I have been a patient at this office since moving to Ithaca in 2015. I deeply appreciated the care given by Dr. Catalfamo, even though she presided over the removal of 5 teeth and 3 root canals. Now new shepherds have taken over the sheep. What can/should/will I expect from these new shepherds?I came to the office yesterday thinking that tooth removal would be the most likely suggested outcome. I received extensive care from several staff members, exploring a variety of options for the real problem. I ended up with a diagnosis that the primary problem is in my jaw muscles instead of in my teeth, and with a number of personal recommendations of exercises, personal care, etc. No root canal! No tooth removal! I am very happy that together the staff were able to end up with such a diagnosis.
Coming here is such a pleasant experience after a less than satisfactory experience at another practice. These folks will make you NOT dread going to the dentist. Friendly staff and superb docs! Best in town!
This is an exceptionally well run Dental practice. I’ve been to most of the recommended local dental offices, trying to get established for cleanings and if anything were to become an issue. Even tried to self direct at Fingerlakes Endodontics last year for a problem tooth. I’ve been traveling to Buffalo to the dentist I have there till now. I think Twin Sheep’s is going to work out. Friendly, professional and exceptional care. Reasonably priced, well appointed office and easy to find.
Excellent from greeting through departure. Very clearly a busy practice but I felt that all the associates from receptionist to doctor took time with me and made me feel like I was the only one there. First time visit. I have general dentist anxiety and they took care to make sure I was comfortable.
We love Twin Sheep Dentistry, from the doctors to the dental assistants to the front desk folks! They have been especially welcoming and personable to my kids. I highly recommend them for families!
Everything went well staff was extremely professional and friendly. I have only one suggestion. I witnessed one new patient struggling to input info into laptop. You might want to consider offering paper for those who don’t feel comfortable using technology.
Twin Sheep dentistry has a friendly cozy environment with recent updated equipment. This was Dr. Catafalmos office now with new providers who have been great to me. Their COVID policies let you feel safe with your mask off.
Amanda, the receptionist, put me at ease answering my Covid protecal questions. Michael, my dental hygienist, was personable & natural, which made relaxing & being myself easy. Also, it was the most pain free cleaning ever. Dr. Kim, after giving her analysis of the state of my dental health, took the time to listen to my story of how being an undiagnosed celiac untill age 37 contributed to my dental problems. The staff listens & is respectful of your needs.
I had a tooth that was sensitive to cold, and Dr. Kim did a wonderful job removing the old filling, sealed it and filled the tooth with a white filling. I have not had a problem with it since. I would definitely recommend Twin Sheep Dental and Dr. Kim.
I had 3 fillings done yesterday, feel fine today. Dr. Ng makes me feel safe and gets it done with almost no pain, has all the latest equipment. The techs are nice and either know or are being taught exactly what to do. I appreciated the combination of skill where it was needed and the ongoing training that will produce the next generation of skilled technicians. Everyone there seems supportive and kind and doing their best to allay anxieties and provide care and relief. I would recommend Dr. Ng to anyone and particularly to anyone who is scared of dentists.
This dentistry has always had outstanding care and service. Under its new professional and paraprofessional staffing, it continues to provide patients with high quality dental care that is highly recommended.
The Dental Hygienist Michael is very good. The outfit has 3 Doctors now. I saw Dr. Jain. I get the feeling he is very skilled. I will be seeing him early next month for actual work.They got me in and out efficiently. Every time I go I am meeting new people. Change is interesting sometimes.I recently had Dr Ng repair several fillings. She worked out a payment plan that I can live with. She is awesome!
Professional and caring. I had a tooth emergency and they got me right in even though I wasnt an existing patient. Dr. Ng immediately helped alleviate the pain and then talked through all the options and put a plan in place. I highly recommend Twin Sheep!
Dental Hygienist was super sweet, the office manager files any requests for insurance coverage for you, and the dentist was really clear in communicating, they thought I might need a crown but found they didnt so that also gave me the sense they had my health in mind not my wallet. Highly recommend!
Had an outstanding experience with this practice when I went for an emergency visit. I was very happy with the care I received from Dr. Rui and Dr. Ing, and was grateful for their knowledge, kindness, professionalism and attention. The rest of the staff was great, too. I wish all my medical experiences were like this.
Dr Ng and Dr Kim have been my dentists for years. Both are great problem solvers, and both have great personalities. For me, relaxation is important at a dentist. I feel at ease with both of them.
Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist to the assistants and of coarse the doctors, where very upbeat and attentive. I walked away with the feeling that My needs were thoroughly evaluated with the latest technology and personal professionalism available. I was kept abreast of what was going on the whole time. Dr Ng took out my wisdom tooth out! The numbing process was fast and smooth and extraction didnt hurt (just some sounds). The area was aching that day for one night, which calmed down with ibuprofen 600mg, and next day I felt fine. Thanks Dr Ng ;)
