Park is cool. Love to come out here and unwind. The bike messenger guys tend to flood the area at times on break. But eh free country
Very Central spot and a lot to see around here. The park is nice with plenty of benches or people sit on the steps. Every other weekend there is like a farmers market and you see people sell their goods. Conveniently located connecting many subway lines.
Absolutely worth a visit because its so striking!It shines so bright in the sun,seating areas with shade,lil lights on them,very nice for photos.Lovely smothie van outside with snacks too.
Quite a spacious park for all ages. There is a farmers market on certain days of the week and the vendors offer a variety of produce to sell. There is also a lot of benches to lounge and hang around. I would go there just to get myself immersed into the atmosphere of people walking and talking around.
Nice medium sized park. Very busy with lots of people sitting on benches. It was so busy we couldn’t find a seat to sit and enjoy the sights so we just walked around and enjoyed the scenery.
I always enjoy visiting Union Square Park. Plenty of benches to sit and take on the beauty of the foliage, the design and myriad shopping opportunities. I, especially, enjoy the vendors that come and sell their wonderful goods. Their delicious breads, meats, organic options and the upbeat atmosphere will have you coming back when you can. As with everywhere, always be aware of your surroundings and be mindful of those who are peddling items that may be unhealthy or illegal.
Had myself a little dinner picnic there. Despite the occasional bad actor, the area was clean and free from drama at the hands individuals with too little respect for other people. Watched an aspiring “Tony Hawk” try and land a four step jump on his skateboard. He fell each time (making my skin jump) but never gave up. He didn’t land it in the end before his screaming kid brother necessitated the departure. I felt bad for him. I wanted to give him some pointers to help him successfully jump the four stairs, but didn’t want to be intrusive, his dad was trying to help, as best he could. The dad didn’t look like he was much of an athletes, but who knows. It was humanity at its finest. And a welcomed return to normalcy following the pandemic-related isolation.
This park has connections to several Subway lines and is close to lots of NYC treasures. Easy access to The Strand, The Public Theater not far from Washington Square Park and all the great food spots there.The park itself has some lovely flowers, a dog park, a childrens playground and LOTS of benches. There are also drinking fountains.It may just have been because of the rain, but there were a number of pathways / sections of the park that were blocked off in May 2022 which was not convenient. But we did get to hear a great Jazz group who was performing just outside the park.
Excellent, shaded park. Two playgrounds, one for under 5, the other 5-12. A good variety of climbers, slides and a metal dome that our kids love.
Union Square will always will be my stopping ground however its a wonderful spot to visit, especially on the weekends for those who are traveling, theres the Farmers market as well several local artists selling thier work. If you want to save money and not spend money on a restaurant then I recommend going to Whole Foods and buy either a whole chicken, soft pretzels bagels or bread, your choice of cheese, I mean the list goes on, create your own picnic, you have everything you need in Whole Foods which is by the way across the street from the park...enjoy 😉
One of the most lively parks in NY with a huge Subway station beneath it. Visit this any time of the year and you will find some or the other activities happening here. Just sit back, relax, enjoy the NY culture and find the connecting subway for your destination. Surrounded by many amazing places to eat and shop.
Stopped by this park in the NYU area after a long walk. Lots of people sitting on benches and lounging around. Nice layout with sections of intimate seating areas vs exposed public areas.The vegetation was well taken care of and sadly the park was filled with rodents. Its NY what do you expect, but its a shame because these little critters are everywhere and they are not shy of humans lol.Great place to just sit down and chill. Good shade and great surrounding architecture. I didnt try the restaurant, but maybe next time.
A bustling hub of activity. Whether hosting a Black Lives Matter protest, an outdoor market, or any number of other events, there is usually something interesting at Union Square. Easy subway access and next to good shopping (dont miss that farmers market) Union Square has a little of everything.It can be chaotic and is often messy, but I have never felt unsafe. Not a bad place to walk around with your kids or with Spot, your other kid.
They almost always have a market going on warm days. The markets are well planned with good things to buy and plenty of walking space. The only thing that dings it is the same thing most unkempt cities suffer from. The subway stops/ fences / Park infrastructure is a little dilapidated. Re invest in the public areas you have instead building more.
So confused about what is being counted, lol...Like most places in NYC, the green space didnt have much grass - rather it was brown and dusty; but it was clean, and nice to visit and see the statues.
Where else can you find Mexican Sour Gherkin, Reishi Mushroom, Brown Russian Cucumbers, Magic Molly Fingerling Potatoes, Organic Fresh Ginger, and my greatest discovery Husk Cherries...Halloween pumpkins. You can also get Duck fat, Leaf Lard, olive ciabatta bread, goat milk, and a variety of delicious produce
Its a cool funky place. Used to call it needle Park back in the 60s and 50s.. if youre going by yourself or if your elderly you might need to sit next to other on there many long strips of communal seating.. a lot of poor homeless people I think plenty of them are out of their mind if you see them youll be frightened to sit by yourself if you see anyone going wild talking to himself or moving around with the hands up or the eyes looking weird or they dont then you know youre going to be uncomfortable while youre sitting there so Ill be near some people as close as 5 to 10 feet from them.. Theyre probably not try to do anything if youre in your other people. So why chance it just be on the air of caution.. and enjoy the interesting sites
A flurry of activity on Saturdays. Didnt stay long that day, the city had different plans for me as a visitor. Lots of vendors and lots of humans. Good sunshine and surrounded by quality food options.
Great park, places to shop and walk nearby, subway station right there. There’s usually markets open to buy produce. During the holidays is when the park is at its peak tbh. Sometimes it’s also very lit when there’s big groups of people, it can get quite crazy though.
Farmers market 3 days per week. MondayWednesday and FridayShe wolf Bakery is so delicious. Fresh baked bread loaves 🍞 and I had a sweet potato barley malt ginger cake. To die for

