United States Postal Service in other cities:
If I could give this branch 0 stars I would. Showed up for an 11:30 am passport appointment. They didnt call us until we had started walking out the door at 11:50 am and when I told the lady we had to pick up our other child from school at 12:20, her response was Well, I cant rush this. Egregious customer service and response. Will absolutely never go back to this branch again and will frankly be using USPS as little as humanly possible now. They dont deserve my money.
Worst experience in my life! Most of the workers are incompetent, lazy and rude.More than 2 hours for renew my daughter passport. They let the doors open all the time, security?Who care!Pregnant women left to wait for hours, only one windows open for everybody.I can write for hour at the shame I assist there...Bump everyone there!
Honestly the best service Ive received from any post office in NYC. Ive lived in every borough. Better than any in Manhattan (Cooper Station was the worst). I actually get answers and the workers at the windows help me out. Happy this is my local post office. Evelyn is the best!
Unprofessional staff, I had a package with pre-paid label on it that has been returned, usually in these cases they subtract the amount from existing label and ask to pay the difference for the new label, but at this location they all believe that I have to pay a full amount again, so to re-ship the package I had to pay $8.75 (first returned label)+ $12.75 (for the new one)=$20 total, ridiculous…I will never again go to this post office…
I have mixed feelings about this post office. The service here is ok, but the mailman who delivers to my building doesnt bother to knock on your door to deliver the pkgs. He automatically sticks the slip in the mailbox, so u can pick up the pkg. Pure laziness. I hate picking up bcuz there us no parking over there. I complain about him every time I go to this office
This post office has changed a lot — and for the better — since the pandemic began. There are always at least three employees taking people in at the windows, no matter what time I’ve come. They’re professional, they ask if you need anything else, and none of my stuff has gotten lost. To the guy here who wrote this was “the worst experience” of his life? Allow me to suggest you probably haven’t lived enough. It’s a post office. Not a Caribbean resort.
Best post office I’ve had in 40 years and numerous zip codes in NYC- Staff is friendly, knowledgeable & efficient, particularly when dealing with the inevitable customers who come totally unprepared to do their business. I come here 3-6 days a week and have never had a long wait, which is something of a miracle in this town.
Ive had both positive and negative experiences when dealing with this Post Office. Positive is when I get my packages with NO problem. Negative is when they said theyve tried to deliver when they havent and I have to call them back a few times to find out my package is at the Post Office and I have to go pick it up. 🤔
I’m pretty surprised at all the negative reviews, although they all seem to be about Passports and lost packages, which I can’t really speak to. I live in the neighborhood and don’t come terribly often, but any time I need to send a package or buy stamps, etc., I’ve found the employees to be very friendly and helpful. Last week I needed to mail an international package, and it was honestly a little daunting since it was important merchandise and a slightly odd shape, and I didn’t have the proper packaging for it. I thought I would just inquire about packaging and cost and then come back later on after packaging everything at home. However, Diana received me at the window and pretty much convinced me I didn’t need to make things so complicated for myself. She suggested a large padded envelope, which fit everything perfectly (I was sure I needed a box so this worked out great, and cheaper!) She explained how to fill out the paperwork and told me to come back to the line once it was completed. She was busy with another customer when I came back so I went to a different window where another very kind woman explained that I missed something on the form (sadly, I didn’t get her name). I made the correction and came back, this time to Diana. She gave me all of my shipping and insurance options, and the rest went really smoothly. I was so pleased with how easy the whole process was and how incredibly nice, professional, and patient Diana was...I made sure to get her name and write her a review. Thank you for making my day a little bit easier!
I had an appointment today for a passport at 10:15. I arrived 15 min early (USPS website asks you to arrive 10 min early). Still I had to wait 45 min. There was only 1 person in front of me. It took the USPS employee 30 min to check and process the documents of ONE PERSON. That should take 5 min tops. And then when it was my turn the lady didnt know what a Certified Copy was (insisted that they only do original docs, which is not true according to State Deps website). Also, she was not aware that the expedited service is back on (it just changed yesterday). I guess maybe I was expecting too much from incompetent USPS employees. Can someone please privatize this organization?!? I bet if it was FEDEX it would be way easier. Even the DMV works way better.
A true testament to NYC. A grand, beautiful building houses a dilapidated interior, maintained by clerks who want to be anywhere else, but at work. If you can understand them through 2 layers of heavy, covid proof (and bulletproof too?) glass then you’ll be fine, otherwise; expect to get chastised once or twice. For providing an essential service at exceptional prices, five stars.
Terrible terrible service. passport line is only 5 customers. but the workers took a really really long break, more than one our... they dont care about the customer. And when they open the service window, only one parson is taking care of customers, and they work super slow. The other workers are just sitting around. I think here is only stupid people working here. They dont know how to work efficiently. even a kid could do better. Be careful, if you are getting a passport for your baby/kid, the wait time is over 3 hours, even with such a short line. Parents and the baby are required to be present. There is no restroom, almost standing room only, no changing table, and no place to feed your baby. What good service huh?
