United States Postal Service in other cities:
Fav post office in the city, right by my campus so I usually go there to ship things out to customers. Staff is super helpful and always ready to assist. Very nice people. The lines are a bit annoying since they do take their time with ea h costumer. Botha. Good and bad thing depending if you are being served or waiting to be. It’s quiet nice and clean, also there is security which is also pretty cool. Of course there is one lady I don’t like very much who always has an attitude but last time I went there she wasn’t there so I’m hoping they did do something about her. She’s honestly a problem.
My experience: I went up to a counter in person to send a pre-paid package at 8.30am....there was literally no one else there and the package was valuable, so i thought i could get some help to confirm that its shipped for real. Instead, the person at the counter pointed me to an unattended bin, and now after dropping it off, my package is not in the tracking system at all. I dont know if its simply lost, stolen, or if someone forgot to scan it.
Love this post office . Nice and large . Plenty of room to address or finish packing stuff up should you need it . Efficiently ran with several windows of clerks. All have been pleasant in my experience . Escalators always working and a room downstairs if you want to just use a machine or drop off .
As i was putting boxes on the counter for shipping, the bald man with glasses who was taking care of my shipping practically threw the box at me saying i have put the box one by one. I was not aware of it and he didnt have to be so rude about it. There was no hello, bye or thank you. Very bad customer service. smh
This is absolutely the worst place and people to ask any question about mail service. Oh wait its a US Post Office. They are the lowest of the lowattitude attitude customer service they dont have it. They dont deserve 1 star. The PO Box window opens at 10am stayed on line for 1/2 hr no one showed up. THE WORST!!!!
There are occasionally nice employees here, but for the most part, I have found the staff to be unnecessarily rude. They lost one of my packages, so now I always get the shipping label scanned by someone as received. Ive been yelled at for not shipping the package the same day that label was printed, despite printing it late the night before after the post office was closed. Ive also been yelled at for trying to get a package scanned instead of dropping it off in the pre-paid bin (because I didnt want it to get lost again!).
Service is a hit or miss. They have some really attentive and friendly staff but also the really bad ones. I had a woman worker gossip next to her coworker and take her own sweet time helping me send my package. I always pride myself in being patient but she had me up the wall! I think it took 20-25 min to send one small package while she was already helping me, another 15 min for waiting in line.
I mailed a used mobile phone from this PO going to California. The box arrived at the destination but there was a note there which said “empty when received.” How could it have been empty when I put the phone inside and thereafter sealed the box? A woman at the post office volunteered to help me pack my box and I gladly accepted her help knowing that she worked there. I’m not accusing this woman - she was wearing a vest identifying her as someone who worked there - of complicity. But I could not help but ask why there was that note on the box.
Always understaffed, long wait in the line. They have approx 20 counters but always only 3-4 are open, at least for the times I visited. Also hard to find out where to wait for different services, no customer service counter. I tried sending 2 priority international mails, from staying in the line till transaction completed took an hour around 12.15pm. Be prepared.
This place is amazing!! i was shipping something to my sister from new orleans and the shop i used here (not a usps post office) messed up and typed in the wrong street number. so called this usps and asked if my sister could come and pick it up today before they closed but they just offered to fix the street name and re-deliver it tomorrow!! so kind the lady who helped me with this.
Very happy with this post office. There is usually a line, but it moves quite quickly and the postal workers are knowledgeable and patient.I happen to have over 150 certified mail items to send out and spent over 2 hours with the clerks. I saw so much of what they deal with and give them lots of credit for staying pleasant.
This has been my local post office for over 10 years. Like most other reviews, the service cannot be worse and I try to avoid going in. You do get the occasional pleasant person but that is a rarity. I have no idea why you would ever sign up to deal with the public if you hate interacting with people. In the era where USPS is doing terribly due to multiple issues, you would think USPS would work on the customer service aspect to be competitive. I just had one of the worst experiences with an older woman with a chip on her shoulder whereby she basically told me to go print my own international postage from a machine (she apparently isnt concerned a machine can do her job!) because she said I was DEMANDING her to print me a stamp. Lets imagine exactly how that can happen?!? Less than one minute into our interaction she told me she was going to send me to a supervisor. The truth is if it would help, I am happy to talk to the Postmaster General!
