Package has been stuck here for 11 days. We paid for express shipping from the UK. Reading all these reviews…I’m worried. Why hasn’t USPS done anything about this office??????? We will be contacting higher up to look into this place if our package doesn’t arrive in the next few days.
This place definitely must be inspected by the authorities! I thought it was only me but there are tons of people who mail disappear in this facility. It cant help but make us think that it has been STOLEN!! My package has been there for almost 5 months!! This is totally unacceptable!!
Your packages arent lost, they are being STOLEN. Last year I purchased a piece of jewelry from UK, package had no further tracking after NY. The seller had 4 packages go missing from this facility in a matter of a week or two. She switched to FedEx. Now Im waiting for another package stuck here, well see what happens, if I dont get this package Im putting my sister as the recipient in another state altogether. Maybe theyll be a bit more honest.
My priority express package is sitting at the International Distribution Center for 1 month now! I have called numerous times, sent a half dozen emails, finally get someone on the phone (not at this location) and I was told there is nothing they can do. I asked if they can connect me to a manager and they said this post office doesn’t take calls. This is the worst experience ever. How can this go on in the year 2021 with all the technology we have?! Amazon can deliver an item in a day but the USPS can’t even move a package since June 19th!
Asked the post man if he had a package that I got message was out for delivery. Said no, walked on. Got notification hours later that there was no safe location to leave package and a notice was left - a lie. So rescheduled delivery. Re-delivery date is here and nothing. Post man left with no package. There is no way to contact this post office. It should be shut down. Let another location handle mail.
On November 16th I paid over $60 for 2 CHRISTMAS sweaters to send to my niece and nephew in Europe. I figured the package had plenty of time to get there in time for Christmas. Its been almost a month and its still stuck in this Jamaica center and nobody can nor wants to help me. Thanks a lot USPS
Please don’t go inside this place unless u have no choice — I don’t know why these people are so rude from passport service to window — may they get paid less than food stamps monthly or just uneducated don’t know how to talk to people— if u are in customer service job u should know how to talk to elderly person or whoever come to you at window — by screaming on different communities people doesn’t mean they will understand you — use a translator or someone else who can talk — please don’t treat people like that
The USPS service in Jamaica New YorkCustoms office has bad slow service and no progress updates! My stuff has sat there for over 2 weeks with no progress, movement or updates. I paid a really high price for better service, and it was only for a small envelope, going to Canada. Terrible service 😑 I Dont recommend usps. Ship using a more reliable service.
Something is really broken with this Post Office!! April 10 2021... I ordered several important and valuable items from different sources. My UK item arrived in California in 5 days... items from Florida, Texas, Hawaii and Canada in 2-4 days.2 packages went through this post office in Queens/Jamaica NY... and have been at that location for 3 weeks. All attempts to contact are fruitless.
If I could give 0 stars I wouldAbsolutely the worst Distribution center on the planet, everyone working here should be sent to training, or better yet fired.My package was sent there on October 2nd, and its currently December 13th still waiting.Unfortunately I dont think Ill ever see this package come, hopefully someday.Update*** I ended up getting my package in April !! Every single time something gets brought or delivered here it is “lost.” If you don’t have insurance that don’t refund you. I’m tired of my packages getting stolen in this post office. It’s giving ratchet and unprofessional. I’m reporting you to the USPS whoever ! Idc! You’re getting reported
I sent a priority premium letter to my brother from Madrid, Spain to Michigan. All perfect here in Madrid. However, it has been stuck in JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER since July 9th. It indicates: July 9, 2021, 5:32 amDeparted USPS Regional FacilityJAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTERYour item departed our USPS facility in JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER on July 9, 2021 at 5:32 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.This was the last scan of the envelope. I have called several times and received an email indicating that they dont have any updates on this envelope. My questions is how can a scanned item just disappear? Someone is doing their jobs or they are stealing the mail. Can someone please assist me?
Many people have posted about delays in delivery from this location, and I experienced the same. I finally did receive my package, so I wanted to post a review so others can know that your package will eventually arrive.My aunt sent a package from Canada and the tracking ended at this facility on November 20th. With zero updates to the tracking, I finally received my package on December 16th. Almost a month later. So I know it’s annoying, but be patient, your package will arrive.
I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews. I’ve been shipping a lot with eBay and all my packages have been delivered to the buyer safe and sound. Though there may or may not be a line (dependent on when you go) for shipping packages this place is just fine.
I have plenty of years of bad experience with the parcel pick up windows and the 1.5 star rating on google is pretty accurate. However, I am giving 5 stars for Passport Service as it was a breeze getting my daughter’s passport renewed. Just make sure you have all your documents in order.We arrived at the post office on a Wednesday morning, 5 minutes before the line opened at 9 am and there were 5 people ahead of us. It takes about 10-15 minutes per case, mostly because people are missing documents, or have not filled out the application.I filled my application online and printed it out. We thought we’d have pictures taken at the post office as it is listed online, but they do not offer that service. Luckily, there is a place that takes passport photos directly across the street. It took 10 minutes to get the pictures and go back - my husband held our place in line.The entire wait took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. We were out of there by 10:15. The window clerk was very nice, humorous and a pleasure to deal with.
Made an appointment for passport on a sunday, received confirmation of appointment and was asked to be there 10 minutes early. The place was closed when we went there! We stayed for over an hour! Its disappointing since we made the appointment on the usps website, terrible experience!
I send checks to vendors across the country every month. A couple of months ago, our vendors started to complain they weren’t receiving checks. Then the replacement checks weren’t being received. So we started to send letters with tracking numbers. Guess where all our letters are disappearing to? Freaking Jamaica distribution center. Get it together New York, every other post office but yours is doing it’s job.
I have soooo many packages for my very small (one person) online business that keep getting stuck at this specific post office for months at a time... But one package in particular - which was supposed to arrive [in Alabama] over a week ago - that has just vanished... Which contains EVERY SINGLE one of my childs Christmas presents.Ive been trying to get ahold of someone via USPS customer support but keep getting transfered to my local post office, who assure me that theyre doing everything they can, blame the pandemic, then close the case (Im sure they never even bother calling)... So tomorrow Ill be calling the Jamaica NY International Distribution Center directly - repeatedly if I have to.I understand that the pandemic has caused major problems all over the world but having packages get lost and/or delayed for months only seems to be an issue with this specific post office. Im fed up with greedy, cheap management who dont want to hire extra staff during a world-wide crisis (or in general). I know there are plenty of people who want/need a job - especially in an over-populated city like New York. But USPS as a whole really needs to step it up... I shouldnt be getting packages MONTHS later than when Im told. I shouldnt be seeing that my package will arrive one day, and then have that changed the DAY its supposed to be delivered - when the package is still over a hundred miles away. Im pretty sure thats something that should be adjusted several days prior.Please hire some more staff. Youre a MAJOR international facility so Im pretty sure you need more than one or two employees distributing packages and helping customers. Ive never seen a 1.6 star rating (out of over 300 people) in my life - not exaggerating; I didnt think that was even possible.This is obviously a common issue with this post office. I just wish Id realized it sooner.
Do not sent anything through USPS!!!! I sent a document Oct. 30 and its been sitting here since nov. 5!!!! Called about 15 times absolutely nobody answers the phone. The recipient needs this document now!! Thats why I played about $20 to send!!!! I should have used UPSUpdateDocument got to its destination. Theyre just slow
This place is the absolute worst.Please do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.Ive gotten to the point of having my packages delivered to another address just to avoid dealing with this post office. They consistently fail to deliver packages and lie about leaving notices. On several occasions, theyve claimed that there was no one available to receive a package despite that being untrue. Ive even had to go to the post office on one occasion to pick something up after being notified online that it would be available for pick up at that post office on the day that I went, just to be told that the package was out for delivery.It was an absolute waste of time.Of course, were all human and mistakes happen; I can understand a driver forgetting to leave a slip once or twice, but this happens every single time. I have never received a notice which leads me to believe that there arent actually any attempts being made to deliver my packages.USPS offices in general have low-grade customer service, unfortunately. But this is. by far, the worst I have ever experienced.They really do make it very difficult to look forward to receiving a package in a timely manner.To make matters worse, service on site is VERY slow. There appears to be a huge lack of organization. Thats incredibly inconvenient considering the fact that this post office is located in a very busy area and parking is usually very difficult.Calling doesnt make a difference either because Ive been on hold for almost an hour now to find out the status of yet another package that could not be delivered because there was not a secure location. That statement continuously baffles me since theyve carelessly left larger packages on my doorstep but appear to be uncomfortable with leaving a small box.Youd think after receiving only 1.5 stars from almost 200 reviews that theyd make some amount of effort be better, but clearly not.
Mailed something out to travel internationally before Thanksgiving 2020. Its been sitting in the Distribution center since Nov 28 2020. Todays date is Dec 27 and it hasnt moved for over a month. Nobody answers when you call, there is no answer on when a package that was shipped well before Christmas, Black Friday, or Cyber Monday will even depart their facility.
I thought it was just me, but now I see that this location is a major roadblock. I had some special ordered highly protective Covid Masks that I rushed shipped internationally to take to my fiancée and her family in Brazil. I leave tomorrow and the package has sat with no movement in Jamaica New York post office for a week.. The thing is, when packages arrive in ISC New York and they clear customs they avoid Jamaica New York and go straight to the state distribution center, randomly. My question is, why do they send them there since they seem to have such a terrible velocity problem with processing? I called customer service and the person flat out lied and said it was the weather and Covid. I see that the winter weather delays is not true as these reviews pre date the bad weather conditions.
At this point, can you guys just throw my package over the Canadian boarder? Canada post will be happy to grab it and get it to me in a timely matter. 1 week at a facility? You guys need to get your act together. Will not be recommending USPS to anyone and I will specifically be asking for squishmallow trades to be sent UPS in the future. Didnt think Id have to do that. Ffs Im crying to think what my Avery the ducks condition will be.
Okay, so originally I rated this 1 star because I thought my package was lost forever. FIY, to anyone delivering internationally and using 1st class shipping, dont trust your tracking service. Once it gets to this location.. its basically the end of what they can update you with. So chances are if it says its been there for 20+ days or something.. within that times its already been delivered and is just waiting in customs. So communicate with whoever you are sending your package to, maybe give them your tracking info, but I promise it will eventually get to them! I sent my out on the 13th of Sep. and it got to their house today!
I have a package that has been sitting at this post office for almost a month now. I submitted a find my package with no result. I have my local post office trying to get an answer from them, and they are having no luck either. And I cant put in a claim because its still being processed. After reading others comments, Im not optimistic about getting my package. I guess the thieving goes all the way to management seeing as its allowed to go on so rampantly. Update: Never received my package and was told by the USPS they couldnt process my claim because it was shipped more than 30 days ago.
UPDATE 12/28/2016-I have requested my packages to be picked up THREE times because each time no one showed up to pick them up. Yet USPS has been emailing me that it was successfully completed. Again today, for the third time since for the last 5 days scheduled pick up, no one came to get them. This post office has HORRIBLE service and running on tax payers money. Needs to shut down or something needs to change ASAP because this has literally been going on for too many years. I will continue to complain until something is done about the service of this post office.I have moved to my current address 2 years ago and lost 5 packages (each over $100 worth) because of this post office. The fact that they have not changed anything despite of so many people having similar issues is despicable. One of my lost packages were over $200 and the merchant would not refund my $ because post office says it was delivered. I refused to pay and now my credit score went down all because of the incompetent people working at this post office. I would sue this place if I could.
I have sent my parcel from VA to Kazakhstan 08/12/2020. Today is 10/09/2020... my package is still in Jamaica distribution center, NY. I have already made claims to find any ANSWERS what’s going on, I called several times but NOTHING? How can I find the reason why my packet still need bee there? ????
I would give them ZERO STARS, if I could. We have an international business, and ship packages all over the world. However, it is ONLY when we have a package that goes through the Jamaica NY distribution facility, that we have packages that have been sliced open, and the contents STOLEN!! We’ve NEVER had a problem with any other distribution facility anywhere else in the country, ONLY HERE!! Now, we will be taking our, $25K worth of shipping, international packages to FedEx, UPS, and DHL from now on, so we don’t have to jump through all of their hoops, when we have to file an insurance claim, because of THIER THIEVES! If you have valuables, DO NOT ship it where it has to go through this facility, or be prepared to have it STOLEN!
Second month in a row my EXPRESS OVERNIGHT (that’s a joke) mail has been MIA @ Jamaica International Distribution Center. What the AF is the problem there??? It’s the third time this year they failed to deliver ‘overnight’ in spite of charging over $26 a pop. DIGUSTED IN NYC!!!!!!
I would give 0 stars if I could because 1 is to generous, they constantly lie about attempting to deliver packages, never pick up the phone, never update your packages whereabouts and if they do its when theyre near closing, short staffed, staff incredibly rude and lazy and dont deserve a job with this responsibility. Either they should fire this staff and get better employees or they should just close the doors for good.
The building is the only thing nice about this place. I recently went to get the keys to a PO box that I purchased online. After waiting in line I went to the agent behind the glass and explained what I was there for. She asked me for my printed out application, that I did not have. When I advised her that I did not have that, but had my conformation number. Her immediate response was that there was nothing that she could do for me. I was shocked, as I had traveled a long way to get to the post office. I then asked her if it was possible for her to give me an application, thinking how do they handle this when customers just walk in?? Reluctantly, she reached over and pulled out an application, and THREW it through the slot!!! So now I am trying VERY hard to stay calm! I dont know if I was more upset that you threw the form at me or the fact that you never made the suggestion to give me the application from the beginning.After stepping to the side and filling out the application, I get back in line to hand in my application. Now admittedly, I was missing a physical copy of one of the items that could be used as proof of address. I did not have a copy of my insurance, mortgage, or a bill. So after waiting in line I returned to the counter, this time getting another agent. Never would I think that this poor customer service would be displayed twice in a row. But boy was I wrong. Not only was this agent rude, but the first agent was leaning over to her counter making sure they were on the same script. By this time my husband was literally rubbing my back in an attempt to keep me from loosing it.After asking 1,000 questions to figure out what I could do, another agent that was not involved suggested I go to the library right around the corner to get print outs of the needed documents. During my conversation with the other two agents I asked if I could show them electronic proof.To end, I was able to get the print outs from the library and able to get my PO box that I paid for. I will not, however, be renewing my PO box after the end of this term.Worst service!!!
Ive had packages go through there this year and most of them tracking says they have been delivered to me but they have never shown up. I have never had packages go through this place ever before but suddenly it seems that everything is coming from there.. What gives?
Someone tell me why is it that Im home ALL DAY waiting for packages to be delivered and yet Im continuously getting emails saying they couldnt deliver, and that a notice was left? NO NOTICE! Id been VERY sick for over 6 years and this WAS and STILL is a big problem. Idsetup Redelivery and still didnt get my packages. Recently my packages were BEING HELD at the Post Office for OVER 2 MONTHS and sent back to sender, also a couple of weeks ago a package had been cut with a razor blade, and a return label mailed to me was ripped in half and stuffed into a Post Office white envelope! (I have pics) I know who is behind it!👁 👀...THE WORST P. OFFICE SERVICE EVER!
5 stars for the lady that helped me with my package but other then that, they need more people to work there and more efficient service, Worst delivery ever, never got my package delivered, rescheduled a delivery and it still wasn’t delivered, came to the post office they didn’t know where my package was smh it’s been 10 days since it was suppose to be delivered
This place doesnt deserve 1 star. I ordered my item May 13,2021. It is now June 19,2021.This was supposed to be a fathers day gift and yet still no tracking info, I know for sure now I will make sure anything I order doesnt go in this direction to be delivered. Terrible Terrible service
I went to this post office adding new address to the delivery system. I went there five times trying to talk to someone. Finally a supervisor named Mrs. Parker helped me. She was the only one who knew how to do it. Other supervisors have no knowledge of it. They did not care. And terrible customer service. The whole system is not working efficiently. I need to say thanks to this lovely lady. And thanks Danzo Richard. He helped me making some powerful calls.
