Took my stepdaughter here for her 16th birthday to get her nose and industrial pierced. Devyn was awesome and very informative. She made her feel comfortable and worked efficiently which was important to me. The shop itself is gorgeous and unlike any other tattoo/ piercing shop I’ve been in before. Cash only & we were walk-ins. Thank you everyone at Tuff City!
Tuff City has been around over 25 years! And theres a damn good reason - they are THE spot for tattoos, graffiti and street art. Theyve taken something normally considered illegal and provided a platform for people to CREATE their art. I will be going back again for sure!!!!AND, they’re super photo/video friendly. If you want to take some great photos or videos of people doing street art, this is the place!!!!
Just wanted to give my review. This was the best experience I ever went to. First tattoo place first time at this place, these amazing people did quick service. They listen to me and my brother story and when I tell you they help make our tattoos happen they absolutely did. You guys rock. You guys are amazing. My tattoo artist a female artist really killed it. I am the happiest customer ever. I would highly recommend anyone to come here, they know what to do and help satisfy their clients and today they did that for me. Godbless you guys forreal…… I’m so lost with happiness and amazing words to say to you guys. You are all the best….Thanks to the OWNER of the place I am so happy you guys really made my journey here the best experience ever….
The guy who greeted had wonderful energy and it was him who got our business. Once we were upstairs and decided what piercing we could actually get, I must say the woman doing the piercing doesnt listen. She tried to convince us what we wanted we couldnt have only to find out she didnt have the materials to do what we wanted. Instead of her saying that, she made it seem like it was impossible to do or one of us had a deformed ear, ear lobe too small too short. The We asked for a piercing in one place she put it in another saying the space wasnt big enough how about just remove the earring, earrings are not permanent you can change them you can change the size which is what we planned on doing anyway . I really regret giving her our business but we wont return.. Or recommend.
Just never again! Very disappointed with the Female piercer.. I miss the last girl! I will definitely not go back or recommend.
This place is amazing. the store is set up like a tribute to the new york city subway graffiti artist era. when you walk in you are greeted by mock subway cars that you go inside to get your tattoos or piercings. the staff is friendly and helpful. the place is clean and comfortable.they sell graffiti culture items like hats, t-shirts posters books, as well as art supplies like markers, spray paint, and black books. the prices are reasonable. in the back outside they have a tag wall for V.I.P and legendary artists. if you live in or are visiting NYC OR the Bronx EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A GRAFFITI HEAD, YOU HAVE TO VISIT THIS PLACE AT LEAST ONCE. the outside of the store is covered with amazing murals this place is a great place to take pictures at insde and out.
My daughter wanted a Pearson and this place was Clean and staff professional and gave you nice clear information on how to take care of the Pearson. I would recommend this place.
Wonderful place, Great tattoo spot I’ve been coming here for years. I have been tatted by a few of the artist over the years and they’ve all done a great job...Today was no different, I got tatted today from an artist named “NEED” He did an amazing job he was nice, friendly, neat, clean and professional. I was very happy with the outcome of my tattoo and how he listened to what I wanted but also gave my tattoo it’s own unique look. He was a real pleasure to work with. Can’t wait to go back!
The piercer i forgot her name but she did the piercing nice and quick so i didn’t even notice she finished . She told me the proper care and I would go back there .
I have been getting my piercings done with Ariel for years, and I refuse to go to any other piercer. He makes the whole experience less frightening, because I’m always anxious. Always takes the proper precautions, very clean and most of all very gentle that you barely feel anything when getting pierced. He always lets you what can be the outcome as well as give you proper instructions on after care so that you can care for your piercing.
Got done 2 tattoos and it was a great experience im more than satisfied thanks.
I’ve been going to Tuff City for years for all of my precious and they NEVER disappoint!! My piercer Ariel is the best there is!! He’s knowledgeable, has the perfect touch and makes it least painful, takes his time to make sure you’re happy and is always available if you ever have questions or need help with after care. The place is clean, inviting and just amazing. It’s a whole vibe. I 100% recommend Ariel as your piercer!!!
I went to tuff city last week and this experience was by far unprofessional, and not what I expected. I got a tattoo done from them in beginning of last month June and that experience wasn’t that bad, could of been better. But it the front desk guy who messes up the experience by being nonchalant, sarcastic and lieing. Every tattoo I wanted to do was something too small or had to be book. I just feel it should be a sign showing how big a person can get it instead of saying we do only small tattoo but every tattoo that is small is not what they want to do. As a customer a person should said how small or big they want the tattoo on their skin. I mean it a choice not the tattoo shop choice and after all of that then I was told they not taking any one. I felt so uncomfortable and unease and it not worth being talk to like that because I can easily way curse them out and lose my character but instead I will go to another facility and recommend that facility to other people instead.
Incredible environment, incredible people, incredible prices, incredible experience! Got my industrial done by Devyn about 3 years ago and she did a great job, so I knew for my septum Id have to come back to Tuff City. Ariel did my septum today, and I couldnt be happier! Even with my deviated septum he managed to do an amazing job!