Worst post office ever!!!!!! Never go here for your walk in passport renewal. I went here thinking the process was going to be quicker but they had me and other people waiting for more then three hours. The wait was already so long, and they decided to take other group of people instead of checking us first. I never give reviews on places but the reason why i am writing this review is because of the clerk that told me it was okay to not have an id when i told her i lost mine and because of that i had to wait for three hours. The clerk happily went home without realizing that because of her unprofessional decision. I had to wait this long. I will never come to this post office again. And i hope u won’t to. I should’ve realized not to come her when i saw the low rating of this post office.
I like the customer service here, they are always very nice. Whenever there is a long line the floor manager comes out for people who are picking up for Pobox. Also if someone needs to mail something that isnt in a hurry there is a kiosk. Ive had clerks find a package that was to be sent back but they caught it in time. The building itself is beautiful if youre lucky enough youd be able to tour the inside and walk up that brass staircase.
Ive never been @ this Post Office. However, every time I need to send Renewel Correspondenceto the Department of Transportation Its always lost even though I have sent my package Certifiedwith Tracking! I receive a letter from the DOT advising me they still have not received my application.Needless to say, I then contact the Long Island City - Post Office and explain that Ive tracked it overtwo weeks ago, and it shows delivery to their location! This is ongoing incompetence on the part ofthis Post Office. These documents once again, have to be copied and sent. In any case, I am sofearful they will lose or misplace another of my Correspondence. This is an absolute disgrace, for their negligence. This parking permit is very much needed! I am a caregiver for an elderly seniorwho is on oxygen! Thus Post Office has caused a real hardship and inconvenience for both thedisabled veteran senior and myself.😪
I havent been to the post office in a few years now, but customer service at this branch was great. It was very busy, but a lady came out to assist people, she moved some to other lines to expedite the process, she was bilingual and assisted both language customers. It was a surprising and pleasant experience.
Extremely inefficient. They have one employee managing passport applications, on Saturday, when they know they will have the most “customers” (no one has a choice but to get their passports renewed here). Since they know people have no choice, and the USPS is a non profit motivated institution, they have 0 incentive to improve upon thier processes whatsoever. Because of this, they comfortably sit back moving at 1 mph while 50-70 people wait on line for hours.
UPDATE 3/13/18: WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS... 3 MONTHS LATER AND MY PACKAGE IS STILL MISSING!! NO RETURN, WAS NEVER DELIVERED AND I CANT GET A REFUND. HAVENT USED THEIR SERVICE SINCE!!I just got off the phone with a customer service rep after waiting on hold for OVER AN HOUR, just to be told that they cannot provide a refund on a lost package that is Priority mail that has still been undelivered after 15 days!! I scheduled a re-delivery and it NEVER WENT OUT!! Every time they attempted to delivery this package it was after business hours. Why would they not leave it in the mailbox??? I was forced to hand-deliver these important documents and all she could say was sorry. I tried to speak to a manager and she said that there are no managers, this is a call center. Are you kidding me?? How does a government run operation work in this fashion. Its deplorable!! You lost a major client. Will no longer ship through USPS, back to FedEx I go, you get what you pay for! This company should be ashamed of itself. Disgusting!!
Terrible Service. You ask for a supervisor and they are equal to or less then knowledgeable then the person that answers the phone. I paid for overnight shipping and they lost my package the first time and 2 months later I sent another package and they lost that one as well. The package was literally traveling 5 miles both times. I guess I should have delivered it myself.
Forget about going there, I run a local business and if mail would come consistently(if at all) would be a miracle. Sometimes 4-5 days go past and I get no mail. Its very difficult to run business when the mail does not come. Countless times my clients will call and say they sent a check a week ago from NYC!!!!!, I never got it. Completely screws up my deadlines as well as my cash flow. You just keep delivering mail to those high rise buildings(where no ones home) first and wait till after 6PM to deliver to the local business that at that time are closed(Buildings are locked, cant get to the box at that time). Brilliant scheduling. Point is, those bills your delivering to the local residents first... guess what, they cant pay them because their employer hasnt received the checks he needs to pay them on Friday. Has to be the most mis managed post office I have ever seen. This has been going on for years. Everyday a new courier. One time a mailman came to me asking where is this building???? Calling them.....forget about it. One time i called for 20 minutes straight, over and over and it sounded like someone was actually picking up the phone and just slamming it down. I really hope you go bust and FedEx takes over the federal mail system.
Quick resolution and excellent service! As a rule of thumb with USPS, I take every experience there with a grain of salt as one never knows whom or what you will find. Typically you find some extreme and angry customers. Today was pleasant - orderly flow, issues being handled, and a post office that handled it all well! They listened to my issue and resolved it in short work. Great experience! Thank you!
Well, we need to employ incompetent people somehow and this post office just a place for it. They never pick up the phone, at the window they are extremely slow. Out of 5 windows only 1 one is open at most times. They lose 2 out of 5 packages on average. If you ask, they give you exact date of delivery with funny description, like Delivered to front desk/reception area . Like I have one. We dont call or go there anymore. Its cheaper just to order another package. After all, its a good chance that I will get second package because 3 out of 5 actually get delivered. Good job ...NOT!!!
