True North Church is amazing! Pastor Bert always has a great message, in which he delivers in a way everyone can relate too. He preaches acceptance of others. The entire staff at True North is friendly and welcoming. Even the volunteers are just happy to be there. A terrific environment that welcomes everyone!
Amazing church that is built on community not rituals. Its a great place for new Christians/curious unbelievers to get knowledge and a great church for experienced Christians to connect with their sense of joy! Ive known the pastor for about 13 years and he truly cares about people and their well-being.
The place is packed because it requires no Christian discipline. People mention the free coffee and bagels more then anything else. Talked to Pastor Bert one day after services. Said he was going to set up a meeting and passed me off to Victoria, his assistant. Needless to say got the run around for months and the meeting never happened. As I said in the beginning alot of people attend because its easy. Go in , have some coffee and bagels , here a word that wont offend anyone and gone till next week. True North represents everything thats wrong with the world today, Microwave Sermons.
I was raised in a Roman Catholic church. Even went to Catholic school, so coming to a new church was a little scary. I had to get past the guilt-factor and that little voice in my head telling me I was being disloyal to my old church. If you have that voice in your head, tell yourself, Im being loyal to my God. It is the same God and he wants me to be where my heart feels full and I can worship without obligation, hesitation, or pressure. True North is that place for me. I feel much more complete ever since my friend Laura invited me to check it out. I carry the messages with me all week, often re-listening to the lessons online throughout my week. Ive never felt so close to God and Ive never been so excited to go to church. Working 6 days a week year-round I used to hate giving up time on a Sunday morning. Now? FORGET IT! Im pumped for Sunday morning and Im already looking forward to more volunteer opportunities and special events at TN. I cant speak highly enough of the warmth and kindness I feel from everyone. It is so genuine. Also, technologically TN has it goin on! The production value is excellent!!! Kudos to the tech crew. It is so cool that they provide us the opportunity to join in on streaming feeds, post videos on the website, and also podcasts of each weeks lessons. The music, the lighting, the EVERYTHING makes me so happy and fulfilled. I think Im the best version of myself when my relationship with God is solid. THANK YOU, TRUE NORTH, for being the place that propels me forward. Thank you, Laura, for inviting me. Thank you to all the Pastors, volunteers, staff, and future friends who have greeted me with such warmth. Your work is much appreciated and I am so grateful for this life-changing discovery.
Modern, Great people, sound doctrine, actually does Gods work. I thought the name was a little strange, I would drive by and think thats probably a charismatic Pentecostal church, I was wrong. I finally stepped foot in and thats when I stopped looking for church for me and my family. Pastor Bert is great, the music is great. I love the culture, environment, and the motives. I highly recommend this church.
My review is biased because this is the church my family and I attend, so with that out of the way:I grew up Catholic. We prayed at meals, prayed before bed, and read the bible from time to time when the occasion was right. So by the time I was an adult, I had Christ in my heart, and tolerance in my mind. Then I became a husband...and a father...and a provider...and before I knew it - the faith I grew up with was not sustaining me, it wasnt relevant in the craziness of life. The Catholic Mass was a language I didnt understand. I never felt the way you think you SHOULD feel when leaving church. Then we found True North. What was that like? Imagine the word of God is water. 100 years ago, if you were visiting a friend and said you were thirsty, theyd hand you a bucket with a ladle. If someone did that to you today - youd think they were crazy. True North Community Church is the bottle - the water is still the same, its just packaged in a way that makes sense today. TNCC was the bridge to understanding that my faith is not a religion, its a relationship. It was the justification that I do not do good works because I need to earn Gods love...its that God already loves me, therefore I do good works in RESPONSE to the love that is freely given. This is the place Ive spent my life looking for. Lastly, in regards to any negative reviews - those objections were written a long time ago, with many (if not all) of the concerns addressed. If youre on the fence about visiting, consider this your friendly nudge.
Not a very intimate church, very large and was not greeted or felt welcomed. The music was awesome the sermon was very 😊I moved here 5 years ago and was searching for a new church.I was excited and brought my son to a teenage service that pm.Sooo disappointed to find a movie of the earlier am service.😖
Everything is done in excellence, from the music, to the sermons, Sunday school for kids, outreaches, and more. The sermons are simple yet powerful. There is not much of a chance to meet people on Sundays, but there are many small groups to choose from where you can really connect with others during the week.
I needed to be fed spiritually and the sermon did it!Only downfall, no one greeted my son and I when we walked in the doors of the church and the woman who helped me sign my son in gave me such an attitude. I also tried letting the nursery staff know my son has ADHD (and it seemed they didnt want to listen...and you wonder why when its time for pick up...they quickly want to label your child...well, maybw take the time to listen to the parent and you will know why the child acts the way they do and hints on how to handle a situation).I wont go there again, but the sermon was what I needed for the day.
I was just told to leave this church during my nephews dedication because my 10 month old was talking during the service. I was told to keep him quiet or leave. This is unacceptable for a supposed religious organization to be this unaccepting toward families. I will never return to this place again.
This church does not have any people at the altor for prayer request at all! That is pretty sad! A Church without people to pray for you is a Spiritually dead church! Plus they dont have any community groups there every time ive ever been there you go there listen to the music they close out with the doxology Hym and then pack up and leave nobody reaches out to you everyone just quickly gets up and walks out the door and leaves not a good church!
Im not even a Christian or religious or anything like that, but this place is really awesome. Everyone there is very open and connected with each other and they dont attack certain groups of people. Honestly, the only thing they want out of people is to just listen, which is a really nice change to what most people expect out of Christians.
It was my 1st time on sun I havent been to church in years my sister has been going for 2 years Im so glad I went cause I felt the love of my brother Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father wants me to be happy and True North is my rock look forward for Sunday I share my testimony in Jesus name Amen
To casual the ministry staff dresses as if they are going to a baseball game when in authority your suppose to dress like they, did 2000 years ago at the temple but I was told they have started telling people how to get to heaven which in past they didnt so there is hope there but the sanctuary is not an auditorium a songs of praise to God are not just songs it is called praise and worship