My mailman who delivers my mail recently really doesnt deliver my mails but other people from around me since November this has been a regular thing. He also delivers my mail to who knows but me, also states handed to but just drops it on the front of the door, Ive had a few packages from Amazon that I had to call Amazon to send back to them because it wasnt mines. Its impossible to get someone on the phone even the main 800 # you have to jump through loops and still dont get anyone to resolve the issue. I may have to move just to get another mail person ...lol.
Always missing packages!!! I was home all day waiting for my package and when I tracked it, it says it was already delivered. This is not the first time it happened. They should have a background check and investigate their employees properly. Tried to call the office but its either busy or no one will answer the call. Very poor service.
Sadly Post office should be Sold to private sector or Run by public instead of government agencies3rd time we losing the package my package coming from nyc to upstate NY my mother in law sent next day shipping 100$ plus dollar is been 5 days still in Jamaica center and saying is in transit to destination dont know what that mean spose to deliver to us September 4th by 6pm as of today September nothing no package call customer service they created the complaint but thats no help is crazy you cant get your package you paid 100 plus dollar usps should be own by FedEx or UPS they terrible if your package is lost to bad.....
Bought products from Amazon. They delivered via USPS. Every time they use USPS, always the same issues: USPS send me email that they attempt delivery, but no one home and no place for them to leave the package. Multiple redelivery requests ended in the same result. I had to pick the package up myself each time. I was home each time USPS said no one was home. That was just outright lies. They never really attempt to deliver the package, and forces customer to pick them up. Someone should investigate. Trump should get rid of USPS altogether.
I received an attempted delivery notification on a package on August 16. No information was left on the slip, other than a tracking number and an availability for pickup after August 17 at 9:00AM. I visited my local small post office, assuming it was the one that I needed to pick up from, and the lady behind the counter told me I had to go to a different location (the above location) to pick up.I was unable to get to the post office until August 22. I arrived around 10:00AM to a very long line at the pickup window (which said open 9:30AM, not 9:00AM like the slip). I believe the single employee behind the counter was doing her best to hear the situations and remedy them, but it resulted in a wait time of about 15 minutes per customer.The poor writing of the delivery person led her to enter the tracking number incorrectly twice. After the correct number was entered, and after waiting in the line for almost an hour (behind 5 people), she informed me that the package was out again for delivery. I never scheduled re-delivery.I will now be out of town for about a week and will again miss the delivery. This is highly inconvenient, considering packages are typically delivered during working hours when no one is home to accept the delivery.I am extremely inconvenienced by my visit. If I was on a tighter schedule, I would not have the luxury of waiting around for an hour. Im more concerned about the women with small children and elderly man in front of me who had to stand for long periods of time (there were no chairs in the area).The United States Postal Service needs to address the short-staffing issue to make the experience better that we ALL help to pay for in postage fees. The system should not be as archaic as a single woman going into some back room somewhere to sift through boxes and check each one for names individually.
I watched as 3 USPS trucks passed my house. I sat out on the porch and I got an email saying there was an attempted delivery??? I was right there. Then I go there to pick up my package. Completely useless. The place is disgusting and the lines are unbearably long and the workers attitudes are disgusting. If I could Id rate it 0 stars. I wish I had another choice for a post office cause this one absolutely sucks.
Never been there and i never wish to see this place or the people working in.Made an order on Nov 28 and it reached there from UT on Dec 24 and hasn’t moved an inch afterward.I contacted the seller which was kind enough to send me another urgent one on Dec 21 free of charge but unfortunately it reached the same facility again!Now 2 orders are stuck in there since Christmas with no idea how long will it take to leave
Completely incompetent.The complaints of others that they NEVER answer their phone is true. I tried ringing their phone for over an hour until it was picked up and immediately hung up without an answer. I did this for several days at different times to try to speak with the post master. The phone calls were never answered.This post office frequently mixes up my mail with my neighbors. Urgent packages that are overnighted never arrive on time. In fact, they are often several days late and require calling the main USPS number to have the re-deliver.It has happened many times that delivery attempts have not been made, but the tracking information says attempt made - no one at home. I work out of my home office and have been home each time this has happened.If the USPS is truly trying to improve their image and service, they need to fix the problems at this post office.
If I could give negative stars I would. Someone please close this facility down.They claimed they attempted delivery of my package but no entry access as well as a second attempt..so why wasn’t there a notice about anything?I schedule a redelivery on a Saturday - wasted my time because no one showed up. I then speak with a supervisor during the week who then told me it would be delivered Friday.. no one showed up. I had to call in the afternoon to then be told it didn’t leave the facility. After expressing anger they said they would have someone deliver it between 4-5pm and took down my phone number. I wasted another hour of my life waiting. No one showed up again!!!I try calling at 4:40 and apparently no one answers their phone at that time since they close at 5:00.This place needs to take more pride in what they do or just do everyone a favor and shut it down.Now I am waiting on line for 30 minutes to hope they have the package. I can’t wait to see what the next issue is (sarcasm).
Ive had my packages missing on several occasions when these people were doing the delivery. When I checked the shipping status, it would say Delivered even though I never received my package. I was home all day waiting for it on the day it was supposedly delivered. This happened more than once. One time my package was opened and the contents were stolen and all I received was an empty envelope. Was that someones idea of a joke? I have a feeling the people working there are the ones stealing my stuff. Even if they didnt steal my stuff, shouldnt they ring the doorbell or knock on the door and hand me my package instead of irresponsibly leaving it in the mailbox or in front of the doorstep? I tried calling them a couple of times in the morning and afternoon and no one would answer the phone even after I waited five minutes. If anyones reading this, can you message me telling me how I can report these people because this seriously needs to stop.
This place ... ridiculous EVERY time I go there will be ten people on line and it will clear 10 hours later, pick-up window has only one person ... does this make any sense to you and someone nearing retirement, for a post office with this much traffic, this can’t be the way management handles it. This is where my state/city tax is going to? making sure I wait on line for 6 hours to get one package... completely UNACCEPTABLE!And they hire the rudest people... like we just tryna get our mail over here that’s it, don’t need to be so malicious. SMH- avoid if you can and save your time ... you’ll thank me later
Ordered a package from amazon which guaranteed sunday delivery. This wonderful post office received it on Sunday morning and refused to mail it out. I tried to call the post office to determine the status of my shipment (the USPS website had listed it as available for pick-up despite the fact that I paid for delivery to my home). The number listed for this post office is not answered. I attempted to call multiple times.After unsuccessfully reaching the post office by phone, I traveled to the post office to pick up the package myself. After waiting online for 45 minutes, the clerk found the package within 2 minutes. Clearly this package was left to be ignored. When asked why the package wasnt delivered to my house, the clerk told me to go file a complaint with the USPS in an arrogant manner.Terrible service like this is why the USPS is suffering. To be honest, I am not at all surprised at the number of bad reviews for this post office.
I would give 0 ZERO stars if I could because one is to Generous. Very bad service. In this usps center very Hopeless & lazy people. I did expedite 2 day delivery,USPS tracking system shows your package will deliver at May 4th 2019 by 12PM. And today is May 6th they didn’t deliver my package. Expedite packages will delivered at SUNDAYS too but they didn’t deliver my package. And my merchandise website shows me it will deliver at May 5th. I gave them $20 extra for my per package I have 2 packages so I gave them total $40 for my 2 packages but they didn’t deliver on time. And when I call them then nobody response me. And at the usps office people are very rude. They treat like another person is their Slave. Very bad service i’m very disappointed from this hopeless usps center.
I am so disappointed with this locations service. They are rude, they work slow and they are always loosing my mails.Whenever their mail carriers drop my mails they just leave them at the floor at the entrance of my house. They dont care if any one from the street just get them. Even if the mails have insurace, they dont care. They just lost a mail that came from overseas and dont give any explanation where it is. They say they dont know all the time. Or just keep waiting. Like if two months is not enough! Unbelievable ! For this people that are members of a union are really the worst. Perhaps, since they think they cant get fired cause their unions protect them. They dont give a damn !
Get your stuff together. They need to either shut down or sell USPS to Amazon.... @Mark Besos PLEASE offer to buy them out! I never have any issues with FedEx or UPS that didn’t have some sort of resolution.The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. The postal region it was supposed to be sent originally, where I live? I called last night, waited for over an hour on the phone to speak to someone on the phone and when someone finally picked up, they hung up on my without saying anything. I’m on hold again as we speak for over an hour.
My first time going to pick up and package and I was on line a for 40 minutes. I finally got to the window and they sent me an email saying delivery attempted but left no notice so I used my tracking number. When I advise the clerk she sucked her teeth and said give it to me. I’m like ok no need for that. So I gave it to her I looked through the glass and just see her walking back and forth spoke to 2 other employees who never turned to help look for my package. She then comes back to me looking like she is going to tell me a huge lie and say it went back out for Redelivery. I’m like how is that possible when I went online and scheduled a pick up. Smh 🤦♂️ please stay away from this place no customer service or common courtesy. There were old people stains there with canes leaning up against to table top. Very unfair place it needs to be shut down and started over with new employees.
Today I applied for passport for my kid. I was with him on the place at 9:05 am. I was nervous because I read the reviews about this post office and I was ready for worst. People already were there. I think that 10-12 men stood before me. I spent around 50-55 minutes there. Man which accepted a documents was working fast. Today I was lucky. I dont have a complaints. Thanks!
Incompetent staff incompetent MANAGER. Saturdays are days when people are off from work and show up to collect packages. How is it that you have one window open and that staff member takes at least 10-15 mins with one customer? No leadership in this place, blind leading the blind, minimum wait at least 1 hour to collect a package and sometimes they get lost in the back and come back chewing on something like they just came from snacking .This explains why Post Offices will be a thing of the past, because of rude, incompetent staff. Youd expect the manager to schedule more staff to combat the busy weekend rush, but nope, things hasnt been changing. Submit your complaints to USPS directly. Worst post office Ive ever been too and what a disservice to the community.
Honestly the worse post office ever. Posted my package as delivered when I was home all day and never even see a USPS truck drive through. Called the main companys line to get the post offices number and either the phone doesnt work or they refuse to pick it up. Strongly thinking about making a claim with the better business bureau.
It is not surprising that I did not receive my packages and also did not receive a “notice” that I apparently failed to respond to the door. If I can choose my own post office, I rather retrieve my own mail than choose this one. Please get more staff or shut down because this facility is highly uncoordinated and very poorly managed.
I sent a package to China on June 24th 2019. Package arrived at this Jamaica NY location June 25 and it is now sept 18!!! Package still not arrived to its destination! Tracking and customer service says the package is still here... how is this possible?? Almost 3 months later?!? Now I’ll be out the 53 dollars for shipping and the 132 dollars for the items the post office lost, because something tells me by the looks of these reviews it’s never going to be found.
I have had three Priority Express International packages stuck in this facility for over three weeks. Nothing moves. Nothing gets updated. I contacted my two U.S. Senators and one U.S. Congressman asking them to support the immediate firing and replacement of the Postmaster General.
Easily the worst post office Ive ever been to. Maybe in NY as well.Never have I seen such incompetent workers that absolutely do not care about anything or anyone and work ignorant and slow. This goes for people at the windows and in the back. They never answer the phone either so you get no help no matter how you approach your issue.My package came here a few days ago (which it should have never) and of course, they had lost it and my tracking history was all screwed up. After realizing calling wont do anything, I drove over there. I found what I listed above. They are understaffed for the amount of people that go to that post office. Anyway the lady I spoke to was so confused about my problem I cant even believe how she qualified for the job. She didnt even know basic knowledge about USPS service. So here I am with a missing package.Absolutely terrible. That place needs a complete rejuvenation.
Mailed a package June 12 to the UK, as of * (9-18-2020) * its still in Jamaica NY! What is taking so long? I understand all this Covid-19 shutdowns and low in staff and airplanes but this is silly...I mailed a different package to UK and it went to Miami FL instead of NY, THANK GOD...and it only took that package 9 days to arrive!
Never. ever order a package that cannot fit in your mail box-- youll never get it. The delivery person wont ring the bell... wont leave a notice and lie about not having access... and to make matters worse, when you go to the post office to pick it up, they cannot find the package... you will be told to come back... and a week later they still cant find the package,... and then a week later, they will lie and say the package was delivered.
Pickup Window - TERRIBLE, there is only one person who actually gives her best to find stuff. Every other worker seems to say your mail/packages are not there. Today I witness a lady get her package after asking for a manager, the package was there but the worker taking care of her informed her that it was not and gave her about 3-4 conceivable excuses. So when they tell you this bs, dont listen and ask to speak to a manager/supervisor or ask them to look again politely. This is the 3rd time Ive witnessed this and there is only 1 lady there (tall dark) who knows what shes doing and where to look, that back room is so unorganized, it makes things really hard to find especially mail.Sad thing is that we cannot change post offices so please keep your cool as you dont want to stress yourself out. Had a very expensive package stolen from this locstion today by a postal worker who falsely signed for the package. The tracking all of a sudden stopped at this location, then updated to “delivered”. Nobody knows who’s handwriting is on proof of delivery signature slip. The package was coming to me in Texas. The last post man signed his name and stole the package. We have the home owners who live at the new jersey address also cooperating in the US govt investigation now. THE WALLS ARE CLOSING IN ON YOU THIEVES. I will see this through. I have started the process in finding out who stole the package. I will get to the bottom of this. WE COMING FOR YA. 🤭
The absolute worst. Fake attempted deliveries. Never rings bell and leaves notices that they cant get into the building when they have the code for the building. Packages get misplaced or resent to sender (Sometimes other countries). Had to open multiple claims. Office never picks up the phone. This has happened so many times. I truly hate USPS and this location with a burning passion.
I dont even live in New York and I know this is an absolute farce masquerading as a Post Office. If youre getting any kind of package and you love in the Northeast, you better hope and pray it doesnt end up routed through here. Its like an abyss where packages just disappear. Ive had pavkagpa disappear for weeks and just magically appear and start moving again once I file a missing package claim. It really is uncanny just how bad these people are at their jobs and I can only hope some of them see the litany of terrible one-star reviews here though I doubt they feel any emotion other than misery.
They never do their work properly. They delivered my packages some other place and specially in this summer they are making lot of mistakes. They have delivered my work permit card in some other place again. I will take this matter seriously now will tell the USCIS office about their irresponsibility.
It is reprehensible that International packages get held up here with zero accountability or reason as to WHY. They offer no explanation and no refunds if a 6 to 10 day package isnt delivered as promised and priced. What a joke! You would think a CLEARLY MARKED perishable package would take some priority. I did pay $125 for International PRIORITY mail - yet package was held here for over 11 days. Disgraceful
Came here to renew my passport. Just a note for anyone coming here for that exact reason; there’s only one window. Despite the passport website saying 9-4. It’s more 9:45AM -2PM. And if you get here at anytime after 12PM, you’ll have to wait till 1PM for that one person to come back.
Lines are typically super long and will be waiting for an over an hour to pick up a package when theres simply 6 people in front like howww??? My UGG boots return was lost or stolen at the facility, been over 3 years and still no come up, waste of my money. They need more staff or representatives to help the customers with their issues instead of saying to file complaints online.
Its a doggone shame that my community P.O. of Jamaica Qns (89th &164 st) is under staffed or employees dont want to be bothered!! I tried calling the phone number given let it ring and ring. (10 to 15mins) every time I called. Needed info about 2020 tax forms if available. WHAT THE HECK!!!
This Post Office is the WORST. I work for a State run Law Enforcement agency, were open from 8:30am-4:30pm, a lot of our mail is time sensitive and there are days when we get NO mail delivery or pick up and when someone finally comes to deliver mail were getting buckets of mail. Who do I have to complain to in order to get our mail in a timely fashion?
USPS honestly speaking you need to pay attention to your delivery. I don’t know who employs your staff or train them but your staff delivers my package to wring address and my package show deliver . I don’t know if your staff can’t read read but . Your company will have to pay