I want to start by saying I never post reviews and waste my time. But for this I felt I had to. If I can give less than 1 star for this post office I honestly would. This is by far one of the worst post offices Ive ever been to. If you going to this office to do anything around passports, this is your warning. Be prepared to camp out for hours. I stood in the same spot for over an hour and didnt move not even an foot. I had to walk out because this place doesnt know what there doing. Good luck to everyone who wants to take a chance, especially if you plan to come on a Saturday.
I will give 0 star if I could. We came here to make passport on Friday at noon. There was only one person who was taking care of passport applications. It was so slow. It was incredibly slow. There was a long line for passport window. Everybody on the line was complaining but officers didnt care about customers!! They were chatting and moving slowly. They are not trying to improve service. So lazy!!!
I generally like the USPS but ever since moving to LIC and having to deal with this branch it has been awful. At one point they just stopped delivering my mail for a month and said it was because my building had not notified them I had moved. But I had done a successful address change through their website, and they had already been delivering my mail to the new address for a month before they stopped so that makes no sense. On multiple occasions Ive seen the carrier leave the lobby mailboxes all unlocked with the master key and just leave for the day - any dishonest person has a help yourself buffet to your mail and packages.Ive also seen some very strange parcel delivery from them. Two separate Amazon orders placed on the same day, but shipped separately with two day shipping apparently somehow both got damaged on the same day after reaching this post office, then delayed twice for delivery even though its 300 feet to my building. And then the tracking info just stopped updating and a week later I neither have my packages nor can get a hold of anyone.Seriously how has USPS HQ not fired the entire staff here? They need to start from scratch.
I had a package coming from Japan but it wasnt delivered because of incomplete address. I called in USPS in the morning and they told me to go to my local post office, where my package is. I came in the afternoon, the man said my package was sent back to the sender. I was shocked, attempted delivery once and got sent back the next day? The man told me he was sure it was sent back and he looked very carefully for my package. Four days later, I received a notification that my package was sent back this morning. Really upset because the man didnt actually take his time to look. And now I have to pay extra for my package to sent back to me.
Is there a way to leave 0 stars? This post office is an embarrassment to American People. Apparently the managers/ supervisors are really nasty people because is not 1 single happy ( or competent ) person working there. Even the mail delivery has got worse. Our business now gets mail at 6 PM everyday, and hour after we close. Complain about it ? to how? We call the number listed and no one bothers to answer. The US Post office deserves to goes bankrupt. All the employees are just lazy mooching parasites. Its a welfare state.
First time dealing with this office, called at 9:45am and the call was answered in less than a minute, lady was really nice and helpful even offered to hold a package for me to pick up instead of waiting till 6pm to get it delivered. If I didnt have to go to work I wouldve picked it up.. Lets just hope the delivery man actually delivers my package (4 stars because 1st time no one rang bell or left a notice but Amazon sent me a text that they attempted delivery.. I canceled plans to sit home all day for nothing).. USPS needs better delivery guys..
Worst experience interacting with a government institution of my life. Not exaggerating. Waited 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a baby, in the passport line for just 4 people ahead of us to be processed. There were 4 postal employees working and only one was working the passport line and she was extremely slow. Making matters worse, 3 of the 4 people ahead of us didn’t bring in passport photos and the woman working the passport line was unfamiliar and ill-equipped to take passport photos. It took 35 minutes for her to take one infant’s photo. The postal worker was rude as well and this post office perfectly exemplifies why bureaucrats are a longstanding joke.
This mail center has lost packages or delivered EMPTY envelopes with contents missing (but not the packing slip!) to my apartment at least 3 or 4 times in the last year. If there were a 0 or negative star option, I would give it. They dont answer their phones and let it ring on end with no response. The amount of money Ive lost with them is just unfair and unfathomable. Someone needs to hold them accountable.
I found this place by luck and so glad I did! Being new to the neighborhood I was walking long distance to Kinkos and paying more for my copies, fax and prints. This place is close and worth the very few times Ive had to wait. Ive been there many times since the prices are the cheapest and the service is the best. The girl there has such patience and a really beautiful way of handling even rush hour times when the place is packed. Shes very friendly and loves her job she enjoys helping people and doesnt rush anyone. Everything is organized and convenient and just very easy for customers. What makes a person want to go back is really her friendliness even under pressure it amazes me. She gives everyone receipts and eases the stress of those Ive observed sending international or domestic packages. I would recommend this place to anyone. Let me not forget the hours are late and very convenient. I think owner should get her help at least part time I wouldnt want them to loose her. Thats the only reading I left 1 start out.
Avoid the frustration, send it UPS or FedEx. Lost packages too frequently. As the primary branch in my area, packages and mail get routed through this location first. They have lost my packages multiple times, and being the USPS, have pretty terrible customer service when attempting to find these packages. Have experienced the range from being told there was a failed attempt and it will be redelivered (no attempt was made, we were home at the time) to being told to go to the wrong subsidiary branches to pick up packages once they were found (ended up driving to every branch in the neighborhood just to ask if they had our package before one of them actually did).