Fantastic park in NYC. You will find musical artists in this park, kids playong, dogs running in the dog park portion, neat sculptures and chess or checkers games being played.
The park used to be called needle park. people are complain about junkies and people hanging out its a nyc icon park. the farmers market is great. yes alto of homeless people hang out its nyc.. it used to be worse but it was cleaned up. however the problem i am most disturb by is not the homeles or locals is the bathrooms which were also renovated years ago, but are run down trash and do not function and disgusting dirty. its like covid has no effect on people but mask up in subway ? the filth of bathrooms and they dont care because i wrote them several times. doors dont work fall off wood used to make a new door sink back up and toilet and not fixed and it is nice space but they dont maintaine them and no one cares.. no paper and to dirty to wash hands or change babies.. what do the allot money for. They need to do better with Free hold and people who use bathrooms must suffer in trash?
I come here to Roaming Aces Frams Farmer market. Im Native American so I dont really like Cow and Chicken that much and if I eat it, it will be in two or maybe three choosen places. So I eat Bison, Deer ( White Tail is the best in the world ), Elk and occasionally a moose ( dont like moose too much ) but I eat my traditional foods. So at Roaming Aces Farmers Market I usually buy Bison, Ground, Skirt Steak, T-bone and others types as well. I also like their Ostrich meat, its the cleanest meat that you can ever eat and the healthiest as well, better than fish I may say. So if you want well raised no antibiotics or hormones than come to Roaming Aces. They also have grass fed beef, chicken and pork for those of you who like these types of meats.

When I think of summer time in new York i think of this park. Its great to walk around. There is always something going on. If youre visiting new York definitely stop by.

One of my favorite park in N.Y.C.I could spend hours, just at the dog run.If you are looking for a chess game, I recommend it. This park is a cultural hub.There is always something to learn. The surrounding area is full of stores. Paragon sports, is nearby. You can also find a farmers market on certain day.

They had the farmers market on the North side and the vendors on the south side, Union Park was beautiful to visit and get lost in in a good way. Pick up two new plants while I was there.
Union Square Park is always a vibe, but Sunday the flea market were popping. The taco truck, Amazing and friendly. The fruit truck, OMG, fruit sweet and fresh, and in a Yum!!!
I love coming here for the green market. Lots of great vendors and artists selling their things. Also a good vibe and a place to people watch.
I love the park. A hot bed of activity. The farm market was excellent. I posted a load of pictures of the vendor booths. Many have samples. Nice way to spend a Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.Only two things concerned me. The homeless sleeping in the circle area under the tree & a few arrogant pot salesmen blattantly exchanging product & cash in the open.People are all very friendly. Not very talkative but at least they smile and nod.Go and enjoy. You get everything from meats, moonshine and memories on your excursion.

