Possibly the worst ulta location. The security guard glared me down and followed me around the entire store. While there was a ton of customer flow. Then there was barely any help. I needed product help and the staff was practically useless. Never had this experience at ulta before. So disappointed.
Do notttt shop here if you are BLACK.It is so uncomfortable and disrespectful, to have someone literally following and watching you the WHOLE time shopping.Are you finding everything ok?? They dont mean it...just wanna see you OUT as quickly as they can get you outtt..
I booked a formal style through their hair services salon, and when I came to the appointment, apparently they had mistakenly overbooked that day. I waited for one hour past my appointment time (even though I had to attend a wedding that same day) and then was told that my hair was too frizzy (Id washed and dried it that morning) and that their associate made a mistake by not informing me the day before that I need to come in with smooth hair. Moreover, the hair stylist didnt have time to smooth over my hair because she had too many clients. I still had to pay the same amount though for the service. My hair styling was rushed because there were other clients waiting. I booked an 11:30am appt and mine didnt begin until 12:35pm, and she was done with my style in 10 to 15minutes so she could move on. I was pressed for time at that point so I had no other option but to accept it. I dont blame the stylist herself completely, but there is something to be said about the management system. After this experience, I would not rely on their services again, and nor would I recommend them.
Horrible experience. First and last time here. The blonde employee with short straight hair in her 50s was very rude and dismissal. I asked her if they had Armani makeup and she said no, we dont have that here and rolled her eyes. I was going to buy other stuff and decided to leave. Horrible costumer service and long lines. They should teach their employees some manners.
I love shopping at this Ulta location since its close in proximity to me. It has pretty much everything Im looking for over here. However, I wish it carried more items like the one in Manhattan and Westbury. This one seems a little smaller compared to those two locations. Hopefully, they can expand it but Ulta has been one of my favorite stores for the past few years.
The “manager” working Tuesday, June 29 around 11am/12pm with shoulder length blonde hair is very rude. Every time you go to Green Acres Ulta, there is an issue every time when using rewards and coupons. I had a barcode with the number but the barcode did not load properly on the email. They refused to enter the code; claiming it would not work without even attempting it. However, the manager finally entered the code and it worked. Instead of apologizing, she had an attitude and was very dismissive. Always an issue at this specific Ulta.
I ordered online for pick up & as I got into the store I asked if waiting in line was necessary for PICK UP... the lady at the front who greeted me said yes I have to wait in line. As I got to the front I questioned why I had to wait in line for pick up, I was told by the cashier I do not, which is what I thought.Also, NOT ONE EMPLOYEE WORE A MASK !!!!! & People wonder how the virus spreads .....
The store is usually very well organized but the staff members are very rude. They do not greet you, they do not answer questions and they are just not courteous. I am a person who tries to give a good vibe toward people because I understand that that usually yields a positive response however Ive greeted staff at this store with a hi, how are you? And have been met with a mhm, like what? I hate that this is the closest store to me that allows you to order online and pick up in store.
This Ulta is horrible. Horrible customer service I visited sep 10 around 3:40 and everyone (4 employees) was huddled up at the register having a personal conversation. Not doing anything. After 15 mins or so an employee yelled out is “anybody in here? Does anybody need help?” from the register. Why would I want help after that. I finally find an employee that can assist with matching a foundation, another customer asked a question about urban decay and she completely walked off. Not to mention the security guard follows you around the store watching your every move. All black peoples DON’T steal. After this experience I didn’t want to purchase anything at all. I went in with the intentions of buying a foundation and left frustrated.
I have given this location several tries before writing this review and over and over customer service is lacking. Decided to go first thing in the morning today hoping to get a better response but nope! I purchased a lipstick and when I opened the box at home another lipstick was in the box ( I bought Becca and got Maybelline) called the store to let them know and asked them to please check if they had the one I wanted in stock and was left on hold, after 10 minutes I just couldn’t hold any longer.
I love the products and they definitely offer a larger variety to choose from than Sephora. Great customer service, although I wouldn’t recommend going there at closing time. The employees begin to be a little lazier. The employee that helped me that night was hilarious and we had a great laugh while discussing make up though he did make it clear that he was tired from his long shift and was lazy. The cashier though, was very happy to assist and was very kind and helpful. They also do need more people working on the floor and are available to help but the employees will check up on you to make sure that everything is okay. Though with minor complaints, still WAY better than Sephora’s customer service.
