Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Bagels in other cities:
My fiancé and I love coming here & we usually do every weekend. However, today I asked for an iced chai. Once they gave it to me, I looked down and saw a dead bug stuck to the ice cube. I quietly tried to say something and they didn’t apologize, or even say anything. They just remade it and handed it back. It wasn’t even addressed. We will not be back.
5 stars for food, location, and service. 3.7 stars for the coffee. For most people the coffee will be fine but it didn’t have any standout aspect, and I suspect if I did a blind taste test comparing it with coffee from a generic inexpensive coffee brand of a similar type I would not taste much difference. Cold brew is pretty good but not as good as some other cafes in the area. But who cares, nobody goes here to drink amazing coffee, and the bagel sandwiches (including the breakfast ones) are very nice.
Daily specials on soup 5 bucks will get ya a cup and a bowl for 1 extra dollar. Bag of chips or oyster crackers #choosewiselyBins n bins of bagels, And plenty of deserts.Super busy but everyone has a spot. Hi tops low tops booths deep dish chairs a window bar and a patio booooom. Seating👌You can buy a french press of coffee or tea and bring it over to your table. Kool memoriesA wide assormment of reall plants for an extra shot of O2 and clean rustic bathrooms. Feels right here.
Nice place, great and friendly people who work there. It seems to be a pretty popular place especially for locals with children. Big plus! I did not try any of their foods but they seem to have something for mostly everyone, according to their large menus.I came here for the coffee primarily, as I stayed at a local hotel for a night during a business trip.As I always drink coffee black, I opted for the cold brew. Personally, and this is purely subjective, I am not a big fan of their selection of blend for their cold brew. I did not get a great blend of aroma and it was difficult to make out any special notes. But again, this is purely subjective. They do not roast coffee at this particular location, one very nice worker explained to me, but that seems to be a work in progress.Honestly, the only thing to make this a 5 star place, in my book, would be to offer more coffee brew choices than filter. Offer a French press, a pour over, a chemex, etc.
This is a really nice coffee shop right across the street from Clifton Park Center. Having visited the Saratoga location many years ago, I decided to forego Starbucks and give this place a try.The staff, though not overly friendly, is perfectly acceptable. The coffee I find is really delicious - being a bit picky about my coffee choices, I was very impressed with their cold brew.Though I haven’t eaten at this particular location, there are a lot of food options at seemingly reasonable prices. The wifi is fast, the ambiance is nice, and the coffee is great. Will definitely be returning to this location!
In the past, the food has been good and the service okay. Recently, we were ordering for 10 people and decided to call ahead to see if we could order ahead, given the large order. We expected to have to wait awhile for the food and were totally fine with that. The person who answered told us we could order online. We did so and shortly after ordering, recieved an order canceled email. We were confused about why it was canceled, so we called back. The person who answered said the order was too big so they canceled it. We then said wed come in to do the order. They said not to bother as we wont take the order and promptly hung up on us.Hands down the worst customer service Ive seen in a very long time. Im also confused because if we had five people come in and order two sandwiches and coffees each, its the exact same thing--with no advanced notice.Im disappointed because the food and coffee is great, but after that terrible experience (and the subsequent fantastic experience at another locally owned Clifton Park coffeeshop) I dont see us ever going back here.
I was really excited for this place to open. I adore Uncommon Grounds bagels and coffee, and this location certainly didnt disappoint. I got an almond milk latte and the Mediterranean sandwich, and enjoyed them immensely. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because theres nowhere to change a kids diaper, not even one of those foldout changing tables on the wall in the restroom. They had high chairs, which was great as I had my 6-month old with me... but I had to lay out a changing mat on my chair and have my friend hold her in place while I changed her. The Saratoga location has a lovely family restroom with a legit changing table, so this took me by surprise. But yeah... still good.
If you go in on a day where the girl with the long brown hair is working… I’d suggest walking back out. Each time I’ve had an encounter with her she’s been extremely rude and has ruined my experience at the coffee shop. I hope whoever is in charge there can teach her some customer service and that it costs $0.00 to be a kind human being. Whether I have ordered a bagel or a pastry, it’s been messed up or ice cold. Only thing that’s decent there is their lattes.
2022: Look, Ive had a coffee renassaince since 2018, so lets forget that review even happened. This coffee roaster is THE BEST in the area. All of their beans are responsibily sourced and roasted fresh every two weeks. I absolutely recommend the company as a whole. To get the coffee you like most youll have to try many different kinds of beans, and some arent available all year due to the freshness and responsibility that this company keeps too.I do think their house brand is bitter, Ive found I personally like low acid coffees as a whole, so its not really a surprise. My favorites are Mexican (summer only) and Monsoon (year-round) as well as the occassional expresso or columbian for my expresso martinis.2018: Lovely local coffee shop. The coffee itself is a little bitter for my tastes. The Oreo frappe though is award worthy decadence. Most of the meals are reasonable. Last time I was there they skimped on the meat and fish on our bagel sandwiches though.