Why is this place still running with all these bad reviews? I was supposed to receive a package today but they claim that they made a delivery attempt and left a note, I found no note, and who ever supposedly attempted to deliver the package didnt even appear on my door camera. Was there today to apply for passport. Very awful services, this location is so busy that there were 36 people on the line for only one window. I spent an hour. When I realised the window just served 3 people from 1pm-2pm; i knew they wouldn’t serve me. Horrible place for passport application. Don’t show up in this location after 1pm.
I received horrible service until I met Mr. Dominic he took the time to explain the passport renewal service in all of five minutes, when the clerk at the actual window refused. I came prepared with my old passport and new passport photo. All I needed was the form and to buy a money order. The clerk at the window wouldnt even give me the form. He lied and said there was no more. Thank you so much Mr. Dominic!
Definitely has to be the worst post office in the U.S. Just recently moved to the area and made the mistake of purchasing a p.o. box at this wretched place. My mail usually takes much longer to get inside my mailbox (if it does so at all!!!) than at my previous address. I subscribe to DVD Netflix 3 out a month service and this post office has consistently outright lost one DVD a week!!!!!! This place should just shut down, get renovated, and taken over by hardworking competent people who pay attention to detail.
Horrible service, long wait time for their phone calls, missing mail and packages, rude workers, and the worst of all their new South Asian employee keeps messing up the mail in my block. Multiple mail I was supposed to get and a couple of packages went missing. I might end sueing the USPS for their poor service. In past theyd claim making attempts of delivery but never would. Always says they came to drop off my package then never leaves a slip and afterwards returned it back to the sender like why ? I went to the post office a day before and they had my package couldnt give it to me because they had to redeliver it when its only 3 blocks away from them . The lady there doesnt even help. The only guy that kinda helped was David.
They need to Close this Post Office Down or higher New workers, They never leave slips because they never came. They have stolen items that fave never been delivered. I live on the 2nd floor and they will not ring my Bell and leave packages on the entrance floor of my building. These people disgust me.
I don’t like to shine a bad light on things but I know they are a good workers that work there but the few really destroys this location. They claim to deliver packages when they don’t. I have security cameras at my home. And it can be a bad experience when you picking up your package.
If I could give 0 stars I would because of the rude and arrogant woman in her 20s with glasses and a bad weave. She let a man cut in front of me and when I protested she ignored me and the man threatened me and no security to be found I am a female and was verbally harassed yet no one did anything. To add insult to injury the woman fetching packages had the nerve to tell me that thats not her problem and she helps whoever comes to the window and told me that I shouldnt have let him cut in front of me. This woman should be fired and sent to anger management her tone of voice and aggressive manner just cant be explained in text. In short this is the worst Post Office I have ever been to and I been to the Arverne post office in Far Rockaway and Chicago post offices were nicer than this one.
Im not sure whats going on in this place but Im tired of these People stealing my packages!! This is the 2nd time this year and it is absolutely ABSURD!! No one picks up the phone or if you finally get thru they dont even offer any kind of info as to why my stuff hasnt been delivered and WHERE ITS AT IF I HAVENT RECEIVED IT, Unexplained ROBBERY where if I touched someone elses mail its a FEDERAL OFFENSE yet the place who you trust to deliver your things safely are Blatantly robbing you from inside a federal establishment with no logical explanation, just excuses for its pitiful staff... Where do I begin. The manager the Muslim woman over charges me every time on flat rate packages. The lines are way to long they need more workers. Ive had a number of items stolen smh. On 4/29/17 I arrived about 1:30, I asked the Muslim manager was there a separate line for the stamps and the money orders. She ignored me and gave me a very ugly look. Then went to the front of the line to ask those who needed that... When I just asked her about it 😒🤔. Then I get in the line she is like you need to go to the back... I said why? She said because these people were here first. I said it just a line. Then a woman with a child skipped the line... Then an elderly Muslim man pushed his way in front of me , right in front of the manager and she didnt do anything just blamed me for being in front of those waiting! Im really done with this post office. Then when my mail lady goes on vacation. The ones who replace her are lazy! There are 3 boxes so separate the mail or dont take someones route! Brooklyn. Was never like this never !!
I completely disagree with all the 1 star reviews.I have a PO Box there and all the reps are very friendly and efficient.Especially the mgr with the tie. He is always asking if people have their slips to pick up packages andhe helps them all which keeps the lines short.If there are issues, then its the wait time, but do not blame the PO for the over population of the neighborhood!!!
Its not often you come to the post office and find someone so helpful. Yet, today I found a really nice guy who is helpful, very patient and always has a smile on his face. His name is David and he works in the pick up services area. I just want to say thank you to him and his pleasant helpful demeanor should he acknowledged
Every time I call about a missing mail I get the run around. I had a change of address yet they took my mail to my old address. This has been going on for a while now. At my old address they did the same thing. They really need to be under new management. This place makes me want to go into postal it makes me want to go work there just the save everybody whos having trouble with this place. This place really need a zero star. Need to better train the mail carriers.
Worst post office I have seen. Jamaica is so big their post office should be better. No employee cares from the top to the bottom or from the front line to the back. Its a shame and really disappointing. Important mail and packages dont come to your house it goes elsewhere and the post office has no answers. If you dont care leave the job! I wish the oost office staff could be replaced completely.

