A spacious spot with a great selection of whiskeys. Megan, bartender, and Josh, security, were charming and definitely made me want to come back. 100% recommended.
I had trouble finding the right venue to host an engagement party and Turnmill was PERFECT. Great back room, fantastic service- thank you Manny beyond beyond. Peggy and Bryan made sure everything was perfect

Went here after catching a show at jazz standard across the street. Totally different vibe than thought would be. Looked like a cool bar from the outside. Inside dj was turning and music was loud and interesting mix. Good enough but not great place for talking and hanging with friends as music was def loud. Drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Need a decent bar and in the area good choice.
Stopped in for a drink on the way home after a Sunday night football game -- seems like it might be a nice place to watch a game actually. The decor and mood was very inviting, lots of dark wood and soft lighting, and our bartender was very nice. The drink selection was nice and though prices were a little high they werent too crazy for midtown. The bathrooms were in good condition, but I remember thinking how funny they were because they reminded me of a high school bathroom, they didnt match the decor of the restaurant at all.
Great spot in Murray Hill area. Perfect for groups to hang, drink, and dance!
There is no question of not liking this place more so if you are a beer lover like me. Good place. Loved the food taste although i felt that the portions were a bit small for the price. Good place to hang out with friends and look good doing that. Oh and for price conscious, theres happy hour too.
A quarterly visit to Turnmill was always due for work functions. their friendliness and accommodating service will make me feel happy thoughts whenever i think about Upland. they will reserve tables and areas for your party and i LOVE how much they check on you to make sure your tables have enough of anything and everything.the nachos are pretty tasty...but the fries are my favorite. Happy Hour and sports on the t.v.- nothing more, nothing less.
Went there early from Long Island to watch the Everton game. Didn’t feel welcome at all. Manager came out and basically said we have to spend $60 on drinks because they had no food. I understand it’s tough times with COVID but the hospitality just was never there.

Met a friend here on a busy day I guess! Pretty unpredictable! One day you cant get in the door without being IDed, and even past that, hard to squeeze your way through the crowd. The next week I walked in and met my buddy at one of the many open bar stools. Regardless of capacity and crowd, its a great place with happy hour pricing available, and accessible drinks.
This place claims to be a sports bar but its not. I went there Dec 28 for a big college football playoff game (there was only one big game in all of sports that day) and instead of playing the audio of game they played disco music. I asked them to play the game and they refused. Not a sports bar.But my girlfriend wants to go for the Superbowl in hopes theyll be showing Cats the musical.

Lively vibe and good, rustic atmosphere. Disagree with the earlier comments about good beer selection. Many doesnt mean good. Chalkboard listing is unnecessary. They have the most popular 18 beers on the planet and the 2 most popular and tired local micros. Same thing a month ago. Rotate a few taps with current micros and Id stop in regularly. 2-stars at best if you overweight new/micro beer.
Attended a party there and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Nice crowd, great music, some room to dance. Bartenders a bit overwhelmed, but worked hard and made some good drinks. Ill be going back.
A relaxed friendly environment. Nice bar with cocktail selection. While we didnt order food, we saw several tables did so will try the food menu the next time we are there.
Seems nice inside with a pleasant atmosphere and good beer/whiskey selection however I am a bit of a whiskey connoisseur and particularly love Red Breast. Call me crazy but the Reb Breast I ordered absolutely tasted like BV and lacked the district lingering finish of Red Breast. For those of you that drink it, you know what I mean. Was disappointed.
Horrendously pungent smell protrudes through 2/3 of this establishment. Service was alright but bill management was haphazard at best. Several line items on our bill were clearly not ordered by us, but it was impossible to get the situation rectified due to an arrogant manager.
What a fun place for late night drinking and fun w friends! Extensive selection of draft beers and Irish whiskeys, cant beat that! Maybe not so great on the buy backs but either way, keep them coming!
Stopped by recently for lunch with a coworker. Soda tasted disgusting. The chicken that was served with my salad was so old and hard it seemed like it was at least a week old. Very very gross. I would not recommend eating here.
Was having a great time until the bouncer decided that he wanted to kick us out all because we were simply standing too close to his girlfriend and he didn’t like it. He thought it was ok to do it by dragging my friends by their hair, throwing me to the ground landing at front door and pinning another friend down. The other bar tenders and bouncers were shrugging it off like it was a normal occurrence and didn’t bother to help the situation. If you want to run the risk of getting beat up by a man 4x your size over who knows what the next time than enjoy yourself but otherwise stay out of here. After seeing how this situation was handled the Turnmill has most likely had this issue with its bouncer before.
Gateway to excellent service and to a wonderful destination outside the ordinary.

