United States Postal Service in other cities:
Every time I’ve come here I’ve received exceptional service. I wasn’t expecting it all bc of all these terrible reviews. Everyone is so helpful, efficient , quick, professional and not to mention very friendly. They also have several drop off boxes that are located throughout that even fit large packages. It’s on the second floor but there is an elevator as soon as you walk in and fits my child’s stroller comfortably. I actually do not mind coming here at all.
Passport office is completely understaffedTerrible hours (10-3 at time of posting)Staff is slow and unproductive causing huge backupsStaff is unfriendly and unreceptiveDo NOT expect to get passport done over a lunch break. It took me 1.5 hours just to hand in my forms
What all post offices should b like. Very spacious area. Plenty of staffed windows and limited wait even during lunch hour. Very helpful staff even have separate passport area near front by North entrance. They even will take your picture here cost $15 but well worth it you know they will not question if you can use it for passport. Oh did I mention late and early hours plus open 24 hours out of hours self service machines available!
As far as USPS offices go for me this is 5 star. Its open early 8am closes late 8pm have used it many times never much of a queue. Compared to my local USPS offices in south Brooklyn this place is a dream. If you want to have a true 1 star USPS experience come visit 11235 (zero star if I could rate)
Ive been a couple of times now, and the people who work here are so pleasant, which is hard to come by at a USPS. I worked with Penny last time I was there and she was awesome. I loved how all of the employees spoke to each other with respect and how willing they were to help customers.
Huge building. The upper floors being offices with 30% of the ground floor dedicated to posting. (60% of that space was to enable customers to pack, address, weigh and post their own mail). Two counters open. No queues... then again no people!! Is this what post offices will look like in the future?😢
This review is only related Passport Renewal for Minor, my experience with the postal agents regarding mail services is always professional. Unfortunately this is not true with the Passport Agents. This is two stars rather than one as this was a better experience than the last time but still a broken system. Instructions on website are unclear and contradict instruction from Postal Passport agents. They will take every opportunity with this to degrade you. Though some agents are worse than others. Keep in mind the rules change an these are only helpful if you are about to renew you childs passport, here are some tips to make it less dehumanizing: (1) there is an imaginary line you must not cross, so stay to the left of the agent (your left facing the agent), otherwise you will annoy the agent though there was no one else and others were waiting outside the area; (2) not found on the website but photocopies of parents US Passports should be B&W and only the inside part with the information. No need to copy the outside cover; (3) Bring your childs birth certificate and a B&W copy of the certificate (copy both sides if there is useful info on the back). The instructions state that the agent will take the original but our agent gave ours back and demanded a copy, as if we were trying to make this process more painful that it is... luckily we had a copy; (4) bring a check for the state department payment only - the website did state this and use your credit card for the post office; and (5) dont repeat what the instructions to the your child from the agent... she gets upset that you try to help things along. Its her job to degrade you.
My experience at this specific Postal office was great. The customer support supervisor was extremely helpful. To provide more context I was receiving unwanted mail to my place of residence and wanted it to stop. I found a form online that I was to fill out and present to my local postal office. Unfortunately the response I received from the Ryder station in Brooklyn was verbatim I dont know what this is. Just throw out the unwanted mail. I felt that answer was unacceptable and attempted to present the form to other Postal offices in Brooklyn. Though the response wasnt the same they were unfamiliar with the form as well and were unable to assist. I went to the larger Postal Facility in the Financial District area (90 Church St). When speaking with the Customer Service Supervisor she stated that she wasnt familiar with the form either but she took the time review the instructions and fill out her portion of the form and provided me a copy for my records. The whole process took 30 minutes including the wait on line. As a fellow customer service employee myself it is unrealistic to believe that anyone would be well versed in all company policies or forms, but taking the time to understand the process and providing a solution is what makes a great Customer service employee. I thank the Postal Service team @ Church St. (Lina and Betty)
This is the worst passport renewal experience mankind can have. Only a handful of people in front of me and you’ll wait hours. Doesn’t matter if you have everything ready. It’s a test of will. Gotta love the job security, so happy employees into today’s world can still work with no pressure, great hours, great benefits and no customer service. You can ponder about how great our country is while you literally feel your body get numb while waiting. Pee, eat, do a full body stretch before you get in line. Good luck. I’m still waiting on line.
