Lunch was served quickly and cordially and our order details were confirmed efficiently. The food was delicious with exquisite layered revelations of complementary spices as you chewed. I think you will not be disappointed with their service, food quality and price.RA
Tiny thai in Washington heights. Great Thai food in a tiny spot. Only 8 tables. No hard liquor but they do serve wine. I had drunken noodles. It was beautifully presented. Made with big fat sloppy noodles. Yummy! The coconut soup was good. Made with fresh mushrooms. A great neighborhood joint!
I loved their food when ordered for delivery but they are racist! I tried to eat at the location twice and I was refused service because I wasn’t Asian, black or white. They first told me they only opened for lunch. When I went for lunch, they said they only open for dinner.
Not good. I got take out and ordered pad Thai which evidently had so much sugar and spicy chicken which literally tasted like pure salt I was shocked by how salty it was. Visually everything looked pleasing, but taste wise, I was not happy. I wonder if other people have the same experience or maybe this was just a bad batch. Really wanted to like the place but I dont think I would order form here again.
Great Thai food and inexpensive. I love their pineapple rice and also their pad Thai. I love their lunch selection. The staff is very nice and friendly. The only downside is the restaurant is too small and packed especially during lunch hour. You better off ordering takeout or eating after 2 pm. Otherwise is great.
I ordered a thai fried rice and dumplings from them. The order came fairly quickly BUT the lady who took my order was VERY rude and the seared vegetable dumplings were very soggy and did not taste good at all. This was my first and definitely LAST experience with them.
Fairly decent Thai restaurant, great for quick lunch or grab and go. The food was delicious as expected, I must say they have great lunch menu for a fairly reasonable price, keep in mind that this restaurant is cozy and can only accommodate a few number of people at the same time. But if youre into Thai food and youre looking for a place to eat then sure. 👍Please like if you feel that post is helpful. Tnx
This is one of our favorite go-to Asian restaurants in the neighborhood! Their lunch special price is hard to beat and it is until 4pm...! They are also open until 11pm so a great place for a late night snack too. The other location on 181st has a bar if you want drinks.
Serviceable Thai food, nothing great but better than their sister restaurant on 181st street. Im usually here during the lunch time crowds, when service is efficient, if a bit brusque. Based on the many other Thai places Ive been to from here to Florida to San Francisco, food quality here is average at best. Still, good to have it here, and it is right near the hospital in case you are in the area.
Definitely a solid spot for Thai food but I would say one frustration is the food is inconsistent. I’ve gotten food from here 20-30 times and the quality is not always the same. I enjoy the Panag curry but I’ve definitely ordered it hand had there be little to no flavor. That said the service/delivery is pretty fast.
I have to say that a first glance I wasnt expecting much. This place is very tiny. But once I sat down and tasted the food they won me over. Is such great fresh flavors beautiful to experience Thai food in this way I would highly recommend it to those visiting New York and the locals that are nearby it is definitely worth your time and the prices are superb I cant wait to go back!
Neighborhood Thai. If youre looking for something prepared exactly as you had it in Thailand, this isnt the place. If you want tasty Thai food that accurately portrays the spirit of Thai dishes and is prepared by Thai people, this is a solid option. Prices are reasonable. Its a small place and they can get very busy as they are the best Thai option in the neighborhood. You may have to deal with waits but the staff work very hard to keep everything moving.
The food was good but, after paying so much for my meal, I refuse to pay extra for some peanut sauce. Why do these establishments nickel and dime their customers? Generally, I order via grub hub so I dont usually personally visit. The extra for the peanut sauce left a bad taste in my mouth. Noticed that it has a grade pending sign. Hmmm.....
This place is always delivering hot, extremely fresh food! I have tried pad Thai, drunken noodles, spicy basil, spring rolls, and the spicy potatoes. All of the dishes have arrived in a timely manner, clean and fresh. I have also dined in the restaurant and they have quick service. Ive tried other thai food in the area and it doesnt compare.
We ordered delivery from this restaurant and although the food was fresh, it was VERY bland. Bland is not what I want when I order Thai food! Among other things that were okay (not great but fine), we ordered chicken and vegetables with peanut sauce and it arrived looking and tasting like plain boiled chicken and plain steamed vegetables. The peanut sauce came in a tiny container on the side, not much sauce, despite the name of the dish... probably wont order from here again. : (
Whew! I was about to put this place on BLAST cause at first the service was not the best. They seemed to be rushing and not very attentive to their customers. From their demeanor seeming uncaring, to me having to wait before anyone attended to me to be seated, to the waitress leaving and cutting me off before I was able to finish my order to the point in which I had to call her back, I was about to put the worst review everrrr! But then the staff got better about halfway thru my meal. They started smiling and were very attentive. Soooo yeah, I dont know what the change was. Maybe they felt I was going to put a bad review. :)But the food here was very good. Nice flavoring to all the dishes. I had the spring roll, marraman chicken curry and Thai iced tea. Yes, very good. But 4 stars due to the worst first impression...
Ordered before food was actually good. Called back 2/3 weeks later and their delivery guy doesnt want to deliver to my address not so sure what the problem is I even added a dish to my order to make it more worth their while and was prepared to tip him 10 bucks...they called me back 45 minutes later to inform me of all this...they suck.
Awesome, reasonably priced Thai food in Washington Heights! The place, however, is very small, cramped, and doesnt even have room for the people waiting to sit down to stand, so it ends up being very awkward at times as people waiting for tables are standing over you. Avoid at lunch hours where they are the busiest.
Tung Thong might be the best thai food Ive had ever. The food is always so flavorful and fresh. I eat here at least once a week for lunch. My favorites are the ginger dish and pad thai. The thai tea is also very tasty. This location gets very busy during lunch, so there will be a wait during these hours, but the wait is telling of the delicious food. The staff are also very nice even when they are super crowded and busy. Tung Thong is a MUST HAVE!
Giving a star would be a favour to them. Poor ambience, cold small room and the dish I ordered Kung Ob Woonsen was bad, not in the presentation but taste. Noodles were 4 times more salty. Shrimp in it had no taste like boiled shrimp and vegetables too few to mention. Left all the noodles at lunch. Dont recommend at least this dish, others I dont have the courage to try.
The place only has four tables and two tiny corner seats. When I walked in I stood there for ten minutes and no one acknowledged me or the three other people that had come in. Two more people came. Two people left upset that no one helped them. When I went forward for help the waitress wrinkled her nose at me. The young lady looked me up and down frowning at me, then she seated the people that came in after me. Im not sure if that was to punish me for having the audacity to attempt to sign in. I ended up stepping outside and called in my order for pickup. Fifteen minutes later the frowning girl motioned me forward. I went to pay and once more I got the frowny face as if I was too close to her. I apologized and as soon as I paid another waitress made shooing motions to get me back toward the door and away from the credit card machine. I got home and the food was hot and the food was good until I hit something that looked like raw salmon in my fried rice. The egg rolls were awesome! The cashew chicken was awesome! The fried rice was bland and as above freaked me out. Their rice is perfect. Maybe this is just a New York cultural thing. Back home people in the service industry smile and make you feel welcome. I felt awkward and bothersome for wanting a seat. Im not fat but my BMI is 28; I wouldnt have even tried to fit into a table...even if I had been offered one. I would suggest delivery. I spoke to the delivery guys on the way out and they were pretty nice and much more helpful than the waitresses.
The food is great. However they are very, very busy. The woman answering the phone behaved as if I was wrong to complain that I was on hold for 10 minutes before anyone took my order. To add insult to injury, I was told the wait time for delivery was 1 hour. If you are starving, then this is not the place to order from.
Tung Thong Thai is a welcome addition to the Washington Heights area, an area that just doesn’t have a lot of great dining options. The pad thai, pad see ew, and curries are decent, and the papaya salad is surprisingly fresh and crunchy. Their lunch deals are a steal: $7.25 to $9 (based on your protein choice) for an entree, soup, and spring roll. I believe its the only place like it in the area, so be sure to stop by for lunch when you have a craving for Thai food.
NEVER AGAINFood is relatively decent for washing heights. First delivery was 45 minutes late. Second was twenty five late. And third was 54 late. To make it worse,me hen you call for information on why its late, they hang up you - happened more than once. NEVER AGAIN!!!

