United States Postal Service in other cities:
5 stars from the amazing assistance from Fredrika. Thank you so much for helping us file for our passports, and for being so patient with my two year old when he needed his photo taken. The fact that Ms. Fredrika kept her composure and was helping everyone when there were only two people working and a long line, blew my mind. I wish there were more postal service employees like her!
The service there is not good you employees don’t want to speak or help a lady in front me had babies and forgot her pen the person refuse to give her one I was shocked then comes my turn same person didn’t know or may didn’t want to give me their manager info. USPS train your employees at this location customer service is weak
I set a passport appointment two months in advance get a email confirming my appointment the day before I get there stand on line get a call from a unfamiliar number and to my surprise they cancelled my appointment on the spot while I’m on the line why email confirm it and then cancel it 10 minutes before my initial appointment unbelievable i took a day off from work for this what a complete waste
The worst post office I have ever dealt with. My packages NEVER get delivered. When I file a case this post office does absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. You’re better off spending the extra money to get things delivered through Fedex or UPS. USPS needs to completely restart this place, every single person in this office is rude!
Most of the time, I’m talking 90% of the time. I have to chase my packages to the post office when I pay for amazon prime and never get my stuff when they guaranteed the delivery to be on time, not because of amazon but because of the lazy workers that never attempt to even buzz the outside buzzer! They report what ever they want for an excuse why it wasn’t delivered all the time. I work from home...so I’m Always available for my packages. Bottom line supervisor over there needs to go...or grow a pair and SUPERVISE! Everyone download the grievance file and fill it out maybe we’ll get results!
I absolutely hate going to this post officeALL of the female staff have very disgusting attitudesIf you can’t deal with the public then you shouldn’t be in the customer service fieldThey ran out of money orders for four days straight the lines are always long they will stare in your face and the nerve to have an attitude when calling the next person on lineThrow all the staff awayI walk all the way to the check cashing place on Lenox just so I don’t have to deal with the rude nasty staff
Call this office if there is an issue with a priority package. Miss Wesley was extremely helpful in getting an address error fixed, and re-delivered in a timely manner. This was for a priority shipment for a work related delivery. They coordinated with the USPS delivery person who couldnt deliver the item at 8 AM, and had my package redelivered correctly in an hour. I had more of an issue with the corporate end of USPS here... who I called and was not able to fix the situation and misinformed me (though the rep was nice... I was waiting on the phone for an hour after being told to wait 20-30 min by the robo voice) as the actions that the Corporate end told me they were going to implement, they didnt even do. Call this local office and be polite, and they will be able to fix the issue!
They can have very long lines and not enough staff to help. They hardly ever deliver my packages and lie about making delivery attempts. Theyve lost and misdelivered several of my packages. They force ederly or disabled people to walk downstairs to retrieve packages and hardly offer to meet them halfway. I go out of my way to avoid this post office. There is one carrier that is very kind thats why I gave it one star
Clerk 07 (at window 4) was awesome! She accommodated me out of the kindness of her heart when I walked in to apply for passports for me and my family. She gently made me aware that they only process passports by appointment and made an exception to help me. I am extremely grateful. She was knowledgeable, walked me through the whole process, took the time to point out and explain and was professional and polite the entire way through.
I had a package that was being delivered and got a notice for attempted delivery but no one ever came to my door and never left a attempted delivery notice. When I called to confirm the location of the package after requesting to have the package to be held at the office, they were not helpful. I called in needed 1 min to get the tracking number since I had not attempted delivery slip and she put me on hold for a long time. I hand to hang up and call back.
Mail carrier delivered my package in the parcel locker in my building instead of coming upstairs to deliver the package to me personally. I was home at the time of delivery. Anyway long story short the carrier never left the key in my mailbox so I can retrieve my package from the parcel locker. Basically the manager at this site did nothing to help me locate the package when I called several times to make out a complaint. I was told the package was delivered to my location then I was told the carrier came back to my location and checked all the lockers and didnt see my package. WHAT HAPPEN TO MY PACKAGE? I feel the carrier never delivered my package or put the parcel locker key in someone elses mailbox.
This is by far THE. WORST. Post Office. The people behind the counter are rude, slow, and uninformed. I witnessed them being rude (more than once)to people for not speaking English well. This location also apparently didn’t have stamps for a few weeks! Very confusing how that can happen at a post office. I realize this is a thankless job, but some level of customer service would be appreciated.
Most of the agents are indignant, churlish and very unprofessional! And they think they are special simply because they have a Federal job! And their communication skills are sub par!!!!!! I’m talking about the agents in Lincolnton Post Office in Harlem.UpdateDecember 7th, 2020Extremely long lines. 2 clerks working BOTH with nasty attitudes! This place needs a massive overhaul.
This place doesnt deserve ONE star. I clicked the one star because there isnt a BLANK to click.Your mail, your credit cards, your packages, all get STOLEN from this post office. I am missing several packages, several credit cards have been stolen, and the management doesnt care when I contact the office to speak to them regarding my STOLEN items. This is the worse post office that I have ever visited and receive services from. Missing mail is a serious issue also. My rent payment that I mailed 2 weeks before the rent was due, was missing and never received at the rental office, until I called the post office management to complain, and 30 days later, my rent payment showed up at the rental office. I wonder how or where the envelope had been.
For the second time my registered package is nowhere to be found. They took my phone # and will call me after they get in touch with the mail carrier. Why should she have it as it needs a signature and I already got a notice. The personal is slow and all the sorry in the world cannot make up for the lack of organization and courtesy. I dread to go there on a day off or Saturday as it is the only time I can get there during open hours.Wake up USPS and you will loose less customers!
Terrible for years, nothing new here! 95% Rude staff. I guess things wont change until the racist gentrification is finished in the community, then suddenly, the govt will hire professionals to serve the other residents who move in from downtown and get the professional services, that the former Harlem residents never got... At this PO, right now, Slow service. Usual USPS unprofessionalism. MTA, Postal employees, etc, often rude. Why doesnt govt send quality control and identify rude people? No one seems to care (govt officials, staff, workers). Taxpayers are the losers since we get poor service, no political representation (taxation without representation) yet everyone works for us. PS: Anyone that gave this higher than 1 star must have been a paid friend, or bot. The plantation never went anywhere, self hate, willie lynch, gentrification, etc. Caste system.
First off my mail carrier thought itd be appropriate to leave a solitary rubber band in my mail box instead of a note saying that I wouldnt be receiving my amazon prime packages that day. Maybe they should offer training on how to actually ring bells because chances are that the person is home waiting for their package....like me!!! As if the incompetence of the mail man wasnt enough, I called 12 times to the office on the day I rescheduled after being put on hold for 40 minutes, because that person never came back to the phone, to make sure my packages were arrving that day. Its clear the people here dont care at all to do their jobs and thats a shame, especially since my cats food was in one of those packages. Its a miracle my cat didnt die of starvation while waiting (thats an extreme exaggeration). Perhaps if I had ordered with standard shipping I wouldnt be so disappointed in the service, however, i expected 2 day shipping from amazon prime as promised. I really hope amazon stops using usps because its obviously these people have been doing this for years and dont have any future plans of changing their system.