Avoid this location at all costs. Here is why:I paid for next day delivery three weeks ago, and my mail has neither reached its destination nor returned to me. This post office held my 1-day priority mail for two weeks before shipping it to the NY Mid-Distribution Center. They never reached out to inform me about the delay or to explain the delay, even though I created an investigation request.Furthermore, contacting their postmaster is not an option because their telephone is never answering. These people chose not to do their job and, frankly, entirely get away with it. Creating a service request with USPS and complaining to the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General was not helpful. I will never ship anything important by USPS from now on because if a problem arises, there is no one to turn to. Its more like fighting a mob experience, and you are on your own.
I only have good things to say about this post office. Weve been coming here for years and always have pleasant, fast service. Usually, going to the post office isnt some grand adventure but these guys keep the mood light and consistently go out of their way to be friendly.Shout out especially to Hank for helping out always!
I went to this post to renew my kids passports. I arrived there at 3 pm and there were approximately 10 people waiting to get new passports. There was only one clerk at the work station. He did the best he could to speed up the process but unfortunately there is only so much a single individual can do. Mean while the regular post office lines were empty and they had so many clerks open waiting on people to come in. They need at least another person to assist in the passport area. It was approximately 3 and half hours later and we were still waiting on line. I have no complaints about the clerk, just the fact they are undermanned in this specific area. If the passport area is understaffed and the other area is overly staffed it’s only fair they relocate another person to help Robert Bazik. Clerk Robert Brazik was great, the passport area just needs additional personel in order to get the line to move at a faster pace.
Uncle Sam, just fire or replace the passport office worker at this location. I would put 0 rating if I could. We visited this office to renew our child’s passport and had 7~8 people ahead of us and there was only one worker who handles the passport, and we ended up waiting for 5 hours. We checked it on our iPhone timer - in average, the worker takes 40 minutes to process a customer. 40 minutes. Can you believe it? We are living in the 21st century and a document making would take almost an hour. Great job, Uncle Sam.
Np problem with this Post Office Facility. It is spacious and plenty of windows open in order to assist customers. When the lines get too long their USPS Representatives walking around to assist and pulling ppl off the lines and sending them to a specific window to speed through services. Now as for the passport services, I see the line usually be all the way out the door almost to the steps. I have never had an issue with the passport services because I have only used the form; I took care of everything else via mail and online. I dont understand why they do not have extra personnel to guide people into what they need in order to have all the proper documents so they can go through this side of passport process as quickly as possible. I would advise if at all possible just do stuff online and via mail. No need to waste your time standing on a line for an hour.
Came here today to do my passport. There was only one person working so if you do not come in at exactly 10:00 when they open, youll be waiting for a while!I came at 10:01 and I didnt finish until close to 12 because of the three people ahead of me that were confused as of what they needed and held up the line. The one person working was very nice and helpful but the one was just crazy even though we arrived exactly on the dot. It took 25-40 minutes per person.PLEASE keep in mind to have a copy of your ID card, birth certificate, SSN so they can confirm you wrote your form write and make sure to bring your originals too. They will not make copies for you there.Make sure to fill out the forms before you get there to make lines faster and also have your pictures cut out 2x2.There was seats on the side but unless you have another person there with you, youll have to stand for a while.Overall, everything went very well! I was satisfied with the person working there and helping me! Just wished it was faster was all!Total would be $145 for standard passport. They accept debit card with pin, credit card, money order, check and cash which is amazing!
There is a staff member assisting people in the lobby/self-serve area for small requests like buying envelopes or other packing materials not out in the display, and to answer questions at the self-service stations. One particular woman was very fast and helpful.I also usually go just after 9 am or in the afternoon and its usually not too busy with about 3-5 windows open. I have had very good experiences here.