I was a walk in and immediately greeted by the gentleman in the reception area and asked about my needs. I needed a name and dates for my late son and the staff were extremely sensitive to my situation and was paired with the tattooer Paul. He was fast and gave me a good, quality tattoo. He eventually asked what happened and we engaged in small talk surrounding the situation. He comforted me with words that was well needed. Paul went beyond just doing a job to making me feel it was ok to still feel what I was feeling. I am so happy with his work and I will schedule appointments with Paul for all future work. THANK YOU PAUL AND THANK YOU TUFF CITY!!
This is hands down the best tattoo shop I have ever been to. The culture and the artistry of the shop itself ,for one, is like no other. The artists themselves and the piercers are the most kind and professional I have ever encountered. The manager with the beard is hilarious and extremely welcoming. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
I got my first tattoo done here July 23rd 2020 and the experience was overall pleasant. Starting from entering the shop, its clean and the female receptionist is nice. There was only one other person in the shop besides me so I didnt have to wait long, if you dont want to wait go in the morning. I gave the receptionist a picture of what I wanted the tattoo to look like and I paid $130 for it. It was a bit overpriced but the female tattoo artist did it in less than 30 minutes and it didnt hurt at all! I wish I had got her name but she wasnt really talkative. I would definitely go back for another one...I think Im addicted now! Lol For first timers, I can say from experience this place is it!!!
My friends and I wanted to get matching tattoos. The tattoo was about a dime size. When we got here they said it would be 120 but the guy at the desk said he’d give it to us for 110. I couldn’t believe my ears. One hundred and ten dollars for a dime size tattoo. This has to be unheard of! The ambiance is beautiful but 110 dollars is insane and this is not the first tattoo my friends and I have gotten.
Love this place! So clean and so cool! I got a nose piercing with Devyn and she was the most sweetest woman ever. She made me feel very safe and very comfortable throughout the whole process. She was also very clean and very sanitary. Love her!!!!
My sister & I went there to get tattoos in memory of my mother who just past. All I wanted was a small infinity sign that said mom I love you & they said they couldn’t write that unless it took my entire arm. For a small tattoo they could only write mom & they wanted to charge me $350 for a small tattoo. Not even that is was fir the memory of my mother did they have sympathy. I hit just what I wanted else where with mom , pop, I love you & butterflies with in my infinity sign for $130. Guess they are not that tuff after all.
Took my mother there as a birthday surprise to get her nose pierced and they were awesome. They were very clean and loved the atmosphere! Also very welcoming and kept my mom calm because she was super excited and nervous. They did a great job!!
I came in with my family today and we all got pierced by Devyn and she was fantastic. She was extremely professional and took the time out to inform us all how to properly take care of our new piercings and answered any questions we had. I felt comfortable the entire time. Thank you Devyn!!!
I’ve been to this place before and every time I go it seems like it’s under new management. The newest group to take over really don’t care about the quality of the work, they just want a fast buck. I would say go at your own risk.For me, there was a 3-hour wait, I was skipped and when I asked about being skipped. The front desk blimp made up excuses about the shop being busy and the guy he skipped me for was only getting a small tattoo. My tattoo “artist” Paul was condescending and I feel like imma have to get my tat retouched. I dread having to go back since this experience was soo unpleasant. Like I said go at your own risk. Maybe they’ll treat you better than they did me.
The tattoo artist Santiago did an amazing job. Overall the process was pretty quick. The artwork looks amazing. The atmosphere of the shop was great. Especially all the artwork around the shop and the train studios. It was an amazing experience. Santiago made sure I was comfortable and liked what he was doing. I will definitely come again for more tattoos.
Best place to go for piercings! So professional and helpful. So clean!!!! Was helped by Ariel when i needed to remove a infected septum. So quick and helpful.
My cousin and I came in not knowing if we’d actually want tattoos. This place is very welcoming and I had an amazing experience with one of the artists, Elliot. My head spinning and very nervous, Elliot did an amazing job on the tattoo and staying calm. Very recommended. Definitely coming back!