I love the diversity of product on the weekends and weekdays at USP. Stories, plants, breads, tasy treats of all kinds. I go for the mushrooms and stay for the cookies
Union Square will always hold a special place in my heart. From growing up here and playing on the playground to hanging out by the steps and people watching to having picnics on the lawn, Union Square will always be special. Its the true heart of New York and the Mecca of downtown.Theres so much culture and passion that breathes vitality into the city. There are activists who protest for what they stand for, chess players hustling amateurs for a living, teens skateboarding and hanging out after school, and people who give free hugs not for money but to spread love and joy. Union Square has historically been filled with addicts and homeless but this problem has lessened through the years. Its definitely a whole lot safer now even in the late hours.The best part are the farmers market affectionately known as the Greenmarket that open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and the Christmas market that opens in late November. Prices are very reasonable and you can find anything from fresh vegetables, delicious snacks, and vibrant plants in the Greenmarket to unique handcrafted gifts in the Christmas market. Its definitely a magical place to visit in the late fall and early winter.
Its a nice place to rest for a bit on your walking trip of Manhatten. Fun place to people watch and feed some birds too.
Gandhi Garden and Farmers Market are open Secrets of Union Square and offcorse most Manhattan masses never realize its a large park given busy subway station 14th Street traffic and Broadway become a cobblestone path here to end up in University Place (NYU/New School/Pratt..) while Broadway goes diagonally to villages and soon the grid of numbered streets end and named little lanes put you at intersection of Waverly and Waverly:) Union Square Park sort of says hay things are gonna change down there as it defies all the definitions of Union or Square or Park : Makrand Bhoot (New York - New Delhi)

Had such a great time at this park with my kid, enjoy the fresh air, peace of mind. This park is the best place to take our kids to have fun, interact with a variety of culture, people from different countries. Me and child had a lot of fun. This park is very safe and clean. Since the renovations its a great park to visit The dog run is fun to go by and watch Theres a large playground for the children now The Greenmarket is also held here every Wednesday Friday & Saturday (weather permitting)

Very busy area of Manhattan that has great food markets. The park is a nice place to sit and relax and either read or have lunch.Very easy to get to as it has a large metro station

Great farmer’s market
Union square park is wonderful. You have everything in the park and surrounding. Farmers markets specific days of the week and on Saturdays. As well as wholefoods and various stores like DSW, Vans, Petco, scotch and soda in surrounding park. Highly recommend. Beautiful in summer and every season. However, summer and spring are my favorite
A great local and bio market which is a great place to see all the beautiful local produced , cheeses, veggies, bread and juices.For foodies a true Mecca to find the freshest produce from local farmers.Veggies how Mother Nature intended them to look like!!
New York is a city to know on foot (in my opinion). For seven days I walked for all districts that was possible and had a opportunity to discover several places that is not tourist but show the real life and beauty of Manhattan. I sit in a park bench on this square and I stayed there admiring the city and the life around
Grid moments and a great story
On June 03.2018 I rode a bicycle 🚲 passing by here . Here looks like is a nice place,Union Square farmers market is the best/largest farmers market in the entire northeast. It runs Mon, Wed, Fri, and Saturday year round. Most days there are over 100 farms in attendance, everything from organic produce, seafood, proteins of all varieties, flowers, local wines, ect.ect...ect. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Def a tourist attraction. You sit, you chill , you eat..theres live street performances. Food trucks and nearby restaurants..really nice area to take time out from shopping.
Above average chess players but none of them gave me my five dollars back after they were mated
The Farmers market in here is very good! Fresh vegetables are the best things to buy here. The baked goods I have bought here have always been just okay. I would rather buy from a bakery in my neighborhood than here.

Sit in the heart of New York City with all restaurants, stores and small business around. Great place for a break no matter you are taking break for work or travelling. A lot of great food nearby.

On Saturdays is there an organic fresh farm market. You can buy bread, sweets, fruits, flowers, fish and more.
The market on this particular Saturday was exceptional. Im sure its always like this. Bustling with no shortage of farm vendors, bakers, flowers and even some crafts.