They are sooo slow and unorganized. My package has been lost in this station for 3 days now. A package that is time crucial to be received. Nobody knows where its at and the best answer they can give is Well call you if it pops up. Some of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable but that doesnt make up for how many packages in the past I have had trouble receiving from this post office. Its better to ship brown, use UPS or even Fedex.
The women there have no customer service especially on weekends. When tying to ask a question I got no eye contact, she never looked up to acknowledge me. There are no clear signs as to where to go for passports. Life is too short and if you don’t like your job there are plenty of people in need of employment.
Lol @ the guy below me who obviously works there. This is the worst post office hands down, no argument necessary. Yes we all expect waits. But none of us expect to be treated like a prisoner once we finally do get to the front of the line. Look me in the eye yo! Or say good morning, anything that makes me feel like you care at all about what youre doing. My personal favorite about this place is when they consolidate the line from 1 for package retrieval and 1 for everything else to just 1 for everything. Then when they do remember they have more than 1 person working there, they open up the other window, and yell at you for standing around like an idiot. This is a special kind of hell.
Everyone at this post office is competing to be the rudest, most incompetent person you will meet that day. Even the ones that eventually try to help you aren’t usually equipped to do so. Today they actually told me they couldn’t give me my package “because there were too many things in the bin and they can’t organize it.” This is after standing in this miserable non-air conditioned building for almost half an hour. No wonder the US Postal Service is failing.
They should hire a whole new crew. The service is like they doing you a favor. There is no customer service, no sense of direction and rude. I was there to pick up a package only for the clerk to tell me and another customer after 10 mins the line is closed. We go to the other line to wait 15 mins in line only for a clerk to yell out from the line we was just on... Anyone here for packages give me your tickets... that put myself and the other customer 10 ahead of us. When i asked about the organization... i was told well im just trying to help so you can give me your ticket or go back to the line you just came from... needless to say that didnt help the situation none. This place is a disaster period....
Amazon shipped my packages early and I missed them, so I had to reschedule and they were delivered the day I rescheduled them for. There were a lot of packages and some of them quite large, so I want to thank the carriers for their hard work in having to deliver all of the packages twice.
This post office is dark, dreary and depressing. They are missing basic services such as a kiosk machine where you can weigh a pkg and get stamps from the machine. Staff are lethargic and dont seem to be interested in their job. If you are in Harlem, go to the 116th station which is a much better post office.
The post office as well am many other government run businesses lose billions of dollars per year. This is because they dont have competition or progressive business models. This is a dated service and this post office just confirms why you should avoid the usps at all cost. Just a bad experience guaranteed.
I think arguably this may be the worst post office in all of New York City. Our mail delivery postal worker puts the mail in the wrong mailboxes all the time. I complained to the supervisor and she said she knows but he needs eyeglasses. Are you kidding me? I’d give it less than one star if I could.
Well, to start off with let me just say. People come to the post office and expect to be waited on in 2-5 mins. Unfortunately thats not always the case. New Yorkers are in way to much of a hurry. They want everything done (yesterday) . I myself know that when I go to the post office. I know that there will be a wait time of at least 10-30 minutes. (And holidays when the wait time is always over (30 minutes)As for myself, I always have my parcels and packages ready for the window clerk. ( boxes taped up the right way ,and when I can, I add the postage ON my packages before hand) .Then there are those who come to the post office to look for a misplaced package. or piece of mail ( which does happen now and again ) . Rest assured these people are only human . I have stood there often and listen to people rant & scream vulgar and obscene language at the person behind the counter. In one case a person went on a yelling and cursing spree for 10 minutes about a piece of mail that was not delivered to them. Banging ,screaming, yelling and bacily holding up the entire line. Only to realize that he gave the person sending the letter to them. The wrong address in the first place. So please people, try to be a little more patient. :-)
Horrible service. The staff is slow and unprofessional. They act as though customers had nothing else to do but spend the day on line at the post office. I cannot remember a time when I was in and out in a jiffy. I just called them, and the phone rang for several minutes before someone answered! I wish I could receive my packages elsewhere.
If I could give 0 stars I would, I dont understand how they are still in business. I missed my package, I was home all day and they didnt even come to my door or ring the buzzard. The slip stated that they will attempt to re deliver, I decided to go to here because lets face it theirs no point of you paying more for next day delivery when the USPS decides to hire people who dont even want to take a elevator flight up so re-delivery seemed far fetch. Their was a huge single line for everything and an over weight Spanish man (Elvis) walks out from the back screaming if anyone was here for pick up. I walk up to him tell him that whom ever they had deliver it didnt actually come up. The package was under my husbands name (I AM LEGALLY MARRIED) meaning we have the same address and have for the past couple of years along with the same last name. This over weight man (Elvis) shows me the package and tells me he cannot give it to me because I do not walk around with my husbands ID. In what world ! Do you walk around with someone elses ID none the less an ID is a identification card WHO ARE YOU IDENTIFYING !?! Im convinced this has to be the most idiotic policy ever and completely disregard the fact that Im legally married and some how this government company misunderstands the purpose of an identification card.
One of the worst post office ive ever been. Long wait with only 1 or 2 window clerks available and very slow service with 20-25people on the line. Some of the clerks are rude and needs to be retrained towards customer service. What a shame to USPS. Wake up USPS management!!! Do the right thjng....
If I could give a quarter of a star I would. This is the worst post office Ive ever been to. They consistently dont have staff & lines running out the doors. Its unfortunate that I have been there more than once when someone requests to speak to the manager on duty who chooses to refuse to come out from the back. It is still a customer service operation and they dont seem to have any.
These women at this location are horrible. The customer service is horrible. Their attitudes are disgraceful. No hello, no thank you, nothing... even when you say it to them. They all clearly hate their lives and their job but good god if you hate it that much quit instead of being rude to everyone.
I thought I may circumvent some of the horrors written about here, but after sitting on hold for 3 and a half hours I realized I was mistaken. Clearly this post office doesnt function properly regardless of platform you use to access it. About an hour into being a hold a woman answered and seemed shocked by the fact that I was still waiting, and after being rushed along explaining my issue I was put on hold again to wait another two+ hours until I finally hung up because its absurd.
Some of the window workers, are unprofessional; to say the least. As far as the comment that a Google user made The surrounding does appear a bit sketchy but should be okay in day time. I live around the area, and its a perfectly safe neighborhood, day and night! Thank you.