Good group of people, pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. I’m not by nature a lover of dentists but Twin Sheep is the exception. I highly recommend them.
I see Dr. Ng she’s wonderful I get worked up and I never ever feel a thing the whole staff is just great they are so careing I’ve never had a dentistlike her and her staff. Dr Ng is wonderful. Everyone in her office is friendly and seems to know their stuff. She has state of the art equipment and can do many things right in her office like make a crown. No matter how many times I have to go back for adjustments or questions she is always willing to help. Dentistry can be very expensive even with insurance, Dr. Ng is very fair and works with her patients.
The whole staff at Twin Sheep Dentistry was outstanding! They are up-to-date with equipment and knowledge, and it seems they genuinely care. The hygienist was thorough and provided education on caring for my sensitive gums. Dr. Ng was clear and helpful. She recommended, in my case a visual 3-D mouth scan of my teeth at no extra charge. The dental assistant who performed the scan was clear, competent and informative.I have total confidence in this dental practice.
THE WORST cleaning Ive ever had. NO mouthwash at any time, NO suction or rinsing during cleaning. I swallowed a lot of tartar that should have been suctioned out. I had to ask for water to rinse after the polishing. The hygienist was just going o leave all the junk and polish grit in my mouth!! Then I was given a tiny amount of water in a cup. Told to spit it back in the cup so they dont have to clean the equipment! My teeth are not anyway near as clean as my previous hygienist did. The difference is glaringly obvious.To topic off the dentist interrupted cleaning less than half way through. How do you do a proper exam when the teeth are not even cleaned yet? I am not a spring chicken and in many, many years, I have NEVER had this happen before. Then he tried talking me into unnecessary work with fear mongering about infections, etc. Skeptical because I know exactly what my teeth might need from my last dentist. Ignored my other medical concerns that might affect my dental work. When questioned, he then said I did not need an antibiotic and the teeth could just be kept an eye on. I said so I guess there wasnt really an infection and the work wasnt so urgent as he suggested? With that, he just turned and left the room. Over priced, padding bill with unnecessary fancy pics of teeth that do nothing but raise the bill. My insurance usually pays 100% but they refused a good part of this bill.
I have always been happy and impressed with their service and friendliness. Even though Ive moved out of town, I still plan to drive back for appointments. Ive come to this location for a cleaning. Per usual, the staff was friendly and my appointment was right on time. The dental hygienist and dentist were extremely cordial, encouraging, and clear in their work. My teeth are in great hands.
Dr. Ng is everything you would want in a dentist. Shes warm and kind which is vital in a dentist and she has what looks to be the latest technology in her office. She gives treatment options in a thorough way ready to advise but not to push you. The support staff is wonderful! I highly recommend!
I was nervous about going to a new dentist. I was very relaxed while Mike was cleaning my teeth. I never felt uncomfortable or even tense when he was cleaning and performing the new patient record. They are amazing!
I was wary when the practice changed hands but I have been happy with the new regime. It does feel a bit more geared toward moving people through but I cant complain about the service or the pricing. They were available on a weekend to address my concerns about a recent extraction, and took the time to properly diagnose some pain that I was having before taking action. That included drilling out a filling to find a cracked tooth (and abscess) underneath. Everyone is friendly and upbeat.
Great communication with the patient throughout the procedure. I had a very good understanding of what was being done and why (in contrast with other dentists I have seen). Caring, professional staff. Excellent office assistant.
Dr. Ng is excellent, and the staff is very capable. They are available as needed for an emergency, and are able to take care of problems with current technology so that it is as good as it can be .I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Mavis Ng is the best. Authentic and really think from the perspective of patients as well. Super helpful and competent. Ive lived in four major cities in the U.S., she is the best dentist, period.
Dr. Ng and the practitioners here are really professional and nice people. They are extremely patient with me, and answer all my questions. I went to have my wisdom teeth removed, but my CBCT scan was done 2 year ago (I did it in 2019 at their community corner office but I didnt really go forward with the extration until 2021), and they were very kind to offer me another CBCT scan as professional courtesy; it would have cost me close to two hundred dollars if they were to bill me. When I told Dr. Ng I had clickling sound at my jaw, they made me a night guard for free too. Dr. Ng is impeccable with her practice (I think I should mention somewhere in this review that she got her dental degree at Harvard); She and the practitioners, and I will say this again, are truly patient with me and my antics. I recommended this dentistry to several of my friends, and I would like to recommend it to you.