Not a tear. Had her first piercing experience here, and loved it. The staff was friendly, and made her feel right at home. Ariel, the piercer was awesome, he was very relaxed, and professional. Elliott was amazing from the moment we walked in the door. Answered all of pur questions genuinely and thoroughly. Accommodated me and my friends so that we could get the tattoo all together. Made the whole experience very fun! The tattoos were perfect and he made sure we knew how to take care of them properly. Gave us a great price. 100% recommend!
Me and my friend both got tattooed by elliott who did a great job of accommodating us. We both came in with very specific ideas of what we wanted and he did a great job of getting us what we wanted. He’s a very talented artist. The staff was also very kind and welcoming and didn’t mind explaining to us how certain tattoos work and how to care for them effectively. Overall amazing experience and we look forward to doing it again!
I like Tuff City. They’re professional & welcoming. I’ve been there for piercings as well as tattoos. I had the pleasure of working with Elliot for tattoos & I immediately knew I could trust him. He made sure I was as comfortable as possible & was super efficient. He’s creative enough to add more to you’re tattoo idea so it isn’t bland & blends colors very well. Another thing that has him stand out from other artists is that he cares about the longevity of the tattoo. He advises in colors and lines that will last yet still give you your desired look.Needless to say I’m very pleased. 😌
Tuff City Employees were amazing to me. They greeted me and tended to what I needed to get done right away. The piercer was very informational and gentle while doing the piercing. Ill definitely recommend coming here at a late hour as I did when its calm and peaceful.
Today I went into the shop with my Nephew to get my Nose and Cartilage pierced. Devyn was so informative, respectful and fast. She took the time out to answer all of mine and my nephews questions and give me some advice. I walked out with my new piercings feeling awesome. I would highly recommend coming here to get pierced. I will definitely be coming back.

Just got a mystical creature tattoo done by a new employee at Tuff City, my good friend Elliot. He put such great time, effort, and consistency that everybody needs if they want a flawless tattoo. I’m in love with it especially with the detail and the fact he gave such insightful input in placement and after care. I highly recommend him to everyone!
I had a great experience at tuff city. I came in for a septum piercing. This was my 4th time getting it done due to other places piercing me very low. I had my piercing done with Devyn, she was very patient with me and explained everything I needed to know to me. She showed care and I loved that. So awesome, I would get any other piercings done by her again. Overall, I am very happy with my septum, she pierced it in the perfect spot and it was everything I wanted. Happy customer!
I got my septum done here last time, and it was perfect. This time I went to get two nose piercings, keep in mind my nose is large, and they pierced me with a super small gauge. It could barely compensate for my nose, let alone the swelling! My piercing was sinking so far into my nose because of how small the gauge was. After a few weeks passed, I examined my piercing and I realized that my nose piercings, that were done on the SAME DAY, were pierced with TWO different sizes; the left one is bigger than the right one! This isn’t the first time they’ve used a small piercing on a big area either; my friend got a belly piercing and it was so small it sunk and they had to get it taken out. Overall, the piercing experiences are inconsistent here. They do ear piercings alright, but other piercings I can’t guarantee.Pictured below: left vs right (The same piercings since I got them)