Only 1 person is working in the passport office and theres a line stretching outside the room. Its taking at least 20-30 minutes to process each person (and they only open 5 hours a day). This is allegedly a walk in passport office but realistically cannot be used for walk in service unless you have time to wait all day. Its pathetic that the US State Department and the USPS care so little about providing such an important service. And once I get to the front of the line I get to pay $145 for the privilege of waiting like this!
In some ways Im not surprised about the poor reviews, post offices are notorious for their slow service. That being said, I stopped by pretty early on Saturday morning and had a lovely time. The inside was really cool looking, there was only a couple people ahead of me in line, and the clerk was very helpful. Granted Im pretty happy that its the only time Ive needed to go in the last year, but Im glad it was a good experience.
This place is the worse postal service ever. I went there to apply for my passport and there were 5-6 people in front of me. The lady thinks that it is ok for every single person to fill out their application and take their time even though theyre supposed to do that before they get there. She even took passport pictures for people that had not done that. One application took her ok average 50 minutes, no exaggeration. She waited for 2 people in front of me to go home nearby because they had forgotten their children’s birth certificate. I dont usually leave reviews but I wanted to help somebody that reads this to save their time. She is also very arrogant.
Great experience. Came here Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm to drop off a letter and a priorty mail envelope. Checked with a window representative if the envelope being rigid was an issue, and it wasnt and checked if there was enough postage for the letter, and it wasnt. Added 21 cents in postage. She was very pleasant and sweet, did not mind the questions or the time it took weigh the letter and to add more postage. There were two other cashiers helping customers so the line was very short.
The most HORRIBLE service I have ever received! To say this is a FEDERAL building the customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!!! I visited this location on June 21,2018 to get a new passport. I waited in line 15 minutes before they opened at 10am. The receptionist was late so I went to the window to advise the staff it was after 10. The woman responded in a condescending tone that the office did not open until 10 and then realized it was already after 10am. I received no apologies for her abruptness. When I returned back to the center, the humility began. The receptionist who was already late was EXTREMELY RUDE! The man in front of me wanted to ask certain questions about his application but because he was not applying for a new passport she immediately disregarded him and his concerns. I was shocked. After she dismissed him I was next. When I stepped up to the counter I asked which documents I needed to submit. She rudely responded that I should have read the first page. She then began to dismiss me because I did not have copies of my documents. I anxiously asked her where I could get them done immediately and how long the process for her to process my application would take and she repeatedly dismissed me out of the line. After receiving HORRIBLE customer service i informed her that her attitude sucked. She then began yelling at me in front of other customers telling me would not assist me when I returned. Shocked at her behavior, I went to look for a manager. The manager was shocked as well and assisted me with the copies and advised I return back to the line. I felt intimidated but I insisted on receiving the service I was there to receive. When I returned back, again she yelled she was not going to assist me. i patiently waited until it was my turn and she refused to assist me. I began recording how she behaved. I have video evidence of the attitude and discriminating behavior she displayed. She provided ok service to future Caucasian customers but gave the African American customers POOR service! I was in disbelief. I can go on about the rest of the story but I plan to escalate this service to corporate and the better business bureau. I have her name, video evidence, as well as a returned phone call from the manager who swept this under the rug and allowed such behavior.
This is crazy! Waiting for hours to renew my daughters passport. One person at the window. She does everything. This time she even takes photo. Last time they told us that they are not taking pictures at this location. This is insane. We as a citizens of this country do deserve better treatment.
I have a huge negative experience with the Bowling Green PO Box section. Ever since hurricane Sandy hit, everything changed for the worse. They are supposedly open until 5pm at the packages pick-up office, but now its a lottery. Many times I had to come back again and again, only to find nobody worked there, especially after 11am. Once, I even asked security guards to look for the personnel inside, and not even them could find anybody. Its outrageous. A friend of mine was lucky enough to catch the manager once and tell her that as any normal business, you always have to replace people when someones missing, so that customers will not have to suffer, especially customers that are paying for these services, like all of us. She babbled something, but clearly she missed the point, as things havent changed yet. They still do the same lousy job regarding packages, but I stopped delivering over there for my own peace of mind. Anyway, I thought that at least they are able to put the right mail in the right box, at the right time. I guess I was wrong about that either: during the month of November I finally received my mail from September. How is this possible, and what are these people doing over there all day long??? And how come the manager and her manager are basically mocking all the customers by not providing the services that we pay for? As for me, I have already opened another PO Box at a location where employees are always available and very professional. So, folks, think twice before renting a box at this Post Office.