People are the worst .. They should change the employees .. Carrier never delivers to the door & always saying they left a notice when most of the times the notice is not even there .. They straight liars and cheaters .. They gonna get it soon tho watch 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 run up in there with the strap one time
Terrible. Slow. Rude. Ratchet. About 25% at this station should be working there. The rest should be fired immediately. But it wont happen. Poor communities have hommies/friends (unskilled at anything othe than being rude, and mean, and not providing quality service) of hooked up people and they protect each other. Willie Lynch mixed with House ne--- mindsets. This pattern repeats around the world in black communities, America, Caribbean, Central America, So America, etc. The black leaders are too busy stealing property, and selling out the community, and getting their puppets jobs in MTA, and Post Office, etc to care about customers, voters etc. CLEARLY no one reads these messages, post offices in Harlem (and other black communities around America) are notoriously terrible. Thats how the system wants it. Create various castes and then one group spits on the other group, even though the other groups are the customers paying for service? The slave system/etc is still in effect. FIRE THE MANAGERS theyre sitting in the back, probably playing on FB or picking their noses.
My packages are CONTINUOUSLY misplaced or lost. Despite showing proof of delivery and every tracking information that confirms my packages were delivered to the post office, they aren’t found or handed for pick up in timely manners. Every time I need to get a package, it’s such a battle to collect them. It’s ridiculous. They post office appears under staffed, under paid, and generally no longer caring about helping people. I am so tired of waiting up to a week just for them to find packages that have been there. I need my medicine and pet’s food. I need to be able to pick up packages as they arrive. It’s so irritating

