United States Postal Service in other cities:
The employees at this post office are overwhelmed by the amount of work they are expected to do in one shift. Yes--they are usually under-staffed. Its generally not a tipping job which shows appreciation for their services: they may work with added vigor, with a token of appreciation from us as customers! Postal work requires the employees to be alert at all times-that in itself is a responsibility for them handling US mail. It is NOT an easy job. Lets all SUPPORT them give more respect and understanding for the position they are in...and yes--why not-tip them for handling your packages! Especially during the holidays!.
Horrendous service. I have lived in this neighborhood my entire life and the postal service has had a severe decline in recent years. My tracking information stated that they could not deliver due to no secure location (the location is secure, all of my packages arrive just fine) and that they left a notice. No notice was left and when I went to the post office to attempt to retrieve my package, I was told that it wasn’t there and to come back tomorrow to confront the carrier. What kind of service is this? They are putting both myself and their workers in harms way with this kind of advice. I still have no idea where my package is and it contained my college textbook. This place should’ve closed down years ago.
I wish I could give this hell hole zero stars. They do not come to deliver to your home as they should. And then they lie and state that they attempted to do so. Which you know is a lie because you were home all day. To make matters worse, they dont even leave a notice at your door because as you know THEY NEVER ATTEMPTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Now you have to go to the post office which always opens late which is inconvenient for people that have to go to work afterwards. Youre soon stuck waiting on line minimally for 20 minutes while the clerks dont have a care in the world. Honestly, they should just close this place down and build something beneficial to the community (ex. daycare, affordable housing). The workers are incompetent and lazy.
Horrible customer service. The worker pretty much bully clients. If you missed a delivery to pick your package is a nightmare to get it. You get the run around. 1 because it’s short of staffs and 2 because they seem lazy to look for it. They will tell you come later or the next day. One of my irritations is when they say the package is here but isn’t ready. These people loves talking down on people.
I read the reviews before going to the post office this morning to send a package, and based on what I read I prepared myself for bad service. I was pleasantly surprised! The lady that took care of things for me was so professional and helpful that I had to ask her for her name to write this review.Chanique thank you sooo much for being welcoming and patient! This location gets 5 stars from me based on my experience, thanks to you!
If I could leave a zero star review, I would. This particular branch is just awful. Last time I went it took over an hour to pick up a package when there were maybe 5-6 people in line in front of us when we got there. Only one lady was working and she moved more slowly than the sloth in Zootopia. Nothing was stocked so people had to wait in line just to get an envelope and then come back to the line... and it would take her a full 5 minutes just to go get one envelope from the back and come back to the window. After waiting for over an hour we finally were next and walked up and she goes, “ma’am, ma’am one minute please.” And makes us get back in line then just leaves the window and goes to the back for roughly 8 minutes for no reason before coming back to get our slip and then go get the package which took another eternity. Meanwhile there’s now a line out the door and we can see at least one worker on the other side of the two way mirror who is just sitting there on her phone. I could maybe understand if it was someone’s lunch and they were just understaffed... etc... but we were there for over and hour so someone should have come back from lunch by then. People in line started trying to call the branch to see if a manager was there so they could be served... it was truly mind blowing. This lady seemed to be intentionally moving as slowly as possible. I truly can’t think of another explanation for how slowly she was moving. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had. This branch should be ashamed of the level of service they are providing. It’s just straight up lazy and disrespectful to all the people who need to use this branch.Ive been back several times and every time theres trash everywhere. The signs are falling down, and you HAVE to go through the line to the window because nothing is stocked and even the self serve package drop slot is literally taped shut.Last time I went to pick up a package and had the slip... they didnt have it and told me it had been marked as delivered. This has happened to my roommate at least twice as well in the past two months. I truly, 100% believe their staff is either stealing or just like... tossing packages wherever and marking them as delivered.Do everyone a favor and please fire everyone who works at this branch and hire new leadership and a new crew. Other branches in the area are not this bad and theres got to be other people out there who need and WANT a good job. Its truly embarrassing.