The staff dealing with stamps and posting mail is generally very slow and arrogant. Sometimes blatantly rude and could not be bothered to check the price difference for me between sending a package internationally in the cheapest manner or with tracking. The staff dealing with picking up packages has always been helpful and I have not had a problem with them ever.
Im unaware how management at this location does not read the reviews here. The majority of the female staff, not all, but a hefty chunk of them that work behind the register are rude. Plain and simple. Ive been coming to this location for the past 3 years now and almost every time I needed to go to the register, the women who work here are so rude. I typically come here to mail certain things. Mostly certified mailings. I complete the form, the small thin green and white certified form and i have my envelope already sealed and stamped. I just need them to send it certified. Almost every single time I get a rude demand, you need to attach that to the letter. now its hard to understand that in text form. I cant properly describe the look on their faces, or the rude tone they use. But, I dont have time to attach it all wrong and have to redo it. So I always hand over my completed forms so that they can attach it. So far, only one male employee has been real nice to me and always takes my forms and attaches them properly to my letter. The others cant seem to be bothered to do their part in helping me. I mean, its not like their getting paid...oh wait, they are.
I was here twice before this past week for passport and never see an associate by the passport counter. This is my 3rd time here and I was told to wait by counter 14. Waited 30 mins here with no line and no one was here to service for passport application. Asked the associate from another counter if someone is working today and she didn’t even care to look at me. She told me the guy is on break and don’t know when is he coming back. A complete waste of my time.
The laziness and attitude in this station is pervasive. Useless and unhelpful staff treat customers with disdain. Socializing amongst themselves while clients wait on line. I was directed to 4 different people before finally someone took the time to tell me if i had filled out my certified mail paperwork correctly. Not rocket science, I know, but it had been years since I had done one, and wanted to make sure it was correct since it was an important document.Absolutely useless excuses for humans in a customer service field. They should be ashamed
Everytime I go there I get out mad. The staff is so rude. They treat you like you are nothing or stupid. They dont help you to complete form (Im European so im not used to of this).Even once there was this lady who had an argument with the cashier. When she left this one opened the ladys package and the lady came back saying she is not allowed to open the package. She cashier was given her such an attitude and laughed with her co-worker.I like the fact the put the things to improve the customer service but why do they put it in the front of the employees ??
I usually have the WORST time at the post office. Similar to the experiences most of the reviewers on here had. But let me tell you, i just had a fast, Swift and pleasant interaction with one of the workers there. He was so polite and PATIENT. You don’t usually get that at USPS. He walked me through the entire process of the self service machine, while helping others too and not once did he fluster. He had people coming from every which way asking for/needing help and he handled it with such poise. I’m so sad i didn’t get his name but he looks like that guy that sings “classic man”. He’s signed to Janelle Monae. Thanks for a great experience!!
Extremely rude employees. The line was endless, very slow in their performance. I missed one form and besides setting my “all the way to the left to complete” they sent me back in the front of the line to notice the person behind me is already upset. Had the luck to run into another rude obe that showed me an envelope of how it ha to be done and again .... all the way to the left. Finally I figured it out, I am not used to send certified letters, I get it. Wouldn’t had been nicer if the first clerk would nicely instruct me in a nice manner the right way, with a nice attitude. I am a paying customer and I deserve service, courtesy and respect. I am sticking to ups and fedex from now on. And they dare to have a survey stand in the middle of the room to press.... guess what I pressed?
