United States Postal Service in other cities:
The man at the counter was extremely rude to two customers while i was there... they were both women and hijabis and he was straight up yelling at them. When one of them decided to leave he watched her with a confused expression as if she was being rude for leaving. Neither of them showed any kind of disrespect toward him at all, not in their tone of voice nor in their body language. He disrespected them both by yelling in their face because apparently he couldnt understand them. There are better ways to do things... usps please get this location checked out because the staff you have now are not doing the community a service.
Worse customer service ever and extremely rude. Someone needs to teach these two women employees(dark skin) how to behave with customers. They work in the morning shift and always talking on phone than taking customers. If this a service we receive from the so called public servent then we dont wanna see those women in the first place periodd!!!
Someone has to do something about this workers at this location. Theres 2 women employees that have a disgusting attitude and not customer service skills whatsoever. This employees usually are on the mornings. Is so sad that a such convenient location have this type of people working there.
Never have I been mortified and extremely disrespected by the Women behind the counter who offered no help or assistance when asking a couple of questions regarding on how to ship an item and snapped back at me when my frustration was cleared. She must of been high because her eyes were completely blazed, I didnt get her name and she was wearing glasses. I went here because it was convenient and on the way to my job. Ill make the additional effort to go elsewhere just to avoid this place. It makes sense why this place has so many negative reviews and wish I took the time and effort to review it before coming in.
Worst customer service in whole New York City! The elderly lady with short haired made us feel like illiterate and doesn’t have any customer service skills. This is my second time visit and she was same like before. Didn’t get to eat breakfast but was full with her talks and rudeness. The lady next to her was speaking politely and calmly. Wish she could learn something from her co-workers.
The worts experience ever! This lady wasnt willing to help me and my friend when we were tring to send a mail. Her attitude was unproffesional and just plain out rude. Never will be coming back here. I would rather go to a further post office than come back here ever again.
Extremely slow. They take their sweet time doing basic tasks. Also, I hate to say this but there is this ONE lady working there, who is exceptionally rude. She obviously hates her job. She likes to talk down and belittle customers and to make matters worse, she throws your change and/or stamps at you. How about a thank you or have a nice day??? I try to avoid her and hope to deal with the other employees.
Would give 0 stars if I could, relied on this USPS to ship out our amazon orders and none of them have went through. we used another USPS and the customer received their package on time. never use this USPS, theyll claim theirs been a system malfunction for their absolute lack of work.
Recently , this new postmaster manager, has major nasty attitude towards me & customers with a chip on his shoulders, he doesn’t know how talk with customers to solve situation.Very Rude, and very arrogant.I have been a long time customer at this post office. Not happy & I will advoid him if I see him .A while back Mailed a ck payment for box it was losted in transitI told him about the ck what did he do he closed my PO Box for non-payment & said to me I should have paid on line with a smart ass attitude like it was my fault ! Instead of investigating the situation! Later they returned number of lost checks they found .But they changed my key to my Box . Missed Linda & Angie who use to work at this location.I have been doing business with this post office for over 30 years. Never have I been talk down , to like I am some type of idiot. This is the worst manager or postal worker ever at this branch . He needs customers service training, to treat customers with kindness & respect .Just recently I went to mailed a package to Idaho, they want $50 to mailed 4lb package instead of saying to me why don’t you mailed the box ground it cheaper thanks to the experienced Asian employee who suggested that . What did the manager said to me was u don’t like the price u can go to Fedex !!!Wow ! Such nastiness towards a customers. If he talk to me like that ! U could imagine how he treats other customers or even his employees who work under him .
As many have expressed, the customer service here is absolutely terrible, and the attitudes of the people working here are worse than at the DMV. Theyre lucky people unfortunately rely on their services --thats what keeps this place open. Avoid this location at all costs.
The Big white lady there is very mean an have a short patience span. when your dealing with a diverse community you have to have patience and be willing to communicate effectively. Unfortunately she should work in the back end of the post office an let someone else do the front end. This area is very busy at times an if you cannot be helpful an work in a timely manner then you need to work somewhere else in the post office.