Ive lived in the neighborhood for a year now and the incompetency at this Post Office is astounding. Mail that should take 2-3 days can take UP TO 2 WEEKS to be delivered. At the PO itself there is always a long line. The employees are unpleasant to deal with. When I have an important item to mail out now, I take the subway to the PO at Columbus & 95th. Its worth the $5.50 and hour of my time.
Its totally fine. Both times Ive gone its been pretty busy. Definitely understaffed but thats not their fault. They have a self service station that helps if youre paying by card. The trouble is just that it takes so long to move through the line. The first time I went the wait was an hour, the second time, 20min. Its reliable. Just not quick
The worst POST OFFICE in the entire world!!!1st on numerous occasions the carriers say they have made attempts to deliver packages will is falsified bcuz I wait faithfully for my packages and they never leave notes or evidence that they made the attempts. The post office NEVER returns your call on a compliant, they have misplaced my packages, the workers inside the post office have bad attitudes, uninterested, and unprofessional most of the time. THE WORST IN THE NATION! I hate to give reviews like this but this station needs a professional upgrade. Taking my complaints to the District office soon.
This place is HORRIBLE . Theres literally only 1 person working and 2 people on a good day . They ALWAYS have an attitude. When I order something that has to go through this post office I know for certain Im going to have to go pick it up myself . These are the LAZIEST workers Ive ever encountered . Youll be in line for at least 20 minutes when you come here even if there are only 3 people ahead of you . The phone number doesnt work and when you come in with questions no one ever has answers. I wish I could give a quarter of a star but to be honest this place doesnt even deserve that.
This post office is a shame. There’s over 30 people in the line and one person working. She’s moving at the glacial pace and is extremely rude. Is this called customer service? Mind blowing. And let me not even start on the postmen who don’t even ring the bell cause they don’t want to climb the stairs and deliver the package, just leave the note on the door.
Terrible experience and it’s never a dull moment at this site. The workers always have an attitude and nasty to their customers. Your packages can never be found. The lines here are ridiculously long and with only one worker behind the window. I’ve had to stand on lines at this office for over 30 minutes almost an hour to pick up a package. I don’t understand why theirs never more workers here.
Absolutely horrendous service. Multiple times they have claimed to have delivered a package but they have never even attempted a delivery. Blatant lies. Rude customer service at the counter. A simple inquiry about my package and they could not even be bothered to look up my tracking number. I had to return several times and still have no inkling about the whereabouts of my package. Try to avoid this location at all costs.
Only ever one rude staff member and lines 30 minutes plus always. Today was a prime example of how they just don’t think about their customers: waited in line all that time, only to be told at the window “no debit or credit”. Is it that hard to put up a note? I also don’t know what kind of mess their package organization is in but it takes them 10 minutes minimum to retrieve packages if they can find them at all. They have no envelopes or anything out to you have to line up for ages to get packing materials then line up again to mail it off. I wish I didn’t have to go here.
This place is getting extremely worse by the day, time and week. The people who are hired to deliver packages are way behind schedule. Constant delays and delivery attempted notices gives me the impression that the employees only took this job to prevent themselves from being homeless in the streets begging for money and food. Other reasons are they just want to sit on their butts and let time pass them by, run to nearest bank or check cashing place to get their unearned paychecks and then run to the liquor store and then by cases of cigarettes. Not living healthy affects your jobs and people around you.
I guarantee you - the only reason this post office is continued to allowed to operate like this is because it serves a majority minority neighborhood.Any other post office in New York City is not like this, with the exception of a privately run branch in Brooklyn which is also *surprise* in a majority minority neighborhood. It sickens me to see my own people providing such terrible service and attitude to their community.
They are only great at wasting peoples time. The mail people are too lazy to bring your packages up stairs and if it doesnt fit in your mailbox you will have to spend an hour on line to pick up your packages the next day.The workers always have an attitude and work slow and theres never a manager on site which prompts them to do what ever they want.
The worst post office I’ve ever had to deal with. The Employees are rude and non helpful. One Employee that’s always there, sit and ate food while a customer was at her window waiting on her. Also they always claim they don’t have your packages or no know where they’re, half the time your package be there the whole time they just not looking.