I came in to mail a small package and was standing in line. While waiting I heard a post officer Ms. Bellamy raising her voice at one of the young ladies trying to take a photo of the prining board for the shipping costs informing her she can not take pictures inside a post office. I was taken back by the rudness but patiently waited in line for my turn. While the line was moving slow I secured my spot in front of a young lady and took a moment to see if the automated self-service machine would print me a mailing stamp. The machine, hovewer, didnt recognize the address and I returned back to the line at my spot. At that moment Ms.Bellamy called next customer and the young lady who was in line behind me went to the window. I patiently stood in line and was informed by Ms. Bellamy I would not be served as the line was closed. I was absolutely Ok with the fact that the line was closed as I can always come back another day. It is Ms.Bellamys nasty attitude and carelessness towards the customers that seemed alarming. As I silently approached to take a look at her name tag, the angrily added Oh, you want my name. Nothing will happen. Not a thing. I find it is absolutdly disguisting, especially around the time of the holidays. This is an example of a customer service employee who lost touch with the purpose of serving customers and having right attitude towards them. I strongly suggest a customer service training to re-engage the disgruntled employee with the core purpose of her day to day activities or suggest a dismissal.
There is one woman who works at this post office that has a very poor attitude towards customers. I have had the misfortune to deal with her on two occasions and she is brusque, unfriendly and clearly needs training in providing proper customer service. She seems to get satisfaction out of berating customers unnecessarily.**Edit: I have adjusted my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because when I went back to this post office, I was served by a very nice helpful agent. This other lady was the complete opposite to the previous one I described.
This post office is the worst! Every single time I have a package that ends up at this location I never get my package on the date it’s supposed to be delivered. Without fail the tracking message on my delivery date is ALWAYS “ Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location “ this is BS there is always access. Not note left on my door of course because they never really attempted the delivery. I’ve taken days off of work waiting for important packages and this is what this post office does. This does not happen when my packages come from my local post office or any other post office. It’s inconvenient and a waste of people time and money when they take off of work to wait for packages that will not come because this post office is full of BS. Oh and don’t bother going into this location to track down the package no one knows nothing the driver has the package and it’s a wasted trip.
Valerie , USPS Package tracking manager in zip code 10022, is exactly who you need in customer service / package tracking . She was creative and jumped though hoops to determine what needed to be corrected and how to correct it.My package was delivered today. My customer was excited that it arrived. I appreciate all Vals extras efforts !
Do NOT use this post office for any sort of bulk mailing. I brought my wedding invitations here and #1. was told the incorrect stamp amount so had to re-stamp all the invitations.#2 Many of the invitations were damaged in their facility, some lost altogether. Several of my guests received letters in the mail from the post service apologizing for how damaged the invitations became. I was also told that they dont hand cancel the envelopes and that no post office service in the area offers that option anymore - but after visiting the USPS on 48th and 5th was able to get a bunch of extra hand cancelled. This location is a complete disaster and I wouldnt mail so much as a post card there ever again.
Wow. Just came from here. I had two packages, with postage. I just wanted to ask if the person at the kiosk was able to tell if the postage was sufficient or if I needed to wait in line to find out. I didnt see a scale on her desk, but because she wasnt overwhelmed with people (there was one other person behind me), and the line for the windows was very, very long, I thought it wouldnt hurt to ask, on the off-chance she did have a scale or some way of checking.Man, was I wrong. It did hurt to ask. She cut me off mid-sentence, waved her hand in front of my face, rolling her eyes. Not really using any words, so I still had to ask, further aggravating her, so I should wait in line? The answer: I dont have no scale here.Ok, thats all I was asking. Ive worked in customer service before, so when I deal with someone else who is, I try to keep my questions simple, so all the answer has to be is yes or no.All she had to do was say yes, I can help or no, you have to wait in line.If there was an abundance of people around her, I mightve understood, but there wasnt. The abundance of people was in the line for the windows. She was the least crowded worker there. There was literally no reason for this.So happy holidays to her and to this awful place, too.
The staff here are curt and they provide no assistance. Twice Ive come to them concerning missing packages, and each time they give me phone numbers to call. This most recent time I had already spent a half hour on the phone with the 1-800 number, and the representative ASSURED me that I would be able to bring my tracking number to the FDR station to pick up my package. Each problem occurred because my package was Undeliverable as Addressed; however, Ive ordered numerous packages through Amazon Prime & USPS to be sent to my work address with no problems. Each time I select the same pre-written address, so I dont see how my packages can be undeliverable when its worked over a dozen times in the past. This post office doesnt care and you will find no one willing to actually make you satisfied here. They need to be retrained and to have their system overhauled to actually be helpful.