This post office doesnt deserve such a low rating (1.4 at the time of my review). Ive visited this office probably hundreds of times over the years -- mostly to drop off eBay packages -- and Ive never really run into any problems that would warrant a 1-star review. Treat the multi-lingual postal workers with respect, follow directions, and you wont have a problem. My only gripe about this PO is that sometimes the door for package drop-off is randomly locked so you instead have to wait in line for up to 20 minutes. Also, during the holidays, the drop-off door is almost always locked because of cheapskates blatantly lying about their gift packages weights trying to get away with underpaying for postage.
I avoid this place at all costs but unfortunately my packages are often delivered through here. They don’t even attempt to actually deliver a package. According to the time of attempted delivery, I am often home, but they make no attempt whatsoever to actually deliver the package. I doubt they even have it with them. Even more upsetting, they never ever leave a slip. The only way I know my package is at the post office is because I diligently track them. When I do go to the post office, I’m waiting for at least 30 minutes. Today it was about 45. I was so frustrated I wanted to cry. No one is willing to help, all the staff are very rude. They just don’t care. It will never change and there’s nothing we can do. But ranting helps a teensy bit.
You know, its not their fault that a deliveryman leaves a pink notice instead of doing their job, its not their fault if service is delayed, theyre not in control of actual trucks or the weather. What is their fault is this offices ridiculous staff. The office is dirty and the staff are just above incompetent, they are consistently rude to any customer that walks in regardless of what he or she wants to ship it pick up. Expect condescending looks and audible groans from at least half the staff, getting anything done means waiting in a thirty minute line, so to my fellow patrons, good luck.
The lady is really horrible I dont even want to curse. One time I was shipping to another state which my items is kind of heavy but didnt pass over the limit she was complaining and keep talking that she cant even pick that up. At first she was charge me at the regular shipping fee rather than the priority price. At the priority mail box it clearly says that maximum weight is 70lbs for domestic and my things is 30lbs she is complaining. What a stupid lady. Really hate this post office. Bad customer service!
I was going to rate higher (4) but the woman working there just now pissed me off with lack of professionalism. No smile on her face, not helpful whatsoever. I told her I needed my envelopes and certified and she only marked it as priority and I told her I needed it certified then she just looks at me with a blank look on her face saying I need to fill something out and shouldnt even bother to tell me where the form was her which formed even though I knew what it was. NO HELP. No thanksThe guy that was working on the floor was extremely helpful to everyone and very friendly excellent customer service by him
The wait time can be very long on some days.Depending on who serves you at the window, you will either have a good experience, or a horrible experience.Recently, I had to ship a laptop to a friend. Already sealed up the box and only need to ship it. In the past in another post office, they usually give me a big sticker to write the address on, so I waited for the window and was expecting to get the sticker. The asian lady that served me was very rude. She saw theres no address on the box, then started saying how do you ship this with no address on it?...yes there is a pen right there, use to write the address on the box, and so on. While I turned my back and started to walk to the pen feeling like an idiot, she kept saying a bunch of sentences, none of which were audible to me at this point. I observed her interaction with the next person, who was asking about some package he sent earlier in the day, and she was berating him about how do I know which label it is?... there are so many labels that come through here everyday...On the other hand, there is a black lady that is very experienced with post office operations (I sent stuff at her window a few times in the past). I dont know her name, but the receipt says shes clerk #36. It was a relief to get to her window after queuing up again. She took the box, verified my address, helped me figure out the shipping options. The best part about her is that she added tape to the box to make sure it was sealed. In the past she fixed the smudgy ink on my envelope by putting a clear piece of tape over it. Basically, good customer service (no attitude), and pays attention to detail. So, this is why this place gets 3 stars. It gets crowded at times so take off at least 1 star for that, but its the post office so nothing surprising here. Take off 1 star for the rude employees who yell at people. Three stars for the sometimes nice clerk that helps you out.
Actually no star I would give to this post office .. customer service is zero and the Asian aged lady is very rude In talking . She has full of attitude with in herself . When asked questions she’s hardly giving answers acting like pearls coming out of her mouth if she speaks . No communication skills . Around 1.30 pm I was there and waited till 2.15 just to mail the letter .there was only 2 stafff at the counter at the peak hour ! Seriously ,usps higher department needs to do something and take consider to this mattter . We are local citizens here and doesn’t like to b treated like that . Usually I don’t review any bad but this one couldn’t take it . I have to because happened many times .
