I had a really great experience at Tru on Park! My hair was done by Taryn, and she treated me very professionally and respectfully. The atmosphere of the salon is very friendly and welcoming - pop music playing and friendly staff constantly interacting with each other and their clients. They make sure you feel comfortable, and I think thats a huge plus.If you get your hair colored, while you wait for your hair to develop you get to sit in a comfy room stocked with drinks, tea, and coffee and some phone chargers.My hair turned out better than I could have imagined too. Id definitely go back!
Went here for the first time today and had Miranda cut and style my hair. She was amazing and very knowledgeable with everything. She knew exactly what to use on my hair for my hair type- I feel like she knew my hair better than I do. It’s a rainy and humid day, but somehow I still have no frizz!

Ive gotten my hair cut by Gordon twice now and both times he was friendly, professional and did a fantastic job. He really listens to what you want but also provides helpful, constructive feedback to help you get the best look. The haircuts are amazing quality and I always leave the salon feeling amazing.
I wish I’d discovered this place a long time ago, instead of two weeks before I moved to NYC. I literally come back to Rochester just to have Kenna do my hair every few months. I would never trust anyone else to do my hair. The salon is the sweetest, kindest place, and really make you feel welcome. They also don’t have the “fake niceness” that a lot of salons seem to have, which is really nice. I refuse to go anywhere else!
Yesterday I got my first cut in ages from Lizzy. She did such a great job on my hair, listened to my requests, and took her time to make sure I walked out with what I wanted. Her patience, skill, and professionalism were so appreciated. Looking forward to my next appointment!
My baby got her hair cut here a week-ish ago. She loves it and so do I. The stylist was so sweet with her, even tho my daughter is super shy, she really worked hard to make conversation with her and it was super appreciated. She even braided her hair after. Loved the service and the stylist.
I went in for my first appointment & I did NOT leave disappointed! My hair turned out better than could have I imagined!! I’ve literally gotten so many compliments on it! Lizzy did such an amazing job with both my cut and highlights!! — aside from my hair.. the staff is great, super friendly, and the atmosphere is really fun and trendy! I will absolutely be going back! Also, I bought the Nutriplenish condition and I am obsessed! It’s so kind to your hair!

I went to Tru on Park back in November when my hair was in disarray from a previous salons work. I met with Gordon and he went through a comprehensive plan of how we would get me the hair that I desired. I came back a few weeks later and within one session he completely transformed my orange, dull balayaged hair, into ashy blonde perfection. Every time I go to him, it just gets better and better. Gordon is so kind, talented and truly listens to what I want. Salon staff is pleasant as well. Would totally recommend them to anyone looking for top notch, professional hair services.
Gordon the senior stylist at TRU on Park Ave. did an outstanding job cutting my hair and was incredibly personable making for the perfect hair cutting experience. I will not think twice when I need another cut or choose to have this excellent cut maintained.
This past Sunday I came in for the first time and had Miranda cut my hair. She was absolutely phenomenal! I hadnt done anything with my hair for so long and every suggestion was spot on. My hair feels so much healthier now and I feel so much more confident with a new regiment. Cant wait to go back!

I lost touch with my stylists many years ago. Since then I have been very weary with letting anyone cut my hair to the point where I’ve only been getting my haircut every 1-2 years. I finally decided that it was time to find a new stylist so I started doing some research. Tru on Park was highly rated so I decided to try it for myself. I’m glad that I did! I saw Kenna and she gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years. She was great! I already have another appointment booked with her.
As a salon in Rochester, Trü really stands a cut above the rest. Professional, detail oriented, and friendly staff greet you right as you walk in. The stylists know exactly what they are doing and give a personal touch to everything that they do, making each visit an experience in and of its own. As far as men’s cuts go, Gabby, Taryn, and Miranda really know how to make a crisp and clean cut happen. The owner even doubled as a stylist, which is a really nice touch to see as well. Trü is easily the best Salon in Rochester.

OVERPRICED AND BAD SERVICE!The owner Rachel was 30 minutes late past my appointment time and gave no apologies or acknowledgement for being so late.She cut my hair much shorter than I asked for. She also wasn’t watching when blow drying my hair, allowing the hot air to go directly into my eyes.The cape came undone and she kept blowing hair down my back after I asked her to fix the cape. I fixed the cape myself after asking her 3 minutes before to fix it. This whole experience cost me $62!!!After viewing this comment, the salon called and refunded me. They also asked me to remove my review.

