My wife and I stayed here for a night. The Tru was very clean, we loved how modern the rooms are. The service wasnt bad and I was asked quite a bit how everything was. The complimentary breakfast was okay, not horrible but not great either. The location was great everything you need a few minute walk away. I would definitely stay at the Tru again.
Loved our stay here. Staff was friendly from start to finish (even helpful on the phone before we arrived). I personally loved the minimalist room as it felt easier to keep clean. No stained hotel carpet or drawers to inspect. No surprises under the bed. Clean and comfortable and innovative enough to have plenty of storage and space. Traveled with a teen and a toddler, plus toys, snacks, and lots of dance stuff. Hung out in our room and were quite comfy. Loved the lobby, breakfast, parking. Tons of USB outlets in the room, hear was easy to control, shower was great too.Convenient to lots of things. Easy in and out. Always had luggage carts at the entrance and someone to greet you at the desk. They accommodated all requests immediately. I really havent encountered this level of friendly and professional service at all lately. Management is doing a great job training hospitality staff here.No complaints.
Positive: Everything was bright and vibrant. Very clean an all the staff were wonderful Negative: The only problem that we had was that there was a childrens (14-15)team on the same floor as us and very early in the morning they all started running back an forth to each others rooms banging and slamming doors for hours the hotel gave us a free night
As mid-range hotels go, this one is pretty nice. In general, the hotel seems pretty new, and the rooms and common areas have a clean, modern appearance. Theres a nice guest laundry and a better-than-average gym. The morning breakfast spread was also surprisingly good, which inculded everything from a collection of fruit juices, conteintental items, eggs and sausage, fresh pancackes and more. The team working breakfast was quite helpful and pleasant. Front desk staff were also very accomdating regarding room requests. Avery was particularly helpful in arranging transportation to and from the airport for us, which we really, really appreciated :)The only drawback is that theres not a whole lot within walking distance (it is an airport location afterall!), but there are a handful of standard fast food and sit-down options close by.
After experiencing most of the other Hilton brands, this is one I would not return to in the future if I had a choice. The common areas are great, but the rooms remind me of a dorm... Very stark and uninviting. Nearly unusable bathroom amenity dispensers, one very uncomfortable chair, a cold bare wooden floor....
Refreshingly modern! Enjoyed the chill atmosphere. Very well thought out concept. It looks like they have smaller minimalist rooms but it has everything I look for which includes a mini refrigerator. I personally rarely if ever us drawers but for note there is no storage drawers or an actually closet, instead there is a fashionable pipe on the wall with some hangers. If you are a Hilton member and download the app you can open the door with your phone. Last but not least the breakfast spread is good. I must say the pancakes are actually very tasty! Good job Hilton on this segment of your business!
This was our first time staying at Tru as we typically stay at Hampton Inn. The hotel was very clean. I believe their targeted clientele would be millennials as it was definitely more hip and modern that most hotels. It had all the amenities as a Hampton Inn and we definitely enjoyed our brief stay.
Checked my 3 pillars for a good stay, clean, comfy bed, and good water pressure in the shower. Funky decor was fun. Keep in mind, this style is targeted at Spartan living. If you just need a room to crash at when the day is done, this property will fit the bill. If you like a place where you get to lounge around like you are in your den at home, look elsewhere. Breakfast was good. The pancake maker was finicky but the attendant was able to figure out the problem and get it rolling.
Very bright and modern, the Ikea of consumer hotels. The rooms are very basic - no coffee maker or amenities. The floors are engineered wood/tile, and obviously clean. That being said a couple of small simple area rugs wouldnt be bad. The room has several built-in wall usb chargers and an interesting work chair desk. I would consider again.
My wife and I went to Syracuse for Christmas shopping and stayed at the Tru by Hilton Hotel. It is very conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean and had a large TV screen, bed was very comfortable. Overall very satisfied, good quality made for a nice trip.
My first time at a Tru exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a cool, modern vibe, clean, comfortable rooms and common spaces, and fun, handy use of technology. There were games in the lobby plus a market for snacks and breakfast included. We didnt need to use the laundry room but it was nice it was there. The fitness center was clean and everything worked. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was functional furniture you could move to meet your needs. Bathroom was beautiful. Would definitely reccomend and stay there again.
