United States Postal Service in other cities:
I mailed 2 packages from DeWitt to California and only one arrived. The tracking number simply states the package is in transit after 2 weeks. The Post Office could give me the name of the California Post Office where it was last scanned but cant call the post office directly because they only have a 1-800 phone number which is an automated labyrinth to nothing. Even though they are part of the same business there is no directory from post office to post office. I hope eventually the package arrives, but I will gladly pay $20 more at UPS or FedEx rather than deal with a business stuck in the 20th century.
I usually go to this post office even though it is not the closest to my house as I find that they are more patient, better staffed, and looking to help me with my post office needs. There have been a few times that they are busy, but overall, its less of a wait here than at other post offices in the area.
So patient and professional! They helped us with a complicated order involving many letters to 3 different countries - all different weights. While we were there, another woman had a complaint about perceived mis-information and they handled it clearly and directly. All of this was within 15 minutes of closing on a Saturday with a long line waiting, so they could have easily been rushed or unpleasant. Highly recommend!
(Please.... read the other customers postings dealing with the same issues.( The front desk Staff ) at Branch 6581 Kinne Rd, Syracuse, NY 13214 is not fit for the USPS. Customer care is the worst i have seen from any business Ive ever seen. Poor lack of communication, understanding of how there own system works (The front desk Staff) . Customers are what drives a business.... customers mean nothing at this branch of office. And if you do have a problem with a USPS branch.... can someone, please tell me how to file a complaint and not get told to use a 800 number, yet after calling, being hold for 1 hr 30 mins and talk to a machine the entire time . Very Dissatisfied Customer.

2022-03-16This place is the worst. I cannot wait to move. They don’t process things correctly and they’re rude. I haven’t been getting my mail for almost 2 weeks. I don’t know how many packages weren’t supposed to be forwarded to my physical address and still were, but not only were the not sent to the right address, they were stolen too!!! Apparently it’s because “someone was covering for someone else” 🙄 Do yourself a favor and get a PO Box SOMEWHERE ELSE

2022-04-27They can’t find anything lost a card with $2000+ and no one knows where it’s at, but on the website it’s says it’s at the post office I wish I could give them 0 stars, the phone service is despicable and frustrating. The in person workers were not even dressed in uniform

2021-08-18First time coming here. Both ladies were rude as soon as I walked through the door. Long story short, they ended both laughing in my face. You can tell these people are the type to trash talk their customer as soon as they walk out the door. I won’t be coming back.

2018-12-05This is my usual post office and Ive always had great customer service. There are two women who work at the counter most of the time and both are extremely kind and helpful. Ive had one or two visits when I didnt recognize the person behind the counter and the service was just nondescript. I cant say Ive had bad service so the negative reviews seem a little odd. The layout of the building is a little odd and not really conducive for forming a long queue. The parking lot can also be a little difficult as far as the layout goes. Ive seen many potential, but thankfully avoided, fender benders.

2021-05-10Twice now (at least) I have mailed packages from work. I put the flag up on the mailbox and they sit in the mailbox for days while the postal person continues to shove more mail into the mailbox. Im not happy and will be filling a complaint.

2020-12-23I submitted a complaint via the main USPS website regarding a package that we sent to Dewitt, but tracking info. shows it stuck in NJ -- for weeks! Within hours, Emilio from Dewitt personally called to apologize on behalf of the USPS and said hed continue tracking it for us and would alert his staff to be on the lookout. What a gentleman. Thanks, Emilio. Keep us posted!

2021-07-07I have been trying for over 11 minutes to get through to a human being at the DeWitt, NY Post Office, to ask a question about stamps that were paid for but not in the envelope provided. The USPS is using the voicemail/phone-tree system from hell.

2018-01-10Customer service at the post office here is truely dismal. Ive witnesses and experienced some of the worst customer service at this particular post office. The entire experience is akin to visiting the DMV. You wait in line for a long time, only to be told you did something wrong when your numbers finally up. This is somewhat typical at post offices in my experience. However today I saw a customer seeking information about where a package with very important legal documents was, only to be met with hostility by the postal worker. Who ended up giving him a supervisors number and leaving him unattended at the counter saying, they dont pay me enough to argue with you. The man was inquiring and not arguing. But again, this is commonplace for the post office. I highly recommmend not using them whenever possible. Packages over 5 pounds generally go cheaper through UPS anyway and the customer service is far superior.

2018-12-25Ive always had pleasant interactions at this branch, polite clerks who answered basic questions. The lobby is definitely too small for the volume of customers who often wait in a long line out the interior door into the p.o box room. Would love to see remodeling with an expanded lobby and more clerk windows.

2019-07-27Worst post office ever. There was a woman at the window and she was flat out unprofessional so as a result she is the one reason I will never revisit this location. She was absolutely rude and treated me like I was stupid. I told her I needed to mail something and she gives me an envelope and shouts next while she pushes me out the door. Seriously? What happened to decent customer service? Or even a smile?
