Great staff.Jeffrey & Joshua and Andrea super knowledeable.I hit the jack pot the. I think, I met the big-wig at store by chance. a real class act & gentleman named Will. He immediately set the tone. What a GREAT and nice person with how he treated me; and the kind & different style he spoke with his staff. I will reflect upon my meeting Will fondly. I really like the staff and those I mentioned. I am almost now a regular. Go to this store hands down.
Id give zero if I could. If you can find a trailer to rent some place else, do it. Uhaul is the worst company Ive ever dealt with.Reservation made and confirmed a week ago for a 4x8 trailer, one way to Maine. Pick up location Flushing, NY. The day before pickup I got an email telling the 4x8 was not available and a 5x8 would have to be picked up at their Jamaica location.I went there today to see where it was and to confirm. I was told it would be ready tomorrow as scheduled. Three hours later I received an email telling me to pick up in Flushing again.I called and was now told Id have to go to Baldwin, NY to pick it up. 15 miles and an hour away on local streets. Calling customer service, with confirmation number, etc. the person had no idea this was a one way move.Right now, the night before my scheduled pickup and early departure Saturday morning, for my 5 1/2 -6 hour drive to Maine, I have no idea, nor does uhaul, know what Im getting and where Im getting it. There is NO excuse for this. If there was any other way to move my things I would. They dont care.For any of you who watched Seinfeld this is the car reservation episode. Theyll take the reservation but they wont HOLD the reservation.
This is not a complaint directed at the Flushing Uhaul, in particular, but at Uhaul as a company (especially as it operates in NYC). As evident in the story below, it is a sprawling, ineffectual bureaucracy, with lousy internal communication and poor customer service. I offer the following as a warning to potential customers and as an encouragement to the company to improve.I originally reserved a 15 truck for pickup at the Park Slope, Brooklyn location (near where I live) on August 1. The day before my scheduled pickup, the company called to tell me there are trucks available at that location, and I would need to pick it up in Williamsburg. This was an inconvenience for me, but a manageable one; I asked the rep if there would definitely be a truck there. Yes, he replies. I arrived at W-Burg at 7:30am – there was no truck. According to the rep at that location, the guy didnt return it. He asked me to call the Uhaul traffic department. The dispatcher at that number instructed me to take an Uber to Woodside, Queens. I asked her three times – are you SURE there is a truck at this location, before I head all the way over there. Her response: Yes, there is DEFINITELY a truck. She also said Uhaul would reimburse me for the cost of the Uber. When I arrived there, there was NO truck. I waited in line for 45 minutes while one of the two women at the counter tried find another location where they could redirect me. One of them was unfriendly, and asked me to move out of the way so I can help these other customers. They also said they didnt know anything about reimbursing me for the Uber ride (and said that the traffic dispatcher should have done that.) One of the reps finally reached someone at Flushing, Queens Uhaul who said they had a truck at that location. She wrote down names of two employees there and said theyre good over there. At this point it was 9:00m, and I knew I was looking at an hour drive back to my neighborhood on the BQE to meet my movers (who I had scheduled for 8:30am). It was a stressful situation since my landlord had asked that I be moved out by 12pm. As I was about to leave Woodside in the Uber, I saw a woman who had been standing behind me in line getting into a 15 truck... which was rented to her! When I arrived at Flushing, the reps there AGAIN started saying there was no truck and seemed to have no idea who I was. To make matters worse, the guy in the line next to me had a story similar to mine and was saying I dont trust Uhaul anymore! I dont trust you guys while the rep was speaking to him, youre only making this worse. Eventually, they figured out they did have a truck for me. Despite the fact that I was now running two hours behind schedule, they made me wait five minutes while the rep called multiple phone numbers of people I knew until someone picked up in order to add a second name to the rental agreement. As with Woodside, the reps said they didnt know anything about reimbursing for the cost of the Uber rides. I didnt leave with a truck until around 9:50am, and didnt get home until 10:40am. My movers started two hours late, and I missed my landlords move-out deadline. When I called Uhaul the following day to receive some kind of compensation for all of this aggravation, I waited on the phone for 45 minutes (mostly on hold) and was shuffled around to three different reps. The customer service rep I spoke with said there was nothing in the notes about compensating me for the Uber rides, and said he would transfer me to a rep in the traffic department in NYC who, in turn, had no idea why I was transferred to him, and ultimately did nothing beyond what the customer service rep had already done. In the end, I received a $50 credit - which barely covered the cost of two of the three Uber trips I needed to take to rent the truck.
I would recommend this uhaul location to anyone. The people working inside the counters are ok, but the people working outside they rock. They explained how everything works on a trailer and asked if we had any questions at time of pick up. Same great experience when returning it. This is my second time first renting a truck and now a trailer and they were both positive experiences
I have reserve a truck on uhaul a specifically choose the place since its near me and what they did was they send an email to the night before I move which was 30 min away. Uhaul is not to be trusted I will not stop I will tweet and not stop to send this review to social media. U-Haul the work company to get a truck!
Terrible custom support and completely unprofessional, we were charged extra for the dolly inside the truck which we didn’t use, we had to argue with the person at the register that we hadn’t touched the dolly and they “double checked” again and said yes it was a mistake.