Loved this place! Friendly staff,Clean& neat all around, comfy beds and pillows-No carpeting(best part)huge tv with lots of channel selections-enclosed shower with liquid soaps mounted on the walls!Blinds that kept light out!No hidden drawers to leave items behind!Wall thermostat that works!Beer and wine for sale at desk! Breakfast bar- hope to find more of this chain in the future!
No carpet in rooms is excellent, need microwave, a little bare, as in decor, shower head does not match beautiful shower. Staff, especially maids...were very gracious, helpful and kind, both male and female. That, above all was/is the best asset to have, smiles and help ended my stay on a great note.
I was visiting the area again on business and decided to try the Tru hotel for a change of pace...after all, seeing the reviews and photos, the Tru did NOT seem like the typical traiditional hotel. I was right! The location is perfect in an area with a bunch of other hotels including the Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn. It is right next to a 24-hour McDonalds and within walking distance to a Dollar Tree, Burger King and Little Ceasars Pizza...all of which are convenient during a hotel stay...especially if you are traveling with a family. The parking lot if on both sides of the hotel, the left and the right.Even before entering the hotel, you get a sense of the modern and minimalistic approach of this hotel. The is a small seating area (smoking maybe?!) in the front. Once you enter the hotel the lobby is bright, modern and very colorful. There are lots of modern seating surrounding the centrally-located check-in counter. There is small internet area to the right and lots of lounging seats to the right. Behind the counter is a few items (snacks/drinks) available for purchase. There is also the breakfast seating area in the back right of the counter.Check-In process was simple as the staff were all great. Very friendly and accommodating. There is a Fitness Center there with a few free weights and some treadmills/elliptical machines. There are ice makers on each floor as well. The rooms followed the decor of the rest of the hotel. Modern and minimalistic. Lovely basic designs that appeared neat and clean. No carpet...the floors were hard/tiled. There are a few pieces of furniture there. Very comfortable bed. Lots of outlets containing USB ports. The room was though missing some things that you would get in a traditional room: microwave, full sized irong board, ice bucket, full-sized desk, coffee maker... So if you are used to and need these items, you may want to look for a more traditional hotel.Room cleanings (as with most hotels during this time) are only available upon request...so no dily cleanings.I think I would stay here again for a short (overnight stay)...but I may be more comfortable in a hotel with all the bells and whistles for a longer stay.
The hotel was nice and the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good although they didnt have everything they said they did, but it was still good. The room itself left something to be desired. There was hardly anything in it. There were no pictures on the walls, no dresser, and the fridge was extremely tiny. It was 1/2 the size of a dorm fridge. It was a little square fridge. The shower was nice. This was my first time staying at a Tru, and im not sure I will stay at another especially for what I paid.
This is our first time at a Tru. We normally stay at other brands in the Hilton family. I really like that they have bulk dispensers for soap, shampoo, etc. I also appreciate that they dont have carpeting. I do think that the rooms are a bit small, but they are adequate. The A/C was a bit noisy. Overall it was a pretty good value as everything was very clean.
Great value for the price. This is the first Tru by Hilton Ive stayed at, I really like the style and, I havent stayed at a hotel in over a year, so maybe this is normal now, but it felt very minimalist. Some may not appreciate that, but I think its allowed them to provide quality in the things they do offer rather than trying to be prepared for any little thing you might need while keeping within a reasonable price point. Only thing I didnt like was that the rooms did have carpet, which made the room a bit echo-y, and there was no dresser, or any place to unpack your clothes. Overall, though, great choice for single night stays.
This hotel is GREAT!!! The design is quirky and fun. The staff is friendly and attentive. The cost is reasonable. The rooms are spacious and uncluttered. My husband and I really appreciated the clean minimalist but functional design. This hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants. Ample parking. Very quiet. Wonderful breakfast buffet.
My first stay in a Tru. Love the pared down, European vibe. Because there is no carpet, the room feels very clean. Nice staff. We used the Park and Fly option, which is cheaper than parking at the airport. If you have an early morning flight, you can get some rest, leave your car and hop on the 24 hour shuttle in the morning. We were on the 5 am shuttle and the desk attendant had already put out some breakfast items in case we wanted to grab something.