This is the worst post office ever. I am 31 and since i was 7 they have been inefficient and RUDE.I am now a small business owner and own a PO Box the lobby is supposed to be open at 7am for people to be able to check their mail boxes. They are never open at that time. Retail hours begin at 9 and sometimes theres a huge line outside still waiting at 9:30 for the post office to open up. Not to mention they are very unprofessional and rude. Zero stars if i could.
The mismanagement of packages, attitude of the staff, and general disregard for customers is especially unique at this location. Whats funny is Im often defensive when going into other USPS locations in the city expecting the same treatment, only to find myself apologetic in that the particular level of mistreatment is especially unique to this location.
Ive NEVER seen a post office so slow, filled with people who seemingly DO NOT want to be there.. When it comes to deliveries; the Mail person NEVER delivers my packages to the apts or even to the stand alone parcel station we have in our lobby, and its got to the point that they dont even leave slips in the mailbox to pick up at the station anymore. I have to go online myself to track it just to see that it was attempted when Im sure they never left their mail truck to enter the building... Damn SHAME... IDK what can be done, but this is INSANE! I bet they wouldnt do us like this if this was 86th st or further downtime where the population is different.
The worst post office ever. “Don’t even bother going online to ask for packages to be redelivered.” That is a quote that came directly out of my mail carrier’s mouth as I was inquiring about my lost package. I have have stood in line at the post office several times, and I’ve had to give up because it’s taken so long to even get an employee to show up behind the counter.
Since I moved in across the street, I have never received a package on time. More often than that, I don’t receive packages at all. This is probably the worst post office I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve lived a lot of places. If you’re moving into the neighborhood I recommend getting a P.O. box elsewhere because this place will probably lose all of your packages.
I wish I could give less then one, they lost my package while waiting online you prepare yourself to deal with the workers because you hear them belittling and just being out rude to customers!!!!! They must not get paid to be there, you cant be that angry and getting paid. I really really hate this place and not because of the long lines, but because of the were treated!!!!
This post office is horrible. They do not even TRY to deliever packages. I have not even recieved any slips claiming that theyve tried. Higher ups of the USPS need to step in and FIX this HUGE issue. Important things come to me in the mail and I cannot receive them in a timely manner because of this post office. I work 4 jobs. Things NEED to be delieverd to my apartment. It is RIDICULOUS. I would like to be refunded for packages that were sent express but even CALLING the USPS and getting a response within an hour is impossible. This post office, needs a REVAMP AND NOW!!!!!!!
The absolute worst PO that Ive ever been to. There doesnt seem to be any supervision whatsoever. Mostly one window open with customers lined up outside & down the block waiting for a clerk. The clerks are unmotivated with negative/toxic attitudes towards customers. I HATE GOING THERE!!
Employees are lazy you can be home all day yet they would say “attempted delivery” they just be in the car hanging out and dont want to deliver. This is the worse area and btw i was waiting for 2 hours before class for them to tell me the package that was supposed to be delivered Friday it wasn’t it the office so where is my package?? Accident or??? Nobody has time to be wasting here
Due to the negligence , incompetence and criminal activity at this post office my IRS return was STOLEN AND CASHED.For years mail has been misplaced in other peoples mailboxes, sometimes in other bldgs despite correct labeling, mail delivered for people who no longer reside there and left forwarding addresses. Mail returned over and over again despite notes that the person is no longer a resident there.Iam having this post office investigated.I tried to consider the seniors who need a post office close by , however this post office is useless. The powers that be need to close down this post office and build housing in its place for people who need a place to live.
Truly the worst service I’ve ever encountered. Rude, purposefully slow, zero respect for their job or customers. I never write reviews. Especially negative. But I’ve also never waited AN HOUR in an empty post office (no other customers) to pick up a package. I can understand if I came during rush hour, or if a lot of people were waiting for packages. But it was just me. I asked the window clerk 3 TIMES if there was something she could do. She kept repeating “he’ll just call you.” With attitude. Lo and behold, someone from the back notices me and asks me what’s up. I tell her I’ve been waiting for an hour. She tells me the man who is supposed to look for my package went on lunch. She takes 30 seconds, finds my package. Hands it to me with no apology, nothing. A simple call to the back could have saved me an hour, and they offered no apology. Wasn’t a busy day. Wasn’t bustling. Only customer. Atrocious. If you don’t like your job, that’s not the customer’s problem.
