United States Postal Service in other cities:
I made an error sending a package which resulted in it getting hopelessly lost. Liz and Dale were so helpful when I was trying to figure out how to get it back, calling other post offices and helping me sort out the mess. They were so kind and took huge initiative to help me!
This post office is absolutely disgusting from their service all the way down to their professionalism. The workers here are very rude and have no consideration when it comes to their customers. They are constantly losing packages and then try to blame it on you. The first time they delivered my package to a completely different address and I had to run all around Manhattan to locate it. This second time was very aggravating because I stood at Window 15 for an hour only for one of the rudest employees there to come over and tell me he is not going to help me because it just hit 5:45 and they wanted to start closing. I am very understanding and do know that after a long day you just want to go home but I do not appreciate the way they approach or handle certain situations here. I made sure to call before I got there and when I did arrive (which was over an hour before closing) they completely pushed me to the side and had me wait for a supervisor that never showed up. I am so annoyed by this place and their employees. This post office is going down hill and fast. Their ratings arent good and almost all of their staff should be trained better when it comes to customer service. I never have issues with my packages from FedEx or UPS just USPS. I dont understand what is so hard about delivering a package to the correct address. If I could avoid using this post office I would and I would NEVER recommend this office to ANYONE!
This is by far the best post office Ive been to. I went two days in a row to ship over 200 small packages all over the country. The first day, Kim helped me with the entire process. She was a gem, so kind, helpful, efficient, funny and made the whole process far less painful than it could have been. The next day, I went earlier and the post office was empty. Three, yes three, women offered to help me process all of the packages. They must have saved me an hour at least. The supervisor at this location is great and keeps everyone calm and running smoothly. I cant stress it enough, go to this location if you can. Just avoid lunchtime if possible It is not their fault if everyone shows up at the same time. Even so, when I was there during lunchtime on the first day, they kept the line moving and were very helpful. Also, if you go in with a bad attitude, dont be surprised if thats what you get in return. But I promise you, if you show up here with a good attitude these amazing women will do everything they can to help you with whatever you need. Thank you Kim and everyone else!
Horrible customer service. Staff speaks to you rude and with an attitude. All I wanted to know was how to send certified mail. I was so fed up that I just left and went to UPS to send off my mail. This is not the first time I experienced this there. I definitely learned my lesson and will avoid this place at all cost.
Horrible horrible horrible. I ordered a package and have been ordering packages with the same address from my Amazon for the passed year. The person I ordered from this time utilized USPS and they fought with me about the address being wrong. They call me with a rude voice-mail about reporting an undeliverable package...I call back and she tells me an address o had never heard of. Rudely cuts me off every time I try to explain something, to at the end go off on a rant about how you cant have personal mail send to a business. Im like since when!? I and other people on my office put our name and address as the receiving party and FedEx and ups has no problems as long as the floor is correct. My company does not want us to put the company name on personal items and no one has a problem with is but lovely USPS. I called when they said it was undeliverable and forcibly told them the company name, and it was still rendered undeliverable. I never have a good experience with any USPS...I feel like they have slacked off and just do not want to deliver mail. On top of this...I wasnt even given the option to pick up my package before they sent it back to the sender. No package and nothing but attitude and rude remarks.
I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a package that keeps being returned to 10003 Cooper Station post office. Every Morning it goes out for deliver, and every evening it comes back undeliverable. When I call, I get placed on hold or transferred to simple minded non assistive persons who make sarcastic comments. These are American Federal employees who are not concerned in the least with helping Americans. They should be ashamed, but with such small mental faculties, I’m sure they feel they are doing a great Job. This is what happens when a Federal Service has zero accountability.UPS or FEDEX. From Now On
Called this locations customer service directly to locate a missing package that they claimed was delivered per the advice of the main customer help line (rep was very kind and helpful) to call the very next day. The person who spoke with me was less than friendly and was not even willing to look up my ticket since it had not been 24 hours, which was his canned response to each question I asked. USPS really should work to improve its customer service and package tracking (claimed it was put into my locked mailbox, when the items were not there).
