecture about how I need to be on time. He’s consistently exercised poor customer service judgment, and between that and his all-too-typical misogynistic banter in a seemingly queer friendly place, I am happy to patronize any of the other hundreds of barbershops in the city for a fade or a trim.

Best barber shop Ive been to in NYC. Today I had my first haircut there with Johnny. He fixed the mess another guy in a barber shop nearby had done to my hair. Johnny does a great job with his haircuts and the place is super clean and neat. Comfortable ambience and nice people working there. Besides Johnny theres a young apprentice who seems very compromised in learning and that will surely folllow Johnnys steps and another older barber who seems nice too and saw him doing a great job with a haircut in the other chair. Will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone.

He knows what he’s doing, is timely, and gives you exactly the haircut you want. I especially love how gay friendly the place is- you never get this type of warmth and acceptance in other barbershops in the city. 5 stars hands down.
Incredibly unprofessional. Johnny cancelled my appt an hour before my time, that I made a week ago. I called and he says ‘someone took your spot, my system is acting up’. Then shouldn’t he be canceling the other guys appt? He says ‘I don’t want to deal with calls like this’. Now I’m stuck with finding a new barber hrs before an important event.
I stumbled across Trimmed on my block when Johnny opened earlier this year. Having been to a number of barbershops in Boston and NYC, Trimmed is hands down the best Ive been to. Appointments are easy to book and on time, Johnny has a genuine interest in great conversation, and before you know it hes given you an awesome haircut in 20 minutes flat. Ive been to many in Chelsea and here in Hells Kitchen and can confidently say you wont be disappointed.

I told my barber Danny that I had an appointment in 45 minutes. He visibly made an effort to cut my hair and have me out the door 40 minutes. These are the kind of things I appreciate. Great cut too. looking forward to seeing what he does when I am able to give him a longer amount of time for the cut.

Johnny has been cutting my hair for years. I lived in Hartford Connecticut in the past and would travel from Hartford to nyc just to have my haircut by this guy. He has a great spirit/vibe about him. He listen to what you have to say regarding your haircut. His barbershop is pleasant and clean! I love the ceiling wallpaper that they installed. The color of the barber chairs definitely bounce off the ceiling wallpaper. If you have doubts about coming into his barbershop, don’t! You will be in good hands.

Johnny is the best. He has been my barber for 10 years. Even though I now live out on long Island, I still drive into the city to see him. He is that good! While its true hes a really nice guy, what is most important is that I have gotten excellent haircuts from him for 10 consecutive years. While waiting, I have seen him do a wide range of haircut styles. I have also seen all of his customers with a smile of satisfaction when Johnny finishes their cut!

Trimmed HK is my favorite barber shop of all time. Johnny is extremely talented, professional and engaging. He delivers very high-end haircuts for a fraction of the price. Contrary to one or two bad actors, who posted extremely unfair reviews, Trimmed is extremely clean, sanitary and goes above and beyond CDC/City/State health/safety guidelines.

I went to trimmed right before I left on vacation last minute, I had never seen him before so I wasn’t sure what it was gonna be. I came in, I told him my usual style, said hi to his adorable puppy. He sat me down got started it turned ot great. He really made sure to go over every part and make sure it was even. What was more is I told him i’m growing out the top of my hair, most barbers have gotten this wrong and cut too much off instead of just trimming it, not Elias though. If you’re looking for someone who’s time and effort into his work is really shows, Elias is the guy. I got so many compliments on vacation
Incredibly unprofessional. I called to set up an appointment and was asked to make it online. I made my appointments online for both of my visits and was still asked to wait behind walk ins. What is the point in making an appointment if it will not be honored? And when I asked for a refund the barber implied part of the blame was on me for having made the reservation not too long before the appointment. Im sorry, I didnt realize than an open appointment slot comes with unspoken restrictions that I somehow have to be aware of. The shop has no respect for your time and I will not be returning. Unless you have an extra hour outside of the agreed upon time this barber shop is not worth your time or money.
So happy for my friend Johnny who has now opened his very own Hair Lounge/Barber shop in Hells Kitchen- TRIMMED! I have been going to him for quite some time now and have followed him through a few other barber shops but now he has gone all the way and opened one for himself! Great atmosphere and excellent service. And to top it off, they are actually open on Saturdays unlike some other local establishments. Why any barber shop would close on a Saturday is beyond me considering that that is a very popular day to get ones hair cut for weekend festivities! Good luck Johnny and I will see you again soon!