It is a copy other hotels aimed at the under 40 set. Syracuse just isnt large enough for this sort of hotel to step up its game. It was an expensive red roof inn to me. Not particularly clean for such a new building. The trendy things to do board listed the two tourist attractions Syracuse tourism office seemed to offer. I would argue the hotel staff get out and explore thier city. Come up with at least one quirky thing. The bed was nice. If were not getting carpet, at least mop the floor occasionally. Breakfast was typical low budget food.
Sheets were dirty, i had to call for new sets...bodywash dispenser was empty. The lady at the front desk brung 2 tiny soap bars to use instead. If you book here bring your own linen and cleaning supplies the rooms are nor throughly cleaned. Only reason I gave a 2 is I liked they had tiled not carpet floors.
Liked the minimalist decor if this hotel makeover. Clean and precise. My only.knock is the non opening windows. Seems counterintuitive to run ac when its in 60s overnight. Hate ac anyway. Breakfast was impressive. Fresh blueberries for cereal topper. In all my years of extensive travel (minus last year) have never had that option. Also crushed pineapple granola etc. Hot dishes were good. Pancake machine was fun and tasty. Water provided to Hilton honors members. Fun and accommodating staff. Lobby festive and inviting including Foosball and seating as well as work area. Outdoor seating appreciated since no fresh air in roo.
This hotel is super clean! Staff is friendly and for this being only a 3 star hotel.. it makes me sad. I stayed in 4 or 5 star hotels before and this one beats those hotels. Angie the cleaner did an amazing job cleaning our room. No dust particles or anything.. no dirt period. This hilton truly has the best staff and makes it clean and safe. Breakfast selection was decent... I was thinking there would just be a typical cereal because thats what other hotels are offering since covid.. not this one. They offer more than that. All in all this hotel superseded my expectations and the experience was great!
It was our first time staying at this particular hotel, our room didnt seem to have hot water for some reason, but, I spoke with the front desk and they changed our room for us! The hotel agent at the front desk was very nice and made sure that my daughter and I were very comfortable! He even gave her a discount on her drinks since it was her birthday!! Well definitely come back!!
I had a great experience staying at Tru. It was very reasonably priced, but we had great service, and everything we needed. The room was small, but well planned out, with lots of storage space, and helpful hooks on the wall for hanging all kinds of things. The beds were very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was sparkling. I like all the eco friendly ideas they have instituted, including soap, shampoo, lotion, and conditioner dispensers instead of individual small packages. I didnt get a chance to use the gym, but it looked quite nice and clean, with everything you would need to get in a good workout. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, and had lots of healthy options. The finishing touches is that they have great coffee, available 24/7! I would definitely stay here again.
I loved the hotel, and everything it’s next to and recommended this place to soooooo many people because I know tons of people coming to the area that are going to cny for ivf.. I had an amazing stay and even stayed an extra night cause the staff was so nice and I loved the hotel. I went to check out today and they do a “Togo” breakfast.. I asked Kara if I could have something and she told me no.. we were a little late past breakfast time but she could of just handed me a banana or something and I would of been perfectly happy. I work in customer service and this put a horrible taste in my mouth. I had just gotten out of surgery and asked her even twice if she could please give me something and she still wouldn’t. Unfortunately I will take my business else where with customer service like that.
We stayed one night to do the lights on the lake in Syracuse. Perfect. Simple. Clean. No rugs in room- which I LOVED. Just a big shower- no tub. Bedding was a little thin- but super comfy. Again, very clean- staff was very friendly and full breakfast! It was my husband, me, our 16 and 3 year old. We had a blast.
We arrived at the hotel and the bed sheets looked like they were used. When I pulled the blanket there was hair and the pillows had a very bad peoples smell. I went to reception and spoke with Kara who was extremely nice and helpful. However, she was alone for the night. She gave us a new room and again the pillows smelled bad. I believe because this is a new hotel housekeeping is not doing their best job. My husband and I left. I did as for a refund. Kara said since she was alone a manager would get back to me and I was going to be refunded as there were jo more rooms. I am still waiting to hear back for 3 days now. Very disappointed with Hilton.
Its a very modern, efficient hotel. I say efficient because although the rooms are on the smaller side, they make excellent use of the space and it does not feel cramped. It has a chair with an attached swiveling laptop table and a sleek rolling desk that fits under the TV stand. It is the perfect height to sit on the comfy bed and do some work. The free breakfast is well maintained and was very good. They had two waffle makers, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, oatmeal, bagels, donuts, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and juices. They have complimentary tea, hot cocoa, and coffee available 24/7.
