Renting from here was a horrible experience. When we arrived to pick up the truck this morning, the windshield was peeling off, and one of the side mirrors was completely missing! Obviously the truck would not be safe to drive, and probably not legal either.When we went to ask the attendant, all they could say was to call the haul 1-800 number and theres nothing they could do. Clearly this person didnt even attempt to look at the truck or check it before it was rented out, as they claimed to not know anything about the missing side mirror. In addition, their rudeness in this situation was totally unnecessary, as were supposed to be moving today and just trying to pick up a reasonably safe truck which we booked a week ago.Not sure what we are going to do now...
My boyfriend and I had a positive experience at this u-haul location and all because of John. This young man was reassuring polite and tactful- he even gave us directions! We were welcomed at the desk and handed the keys very quickly and the location is perfect for moving between manhattan and Brooklyn.
I was pressured to take the uhual with a very low pressured right back tire. I asked the attendant to fill it up or give me a different truck. He told me it was a faulty censor and the truck was fine and just told me to take it. After loading the truck up with furniture, the back right tire was visibly very low and I was very concerned with the tire blowing. On top of everything I was charged a $25 cleaning fee. There was no garbage in the vehicle, so I have no idea why i was charged this fee.
The uhaul facility is housed in a private parking garage and the uhaul representative shares duties between both jobs, which can be a bit problematic, as I witnessed. However, the gentleman who attended to us was very polite, laid back and a pleasure to work with.The van we rented was damaged on the exterior and that wasnt noted prior to handing the keys over to me and there werent as many moving furniture pads available as requested, but these were minor issues that werent discussed ahead of time and it was so laid back, it didnt matter.
Im moving cross country in 5 days. Made a reservation at Uhaul at least two months ago, scheduled movers, painters, etcToday, I called just to check and was told nope, we wont have a truck for you. So what is the point of a reservation?Uhaul HQ found us an alternative, but lucky we called today since this location didnt call, text or email to let us know that they werent going to have the truck.6th street location really let us down.
This was by far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. Booked truck one week earlier. Waited 1.5h and no body could give me the keys, while online sign in wasn’t working. I had to move today, and now I’m screwed.Worst worst worst customer experience. Do not use U-Haul

2021-10-30The person on charge was actually friendly and allowed us to bring back the van later at no cost when we called. (You should always reserve for 24h anyways, costs the same as e.g. 8h but they can’t charge you for bringing it back late after e.g. 10h)Pickup was not possible with 24/7 mobile pickup even though it was stated in the app that that was possible. Thus I don’t know if my reservation was actually reserving a truck or if I could have ended up without a truck when I had to move out on this day. This needs to be corrected and clarified.Also, the app allows to order dollies and furniture pads but nothing was available there. So if you ordered any, edit your order and remove them from your order before you pick up and you won’t be charged.Truck was fine and clean.

2021-05-31This location was extremely disorganized. The van was switched last minute after we had already signed the paperwork & checked for damages on the vehicle we had been assigned. A woman drove up to drop her van off and the U-Haul provider handed us the keys to this new van directly, with no cleaning in between. We asked him whether he was planning to clean the van so that we werent held liable for the condition and he said it is the customers responsibility to clean the vans. We werent able to do the normal check-in to confirm that we wouldnt be liable for any damage from the prior customer and we couldnt confirm the mileage/gas level was accounted for. When we returned the van, the same U-Haul provider told us he would have to charge us for cleaning that the woman before us left behind! We had to argue with him to avoid extra fees. We also were never provided blankets or dollies that we paid for but were still charged. Absolutely ABYSMAL experience.

2021-04-30I wish I could give this zero stars.This was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I had a reservation with through Uhaul to pick up a truck for moving. First off, the “24/7 online pickup feature” didn’t work. Second (and most important) they were out of trucks when I arrived. When asked how this situation could be fixed the manager told it was “not his problem” and there was nothing he could.This experience was so aggravating that I am going to attempt to get this dealer removed from the Uhaul network.Go here at your own risk.

2021-02-25NEVER EVER GO HERE. There is no Uhaul staff. One poor parking lot attendant has to help you complete the reservation process by the phone before you get keys. Super frustrating. The parking lot owners got greedy for extra business and its just frustration for everybody

2020-11-03Customer service experience total zero. I paid for dolly and plastic wrap. None was available once I got there. Still got charged. Attendant was not helpful and seemed like he wanted to something else with his life. 3 stars for the truck getting the job done. Thanks truck!

2017-10-05I rented a U-Haul and the whole process was pretty simple and easy. I lost my wallet during the move and called them to ask for some help finding it. The attendant who picked up the phone told me that the truck I had rented was indeed in their lot. He didnt offer any help and suggested that I come look myself. I dont think this is bad considering the service offered. It was rude though.

2018-08-03We had so many issues with this reservation. Our truck was supposed to be ready at 9am at Sherman Parking Management. When we arrived, the attendant pretty much ignored us and stalled, and then around 10am he admitted that the truck was missing from the night before. He should have told us that before we commuted over there. He was not helpful at all at helping us find an alternative. We had booked and paid for movers, so it sucks that we had to pay them to just sit there and do nothing since our uhaul reservation was so messed up. In the end we had to go to another U-Haul location.
