I made a I reservation with uhaul on Tuesday afternoon for Saturday for a 20foot box truck I come the staff was rude about it and told me they only have 10foot box truck available that doesn’t help my situation when I rsvp for a big box truck don’t waste your time at this uhaul. They had keys lost so that was there reason
Terrible service. I had a reservation and my truck was given away. So then it took us 20 minutes to leave the UHaul and the waiting time was A PART OF OUR RESERVATION? So I had to PAY because of the delay. Unacceptable. The delay made me have to extend my movers for a couple hundred dollars and UHaul refused to offer any kind of compensation. Consider this the last time I ever book a UHaul. I would post zero stars if I could
Mobile pickup is incredibly flawed. Myself and another patron were both given the same truck, and the information is in accurate and then you are required to go wait in line anyways, it took much longer and lost about an hour of my day in the morning. Truck was dirty with used masks and a lot of rubber debris in the cab. When returning I was told I was arbitrarily charged for 4 moving blanket packs when I only received. So yet again I needed to go inside and speak with someone at the counter. There were 2 people ahead of me and it took 45 minutes to get to the counter. Once I finally got to the counter, the person helping did not know how to fix the problem, so I had to wait for the other representative to help. This took another 30 minutes to fix.Overall Uhaul needs to greatly improved their mobile pickup, they need to fully train their employees and emphasize that it is absolutely unacceptable for a customer to spend 2 hours of their day dealing with incompetence.
I needed to move some stuff that I have so I went online to their website and reserved a small truck. The day came and I went with a couple of friends to the U-haul location, the lady was really nice, we waited like 3 minutes because there was a person in front of us. They have this contactless system that sents you a text with a link that takes you to a page where you can take a picture of your license and send it to them. After that they told us the location of the truck in the parking lot which have letters on the ground to make the job easier. The truck was clean and in great condition when I finished moving my stuff the return process was as smooth and quick as the begining. My experience with them was great, they make the process of renting a truck super easy.
I should have a worse review since the 5 or so times that Ive been here to access my Ubox, it wasnt out and they had no record that I had requested that it be taken out. But this last time, I had lost my key and I had amazing service trying to get the lock off, as well as great service getting a small storage unit for some overflow. Some very nice people in what seems to be a laid back group of employees.
I had a pretty smooth experience picking up my truck. The instore employees were great. The truck ran well and gave me no issues. My problems came afterwards. I received a street sweeping ticket with the truck and paid the ticket inside the uhaul store when I returned the truck. Months later I received an unpaid ticket letter and a fine for the street sweeping ticket. I called Uhaul take care of this and they refused. Uhaul never paid the ticket, stole my money and then I was forced to pay the ticket and the fine from my pocket. Dont trust Uhaul, they are shady.
I cant express more disappointment than what I got from this location. I even sent the manager, Jerry, a full letter with a description of my experience but he didnt even both to respond to me. I have passed my full write up to U-Haul, hoping they will address the several issues. As I have seen from other posts here, its clear that the team here has no training on customer management or professionalism. I dont write negative reviews a lot, but I wish I could post multiple times on this so someone finally takes notice. This U-Haul location was more interested in risky my health and safety than actually thinking about the customer. Quite a shame.
Absolutely terrible. Made a reservation for four days, show up and they dont have the truck we reserved. The manager, Jerry, was absolutely useless in resolving the issue and created an extremely stressful situation that could have been avoided. I will never use U-Haul ever again because they cannot be trusted to honor their commitments and will let everyone I know to do the same. And I would bet money any positive reviews are fake.
The worst customer service experience ever. This is more so against the U-Haul the company itself. Booked a one way trailer a month ago. Night before get a text confirming booking but location has changed from 5mins away to a 2hr round trip and $30 in tolls. Went to this location to pick it up to be told after 2+ hours of waiting that they dont have it. 4hrs in total and no trailer. Have hired help to move and cleaner but have no way to move out. Checking online appears that it is common practice for Uhaul to a) overbook by up to 50% if not more and b) change pickup location by up to 40miles with little notification or compensation. I understand that a lot of people are moving out of the city but this is just pure greed. Guaranteed Reservation - bullsh@t. Fyi - there is a class action suit against Uhaul for these very practices.
