I rented a U-Box from this location. The customer service I was provided from start to finish was wonderful. When I returned the U-Box on Sunday for storage, two employees in particular Dylan and Cullen were instrumental in assisting me with backing it into the bay. Even though I arrived very close to closing time, they were both helpful, professional and courteous throughout the transaction.
Where to start on this mess....rented a car-hauler from this location and was quoted $79...when I picked it up they charged me $99. Then rented a 26 truck....they quoted me $500 and when we picked it up they charged me $700 but this nightmare doesnt begin the end here. The truck they rented me had a rip in the top corner and you could see daylight through the hole. This was noticed when the truck was 3/4 loaded and it started pouring outside. I immediately called the store (Union rd Orchard Park) at 1PM and nobody called me back. I spoke with Customer Service at the 800 number and they connected me to the store (they also left a message for the mgr) and still no reply.Our Dining room table was ruined as the rain water warped the table. We filed an insurance claim almost a month ago and the last we heard back was we are waiting for a response from U-Haul.Can I rate them 0 stars? If I could I would!Mike CarducciElma, NY
I have never dealt with such incompetent customer service before. I dont even know where to start. I have a U-Box in storage that Im trying to ship, and when I talked on the phone to someone and gave him my card payment info, I thought it would be pretty straightforward (this was a new card, but I assumed that talking to someone and giving him the card info only needed to happen once.) Apparently they still have my old card on file and no record of the new payment info. Apparently, also, only a manager can take my payment info. I have been on the phone with countless employees, none of whom can take my payment for the shipping of my U-Box. Why is this company so unorganized and unskilled? Why is taking a payment so difficult? Why is it so difficult to save someones new payment information? Rest assured, this is THE LAST TIME Im ever going through this frustrating company. Congrats U-Haul, youve lost a could-have-been loyal customer.
I ordered a hitch for my SUV and set up a appointment to have it installed about a week and half later. After driving almost an hour I dropped off my SUV at the scheduled time. An hour later they called and said the hitch wasnt there and I should pick up my car. When I got back to U-Haul, I was told the hitch would be there next week and I should make another appointment. I told the manager I would not make another appointment until the hitch was there (I explained again that I live almost an hour away). After trying to call the local dealer 10 times (no answer), I called the national call center. I told them what had happened and they checked on the status of the hitch. It was then that I realized they had ordered the wrong hitch. The call center ordered the correct hitch and set up an appointment for the installation. The local U-Haul changed the appointment for 3 days later. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that Yes you have an appointment, but we dont have the hitch. I said you have got to be kidding me, you know from last time I live an hour away, why didnt you call? The manager shrugged his shoulders and said sorry.
I wish you could give negative stars to a place! I was in town visiting family and called to have a hitch put on my jeep. I was told that there were two appointments available and to bring it right in. When I got to uhaul the manager and an employee were sitting behind the counter chatting and the service bay door was open and the bay was empty. When I told them why I was there they informed me that they had just called to tell me that they were over booked and left a message with a gentleman. Oddly they didnt call either of the numbers I left and no one spoke with them. I had explained that I was in town for the day and that the nearest UHAUL to us is over an hour away. Despite this they flat out refused to do the work and were rather nasty about it. I attempted to call and file a formal complaint and Uhaul informed me the manager had logged that I CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT, they then proceeded to give me a major run around. I was promised they would find someone who would take care of it that day and then was bounced from number to number. NO ONE would actually do anything!! I was finally promised that I would get a call in a few days to address the complete lack of customer service and oddly its been a week and Im still waiting. The only person I heard from was the manager who indicated that they could service my vehicle in a few weeks. AS IF Id actually go back there and give that branch any money.
I went to Uhaul to purchase boxes for a move. BOTH times I went in, there was more than one employee working (men) and they watched me struggle to carry out the $25 worth of boxes I bought. The first time I had my children with me, the second time I went alone. I was clearly struggling and not once person asked if I needed help, or offered to hold the door for me. What happened to gentleman? Or just basic customer service? The guy in the Google picture was working when I was there today, Im assuming hes a manager. Ill never go back.
Dont try and call cause they never answer. Every few months I get an email that I am past due and that they are charging me $15 a day even though I am on automatic payments. They always say it is because my card declined and miraculously when I call and complain it goes through...I cannot wait to get my stuff out and never have to deal with these people again.
I rented a truck to be picked up at 7:30 pm via mobile (uhaul 24/7) - when I got there, the mobile app said to come back in the morning at 7:00am for my truck. They were already closed, so I called the 800 number. I waited 40 minutes on hold to find out that the store apparently didnt prepare my truck for pickup, and there was nothing I could do to get one until the next day.
I went there in the spring to get a truck on a Saturday and the manager her told me there were no trucks available. So I called the 800 number and reserved a smaller truck I went to go get it and they rented it so I called uhaul 800 number and got a reservation and conformation number I go there the female worker for so enraged that I called uhaul she called the police and made up some mad crap that harassed her big lie I called corporate and they assured me icanget a truck the next day and on top of all the bull carp corporate said they had many trucks and didnt understand what was going on so if I can give them a minus 5 stars I would dont do a walk in bad people
Customer service was outstanding, you can tell the employees care about what they are doing. Moving is stressful and there can be set backs but they did everything they needed to to make sure we had an overall excellent experience. Thank you Cody and Brenda for your help!