The store was clean. There was only one cashier working. Many customer service reps on the floor. I asked one male rep for help and he pointed in the direction for me to go (he wasnt busy) instead of walking me there. We also wanted to purchase an item but it had no barcode. Instead of asking a rep to look for the item, the cashier told us that she couldnt sell it because there was no barcode.
First time Ive been here, and i had a good experience, i bought some stuff for my hair and i love the price was reasonable. Also bought some make up and clinique face cleaning package which by the way works beautifully. The staff was genuinely friendly. I will be back soon for some of those sales that are going on now.
Customer service representative helped me get the right under eye concealer and I am so happy!! I like coming here to this Ulta, don’t want to go anywhere else. Thanks Ulta for allowing me to test product before buying. I can now face the world with my concealed under eye bags.
Workers were too busy stocking & doing store duties to even ask if I needed help. When I did finally catch someone & asked for a sample because I didn’t want to have to buy two products just to return one, they said they don’t do samples. I thought that was odd seeing how I’ve gotten samples from other Ultas before, so I’m assuming that they’re just too lazy to help their customers.
I love the location of the store and they are always stocked with the latest cosmetics. however I took off a star for presentation, It’s are all over the place, foundation testers for different brands are a mess Juvia Place was the worst. The benefit boing section, forget about it. And I took off 2 stars for customer service. It was poor no help available, I was swatching foundation and security guard was giving me advice as to to how it looks. I mean common you are a cosmetics store. Don’t mention the cashier...I was asking about my points and foundation return policy and her expression, tone & attitude was like lady please just check out and leave, don’t ask me no questions. I don’t think I’ll be visiting that branch again.
I Dont dislike the store as much as I dislike the company. Brought two products that were Ulta brand, a foundation and a liquid pencil. The foundation would not dispense, and the eyeliner was dried out. Contacted the company and was told that I had to go back to store with receipts, etc. Very inconvenient. Also, the products should be higher class as they are the titular brand.
I have come to the conclusion; not because someone is licensed in a profession they know what they are doing. My first experience doing my hair at this Ulta Beauty, Salon location was a complete Disaster from chemical damage(a relaxer, by a stylist); no fault of my, but thankfully after 8 months with diligence and the right products and treatments I used my hair grew. After the lockdown I decided to make an appointment to get my hair cut but whilst I decided to do a partial color to cover the gray hair where it was obvious, because I had intended to relax my hair the following two weeks which I did. I don’t ever use a permanent color to color my gray relaxed hair, I always use a Semi-permanent Color or a Rinse that covers grays and I made this and all of the above abundantly clear to the her(the salon manager/stylist). I even googled the brand Clairol Beautiful Collection, advanced gray solution, semi-permanent color, while sitting on her chair consulting so she can see what I use, but she went ahead and use a permanent color anyway. Sadly two weeks later as intended, I relaxed my hair as I normally do and it fall off from the roots in certain places where she applied the partial color(all my hard work of getting my hair back to healthy became in vain). How did I know she used a permanent color?, I called her and asked her and she confirmed my Suspicion and was very nasty and unprofessional. It’s either they don’t know how to do hair at this location, or they don’t know how to do African-American hair. (1)It’s not Recommended to use a permanent color on Chemically straightened(relaxed hair), because of the harsh chemicals like ammonia, peroxide and bleach etc, especially if you relax your hair regularly(every 6 weeks which I do), please research and talk to a licensed hair stylist who knows what they’re doing an will advise you professionally, accordingly and will listen to you about your hair concerns. (2)I have 5000 FaceBook friends, a Twitter and Instagram account an I will let it be known to them etc, and I will never recommend this location to anyone else, based upon the service experience I received at this location form those two individuals. (3)There wouldn’t be an other visit to patronize this salon location ever.
People working here are not willing to help you. I asked 3 people the same question until someone finally knew what I was talking about. If you dont know anything about makeup then you are working in the wrong store but dont look at me like Im speaking a different language when I know that Im asking for a popular palette that says it is in stock online at this store. Whoever is doing the hiring process is definitely not exploring their options. The ambiance in the store is not a good one.
I decided to look for a perfume here instead of going to Macys because I wanted to take my time smelling lots of samples without being bothered. Last time I bought a perfume at Macys (big bottle) and after a while I didnt really liked it. At Ulta I bought two rollerball fragances, loved the experience. Definitely going back. One if the girls helped me ❤️
This is the 3rd bad experience Ive had here. Employees are not helpful and downright snotty. Be prepared to help yourself but also stared at like you dont belong or are stealing. The workers care more about socializing with one another and looking cute than being employees 🤷🏾♀️