They open at 9am, I got here at 830, there was only like 15 people ahead of me and im still her at 1219 with 6 people ahead of me. They only have one window open and no manager on duty, they dont make any announcements, I asked they guy about that and he said people just have to read. They have to be a way to completely replace the staff or SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN,because this makes no sense and wasting tax payer money. Makes claim that there was an attempt for delivery but there is no notice left on door or whatsoever. (happens frequently) Also said that they left one of my packages in my mailbox but there is no way the item I ordered can physically fit in my tiny apartment mailbox, resulted in losing that package.

There’s a white lady who always sits on the same last window to the left everyday. I usually send out a lot of packages and that’s the closest one to my house. Whenever I go, the other staff are pretty nice and always do their job right. This white lady I swear is the MOST RACIST lady ever. She needs to be fired on the spot. Both of the times she doesn’t ask do you need to insure it or have the package signature required. She never asks if there’s any sort of liquid or anything harmful in package. Like I’m a consumer and I can do a better service than her. She needs to be fired. IF YOU GO THERE SND SEE A WHITE ELDERLY FEMALE AT THE LAST WINDOW ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE, JUST FORGET ABOUT SENDING YOUR PCKAGE IF YOUR NEXT AND SHES GOING TO ASSIST YOU OR LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE SUFFERING. She scans in my package to ship out, she prints out the label and tells me the amount it’s going to be and to pay for it. I asked if I can insure it and she starts being beyond rude and saying why didn’t you tell me earlier. Why did you wait for the last minute. I’m like you didn’t print me a receipt yet, I haven’t paid it. You’re using a computer and not a pen and paper, so I can make many changes as I like to MY PACKAGE THAT IM PAYING TO SHIP OUT. she gets louder and tells me I’m stupid to wait till last minute mind you I stepped up to her about 1 min in she starts arguing and giving me attitude.WHAT KIND OF ASSISTANCE IS THIS?She needs to be fired.I fight with her whenever I get her. My package had reached this facility on the 24th of March. It is now the 2nd of April. Why has my package not moved from your facility? Im currently deployed . This is absurd. If I do not receive my package soon I will be filing a complaint. All of these complaints about the same thing and it seems as if this facility does not understand.
My girlfriend payed 30.00 for overnight delivery to my home.. and they never delivered it, not even attempted and never tried to contact us. The package contained items that were suppose to be for my daughters first bday party. What’s the point of paying overnight service and tracking just because someone at the jamaica office was too lazy to do their job and how miserable those employees are .. I guess they want to make everyone miserable. How many undelivered packages that gone missing or sent back to the carrier, countless hours spent trying to figure out why they refuse to deliver on time or directly to my Home. I waited over 2hour 10minutes or more at the pick-up services line just to collect a certified mail. This was so atrocious. One post mistress at window this is ridiculous. Now customers are cussing cause they are so frustrated. Management need to do something to relieve this wait time. People has things to do.
This is the worse post office I ever been ! Extremely sort of staffing. No matter when you go, you expect to be on the line for more than an hour! No parking ! Staffs are rude ! No assistance when you look for something you cant find . They need to have the staff double up ! This is the only post office cover huge area !
They never pick up the phones and they are so slow, and short on staff. The staff dont even try to access you at your home and they constantly make mistakes on the notes they make, making it harder to find your package in the post office. The staff is rude and they dont try to help you either. With in the time of living in the neighborhood Ive lost 2 packages and they dont give any help with that either. They tell you to call and when you call you still get no answer.