The bouncer here physically attacked me and four friends for looking at his girlfirend. He dragged the women out by their hair then pinned me like it was a wrestling match. The police showed and said they could do nothing without video The bartenders ignored it like it was the norm. Great spot to go if you like being assaulted by large men
I enjoyed watching the football games. Beer was cold and waitresses were good. The wings were not the best quality and were under cooked. I would go back but would avoid the wings.
Solid spot for Monday trivia and small groups, but the wait staff seems overextended and they are often out of some of the beer selections on their menus. Try the wings.
Turnmill is my go-to happy hour spot in the area. They have some of the best HH deals and have a better appetizer selection than other go-to spots. Usually pretty low-key vibe good for hanging out with friends
Went on a Thursday they had a DJ a bit too loud for conversations. I prefer the previous layout as a sports bar. Also very few vegan options for appetizers.
Turnmill is a great dive/sports bar. Nice beer menu with some local stuff and periodic rotation. Plenty of space. Food is bar food but quite good.
Weirdly racist bar. Wouldn’t let me in with European government I.D. - never happened to me in 10y in this great city. Girl at the door (who said she was the manager) extremely bratty and unfriendly. Good luck with that attitude!

Booked an impromptu engagement party for a friend. The drinks are affordable and great. Very lively. Hosts and waiters were super nice.
A manager here, Eamonn, came up to me completely out of the blue while I was talking to my friends and asked me if I knew them.He then took it upon himself to move my beer from one place to another at the bar.When I asked him to explain himself, he said I had apparently talked to someone at the bar who worked there at some point in the night.I told him I didnt feel very welcome after his behavior and he slapped me on the back.When I told him I wanted to leave and hed have to waive the credit card minimum for me, he cursed at me.I made it very clear to him that it wasnt acceptable for him to act the way he did towards me, and he said I was making too big a deal out of things.I do think its a big deal to be able to go someplace and not be harassed.Eamonn should have no role in any managerial capacity, or even be allowed to set foot in a place where he feels hes entitled to harass people.
Great drinks and very well decorated. Music on saturday night was great. Basically bangers from 90s to recent. This bar has great potential!
This place has a nice mellow vibe, thats a good thing. Not too loud and has a good drink/food selection for a large picky group.The back bar is great for private events too.
When I first arrived I thought this place was amazing!! But, hey over charged us for drinks (by 7 of them!!!) and the manager didn’t seem to care or make the situation right. It’s so disappointing.

Perfect place to watch the sports day on multiple live screens. They offer multiple beers both bottled wine on tap. They also have a food menu with quite appetizing hamburgers and sandwiches.

2022-06-18Good place for after work drinks. There service is good and handle groups well. Drinks are reasonably priced. Their pretzel is really good and have loaded fries and jalapeno poppers that are good for sharing. Good selection of tap and bottled beers. Whiskey and liquors are a little basic. Space outside is a plus for nice weather day.

2022-04-05The wine was only a year old. There are no other selections for older wine. The bet part was the spicy margarita. That definitely was worth it. Sadly the “loaded fries” are not loaded at all, just dry fries with a bit of dried up cheese and some scallions popped over with bacon. Worst part was the ketchup side and no other sides.

2021-11-27This bar in a historic flatiron space is phenomenal. Alexa is of my favorite bartenders, great conversation and great pours! The jazz on wendsday is top teir. The only thing is they close at 12pm so get it in early. If your hungry definitely try the wings!

2019-10-26Came to Turnmill Bar for a drink and to finish up some work with co-workers. Four drinks later Inhad to rush off to the airport. This place reminded so much of a pub after work in the UK.Service was great.