Disheartening transformation of office space! Previous lovely decor replaced with uniform grey, huge x-ray machine in waiting room! A 3-ring circus, staff running around. Bright spot was very congenial hygienist, although exam chair was uncomfortable. Exam by dentist seemed rushed.

More things went right than went wrong, but why oh WHY didnt I get the antibiotic prescription BEFORE the procedure? Have you ever sat in a pharmacy for 20 minutes as the Novocaine wears off? And then be told they dont have a prescription for you? And start to drive away but OH WAIT—they have it now! and sit in the car in a cold rain while Husband runs in to get it?

2022-01-10Had an awesome first visit at the dentists office, seriously... who says that?? ME! I was very nervous and anxious about seeing a new dentist. The office is super clean, staff is professional, and they have ultramodern equipment. Amanda at the front desk is a sweetheart. Michael was the hygenist that worked on both my teeth and my sons. He put us both at ease, was funny, gentle, and made us very comfortable. Dr. Kim was funny, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I will definitely be returning in 6 months and I highly recommend this office.

2022-02-15I was 100% happy with my visits to Twin Sheep Dentistry! Everyone is very welcoming and professional. Michael did my cleaning. He is amazing! Im somewhat sensitive when it comes to dental cleanings but Michael didnt hurt me once. And my teeth have never looked better after as cleaning. When I returned for a filling, the experience was equally wonderful! No pain whatsoever! I didnt even realize the shot to numb the area had been done. This office is fantastic! If you are looking for a new dental office I highly recommend Twin Sheep!

2022-01-11The new paint job is very nice, and I like what the new dentists have done with the office. I started having pain in one of my old fillings and Dr. Ng got me on the schedule right away. I have terrible dental anxiety. Dr Lian and his and hygienist were friendly and gentle and communicated well with me throughout the procedure. My mouth feels great today and I am very grateful for the excellent clinical skills and knowledge base that these dentists have. I am glad to be a part of their practice. I think the new color scheme is very nice- there’s nothing like a fresh start. I was a patient of the previous owner and I am very pleased to be a part of the future practice. Thank you to all, including Amanda. I dont enjoy having dental work, but you all have gained my trust. See you soon!

2022-08-04I am so happy and comfortable going to the dentist. I have my own assigned hygienist. Ive seen 3 of the Dentists and would trust them all. They would get 5 stars for sure if money were no object. The gap between cost and insurance reimbursement keeps getting more pronounced (sadly). I would recommend this practice.

2022-07-28These two dental offices are excellent. Medically up-to-the-minute, skillful personnel, efficient, without any attempts to promote fancy or unnecessary procedures. What I appreciate most of all is how the doctors and all the staff maintain a cooperative, collaborative environment that is cheerful and caring for the patient-- be that person as elderly as myself or as young as the child who came in with a broken tooth.

2022-03-30I thoroughly enjoyed having Dr. Catalfamo and her staff for my dental care so I was reluctant when the practice was sold to Twin Sheep. Thus far Im incredibly happy with the service though! Ive had cleanings and construction of a mouth guard. My daughter has had teeth extractions and cleanings. The staff and dentist are all pleasant and kind. With sensitive teeth I was offered a numbing gel for my gums before the cleaning and it made the world of difference. The practice seems very modern with technology and the latest best practices. Highly recommend.

2022-03-31I have not received service at this office, I called to request an appt. After letting me know that they are booking out into May, the receptionist disclosed that they do not accept any type of dental insurance. She said that they will submit a clam for you but that payment is expected at time of service and could be anywhere up to $450 depending on what is needed. I let her know that I would rather go to a place that takes my insurance. She was kind enough to suggest that I call the number on the back of my insurance to get a list of in-network providers to avoid having to make extra calls. I really appreciate that she was so nice. I also feel that it is good information to know up front.

2022-04-05Overall, I was impressed with the care I received here. The dentist actually explained what he was doing, the staff went over the costs with me and submitted my claim for me. Very friendly environment. Incredibly pleased with the care provided to me by my hygienist at my second appointment!My only disappointment is that they do not participate with any insurance companies.
