Just ordered through uber eats the food arrived earlier then expected that was the only good thing about my meal. The spice level and flavor were good mouth is still tingling from the spice. I ordered egusi with yam and was barely even given any egusi I was given 3 pieces of mixed meet one was to tough and loaded with fat mad it hard to chew and one was so rubbery and the other piece was just bone had not one piece of meat on it. I also got the jollof rice a huge portion of rice but then again barely 2 pieces of meat or sauce. The meat again loaded with fat could barely bite into it. To charger $18 a piece I would expect food quality worth it. Definitely a waste of my money.
My husband is from West Africa. When he opened the food and he looked at it. He said this is real African food. The spice was there but not much flavor for the rice and goat. Plantains and fufu were amazing. I did not have the soup we had some at home. Will try again.
I’ve had African food here or there but I never had jollof rice so I went to another restaurant and turns out they use seafood products in their rice. I was hoping that if I called this place to ask before I placed an order so that I could finally have it for the first time without dying but that was not the case. The person on the phone just tried to rush me to order and when I finally asked I was met with silence, a click, then the sound of the phone hanging up. I hope whoever that was goes to hell 😭.
Good food but not on the same level as Brooklyn restaurants but there’s only so many Naija food offerings in the area. Two stars for their tendency to rip off customers by reducing or stretching portions. I could care less about professionalism (smile/greeting blah blah) but when you reduce my portions (and tie the bag so tight that the customer doesn’t attempt to rip the bag and check the contents onsite) that’s when we have an issue. Noticed this with their egusi, efo riro and other platters over the past year. But the latest incident was really blatant. I tried the pepper soup and liked it. I came back a day later and ordered two. They clearly divided 1 container into two. Charged the price of two. See picture. Just make sure to check your food before leaving (even if the plastic bag is tied with a Gordian knot).Edit: Owner response to my review acknowledging they purposefully reduced portions and claimed it was due to customer survey. So that survey result was implemented between the day I bought the first order of pepper soup and the two bowls order a day later? Chai! There is God ooo *Patience Jonathan voice* It is well. But at least people are able to see I wasn’t lying.
After opening my meals when I got home, I was surprised at finding ONLY 1 chicken wing, 1 chicken back bone, and gizzards-ABSOLUTELY NOT MEAT!!!! This for the price of $15 ??? The fried rice was too firm, dry, lacked flavor, and was completely cold! Being that this was my first experience at Two Brothers, I inquired how the meal was portioned, specifically if the meal came with vegetable. I was told yes. The woman at the counter was completely unfriendly and unwelcoming by her action of placing her head down on the table as if I took too long to give her my order. I asked if she had chicken in a gravy- her response was: Miss, this is a Nigirian restuarant, we dont cook in gravy. This is a completely inaccurate statement! Im so disgusted that I threw out my meal after 1 bite. Im upset because I traveled far to try it. What a horrible experience!!!
Drove 45 mins to try this restaurant. The staff was very nice. The food was hot and fresh. If you dont like SPICY, you may want to let them know before ordering. I ordered Orka w/ cow foot. The cowfoot was a bit overcooked -extremely rubbery. We also order Equsi Soup w/ pounded Yam-(FUFU) goat, we got small piece of goat and huge piece of tripe. So we ordered another Equsi w/ beef, and that was amazing. The beans w/ plantains were excellent. Now w/ Covid-19, we could not sit inside. Cant wait to go back! My lips are still tingling due to the spiciness of the dishes- 4 hours later! YUMMY!
My husband and I ordered a meal from this place yesterday and was very dissatisfied. We ordered egusi and I specified Fish only as my husband and I havent eaten red meat in years. We received the food and began to eat, wasnt really impressed because it was not as flavorful as we have become accustomed to. We continued anyway, as we moved a piece of fish we found little pieces of tripe, we were both disgusted we threw the $49 meal in the trash. We both had to relieve our stomachs of its contents last night. As Black people we take great pleasure and pride in supporting Black owned businesses, but Black owned businesses should respect and support their patrons as well. You might think its a minuscule issue but it showed a lack of respect for our choices, by the way I spoke to a lady on the phone before ordering and she assured me that my request would be honored. Next time I will make my own egusi like I have been doing for years. Im Black american and have learned to cook and enjoy these dishes for years. This is so sad, if we cannot respect each othet, how can we expect others to respect us.#NEVERAGAIN!
Never again! My son and I wanted some african food. We are not african. Big mistake! Horrible, horrible customer service. Mixed meats should be called mixed bones. I spent $35 for rice fufu and moi moi. Nothing else was edible! You try to support your local businesses.......just disgusted!
The food is very authentic and tasty compared to other African restaurants. It is very small and the cashier was very friendly. However, it is too noisy. They need to decide between the TV show, another TV playing music and then another music box. They play 3, which makes dining in very annoying.
Two brothers African cuisine is a 5 star in every sense of the word!my visit was very satisfying and eventful..they serve the best African cuisine and delicacies which is rare to come by in queens New York..i will recommend every one to have a taste of the best African experience...
Authentic West African food, Jollof, waakye, fufu, banku, kenkey, pounded yam, these are all home grown, it’s not easy to get what you grew up on, this place at least allows you to reminisce, the only thing I would say about the actual spot is they need to work on ventilation cos you smell like the food you just ate, love the location and the food and the service, I have 0 negatives about this establishment

2022-03-27Visiting from Delaware and thought I’d try some food from this spot ! It was terrible. This was the hardest meat I’ve ever had in my life. It was inedible and It taste sour. After two bites my sister and I lost our appetites and decided we would rather go out and find something a little safer to eat. In the pic a piece of the meat looks like the strip left over from a Brazilian wax. Why would you ever think its ok to serve this. This was no where near worth the $20 per platter we spent with your restaurant. Taste 0/10, quality 0/10 . Wouldn’t recommend!

2021-12-30Best African food I have tried in Queens. The portions are large and the food taste really good and traditional. The staff are amazing especially Hama (or Hana?) she is amazing, very professional and kind. They use Uber Eats and the delivery is great! This is the vegetable soup. I am excited to try other meals.

2021-10-24I was very excited to try this food but was very very disappointed. It’s not what I expected at all.It looks so good but it was too oily and the meat was very tough, I was unable to chew it. The spice was good enough.

2022-06-23Before i ordered my food i called the restaurant to find out if they make egusi soup without meat and i was told yes, when i got to the restaurant i asked if they prepared it separate from the meat or is everything mixed together, the lady told me she prepared my food separate because I ordered with no meat only to come home and find pieces of meat in my food so i did not even eat it. She lied just to make a sale which is very disgusting. I don’t eat meat, i could’ve been allergic etc. you could kill someone giving them something to eat their not supposed too. This was my first time trying African Food and it definitely was not the experience I imagined having. What was done was very unprofessional and shows the lack of respect for customers choices. I Spent $48 in this restaurant and it was a complete waste. Also my family did not like the food. The food had no taste, no flavor! Very dissatisfied and disappointed.