I can’t explain how ecstatic I am with the outcome of my new tattoo done at Tuff City by the very talented Elliot Duverge. I had a very old tattoo and I regret on my hip (initials of an ex, yes I know it’s one of those young and dumb type of things) and I brought in a picture of a tattoo ( a pineapple 😇) that I had found online and Elliot added my personal vision on it and just made it come to life. He’s very focused, serious about his work and very detailed oriented. Elliot made sure the colors and location of the tattoo would compliment my skin tone and body shape. This man does not just “tattoo” people, he creates art. I highly recommend him and the shop and I will definitely be getting more work done with Elliot in the near future. Also big shout out the the shops manager “Caveman” who’s demeanor is just dope.Elliot, you are so awesome and I appreciate the art that you created and I will be proud of this piece of artwork for the rest of my life. I got my Tragus pierced today by Devyn! She was great! Im terrified of needles but she kept me calm and told me step by step what was going to be done. She was very patient with me because I kept stopping her saying wait... one more minute. But after she calmed me down and did the piercing... I saw all that panicking was for nothing! It was so quick! Painless.. I had to ask if that was it! Definitely see her when you come to get your piercing!
The young man was awesome! My 52nd birthday is next week and I always wanted my nose pierced and this is my daughters bday gift to me. I love it and thank Ariel for being gentle and nice.😁
My tattoo artist was Elliott. I have to say from the time I booked my appointment to actually sitting in the chair it was nothing but a beautiful experience. He truly seemed to care about what I wanted & why I wanted it & to me that was important in carrying my vision out. I am 💯% satisfied with the outcome & already planning my next one!! This place is amazing! My sister and I came all the way from Boston and we dragged one of our cousins to get matching piercings. We googled this place and we said, this is it!!! Everyone here is so nice and welcoming. Devyn is your girl if you want piercings. We almost missed her since we arrived when they were about to close, BUT she stayed just for us! 😊 Shes super friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely a people person. She makes you feel comfortable. Once the piercing is done, you dont feel anything! Quick and easy! Loved her stories about her race car adventures after work. Lol. Dont mess with her when shes on the road, she burns rubber! 😂

Got my nose pierced about a week ago by Devyn and she was amazing, she made me feel relaxed. The place was clean, and I really like how inside the studio resembled a subway.
I got my first ever piercing here (not an ear piercing) here. I got a naval piercing and Lala was very professional and made me feel comfortable.Update: After a year or so Ive realized that my piercing was done too far up above my naval. I feel that contributed to the year and 2 month healing process since it didnt have much room to breathe
Its a bit pricey $$$ but the staff is well qualified. I had my first one done and I was very happy. Now years later will have another. Hopefully this artist is just as good.