I like how modern it is, but the rooms are smaller than most.... And theres no carpet! It might be a positive for some, but for me it was cold and uninviting. The lighting was all LED but they chose to use Daylight color instead of Warm White. It hurt our eyes and gave us headaches. The shower was VERY nice and the bathroom size was adequate. We wish it had a vent fan though. It would have helped with the smell from #2s and from making the whole hotel room humid from the showers. It would have also helped to have a bathroom door that closed completely rather than sliding door that leaves a finger gap almost all the way around. I also didnt like how at check-in, they kid (maybe 19?) just confirmed our cc and asked if 3rd floor was OK. Then he handed me the key cards and said Here you go. He didnt point tell me where the elevator was, he didnt tell me how to access the internet, he didnt ask how our trip was... All the basic things Im ways asked when checking in to other hotels. It felt more like I was getting a ticket to wait in line for a meal than checking into a hotel. That being said, its a great economy hotel. Youre not living in the lap of luxury, but definitely better than others Ive been to. The beds were comfortable and thats the important part! The breakfast spread was really good and there was plenty of it. The kids loved the waffle maker and the yogurt station! The eggs were perfect and the sausage was delicious. I definitely would have liked to see a better coffee variety and flavored creamer at the coffee station. The flavor shots were kinda blah.
We loved this hotel. One of the best we stayed at. We had three children with us, 3 yr old, 5 yr old and 10 yr old and it was great for them too. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with no carpets (which is great because it doesnt trap odors). The hotel is very modern. The lobby area had lots of comfortable seating with several board games and a foosball table which the kids loved. They also loved playing with the giant connect four game in the outdoor lounge area. Theres a small gym and a coin operated washer and dryer available to guests. Which was useful after going to Ontario Lake. The front desk even provided the detergent. We also noted that there were rooms on each floor for hearing impaired and wheel hair accessibility. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast had a good selection and staff kept up with crowd. Prices were reasonable and location was great being right off interstate exit. Will definitely stay there again.
Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The staff was super nice and helpful every time I needed anything. Room was very reasonably priced and had a nice little shop where you could purchase alcohol, snacks, or toiletries. More of a modern feel which I really appreciate, had everything you need without the stuffiness and clutter of some older hotels. The linens and pillows were extremely comfy and soft, and the temperature of the room was fully customizable which was great since sometimes the wall units do not provide enough air for my liking. Also liked the fact that it seemed more eco conscious. Overall loved my stay and as this was my first experience with this brand of Hilton, I was very impressed. Will definitely be looking for these in the future.
Night staff member gave too much push back regarding safety issue that wasn’t even her fault. Still the hotel didn’t even return my gold and silver jewels or clothes, after speaking with manager who only gave me refund for 2 of 3 nights paid for in advance. Enjoyed upscale design of hotel if not for those minor problems this review would be 5 stars.
Nice, new, modern, and very clean hotel conveniently located near the airport. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I rated it a 4 rather than a 5 because of the annoying HVAC system. It stays on constantly and does not maintain a comfortable temperature (too cool then too warm). Otherwise a nice place to stay.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my stay. The hotel is only 3 months old, so it was clean and modern. The room was small with no frills, but it was just what I needed for the night. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I would definitely stay there again if I return to the area.
Definitely different and we enjoyed our stay. Appreciated the minimalism of its set up and the details from the soap and lotion dispensers (vs bottles) to its games area. The staff was friendly and attentive. The beds were comfortable and I love the hardwood floors. Thank you Tru!
Probably a good hotel and hotel chain. Just not my choice of Hilton properties. Too minimalist for my tastes. As a long time Hilton Diamond, not my cup of tea or coffee of which the room had neither of. This was a property definitely using Covid as an excuse for poor service.
This place is amazing. Great staff and service. Love the modern and clean look. The bed was incredibly comfortable, huge TVs and soap dispensed from tubes over the sink and in the shower and hairdryer. Free breakfast was great with lots of choices. I believe people with kids would definitely love this place. I would stay here again.