This location does not answer the phone. I made an online order for moving supplies and self-pick up. My move date changed and I have to change the date of pick up. Ive tried calling for 3 days straight, sat on hold for 30 minutes each time, was transferred to another state, sent a chat request through their website 3 times and after all of this I still havent gotten in touch with a representative at this location. Someone needs to re-evaluate management at this location. Moving is stressful enough and paying customers shouldnt have their personal time wasted for lack of customer service.
Made reservation..found truck ,did the online check in, when I was instructed to go to counter to get the key, they couldnt find the key and said they didnt have any more rentals, left location and came back 30min later and they had rented the truck I reserved.. horrible experience
I have had such an issue dealing with this branch, and the corporate UHaul in general.Im not someone to post negative reviews, or complain but I went in with a reservation for an out of town trip, but they did not communicate with me that they gave me an intown contract. I did not realize until after I got home, 150 miles away that they expected me to return to the bronx.They slapped me with a $300 wrong destination fee!And dealing with the phone system is insane. They bounce me back and forth. And it feels like theres the hope that Ill give up.
We use storage services here. The prices are ok, though they do seem to inch up every year. It is clean and safe. Theyre pretty flexible, weve changed room sizes twice and they were able to accommodate us pretty easily. The service people here are fine, some are better than others but we havent really dealt with anyone terrible. No real complaints.
The young man who received my rental truck was very helpful and friendly! He gave me directions to the subway and explained where to go to return a couple items I purchased at another U-Haul location.The man who helped me with my item return was pleasant, helpful, etc.Overall, I nice experience after a couple long days of moving in the NYC area!
Very unhappy with the customer service at this branch... Ive rented a few trucks from here, incident free. I rented a 17 ft truck, drove it 9 miles, and returned it, only to find that they claim that I drove the truck nearly 70 miles! I told the employee at the desk that there must be a mistake, and they basically told to me pay my bill or be forever banned from renting a Uhaul again. I spoke with the general manager Jerry the next day, and he basically said all of their records indicate that I drove the truck 70 miles. Without any photographic evidence of the odometer on the truck, I was forced to pay $120 in overage mileage, because Uhaul did not properly log the mileage of their vehicles. Never renting from this store again. Make sure you document everything here, because they will treat you like a lying criminal if you have any issues.
I reserved a u-haul and a hand truck. I get there and was told that there is no more hand trucks available. Asked why is that if I reserved it. The lady at the register stated with attitude its first come first serve and I could buy a dolly for 20 dollars. I made a complaint to only have the supervisor call me and tell me that he is surprised because that is one of his best workers and next time I rent to call him and he will make sure there will be a hand truck available. Trust me there wont be a next time..
The worst company Ive ever seen! I rented a truck and from the beginning I told him that I had trouble starting and he told me that nothing happens, after 5 miles the truck stops in the middle of a gas station and does not want to take the change, they sent a mechanic who did nothing, After 2 hours standing in the middle they sent a crane, I left the truck where I rented it, loaded with everything and at 1PM the next day they still didnt give me a response from the truck to pick up my merchandise. everyone you talk to is hateful, they hang up your phone, manager Jerry the worst of all, has no handling. My worst experience with a service company
False advertising and a deal that is supposed to help customers have assurance that they will receive one the best customer service and two their products on time. Both failed! Jerry Butler needs training on and then needs to train his staff. Or they need to hire all new staff because how can you dispute something that is clearly on your company website and then that is 100% their fault. I’m highly upset and will never again be using uhual what a disgusting experience.
My mother stood in line for 2.5 hours in total to close out account. No excuse for disorganized customer serice to that level. Find somewhere else less expensive.P.s. kept her waiting for 2 hours brefore they told her she cannot get out of contact. She always called and asked permission to do so and we already took all her contents out! So unethical.Positive reviews have to be fake so be carefyl.