Went on 3/20/20 to get my nostril pierced. I got my piercing done by Devyn, she’s the bestttt!! Very patient and fast! It was a 1,2,3 process thank god because I was very nervous. I recommend this place for piercings and ask for Devyn when you go she’s beyond great! Lastly this place is very clean and spacious!!! I would definitely be visiting again for future piercings to have it done by Devyn ❤️! Once again thank you Devyn, I’m in love with my nose piercing, can’t wait to change the jewelry!!
Elliott has been tattooing me for about a year and a half now and he is the most professional tattooer I have ever worked with. His creative mind is amazing and he makes my ideas come to life elegantly in all of the work he’s done.
The second i walked in i got greeted by the manager and he was very kind to help with anything I needed. The employees and artists make you feel comfortable and have great customer service. Im very picky on picking tattoos and artists and honestly not an easy person to deal with as a customer but there was no worries or pickiness or complaints happening because everything was just that good. My girlfriend got a chibi buddha tattoo done by an artist name Elliot. He used a great color palette and left the tattoo looking amazing, line work on point, color made it pop down to the tiniest detail like the gem stone on the head of the tat which made it when pop more. all was done for a reasonable price nothing overpriced especially for such an amazing job. Thanks to Elliots great customer service he help me come up with a great idea for a cover up tattoo and Im going back tomorrow to get it started. Tuff City has a been known for there art, the artists and there service being elite or in another level compaired to other tattoo shops and there artist Elliot showed that they are about that.
First time at Tuff City Tattoos. I’ll never go to another tattoo shop. Artis Elliott really hooked me up. He did more than I wanted (IN A GOOD WAY). Leaving happier than when I came in. Extremely excited and ready to show off my new tat!!!
Got a tattoo by Al dont get me wrong his work is nice. But he kinda denied me getting a color tattoo. On top of that I asked for the orb on my tattoo to be clear and he darkened it way to dark changing the whole meaning to my tattoo. On top of this it was suppose to be a three hour tattoo nd it exceeded. Me willing to pay more for extra time even tho originally he told me he wouldnt showed how irresponsible he is because he left his son alone at home leaving me paying 450 for a half done tattoo. I do understand that I was a walk in but I asked 2 times if he was sure he can do it because I go to school for massage therapy and now I have to wait 2 years in order to finish this tattoo because once my semester starts in 2 weeks I need my arms to be available over all bad experience I wont be returning.
Went in to get 3 piercings. I had 7 piercings already that were all done by females, so I was a little disappointed to hear that there was no female working here, especially since I was planning on getting my nipples pierced. However, I couldnt have dealt with a more professional piercer. Will was so polite and kind and made me feel very comfortable. He did my under the tongue web piercing as well as both nipples. Other than the pain that comes with the piercing, everything else was great. Would definitely recommend him to anyone

I walked in for a conch piercing and Devyn did my piercing and was amazing. She talked to me through the whole process and it was 100% painless, I will only see Devyn for my next piercings!!
Im not going to say I necessarily dislike it. However, I went in the night before and schedule an appointment for the next day. I went back the next day for my 2 p.m. appointment and I was told that the girl who scheduled me Had scheduled it wrong because there are supposed to be an hour and between each appointment. However, it was really strange to me how he was just about to start a tattoo right at 2 oclock... Which was my appointment time. And that tattoo was going to take 3 hours. So, it was a little fishy to me. And ironically the girl who booked me wasnt there that day. So Im going to say back customer service in bed recovery service.

Came in today and was tatted by Elliot, and he is great!! Absolutely loved the way the piece looks and he is cool and takes his time to make sure what you are looking for is perfect!!! Definitely will come to him again for another piece!!!
I highly recommend this spot for all of your piercing needs. I got both my earlobes pierced at Tuff City. The customer service was excellent! I was greeted immediately upon entering the shop and directed to the back that led to an area upstairs where piercings are done. The esthetic of this place is phenomenal btw. The tattoo booths are replicas of MTA trains. Not only does it look cool but it also provides some privacy. The piercing area located upstairs also has an NYC subway theme. One entire wall is designed to look like the inside of a train complete with windows and booth style seating. The opposite wall is adorned with subway tiles. The place is super clean. The woman who did my piercing was super nice. She was very skilled and it didnt hurt a bit. She used sterile needles, not a piercing gun. I paid $50 for two piercings. Totally worth the price for the comfort of knowing I was in a clean, comfortable environment run by professionals.

We went on a Saturday the manager said an hour & half wait. That turned into 4 hours. That turned into can you come Monday at 12pm. That turned into...all my tattoo artists called out today.
I got my nipples pierced here, the piercer was really friendly, the facility very clean, and you get a really good deal here. In other locations 2 nipple piercings would be $75 when here was $50 I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
This place is very clean and cool. My daughter had gotten a spider bite piercing done by Will and he was so good. He was clean and had great communication skills. I highly recommend someone getting their piercing from him.