To call the people who work here morons would be a compliment to them. My packages always seem lost and no one knows how to find them its truly an adventure every time to get them to me always having to call and figure out and if the package comes fedex or UPS to the post office to finish off the delivery, good luck finding it because the people behind the counter have no clue what they are doing. Packages get lost every time and its a pain to just figure it out. I get my packages late consistently and only after I have to yell at the manager to go search for them again. Wish you could pick which post office delivered you mail and packages unfortunately i have to deal with these people.
I will give negative 5 start if i could...THE WORST Experience i have EVER had . I came to process my passport renewal application . Walk-in service . I stayed in line for 30 minutes, after that a USPS employee came by and start checking all the applications from everyone in the passport line , to let us know if everything is correct, when my turn came she stated that everything is good, only signature is missing . I had 3 people in front of me, it took over 2 HOURS for my turn....when i was next , i went to speak to a manager on duty to find out what is taking so long, she smiled and said: oh, they are taking lunch brake. ( it was 1:30 pm and they close at 3pm). I can not describe all the frustration and helplessness of my situation ... I had no choice but wait ....After another 20 minutes passed by, someone finally took over and started serving passport line-there is only 1!!! window serving passports. I was called and after the teller saw my application, he said , well Im sorry you have been waiting, but i cant help you-this particular form needs to be mailed only, i do not process this. I had to leave .I almost cried. That lady, that was giving away false information , together with the supervisor who organize everyone should be fired! Complete mess, disorganization and unprofessional handling of business !!! If you cannot provide people with the service that you promoting, JUST SHUT DOWN then and someone else will take over!!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Terrible. Important checks and business documents simply lost, plus many misdeliveries. And forwarding of mail when I moved was a complete disaster, requiring new tenant to go out of his way to make arrangements for me to receive it. An operation like this wouldnt last 5 minutes in the private sector--and Im someone whom almost always supports government employees, in that they have a hard job with legal considerations inapplicable to private sector workers. And while the pensions are good, the pay is not competitive.
My package was supposed to be delivered to a 24 hours location yet they insisted the building was closed twice. Then on the tracking information updated it to delivered yet it was not delivered! Another persons package from the same warehouse arrived at the time I received my notification of delivery. very upsetting. I have called over 50 times since 10am as their hours are 9A-5P and no one has answered. I have tried to call them before and got hung up on (two weeks ago) three times. When I finally did get through (which is why I know this is a working number and theyre not answering) I spoke with two people. The manager or supervisor informed me to call back at 5:00P on Friday ....? How does that make any sense when they close at 5:00P. Now Im out of a package that was supposed to be a Christmas present. This is NOT acceptable in any way and the customer service is not even terrible, its NONEXISTENT. I know the US postal service does not carry themselves in this way. Its unacceptable.
I wish there’s a 0 star option. I made a scheduled pick up (costs$23 )the day before yesterday, and expecting the carrier to show up and pick up the mail on time (10:15/ April 13th ) and I tried to call them cuz no one actually showed up( 42 mins waiting on hold) In this case I had to go to this USPS to drop off in person, and the staff there told me that there’s nothing like schedule a pick up at a specific time. That’s ridiculous cuz as if no one check their website before. And I got a call from usps, I just wanna my refund back, and the staff who called me emphasize that I need to go online to get money back and she does not know where I should click. Oops! Such a genius of wasting others’ time!
Another reason why government fails at everything it does. Leave it to the private companies, they hire professional hard working people. Ive put in over a dozen complaints about my packages and letters not being delivered because the brain dead postal carrier either couldnt find the building, or is too lazy to get out of his truck. When I have to leave my office in the middle of a very busy day to retrieve my post, the clerks at the post office tell me they dont have it. I insist they do and that I go through this every time, after a few minutes arguing my package magically appears. The crazy thing is, the process happens a few times a month. You people are pathetic
Just moved our business to this area and first two orders shipped to us via USPS had issues: First package I got a notification from the seller of an issue with delivery; USPS tracking showed Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available), but we were there all day and so was our staff and there was no notice left. Called the 800 number on that Wednesday and they informed us the local office indicates the re-attempt will happen on Saturday. I explained we are business that operates Mon-Fri. I questioned why not deliver the next day? I was instructed to call the local office. NO ONE answers the phone, i tried for hours. I started trying different numbers based on the number i was given (i.e. increment or decrement the last four digits of the number) and finally got the voice mail of a supervisor, whos outgoing message indicates to call the main local office number if there are questions about delivery and/or urgent issues. I left my message with the supervisor and never got a call back. Fortunately, the package was arrived the next day.Second package; USPS tracking states Undeliverable as Addressed. Same vendor, same address, no difference. I called and called and called. No one picks up the phone. I left another message with supervisor. given my first experience and what people have written on this site, im not hopeful, which has given me cause to write this review in hopes others do the same to help bring attention to changes needed to better serve our community.I just dont understand how the local post offices provides the 800 number for customer service, but when you call the 800 number they tell you to call the local office. There needs to be better national oversight and better collaboration. That said, I believe this local office is not reflective of other local offices that are managed more efficiently.