I love this part of New York. From it s Farmers market on Thursdays to the winter village during the holiday season. Its a nice and calm spot most of the day.You can grab a bite at whole foods or Panera bread and have a relaxing lunch on one of the many park benches
Always used to hang out here but nowadays not as much. However its full of excitement especially during the warmer seasons and you can meet so many cool people too.
This park is great for all seasons. Just enjoyed the pop-up holiday market. Vendors offering many unique gifting options. During the warmer months it is a great place to unwind, people watch, or hit the farmers market.
Union Square Park is always a delight. On Wednesdays they usually have the green market stands out, but being Thanksgiving is right around the corner, they had the stands set up on Tuesday. Everyone knows what the green markets are like so l will not say more. However the park also has Christmas stands set up for the holiday shoppers on the south side of the park. I love walking along the stands and seeing the variety of the gifts to give and get.
Visiting NYC the week of Thanksgiving and ran into the farmers market at Union square. Fabulous market with produce, homemade goods and decorations for the dinner table. Not overly crowded. Spacious area. Metro stop. Very enjoyable.
Park in the mids if it all offering shade. This is also the home of the farmers market where you can find local vendors bringing fresh produce for sale. You can find exotic grass, herbs , tea , flowers and basically anything else here. This is my place for buying stinging nettle in the summer. Enjoy the farmer market in the summer and fall and the holiday market in the holiday season. Big crowds on the weekends, but some really great little shops here. I snagged me a mozza dog at ok dogs and walked around with the kiddo to check things out for over an hour. There is still more to see and try!
Today there was a live band outside. At least twice a week the Farmers Market is there, always chess players there to challenge your skills. Love it!
Small but lively and well-maintained park. Good place to take leisurely strolls, do people watching, or bring kids to play at the playgrounds. There is also a small Christmas bazaar when I visited.
A nice day before the spring where not many people @ the park. The farmer market is interesting and happens twice a week cash only though.
Today was amazing! I went to their special holiday market and got a ton of spices, herbs, smoked duck breast, a special spices plate grater and onion peeler and more. I wish I was a millionaire so I couldve bought more.

Love union market! Great park/ square right by the path, 4 & 5, L trains. I stop here for food on my way to/ from Williamsburg. Or just to hang! Barn Joo is a fav (glass noodles w/ beef, truffle fries and a craft beer) or Beyond Sushi for some vegan sushi!
Great market. On holidays it is way too crowded, but on weekday mornings its better. My favorite is Milllport Farms. They have excellent cheddar cheese and their smoked pork chops are scrumptious!
Union Square Park/food market is 99% back on track. Miss the colorful display of fruit and veggies and of course, a market staple …Martin’s Pretzels since the early ‘80’s. Not a market visit without a pretzel.

Union Square Park is the place to visit in New York City. Theres so much to see including statues of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Plus the farmers market, the flowers, Hari Krishnas and benches to enjoy people watching
For me, the best sqare park in NYC, you can find a shake shack for a snack, benches and a playground to spend a couple of hours just to telax, in rainy days is very peaceful

Great on a sunny day. Area for 2 - 5 with swings, and sand, and another area ( Evelyn Park) for the 5 - 12 year olds. On Saturday mid-morning onward, theres a post ballet set present. Mostly populated by children, and their parents, theres a level of Civility here that is not always found in many playgrounds period a good time all around.
While taking Covid virus seriously you can wear a mask, take a stroll, shop for great organic products from the wide variety of vendors grab a snack, sit and relax enjoying your visit to one of New Yorks favorite places.
Went here for Christmas market lots of stalls, ice skating rink had a lovely festive feel to it good family day out
Love this lively park! Theres tons of artists, performers, nice music, chess players. Its a lovely place to meet, chill, and relax. Right next to a lot of shops too.
Love the many markers and plaques, especially those embedded in the sidewalks (dont forget to look down) as well as the statues including Washington, Lincoln and the less often noticed Lafayette on the east side of the park. My favorite bronze sidewalk plaque is of the sites of First Peoples villages prior to European contact. It is at the east side of the park at the 15th Street crossing, N side of the crossing (there is more than one plaque there so look at all of them).
So much to see and so much to buy. I walk through farmers market today. Very nice busy crowd. People enjoying the fresh foods, pastries, drinks and flowers. This is a must try when you are near 14th street.inside the park you can always find a seat to relax and enjoy the scenery.never a dull moment here.

Just moved here two months ago and this is my go to square most weekends to get good food and check out cute shops. The farmers market is great for plants and food, and now the winter shops are up and it’s like a little village!
A nice gathering place...a bit quieter now with the whole CV thing going on - but you can still sit on benches throughout the park, hear some buskers, and enjoy being outside of your 300 sqft apartment or hotel or whatever cage you live in. Very central for subways...I always feel like it is the heart of the lower part of the city.when it is popping - double dutch, chess, skaters....dancing even.