Food and coffee are great but not sure why there is an online order option if each time i place an order it gets cancelled. II understand an ASAP order might be hard to fill when it gets busy but even when i place orders for 30 minutes ahead of time they get cancelled. Stop taking orders if you have to cancel all of them.
I love the coffee and food here. The soup is shockingly good every single time. It is often very crowded around peak meal times, so if youre looking for a meeting place or a place to sit down, this may not be it. Has a quirky, personable vibe and is an enjoyable place to eat and caffienate.
Today was my very first time eating here! I just wanted to say that my cashier, Christina or Christine(sorry I cant remember her name, shame on me), was amazing! I could not decide what bagel to get, so she recommended the Garlic Bagel with the Chicken Salad! What an amazing flavor combination! I have found a new place to eat! Lord willing, I will be eating breakfast there on Thursday morning before work! Later McDonalds breakfast!
After a few days of getting my basic dark coffee with cream ruined I decided to voice the issues. An acceptable solution of several staff overseeing the situation was to have me buy a second black coffee so I could blend it with the warm milk Ive been served several days. This tactic did produce a drinkable cup of coffee.
Great tasty food and really friendly staff!!! (Clifton Park location). I would really like to give 5 stars BUT every time I go and order “The Mediterranean” breakfast sandwich and add bacon THEY FORGET TO ADD THE BACON. 7 out of 8 times I have ordered my favorite b-fast sandwich with added bacon they have forgotten THE BACON (the one time they remembered I had to do a double check and my jaw hit the floor). Not a great success rate. I have even tried explaining when I order to make sure to add the bacon because every time I have ordered I have to check the sandwich and come back asking for the bacon. I do this... and they still forget the bacon!!! So I have even just thought about defaulting to a regular bacon, egg, and cheese option...but I like the Mediterranean too much to live my life like that. I keep going because the food is good, but this is a growing annoyance where I have finally decided to leave a review about it in hopes it sparks a change. They do always give me the bacon when I go up and say they forgot it...so that’s a plus. Anyways always check your b-fast sandwich should you decide to upgrade with the “add bacon” option. Cheers!
Called in an order and went in to pick it up only to find that they had reopened indoor dining. There were a dozen people inside not wearing masks, and no way to pick up an order without going inside. Not cool. Just to be clear, the food was great as usual -- The bagel sandwiches and cookies are my favorites, its a great brunch spot -- but not worth risking health for.
Seems to be more popular than the Starbucks that was here before. The line moves at a good pace and their coffee seems to be priced pretty well. Their menu has alot of bagel items on it as well as some great salads. Not very clear if they can handle gluten or not but then again west end is close enough and they offer gluten free bagels.
I dine here frequently and haven’t had an unpleasant experience yet. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious and consistent. I typically order a healthy harvest sandwich or a bulls eye sandwich. The house blend coffee is pretty strong, just the way I like it.
The wait is long every time, which would be justified because of how long the lines are but they keep forgetting to call out my iced coffee (or sometimes cold brew) order! It’ll be standing there and I’ll be like is this mine? They aren’t sure so I’ve had to ask around and someone poured me a cup of iced coffee. Most just seem flustered instead of organized. West End is across the parking lot and is a way better experience and taste.
Best bagels outside of long island. West End isnt even close. Coffee is incredible. The staff are friendly and the place is always very clean. My only gripe is that I cant tip the staff on my credit card. I never carry cash. I have definitely driven by without stopping quite a few times because I didnt have cash to tip with.
I’ve been coming here for the past couple years and always have enjoyable experiences. Everyone is friendly and happy to help. What prompted me to review today was an interaction I saw when 2 people entered without masks today. It was immediately made clear to them that they would not be served unless they put on a mask, and that guidance was strongly adhered to. I really appreciate that, especially being pregnant and therefore at higher risk.
My wife has made me stop here every weekend since moving back to the area. She cannot start her day without coffee... she did have a burnt ice coffee the one time and was very disappointed. Their breakfast sandwiches are good and so are there bagels. I like you can get day old bagels for cheap. We have tried a few smoothies and they are really good as well. The Green Tropical is great, its a meal in itself. My wife and I usually split one and supplement it for a meal. Thanks.