They are VERY irresponsible at this post office, I always go directly to this post office to mail all of my bills as well as important documents and I’ve had 3 bad experiences with them, I give my mail to be sent out directly to whatever clerk I’m next in line for and 3 times I’ve had late payments on my bill because it never reaches the destination, and it cost me $45 to cancel the money orders to receive new ones, as well as the $105 in late fees for my bills. This is ridiculous so I will not utilize this post office EVER AGAIN and I would suggest to everyone I know NOT TO AS WELL. Unbelievable!!!!!!
My experience with this branch is that they are very poor about package delivery, WITH REGARD TO THE PARCEL POST DEPT. and that they dont honor what the shippers, or in this case, I, have paid for. No real priority is placed on getting a package to the recipient. Notices are not often left, 2nd and 3rd attempts may or may not be made, and they often cant easily locate the package (even with the tracking number provided)The facility itself is sort of in a time bubble, with no updated amenities, like a stamp dispenser and a self operated package collection machine. These types of services have been available at USPS branches for well over 15 years. The staff at this branch is minimal, and although they can be friendly, they seem to be completely aloof as to how poorly their facility measures up to the service of successful package delivery. It is an embarrassing (for them) and frustrating experience to deal with this every time I am sent a package. Its also a real waste of time, as I am constantly doing a lot of work to recover my packages. Apathy seems to be a virtue here.
Terrible service. This location was supposed to deliver a package to my address in Long Island City. They decided to forward my package to Brooklyn. I guess my package wanted to go the scenic route. They have lost two of my other packages 3 months ago. I wish I could give this location a 0 star.
Terrible customer service! Could not care less about the customer. The self service machine is broke but you wouldn’t know that because they don’t have a sign. Waited in line for 20 minutes and the lady said she couldn’t help me because I didn’t take the old labels off when all she has to do is print a new one and out it on over the label. “You have to take it off and create a new one at home. There’s no way it’s gonna happen” was here exact words.
I have a very challenging recurring need for extremely fast delivery of a payment to a NYC government office in this Post Offices delivery area that must be post marked on the first day of each quarter. Earlier post marks are not accepted and late deliveries are not accepted (government bureaucracy). Although I live in the Bronx, I make the trip to this Post Office to mail my letter because they have never failed me, as other branches have. The staff, particularly the lovely Asian lady who opens the lobby service windows in the AM could not be nicer.
This post office is my local branch for all my mail and packages. THE WORST! I supposed to receive a package today. I stayed home all day to receive it however, I had other prior engagments to attend. I goes to my mailbox located in my building to find the pink slip (SMH). The carrier did not knock on my door or ring my bell to give me my package. This carrier is the worst and laziest person Ive ever known. It had to be a different mailman because our usual daily person make sure we get our packages/mail. I called the post office and the phone rang for over five minutes. No one answered or answering machine didnt come on!
Faye was so helpful with renewing my passport and she had a lot of patience with me and very deligent with her job. I can tell from the customers ahead of me that she was very nice and efficient. I was shocked at how quick the process was for being a walk in I was expecting a crowd of people.
#Let me know if anyone want to join in a petition to report this LAZIEST post office.I wonder why there is no change when ALL the reviews are negative! Same with other neighbors, those dumbass employees NEVER even try to deliver our packages. ALL USPS packages are missing, not a single one delivered. It has been 2 weeks. They are simply lazy dumb!!!
I was given a direct phone number to contact a department with connection to the delivery staff because I received confirmation that my package was delivered but I never received it. They rarely answer the phone and if you get lucky and get someone on the phone, they just tell you to call back and give you a time to call an hour after the post office closes. These are the laziest, most inconsiderate people I have ever dealt with. I would rather enjoy a day of dealing with DMV employees than these people!
I went in there today and there was no one attending the windows, no matter how many times I called out or knocked on the door. All of them were in the back, one lady was sitting at a desk and when I knocked she wouldnt even look up. I left two other people in there wanting to mail packages, good luck to them. If I could give the post office zero stars I would.
I was sincerely hoping this post office wasnt like others I had been to. Alas, my experience turned out to be even worse. Even though the line wasnt long, it took ages to reach the window. As soon as I got to the window, the worker walked away! The workers at the window are not willing or seemingly incapable of doing a simple thing like following up and looking for a package. I had to call for and wait for supervisor to help me. Typical post office apathy.
Service is ridiculous bad. The passport line took 3 hours for 10 persons. The supervisor jeremy took 30min on purpose per person, he would only have people moving on the regular lane. After the 30 people on line, where yelling and complaining about jeremy s the supervisor attitude it got even worse. He would just smile, talk and take more time. Its obvious he hates his job, and does not want his office to take care of passport services. The line was full of parents with very young babies waiting and they still did not care. Not sure he should be doing customer service at all.