It’s a beautiful park located in lower Manhattan it connects the East and West sides, with a lots of stores and restaurants.

Its a nice Farmers Market, good variety of food stuff. Some things seem pricey compared to the supermarket, but then it could be the location of the market. It was my first time there. There were plants for sale too. Would I go again most likely no since I dont live in the city and if I want I can go to a farm stand near me though there wont be any bakery or flower stands.
Great stop for some peace and quiet in a green space. Local artists and street performers abound. Lots of homeless people though.

Great NYC park with lots of activity, and all kinds of great people around. Cool venders selling different items from original artwork to homemade incense. The park is very clean, and nice place for a Sunday stroll in the city. Easy to get to via the subway, or bus. We had fun there, and will return to hangout with all the great New Yorkers.
Best park⛲🌳🌴🌲 for events in New York🗽. This park is mostly busy throughout the year. You find spring market during late March. Summer concerts🎫🎶🎼. During August, there are are events which go for a week. And the best part is winter ❄️🥂⛸️☄️🍴. You can go Ice Skating, lots of shops to get unique hand crafted gifts for Christmas and New year. This place is lit during December and January.
FANTASTIC atmosphere! Hits and misses on the food dishes. Cocktails and onion soup were excellent. Steak entrees were overdone, perhaps because the server left them under the lights too long? Crepes were good, as was the dessert. Server could have been more attentive! +/-
I went during the Christmas season and just loved the Holiday Market! Amazing hand crafted gifts by a variety of vendors. I also enjoyed the men playing chess outside the venue. They were so charismatic and excited about challenging others to a match.
You take for granted the beauty of the city when you have access to it. Today I decided to take advantage of the Union Square Green market. It was amazing.
Farmers market was just wrapping up on this Saturday when we got there around three in the afternoon. Very busy and performances, by local street artist were in full effect. Just another public park in New York that offers you to enjoy the human experience at its fullest. Just an amazing city in every way with its uos and downs there is only one NYC, and Union Square Park is yetvanother example of this. Cheers

Ive lived my whole life. Union square used to be pretty shady. Now with holiday fairs and farmers markets its much nice. Nice Cafe with pzza.too. great playground for kids. There are the odd derelict homeless hanging about but its worth a visit
Great Park, I usually grab food from the nearby restaurants and sit in the park and eat. There is a huge group of homeless people in the park but as long as you avoid them. You should be fine. There is bathrooms located on the north end of the park, although they are not the cleanest. They will do in an emergency.
Great playground here. It is gated. It has water fountains and restrooms. And small splash area. Great place to have a picnic and let the kids burn off some of that energy.
During week when not overly crowded. I still enjoy this park !

Thanks for a sunny and relatively warm day to shop at the green market. Fresh fish, some sourdough and a cheesecake were todays haul, but they have almost everything.
This park is an absolute treat. What a great place to sit and take in the atmosphere of the Big Apple. Theres a great dog run with plenty of friends for you furry one. There are outdoor markets several times a week. Barnes and Noble has restrooms available if you feel the need as well.
A good place in NY to relax or pass a date with your mate. Sometimes in the park are hold diferent public parties.
For every turn, for every season, whether stopping by or just in itself - every moment spent here is worthwhile.
Great park nice atmosphere,when there is no crime going on...but otherwise a cool place to hang and chill with your girl.

Its peaceful here. You meet wonderful people. It has a rich cultural history. You come, you learn and you relax. You also get walk with Ghandi and enjoy wonderful entertainment---for FREE!
Depends on the time of day, but there is a lot of smoking in this park. I dont recommend for families.
Even if you are a tourist, coming here on the way to Max Brenner or Blues Tropes Cacao is a good idea. There are seasonal markets with great food, deco, art and clothing.

The park is lovely, and you can truly appreciate it when you look at the beautifully landscaped area from the 6th floor at Burlington coat factory directly across the street. I have taken many a photo of the park in various seasons through the years. Its also nice to enjoy your lunch al fresco if the weather is amenable. Theres a dog park and a playground for kids that was recently renovated. But the reason for my rating is that in the last decade plus, Union Square has become Bizarro Central. Cultists, creeps and crooks of all stripes seem to be magnetically pulled to this area. Which takes away from ones enjoyment of a small natural oasis. I dont care to be dogged by Hare Krishna devotees peddling their literature, or being aggressively invited to play chess for money, or seeing wild skirmishes break out before my eyes. Bottom line is, I love the park itself but dont care for the vibe around the area even if Im there weekly if not more often.