First of all: Yesterday I waited for about an hour and a half - with ALL necessary forms completed & necessary documents as stated on the state department website. I get to the front of the line and because I didnt have a photocopy of my ID she would not complete my application!!!! I said 1. The State Dept. website doesnt require that and 2. Can you please make a photocopy? I will pay for the page it costs. Nope. Nope. Nope. So rude. She told me to to come back AND to throw salt into the wound she says, come back with a copy & you have to wait in line. Added that last part as if she got pleasure from ruining my day.NEXT: It is such a well-staffed office everywhere except the passport line. SO FRUSTRATING. They are the HUB POST OFFICE for all of downtown NYC and they seem to believe that staffing ONE human in the passport line is sufficient. It seems to take at LEAST 10 minutes per person - so if youre talking about a 6 person line (not even that bad) were talking at least an hour wait!! You would be able to literally cut wait times in half if only you put one more person at the window. OH and not to mention their hours are insane - 10-3 - you have a 5 hour window! Not to mention the man working today also decided that he was going to laugh, make small talk, walk from behind the counter for every person, aka prolong the visits that much more!!!! So infuriating.
So I scheduled my priority mail for pick up 2 days ago, not only the mailman didn’t pick up my mail the next day but I got a pick up confirmation in my email says the my package was successfully pick up. I mean what exactly did he pick up since he didn’t even bother to ring the doorbell while my instruction was specifically says to ring the door bell.Long story short, I waited in line in this post office and the staff said to herself,” it’s a different zip code.” Seems surprised why did I drop it off here? She wasn’t even asking me, just said that to herself. And I said I scheduled the pick up, but the mailman didn’t show up. She said to me, “No, the pick up for priority mail is not free.” I’m sure it’s free otherwise I wouldn’t schedule it since it clearly says it’s free on the usps.com. But I didn’t feel like arguing with her so I told her the mailman didn’t show up, so anyway. She looked at me like I’m funny. I also have 3 regular letters which I already applied the stamps, so I asked her If I can drop off together with the package. She said, “No, you know what mail drop is? That is where it goes.”Um, Yeah I know what mail drop is, you’re super helpful. Thanks!
Im not the person who likes to write review but I feel like I have to write review this time. Last week I visited this place for passport and there was a line not too long so I felt lucky. I though it will be done in 20 min. No joke. I waited for an hour at least. there was only like 5 people in ahead but I still had to wait that long. There was only one lady who was working (no actually talking...). She talked to each customers at least 20 min. She was talking to one lady for almost 30 min. It wasnt even about passport. That lady started to sing a song while she was working, plus when it was finally my turn, she started to do video chat with her son. Unbelievable!!! Really terrible. The worst part is I asked for photo for passport and she took pic of me. It came out really horrible quality. Im not talking about how I look in the pic. Im talking about quality. Whole pic was super orange and she still put it on my documents. I doubt it will be ok but I believed her since she works there and that is her job. Today I got email my photo is rejected. Basically I wasted my 2hrs for her small(but freakin long) talks and video chat, singing and my $15 for photo, and I have to waste another $20 for another photo and mailing. Thanks a lot, lady. I should have remembered your name.
I would like to give them a zero or minus rating if possible. The stupid woman sits behind No. 12 desk sent my documents to my own address but not the place I send to. The delay will let me suffer more than one hundred dollars loss. I went to their office again. They even did not apologize. The agents there told me that it was the machine to read the address. I wrote down To and From addresses Cleary with another tracking certified mailing note which included the mailing address as well. Is she blind? Or cannot read English? If everything can be done by machines, why we need the stupid person sit there? For what? Their services sucks and attitudes are even worse. I will never go to there!