This post office is poorly ran. The employees talk badly and openly about the supervisor of the branch in front of other customers. I witnessed this as I was waiting in the branch for 30 minutes to speak to the supervisor. I purchased a money order in September (9/30/17)that somehow my landlord was unable to deposit. It’s is April and the issue with my $1,000 money order has yet to be resolved! As I’m typing this review I’m currently also calling the branch to speak to the supervisor, who was supposed to be calling me on Monday 4/9/17 by 11am. It’s nowThursday 4/12/17 1:10pm. Still no call from Jessie the supervisor and I can’t get in touch with him as no one answers the phone. Not to mention one of the employees told a customer that no one answers the phone around there when she stated she was calling and no one answers the phone. This is terrible! I’m a manager at my job and if it took me almost 7months to resolve a customer’s issue I would be fired. This type of service or lack there of is unacceptable. I never write reviews but I was compelled to write this one because for almost 7 months this has not been resolved and I’m not getting the type of service necessary to get this matter resolved.
Came here for the first time this morning because I needed to ship a small box and was received AWFUL service. Woman at the desk was on her phone for a minute before I said something. Gave me multiple directions in a horrible manner but I didn’t understand. I told her “I’m sorry, I’m not from here.” She responded with me with “This is how it is in EVERY state!” I told her “I’m not from this country.” Shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes as she told me “ Well this is elementary!”I asked to borrow some sissors.... “I can’t give you scissors. Get some tape from around the corner.”Why do you guys hire people who cannot attend customers correctly? This woman clearly needs some help. I feel very sorry for her. 😬
No customer service, driver attempted to deliver package to a business during business hours and claimed we were closed. when you try calling usps they told me I would have to go in person or call the facility to ensure delivery. I tried calling.... NO ANSWER. read a few reviews, they also attempted to call but no answer. so I have a driver attempting to deliver and a company who ignores their clients. AWESOME!
Reinhart( microbladed eyebrows ) worst Employee I ever dealt with in USPS, she did not want to accept my prepaid package because the label read July 23,2019 instead of July 25,2019, and mind you I was working back to back and could not leave my package. The audacity to say come back tomorrow morning they wouldn’t care to mail it. I always stick to the post office in 31st street !
The customer service here is reminiscent of what one would have expected from Soviet postal facilities in the 1980s. All of the phone numbers online, from the USPS HQ, and from persons within the FDR facility, do not work. The lines are horrible. The processes are inefficient. The rules about business and personal packages make no sense. Once your package crosses the event horizon of this post office -- like a black hole -- the normal laws of logic, common sense, and even physics just seem to break down. I wish you better luck than Ive had.
I went there for a first time passport on a Saturday and my experience was agonizing, annoying, and exhausting. The line was very long and moved extremely slow, people were cutting I was there 2 hrs, it was awful. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the lady that works at the passport window was very kind and helpful.
This post office do not honor express next day deliveryMy package was send on November 18, next day express priority flat rate. Today is the 20thnand I have not receive my package yet. When you want something in a rush do not use the us postal serviceThis is true experience. I am still waiting for my next day mail now 2 days
Passport application was a bad experience. The clerk was very impatient to the customers (because she said nobody came help her and that she needs to get out to have lunch). And she gave unclear instructions to delay several of our processes and deliberately ignored our questions.
Beatrice was really rude and unnecessarily hostile. I am disabled, I am hearing impaired and when I went to her window with a question I politely asked her to speak up please I couldnt hear her and explained that and she hit her credit card machine and told me to get out of there fast. I was quite unraveled that someone in that job would act that way. Ill avoid her and that location because it gave me a lot of anxiety. After reading the other reviews I see its common that people are treated poorly here.