Lots of options. Great for people with specific diets. I like that its one of the few places you can catch breakfast at any time. Its a little pricey but I didnt go in expecting differently. I like the vibe but if youre looking for a quiet place to get work done pick your time wisely. My Chai Latte tasted like sugary milk, hands down the worst Ive ever had, but I also tried the coffee the following time and it was decent. I wouldnt go there for the coffee alone though, its the full package of quick and easy choices that brings me back there. So, overall it only lost one star for me based on multiple times being there. Im just thankful for more breakfast choices that arent so unhealthy.
Much like its sister location in Albany on Western Ave, this coffee shop sells good coffee pastries and begals. Local artists work hang on the wall for sale. The food is good the location is nice. Good place to sit sip and read. My favorite is the jalapeno begal with salmon cream cheese. I highly recommend this location. Four out of five stars for me.
Leaving the Clifton park location now. I just ordered a bagel sandwich and a soup. The soup was fine but the bagel sandwich came with one slice of ham and on slice on cheese on a huge bagel. I asked both the cook and the young lady at the register if that’s all the came on it and they both say yes. I will never ever comeback here as it’s a complete ripoff. I’ve never been served a full bagel sandwich with one slice of meat and cheese for I think $7. ... I’m heading to subway next store for a a real sized sandwich
If you are looking for a place for a basic lunch with a lot of coffee and tea options, this is the place. It has a nice coffee shop ambience where it is comfortable to stay and work on something. The food menu is shorter than the coffee and tea menu, but the food is not an afterthought. All the sandwiches are served on home-made bagels so you can tailor the flavor that much more. A great place to go for breakfast and stay for lunch.
This is a great coffee shop for social meetups, as well as business meetings, as there is a variety of types of booths and tables. They also have a wide ranging menu of sandwiches and baked goods, so its also a decent place for a full meal, not just coffee. Im a big fan of their rosemary olive bagel... Its quite unique as far as bagel flavors go, and I think is delicious with hummus.
Lovely coffee shop smack dab in the middle of Clifton Park, always busy, always lovely staff. The parking can be a little dicey during busy times, but if you circle around once or twice you will usually find a place. Their coffee is quite good, as are there interesting specialty items and their bakery and food options. You can grab breakfast or lunch here as well.
Great location and the set up of the store makes it a nice place to study alone or have a business meeting (small group). Great coffee and the bagels are the best you can get around here. If you a buy a dozen the 13th one is free. I normally get it toasted and have creamcheese and eat it there. Yum.
Went into the establishment for a quick snack and coffee NO PLACE to SIT due to the campers on their laptops taking up the limited seating available and management seemed to care less. You would think having to operate on 50% capacity would inspire them to keep rude people moving along.......
Great selection of sandwiches, coffees, tea, smoothies, pastries and sweets and small cakes. The ideal place to go if youre gonna get a bagel sandwich in Saratoga county. The Clifton Park location is spacious and pretty convenient, and has nice decor, local art, and plenty of tables. Service is good.Best tuna salad in the Capital Region imo.
Update: we revisited the Albany store yesterday, and we were not impressed. If all you want is a quick bagel and coffee, this is pretty standard fare. Sadly, not much more. Service is a bit more friendly at this store, but the staff seem to have little ownership over the quality of service and product. Perhaps it is our mistake to come on the weekend. My guess is that the owners have little stake in the day-to-day management, and little connection to their customers or the community. Kind of like Panera. In short: Uncommon Grounds is pretty, well, unfortunately common.......While we enjoyed ourselves, this store in Clifton Park New York is quite a bit more crowded than the one in Albany. This store seems to be more of a hangout, with an especially unfriendly staff, mostly student age workers. Overall the coffee was good, the bagel was good, the oatmeal was subpar, and the scone was returned. We probably wont be back to this location, but will give the Albany store another try. They Albany store seems to have a better quality of service, clientele, ambiance, and food product. Which is strange, because they have the same owner, from what I understand.
Worse customer service. The girl working at the register was rude, no greeting, no smile, no thank you, just standing there like she hates working here.Ordered a Greek salad, didnt even ask me if I want to add any proteins, im sure your boss would love that. This place is depressing, seems like all thePeople working here are rude and unfriendly.
Probably the best “local” coffee experience you can expect to find in Clifton Park. While there are several others within a 20 min drive I’d prefer, the coffee here is good, staff is generally friendly, and it beats the surrounding chains any day. If you need some caffeine and are nearby I’d suggest checking it out.