Terrible!!! Made a reservation for 8am in Yonkers for a trailer, got to the location on time just to find out there is no trailer there then had to go all the way to the Riverdale without any notice beforehand. Was late to what I actually needed the trailer for. Never signed a single paper, was not helped with attaching the trailer to the vehicle, no employees looked over the trailer with me for damages, was not given any instructions regarding returning the trailer; returned the trailer to the original location where I actually reserved it and was charged $350 for returning it to the wrong location. Been a Uhaul customer for 15+ years and will never give them another dollar. Absolutely horrible, customer service is even worse, when I called to question the UNAUTHORIZED $350 charge to my account I was told they were going to look into it and call me back which never happened but they decided to charge an additional $27. STAY AWAY!!!!!
Jerry , mariah and yardsmen were very unprofessional and wasted my time and money. Are they there to work ?or waste customer time and then charge extra fees for ridiculous reasons. Why no gloves when touching my towing equipment and rental agreement.?They should Clean the trailer before they rent it out and make sure the reservations are accurate instead of wasting my time and money
I found U-Haul Riverdale to have exceptional customer service. The representatives on duty were professional, courteous, helpful and attentive. In particular, I would like to commend Harjit Perez on his excellent customer service. He was extremely knowledgeable about U-Hauls services and what I would need concerning them. I had a fire in home and most of my belongings, including most of my furniture, were unscathed by fire and smoke. Upon listening to my situation, Mr. Perez informed me that I would probably need a large storage space and a smaller one to fit my needs. He was absolutely right!!!Mr. Perez conducted himself in a professional, helpful and courteous manner throughout my business dealings with U-Haul and I am very glad that he was the U-Haul representative that handled my reservation and storage needs.
This may be the best U-Haul shop that I have ever been to. Over the years I have rented trucks and bought boxes/moving supplies from several U-Haul (and competitors) locations. This one is by far the best: the shop is separate from the hulking storage building and has a good amount of parking within the fenced-in area, and plenty of parking towards the storage building. The shop is clean and well-stocked; I was able to buy all of the boxes, tape, foam, bags, and other items I needed for a recent move. The staff was helpful and I never waited more than a few minutes for service. They brought the items out to my car, and best of all, they refund any unused boxes at the end of your move. The storage rates seem comparable to others in the area.
Annoying and unprofessional. Storage unit was closed out. Two months later I receive calls and emails stating I owe a balance with a lien. The day I moved out, let the front desk know was leaving the state and even left the lock with them. The girl at the front was so misinformed and improperly trained, she did not close out the storage unit completely. Whenever I call to speak with manager Luis Hernandez, he is never available and never return calls. Whenever I do get a call, its from a front desk agent who hears the same story I always tell, they say theyll fix it, yet I still receive calls from OTHER agents trying to collect.
Great customer service. I rented a Pickup Truck and returned it late evening. Next day I noticed I forgot my sunglasses in the truck. I called first thing in the morning. They found the shades and held them for me for another day. All I can say was WOW! They were very honest. The shades were very expensive.
BAD BAD BAD!! We reserved a trailer and last minute I receive a phone call that they moved my pickup date... huh? Oh so because YOU cant keep your stock organized and cant run your business I have to suffer. Why did I reserve this in the 1st place and give you my credit card information, not to mention that I have a locker rented there (another horror story). Dont mind that I have a personal life and could have possibly scheduled movers, made arrangements with family and for hotels along the way. This is not my 1st rodeo and I know how to plan. Maybe I was organized and planned ahead, you didnt and its not my fault but now it IS my problem. You have cost me money, and are wasting my valuable time.I speak with customer service and they tell me they cant even give me a date and time when a trailer will be there...? I just spent $400 having a hitch installed so I could pull one of your trailers. Again, why did I reserve this again?