If I could give this section 8 sham of a post office a zero I would. The supervisor decided that she would implement a 5pm cutoff for international which is against usps policy. When confronted, he then proceeded to berate me at the top of his voice and question why I waited until the last minute and he wanted to home. What a disgraceful human being
These employees are so rude... they seem to be really board with their jobs, and very rude to the customers. I work nearby and have to mail stuff out sometimes. I used this USPS a few times and every time I have a horrible experience, the first two times the staff yelled at me just for asking a question, it seems like they expect all the costumers to know exactly what they are doing... they were so inpatient with me! Today, the employee was not helpful and rude as well
Terrible phone customer service. I wanted to ensure a package was delivered because my online tracking details provided minimal details and the employee could not even be bothered to help and kept repeating that my package would be delivered to me even though my information clearly stated it could be picked up at the post office. I then call customer service and peak to a wonderful agent who says the package is at this location. I go to this location and speak to an extremely rude, older, white gentleman where you pick up parcels who told me it wasnt here and was out for delivery. What the hell?
I had a great experience here yesterday (Thursday) morning. I came in right at 9AM with seven envelopes I needed Certified with return receipt requested. There was no line and the counter employee gave me the forms I needed. Another employee on the floor helped explain to me how to fill them out. When I was done, the counter employee immediately took me back at her window and processed my order. Very easy!
WOW I have never encountered such an awful experience with any post office. Called to try and track a package te first time and the lady was very nice but the problem was not solved. Called back and was on the phone holding for over 20 minutes. Called back and get no answer. Really how do you work like that. I cant believe how people get jobs like this to help people and they do the opposite. This is one of the worst experience I have ever had. This POST OFFICE is the worst. I pray that things get better
Just left this post office; Extremely rude lady working behind the counter. 10 minutes til closing time and she kept going on and on about how processing my package was too much work and would take too much time. Each time she said it, she looked me in the eye to make sure I understood how much trouble I was making her go through.Im here to just drop off my package, why did I receive a side of attitude and complaint.Left because I didnt want her to assist me anymore. Especially since she clearly didnt want to do the work.
Mixed feelings about this specific post office. Grateful that they were able to get my package for me when I went to pick it up. Really really really annoyed that I had to pick it up in the first place since they couldnt manage to deliver it to me... I paid a good amount of money for a Metro Post Same Day Delivery service on an urgent package, but then was dissapointed when I got a tracking update saying they couldnt deliver because the business was closed... which wasnt true. So I headed over to the post office down the street to see if by some miracle they could give me my package. I didnt have high expectations going into the situation. The woman at the counter was friendly (although a tad grumpy that I came in with such a request minutes before they closed) and had me write down my information so she could go find it. Then she picked up an intercom and screamed my full name, full address, company, and tracking number out over the loudspeaker for all in the post office to hear.... embarrassing, but it worked because a few minutes later someone cam walking over with my package in hand..
This post office is constantly losing my packages and takes no responsibility! The lady that Id spoke, tried to hang up the phone after talking for less than 2 minutes. She said she needs to go home and dont want to hear anymore about the case. It was a month ago and today they lost my package again... Cant believe it... This place needs to be investigated throughly by higher authorities. Im totally disgusted...
I recently mailed a package to Jersey City at the kiosk and forgot to take the receipt. So I was unable to track the package that went to a client. I called the 4th Ave. branch and spoke to Kirk. He was beyond helpful! He patiently listened to my dilemma and after some stellar sleuthing found the transaction and gave me the tracking #! Thank you Kirk!!
Worst experience ever. Forwarded my mail over 3 weeks ago. Still havent received anything (same zip code!). I called to ask for an update (as there is a critical piece of mail I am expecting); to which I heard that the carrier was on vacation for 3 weeks and nobody knows where my mail is. When I asked for a path to resolution, none was provided to me. On a visibly irritated and entitled tone. she told me I should consider it lost by now. Unreal.
This is a great post office! A week before Christmas I called from Philly trying to find a package I had sent to my daughter’s previous address by mistake. They put me on the phone with the carrier and amazingly in a few days here comes my package back to Philly! They were awesome!
Just left this post office and I had an amazing experience with Paula! I didn’t know what kind of packaging I needed and before I even asked for help she gladly assisted. Filled with such positive energy and radiance. She should be running customer service for all locations. Thanks Paula!