Ive been to a lot of hairdressers and shes the first one that has ever taken the time to explain things to me and help me make decisions. She was extremely excited about doing her job, which was a great characteristic. Im excited to go back :)
Nice people, bad business. First visit was an extremely bad hair cut. Second I sat for 45 minutes after my appointment time. I left not wanting my cut to be rushed since I have a great deal of curly, coarse thick hair.They did call and offer me a half price haircut. That I turned down.My daughter has gone there and has said she usually waits over half an hour with an appointment. Her stylist left , so she no longer goes there either.Like I said, the staff are very nice.
Buyer BEWARE. EXPENSIVE! And when they make a mistake, YOU PAY FOR IT! I had a bad experience here twice. My first stylist from this salon left and I switched to Colleen. Colleen did an amazing job cutting my hair. I was seeing her consistently and was always happy. I decided to dye my hair for the first time last year with her and made an appointment for a cut and color. I asked her about doing a temporary dye that would wash out after a few weeks because I was so nervous about changing from my natural color. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she dyed my hair. It was SO incredibly dark that I took a shower that night. I ended up making an appt for a month later for a color touch up and at that appointment I expressed how unhappy I was with the color, that it wasnt lightening up or washing out much at all and that I desperately needed to change it. Colleen was very nice about it and we talked about what we could do to fix it. She did all that she could to fix my disaster and charged me over $300 for it! I was charged for highlights and blending and a color change and a $44 haircut (which i never asked for because my hair was just cut 4 week prior...) As I stood at the check out desk asking about each charge, I was getting stared at by everyone in the waiting room and the staff. I havent gone back since. I tipped her appropriately for the appointment and they even OVER CHARGED ME FOR THE TIP! THEY TOOK AND EXTRA $5. It was just the icing on the cake. My hair was ruined and I feel like I was ripped off completely. When I spoke to the staff about my concerns I was disregarded and felt like they did not care. Even though these stylists are really talented and know what they are doing I am never going back.
Laura gave me beautiful bangs and I am so happy with my new cut and style. Ive gotten a lot of compliments on it, and Ive been able to easily style my bangs each day and keep them looking nice, thanks to Laura explaining as she went how she shaped them, blow dried and brushed the hair to make it look smooth and the right shape. I would definitely go here again.
I got a balayage done here for the first time in the spring, and I was definitely in need of the salon-style relaxation! I had a great experience with my stylist, and told her that I didnt want anything too bleachy or contrasting with my brunette hair. She definitely heard me and did as I said, but I also left the salon wishing there was a bit more of a difference - enough that people would notice that I went. Expect to pay a good portion, but you will be getting quality care!
Wonderful and professional! They have excellent services to choose from and the products are AMAZING. Would never go anywhere else! My hair always looks stunning, and lasts until my next appointment! I love that they help me learn the best way to blow dry and style my hair with the products so I can always look like I just came from the salon!
Tru Salon is wonderful. Ive been seeing Rachel for fifteen years, and not only is she an excellent stylist, but she and her team make each guest feel like theyve been coming for years. The environment is the perfect balance of *relaxation zen* that you would expect from an aveda salon, but the buzz of happy customers and stylists is energizing at the same time. Rachel really listens to what I want and makes sure that Im happy when I leave. And I always get a ton of compliments on my hair! Love this place and I wish I could go every day!
Im picky when it comes to who cuts my hair because Ive had really bad experiences with hairdressers. I decided to try Tru On Park because of the good reviews online. My appointment was on a very busy day and the shop was bustling. My appointment was brief and to the point; which I didnt mind at all. Taryn did a great job with my hair and I really liked the results. Ive received so many complements and queries about where I got it done. I would go again.
I went to Tru for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. The stylists are very welcoming. I recommend seeing Taryn, she gave me a great shoulder length cut with layers. Taryn does a nice job with color too. Thanks so much.