I’m very disappointed I was charged way to much for a mistake that they made I reserved a 20” truck and when I got there they had four of them and they gave me a 17” truck without even telling they thought I was not gonna tell the difference but I did and I went back inside and asked why I was given a 17” and not a 20” and I was told that all 4 trucks were reserved already and like I said I had a reservation and because of the difference in the size I had to do 2 trips which made me come 2 hours late and of course they charged me for 2 days even though I used it for only 14 hours and the extra miles that I had to do because of their mistake so instead of paying 250 I was charged 500 which is not fair at all....... never again
Great customer service, I receive information specifically with regards ton size, location of storage hours of operation. Nellia help me , walk me to the elevator show me how to use my card. She was very nice to show me the map and explain the fees if I choose a lower level. Thank you for providing great customer service.
The Cargo Van was clean ,however the service lite was on ,van needed oil change ,there was only one person ,waiting on customer ,she was very knowledgeable, however she needs help i think what they charge for the mileage are too high 1.75 a mile , the check back in was not bad ,in and emergency i may or may not use them ,they are ok for trailer but not for all needs ,i have use them since 2017 , i think Enterprise gives a better deal for vehicle renting !!
This place engenders suicidal tendencies. There were about 10 people in line ahead of me when I got there. After 30 minutes of waiting, there were eight people ahead of me. Listless, I began wandering around the store while waiting for my turn. I peaked my head in the general managers office and I was immediately horrified to see an enormous US Army special forces poster; its inconceivable to me that anyone who leads the U-haul Moving and Storage team could possibly have passed Army Ranger school. I can only assume he was new.The guy in front of me had his eight year old daughter with him; at one point she shouted this place is so slow Im going to die. We got there with copies of our reservation printed out and it still took them about ten minutes to locate our reservation in the system. At that point she radioed out to someone to try and locate the trailer we rented. He didnt answer. That took ten minutes more. We finally got it and none of the straps we needed were included. No one had thought to mention that to us while we were in line. If you need to go here, bring camping supplies and xanax.
I am disgusted with Uhauls customer service. I have called everyday this week to ensure that I would have a truck per my reservation, which I made June 14 th (Order number: 29315494) and was told by multiple representatives that my vehicle would be assigned to a location two days prior to my scheduled pick-up date. Not hearing from them Yesterday or today (I move tomorrow), I called to see where my vehicle was assigned. Apparently, it wasnt assigned to any location because they did not have inventory for one-way rentals. Are you kidding me! You expect me to waiste five hours of my time to return the truck to the location I picked it up at? When was I going to receive notification of this? I move tomorrow, I called at 2:00PM (6/29/2016 and move 6/30/2016) I was supposed to pick up the truck in less than 18 hours. ON TOP OF THAT! ONE OF YOUR MANAGERS CANCELLED MY ORDER BEFORE I TOLD HER I WAS GOING TO CANCEL. Thank God I was able to find a cargo van to rent the day before my move from another company.Not only will I never attempt to rent any vehicle from this company again, I will also make sure that none of my friends or family attempt to rent your products. As if moving isnt even stressful enough, then I cant even depend on a truck rental company to provide me a service that I had given them my credit card information to reserve. EXTREMELY DISPLEASED AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO LET OTHERS KNOW!
Staff was not able to honor and provide the moving equipment that was reserved online a week in advance. I was informed on the day of move that hand trucks and dollies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. It was not helpful to learn of this policy on the day of the move. De-icing and snow removal on the truck was very poorly done with lots of ice and snow left on the windshield and on top of the truck. Large chunks of ice went flying off the top of the truck on the highway endangering other motorists.
Recently I rented U haul 15 truck from U haul riverdale (address:230 W 230th St, Bronx, NY 10463) on 10/5/2017 3pm & return on U haul Mohegan lake on 10/5/2017 1pm (address:-3121 E Main St, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547) I inspected the vehicle, when I return which is there is no damage & hand over key at desk person. One day after (10/6/17 @11am) I received call from this guy says, there is bend on driver side roof. I dont know why?? I drove this truck to my home & for my knowledge there is no hit involved. First I receive e receipt says there is no pending charge. Few hours later I receive another one says $505.91, & u haul charge on my card. Still I confused. I took safemove insurance too. I returned the vehicle on 10/5 not 10/6. Why he give the inspection report one day later?? Is it happen after I park there? ???????Take time & check your vehicle at riverdale location. Especially roof.😡
Worst ever. They couldnt even tell me the dimensions in units. When asked what the smallest storage area is they said 4 x 4 and I asked in what unit? 15 mins later they still jag no idea! And the girl that I spoke to on the phone just kept repeating the same thing. Do they even speak English over there. Was told to speak to the GM Dominique. How do these people even get jobs???????