Got a tattoo there yesterday 11/13/2020 in the midst of this covid thing. Only place I could find still doing Friday the 13th special. Tattoo artist was the best I ever been to for just about every reason. 10/10 def recommend and def going back. I’m thinking the face next. This one was on my head.
So Devyn is the best. 3 of us came in last minute (maad ignorant I know), the dude at the desk straight up said they were closed, but Devyn was there and was down to take us for our piercings anyway. She’s wicked funny and friendly, made the whole process quick and easy, made sure we were all comfortable and kept us entertained with anecdotes of her shenanigans on the road 😂 prices are dope, and the shop itself has an MTA theme which is pretty dope. Overall great experience and definitely recommend. 10/10
I do not recommend this place i will never ever step foot in this facility again. I went there for my first tattoo because i wanted it to be done in a “official place”. After the tattoo healed it looked like Ive had it for years when I only had a month with it. The letters are different width and in all honesty it makes me regret getting a tattoo. I will be getting a cover up or ill just have to get it laser removed. I went again to get it touched up because there was a piece that was not completely filled in with ink and to see if they can make the letteres not so blurry. They fixed that but now the tattoo just looks thicker than before. Im so disappointed i do not recommend this place at all, i wish i could get a refund.
My piercer George is the best there is. If you are nervous about getting a piercing, he will make sure to calm you down before doing it. I have 7 out of 11 piercings done by him. Traveling 2 hours to go see him is totally worth it each time.
Overrated and always empty. Thought cause we were females they could just give us any artist after review of there works most of the artist couldnt do proper lines or had shading issues. Did something super small and simple didnt trust anything more with them. Basic customer service , not too impressed.
I personally like it here. They are very nice and friendly. Good at giving tips and helping you find out more information for what you need. They are very clean and comforable to work with whatever you want to do on you body. I got my septum pierced twice. I only got it twice because i thought i didnt want it at first but now i really like so thats cool.
The environment is always quality and great customer service. The artist are professional and this guy Pauly has got this absolutely zoned in attitude which was great because the tattoo came out exactly as desired.
Absolutely love this place the only issue I had with it was the tattoo guy but they have a new guy now so I have nothing bad to say. Ive gotten two piercings and two large tattoos here. Joey did the biggest tattoo I have and its absolutely beautiful.

Terrible!!! I went there to get my daughters name a certain style and the tattoo artist end up doing w.e he want it to do, he literally screwed up my baby’s name and all the other work I already had on me before seeing him, even after he traced it like 3 times. Smh.If you want to be satisfied with your tattoo, I don’t recommend you this place.!!!

Edit as of 4.18.21: After a few months the recovery process has turned to: a double infection for my Conch piercings. I had gotten a procedure done at a separate Piercing establishment. (So sorry I couldnt come back!) The procedure cost $100 to have the overlap skin removal (which is normal in the healing process) alongside a separate installations of full steel rods. The ones that were used may have given me an allergic reaction, and may not have been full steel grade material. The piercing of the friend has since been removed, as an infection occurred to her as well. The material used may have not sat well with her skin. For both piercings received: longer rods should have been in place, as the pierced skin will be known to swell. This, in turn, gives better leverage for healing, in the chance of an infection. Because our jewelery pieces were not long enough, the healing process caused an infection, as we were unable to clean our jewlerys appropriately....This place is great, first timers too! The decor is SUPER NYC and Urban. Upon entering, the artists have their individual train cars for tattooing. I love that so much. One on one time with the client is super important, considering we get something permanently done to our body. However, we came here for piercings-on a Tuesday evening! :) I had originally came here for a piercing named daith. According to urban legend, this piercing relieves migraine headaches. However, it wasnt meant to be as my ears were not fitted for this piercing. Which, I would not have know,, if it wasnt for our fabulous piercer Aríel (m). He was utterly delightful as both her and I had nerves to the brim. His friendly sense of humor, hospitality, kindness and dance moves really drove us to enjoy our piercings. We As I review this, we both have ice to our ears as it calms down- which, was recommended by Ariel. He told us the post care, length of healing time, as well as gave us pointers for other types of piercings. He was open to us about his experience and his goals, which was super exciting. Well definitely be coming back, we highly recommend Ariel (go get pierced by him!)