2022-07-12Rented a uhaul for 1 day and was forced to pay for a fee for additional day to because they wouldn’t allow me to drop off at a different location the following morning, although when i made the reservation i chose a different location than pick up for drop off. On top of that, I was charged $385 because they gave me a weekly rental and didn’t explain that when i picked up the truck. I reserved for 1 day. I only needed it for 100 miles max. However they’re stating i drove 190 miles and I only drove from queens to Suffolk county. When I called back to clarify they told me $132 was a hold and when i called back a week later they said it wasn’t being held that was part of the charge which totaled out to $385. Might i add the staff were very unprofessional when I called.

2021-12-12Had reservation for a trailer for a full day at 7:30 am.Waited in line for 1hr 15 min , after 15 min of verification was told trainer needs to be back at 1:30pm that same day beaches they rented it out at 3pm .Been renting U-Haul trailers for years at least 4-5 time per year and never was I so frustrated with the process

2021-08-06This place has been here forever. They are a regular U-haul place, not much special about it. The location is spacious. They do storage as well as truck rentals. My only issue is the staff, besides maybe one or two of them. They are miserable , as if they hate their jobs. The gentleman who cleaning the return vehicle also tried to over charge me extra for gas, stating the gas gauge was lighter than what I got it at(which was not true) and said I did a mile more than that I actually did. Are they that petty to try and swindle me for an extra $40. Smh. It was almost as if he was questioning my intelligence, as if I was just going say oh yea Ill pay these make believe fees without asking why... Clean house on the staff and this place will flourish

2021-07-22They didnt have the 20 foot truck which I needed in the first place & all they had at the moment were 10 foot because they were rented out. So Im giving them 5 Stars for the Staff which were friendly. Thanks U-Haul 👍

2021-10-21I have storage here I do not like this place they do not return the calls they have three different people telling you three different things they had the corporate office the manager and the big guy the assistant manager Ive explained my situation that I was evacuated out of my apartment it was completely condemned so on the 21st of the month I had to get a place really fast Ive asked them numerous times to please change it and dont charge me extra till the end of the month when I get my SSI Im currently homeless and I have all my proof on my phone I have everything and they refuse to work with me they want to charge me extra and they dont even want to call me when I get went into the office last month after being told one thing by the corporate office I was told another thing at the main office now Mr Wolf who is the district manager wont even talk to me its $150 for a little tiny space I had to get at the last minute it aint even really worth it but I have to pay it to say what little I have after everything was lost and Im afraid Im going to lose this cuz they dont want to work with me

2019-07-31Watch Out! I had a 12:30 appointment, but the manager told me appointments just reserve the part, not the order of service. leave your car and it will be done by the end of the day. I was told categorically by the UHaul Customer Service line that my appointment was an appointment time for service.I told the manager I didnt mind waiting longer, but I just couldnt stay until they closed and I asked if he could ballpark for me (are we talking 2 hours longer or 6 hours longer), he refused to do that telling me any time I give customers a time they get furious when it doesnt happen.Went out to Hitch King in Floral Park and they had me done in 40 minutes.