2022-02-25Easily the worst post office in the United States. Poor customer service, lines are always several people long, and the post office routinely does not have stamps. There is zero quality control, and residents in 10037 often do not get their mail. Forget bad weather- they just will not be bothered to deliver it. If I can avoid it, I will go to the post office on 124th which has much better customer service and quality control.

2022-01-04This post office is horrible. No serious workers, the proof their review is at 1.9. After leaving my job to accompany my daughter it is a few hours that we are called to tell us that the appointment is canceled it is terrible. All these workers must be kicked out. This is the second time with my first daughter, same problem.

2021-12-07At about 9:45am I visited this post office to cash a $100 money order and was flatly refused. Collectively I was told that all three postal clerks operating cash registers were empty. Finding this hard to believe being as they have only been open now for 50 minutes or so I asked to speak with manager “Nathan”. To which he merely just shouted from the doorway “does anybody have cash in their draw?” To which of course without even lifting their heads to even so much as acknowledge him they all stated “nah”. He then told me to “come back later when they make some money”. Oddly enough I accommodated him and returned a hour later. Upon waiting my turn on line and ultimately being called to window 3 I encountered postal clerk “smith” who immediately proceeded to misgender me and flatly refuse to service me because I was transgendered. Ultimately I was immediately triggered by “smith” disgusting actions outing me and sadden by their blatant disregard of me as a community member within the very community they serve weekly.

2021-08-25The letter carriers for my area work out of this station although I’ve been told that this Lincolnton Station is NOT the original one for my neighborhood. Apparently there was a change made several years ago where all delivered mail to my neighborhood is sorted here. Sadly this has got to be the worse deal going. I’ve had multiple pay checks stolen. They appear on my informed delivery and then never show up in my mailbox-EVER. Two years ago I went to Lincolnton and complained and the postal workers on site went up to my carriers box and found two of my checks just sitting there —they should have been delivered 3 days prior. No clue as to why they were being held. The postal workers on the window are friendly, competent and for the most part very sympathetic but the carriers-at least to the area just East of Marcus Garvey Park—are questionable.

2021-03-20They never pick up scheduled packages. They Never scan packages and thats why they get lost so often. Phone has been broken for 4 months, manager aware and reported but not fixed. Spoke to 800 and they are no help. They cant call out but they sent messages to local spot and no one is fixing issues that have been going on for over 15 years now with my mail. The line is always out the door at least a 45min wait if youre lucky. Took over 1 hour just to buy some stamps. The workers are always very rude and ghetto as hell- get rid of them.

2021-09-29Worst post office ever!!!! Had an appointment for a passport come the day I went there and was informed on the spot that there was no passport service that day. Nobody called or even emailed me before I got there. Talked to a supervisor who gave me the manager number to call. He promised to get back to me but never did. What a. Unprofessional leader

2021-06-11This postal office location always goes above and beyond in giving the worst customer service, ever. 90% of the time your packages get lost…I have minimized my online ordering, just from the fear that the company is gonna use the USPS as delivery carrier.I don’t understand how does this place keep running when it’s obvious there is no structure, no competence, no professionalism, no sympathy, no empathy, no nothing.

2021-06-11The self-service kiosk was out of order and there was a long line in the lobby. Despite that, service was quick and helpful, even with only 2-3 employees. A little patience can go a long way.

2021-03-05Once again, a carrier (alcoholic), delivered my package (costly) to someone else. I have been waiting on an update for one week now. Absolutely disgusting. This has been going on for decades. They are in for a rude awakening if any of my upcoming packages are not put in MY MAILBOX. I also have no money to waste, so I am expecting the missing package to be found!