This is the best post office I have ever known. The staff is always helpful and treat their customers with respect. I have very often witnessed them going out of their way to assist the elderly, non English speakers and anyone in need. They certainly deserve more than five stars and if there is an award for the best Post Office they should receive that one also.O
🇺🇸 🗽 🇺🇸 Happy SpringTime nyc 20 🗽 🇺🇸 🗽 21Year 🐂 🐄 of the 🐮 Ox 🐮 4719Very pleasant staff and extremely helpful. I always have an excellent time when I visit this branch. The Post Office located at 4th Avenue and East 11th Street is in a really old structure from the yesteryear. The building is a semi circle on the outside, because the inside is build like a rotunda. Made of solid whatever it was build out of.The service was excellent. I got to Window No. XX, and was greeted by a very nice lady.I had an envelope addressed to sone Federal Agency, but the envelope did not have glue or tape on it to secure the contents inside. I asked the lady if I may have some tape to close the envelope. She gave me a lecturer about the Post Office not supplying tape and whatnots for the customers, and the custoners must have whatever they are mailing ready wheb approaching the windowAs the lady was giving me the lecture, she waa getting rhe tape to secure my envelope to the Federal Agency.Very lovely lady.
Scanned my package delivered when it was never sent out. Dont bother trying to fix anything over the phone they will not help you and put you on hold for hours (after which they will hang up). My issue was resolved when I went in person to find that the package was being delivered a whole different day than the tracking number said.
Ive been using this post office for over 15 yrs, and today I received the WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!! The attendant manipulated the floor manager Mr. Dillon and he was dumb enough not to see through it.....it was so clear that the attendant ( annoyed that I didnt get her name) is a LAZY WOMAN, she clearly did not want to take care of my purchase and the books I need to mail. Last week a different attendant breezed through the same amount of books that I need to mail. No one waited any longer in line....the world didnt stop functioning because she helped me. It seemed that this week this other lazy woman deemed it too much for her to handle. I GIVE THIS SERVICE AND THE STUPIDITY OF THESE TWO EMPLOYEES NEGATIVE 100%
I dont ever write reviews but Ive come here for years and the service I got last week was truly disgusting. I came in trying to get a money order and paid some cash and tried to use a cash app card but the app was down and my card was having issues. The asian woman with long hair who took me literally kept yelling about how I didnt have the money over and over and instead of voiding the transaction she took someone else. I held my hand out to recieve the cash and she just laid it all out on the scale like I didnt just have my hand out. And another asian worker tried to defend her. Theres only one person I go to now. The workers here used to be so professional but if she isnt there I wont go. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
The people here are extremely rude.I encountered 3 disgusting people here bent on bringing their poor attitudes to the rest of the world by being Extremely rude to customers.I think they dont wear nametags or hide heir badges so people cant name them in complaints, so I snapped their photos for the review.Couldnt get the third person.I am so sorry the USPSs reputation must be dragged through the sewer by these nasty people.
Youll get the good, the bad and the ugly with this place, and it never really gets too ugly. The best thing about 11th is the employees are all very knowledgeable and can save you money on shipping and the like. Some are a bit surly, some are super nice. At peak times, lines can be long, though not always slow. But there are additional self-serve posts you can use there, so if your labels and postage are together, use those.I love that its in an older NY building. Those places are going fast.
While the exterior might not suggest much, this is a humongous postal office with lots of service and helpers. I have been to this post office three times and all the times I had helpful USPS workers help me getting packages mailed where there needed to be. Unlike some other postal offices nearby the service here is second to none.
Appalling service. Better postal service is available in any third world country. I dropped off a package in one of the large boxes inside the office.... Correct postage, digitally purchased from the USPS. The box disappeared. Gone forever. When Ive had to stand in line, wait times are often well over 20 minutes. You can be at the +front+ of the line and still find yourself waiting 5 or 10 minutes, as you watch 5 or 6 postal employees mill around at the speed of a slow sloth. The only post office Ive experienced that is worse than this is the 7th Ave Park Slope location in Brooklyn. But at least the employees are reasonably friendly there.
Listen: everyone knows the USPS is a miserable mire of awful attitudes mixed with an extra helping of honey, that aint my job, but lord have mercy this location takes the cake. come here for a good laugh at the abhorrent lack of customer service, stay for the woman in front (literally) yelling at customers that the postal service loses packages all the time...I hope yours aint one of them. heaven help us.
This post office has such a wonderful staff, so courteous and professional that they all are. I went there last Friday, 15 mins before closing time,. They were so friendly and assisted me to the max, gave me the forms that I needed plus lots of info as to where to go to process passport and time the place closes, and items to bring there.... I really appreciate all that they did., Makes one feel good to have personnel so professional working there..... Outstanding staff....