Worst customer experience ever. I was served by a young woman who was obviously unsatisfied and frustrated by her job: she didnt say a word to me and processed my envelope as if she was doing me a favor instead of the task she is paid for. When I asked her where I could see the tracking number (first time I used USPS as I am a foreigner) she replied to me On the receipt. Took her literally 2 minutes to point me the tracking number and her attitude was something beyond disrespectful. This is the last time I use USPS: better to spend 3 times as much but send packages via the Fedex next door. Unacceptable that the girl I dealt with has a customer-facing job.
My favorite post office in Manhattan, possibly the country. The beautiful Art Deco interiors make you feel like you are in a civilized public building. I rarely have to wait more than a few minutes, if I time it right. And the associates are always helpful. I look forward to coming here every time.
Worst service ever. They let people who can’t even put a label on their envelope cut in the line a hundred times and doubted if I am the next. Are you blind?????? Make your eyes function.Service is rude. The staff kept mumbling and complaining her own stuff and said ”put your thing in” to tell me to pay. What language is that? As mentioned in other reviews, they have difficulty giving people proper instructions.
I go way out of my way to go to this USPS location because of how many self service kiosks it has. Makes it so easy to process a ton a small packages on my own, and outside of the holiday season theres hardly ever a wait. The layout inside is really pretty, too. I always feel fancy when I walk in 😎
Ok Ill start with the negative - I came in to apply for my passport and had to wait in line for over 2 hours. With that being said, the man who helped me was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was he extremely friendly and even cracking a few jokes while completing the paperwork, he went out of his way to offer suggestions. I am traveling to India in a couple of months and he suggested what I should and shouldnt get (expedited service but no need for overnight delivery) but he also spoke with me about getting a visa.Unfortunately I did not catch the mans name, but he made for a very pleasant experience minus the wait!
I havent been to EVERY post office in the US, yet I feel safe saying that this is the WORST P.O. in the country. Slow service and, I swear, counter workers who simply MAKE UP excuses not to take your mail/packages - these people arent following rules, theyre deliberately trying to convince customers that its a mistake to visit this place. Ive dropped off packages that were properly addressed and stamped and had them come back to me for not having enough postage on them - taken those SAME PACKAGES WITH THE EXACT SAME POSTAGE to other locations and asked clerks there if the packages were ok to ship and was told they were fine! This has happened TWICE! Clerks at other branches cant figure out why the packages got sent back to me and theyre happy to take em and send em on their proper way. Im not one of those cranky anti-union guys, but jeez! This place demonstrates everything thats wrong with unions and the civil service.
I would have rated ZERO star for it! They lost my package which was a pre-paid merchandise return package. It was $600!!!! I went to the store to check and the only answer was they dont know whats going on. (As if its not their job to figure out whats going on) Very frustrated with their service. So if you want to lose your package, definitely come here.
Customer service reps at this post office apparently hate their lives. I ask politely how the rep is doing and she literally ignores me and after taking her time to look at her phone she looks up and says what do you want? Seriously, if that woman worked for me she would be fired as soon as she finished processing my mail. What an embarrassment. This is why people hate this specific post office.
The mail is never delivered on time to our building. It can range from 1Pm to 7PM or not delivered at all. Today is a perfect example, it is now 5:45 and the mail is sitting in three cartons in the mail room floor. The mail person said they would be right back and never came! You wonder why the Post office is loosing money, just look at the employees attitude and it explains it all.
The worst customer service in my experience. They lost my wifes birthday present after initially delivering it to the wrong address. It took them days trying to locate it again, to end up telling me they have no clue where it went. Called the customer service line to speak with the representative responsible for locating it Ms. Lebron was hung up on 4 times and was given a lie that package was redelivered it was for a totally separate person with a name that is no where close to my wifes name and they still have no record of its re delivery. This is by far the worst service and customer service experience i have ever had and they are complete and total idiots.
This post office is in a big nice building, right next to the World Trade Center. I had a smooth experience At the post office. It was not crowded, but I guess I was just lucky at that time. They have many service windows. Staff helped me with re-packaging, tapes etc.