Had an amazing time. I usually stay in Double Trees but Try was just as nice if not better. The staff was very friendly. Everyone was kind, courteous, and smiling which made for a very welcoming feeling. Everyone from the manager to the maintenance seemed happy to be there. The breakfast spread was amazing. There were numerous kinds of bagels & English muffins. Scrambled eggs were served and came out regularly. There was also an abundance of fresh fruit like apples, bananas, peaches, etc... They also served yogurt and hot oatmeal with a variety of toppings if you wanted. Cold cereal was available as well. Hot coffee 24/7 (several kinds of tea too). The place was spotless. Bathrooms were clean. Even the outdoor area with patio seating was well kept. They made you feel comfortable no matter where you were in the hotel. They even helped my family and I navigate our way to a concert while the NYS Fair was going on and they made it very very easy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel at home!
The hotel is clean and bright. The Brealfast choices were great. Im 55 and travel a lot. This was a personal trip. I Will gladly spend a few bucks more for some more amenities in the future...This was lacking in some of those creature comforts that we have grown accustomed to.
Average stay for a hilton. Minimalistic decor. Housekeeping was adequate. I did find that it seem to be a hang out for the front desk staff and there friends. On several occasions I saw several kids hanging out with the front desk staff. Mostly occured in the evening. Breakfast was average..eggs and sausage, or the typical continental options. Nothing spectacular. I will say for the price the accommodations were reasonable and clean.
Very nice staff. Polite friendly. Only reason why not 5 star was heat worked half the time in the room. When asked for quarters to do laundry they were out so couldnt do laundry. Rooms are clean and full ready for you. Plenty of plugs in the room to charge anything and everything. Breakfast was great. Oatmeal was cold but other then that I enjoyed my stay
The accommodations are modern and well maintained. keep in mind the hotel is very new probably less than a year old. But two issues that would not want me to return. They dont provide you soap, You have to use a squeeze bottles and they do not function very well. In addition the thermostats are horrible. You set the temperature and it jumps back and forth between air conditioning and heat all night and never shuts off. Youre not able to just set it on one or the other heat or cool.
This hotel is brand new! First time staying in a Tru by Hilton brand, I liked a lot of the features. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed extra sheets. The room was clean and had some new things I have yet to see in a hotel. I actually loved that there was no carpet! The bathroom was spacious and the room was well thought out in terms of soace, placement of furniture and spaces for suitcases. Lots of area to put your suitcases on and lots of outlets! Mini fridge is great! I loved the lemon scented handsoap and body soap, totally makes me smile:) Beds were comfortable and actually plenty of space for my family! The lobby and outdoor front space had lot of space to lounge about in traditional and not traditional seating options. Had fun games for kids of all ages! The breakfast was average...it wasnt bad but yet wasnt great either. They also had options where you could purchase beverages or snacks all day. Oh and I absolutely loved the water bottle fountain, you know those ones where it fills your water bottle up by sensorsuper fast...I have seen these at airports and other places...this is such a great asset!! When your traveling, you need to fill up water bottles and when you have a family and lots of water bottles this is just perfect! Every hotel should have this! Over all a great impression for this brand of hotel!
Walking into the room one is reminded of the contemporary Scandinavian influence, modern furniture, no carpet, and minimalist attitude of the room. Clean, roomy and very comfortable probably best describes these rooms. Only two drawbacks that we encountered, no in-room coffee (although being on the first floor the coffee was just a short walk away) and secondly, the lighting is controlled by one master switch which if you partner is still sleeping and you are working could cause a problem with awakening them.
UPDATE: Ive updated this review to add an additional star. After my complaints finally reached a manager, she immediately reached out to. She assured me that they will do their best to address their shortfalls. I would consider giving them another chance for a short stay in Syracuse.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Let me start of saying that I think this hotel would be fine for quick one night stay, but nothing more. Unfortunately, I spend four nights here and each day got progressively worse. Im a Hilton Diamond member (also Marriott Gold and iPrefer elite) and spend well over 150 nights at a hotel and have for the last 10 years. I would rate my stay here among the top 5 worst stays at a hotel of all time.Today is my final day of the stay at this hotel as I write this and I had no body wash for my shower this morning. Housekeeping came through yesterday and didnt refill any of the dispensers (this was the last straw on what was already a terrible stay). This is completely unacceptable. If the hotel chooses to only have dispensers in the bathroom, its vital to keep them topped off. Otherwise, at least offer a soap bar for the shower so folks dont end up with nothing to wash themselves with (I made do with the little remaining hand soap).Beyond that there are many, many other ares where this hotel is lacking. Lets start from breakfast. The breakfast is very limited. And, some of their offerings were horrid. They offer a Harvest muffin thats awful. It would make sense to offer blueberry or chocolate chip which many more people would like or, better yet, some choice. The only hot offering they had during my stay was scrambled eggs. So, if youre like me, and dont like scrambled eggs, tough luck. The juices were frequently empty. There was no orange juice on multiple days of my stay.Moving from breakfast on to the rooms. The room was ok. It would have been nice to have a proper side table, as opposed to the one they offer, and the bed was way firmer than I found comfortable. Again, would be fine for one night, but not four. The room was probably the most ok part of my stay.I ended up at this hotel as it was move-in week at Syracuse University and I didnt have much choice (most hotels were sold out). I would not choose to stay here again based on my experience at this hotel.