This is perhaps the worst service I have ever received in my life! We have waited two hours in line, with babies, elderly folks etc. Jeremy, the supervisor said “passports are not our priority “ it took 2 hours to attend to 7 people...this is simply a disaster! Either have another alternative to renew passport, or stop pretenting to provide this service. The rudness of the usps is like non other. Never will I do this here again. If you are reading this, find another alternativeP.S - Jeremy, the supervisor, should be FIRED!!!
3 hours for a passport! 3 hours with only 4 customers in fron of me... these people had no regard for customers time. They were unapoligetic. I cant even put into words how horrible the service was here, but will try.I also paid for expedited passport and the supposed manager refused to give me the tracking reciept. How am I to know they actually processed my paperwork.Terrible. I am filing a cusomer conplaint against this place.
Im running my business in LIC for 18 years, We are never closed on weekday at 5.39 PM. Post office did not try deliver my package. This situation repeated in the past. People in the post office simple doesnt do their jobs. They did not delivered again and lie about it :
The only reason why I will not give this office and their employees 0 is because of Antonia. That woman is the only one answering the phone, the only one actually listening.. Unfortunately I spoke to many of other from this office and I am not sure what would be the major skill they need to work on. service, communication, patience, listening ...
Why do they open so late and the people at the passport section don’t know what they are doing. Either they are asking their manager questions that even I know the answer to or they are failing to mention where documents need to be signed causing us to waste another day there and delay the passport by a week. Inform your employees on their job and get better hours people work opening at 10 is late
The worst location ever! If your regular postal delivery person is on vacation BEWARE!!! They have the worst fill-ins ever. I have had important mail stolen because of an incompetent fill-in delivery worker, who instead of delivering the mail to the correct buildings, just dumped all the mail in another building. And they wonder why USPS is failing...HERES YOUR ANSWER!!!
Even during off hours during the weekday, expect to spend a minimum of 40 minutes here to get anything done. Probably 1 or 2 windows of 10 total are staffed at any given time, and the staff is pretty unhelpful. Most workers are milling around in the back trying hard to ignore the long line of customers. They dont pick up the phone, ever, so dont bother trying to call. They also have lost international mail for me more than once.
This office is so disgraceful. From long lines for passports to phone calls where someone picks up the phone, I hear that person yelling at someone and they hang up on me and then I call right back 18 times and no one picks up. Tracking packages that go out for delivery and never make it out of the truck with the other mail only to go back to the post office where they show as arrived at Post Office UPS gets me the package in two days. 7 days with the USPS and waiting.
If I could give these guys a Zero star I would. BEWARE: there is a thief at this post office. 3 times they faked that the package was damaged and opened so that important medications could be stolen. What are the chances 3 consecutive packages are damaged and completely opened?? Please file complaints to the post office general. We need to shut this place completely down. Id rather travel to Manhattan to pick up my packages.
Awful delivery service. They keep delivering to our business after hours or weekends when we have told them numerous times we are CLOSED after 5:30 pm and CLOSED WEEKENDS!! Its not that difficult to comprehend. And once again, they stated they delivered a package to us but the package is GONE!! This post office is a JOKE and they never bother to even pick up the phone!!
I expected to have a MAJOR problem getting a tracked package found, but they actually surprised me. They did a FANTASTIC job making it work. The tracking showed it was delivered, but it was actually held at the post office because the receiver was getting 50 packages, so it was scanned in as received, but it really was held for a day, so it could be delivered with the other boxes the next day. Kudos to the LIC rep for figuring it all out.
Two lost packages in 2 months. Cant found them, made me to come back to the office 4 times to pick them up, but never found the packages. The most of the staff are very slow, lazy and helpless. Its always a long line. This post office and workers are such a shame to be in this beautiful building.
No,the phone number listed is not a prank. yes, someone will eventually pick up after 30 minutes and speak rudely to you before putting you on hold forever. the lady on the phone brings a four letter C word to mind. gave up after an hour because i actually dont have time for this. worst experience ever.
First a note: This is not the worst post office in NYC. The ones in Washington Heights and near Astoria Boulevard are far worse. Packages get delayed and lost frequently here, no notice is left, and the post office doesnt pick up the phone to address your issues. It leaves you feeling helpless! Who do you complain to about the post office? Should I call the President?
Honestly the worst experience. They never answer and by some miracle when they do they give you a bullshit response. Dont even bother. The workers are so lazy they dont even check to see where your package is. You shouldnt work at a post office if you cant even be bothered to look for a package.
It said my package was delivered and a notice was left, but I was home ALL DAY and NEVER heard the doorbell. ALSO THEY DIDNT BOTHER TO LEAVE THAT PINK SLIP OF PAPER, that says when the package will be delivered. Yes, I looked up my tracking online and it said its supposed to be delivered yesterday, but NO ONE came and the tracking was last updated 4 days ago... supposedly, its still IN TRANSIT. I called the number as well, the phone kept ringing but no one answered so i hung up. Called 3 mins later to see the line is disconnected.... GET YUR STUFF TOGETHER
They never ring the bell they come look thru the glass and mind you there is 2 door bells right next to them. they either leave or leave it in front. and then after 3 hours I get notification that says attempted delivery. I have them all on camera with time stamps. Just horrible service and a bunch of liars.