THIS PLACE REALLY SUCK BIG TIME THE MANAGEMENT IS F- UP AND NON RESPONSIVE TO ANY CONCERNS. THIS IS THE WORSE U-HAUL COMPANY THAT EXIST- CUSTOMER SERVICE 800 NUMBER DOES NOTHING WHEN YOU CALL THEM TO COMPLAIN AND NEVER FOLLOW UP WITH YOU- but when it comes to getting your payment each month everyone follows up about the money- JUST SO ANNOYING SO PLEASE SAY AWAY.

2022-04-11Rented out a truck in the month of March. The staff there was very polite and helpful. The facility and grounds were kept very clean. Prices on Boxes and Bubble Wrap were noticeably cheaper than Home Depot. I also was able to rent the truck out quickly and complete the return of the truck quickly as well. Truck was in very good shape and very clean. Overall very good and convenient experience.

2022-04-03Its a pretty decent storage. The only issue at this location is that theres always issues with the elevators. One is always not working. But my husband got electrocuted by one of the elevator call button. Extremely dangers. Normally its a small shock but the time we were there with our kids he got electrocuted really bad. It was very painful. Thankfully it wasnt our kids or god knows what would of happened.

2022-06-11Will never use this U-Haul location again. Ive used other U-Hauls several times over the past year and was very pleased. The Riverdale U-Haul has a poor system which required me to get assistance. When I received assistance it seemed like all would work but they overcharged me. I went through their process to provide feedback and it didnt work. The only way to provide feedback was to call and Im not willing to stay on hold for 30 minutes.

2021-01-22Good, quick service when I arrived at this location. Staff was friendly & courteous. Truck was clean & had half a tank of gas in it. Youre required to bring it back the same as you received it. The Truck was exactly what we needed but the engine was loud. The ride is bumpy too. Ive rented better & newer trucks in the past from this same Uhaul though. You should ask but it may be luck of the draw & what they currently have in stock as these trucks get moved (no pun intended) around a lot and arrive from different locations I believe. You have to rent the dollies & handtrucks separately though they do provide the moving blankets free of charge

2019-08-16U-Hauls roof leaks -- management knows and doesnt care.My wife and I stored our belongings at this location for a few months while we renovated our apartment. At some point during our contract, rusty sludge poured out of U-Hauls ceiling directly into our unit, causing over $2,000 of damage to our stuff.Were covered by our homeowners insurance policy, but we shouldnt have to pay our deductible AND a higher premium because U-Haul is too negligent to maintain their roof.Management is refusing to accept responsibility for the damage and wont reimburse us. Their official response: We found no evidence of a leak. (They saw the photos attached to this review.)We dealt with Luis Hernandez, the general manager, and Joshua Buzi, a claims adjuster with Republic Western, U-Hauls insurer. Luis gave us the run around for a bit, then directed us to Joshua, who somehow opened, reviewed, and denied our claim before we even submitted our claim form. His explanation: U-Haul simply asked Rep West to not pay us.In short, the building is falling apart and the managers at this facility are shady, unaccountable, and incompetent. Stay away.

2021-08-01They give my storage away and then they wanted to pay more to get it back. I didnt give up my storage they made a mistake. Some workers are very helpful but mangers and cleaning staff have lots of issues. Just double check what they do in this uhaul. I have been a customer for years and never given a discount.

2021-06-15I spent upwards of 4-5 hours between calls and in person visits trying to secure what should have been a relatively easy request to no avail. Some customer service agents were lovely, some were awful but all of them gave incorrect and inconsistent information until we finally we gave up and moved to a different vendor.It is a shame, on the surface, this would have been ideal but I cannot recall a more frustrating experience with a company.I am a cautionary tale. Save yourself the headache and find a more responsive company.