2nd time in a row I’ve had a bad experience here. First of all, the hotel reeks of marijuana. Sheets had stains on them and after complaining before heading out for dinner, they were never changed when we returned and they just left a bag with sheets outside of the door. I guess guests have to make their own beds here.
New hotel. Clean, relatively nice. Interesting lobby with games available. Room was nice. Its definitely intentionally sparse decorating. Functional, minimalist, but worked just fine. We didnt mind it, but if you wont like that style, be aware. Convenient airport shuttle.
Clean and no frills. Beds were comfortable. It feels a little like a dorm room with the lack of carpet, but I liked it. I love the shampoo dispensers rather than the little bottles. So much less waste and I dont feel like I need to take the leftover home so it doesnt get pitched! And it was quiet. I actually slept!
I absolutely loved this hotel!! Very clean, and up to date. Loved that there was no carpet. I dont travel often and was my first time to NY. I will be looking for this hotel around if I do. I would like to add that customer service was outstanding with an issue we ran into and took care of it immediately. Thank you to all the staff and management for having such great hospitality and customer service. I wish all hotels were this way.
Loved it! We were heading home from a trip to the states and wanted somewhere to crash the night. We actually booked this by error on the rewards app but was pleasantly surprised! Its right by the highway and its beautifully designed. Complementary breakfast also had a lot of options. Definitely recommend!
This place was very nice and clean, breakfast was free and good, so was wifi. Very comfortable beds, the only thing I can say is the fan/ heat was a little tricky working, but overall I would definitely recommend this place, no pool ☹ but very close to the destiny USA mall, like 3min drive.
My wife, 5 year old son and I recently stayed at the Tru Hilton Liverpool New York location. The stay was excellent. Breakfast was on point and so was the outstanding customer service. I would also like to give a shout-out to Angela who is the overnight customer service rep at the hotel, she gets 5 stars too, as she was very friendly and anything we needed she was always available to help. 100 percent we will be going back to the Tru Hilton Liverpool location in the very near future.
I don’t normally write reviews but I had to for this hotel. It has exceeded my expectations. I was supposed to stay 2 nights and go to another hotel but I liked this hotel so much I extended my stay and cancelled at the other hotel. The location is awesome. McDonald’s, little Caesars, Denny’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, and a nice little diner is within walking distance. The mall is about 10mins away. The hotel is clean and my room was very clean and big. I have the king room. Bathroom is very nice and water is hot. The lady at the front desk(I don’t know her name) was very helpful and allowed me to check-in at 1130 rather than sit and wait until 3pm. The hotel was built in 2018 so everything is basically new. Breakfast is nice with a waffle maker. It’s not noisy or anything here. This is my first time in Syracuse so this hotel makes it easy for me. The lobby is awesome and spacious. There are numerous areas where you can sit and hang out or just do work or surf on your computer. I have no problem getting Lyft or Uber here and it’s close to the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is the second time I have stayed in a TRU by Hilton. They have very clean vibrant rooms. Beds are really soft and they have 55 inch TVs!! My only complaint with this one is the front desk employees at check in and check out. Check in, she was too worried and going back to finish her McDonalds and chatting with her friend sitting at the table by the door. Check out, he just seemed to be in a hurry to get rid of me. Didnt ask how the stay was, just told me the receipt was going to my email.