On Friday February 26, 2021, stopped by this place for the first time, to get a haircut. While I was outside scanning the QR code to make an appointment, one o the barbers came out and told me that if I needed a haircut there was a 40 minute wait. I told him that it was fine with me and asked him if I still needed to complete the booking online. He said it was not necessary and to just come back in 40 minutes. I went fo a coffee nearby just to wait and about 30 minutes later I stood outside just waiting for my turn. The guy saw me and came out to tell me he wouldn’t take me because he had just received an appointment online. I told him then why he said I didn’t need a booking and why he asked me to come back 40 minutes later ? Not only was it a waste of my time but a gross disregard and disrespect to what we had agreed earlier.Will not give my money to that business. If that’s the way you guys conduct business, Good luck.
I tried this place after 6 years of various barber shops in Hells Kitchen and will definitely make this my regular barber shop. The barber/owner Johnny is professional, personable, and attentive. For just $25, it beats the quality of other barber shops in the neighborhood. Id highly recommend.

Miguel is straight up the best barber I’ve ever. I’ve never had a barber with so much skill and a keen attention to detail. Specifically, if you’re trying to get your waves on some 360 jeezy I promise he’ll get you right. Top tier barber.
I got my haircut from some new barber at the store and what a MISTAKE I made. I don’t blame the owner for this, but wow what a terrible haircut. There was no fade in my hair and to be honest, It ruined my trip to NY as I had many events to attend. I do not blame the owner but for real, the new barber needs training. Shop is cool and clean, but very disappointed in the haircut, asked for a skin fade and got a low step cut with no fade. Just a mess. Lucky that hair grows!

I brought in pictures of hair I liked, he asked me questions to really understand what I wanted, then went to work. He rock my fine blonde hair like a pro, paying attention to all the details. Hair cut looks great and he had great chairside manner. Definitely going to see him again.
Dee is the BEST! He is not only incredibly professional, he is a barber that actually LISTENS AND CARES. His work is impeccable. He takes as long as it needs to get the cut perfect. I met him because I was recommended to a barber (the owner of a different location) and that guy stopped mid-cut and said I should see Dee because he could give me the cut I really wanted. And he fixed the BOTCH JOB! I am now a lifelong client!!
Unprofessional. I came in and got an appointment with the owner. He was all the time on his phone, doesn’t look happy or welcoming at all. Plus I paid too much for what I got, the fade was not even equal on both side and the beard shape was all messy and the lines not even straight.

Simply awesome!! so hard to find a barber that does a good job consistently, and Zonik does the best job repeatedly, he is fast, detailed and a high end barber. The barbershop designed very nice makes me feel comfortable, especially the gorgeous wallpaper love it!

February 5: Do not go to Danny. He completely hacked my hair - looks as though a 5 year old cut it - even though I have specific instructions on how I wanted it done due to prior scarring. Johnny did apologize, salvaged what he could and offered to recut my hair for free, but I am unsure if I can ever go back. This is quite literally the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten.February 26 EDIT: Review changed, as Albert is now at Trimmed. Best haircut in town! Jonny is very nice as well.

2022-08-09Best barber shop Ive been to in NYC. Today I had my first haircut there with Johnny. He fixed the mess another guy in a barber shop nearby had done to my hair. Johnny does a great job with his haircuts and the place is super clean and neat. Comfortable ambience and nice people working there. Besides Johnny theres a young apprentice who seems very compromised in learning and that will surely folllow Johnnys steps and another older barber who seems nice too and saw him doing a great job with a haircut in the other chair. Will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone.

2022-06-19Great location right in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen. The team was kind and helped me get exactly what I wanted. Music was great and environment is chill. The stylist made some great recommendations on cut and styling, paid attention to detail, and I had an overall quick and great experience. I paid about $35 for a men’s fade cut and they were only taking cash (ATM charged $2).

The cuts are considered, consistent, detailed, and theres always a great energy to the place. Albert knows me by name and how I like my hair done and its always a pleasure to stop. 2022-05-03My barber of about 30 years closed in January 2022. After looking at 3 different shops for replacement I heard good things about Trimmed. I booked appointment with Johnny. He gave me an excellent cut and made me feel welcome. After a second visit I’m convinced I’ve found the right shop for me. Johnny is a great barber.

2022-08-25As a person who is very very picky and hard to please when it comes to my haircut and beard trim. I can honestly say the guys at Trimmed makes it look easy. I’m super biased as Elias is the barber I use …he’s the GOAT. However, you can’t go wrong with Johnny or Albert, either. They’re all extremely talented. But Elias will get on the front of a magazine. All in all. I love this barbershop. It’s gonna be hard for me to find a replacement now that I am moving away from NYC much respect and love for you guys. After asking around majority of friends recommended Trimmed HK - specifically Johnny. I followed their Instagram and saw his work which led me to book an appointment. My first cut with Johnny was great, I explained the style I was going for and he absolutely killed it! Johnny gives the best fades in the city and he’s the only guy I trust with my cuts.