Negative rating for this place. I had a package picked up from my office building and it has yet to be scanned in with tracking after almost a full week. Ill give it a few more days but given the track record ive seen with USPS I wont hold my breathe. will be filing a claim for sure. absolutely furious.
I had the most fantastic experience with Beatrice while replacing my passport. She was so sweet and courteous that she actually worked with me through her lunch to expedite my passport. Definitely deserves a raise!!!!! I was in and out in 30 minutes. Definitely make sure you have a passport appointment online and fill out the DS 11 and 64 form.
Is there a requirement that they only hire the pissiest, rudest old women available? They sent me to multiple windows because no one working there seemed to know what the correct one was, interrupted me when I said I was told to go to that window. Rhinehart was the one that finally processed me and acted extremely rudely the entire time, rather than trying to help actually help me. How hard is it to find decent customer service?
One of the WORST post offices I have EVER come in contact with. They NEVER answer the phones and my packages have ended up missing TWICE! I wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy! Customer service sucks and they completely dont care how their customers feel. Ive written TWO complaints and NOTHING. THE WORST PLACE EVER! DO NOT EVEN DEAL WITH THEM. UNLESS YOU LIKE USELESS SERVICE.
Went there to inquire about my important mails which I did not receive. The staff are so rude and have so much of attitude. How could they even possibly treat people with such attitude, very bad customer service. Thankfully the supervisor was there and she gave me the information about the number to call for further details.
Im all the way in Jamaica. I made an order but used the wrong zip code to ship the package to the house in Brooklyn. I called in at this post office like a million times last saturday, nobody answered then monday i tried again and an angel finally answered. I explained everything to her, she was awesome. She promised shell do what she can for me and today the package arrived in brooklyn :) Thank you so much who so ever you are. You deserve a raise !
We love our mailman at 10 East End Avenue! His mail bags, unfortunately are a pitiful mess. Ripped and tattered in many places. Some of the holes are large enough to actually allow pieces of mail to drop through.PLEASE get the guy some new carrying bags! He ( and we) deserve them! Thanks!
The staff here have little to no idea about their own products and services. Even when I showed them their own website, they wouldnt accept my mail. Excepting one staff member who went out of her way to help me (and become the reason for the two stars instead of 0) nobody really seemed to care for the customer.
This is my favorite post office! The hours are perfect. ..they’re open on Saturday! Of corse there will be a couple of...ok a few who were/are to put it nicely...surly & ruder than rude. But most of the employees there were/are helpful & patient. This is my favorite post office!!
Machines in lobby often dispense fewer stamps than purchased, or none at all.To get a refund, you must wait in line upstairs, typically at least 15 minutes. All of the pens attached by string to the tables have been stolen. The employees are not helpful, and often outright dismissive.Worst P.O. Ive visited in any country.
Just tried to buy stamps at the kiosks on 3rd ave. . Only one of 1 0f 3 machines working the other 2 had hand written out of order signs. Waited 10 mins on line for the one machine - then machine said it could not print stamps at this time. Take the machines out and stop wasting peoples time!
If I could give it -10 stars I would. Dont ever lose a package because these people are no help. No one answers the phone. When you try and talk to a person they tell you to call the phone number that no one ever answers. My package has been lost for a month and there is nothing I can do about it. They just say make a claim report online and thats it. I pray if you are reading this review its not for the same issue because you are basically out of luck.
The staff has the worst customer service. They do not care nor want to help. Brown is the most careless individual who is both rude and aggressive when you ask for help. She closes 10 minutes prior to actual time and then gets aggressive when you ask for help. USPS must take action because it is not acceptable that customers are treated the way we are at this location it is just unfair. I tried speaking with managers at this location and not is done about the poor customer service. Be prepared to be insulted and humiliated at this location
The people who work at this location are rude, unpleasant, have no manners, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, and should find jobs elsewhere that doesnt put them in contact with other people EVER!!! They make you stand there and wait until they finish gossiping before barely doing their jobs. Horrible place 😝😝😝
If I can give negative star, I would. The post office suppose to close at 8 pm, 6:30pm only 2 windows open, takes forever, and they just let unprepared customers to finish by the window without helping other customers waiting on line, when asked who is in charge or where is the supervisor, the answer is nobody!