I consider this place incredibly dirty. The testers always look like something Id never want to touch, Ive seen broken cosmetic mirrors on the floor, and I bought a product recently thinking it was fine, not opened, only to go home to see that it was used. Gahhh. I really cant even rationalize going here as a last resort. I rather wait to get products shipped to me from direct suppliers or from Sephora.
Last month I came in this store this was my first time in here. Not knowing what I wanted or even how to achieve a look. I was looking for makeup due to me graduating from Yale. This was a big deal for me so was my makeup. There were literally 3 people working. One girl on the side where toofaced and all the expensive brands are. She was very nice and listened to everything I needed. I believe her name was kiyanna she is pregnant thats all I remember. Anyways her customer service is so great, she is amazing at what she does. You can tell the girls who know about makeup and who dont she definitely does. She listened to how I wanted my look for my graduation to be since I was doing it myself. She matched me with three different foundations based on my skin type which is dry. She placed one on one side and another brand on the other and let me see and feel the differences. I of course wanted makeup that was going to be sweat proof but look great in pictures. I ended up choosing the becca foundation thanks to her. She helped me pick brushes, a lip stick, and a eyeshadow pallete. She even sat me down and showed me how to blend certain colors on my eyes to get a great natural look. Gave me a great setting spray. BTW was amazing to keep in my purse, since graduation was outside. I am so thankful that she was there to help. A good tip she told me when she was matching me with the foundation and powders was to take my phone and take a photo on flash to see if it passes the no flashback test. Surely it did so I know she picked the right products for me. Kiyanna is amazing this Ulta is very lucky to have her. She is professional and she is patient. You can tell she is a makeup artist. I hope she does makeup on the side as well because she is amazing. Ask for kiyanna when you go here you will not be disappointed at all. Thank you Ulta for having such an amazing employee, someone who cares about what you take home at the end of the day not just rush you.
NEVER book makeup and hair there. Completely unreliable if you need them to do both makeup and hair for an event. My cousins and I were supposed to have the first appointments for makeup and hair and we were there before opening. Yet the hair dresser took another women before us and was unable to do two out of the three of us. Mind you we are bridesmaids and made that super clear and that we had to leave at 3. We were there at 11am. There was 1 hairdresser. She didnt finished that women that she took before at 11am us until 4:00pm. We were late and had to do our own hair for the event. I will never rely on an ulta beauty appointment again! The only plus side is that Anna does amazing makeup and she was able to finish all three of us on time. The hairdresser Monique was taking her time with the other women, like moving really slow. It feels like she had a problem with Anna and was trying not to do our hair on purpose as if it would hurt her coworker. So petty and you lost 3 customers and money for your business. NEVER AGAIN!!!
So, this was my first time going into a Ulta Store, I needed help finding a foundation and I was more than pleased. I even walked out with 8 more items I didnt need. LOL. NOW, my only issue was, the lady who was helping me, I guess was eating before she got to me, her hands smelled like a whole bag of Doritos ! LMAO. Im sorry but, if youre going to be touching someones face, make sure your hands are clean. Other than that, it was good. But now I dont think ill ever let anyone else touch my face again.
Terrible. Only 2 workers for a holiday season, only one person on a register and another employee doing benefit brows, not a good variety of foundations that AREN’T OPEN OR USED. Most of their holiday “gifts” are in broken boxes that have been tampered with. This store is a horrible representation of ULTA.
My sister unfortunately got her hair done here in which the hairdresser completely messed up her hair. They tried to fix it, which we appreciate it. But it still was not the color she asked for. And the hairdresser insisted that it was. She needs glasses and needs to retake hair dying courses.
I must say I am not a fan of this location and avoid it, I really needed to pick up some makeup and it was enroute to the other things I had planned for the day... based on previous visit customer service ladies are rude and not thr most helpful..But my visit today was wonderful the young lady who was also training other girl was very attentive and nice. I observed her also being very informative & helpful to other customer while the other customer service associates just stood around doing nothing.. I had to wait for her to finish with the other customer, while the other reps just talked to each other & ignored me & other customers not even offering to assist.... I would def give her 5stars
Terrible customer service, most of the products were not in stock. The employees were incredibly rude, they were just standing there talking amongst each other giving attitude to the customers. Very unprofessional and did not have any product knowledge whatsoever.Avoid this place..
Today 1/7/17 Saturday the store opens at 10am the ladys where n there walking around stocking mind you its 10:12 I thought b4 closing u stock alil in the morning you come n hr or half hour b4 opening to do that crazy how they havent been there long n the shelf is starting to be empty be on time with stocking I was a cool customer n jus waited didnt knock another employee starts to walk towards the door n knocks on the door n they opened for her n I ask them can I come n they said yes