This place is absolutely horrendous. I would rather pay double on UPS or FEDEX fees then EVER step foot inside this post office again. I live in Battery Park area and this is the post office closest to me. I waited in line on a saturday afternoon for over an hour. There were only TWO windows open, which is ridiculous. One of the windows was moving faster than the other and when i got to the second window i knew why. This woman was SLOW!!! If she moved any slower shed be moving backwards. I said i wanted to send my package the cheapest way possible then she measured the box 4 times bc she couldnt remeber the dimensions. Maybe if she turned down the R&B music it wouldve helped her focus better. Then when i said i wanted to purchase insurance she said i couldnt because i said i wanted it sent the cheapest way possible. I said no i could and that is one of the questions that you are supposed to ask me which i just saw appear on the payment screen. The shes like fine Ill void it. I said i send packages all the time and in order not to hear me she started singing the song out loud. WTF!!!! then she gives me the paper for the insurance and tells me to fill it out and wait back in the line!!! I said I am not waiting back in the line i have my husband and baby waiting and I said forget it i will just repeat the last transaction. She pushed my package back at me and it was a heavy box and was saying watch it dont hurt yourself. I told her i had never been treated so rudely and she told me to step to the next window and then slammed her window shut and began to scream. Unfortunately, she did not have a name tag on so i could not report her but how very sad for our country to employee such incompetent, crazy, filth.
Where to begin?Today, failed to deliver an Amazon package to my apartment WHEN I WAS HOME. No “missed delivery”slip so I can’t pick it up or request redlivery because I don’t have the numbers needed. Just emailed Jeff Bezos asking that they never use USPS to deliver to me.Previously, they left a “missed delivery” slip, telling me to go to Pike Street P.O., which was strange. Went there - it isn’t close - and no package. The woman there said “they probably ran out of slips and used ours.” Went to Church Street - and got the package. And then there was the memorable time they returned a package - to Laos - and were messing up a second delivery so badly that it, too, would have gone back to Laos. Why? Because they claimed “missed delivery” - when I was home. Just like today. They’re just awful.
This is the worst place ever. Horrible custom service. Don’t go there! To apply for passport, only one agent and there is always long line, extremely slow. It takes more than half hour for one case. The agent is joking and talking... don’t waste your time at this post office! I wish I could give this place a negative number.
It is so terrible! I own a small business and ship things daily but I hate that constantly I ship my products on time and it is shipped from this location 2 , 3 days later! If I pay for tracking, shouldnt it track my items state to state, office to office it lands in? Apparently not, Today I was told my a guy that works there that I pay for tracking but they dont have to scan it, its whether they want to or not, tracking is only there to tell me it is delivered . He gave me the biggest , BIGGEST attitude and was very rude with his responses. I couldnt ask him any other questions just because he seemed bother to help me. So tell me, tracking without tracking: Whats the point then?! 10 packages I sent out Monday morning was just updated by scanning tonight thursday at 9pm. Great job. So much for financial district. Terrible customer service, very slow lines, even if you buy them online, they will ship it out from the drop off section 2 days later.
One visit supplies compelling evidence for privatization of everything government. The speed in which they operate insures job security, i.e., no matter how quiet the place is there will always be a line.. If I didnt send certified mail I would suspect it my mail would be thrown in a dumpster.
You can only be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here if you want to ship. I guess if you had all the time in the world, this would be a great place to hang out and not get anything done. I asked a question and got rerouted 5 times = 20 minutes of waiting and didnt even get an answer. Can I give this place 0 stars?I took my services to ups and got out in 5 minutes. The prices are competitive, free tracking and they even pack for you. Its an amazing alternative from the hell that is this place.
I wouldnt even give a star for this lousy place. The customer service was ridiculously horrible and I was not even able to send my package. i had to deal with the two female employees who were useless and gave me attitude from the beginning. not even try to reach their arms to grab the package - what lazy employees they are. furthermore giving me the face and attitude think that they can control anything? its just so rude and I was furious with the experience I had with this place. They dont deserve to be employed. why are we paying my tax and pay for this useless lazy people for? this job should just be gone long time ago especially with that service.