The greenmarket here is incredible. I usually come Friday mornings but it’s always great with an amazing selection and great atmosphere.
One of my favorite Park in NYC. Always a good vibe there. A happening place, good for people watching and enjoying a coffee or drink in one of the many benches there.
Great area! High recommended. A 4 stories Barnes & Noble is across the street, Joes Pizza from Spiderman is a couple of blocks east on 14th Street. Harry Porter store is just north on 22nd St. and EATALY is on 23th which 8s an amazing Italian grocery store.
This is a lovely park that is so amazing for the city. The farmers market is truly the best part though. Make this a priority to visit to get some groceries and to drop off your food scraps to compost.

I just came back from Bangkok vacation and it was a thrill to see , Experience Thailand , at Union Square . I got to relive the awesome moments a little here . Wonderful selection of food and hot sauces , shows , spa, guides and history surrounding Thailand . Wonderful Experience.

This park is underrated on the NYC park scene. Amazing farmers market on friday. Amazing holiday bizarre in the Christmas season. Hot people. Homeless people. Rats. Dogs. McDonalds. Whole Foods. And a Nine Iron away from taco bell. If you cant enjoy Union Square, maybe you need to warm up your frozen dead heart, joseph stalin.
This used to be a drug infested park in the 80s but NYC cleaned it up and today it is a pretty nice place. Lots of different people are there and there is a whole foods across the street so you can get some food and eat at a park bench.
Clean and surrounded by trees. Has two water outlet. A bit small tho.
I really enjoyed seeing artwork handmade and imported from these vendors. We bought a few things, had conversations with people and enjoyed ourselves even on a crisp cold evening.

This park hosts special events throughout the year concerts,shopping venues,and one of my favorite events for the holidays. Which is their annual Holiday Village,where vendors set up some of the most unusual and eye catching pop-up shops displayed.

Such a cool little area. The Arch in the Park was so beautiful, the fountain and they had a guy making the biggest bubbles.
I love Union Square.It feels celebration of the arts, and humanity itself. On Easter morning, the local Milliners Guild was there doing a photo shoot, each decked out in amazing hats they made themselves. It brought me so much joy.My 18yo friend who loves chess got to play a quick game, and found the experience worth the $10 he had to bet to play.My group stopped at Whole Foods for lunch and drinks, and had a picnic in the park. It was perfect.The only thing I would change is knowing ahead of time where public restrooms were located. FYI: On the third floor of the Barnes and Noble is where you can find the closest public restroom.

Great public space for all ages and they host a fantastic farmers market year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays that is the largest farmers market in NYC.
I came here to meet a group of electric scooter riders for a group ride to Brooklyn. I arrived about an hour early and walked around the farmers market. I got some delicious peaches and a few cookies. I visited the dunken donuts across the street for coffee and then sat in the park to enjoy my snack while I waited. It was very pleasant.
Surrounded by Manhattan’s soulless asphalt and steel, this postage stamp park gives a much-needed reprieve to the rat race. Trees, benches, statuary (George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mohandas Gandhi and Marquis de Lafayette), a dog walk, playground, restaurant (Bocce), and the inveterate Greenmarket on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The only issue is the burgeoning homeless camp, the denizens of which panhandle everywhere to everybody.

Went during the holiday season. They got the holiday booths up selling a variety of things and food. They also still got the farmers market going on.
Its always a pleasure going by union Square Park, the various different activities that take place always peak my interest and most of all I love the farmers market, Fruits, vegetables, flowers, juices, cakes, honey etc. There is always something to learn and to se at Union Square.

Oh, and Ill add that this is the place where Mr. Green escapes out of the subway with his money through the emergency exit in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three(1974 version)

2021-12-02One of my favorite things in the city that I do almost every weekend is shopping for groceries at Grow NYC farmers market and chilling in Union Square Park for a bit with a coffee, baked good (usually a plain croissant or einkorn from one of the many wonderful baked goods stalls in the market) and a book for an hour or so. There are public restrooms there just in case. The energy is always lively with plenty of places to entertain yourself in the neighborhood.