The salon is beautiful, bright, and clean. I was immediately greeted with a smile, offered a drink, and had someone take my bulky winter coat out of my hands. This was my first visit and within the first 5 minutes the ladies at Tru left a warm and welcoming impression on me. Katie was my stylist and she did an amazing job from the scalp massage (with blue oil that smelled amazing) to the cut, and the style! She chatted with me the whole time making me feel like a long time client already. After my cut I was eager to book a follow up appointment for a conditioning treatment. I think I have found my new salon! Thank you!
I scheduled a haircut with Tru Salon on Park Ave. on a whim and Im so glad I did! They take walk-ins, but I figured I should still call that day to see what was available. They were able to get me in that day. I was greeted immediately by friendly stylists - one of which was Colleen who would be doing my cut that day. Colleen was awesome and gave me exactly the cut that I wanted! The products that they use are amazing - so good for your hair - and I got a complimentary scalp massage before the cut which was so nice. I highly recommend this salon! Loved it there!
Lovely salon with even more lovely people. I loved every moment working with my hairdresser and my hair looked so. good. when I left.The price was spot on and straightforward. It was definitely a luxery experience for a very reasonable price.Parking is street parking which can be a struggle for Park Ave. But it wouldnt deter me from booking again.
I always see Kenna and she’s amazing!!!! I can’t say enough good things not just about her but everyone there!!! I threw her for a loop this morning and change the whole plan and not only did she roll with it but the other stylists jumped into help because it took an extra two hours more!!! My hair looks amazing!!! She colored it with highlights. It’s so red I love it!!!

UPDATE:They called me to redo the color to what I gladly accepted because I really likes Trü and I did wanted to go back in the future. Keena was my stylist this time, she cut my hair before and I knew she is amazing. She is a color specialists and she did a great job on fixing it! All the staff as always very friendly and nice. I left very happy so overall another great experience and I will be coming back in the future. Thank you!
I love Tru Salon on Park! Katie does my hair and shes amazing. Rachel does my husbands hair and he will not let anyone else touch his hair at this point because she is the master!! I absolutely love the atmosphere at Tru and you cant beat the quality, you always know that youll be beyond satisfied with whatever service you get here. Cant wait to go back for a trim!
I have gone to many different stylists with a very specific color in mind. I met with Maggie Englert and she was the only person who really understood what I was looking for. She worked hard and meticulously to achieve the look I wanted. She was friendly and her attention to detail was appreciated. Due to my demands, she had to work longer on me then she thought and for “my” extra time the salon offered me a protein treatment. They treated me well and I love my color when I left! Definitely sticking with Maggie in the future!
After my first visit to Tru, I realized I will never go anywhere else! All amazingly talented and wonderful people work here, and Lauren, my colorist, was able to provide for me the color I had tried to describe to many for years! I had a haircut ( by Rachel) at Tru On Park yesterday. Just last week, I had a haircut at somewhere else. But I did not like the haircut. This was very first haircut at this hair salon. Everybody loves my hair even my friends in DC area !!! Rachels haircut is amazing and very stylish. Now I am back to Mosaic District in northern VA. Have been coming here for years and during this pandemic I’ve been hesitant to go back out, but TRU on Park was professional, safe, clean and not overly crowded. Kenna did an amazing cut and color as usual and it was so nice to get back to normal and feel beautiful, thanks to everyone at TRU on Park!