This branch of the federal government boasts lines so long that many customers leave in frustration! If youre one of the lucky few to make it to the window, youll be greeted by their lone staff member! Be sure to bring a towel. Theres no air conditioning in the summer. This location continues to give the appearance of being woefully mismanaged and/or underfunded.
This place is one of a kind (I am not going to say what). Went up the the clerk and asked for a signature confirmation slip since there werent any. She gave it to me with an attitude and then I let her know that there arent any pens to fill it out and if she can led me hers. She tells me that she only has one and that people take it from her I told her I will return to the window and return it to her and she tells me no, this is the only one I have. Then I say what about the other one that is on the table and she tells me oh, that one doesnt write. Then she catches an attitude at me and starts flipping out. I asked her to call for the manager and she says there arent any. I asked for her name which she refuses to give me her name. I later learned from someone else that her name is Kathy. Kathy do everyone a favor and tell your supervisor to sign you up for customer service training 101, better off just quite someone most likely would love to go into your spot.Stay away from this place.
This Postal Office does not address community concern such as mail delivery on time, and mandatory deliveries for their understaffed office. Please, where is the management for discrepancies and complaints? They dont deliver my packages and they lie about it by saying they showed up and no one answered and they never leave a notice. I have cameras all around the building and every time they say they come by I go and check the cameras and no one even showed up. This has happened multiple times.
Getting im contact with anyone at this branch is ridiculous..you can call all day and nobody will ever pick up. And when a miracle happens and they do pick up they either hung up instantly or started dialing like its their first time using a phone.. i would love to visually see the lazymutant low lifes they have working there.
Its like Russian Roulette when u go to this post office.... sometimes, youre in & out (if u already know what u need, where it is, and what line to stand in) and sometimes, it can seem like youre there FOR EVER (if ur confused in any way - theres no one to answer ur questions unless u dare to get out the line youve been waiting in for 20 minutes).Overall, my experiences have become a lot easier. My community depends on this postal service and Ive frequented this location for over a decade. Im an expert at the minimal service that I actually require BUT I see and hear the stressful cries of other reviewers and actual people at the post office, when I go. I spent one hour waiting for them to find my package, only to hear they lost it and have no idea where it is, service is so slow and unreliable. Try to avoid using this place for your own good, horse and carriage would be a better delivery system compare to this post office.