This is the worst post office in the Unites States of America for over 30 years. I can’t believe these workers still have jobs. Incredibly slow, rude, absent and no customer service skills. They show up to work like they are doing the community a favor. This is one station that’s needs to be shut down. I hate ever having to go there. I do everything in my power to stay away this place. OMG!
THEY NEED MORE EMPLOYEES HERE! THESE WORKING CONDITIONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE AND UNFAIR TO THE CURRENT EMPLOYEESWith possibly two, maybe three employees running the place:- lines are ALWAYS long- if a package wont fit in your mailbox, you automatically receive a final notice slip to pick it up (it was never in the cart to be delivered in the first place)- a mail person can often be seen delivering mail with a cart after 9 PM- employees often appear exhausted and lose their pleasant dispositionTHEY NEED MORE EMPLOYEES HERE! THESE WORKING CONDITIONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE AND UNFAIR TO THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES!
Dont waste your time here. The staff dont care that you have packages or things to send. They do what they want behind the glass and laugh at you while you stand there in line for 25 minutes without being helped or acknowledged. Go to literally any other post office than this one.
I had the absolute opposite service at this post office. It is my favourite in Harlem and possibly Manhattan. They are friendly, helpful and do not escalate the situation when they have frustrated customers. They are closer post offices to my residence, but I will continue to make the trek to this one
Bad bad bad costumer service. The waiting area is way too long, only two people working but one taking there lunch for more than 1 hour and they give you attitudes they are soooo rude. I dont know how they get jobs like this is they dont love there job or have people skills why work in that area. They should hire more people and that have patience and are nice too.
Today the post office opened at 12 for some reason. I get there at 1140 to wait in line and a hour later they tell us there is no cashier way past 12. Why would you tell your customers that you open at 12 when you have nobody to serve them. No wonder this place has such bad reviews.
I’m a block away from this place Nd I know two lady’s work there the first time I went she was very nice so I was very confused about all the badd reviews until I went the second time Nd I gott this darker lady she is so rude Nd disrespectful it disgust me and tbh she’s lucky that glass is protecting her, she literally yelled at an old lady idk what is wrong with her I’ll be sure to gett her name Nd edit it here so everyone can know who she is Nd all the badd reviews is about her nott the other one. The last review before mines from another person I was there so I can vouch for that review it’s sickening
Worst post office in New York, this is a waste of use of building waste of use of electricity from it being open this is a waste of staff it is the worst staff ever this place has the most dirtiest most most unorganized. This building is a absolute disrespect to the federal government and United States of America
I wish I can rate this a Zero starCause literally this Is the worst post office everI don’t like ItI wish they can just go out of BusinessThe way this people areAre just mind blowingBad Customer Service and they should fired this young women the literally refused to take my packageI don’t recommend this place at all❗️
They are barely bare minimum... if you dont like your job- its that simple... you should quit! I ordered a knee scooter and paid for expedited delivery. I waited at home all day with family and then got a text update that there was an attempted delivery but no one was home. I requested re-delivery and it said for 2 full weeks - that it was in transit for re-delivery. No one not even corporate could find out where it was because the local post office literally just had it in limbo... I wasnt able to walk (hence needing the knee scooter) so I sent a friend in with my ID to see if it was there. Turns out it was there the entire time and the NEVER planned to redeliver it... whats even crazier is that they asked ME to come in in-person to pick up a the knee scooter that I needed to WALK... cannot make this up. After a lot of back and forth another employee okayd my friend picking it up with my ID and written permission. I then got a call weeks later - they were apparently follow up on my lost package claim... the same post office never registered that the package was already picked up... completely incompetent.
I am extremely disappointed, I came in to get a package that was delivered already, the place was very unorganized, I asked and was directed to a line that ended at the entrance, a very slow line, and there are other angry folk that are not getting their package, when I finally reach the front of the line I’m told I cannot receive my package just because it came on Sunday that I would have to come tomorrow, I wasn’t given a valid reason, it would be nice if a sign was placed outside about this, that way people like me could not waste their time