Before I came to Tuff City, I got my nose pierced twice at another piercing shop, not to mention it was the worst mistake I ever made. Those piercings never made it past a month or two all because of the person I went to. I decided to get my nose pierced for the third time and I came to Tuff City. I got my nose pierced by Roxy, and she did an amazing job. Ive had this piercing for four months now, and I plan on coming back here for any other piercing I may get.

I just literally got my ears pierced right now by Devyn and I was absolutely worried that she would be careless about my first piercings ever but literally she was so sweet and caring for my experience. Went with my friend a couple weeks ago and got tattoos done by Elliot, the tattoos came out amazing and he made us feel very comfortable the whole time, hes definitely a great artist.
I came here on my birthday to get TWO small words, 9 letters . They were small in width about less than an inch. Secondly they made me look up the font and I could not find the exact one I wanted so I had to get an alternative , something the usual tattoo shop I go to in castle hill does not do, they would hand draw every tattoo so that threw me off but once they mentioned $130 I left . I would never pay $130 for a small tattoo when I could get it at the tattoo shop in castle hill for less and exactly how I want it for about $50. This place is a scam dont waste your money, they are overrated . If you want to spend money worth spending go to Bang Bang, in 328 Broome St NYC . Its expensive but amazing quality .
I Came in the last minute to get my surface tragus piercing, the piercer was about to leave and he agreed to do it for me. The place is beautiful very different. The piercing was quick and easy.

I called them just recently and asked if the were open but before I can finish my furthering my question the man responded to me with the utmost uncomfortable and rude response I see that sarcasm isn’t making customers like myself interested or comfortable with entering this tattoo shop I’m guessing this is a regular reaction but of which need to be addressed
I went in with my hubs. so that we can get our wedding date tatted on the ring finger. They charged us $60 dollars a piece for a total of 120 dollars for six super small numbers. That was the price and i pay for what I want n so we went for it well what a mistake. When the tattoo cleared n all the scab was off and gone all you were able 2 see was lines that didnt even match of made any sense n a tattoo that looked that it was there for 50 yeRs n was just fading away. All in all it was a terrible experienced I dont know if the person who did it knew what he was doing but it just told me not to ever go back for anything no matter how bad I would want a tattoo I just will not be coming back to this place and I had to take the time to let others know because if I knew this ever happened to anyone before I would of have not went there at all in the first place to begin with. I will now have to go somewhere else n fix this horrendous tattoo n only wish if i could post a picture so others can see what I am talking about. With that said it is on your discration if you want to go there.

Pretty cool place. The staff are friendly. Some more than others. They will work with what you want, collab and come up with ideas. You can get a small tat on the spot but if your looking for bigger work you have to schedule an appointment

First tattoo. I was in ecstasy for 2 hours. An expirience Ill never forget. Reign in Blood Slayer logo on the inside of the left arm. It looks spectacular. Phil did it. Its permanant and I am overwhelmed with happiness. NO REGRETS! I will get more from Phil. It was clean safe very informative, got the details right, was done while I was in a wheelchair from spinal cord injury. AWESOME! I THINK I AM ADDICTED NOW LoL! When it was over, I wanted more. :) wish I could upload a pic.