The first room we was giving not clean, however, once we let the staff know it was fixed. Our room was changed and was perfect. The staff was all nice and helpful regardless of the request or when. Next time in town this will be my hotel of choice. Highly recommended
It’s clean, but the soundproofing is poor. You can hear sounds very clearly from other people down the hall, and sounds from the room above. The smell of marijuana lingered into our room between 10pm-12am, and there was some guy shouting profanities in another room that could be heard. The sounds of loud cars going by frequently also made it difficult to sleep throughout the night.
EYE liked the lobby; fuse ball table. The breakfast bar included diy waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, carbs, chicken sausage, eggs, juices, coffee. The workout facility has two treadmill and one elliptical machines, a few balls, ropes, and a few dumbbells. Staff is friendly and helpfulThe rooms have large, comfortable beds, 50”tv, above average sized showers, several hooks for hangars, no closet, no family or two person style table, an Art Deco type of rack over the heater that will seat 2-3 pieces of luggage. Dunking donuts is next door and Tully’s is next to that. Both are in walking distance.EYE liked the room. Eye thought it was personable. My wife also. the problem we had was with the heater/air conditioning unit. It did run 24/7 which made the room either too hot or cold as often as it was the proper temperature. And it also meant dehydration. Our skin was noticeably dry. And in spite of the beds being comfortable, it was difficult to sleep because of the fluctuation in temp. If not for the heating and cooling issue, I’d rate 5*
For the price that I paid for my stay, I could not be much happier. The only two things that I found to be disappointing is that there was no couch or cushioned chair in the king room, there was just the bed and a plastic desk chair. The second thing was that my bathroom door did not lock. It took away a lot of the privacy that would normally come with the room.
I had a great night sleep.clean room.very nice. The only thing was missing was great hospitality in breakfast area and having clean tables.there were several tables not clean and not alot of food.I need to say the lady that shuttled me to the airport was awesome, and has that great hospitality. She also work in laundry.they need to learn from her.tha is so much.ill ve back.
Terrible. I called the day before to request a room with a hot tub/jacuzzi for my husbands birthday and was told more then once by the staff member who answered the phone that the room had a hot tub. I drove 2 hours to get there only to find out they didnt have hot tubs at all. I was very upset because I called to verify before traveling. When I arrived I paid and was sent to three different rooms. Every time I came back down and asked why there was no hot tub in the room and they told me they didnt know which rooms had the hot tubs and which ones didnt. On the third attempt she called her manager to verify which rooms had hot tubs. I was assured the third room had it because the manager went and checked herself. Upon entering the third room we found a bath tub. I dont understand how they can make the mistake between hot tub/jacuzzi and bath tub. At no point did I ever rearequ a bath tub. Finally after a third time another worker said we dont have anthanytlike that here. The purpose of calling ahead is to verify the room will have what I wanted. On top of that I paid with a credit card so when they gave me my money back I still was going to have to wait for the charge to drop off. His birthday was ruined because that was the only money I had. Not enough left on their for another room. The staff offered no apologies of any kind for the misunderstanding. We were extremely upset to have drove two hours just to end up back at home and broke on his birthday. I cant believe that they even told me they offered that and didnt have it. I would never spend my money with them again. EVER I wouldnt recommend any one else to eaither.
As a Hilton Member I was really excited about this new Hilton Brand. However, I was disappointed, it is basically a more hip version of a Hamton Inn. I was even more disappointed that the night auditor that checked me in didnt welcome me to the hotel and share info about the Tru Brand, for a new brand in the Hilton family, I didnt learn anything about it. The hotel was very clean and if you are on a budget this is a great spot for you. If you are a hotelier and travel a lot like me, you may not be thrill with the basic-ness of this hotel... overall the experience was not bad, but I had higher expectations and that should explain my rating.
I tried to change my reservation from a Thursday to the following Tuesday. I was charged but when I tried to change my reservation on Thursday no response but they are quick to charge you. I never tried a Hilton establishment before and after this I doubt I ever will. Rude!
Wow. Just pulled into to the hotel after a rough day of travel and a delay at the Syracuse Hotel. The front desk person informs my husband she has plenty of rooms but cant give us one because her computer is doing an end of the month thing. Never in my life have I been turned away from a hotel with rooms available - let alone a hilton! Wont be back!