Literally the worst experience at a post office in New York so far! They couldnt have been less helpful, often times employees contradicting each other. No one seemed to be able to use their system to find anything they (USPS) had lost to begin with.I would recommend shipping parcels with ABSOLUTELY ANYONE ELSE other than the USPS.
I paid for Prioity Mail to deliver an important package with valuable contents. Tracking showed it out for delivery on Wed. 1/15/14. The driver must have taken my package home, since it never made it to its intended destination. And, to think -- this branch office serves the worlds most important financial center. Today is Saturday, 1/18/14 and the branch is supposed to be open until at least 3:00 PM. No one ever answers the phone at the branch office. What kind of customer service is this? I am in another city, so I cannot go to the branch in person. FedEx will be getting my business next time.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Only one person is working the passport section and instead of trying to work quickly to get everyone taken care of, shes too busy making small talk. I wish I could avoid the post office, always a horrible experience with their 95% incompetent workers who doesnt care.
Their stuff DOESNT know how to read the pre-printed labels. They claimed that labels that I printed from ebay shipping center were wrong and that we are trying to cheat and dont pay enough for the shipping. In fact, I put more weight, and even overpaid for the shipping, it wasnt cheap at all. The label stated everything correctly, and it was confirmed by both Ebay and another USPS office. Ive always used ebay shipping and never had this problem before. All the information was correct, but I was basically told in a rude form that Im trying to cheat and that I have to carry my large packages back home, that they wont accept them. Lots of time wasted because of the incompetent workers.
We went here on 20140220 to renew our children’s passports. We arrived at 11am and were group No. 12 in line. It took four hours. We learned:•The postal clerk will ask your child questions that go to your relationship, e.g., “What is the name of your mommy?”•A birth certificate copy is required, even if you present a current U.S. passport for the child (contrary to Form DS-11, Instruction 1)•Fees may be paid with a debit card, but not with a credit card (contrary to Form DS-11, Instruction 4)•The 3pm closing time is just the last time that you can get in line. Then they bring everybody on the line into the room, lock the door, and stay until everybody is processed.•Just one clerk worked until about 1pm. Then a second clerk started working and the line moved twice as fast.
Back again and the service here continues to be amazing. Penny helped me this time with a complex issue and was so patient and helpful. Also watching the entire staff help with other customers was great. Also the floor manager dealt with customers with issues very well. Thank you guys! You all really are amazing!
For postal worker Braxton (teller window #7) who thought she was providing exemplary customer service. Try Again. Filed a complaint, that will be in your personal record. I have never been talked down by anyone in the manner she yelled at me. If you dont like your job, invest the time to build your career. If not, do your job and stop hiding behind counters.
This is the worst post office. They lost a package of mine and never gave me a refund or an explanation of what happened. Im currently waiting for a package that should have arrived already and im still waiting. If you call the location the phone just rings and rings. If a person even answers you they wont resolve your issue anyway.
Terrible service, often it is actually impossible for the staff to locate their own workers who are supposed to be on-shift. They told me to go to one line, then another, then back to the second line, then told me they couldnt help me with (what I had thought was) a simple problem. I will never have anything shipped here ever again even though I live a block away.
Im not sure what all the fuss is about but every time Ive been here I have received superior care. I find it hard to decide what packages and slips to use and even when I put it in a wrong package, they tell me what to use to save money and tell me to come back to them instead of back in line. Always so sweet and generous.
Rude workers, especially the woman working at the PO box window for Bowling Green at the 90 Church office. Rude treatment of customers, complete dismissal regarding questions about the whereabouts of packages, etc. Packages routinely get lost but tracking says delivered in mailbox.
Absolutely horrible customer service! I usually go to post office by Whitehall but decided to try this one since it is same distance at Whitehall. Have been here for close to 2 hours on long line to drop off package with only 2 service windows open. This office should be closed. Shameful. No wonder post office is in such dire financial straits.