Horrible. I went to mail an important booklet and I had to fill out the packing slip and the pen on the desk didnt work so I asked two different tellers to borrow a pen and both of them said that they only had one pen and I couldnt borrow it. Apparently the post office needs to order some new working pens
LAZY , HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.Try calling and see how you are put on hold and they never pick up again. Then they keep hanging up. This is going on as I write this review Tuesday November 10,2020 at 11:50 AM.What a shame when people are unemplyed and these clowns do not appreciate there job. They should close this location.
When our regular mailman is away or ill they dont deliver to our building. Apparently Gin Lewis doesnt like coming to our building - too many companies to deliver the mail to. Gee - I thought that was your job Gin. I wish I had a job where I could pick and choose what I wanted to do each day...
What do you mean, no Post Office? Its one door west of the corner of Crescent Street/25th Street on the SOUTH SIDE of the bridge. In order words at the intersection of Queens Plaza South & Crescent Street/25th (same street, just 2 names for it). Right on the South West corner there, youll see some sort of law or accounting office (I forget right now). And immediately beside/to the West of it (the very next building) is the Post Office. So if you could somehow head South on Crescent, starting North of the bridge and cross under it (which you cant, because Crescent is the onramp to the lower roadway of the bridge), when you made it to the other side, you would still be Crescent st/25th st, and if you looked ahead and diagonally to your right, you would be looking at the corner I just described above. And the Post Office would be just one door to the RIGHT of that door, literally on the corner of the bloc. The Post Office entrance also has a very mild ramp from left to right that leads to a glass front door, with an all glass store front. I believe there are also 2 blue and/or green mailboxes out front, and possibly even a UPS or FedEx dropoff mailbox across the sidewalk, on the edge of the curb.HTH
They dont pick up the phone for hours! They dont deliver packages just because there was no Apt. # (deliver to the building and ask a doorman, duh!). They mark mail as delivered when its not! So far all of my familys worst post experiences come from this post office.
If you try to call this office you will 100% hear the phone ring so long it times out at least twice. If you do reach someone, they will transfer you to someone else who doesnt answer the phone. If you are put on hold, you will wait on hold until they hang up on you. Its a virtual guarantee. The only way you have a chance at speaking to someone is if you walk in.
While there are many good people who work at this office such as Faye & Shana, I do not understand how they can place a women who doesnt understand basic American English to deal with the public!!! Enough with political correctness!!! My grandfather was also an immigrant with limited English grammatical skills!!! In those days he would never have been placed by any governmental agency to deal with the general public!!!
Terrible! There are huge holes in the ground and tons of RATs running around this post office building. Ive been living many years in the building next to this post office and never seen this before. Im scared to walk there now. Several times a huge rat cross my way! 😩
Always a line and unfriendly staff. All I wanted was a final check on the weight of an envelope before mailing it and I had to wait in line over 20 min! Horrible.....set up self service kiosks or close this location. Only giving one star since that is the minimum to post the review....
THIS POST OFFICE IS FILLED WITH INCOMPETENCE. THEY WILL STATE DELIVERED WHEN IN FACT WAS NOT, WRITE THE BBB AND THEN USPS WILL CHANGE STATUS TO ATTEMPTED DELIVERY , NO ACCESS... LIES.. HOME IS A FAMILY HOME WiTH SIMPLE PUBLIC ACCESS..USPS IS ALSO KNOWN FOR THIEVERY...TO TONY BERNOULLI, I WOULD JOIN IN ON A PETITION
12/10 Id never recommend or come back here. Currently typing this up as theres a huge line. Ive been waiting for maybe 1.5 hours and the line barely has moved. Im in the same spot I have been. Theres like 8 windows in total and only 2 open them open for at least 40 people. Terrible.
Just make sure you bring your own pen, the window lady I was so unfortunate to get had three pens on her counter for me to see, but would not let me borrow one because to many People never returned them. And all the other counter people looked at me as though I asked for their first born when all I needed was a pen for idk maybe a min.
This P.O is such a sad place. So many windows not enough friendly tellers. No one to speak to on the phone so dont waste your time calling. Also the people delivering the mail seem to either be blind or just not care.Mail goes every where but your mailbox.Someone from 2 blocks away from where I live was nice enough to deliver a check for my son from school that was opened and in the street to my door. Also My sons passport was on the floor in the hallway.A neighbor handed it to me.Please someone help this place.NO ONE WORKING FOR THIS POSTOFFICE SEEMS TO CARE.
Home all day tracked package but still states its in post office and hasnt left from there yet got a orange slip that package was attempted to be delivered package not delivered person left a slip in the mail box and didnt ring bell or knock or anything this is unacceptable Ive been having problems with this post office for along time with all mail and packages

2022-03-16I do see a lot of negative comments here. However, I didnt have any bad experience with this postal service. Today was my 2nd visit at the place & I got out within 5 minutes without any problems. The representative was nice & professional. I wish them good luck.

2022-06-08Sadly not a great experience . The sales associate was impatient and not friendly. Her answers and response actually almost made me give up and skip sending the package . Probably I won’t got to this office again.