The worst customer service ! What ever you do, do not get your packages sent to this place ! No help I had to call about 30 times because they kept hanging up ! Very rude service !! For them to tell me that my package is no longer with them ! And also said that I would receive my package on Friday and it never cameI’d thought maybe by today I’d have it still nothing for them to tell me they shipped it back to the sender ! The worst postal office , If you don’t like your job leave it ! Ya deserve0000 stars . I’m very disappointed
These people stole my package ! United States Postal Service has all these bad reviews in a main station in New York City and no one is investigating these claims !!!They are selling peoples mail on eBay probably. This my first experience loosing over 1000 dollars worth package. I have never had any smilliar experience. You have lost me as customer forever and I urge others dont waist their time and money. USPS should stop waiting money on TV commercials and focus on fixing such major issues.Update: they finally found my box of 37lbs, and I had to go pick it up myself to make sure they dont loose it during a reattempt.

2022-05-31I have come here twice to renew my childs passport. I dont live in Manhattan but I come here because I have had great experience and customer service from very helpful workers. Thank you David and Abdullah for making this process go very smoothly. I have gone to the post office at Woodside and Jackson Heights and have had a terrible experience at both of them.

2022-04-04This post office delivered my expensive pre-owned boots to the wrong address. i opened a case and someone contacted me to call the post office on three different numbers. i called several days in a row on all of those numbers and nobody picked up. they’re completely unhelpful and now i can’t even replace the package.its now been 1 week since i went in person to the post office and wrote down my name, address, phone number, and summary of my situation to be given to the delivery supervisor since i cant CALL and reach anyone. i still have not been contacted regarding my misdelivered package.

2022-07-17Some of the employees think they own the place. They do not do their job, even though Its their responsibility. They are unprofessional, rude, and totally ignorant. They are not worth your time, just go elsewhere.

2022-02-02The disorganization of this place is embarrassing. From the inquire parcel box pick up, they sent me to window 5 to speack.with a supervisor and no body was there, waited 15 minutes for nothing. I came back 2 weeks later, the same happened.

2021-12-02This is a horrible post office. The supervisors are incredibly nasty and enjoy shouting at customers. The clerks are unhelpful. It’s a shame because it’s a big building but honestly recommend you walk a couple blocks and go to a different post office if you can.

2021-11-02Yesterday I received the worst treatment of my life here in the United States I never thought that a woman who is to provide a service can treat a human being as if he were garbage. the people who are in front helping with the machines are more repetitive but that woman in the passport window must be a heartless one. I left my work with an hours leave and at that time that woman made my day black. She did not allow me to explain something to her and she got up from her seat to scream like crazy and I just kept quiet about my commitments but I hope there will be a change and treat people with respect if she is also giving it and even that we have to try give it a good deal. for people like that is that our world is getting worst. I did not want to make this type of comment and leave everything to God but if it is not spoken there can be no changes. Thank you and I hope whoever reads this message understands me.

2021-09-08This place has to train their clerks how to give good customer service, I just get out from there I’ve been having my POBOX for over 15 years in this location and it’s notorious the poor customer skills of the clerks, the African American young lady and the Asian lady who were there this morning didn’t even answered my question, instead they ignored me and that’s really disrespectful, isn’t the first time, with the same people . It’s time to review your people skills and if they’re not qualified put people who really enjoy customer service…. We’re the reason why the business keep running and we both need each other, they need their job but I need good treatment as a customer.

2021-05-27Thanks to the supervisor I was able to do my daughters passport without appointment, there is some staff member there that are very very rude like the Rihehart and the Asian girl next to Rihehart, but the African American girls were all very polite especially the supervisor and the lady the did my paper work. I been using this post office for years to apply for passports for e and my family members, very nice and clean places. If you ever had any issues just speak to the supervisor dont waste your time with those employers they hate theres job.