2022-05-13They will not deliver or legitimately attempt if you have stairs and no elevator. Often times if it’s even a medium sized package they will force you to pick it up. You can try and reschedule delivery but it’ll just be listed as reattempted - even if you’re home and no bell was rung - they will say it was attempted and say to pick it up. And you wont get a mail slip either. So good luck. Luckily I live nearby but I know that I may possibly use my whole lunch hour to get my package…

2022-05-25They just dont know what theyre doing. Apparently someone is in charge but they are never there. Tried to reschedule for a delivery and couldnt, and when theres a delivery attempt theyre suppose to leave a notice with instructions on what to do next and there was no notice. I dont get it, its not hard to do your job.

2022-02-01I figured out how they work. They help one customer, than wait 4 to 5 minutes pretending theyre busy doing something, than they help the next customer. Rise and repeat. Go to the one on 125th, so much better. Its unfortunate because this location is two blocks from my apartment but I cant rely on this location for anything.

2019-06-01I picked up a pkg. today and the slip was dated 5/27. Upon receiving it, I then requested additional information. Can I use the postal address to receive packages (fedex, Amazon, Groupon, etc). She checked my box and said it was closed from a month ago. I I was confused, because I know I had paid for a year and I hadn’t been in my current location for that long. She asked me if I had a receipt or anything to prove that, so I ran home and checked my bank statements and sure enough I found the payment for $112 made in November. I then returned to the post office and then showed her the proofs. She tells me she can do nothing although she does see proof that I did pay for a year. I said could you not tell the guy who is physically opening the box For non-payment to simply not open mind as you have seen proof that I paid for a year! No sir, the computer says that it’s closed so there’s nothing I can do I can’t get into the system. I said I don’t need you to go into the system, but since you can see that there is an error on the side of the post office you can simply tell him not to open my box until this is rectified. Apparently they don’t pay these people to think and she continues to tell me there’s nothing she can do. I’m told I need to come in on Monday. I told her I couldn’t because I work 8 to 8 and when I called the post office which I did prior to coming in that day no one answers! Her response well I don’t work with the phones I work at the front so I don’t know what to tell you. You need to hire people who have more than a 10th grade education people can think! How does a person see proof that I paid for something, but will still penalize me and then force me to have to open another box or pay for a different box. I’m the one that has to alert all the companies that bill me. You guys need to hire individuals who know how to use their brain and not your attitude because they’re hidden behind the plexiglass! She is ignorant! Look at the date on my box (not closed apparently)!

2021-06-03These people are rude & they dont take they job seriously at all. They are lazy & unprofessional. Im not understanding how does it take a week for me to receive my package. They don’t update they systems regularly & they workers have miscommunication with each other. The Supervisor & Manager are no help they get frustrated at the customers when they don’t do they job right. This place needs to be shut down immediately.

2020-12-28This place is an example of the systemic neglect of minority communities in our country. This post office is shameful. Lines out the door. Rude employees who wont even scan packages. Shameful. I am a daily USPS customer. If you go to the post office on 112th and Amsterdam it is a whole other world. It is truly second class treatment.

2020-11-14This Post Office used to be fantastic! I will give it an F-! Postal workers put a certified letter in my box THAT I had NOT signed for, I have a right to refuse any mail and do Return to Sender! Had to alert the Station Manager! Regular carrier once sent my mail to the dead letter truck in Atlanta, GA!I dont speak to him anymore! I dont know why the Corporate Office doesnt do ANYTHING about this Post Office, it is the PITTS! Rude, disrespectful behavior from the Clerks and Ive lived in the Community for 35 years!

2018-05-26I’ve overheard the mail lady telling my super that she didn’t feel like walking upstairs with my package so she wasn’t going to try to deliver it at all, even after he suggested she should because I was home. She can come pick it up at the post office, she said. Whoever the mail people are, they CONSTANTLY fail to deliver my packages. It’s just too inconvenient to them to do their job. Even the times I’m home, they don’t bother to ring the doorbell and often don’t leave a slip saying they tried to deliver. I’ve had to call many times and investigate where my package is. If I’ve payed extra for express shipping, it’s because I need something and it’s important to get it in a timely manner. This doesn’t seem to matter to this post office though. They really don’t care and just figure people can waste their time going to the post office in person and waiting in the super slow lines. I’ve seen long lines of people who didn’t get their packages delivered at all. I’ve tried calling USPS and after being put on hold for a long time, I was just told they’d investigate but things remain the same.

2019-07-12The level of incompetence of not only this location but the entire USPS system is impossible to comprehend.Last night I took a chance and called the toll free number to ask about a package that should have been left at myHome 3 days ago. The automated system asked if I’d be willing to take a survey after my call because “THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS IMPORTANT TO THE POSTAL SERVICE”. The system then announced that my wait time would 35-45 minutes!!!!! :-)What a joke!!

2019-09-04This is probably the worst post office location I’ve ever encountered. The operations management, is in desperate need of review. The desk is ALWAYS short staffed. In addition, some of the employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. They can be very unpleasant when approaching the desk. Lines are extremely too long and they have difficulty locating packages. The self-service machine is ALWAYS down for long periods of time, forcing you to the line. A lot of patrons would like to see an entirely new, trained, professional staff and more reliable self-service equipment!