2022-05-06Small place and it isnt fancy by any means, but it doesnt need to be. The food speaks for itself, the service is relatively fast and its good.Im not even a fan of pad Thai tbh, but phuck me I was a fan.I got squid basil.Take out is an option if you hate unfamiliar human faces, but definitely try it out if youre hungry and lost on what to get.

2022-04-20Food here is fine, nothing special but you could certainly do worse in a neighborhood without many quality Asian options. Writing this review because I ordered a fried rice dish that was listed at $15 on their website, then I went to pick it up and was told that I owed $27. When I expressed confusion, the server told me that we dont use the website anymore. They should really either update their information or take the website down.

2022-02-28I highly recommend you order through the UberEats app or Grubhub. I tried ordering directly from the restaurant since it’s usually a lot cheaper than ordering through a third party. I actually ended up paying more by ordering with the restaurant directly. Their menu on their website is not updated so that was very frustrating since it’s reflecting inaccurate prices.**Editfound a piece of metal from a scouring pad inside my Pad Thai. at this point I’m not sure I’m going to enjoy my meal at all.

2018-09-28Is a small place nothing impressive about the decoration. It gives the feeling of a take out Chinese fast food restaurant with high prices and table service with bad food. The staff is pleasant but the food although their serving portions are big and the presentation was pretty good to the eye, sadly the taste wasnt, Food didnt feel like it was fresh either. The price was high considering the food was bad.

2019-10-21The food it’s excellent, but, the customer service doesn’t get to give them the five stars. Most restaurants in the city have forgotten the reason why their businesses are running. It is not enough to have an exquisite menu if you don’t offer a good service as well.In my case, I didnt have the best experience, they charged me a mimosa that I returned because the champagne didnt taste good. It was old and it was also the last one they had, so they preferred to charge me the glass of mimosa because I had taken half of it.In the other hand, the fried ice cream is delicious.

2019-07-16Surprisingly good place for lunch, the coconut soup is very yummy and the curry tastes really good. Love the way they cook the vegi. Not overly cooked and still firm. Love it.