I feel bad for any poor souls that steps in to collect their missed packages. My postman NEVER rings my bell and drops those god forsaken orange slips. The worse part is they mess with you on where you packages actually is. I went to 2 different addresses, and was finally directed to this one, and this is the worst out of he bunch!3 people ahead of me was there to pick up but never got their packages. Each time you can hear the excuses repeat, this awfully rude chinese staff will just pretend to walk to the back and then come back with some stupid reason that your package is somewhere else, or you cant pick it up because your full name doesnt match the packages addressee. And when it came my turn, she used the same exact reason, but I made sure she walked again to check. She finally threaten to call the cops on me before I decided to give up. At this point, its BEYOND my worth to even bother with the package.Never walking back in here ever again! And Im writing a complain about her. I really wish that lady loses her job. Literally the most miserable place on earth!
This usps office has all employees only to take the salary. They dont want to work. The manager says if he will carry your parcel and put it on the weighting machine his health will affect. So he cant do that for you, he was shouting at me only because i said i want to check how much will be the price for my parcel he said i will not coz i will do what i want im the boss!! Hez a stupid guy never go back there.
Better than others in the neighborhood. Saying that, this place moves slow. They sometimes try to move the line by having someone come out and have certain transactions moved faster like pickups. I have to make note that Ive been coming here over 15 years and I cannot stress enough how much one agent, Angela, does her work professionally and efficiently. She is kind and very friendly. I really hope someone notice this and appreciate her doing her job here. Angela and Linda are always a pleasure to work with.
The rudeness or dirtyness of the post office is not the big problem. the problem i have with them for years now is that they never deliver any packages that i get. whenever i order online anything i never get the pink slip card to go pick it up, and i have to guess when my item should arrive then look online at the place i bought for a tracking number so i can go and ask where is my package. i complained to the main office and to them and they dont care. i never got a followup after many times which this happened to me. and it keeps on happening every time.its the worst post office i have ever seen.
The guy staff is very rude, I just ask for a receipt and he told me i dont need a receipt. What a stupid reason. He said I wasting his line because i want a receipt for the drop off. He told me I got a discount already he cant give me a receipt and then i ask him that do you mean i need to pay for a receipt? I ask him to give me back my package and i told him to do his job please.
There is the thing, what the F those people working? The customer has the question to ask them they just like a jerk to say something with out your topic? I mean why The United States Postal Office will find some people like those guys, I have no way to be toxic to flaming them, that’s the true for the god damn store, maybe my English is not good, so please, don’t ever ever ever go to their store.
Its usually a hit-or-miss with the workers here. One is really nice (I think she was known as Clerk #36 in another review), while the other comes off as kinda hostile. I usually have a high tolerance for peoples attitudes, so Im giving her the benefit of the doubt. She does have a bias towards people who speak Cantonese, as she treated the person in front of me more respectfully/amicably after finding that he spoke it. My family also speaks Cantonese, so I can understand what shes saying, but because English is my better language, I was treated a little more harshly. Language barrier isnt a valid excuse when you work in an extremely diverse area, and its common courtesy to treat people with kindness, especially when they arent even being mean to you.
I just recently moved in the neighborhood and first time I went was because I had lost my package and no one knew where to find it even though I had tracking number and there was this nasty white lady that works there with a very disgusting attitude as the other two reviews state!!! BUT I have 3 stars because the second time I went a Chinese lady helped me and her service was okay, not the best but okay. They need to hire people who actually want to work not people who are going to get attitudes with their customers.
No stars would be more suitable for this disaster of a public service facility. Get your money orders elsewhere (free money orders at PLS - 77th Street). This branch gives the postal service an even worse reputation. I would rather than the 10 minute walk to the Jackson Heights branch instead of waiting for 10 minutes for clerks like Clerk#22. How does someone have such a negative attitude. So rude to everyone that people starting making a second line to wait for another clerk.