Can not recommend this place :-( the guy was very nice. Me and my partner got ring finger tattoos . 2 weeks later they are faded and splotchy. Their outlets didnt work and he had to play with it a long time and it cut out on us a couple of times as he was tattooing... No bueno :-(

2022-06-07I have been going to Tuff City for my piercings for 8 years. I started when I was a teenager and the woman who used to do the piercings (Roxy) was phenomenal. She always gave out the aftercare pamphlet after doing every and any piercing, she was engaging with ALL customers regardless of looks and she welcomed any questions regarding piercings. She was super professional but personable and you could tell she really enjoyed piercing people here. She left a few years ago so I have been getting my piercings done by a lady who is mainly there on weekends. She is not inviting, she is not professional, she does not go over aftercare and she is just very intimidating so I never ask questions.The men at the front desk are unprofessional as well and do not keep track of anything. I honestly should have expected this given that this place is located in the Bronx but things felt different when Roxy was there. I guess times were different too I mean this was back in 2014 so perhaps people took their jobs more seriously back then but now? Not at all! Nobody cares at Tuff City. I keep coming here because this is where my body mods started when I was young but I WILL have to retire this place. I am getting older and I want to feel comfortable and valued as a customer especially with something as delicate as body mods.STAY AWAY from this place if you are a classy person who wants quality service (and jewelry). You are better off going to a reputable piercing parlor in Manhattan.

2022-07-10First time getting a piercing. Ariel was INCREDIBLE! I just got my septum done today. I was SOOO nervous in the waiting room. I have read that the septum piercing if done wrong can hurt a lot. Ariel made me feel so comfortable as soon as he walked out of the piercing room. He did an AMAZING job! He was quick, no pain at all only a few tears (like when you do a covid swab test). Thank you Ariel!!

2022-05-07This was my first experience ever entering a tattoo shop and I didn’t know what to expect. I was planning on getting a simple lobe piercing and took my daughter who had previous really bad experiences with Claire’s. (She’s 11 yrs old)We walked in and the place was impeccably clean, and we just fell in love with the trains that were private rooms for people getting tatted. It felt like this really ruggedly clean transit museum.The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and professional. He told us to go upstairs for piercing. When I walked up the stairs I found four nice girls and let them know why I was there. The apprentice then had me fill out the paperwork for myself and my daughter and made me check my ears three times before she called the piercing person in. She is a piercing Queen!!’ Her name is Devyn and she is a beautiful And patient person. She made me feel completely at ease and it was painless. Then she did my daughters and that was it.We were in and out in half an hour max, and that’s only because we started having a conversation about something off topic. I will definitely be back for a second piercing. A week has passed and I haven’t had any issues with my piercings, nor has my daughter. They advise you to purchase a saline spray and use it daily to keep the piercing clean. So far so good!I will recommend Devyn for piercings at Tuff City. She loved what she does and you can tell. She’s a professional and does other cool things also like teeth gems and teeth whitening. She has an awesome Instagram page which I started following, piercing_munckin94 where you can see her work. It’s really pretty work!!!

2022-03-07I am not the type to write reviews but i needed to.I went to Deyvn for my piercing she was amazing with the process. It was painless and easy. However, after two week my nose started to form a piercing bump. I reached out to her and gave me her advice to crush aspirin. That didnt work. So I reached out once again. She then informed me she will not be in the shop for a “while” that the other piercer Ariel can help me.He did the complete opposite. He barely looked at it. It could have been the type of jewelry that was irritating. But he wouldnt know because he did even bother to look at it all he said was it looks irritated.If you want a knowledgeable piercer and a shop that cares about their customers do NOT go here.

2022-06-23One day last month my mom called to ask about a nostril/nose piercing. Whatever man that was on the phone was very disrespectful and my mom was literally talking still, and he hung up with a “Yes we do” with attitude. And from the other reviews, please don’t go here. Clearly they’re bootleg subway artists that want to try to look good. Who is a “MED”? LOL! Miserable, and sad.

2020-11-09Great experience environment was extremely clean and the artist were super friendly and professional. We had a signature that was small and almost impossible to scan but they worked with the image we provided and the tattoo came out perfect. So happy with it.