2022-06-23This is an unexpectedly great hotel. It’s not luxury by any means but it’s exactly what you need. The bed is comfortable, the outlets are easy to reach, there’s a mobile table in the room and a chair with a desk. An airport shuttle driven by really nice people (both to and from the airport!) complements an exceptionally friendly and helpful front desk team. Would absolutely stay here again. Found myself thinking several times “it’s like someone figured out what to put in a hotel room!”.

2022-03-19I ended up here on a Delta voucher after my flight was cancelled. The staff was friendly and check in with the voucher was fast and easy, the room was incredibly clean (pretty sparse but quite comfortable bed), and importantly had a blackout shade. Each bed had like 6 full sized pillows and the room had 4 of every size of towel. The shuttle was perfectly on time and the driver was great. Only complaint was the water pressure and lemon Pledge scented soap but really not a big deal since I bring my own.

2022-02-25The hotel was clean and nice. I just made a 14 hour trip to see my daughter on her birthday. I needed a shower. While showering there was no body soap at all. Thank god I brought my own. I informed the front desk and asked for more towels. I figured perfect timing so they could restock the bathroom and clean. When I returned the towels I asked for were left outside of the door in the bag and still no soap! They didn’t even come in! Staying in a hotel is expensive but I didn’t know I had to do my own housekeeping that someone else gets paid to do. I became a Hilton member because I loved staying in Hilton hotels. This was just terrible. On top of that I was charged twice with no warning! Never again!

2022-01-11This place is clean, simple, has continental breakfast with hot eggs and sausages! It was opened in 2018, then Covid came, so the facility is pretty much brand new. Helpful and friendly staff, location is great! When you book, call the hotel directly - our price was $90 per night (with CNY Syracuse - fertility clinic discount)Bring your favorite book to read, no cable since this is a budget hotel. Really help you to get away with minimum distraction if you choose not to be distracted 🙂

2022-01-19The equivalent of a corporation giving a pizza party instead of a raise. This hotel misses the mark, it looks like an old red roof inn was painted over and they called it “millennial” because of what a marketing team thinks people who are now entering middle age want. Sleep was terrible - the bed was worn, blankets (if you can even call them that, more like three sheets) were cold all night and kept waking me up because of this, the heat when I had it on was so loud every time it would click on that I would be woken up also. I’m not usually one to leave reviews on hotels, but as a traveler, I honestly would’ve been better off sleeping in my car because the sleep quality would’ve been the same and I’d still have my 125$. Oh, and they have squeezable soap likes vending machine just when you thought it couldn’t get any cheaper. Utter trash. I have no idea how this got so many 10 star ratings from consumers online, as soon as I walked in I checked everywhere for cleanliness and bed bugs because that was the vibe this 1980s 2 star motel gives when you walk in. Do yourself a favor, pay 20$ more and stay at the Marriott downtown.

2022-05-19Found myself at this hotel very late at night after a cancelled flight. Hotel is very neat…was quiet and needed for exactly what I wanted- few hours of sleep. Not a luxury or fancy hotel. Front desk staff, Andrew was very professional, polite and made sure I had something to eat and drink. Highly recommend in Syracuse, NY

2022-05-11This is stupid. Itsmodern as in it offers free coffee and tea in the lobby. The rooms? Modern = bed + shower + TV. Its basically a hostel without roommates. No desk, chair, couch, tables. Its this same price as a modern hotel but has none of the perks. 3 star cause it was clean and desk agent was friendly.

2022-03-04Impeccably clean, minimalistic rooms, accommodating staff. Angie is one of the best housekeeping staff I have ever experienced, her card has been in every room Ive stayed in and each time the room was spotless and you could just smell the cleanliness (not overwhelming though)

2022-06-07This hotel is perfect for an overnight stay. The price is reasonable, it’s clean, you’re told up-front there is no housekeeping unless it’s requested, they have free breakfast, working WiFi, friendly front desk. It’s not very close to shopping or much to do, but like I mentioned, if it’s for an overnight stay to sleep and do some work, it’s perfect .

2022-03-24If, there was a rating higher than 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I would give this hotel 10🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The beds were so comfortable I slept so well that when I woke up, I almost forgot where I was and thought I was at home in my super comfy king-sized bed! Breakfast was delicious, my children really enjoyed it! And BIG thanks to our housekeeper Yolanda for making us feel so welcomed!