This is showing up as my husband but, we both go to Tru Salon so that works! My hair stylist is Rachel and Phils is Kate. We always walk in to smiling faces and a clean salon and leave with hair that makes us feel amazing! Always the best part of my day when I go to Tru Salon!
I am absolutely blown away by this Kmax treatment.To start My hair was very curly, frizzy...unruly. I had to spend a good 45 minutes to an hour just to blow dry and style it. I now can do this in 20 minutes!In the past I have had conditioning treatments, Brazilian blowouts, keratin treatments, etc....this was by far the best experience My hair is silky and so much healthier. The Kmax treatment preserved my color.The down time was minimal and I was able to show off my hair the next day. No tears from the process, just tears of joy!
The do a nice job but not consistant on pricing. I have hair extensions and in my initial consultation they told me each time for a color retouch and readjustment to move my extensions up would be $400, when I called to schedule my services expecting 400 she actually quoted me under $400. After my appt, at checkout she just charged me $518. I understand that it depends on the stylist but I was quoted with them already knowing who my stylist was.UPDATE: I was contacted by the salon to correct an additional charge. Salon made a great attempt to repair the problem quickly and was very professional in their follow-up.
Miranda gave me a great hair cut! She was very knowledgeable about which style was good for my face shape and how to work with my natural wave.
I have been going to Tru on Park for about 8 months I really like Rachel she is experinced, pays attention to details. I receive the same treatment every time. Rachel gives a scaple message before shampooing that is very relaxing. Atmosphere is friendly, clean and hip.
I highly recommend Rachel. She is a master stylist. You will always be asked if youd like coffee or tea when checking in and if you have coat it will be hung up for you. I always felt pampered even if I was there for just a cut. Because this is an Aveda salon you will be paying a bit more but the products are worth it.
Such a great manicure experience! They picked the color based on condition of my nails and the work I do. It totally worked. Lasted a long time and was perfect since I cannot always keep up on my nails. Showed no chipping. Cant wait to do another mani and martini night
Made a mistake of going to Tru on Park when my regular stylist was not available.The worst haircut and color I have ever received. Maggie Englert was my stylist.Color way darker than I asked. She pulled my hair every direction as she was applying color hurting me.When asked not to pull my hair she apologized but continued doing it.I decided to go to Tru on Park based on google reviews as well as the fact that for $170 cut and color they should know what they are doing. I was wrong. I needed a color and style as I was going to an event that evening. I showed the stylist a picture of my hair curled by another stylist and explained that’s what I wanted.She couldn’t even do that. I left with a few random three waves instead of curles and dirty hair due to the amount of hair spray she applied. Even worse I don’t think the stylist has any idea of her poor work as I found picture of my haircut posted on her Instagram...I will give the salon a credit for contacting me and offering to come back to redo the color and cut after I left a review on their internal survey email. I don’t want to take another chance and go to a Tru on Park. I also believe for $170 I shouldn’t need to come back twice and redo color and cut.I wish I knew before I wasted so much money on the worst haircut and color.Update: Wow! I am shocked to see that salon is upset that I left a Google review. Yes, salon management reached out and offered to come back. I chose not to go back to the salon and get it done at my regular stylist.That does not change the fact that a stylist at Tru on Park did a terrible job.Just the fact the salon reached out to me doesn’t mean I will not share what happened.Now I just wonder how many more clients there are that were threatened to do not leave a Google review
I got a great cut for a decent price. I have curly hair and Maggie did one hell of a good job. Great location on Park avenue; perfect for a walk afterwards to show off your new haircut.
What do I love about going to Tru Salon?--EVERYTHING!! From the greeting I receive when I walk through the door, to the pampering and first rate service I receive from Gabby, and all the little details in between. When Im at Tru Salon, I am treated as if I am the most important person in the world! This level of customer service is rare,and I appreciate all you do, and all you give to those of us who are fortunate to be your guests!
I love this salon! The staff is lovely and I love the Aveda products! I go to Maggie and she helps me achieve the perfect cool blonde hair color that I love. I always feel comfortable and taken care of when I come here to get my hair done!
The staff is so welcoming and accommodating. its a simple, comfortable and elegant space. Everything about Tru Salon makes you want to come back again. Ive had my hair cut here and a pedicure. Both a success. I like being welcomed to coffee or tea, I like the feel of the place and the location is great. I also get all my Aveda products here, so thats convenient.
I had very long hair the first time I went here. I was very nervous about cutting it short, however, they did an amazing job! They also donated my hair, which made me feel so great!
I started going to tru because my skilled and wonderful friend is a stylist. The more I came back to get my hair cut by my friend, the more connections I made with everyone in the salon; so returning every time felt like home. Every time I returned, if it was hair, nail or spa related, I feel welcomed and happy returning to my tru salon family :)
Colleen has cut and colored my hair for years now and I never leave dissapointed! Everyone there is always friendly and welcoming and its something i look forward to every month or two :)

Taren is an amazing colorist. She took my natural dark brown to a beautiful blonde with tons of demension. I’ve been going here ever since and leave every appointment on cloud nine. High end, attentive staff, trendy and relaxing - I highly recommend this salon.
Gordon is a top-notch stylist. He knows how to cut short hair and make it your own style whether you want edgy or traditional. If you have short hair, Gordon is your guy.

Great place! As a blond, i have thin and fine hair. I am picky about where i get it done because i have had my hair fried! They didn’t a great job with my highlights and toner, and my hair is still growing and healthy!