If I could rate this place a NEGATIVE 1 MILLION STARS, I would. Dear USPS, how dare you allow such insolent, rude, lazy, disrespectful, demeaning, sanctimonious, incompetent, lethargic, malicious human beings to represent a Government Agency, which my tax dollars are funding!! My experience here has always been difficult to the point that I have to brace myself before entering, knowing I will be castigated somehow for simply having a physical presence in the premises. The short LADY FROM THE ISLANDS ( perhaps Jamaica?) is beyond nasty. She wouldn’t give me her name or ID and she had no ID displayed on her uniform. She practically bit my head off, when I asked a question. My first question was answered incompletely and then I was reprimanded for politely asking for clarification. I had a follow up second question, and she said to me, “you again?, what do you want now?!” Then she pointed to a table for me to Self service, which was impossible because the forms are haphazardly arranged so that it is practically impossible to find anything. The workers behind the plexiglass are extremely rude and lazy too. They all act like they are doing you a favor regarding whatever service you need. The line moves at a snail’s pace. There are many people who would give anything to have gainful employment with benefits and a pension. But somehow these particular US postal workers on Broadway in Elmhurst 11373, don’t seem to feel that way. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day the newspaper headline read “disgruntled Elmhurst Postal Worker goes on killing spree”. That’s how miserable and nasty these people are, most especially the short lady from the Islands who happened to work the floor that day. People of Elmhurst Queens are decent, respectful and hard working. They don’t deserve a branch like this. This is a branch that belongs in Hell. No one should be subjected to the abuse that runs rampant here non stop, from 9-5.
Very very poor customer service. The employee who is supposed to give the undelivered packages he just don’t have the basics of how to talk and behave politely. Got upset with the rude behavior of this guy. I urge USPS senior officials to terminate this guy from his services ASAP.
I can not begin to explain my disdain for the USPS here in NYC. This is the third post office I have changed to within 4 months and I still have issues with every piece of mail that comes through. When I say all mail, I mean literally every piece of mail from letters to boxes and crates. Not to mention the seemingly endless span of a language barrier between customers and the employees. Its like the employees there either do not speak English at all or take cruel pleasure in feigning the complete lack of understanding with customers. This post office shares a similar flaw from my previous one, the un-imaginably extreme caliber of negligence and ignorance in maintaining proper P.O. Box management. Not only do I continue to receive other individuals mail in my P.O. Box, but it seems near impossible to actually receive my own. This means I basically paid $50 to receive Ms. Diana Verges and whomever elses mail I have begun to ignore and simply return to the post office. Avoid this and any USPS office if you live in Queens, NY. Its better to save yourself both time and hassle by utilizing other businesses (like UPS, FedEx, etc..) and setting up a pick up at one of their local stores. I cant tell you how many of my priority, insured mail has been misplaced or outright lost. Avoid the hell mouth on (USPS) earth and bring your business to any place else.Sincerely,An extremely unsatisfied and suffering customer
There is one white lady in this post office. I think whoever went to this post office, they might know her. Today she denied to take me because I approached her before she called me. She looked at me thats why I went to her.yes maybe I was too hurry but there was no reason she got mad and talked to me that way.Every time I visited there she was yelling to someone. I wonder there is no manager in this postoffice ?
So so so disrespectful.I wonder why they hired the workers like them. They dont possess any costumer service skills and know nothing. All they know is hey miss/sir we dont know anything about it. Last when I went there the workers were arguing about the ace.One worker was saying Im allergic to air and other was saying its too hot. They give no damn about the costumer waiting

2019-04-12This post office is so convenient but I always avoid unless I have no choice but to pickup a package from there. The workers are beyond rude, miserable and slow. No common courtesy for customers.

2021-06-29I was there today. Nothing like previous visits. Everyone seemed to be on their best behavior. Polite, almost. Ive lived in the area for 30 years. It was a refreshing experience. It might have been because a well dressed man who seemed like a manager was present in the background getting things done. Hopefully this continues!

2021-06-29Jun 29, 2021 at 2:10pm I went to this location to send an important document. But the man at time, is very rude, very low customer service. He got angry! Because I requested from him to put a little bit tape after I reopened the envelope to make sure my mail was right. He said; he is so smart that doesn’t make mistake. So why is is he working there? He could be doing something else more complicated . But this location needs to call their atention. And train them to be more educated. I hope he doesn’t loose my mail.

2017-04-30They have been stealing our packages for two years. I saw it on WABC Eyewitness News last night at 11:03 PM. We used to complaint a lot about this, but we did not know they will go this far, judging by the defensive and aggressive way they deal with clients we should have known better. Each time they claim they came and we were not home, it was a lie. The police arrested the criminal, but I am concerned about the rest of the team/criminals who still works there and were his accomplice, and were not arrested for lack of evidence. Your experience in that place will be bad, they wont steal your packages for now I guess, they will wait a while until they start stealing again. If you want a safe job were you can get away with everything, you should apply there, or run for state senator.