Does anyone actually work there? They might try actually delivering your mail. Ive had at least 12 conversations in the last month in which Im told, yes, you sent it to the right address, but we never received it. People also send things to us that we never receive. They also never answer the phone. Again, IS THERE ANYONE OVER THERE?!?!!?
THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! I sent a package Priority Mail on Dec. 21, 2013 (NY) that didnt arrive to its destination until Jan. 18th (NC)!!! The tracking info stated the package was somewhere in Brooklyn Dec. 28 and no further informatiaon thereafter, until it arrived on Jan. 18.
The worst place everI was applying for the passport thereStying in a line for 2 hours.Very slowBut the worst thing there is staffMs.Carten is rudest, arrogant person I ever sawshe is not just super slow...she in pointed the fingers on the people in line, raised her voice, ingoring the questions, singing and the worst...was laughing and scoff on the women with 1 month old baby...horrible!!She obviosly hate her job and people around.
This is THE WORST POST OFFICE EVER !! Nobody ever knows anything, or the person you need to speak with is always on break. The employees there dont care about anything. Something needs to be done about this. Im honestly tired of the nonchalant customer service received at this post office.

2022-06-13A very unique post office! I enjoyed going in here! The building inside seemed historical and very beautiful. They gave kiosk so that you can make transactions quickly and independently! And they work well! This place is just very awesome all around! I highly recommend going here for your shipping and mailing needs!

2022-03-03I had a great experience here so felt compelled to leave a review. Latisha went above and beyond helping me ship my package out - I dont often go to the post office so I was not very efficient and it probably would have taken me 30 minutes if not for Latishas help. She not only helped me pack my box and then unpack it because I accidentally closed it with the pre-paid return label in, she was extremely kind, friendly and polite the entire time. The world needs more people like Latisha!

2021-09-23Definitely the best post office in Manhattan. There are rarely long lines, there are plenty of self service kiosks, and the workers are pleasant. I also love the building which is Art Deco and gorgeous. Love that it’s open later than most other post offices.

2022-06-13Dealt with Donna today. Rude and unprofessional. Donna made me wait at the window for 3 minutes while she prepared her iced coffee. Furthermore, although I marked the box as fragile on every side, top, and bottom, she still threw my package into the bin. I also didnt appreciate having orders barked at me.The postal officer was another story. I do not appreciate being stared at like a criminal, or hovering near me. Nobody else was getting this treatment. From the moment I walked in he was eying me. He even went as far to move from where he was standing to stand near me.

2022-05-23This is the only post office location that doesn’t stress me out. The employees seem to like being there and there’s hardly ever a line with tons of kiosks and windows. It can be tough to figure out which window is open but other than that, it’s efficient and has accessible hours for those working nearby.

2022-03-08I have always had a smooth and pleasant experience at this USPS, and that says a lot! Latisha especially is such a sweetheart. Thank you for the heart you put into your work - it is so appreciated.

2019-05-22Don’t even think about getting your passport here.We waited over 4.5 hours with an infant - the line started with approximately 10 people in front of us. There wasnt even 1 person staffing the counter the entire time.. periods of 15+ minutes would go by with us all in line with NOBODY there.Count the number of people in line and multiply by 30 minutes. (6 people is three hour wait) They don’t want to help you. They literally staff one person who clearly has no sense of urgency.Still waiting as I write this review (over 4.5 hours with baby because you must have child present.). Worst line experience and service in the last 10 years without question.Oh - and our part? Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING was done in advance.. perfectly. Even still - they made up things that were needed that are not required on ANY list by US or Post Office.. and used that excuse to make copies. Also overcharged us - but I couldnt bare to have those poor souls behind us wait a second longer for him to issue us a credit for his mistake. (He admitted it was a mistake). They rotated staff. No persons working had no sense of urgency or efficiency.Really - imagine your worst nightmare - its beyond that - its Unbelievable.0 stars given for their 0 f’s given.

2018-05-18I stoped by for my daughters passport renewal. People are helpful and fast but the process takes time and a lot of people forget a thing or two. It takes more time than usual because of that.
