My favorite place for Falafels! Many other Egyptian dishes (and gyros!) and the desserts are also really tasty. Freshness guaranteed, and just a couple of blocks away you can enjoy Statue of Liberty from distance and also Brooklyn Bridge! Owners are awesome, and hooked me up with free tea.
Everyone working in this restaurant was so kind and polite. The food was very good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. When we went for lunch, it wasnt crowded at all, which was a nice change of pace. Highly recommend if youre looking for a nice Brooklyn restaurant away from all the noise.
Looks like Tutt Cafe is under new management! Not that it was very bad before but now its improved. More space for tables, ramp at the entrance for handicapped persons and a very tasty menu. I liked the lamb shawarma and the babaganoush is very nice. Quick service and reasonably priced.
I stopped by with my friends and I saw this restaurant in quiet neighborhood with a great location in Brooklyn heights when you pass to the bounce bridge to Brooklyn bridge park. We ordered falafel plate and leg of lamb plate. The pita bread was Buffy that I hadnt seen before. The guys were so nice and professional they gave us a desert was so delicious. Definitely will back again
Went inside. The place was not full, but the food was very delicious. We tried 5 different individual pizzas and they were exotic and very good. Im from Los Angeles and have never tasted pizzas like these. Also everyone was friendly and they had tipical Egyptian music. I do recommend this place. I was skeptical at the beggining because not full but at the end left really happy and satisfied.
This Middle Eastern restaurant has been here for a while. The salads are very fresh. The platters are a nice size. I had the chicken kebob plater with bread and humus. It was delicious. Starters are delicious. I had the spinach and cheese pie. And the lentil soup. Both were very good. Service is okay. The prices are very reasonable.
I now eat here regularly (or order in). I love the 5 salad salad and when I go with friends, we each have our go to combos. We reel them off high speed and yet we have NEVER been brought a wrong order and the food is always delicious. Everyone I have taken here has enjoyed it and asked to go back. Its delicious, good for any dietary requirement, and not at all expensive. The Harira soup is the best, in any season and in agreement with the other reviewers, Tutts bread is out of this world amazing.
Informal atmosphere, friendly service, great for families with babies and toddlers. They baked fresh pita bread to order, and you can watch it balloon as it is being baked in front of your eyes. Get the five salad sampler with some lentil soup and make sure to try the hibiscus drink.
Pita bread is not cooked completely. Lamb meat is so hard to eat if you leave it for 10 minutes after its being heated in the microwave. Avoid Falafel at night since they will provide you the ones they were fried early morning in the day. Some dirt was found in the lettuce. Will never try their food again.
I and my friend went there, it was a horrible place.we ordered 3 appetizers dishes and 2 main dishes ,appetizers came after 45 minutes and it wasnt fresh.the main plates were totally wrong order which we waited for it for a long times, more than 1.5 hours.i dont beleive how people give them 5 stars.dont go this sh.. place.Btw this my second times Im writing this comment. Bcz they keep deleting it.they deleted my friends comment as well.:((((((
Tucked away on Hicks St on the north end of the Heights, this middle eastern joint screamed Egypt! The usual middle eastern fare w many vegan optionsThe soups were good, especially Harir though the lentil soup seemed under-seasoned. The beet salad was fine, the tabouli a bit dry and the falafel over-cooked.Service was speedy and the place is kid-friendly.
I was pissed off to see them freeze the lamb and heat it up with water in the microwave to make it juicy (UNHEALTHY). They deceived us that Lamb is fresh. Liars !!!!! Thats why if you leave it for about 20 minutes it will be so hard uneatable and smells like dead meat. Dont be deceived with their low prices.
The decor is unassuming and its a rather chill place. I absolutely went crazy for the hummus, the flavorful merguez (which was more like Kofte than actual merguez), and the Lentil Soup...oh my god!! The most flavorful of them all.I would definitely come back and bring my girlfriend.
The worst customer service experience . Im very upset that as a customer who was ordering not for the first time was treated poorly and more than that.I made an order on Uber Eats for this restaurant and pre-paid everything at the time when order was placed , however when delivery boy arrived I opened my package and realize that all order was wrong and the food that was inside was probably belonging to somebody else . I was calling the restaurant and requested to talk with somebody and explained that was a wrong order or my order was replaced, gentleman didnt speak any English and arguing in different language over the phone and past my phone to another gentlemen I explained that I paid for my food and wrong items was delivered he asked rudely What is your location? I said my location and my name he said Aha NO we can not deliver your food you are far away for us ! I was in shock what he just told me but it wasnt far away to charge my card and deliver wrong items. I told him I m sorry you treating your customer this way but I paid for the food and never got my items he said : Sorry Im busy I have go, I have to go customer waiting for me and hang up . Im in shock, I wouldnt recommend . DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ! Awful service they will rob you in anything they can.
The seating area outside is covered by a loose carpet which hides the slope in the ground. One of the group I was with sat on a seat and it tipped backwards. He hit his head and it caused a gash. This will happen again and somebody may be more badly hurt next time.We did not get the drinks we ordered and the staff were unapologetic obstructive and unhelpful.
The restaurant is very spacious, the tables are very far apart, the temperature is very pleasant, the menu is very varied and with many options of Mediterranean-Oriental food, and some more North American options, the food was very well seasoned, you really feel that flavor of Mediterranean food original, the pita, is 100% homemade, with a traditional and authentic recipe, the attention of the manager very good, always on the lookout, we charged the cell phone, in addition the bathroom was neat, very very clean, nothing to say about this place , fully recommended.

2022-05-30Great food, good pricing for the area. Only one server so things were a little slow. Super friendly server and he did the best he could.

2022-03-16I shouldnt post this because I dont want it to get more busy, but the restaurant deserves all the praise. Best Egyptian/Mediterranean style food without the crazy over priced shenanigans. Nice family vibe, great to sit and get out of the office or nice for takeout. Mixed grill is what you want to order.

2020-08-28We placed an order via Grubhub from Tutt Cafe and picked up at assigned time. The order process was not smooth because it got canceled and duplicated when we were picking up our order. The staff was friendly but not familiar with the issues caused by Grubhub which was frustrating. It was fixed in the end by Grubhub but was time-consuming.We had their Green Pitza, Leg of Lamb Plate and Baklava. The food was decent especially the leg of lamb. The lamb was cooked properly with no gamey taste even my husband who hates lamb finished his plate. We were disappointed with their baklava which was not the best in our experience and the filling was way too little.

2020-10-09I enjoyed having the lamb kebab. The meat was a little dry and salty on its own but eaten together with all the other parts of the meal tasted great. The pita bread is honestly the best part, they do it really well. Owner was really nice and accommodating to allergies.