I had a terrible experience here trying to ship a Poshmark package. I used the priority mail flat rate box and was very meanly told I couldn’t use it to ship, even though I’ve mailed several packages before with it. I checked online and Poshmark allows shipping with priority mail flat rate boxes because of an agreement with USPS. I guess the workers here weren’t educated about it. In any case, the lady was incredibly rude — would not recommend shipping Poshmark packages here.
Awful. Lost my 2-day priority package for over three days and caused me to miss an important deadline. No sympathy or coordination of customer service after 2 visits to the post office and 3 phone conversations. Total discord and lack of caring about customer needs. The institution is totally broken.
Great experience here. Very nice staff and very helpful. When they saw I needed a pen they went out of their way to get me one. When I walked up to the line they were very friendly and very helpful with what I needed. There was an employee walking through the line that was (politely) making sure everyone was prepared when they got to the front and then they would take care of any of the small purchases right then and there.Very professional.
Haha Ive been on hold for 22 minutes and still counting. The receptionist who picked up sounded genuinely angry that she had to pick up the phone again. When I asked her that I wanted to talk to a specific person, she put me on hold, and Im still here. If they lost my package, then they should be trying to fix it. Why the hell am I on hold for eternity because of their screw-up?If I could give fewer stars, I would.
Can I give a negative score? I’m shocked by how poorly I was treated today. I came at the end of the day, so I understand they are rushed. I was harassed by the person that runs the zip line. They went from 0 to 60 and would not allow me to ask a simple question. Yelling at me so loudly that everyone around was looking at us and I never once raised my voice at them. They continued to bad mouth me within earshot. Then they accuse me of badgering them because I really wanted an answer to a question that I’m allowed to ask. I wanted them to do their job, and I was so uncomfortable that I went to someone else. I was brushed off by most of the employees when I asked for a manager and for the employee’s name. I was told there was no manager around. (Which I don’t believe). Across the board so much anger today. They all need to take a moment and breathe. That whole situation, even if they found me annoying, was completely mishandled. Bleh. Be better.
Package marked as delivered despite it not arriving. So I call these folks to sort it out. BIG MISTAKE.Combative and rude employees. Trash, subpar service. Lady answers phone and without any tracking info present, she immediately confirmed that it was delivered, saying “if we marked it as delivered, it was delivered.” I am at home, it was not. I pressed her, she told me “there are bigger things in life to worry about.” Lol wut? I gave her my address, she found the package at the facility, and despite being incorrect, threatened SHE WOULDNT DELIVER MAIL. Seriously? Postmaster needs to inspect this infestation. Time to take out the trash. Look at the other reviews, yikes.
When our regular carrier has the day off, the temp mail person doesnt even bother to sort the mail. I see 4 different names in my box and a lot more that are not even in a mail box. Many residents of E 20th St betw Park and Broadway have complained to our carrier and even to the post office supervisor and staff but nothing gets done. Ive been here for decades and this was never allowed to happen before. Totally unacceptable. Negligent. the temp and the supervisor should not have more responsibility than they are capable of handling.
8-10 minutes per customer in line, over an hour wait, the clerks would disappear for over 10 minutes between customers. About 50 people in line total one man was working the entire time. People started to get upset at customers for asking questions about their personal issues. Horrible! Transferring my packages to UPS instead of having to deal with this again.
What a sad world these people must inhabit that they cannot treat customers with any courtesy or respect you would give any human being. Avoid the staff if you can and use the self service machines! the next time I need help with shipping I will go to FedEx or UPS to avoid the negative vibes plaguing this place.
I wish I could give this location no stars. I use this post office about once a week and seem to have an issue with the staff each time. Horrible customer service that will just flat out tell you NO without offering any kind of solution to your question/inquiry. My most recent visit the woman actually turned her back to me when I asked her to clarify something.
I moved my office Jan. 1st, 2016 and sent a change of address form online to the 4th Ave Post Office. 3 weeks later I sent another form since I had not received any forwarded mail. A month after that I sent another form. As of today, June 9th, 2016 I have not received one piece of forwarded mail. But I am getting calls from insurance companies saying my checks are being returned to them by the postal service. I have never had service this bad in my 74 years!