Especially at morning to noon you have to wait on the line a long time. Waiting area needs to be repaired and decorated. Lots of things missing that we normally need at post office as like pen, certified Mail post, return label etc. and some of them were totally mess.
As a black person, this post office is an embarrassment to me. they leave pkgs right on the doorstep with no notice even when you are at home because they do not bother to ring the bell, nor do they put the packages behind the hedges. they dont care. they hire casuals [those are the mail carriers dressed in their regular clothes] when the regular mail carriers have quit [as per usual in this neighborhood] or are absent for whatever reason. these casual mail carriers are not vetted, checked, screened or even questioned. they are just given bundles of mail to deliver for a certain day wage which makes one wonder who would need this money so badly. HMMMMMMMMM? so these are the people delivering the mail here many, many times. once, a drug addicted criminal was used as a casual and none of the people on union hall street or 160th street received any mail for over TWO weeks. after numerous calls to this post office and many in-person complaints from the neighborhood, it was discovered that this casual had been picking up his paycheck each day out of need for this money for his habit while discarding all our mail in his own private landfill somewhere. the post office then sent apologies immediately to this entire neighborhood while admitting to this travesty. it was the first i had ever heard of casuals but at least, this incident made it clear as to why this post office is the absolute worst. once i saw a neo-nazi, completely racist comment written about them and i had to hold my head in shame because that comment had been so, so true.