2022-04-26I made an appointment once got to the store and was standing around while I assume the only brow tech they have there was talking to someone else so I patiently waited. After 10min I tried getting her attention and she continued with her conversation. I left 5 min later. Booked another appointment 3wks later hoping to get better service and I stood by waiting for 20min and while employees walked past fast to the point I was unable to get their attention not one asked if I needed to be helped. I’m standing in the area with my K9 work coat on on so it was obvious I wasn’t there to just stop and smell the roses. This place is horrible for service! I will never go back.

2022-07-07The staff are extremely helpful and give honest advice on wigs, hair products and they can answer any question you may have. If you shop there enough, you get a discount card that gives your 10% off. This is the only place I will go to for my wigs and hair pieces. Love this place!

2022-04-08Found everything I needed. I thought I wouldnt get one item that wasnt on the shelf but a store associate came by and asked if I needed any help. She was able go to the back to get it for me. She was so nice. It was such a lovely experience.

2022-07-06I got my hair done by Nadita! She is a true professional and knows what she’s doing. I also saw her perform a color correction while I was there and her client was in disbelief with her results. I will definitely come back to her for my hair needs!!! ☺️

2022-03-31I have been coming to this Ulta since it opened up being that it’s close to my home and being a wellness and beauty influencer, i often buy new products to review. I’ve always have had a great experience coming here, However today I had a horrible experience of being followed around as if I was some common thief by a security guard and another employee by the name of Malcolm.I was taking my time to look around the store, seeing what was new and what I wanted to try out. While chatting on the phone with my friend I first noticed that the security guard was standing really close behind me so I moved to the next aisle where I soon saw she followed me too. I mentioned aloud to my friend on the phone that I believed I was being followed because I was in disbelief that it was actually happening.I was then followed by an employee named Malcom and asked if I needed help finding anything and when I mentioned to him that I was looking for hair products and my daughter at that moment he told me that there was a beauty supply store not far from Ulta, as if to rush me out of the store.I am highly disappointed that even though it is the year 2022 I am still followed around because of what I believe is the color of my skin. I have never stolen nor will I ever steal and to be profiled and embarrassed in this way is uncalled for.

2022-04-27Sooo today I went into ulta and I was checking out, there was a KAREN!!!! Who was shouting at the staff and manager because they wouldn’t return her 2 foundations. But the reason they wouldn’t accept her return is because they were almost all used up and she filled the rest with water, tryna dupe them, like they were dumb(they’re not) the staff and manager were so calm cool and collected and handled the situation with grace. Karen finally went to leave, and made it out of the first set of doors and then turned around and again started shouting at a staff member “what’s the managers name?” And she was like why don’t you ask her ( manager literally standing right next to them) and so she moves on the manager and was like “whats your name?” And she gave her first name and of course Karen wanted her last name too and the amazing manager said I don’t have to give that information!! And then Karen went on to be like what are you the manager of? GM? What are you? And she got ignored and finally went to leave! Yay and as she’s Leaving I screamed BYE KAREN!! The manager and staff at this location are true gems! No person is any better then another person! Treat everyone with respect XoxoX

2022-05-31Literally WORST new management definitely does not know how to do her job she glares and gave ATTITUDE she has blonde hair AWFUL LADY, Romona, she didnt know how to even CORRECTLY RING the items try to overcharge too. She made a EMPLOYEE ring us bc she was so mad at the us like AWFUL dont recommend the management. Poor employees.

2022-01-21I had the most uncomfortable experience ever shopping in an Ulta beauty store. I went to this store because it was closest to the hotel I was staying at and I was running low on a few items. The moment I walked in the store I felt like I was targeted by the security officer that was there. She followed me in every single isle I felt hassled and harassed. I was so uncomfortable as I have social anxiety and the fact that she was continuously hovering over me did not help the situation. Thing about it is that there were other customers in the store but I was the only one she was hassling. Worst experience ever, I am here in New York on assignment and I will never shop in this store again. Nor will I recommend this store to anyone.

2022-03-06Every time I go to Ulta at Valley stream there is never anyone to help you. If you ask for help they always look upset. You would have to walk around the store looking and looking for what you want and they would see and not even ask if you need help finding what your looking for. The staff is beyond rude that it’s so sad.