2022-03-29Made a reservation 3 days in advance for their largest truck for moving my home. When i got there I found that they had reserved a truck two sizes smaller. I had to make multiple trips across town, use more gas, and waste more time. Was never notified that I wasnt getting the truck I reserved. In fact the website said it was guaranteed. Place is a joke. Rent your moving equipment ANYWHERE else.

2022-07-24Never ever get this, they will change locations on you after overbooking which costed me 50-100$ more. The are ridiculous, rude and do not care about your time and energy. Their truck almost did not start up more than half the time. Its non responsive and i swear they design their engines to be not fuel efficient

2022-02-22I had a very bad experience buying a truck in u-haul. The first time I flew to Spokane, WA to buy a truck - it was available on the website, there were several pieces in stock, the main office also confirmed the availability by phone, it was impossible to get through to the office! Having spent $1100 for 2 tickets with a friend and a whole day, we arrived and as a result the trucks were in reserve before us. We couldnt buy and had to fly back. Two weeks later I found a truck in Baffalo, NY. I watched 5 trucks with a rating of 4 in 3 offices and the description is a cool truck. Of the 5 pieces, one JH 3656m was the best in office 3120 Orchard PARk Rd. Bought it and went to LA. My trip turned out to be a nightmare for me: the truck turned out to be junk on the technical side, although the u-haul ratings were 4 in all respects. My truck could not go straight, if you let go of the steering wheel - it takes it to the left. I burned out the starter, ate lasted until the service. My automatic transmission leaked. I got a hum on the go from the front of the truck. We were scared to go and I was afraid for my safety. Ate lasted and I am in a depressed state from such that sells yuhol with a score of 4 points. I would not recommend anyone to buy an old yhole truck and am considering going to a lawyer to sue the yhole company for exposing my life to safety.

2021-10-09Place is a joke, made a reservation for 8 am and after store hours place was closed they changed my reservation time for 3pm. The manger Alex was no help, didn’t really care to help me or explain anything. While they had 12 trucks sitting on the lot. Like I I was bothering him? And still they put a hold on my card. Poor service. Poor customer service

2020-08-14Absolutely Horrible!I booked a reservation more than one month ago and found out the day before that I would need to drive to a different location to pick up my trailer. The new location was more than an hour and a half away.After spending more than 3 hours in the car to pick up my trailer, I drove by the original location to find they had two of my trailers sitting in their lot. When I ask them about it, they told me someone else had reserved those trailers.I tried to raise the issue to their customer service team and they didnt seem too concerned about the situation - telling me theyre confident the schedulers did the best they could.Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this business - unless you like doing business with a company who drops the ball at the last minute.

2020-10-16I had nothing but great experiences with this location. Jarrod and Brenda were extremely helpful from buying boxes to pack all the way up to renting the truck to move. Their customer service was amazing and their friendliness was really a shining light in a complex and chaotic move. I will be returning any time I have storage or moving needs.

2020-11-15I have rented trailers as well as purchased moving supplies from this location a number of times. Andy was tremendous with his customer service. It was easy to book, receive and drop off and they helped make sure I had no issues. I would highly recommend this business. Kevin

2021-06-24The worst, I only rented the truck for 2 hours and I was billed for 6 hours. I put gas into the truck to return it with a full tank. The customer service is deplorable, 3emoyees in the store and having to wait forever to deal with a representative in the store is inexcusable. Also, I see after being ripped off that there is yet another pending charge on my card. Just absolute scumbags, I strongly do not recommend using this UHaul location.

2018-05-25They have very good collection of inventory and store manager is one of the best solutions provider. I was there for hitch installation on my Jeep and due to some technical glitches it took more than expected time. I had some urgent appointment to fulfill, Manager was so courteous, he gave me Van to commute and waived off the installation charges even after my denial of waiving off the money.