Absolutely worst customer service I have ever encountered! I tried to submit a change of address online and it said the billing address wasnt correct...even though it was. So I went to the post office in person and dropped off my change of address form and they told me theyd process it. It has been a month now and I havent received any mail at my new address. I have tried calling at least 10 times yesterday and today; the people who answer are extremely rude and just transfer me, only to put me on hold and then hang up. Half of the time no one even answers the phone! Completely ridiculous...
I keep a PO Box here because its closer than my home PO in Brooklyn, by subway. I love Cooper Square. Its ever more dilapidated, but it still has the bones of a great pre-war Post Office, back when we were proud of our Post Offices. Way before Newt Gingrich and others started dismantling civil society. Save the Post Office!
HORRIBLE customer service! I was put on hold 3 times for more then an hour all because of the mailman delivered my package to the wrong address and now my package is gone. The lady that initial picked up the phone sounded angry right off the back and the gentleman she transferred me to was even worse! They need to change their staff ASAP
I live in the Bronx right near the Gleason Ave. Post Office. I sometimes hold my packages until I get to New York City, because if the people who gave low scores here want to see rude & incompetent Gleason Wins hands down. I gave three Stars for Cooper Station because at least they keep the line moving and smile occasionally.
This place is hit or miss. They have several of the Automated machines which is a hit but when you need to speak to a counter clerk beware. Dont come into this or any other post office in the city for that matter, while youre in a hurry.Hope your phone is charged and you have a couple of emails to go through it may take away.

2022-02-04Cooper Station is a great post office. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. I love this post office very much and Im so grateful it is close by and still in the neighborhood. I dont know what Id do without them. Ive been going here for years and I think the staff is the greatest. They treat you respectfully and are willing to explain how to use the machines if you dont want to wait in line. I recommend it highly.

2022-05-23I never thought Id give 5 stars to a post office, but my experience here was actually amazing.I needed to renew a passport, and came in with my paperwork ready but a bit nervous that I would follow the steps perfectly. One of the employees scooped me up, walked me through the entire process (she even had the ZIP code of the passport facility memorized), and got me on my way. In and out in

2022-03-29Ive always had pretty good experiences here! Sometimes it seems like the employees have had a long day, but I can understand that. My only real complaint is that I wish the place was better kept. The building itself is basically a historic landmark!

2021-08-25This post office is not the worst however I have had bad experiences with some situations. I do not know who the mail delivery person(s).For business mail, they deliver the mail as addressed to the business. I have gotten some of my mail at a PO Box that I had access to however I have a lot of problems on my end changing my address in different systems. For business mail they do not honor mail holds and when mail (from the business) is returned; I do not think they realize that there was a change of address order however instead of honoring the order submitted; they have time and time again dent mail to the dead mail center or returned to sender.I do not know what practices are for handling dead mail and mail parcels including my Drivers License have been lost in the system of thr USPS. If I were to complain, I would be called crazy or since I look the way that I do; am discriminated against as if I am a threat to them.Aside from that, they do their job. Ive spoken to staff numerous times however I do not think they communicate or record internally fluidly.I have had problems not receiving my mail and need to resolve these mattersm. I am working to simply circumstances whereas mail carriers can simply deliver mail as addressed or operate as they are now when I have completed transitions from needs and dependence receiving my mail at the business location of my former group home.

2021-09-24The post office is the worst Ive ever been, I have no other words to describe it. Staff is not very mean and not helpful at all. They made me stay in line for 24 minutes just to ask a question, because I didnt know which envelope I have to use. Workers are lazy and, just talking to each other while at least 10 people stayed in line inside and many more outside the post office. They are very rude and not polite at all with customers just ordering them around.I had to spend at least 45 minutes just to mail a package.

2022-03-14I walked in and stepped into and through the “service line” to be helped. When a teller opened up I walked up to her and was told to go to the “back of the line” where two new people now stood. According to the signs I followed I was at the beginning of the line, there was no one else in line. I calmly tried to explain this to the woman and she loudly told me WITHOUT listening “PLEASE GO TO THE BACK OF THE LINE”. So now I got behind of the two people standing at back of the line and ironically, moments later I was asked to step forward by THE SAME WOMAN even though there was a man in front of me. Meanwhile she was pretty unhelpful with a basic question about stamps. I get we’re in NYC but work on your customer service and attitude a little. Shameful.