2022-06-04If you are lucky to get one of the few friendly, professional workers, it can be a pleasant experience. The key word is “lucky.”What should be a simple drop off of a prepaid package, Melissa gives me the run around why she can’t accept it in a condescending tone. I avoid this place and it’s negative energy and drop off packages at authorized shipment.

2022-04-19One of the worst experiences of my life. This is my first time going to this post office. When I arrived at 2:30 PM all the windows were busy. I came in to apply for a passport and waited in in line to speak to a staff member. I reached one of the windows at 2:37 PM because a lot of the staff were just walking around and not serving the costumers, there were very few windows open. When I told the lady that I was there for my appointment at 2:45 PM she said that I was late because I didnt go directly to the passport window. This is my first time going in this post office and there was a tiny sign that said passport window which was occupied when I came in. there was only one line and there were no other sign that said this way for passports. The lady just walked off and didnt serve me I waited in the passport window and nobody came. They were just waiting for time to pass so that they could say it was past 2:45 PM. USPS should hired professional people and not the inept staff that they have. They will speak to you as if you were garbage and ignore you even if you are speaking to them.

2022-06-15I have been dealing with this post office for 25yrs and over the years i have seen the quality of service decline dramatically and right now it is at its worst....Right now as i am typing this review i havent received my mail for the past 3weeks a case has been opened and when i call they dont even answer the phones they just cut it off from ringing and if you get them on the phone by sheer luck they are rude 90% of the time.Who is supervising this place, who is the manager there. 9 times out of ten if the manager is unprofessional the employees will be as well.

2022-03-19The staff Melissa who was working there on 3/19/2022 around 9:50am had an altitude and did not want to serve customers. I am not the only one who was refused to serve by her around that time. For me, she refused to take a drop off package when the self checkout machine was not working. She literally said “then it’s not working” and refuse to do anything. She even went to the only other staff working at the window at the time and made sure the other staff also would not take my package. She also told me that they never take drop off packages, which is not true. I have been going to this usps office for more than two years and every single staff except her takes drop off packages. She even cursed me and made disgusting facial expression that i can’t describe. This person is not worth having a job. If the manager sees this comment, I hope you take this seriously and fire this person. There are a lot of jobless people who need a job like this, not her.

2022-05-12Rude isnt even the word I would use to describe the service here. They give you a call to arrive 10 minutes early. It is a must. You agree because you think you can make it on time. But life gets in the way. On my way, there was a fire truck and an ambulance that caused traffic. My appointment was at 2:30. I made it to the office at 2:29. The person at the front window said I was late. I told her my appointment is at 2:30 she said that I had to arrive at 2:20, and that I missed my appointment. I reminded her that my appointment is at 2:30. She got another person who repeated the same information. I explained that there was traffic. She said I should have prepared for traffic. She then closed the windown on me and told her coworker to make me wait until 3. She didnt think I would hear but I did. I waited and then got told the line was 2 steps from where I was so I moved behide a couple that was getting their passport done. There is only one person for the passport. As I waited I overheard another couple having a problem. His wife had gotten to the location 10 minutes early just like they had said but he came later to meet her. He explained his situation and they told him no you two need to come here 10 minutes early together, one of you cant arrive early, it has to be both. Your appointment is canceled and you have to reschedule. They left clearly very upset. I waited as they kept taking care of the couple in front of me. The only person for the passports was told to take lunch. Leaving the couple waiting. After they finished. I waited to be called. It was 3:20 now, when they finally took notice, (the other two who told me I was late I assume left). This new person told me I couldnt wait inside and had to leave. I explained that I was here to submit a passport. She said we closed the passport applications at 2:45 I told her oh I wasnt told. I was just told to wait. If I had been told to make another appointment I would have. But I was told nothing but to wait. Thank you and have a great day. I could have been told to reschedule from the start but instead wasted my time.

2019-07-27It is the best customer service ever. When you apply for a passport on Saturdays, you need to go early even they say 10:00 am. At 9:30 am, there is a line but fast it may take 10-15 min it depends of the person who applies especially with kids takes a little longer. For people who didnt have a photo taken, they can do it in that location. The best thing to do is to fill out the application at home and bring all original documents needed. Easy for the worker to processes and for the person not waste time and come back again. The Long Island City is the only in Astoria for Passport.Take the G train to 21st Street Van-Alst Station.

2021-12-23The worst. Every single time they try to deliver a package I get a notification saying, Incomplete Address and then they return our packages back to the sender. The address is a large warehouse where we get dozens of packages delivered each and every day from various delivery services without any issues. UPS, FedEx, DHL, Ward, Duie Pyle, etc. never have a problem delivering to our address. Its only USPS that has a problem. Any time something is being delivered via USPS, and it passes through this facility, it gets returned to the sender and delays everything. We honestly dont even think they make an attempt to deliver to our neighborhood. And god forbid you try to call them to see what the Incomplete Address issue is so we can fix it. They put you on hold and never come back, ignore you, pass the call around to a bunch of different people, or just plain hang up on you.