2021-01-31I absolutely love the the Pastors here. my 27 yr. Old boys have found their way back to Christ, through the beliefs of your teachings, your motivation and ability to be real! Thank you so much Pastor Burt and Pastor Peter for believing in both my boys. For showing interest in them. For Letting them feel Gods Love for them individually. Regardless of the undeserved treatment they both experienced from their previous Home Church. They felt that after being here at True North Community Church every time they visit mom in N.Y.,the experiences they have had here have reaffirmed their faith in God our Father. Amen

2020-02-16The Holy Spirit is present here in the worship and the messages. Love the mix of people who preach easy to follow messages. It is a genuine atmosphere, very welcoming. Our son learned a lot in children’s church and could verbalize what they taught him, which was great to see. Welcoming Family environment. They even serve free bagels every service which shows a heart of generosity in this church. The new set up inside the Sanctuary is definitely better then the old set up. More open and inviting. Highly recommend checking this church out.

2020-03-14I love this place! It has amazing energy, great friendly people, a super cool kid section, they offer bagels that you can toast with butter and cream cheese and tasty coffee too! The best part is the services. It makes me feel like I went to a concert, a movie and church all wrapped up into one service. I always leave feeling emotionally and spiritually fulfilled and my mindset is set right. Plus they have an online streaming too...How cool! I highly recommend this place.

2020-01-05From the songs of worship to the message thats delivered in the sermon, this place has helped my family and I grow in so many ways. The people Ive met and the people I havent met within in the congregation are so warm and inviting. If your looking for a great place of worship this is the place. This place has given me a new found outlook on life, how to love others and glorify God in it all.

2021-01-15Just a loving and non-judgy church, as a place of worship should be. If youre curious about a church thats different from old school traditional style. If you can believe even a little bit that Jesus actually loved and accepted all sinners and no matter what weve done in our lives He forgives and still loves you, go check out True North Church.

2015-03-18This church is incredibly welcoming and loving! In response to the last review - the staff will not always be at the front of the sanctuary for prayer requests after services, because many are out in the hallway afterwards, connecting and socializing as well as praying. Many community groups are offered. You can find out more information at Guest Services in the cafe, in their bulletin or online through the churchs website.Ive been going to True North for years, and I checked out several other churches before I finally called it home. No church compares! Wonderful staff, amazing volunteers, great sermons and awesome worship music.

2019-08-19If your hearts been feeling empty lately and the things you do to make yourself happy leave you feeling bored and unfulfilled, then its time to try something new. This isnt your parents church. Far from it. The band is amazing. The Bagel and coffee / tea youll be soo thankful for! The inside of the church had no windows. Its got a disco ball. And kicking lighting. Oh, and Pastor Bert tells it like it is, not without making us laugh 5x and blushing twice! Youve leave feeling... fulfilled. Wanting more. Happy. Yup. Thats how God works. He loves you, you know!

2017-10-08Unique church. Very friendly, check in for my kids seems very secure. Lots of staff or volunteers throughout the building. The pastor is very down to earth and practical. Scriptural when I visited, he preached on The ark of the Covenant when it was captured by the Philistines. A sermon Ive never heard in my 36 years of attending many churches. I recommend this nondenominational church for anyone looking to understand God and what the Bible actual says. Non-ritualistic church. Also, great rock/contemporary worship band/music. Cutting edge stuff.