Two workers in the cashier made fun of me for my accent. I had an unpleasant experience. My english isnt perfect but Ive been going to this post office for years, and I have never had someone disrespect me like that. There was never a problem. It is unprofessional and discriminating. It was a horrible feeling. I dont recommend going here
Everyone has to answer to someone in business, And they have to answer to the POST MASTER GENERAL.but put your complaint in writing and not just voice it out or blog it. Written word has more power. a billion dollar business understands real complaints. Not those complaints that end up on late night comedy shows. And please note: if you dont stay on it (which most companies hope) nothing will happen! they only take care of those who are serious about their complaints. That goes for any business. the game is profit! and bad complaints dont bring profit!..But I agree with the comments on here.
DO NOT COME HERE. This place is supposed to be the main office but it is undermanned, employees are rude. With just six people waiting in line at the pick-up services, it is guaranteed that you will spend at least one hour in line. Either they get more staff or shut down for everyones sake. You have elderly people standing & waiting for that long for a service that they pay for. SHAME!!!! ****Zero stars if that was an option*** They dont care about customer service. JUST SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN.
This place sucks a**, the people are annoying arses. The wait time is unbelievable. The employees are slow af they will literally take the whole day and right when your next on line, theyll shut the booth down. How is one person supposed to serve 50+ people waiting on a damn line. Avoid this place, the post office sucks ass.
I HATE THIS POST OFFICE! The staff and service here are terrible and the least bit helpful. The lines here are disgustingly long ( I had to wait EIGHT years HOURS just to get a passport, only to get sebt home because the woman at the window simply didnt want to) By the way, if you want to get a passport, good luck, most people have to be there before nine to even get a ticket

