Their food is ok but oh boy the waitress had too much attitude. She didnt even respond to our greetings and when we were leaving I said Thank you to her and she just looked at me and didnt even respond. Never going back there.Replied back to owner: thank you for looking into this. She might have had a bad day but its ok. We will come back again. Just wanted to mention that chicken kababs r really good.
Food is great. Only seats about 12-14 people. Would get an extra star if it had a separate restaurant, but the food is so Food, I still have to eat there. Kabobs , eggplant salad , lamb chops are all great as well as the humus. It is priced so cheap, order a large variety of food for maximum goodness. They also have a custard desert that is fabulous.
Mostly a take out food joint.Loved the lady at the front desk, who also took down my food order. She was very sweet and friendly.About the food -- I have to say that it was something extraordinary for a small pace like that. I didnt imagine the food be so good!Would definitely return and would suggest it to others.Quick service, great food, super friendly staff, and amazing food!! What else could one ask for!?
The food here is really made with love. Its a small place but dont let that sway you, the staff is so friendly and the food is always presented well. I was looking at some of the turkish bread they had to sell in one of the freezers, the woman behind the register saw me looking at it and offered to prepare some with my meal so i could try it. Im glad I did! Ended up buying it. I go here every Tuesday for their chicken gyro.
I was so excited about finding stuff from my childhood that from having just lunch lamb skewer and a Atana lamb skewer over rice and salad very simple dish and was flavorful, also the fresh bread that we got was awesome, totally forgot take pictures 🤦♀️ while we waited for the food to be ready I did some authentic Turkish food and drinks, I ended up with 2 full bags of groceries and I didnt plan to lol the stuff people were great and polite and greeted us upon arrival 😊
This restaurant is not a typical dine-in restaurant. Its a Turkish grocery shop and restaurant, with full table service. The food is always fresh, portioned just right and reasonably priced. This place is outrageously delicious. Very hospitable and the food is made with love. This place is also a great option for take-out or delivery.
My experience with them so far is great. They have amazing food. I frequently order food deliveries from them. Not all places make Turkish food as good as these guys. Chicken Adana and well done chicken shish kebab are my favorites. They also make lamb doner and grilled fish that are so delicious. Entrees come with Turkish pita bread, grilled pepper & tomatoes and small salad. Also, the owners are very nice. I definitely recommend them
After ordering the chicken kebab dish, 15-20 minutes into the meal developed 10/10 abdominal pain, lightheadedness, nausea, and sweating. Had to go to the local ED at Mercy. Little concern was shown by the staff during this episode. Saw several flies crawling on the window, cleanliness not being addressed on this hot summer day. Id just recommend diners to be careful.Follow up: 285 dollar ED bill. Thanks guys. Going to help me foot this one?
While the food is good and seems like a step up from similar restaurants in the area; the delivery service is not worth the effort. My last order was place at 6pm at night, after waiting 1:15 I called to check on the status of my order. I was told that the delivery driver was very close and would be there in 5 minutes. After waiting another 30 minutes from that with no delivery, I called back and the phone rang continually with no answer and then was disconnected. The 3 attempts after that went to a busy signal. Immediately after that I called again from my home phone line and the call was answered after 1 ring, this could be due to them being busy, but after waiting almost 2 hours for my food this seems like they were purposely ignoring/blocking my calls. At this point the person on the other end made no guarantees of when the food would arrive, so I cancelled my delivery.I will not be ordering from here again and I recommend you find another restaurant if you would like timely and courteous delivery service.
This is a somewhat hidden gem in West Hempstead. It is part cute compact restaurant and part gourmet grocery with unique and hard to find Turkish products. I have shopped and ordered to go and very pleased with both. It is very clean with very friendly and helpful staff. I am getting more familiar with Turkish food and products and so happy I found Turkuaz. It is a must visit even if you have to travel a fair distance. It would be a disgrace to let this one go. I gave four stars because as much as I believe it may be five stars nothing is perfect but so far Turkuaz comes close.

2022-05-16Stumbled across this gem by accident. Tried the Chicken Adana sandwich and absolutely loved it. The chicken was juicy, tender and spiced perfectly.Would definitely come back next time in the neighborhood and try their bbq.I would also recommend buying the Turkish delight that were really fresh and soft.

2020-11-02It was ok... Gyro was a bit greasy and white sauce was watery. Meat was decent. Not overly impressed.

2021-10-06In my opinion one of the best places for Turkish food. I have been coming here for years and can’t say that I’ve had a bad experience with service or food quality. Portions are sized really well, quality ingredients. My fav place for baklava and fresh bread. Owner is a nice guy too. Highly recommend.