Whenever i arrive at the location that i put into my GPS system that is named Uncommon Grounds i get a bit excited. Not only is there good food but fantastic coffee, not to mention the hot babes behind the counter that serve me and other fellow customers. I sort of get a little depressed whenever i have to leave the premises of the building. Not because of the hot babes but because i love the building. I want to be the proud owner of the fine establishment so i can one day, own an Uncommon Grounds. Keep up the good work will stop by soon for more great food and even better service! :D #HotBabes
1st visit and I loved it. This is not that OTHER coffee shop which shall remain nameless. I dont drink coffee, so it is fortunate that they have many different tea choices. I had Madagadcar vanilla w/cherry and it was unique (for me) and tasty. The toasted onion bagel with light cream cheese was soft and yummy, and the price was comprable to any other local shop. There were several dessert options that looked homemade. I cant wait to go back and dive into the key-lime something-or-other, or any of the large, soft-looking cookies. Or the exotically-named cheese cake. Or one of the interesting sounding breakfast sandwiches. Or... Hmm...I think I will need to go back more than once.
Others in my group went inside while I was in the car (to make sure a dog wasnt left alone in the car). I got a chocolate smoothie. I think it had banana in it. Anyway, something seemed off about it. I let someone else finish it and there were no complaints from that person. Might have been just me that didnt like it -- thus score averaging.
We live in the Albany area and have been fans of the Uncommon Grounds chain. The Saratoga branch (original) is great, the Albany branch is not managed well at all, and this Clifton Park branch is comparable to the Saratoga branch. Fast service, great quality food, and well managed. Rarely, will they lack seats for all customers.
The new UC in Clifton Park is beautiful and offers more seating than its older and edgier sister location on Western Ave in Albany. The layout is different from Albany if youre a frequent customer there and instead of having the bagels in front of you when you walk in and ordering directly from your bagel maker, the CP location has you cue up at the register to order and pay first. So instead of ordering from looking at yummy bagels youre ordering from a chalk menu board. I personally like Albanys layout much better because I always like being able to easily pick exactly which bagel I want which is more difficult in CP. The feel of CP is akin to buying a premade sandwich off the shelf whereas in Albany it is much more compatible with customising your bagel as its being made. In CP the sandwiches are made out of site similar to if you were in a Panera. Not my cup of tea but they seemed to be doing just fine regardless of my preferences. I also thought the bagels in CP were puffier and chewier than in Albany which I also didnt like - maybe its the water.
This has the potential to be a really great place. However, the staff is very young, lazy and at times careless. Every time I come the tables are always dirty. You have four people doing NOTHING. Tonight I had to clean my own table AGAIN. This place needs some REAL MANAGEMENT.

2022-06-26This is an awesome breakfast place. Love everything about this place. The coffee is great and the breakfast sandwiches are excellent. My favorite is the Mediterranean sandwich on everything bagel. The bagels are huge and very tasty. Usually has quite a few people in the morning. This place also has good seating both indoor and outdoor. The staff is really friendly and service was quick. Impressed by the quick service. I highly recommend the place.

2022-02-18Friendly staff, great service, best hot chocolate I have ever had! Got a bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich too, was pretty good. Definitely could have been better with another egg maybe.

2022-05-17The food is good. I love their salads and sandwiches. The coffee is very good. I just wish they had more space as seating is very limited. Get there early and not at peak times. Get a member card too.

2022-03-29I come here all the time and the coffee and food is delicious. It’s a great ambience for a nice spot to hang out with friends or do some computer work. I just feel like it’s been going downhill over the past few months with the attitude of the workers over time. I went yesterday with my boyfriend and while glancing at the menu (which didn’t take us not even a minute because we knew what we wanted) the girl at the counter had the biggest attitude and seemed like we were taking forever. No one has time for this in the morning. Especially before caffeine. This use to be a friendly atmosphere. Want attitude and grumpiness before you start your day, go here. And they also got my order wrong… idk what is confusing about a bagel with half cream cheese on it.

2021-09-19Great bagels, good drinks. Ambience is always chaotic. Decided to sit out on patio area, big mistake. Was overcome by cigarette smoking of multiple staff members. Understandable, moved further away. What is unacceptable is one female staff member spitting loogies (three times) near patrons. Disgusting.

2021-06-116/11/21 @ 10:15 am. I love this place for their coffee shop ambiance. A place you can chill out with your work computer and a coffee and not be bothered that youre spending too much time there. I also love their plants. How do they keep them so healthy? Yes, theyre real (most anyways), I checked. Lol. So that all gets 5 stars. They drop to ONE star for their sandwiches though. Do NOT go there for a sandwich. This ham and cheese on a plain bagel was not worth the $8.95 it costed. Luckily it was purchased with a gift card.