2021-12-27Pick-up services are extremely slow, typically its 5-15 minutes per person wait time. When you see only 7 people in line, expect to stand there for an hour.

2022-02-01To people who are getting worried reading reviews:My package from Ukraine in and out in a day. I have had two pleasant experiences with international centers like this. Almost always things go smoothly, and in these circumstances people get their package and thats it, they dont leave a positive review. Only people who have had bad experiences feel the need leave reviews. Rest assured that more likely that not, your package will quickly move through.

2022-05-17I have lived in the area for about 6 years now and this post office is the worse ive ever dealt with. The package slips are left in the foyer with no names. we have to figure out who they belong too in a building of about 105 apartments. the USPS has keys to all the buildings in the area....why is it that packages are never delivered on the first attempt. I WORK FROM HOME...but the USPS says i was not there. they are a lazy post office and they are extremely rude. no one will answer any phone calls....go ahead and try....they will put you on hold and then hang up and then not answer anything. Please try to call.

2022-04-25Was on hold for 29 minutes then it automatically hung up, and my package hasn’t updated for a month now. Still says it departed from here but it hasn’t updated for a month. It is a priority package from the UK. Nothing fancy or expensive in it but it was a care package from loved ones. Worst usps I’ve EVER dealt with. Management needs to step it up or be replaced ASAP

2022-02-17My express 1 day package has been stuck here for more than a day… they don’t answer phones and I’m assuming they are lazy or stole my package. They just cost usps $100 because they refused to be professional enough to assure the 1 day delivery that I paid for.

2022-03-23After my package was shipped here I got a shady text message from someone that was pretending to be UPS saying that my address was incorrect and in order to fix it they had to charge me. The message contained a link to a website that looks like UPS but its not, and they asked for my card info. I have a feeling Im never going to get my package.

2022-04-13I shipped some important paperwork to Canada and it has been stuck at Jamaica NY and hasnt updated since February 24th. It is now April 11. There is no way to file a missing mail apparently since it is first class mail international. Ridiculous. Called USPS they didnt do anything. I have no idea what to do. If anyone reading this is in a similar situation, please update your review with dates so people know how long it has been taking and if your package ever actually arrives. I will update this if anything ever updates. Doubtful.UPDATE: Apparently my document reached its destination, but I have no idea when. It hadnt been scanned since Feb 24th when arriving at Jamaica and no scans after and did not scan in Canada. I just received the letter from Canada that I requested when I mailed them and today is April 13th.

2022-02-14So I don’t know if it only happens to me, but every time they send different delivery guys. And most of them, don’t really know how respect private property. Every time they come, they open and kick my gate and then they leave it open, as if it was too hard to close it. And today, when I asked the guy who delivered my mail about why he wouldn’t close the gate, he responded he didn’t care and that he had his hands busy. And I was looking at him through my front door cameras, as he opened the gate with both hands and then he leaves and the gate it’s wide open. Don’t they teach them at the workplace to be respectful of people’s property or they just hire them and send them out there to do a careless job. And I’m doing this because I see almost every day and because the guy who delivered today (February 14th, 2022, told me to go ahead and complain, he didn’t care. I guess that makes me think; he thinks he is superior to everyone else? People need to learn.

2022-05-07My sister sent me a package since April of last year. To this date Sat, May 7, 2022 I have never received my package. After 1 million calls and emails they just stole my package! If your package has to go through this center considered that you will never receive it because this center is full of thieves!

2022-05-23I received a package today that was supposedly a Dooney & Burke crossbody purse. It was not by any means that brand. It’s from China (crooks) and no way to send it back. I have reported the address on the package to the international FBI and they will look into this for me. Scam artists!