Hair cut was ok, however I was shocked that the price for a simple haircut for women was $55, which is ridiculously expensive, regarding they didnt even provide shampoo or blow-dry. I am not going back.
I had a great experience when I went. Later, before having a chance to return, the hairdresser I worked with dressed up as a battered woman for halloween. This is no fault of TruSalon, however, I will never go back. She was distasteful and it was horrific.
I came to get my hair cut after needing to shave half my head for a medical procedure, the stylists were so sweet and accommodating and made me feel beautiful again.

The front desk clerk could have been friendlier. Upon arriving, the first thing she said is youre 20 minutes early in a rude tone as if I didnt know how to tell time. I said I know and I brought a book to pass the time Then after I paid, she said thank you but it was a goodbye type thank you. I said arent you going to ask me to schedule another appointment? She looked flustered and made up some excuse about that being next but I know a goodbye thank you when I hear it. I feel the scalp massage could have been much longer. Im used to a 5 minute minimum at high end places and tbh, its the best part of the experience. Other than that, I enjoyed my time.

Fantastic place. I don’t usually care about my hair that much but I legit get compliments on it after I leave here. Staff is a lot of fun. Highly recommend. A+ establishment.
Ive been going here a long time and they always get me right in when I call. ... more importantly i have always left with a perfect cut! Another huge Plus is for that area they have very easy and convenient parking. I recommend them all the time !

Extremely unprofessional - they don’t pick up when they’re busy (hire a host!) and have not returned a phone call after a week. They may be able to cut hair but be cautious if you value customer service.
Great location. Knowledgeable staff. Prompt service. Everyone knows who you are even if they arent your specific stylist. Excellent choice for the discerning customer.
Not a fan. They left me at the counter for 10 minutes when I first arrived. Employees were walking right by me and no one said a thing. They also dont have a room to do waxes. I just leaned back on the hair washing station (not comfortable). They just didnt seem to care and hardly made conversation.
Tru On Park did a great job with the reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown. Felt like absolute luxury and felt safe the whole time.

2021-09-24I literally lost all hope with my hair after going blonde with my previous hair stylist at another salon. I made the decision to visit Tru on Park after some MUCH needed damage control. I was blessed to have Gordon come to the rescue! In my first visit ever with him, I left beaming. I came back a second time to request bangs and he just completely transformed me & my confidence. And just a few days ago I came back once more for some color touch-up and he just blew me away. He understood the assignment: fall vibes and healthier hair! You have no idea how many compliments I have been getting about my hair and how it was made for me. I owe it all to him! I have also been getting botanical hair treatment each visit and that has been doing wonders for my hair. Overall I am so over-the-moon happy to have met Gordon and to have him as my stylist. I figured everyone should know about how satisfied I am! I have finally found a salon I can trust. I’m giving some before and after pictures just to show how horrible my hair was before I first met him this August, compared to now. I am just so happy! Thank you, Gordon!

2022-06-27Miranda was wonderful and explained everything about the coloring techniques she recommended. She also listened when I expressed what I wanted in my cut. I am happy overall with my experience at Tru and am loving my new hair cut and color more every day. My curly hair really needed air drying to be its best and Im very happy with it!

2022-04-29I saw Lisa in April of 2022 for my first time to the salon. When I called to find the best stylist for me, the woman who answered the phone was dynamic in asking me so many questions; I felt taken care of immediately. When I arrived for my appointment it was lovely and quiet - with just me and Lisa on the floor. Lisa is a PROFESSIONAL. She knows SO MUCH and I felt very confident she was hearing me and was going to give me a great cut and color! To top it off, she has a fabulous personality and signing voice. :) Its been a couple weeks since my appointment and my hair looks SO GOOD. I have naturally curly hair and the color she added (highlights in two patterns) and some balayage LOOK AMAZING. She suggested a treatment that can last up to 6 weeks and I might be hooked to get that between appointments, so good. The cut is the best haircut I have gotten in 8 years. I just love it! 2022-05-21Love this place, Gabi is the best and sweet and the hair products they recommend have worked wonders for me.Very glad I went here when I started transitioning, they were super helpful and comfortable and have obviously worked with trans people before. Usually I get pretty nervous in open settings like a hair salon or barber but not nearly as much here!

2022-07-06Got a great cut from Miranda, who is as immensely talented as she is sweet and funny. Directly after my calming and thorough haircut, I was scheduling my next cut with their secretary and their in-depth scheduling system. What a great spot!
