United States Postal Service in other cities:
This is one of the friendliest post offices around. The line has moved quickly every time Ive gone in. There might not always be a smile on their face, or a laugh, but they get things done. I am always satisfied with the help I get when I go to this Post Office location. Its tucked out of the way and not too busy, even during the holidays. As long as I have the option, Ill be going to this location.
Definitely some of the rudest staff Ive ever encountered. They do their best to inconvenience you even if it means wasting both your time and theirs. All the female staff have major attitudes and dont give you correct information most of the time. Make sure you know exactly what service you want and how much it will cost because theyve misinformed me multiple times. I hate when I have to go here. Go to the Canal Street post office if you have the time, this location should be a last, last, last resort.
I have always reuse boxes whenever I post. Most times I reused amazon boxes. I learned that you can do that, as long as you cover up or cross out any barcodes. So last week I went there to send out 4 books, this black lady refused the box, saying (out loud) “we are USPS, we don’t do free advertisements for amazon, you must buy our USPS boxes if you want to send anything today”. She also laughed at me when she said that. So I said ok, I will wait for the Asian guy because he helped me before. Then this Asian guy said (out loud) “what do you mean? Don’t spread rumors that I approved this before. Also I can’t help you because your package is not sealed up” I told him I have to put in return stamps before I can seal it up. So anyway he sold me stamps, I sealed up the box. Two days later the package was returned to my address with no explanation at all.
The people who work here are actually d*ckheads. They are rude and talk down to people. I have never had a goo experience. The black lady that sits all the way by the windows and the asian male that work there are the worst. I hate this post office. Please fire these workers and get new ones. Terrible service
The Black lady sitting by herself on the left was probably the worse person I have ever seen in my life. She was extremely rude and there was people on the line also telling me about how rude this lady could be. She seems like the common dinominator of the place. Not only she was slow and helpless, but I just hope she will be replace by anyone. Thats how bad it was.
Worst customer service when at the actual location. Too lazy to actually deliver packages. You can be home all day only to recieve a slip that says no one was home. I have a post office 5 Minutes from me that delivers much better customer service I dont understand why we have to go through this horrible post office.

2022-04-01The people that work here are a joke of a help. I had a valuable item that I sold online that needed to be shipped out. I asked to double box my package and they told me that they would accept my package as is and box the item for me. I had later found out that they had shipped the item as is without double boxing the item. This lead to my item losing a substantial amount of value, consequently resulting in me losing money. I will no longer be coming back to this location nor trust USPS for any of my mailing needs moving forward.

2021-07-16Was greeted by a black lady who asked how I was doing. Seems very nice at first but when I politely asked a question about how much money order I can buy (because I’m buying it for a family member and we know nothing about the Money Order system) she quickly switched her attitude. She said you can get up to 10,000 by showing ID. Then I proceeded to ask if I need to fill out a form because I saw other people at the USPS filling out a form to buy the Money Order, and the black lady snapped and said “Miss, do you want to buy Money Order or not?” I was shocked at how the situation escalated so fast, but all I’ve been is polite and only asked two questions. I said of course, I’ll get $1000 and then she calmed down. After that, I received a call from my family asking how much I bought. They told me to get only $1000 in Money Order before I left the house, but gave me $3000 just in case they wanted me to buy more. They then called asking me if I’m able to buy another $1000 and so I went back on line. Now, there was another black lady, not the same black lady as before, who was helping me. The moment I said I need to buy $1000 in Money Order, the other black lady from before screamed at her colleague saying, “She had already bought. She cant buy no more.” In that moment, I was thinking didn’t you tell me I can get up to $10,000, how come I cant buy anymore? Then of course her colleague without asking me how much I bought earlier, told me “Oh, you cant buy anymore.” Of course I was upset and irritated at this point, I still kindly told her that I only bought $1000 before. She’s like, “Why didn’t you buy them all at once.” I said my family just called and asked me to buy another $1000. Thankfully, this employee processed the transaction but I had to present my ID.This whole experience was a very unpleasant one. As a USPS employee, if customers are asking about something that they actually don’t know, don’t you think you should inform them but with a kind attitude? And the fact that, even before you asked, you decide to scream across the counter to your colleague telling her to not let me buy another $1000? That’s ridiculous, especially if you’re the one who told me I could get up to $10,000 in Money Order.I’ll definitely try to report this incident to someone. This is very unacceptable behavior and I’m pretty sure this is how they treat everyone. Disgusting.

2021-07-26The ppl there are so rude. They did not even do their job and seem like the customers are forcing them doing things. When things came to them, they always put the issues on the customers! Not responsible at all! When I said about how good service I got in other USPS store, the black lady on the side even reply me why did I came here at first place! What a ridiculous reponse!😪

2020-09-08In general, Ive had very poor experiences with USPSs in NYC. Theyre usually way too busy with huge lines and disgruntled and unhelpful staff. On the contrary, this locations staff is very friendly and does their best to move the line along, which can be challenging given some language barriers. I was in and out of this branch within 5 minutes, and that was even after taking the time to pack my mail up and fill out a slip. The only downside is that because its heavily trafficked throughout the day, they often run out of supplies. While I was there, they had sold out of money orders, but were friendly and helpful enough to direct people to an alternate location to buy them.

2022-04-13This location does not open until 10 a.m during the week. The drop box outside is always full from the night before so if you get here before 10 a.m, youre Outta luck dropping your mail off. The lines can be long, there is no stamp machine in the post office to purchase stamps from.

2020-11-07The people working at the counters will either complain loudly about how their systems are broke or their job is taking so long. If you have a question, I have been stared at and then ignored by the person at the counter. This location has got to be the worst in terms of customer service and efficiency I have ever been to.

2019-08-27The staff is 5 stars, hands down the best and most efficient USPS I have ever been to. They are super helpful, kind, and patient with everyone who goes there.I also like the area, the street where this is on is always decorated and they have such great designs on the pavement. Also, so many good eats nearby in Chinatown. We come here often, and the only issue is their supplies are often low, and you have to ask for stuff, and because of so much foot traffic, it could be a bit tidier...yet in comparison to any other USPS, this is the one to go to...

2019-02-23My recommendation is to always be courteous and to the point when communicating to staff. The staff who service this particular branch have always been helpful and caring. Respect is so important when having a good experience--Most USPS offices in New York are a little rough around the edges, and the amount of traffic this post office receives is high. Just be smart and respectful.

2019-12-28I usually never send mail but need to this one time so I was lost when I could find any mail box in my neighborhood and decided to go to this postal office. There were no workers except for the ones at the front and so I waited in line. The lady I finally got was impatient from the start and didn’t even wait for my question and immediately shout “at the wall.” I try to ask my question and she just kept shouting “at the wall, go” Never going there again, USPS should train its workers better so people will be more willing to us them.

2021-07-26The two lady at counter number 3and4 are very rude. They are unhelpful at all, not doing their job. If you need help go to the one on East Broadway (better than this)!
