People are SUPER friendly and want to help. You can bring your animals inside. Workers always wear masks. Like any brick & mortar shop...sometimes the stock is exactly what you want, sometimes not...but its super convenient and a great local selection for cats & dogs.
We had an an exceptional training experience at Petco with Joe during Puppy level 1 classes. He truly goes above and beyond. You can tell that he truly cares about each dog he trains, and was great at teaching us new dog parents too. I know Louie learned a lot from him, but I did too. One of the unique parts about Joes training, which I loved (and I dont think I realized was so unique until recently), is that he focused only on positive training and rewarding the good behavior. I found myself constantly reminded about the way a dog might think about a situation.Joe was patient when answering all of my questions during the time we had together - and trust me, I had A LOT. The classes have helped us so much through our first 4 months together, and still to this day. Today Im so proud of my Louie - he truly is the best dog - so well trained, Im eternally grateful from what we learned from Joe. I would recommend the Puppy level 1 classes with Joe to any friends who need dog training!
The customer service and information I received from Mark was exceptional and invaluable. I left with the knowledge and supplies I needed to take the best care is my 8 week old Aussie all while staying within budget. I am forever grateful and will definitely shop here from now on.
Good place to get your pet needs and advice on behavior & training. People who work there know their stuff, were very helpful in trying to get my foster dogs proper harness. They also gave great advice on how to care for this specific breed and just really took their time. I had never been in the store before, so good first impression!
Great little Petco for your pet needs. Would recommend calling beforehand just to check they have what you need but they most likely will. Come here sometimes to buy special JustForDogs frozen food for my old lil pup. So far theyve always had it in stock when Ive came, especially when other Petcos ran out.
We had a great experience at Unleashed by Petco! Caitlyn was very helpful to us! She gave great advice. As well as, suggestions about discounts on cat food and litter. We only came in for litter. However, we ended up getting more of what we needed. She helped us even as the store was closing!
Had everything we needed. Still had a good variety of products despite the small size. Much cleaner than most pet stores. No live animals for sale, just kitten adoptions and the like from local agencies. Dont miss the the regular Petco at all! Easily accessible via public transport, so got a 40 lb litter bag home easily! So far, so good!
Not generally a fan of large chain pet stores, but this location is very clean, well stocked, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. They even host adoption events from time to time, which is how we got our sweet pup. Note: They are bagless (heck yeah!) so prepare to bring your own bag or purchase a cheap reusable tote from them.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT VETCO. after being checked in my children, pup and i walked over the VETCO inside of PETCO. KRISTI made eye contact, and offered no greeting other than Ill take Niko (our pup). We handed over the dog, and got him right back in under a minute, and were dismissed with a checkout slip. I asked about the complimentary nail clipping included with vital care, only to be met with a blank stare and rudeness from KRISTI the vet assistant. We dont do that here, You would need to take him to a Vetco that does that. When I commented on how bothered she seemed by my question, which may have been obvious to her but unknown to me as a new puppy parent and customer, she excused herself stating, I had a long day. No apology, just justification. The Attending Veterinarian, Dr. James Melendez was equally rude and dismissive. Not one bit of information was given during my visit. No care directions for my pup, No next steps, no invitation for questions... just a slip to checkout, blank stares and nastiness. The service received today is definitely noted as the worst service in any industry that Ive received to date. Vetco is advertised as an inexpensive alternative to a traditional Veterinarian office, and the service received matched that. Non-service minded express Vets who lack passion or enjoyment in what they do. That was more than apparent today. When I complained with the gentleman who checked me in he shared that Vetco and Petco are separate and you never know what youre going to get with the team scheduled. He implied that sometimes they are good and sometimes they are not. I left enraged, confused, dissatisfied and with unanswered questions. The worst part is the doctor left me negative feedback in the notes on my pets record, saying that I was verbally abusive, which is untrue, and noted my puppy was matted. I’ve had my puppy over two months and he’s not been able to go to the groomers as we wait for his shots. If the doctor would’ve cared enough to understand, or engage in conversation about his care, he would have known that, rather than being passive-aggressive on medical records. Truly disappointing for a new puppy parent and a new customer and patient of Petco and Vetco.
I really like this place, despite the prices. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they have a really good selection. We love the self-serve kitty litter. Just keep a couple of the containers you get your litter in, walk up to the bulk litter, scoop it into your containers, and pay way less than you normally would, while keeping a heck of a lot of places out of the waste stream!!
Convent location and helpful employees. I was in there for 10 minutes and had three employees ask if they could help me find something. I almost thought they were messing with me by the end of my trip. Decent selection of dog food, leashes, and collars. Futuristic technology exists here allowing you to make dog tags really quickly!
They have some great food selections here and the staff is always really friendly. We just moved out here from Indianapolis, so the city has been very stressful for my dog. He improved enough in his training that I put him to work, put a backpack on him, and bought some cat food. This store has gone bagless (which I love), so my dog carried the food back to our apartment. He LOVED the attention he got at the store and the positive experience was a huge help to his continued progress! Of course, he received payment for his hard work with a braided bullystick.
Lena is absolutely amazing! She helped me and assisted me with all my needs. She picked the perfect Greenies for my little pooch. She was so attentive & patient with unlike another employee that had a disgusting attitude! Thank you again LENA! I’m bringing you lunch!!!
They did a campaign against artificial ingredients in pet food, which is a great idea. However, the brand with natural ingredients I got recommended did not work at all for my cat. He either refused to eat it and when he did, he got diarrhea or constipation, which has never happened before with other cat food brand (and I tried at least 8 different brands). Im not a vet and I dont know what exactly was wrong with that cat food, but I wish they could test their products before promoting them to this degree. How about less campaigns ABOUT good conscience and more ACTUAL good conscience?
During this crazy time tensions are high and Im want to be outside and around people as minimal as possible. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed that I had to wait 20 minutes on a line for general shopping to pickup an online order. I ordered online be in and out to have minimal contact with the public and Im forced to wait on a line for people who are going to shop. Why should I wait for the 10 people ahead of me to shop when the order is already paid for and placed and ready to be picked up. HEADS UP... IF YOU ORDER ONLINE YOU MAY STILL HAVE TO WAIT. SMH.
Our 10 year-old dachshund had been having consistent diarrhea even after we brought him to the vet (and the vet had said that I might want to change up his food), when my boyfriend suggested that I talk to the experts at Unleashed. I took his advice and went in one day recently and explained everything that was happening to the amazingly knowledgeable Lukas. Lukas was incredible—he really listened to me and took the time to explain what he thought might be happening and why, and he gave me spot-on advice and directed me to the products that he thought would be the best to quell my dog’s diarrhea. After literally one day of following Lukas’s advice, my dog’s diarrhea stopped and he was acting like a different, much happier dog. It was amazing. Thank you so much to Lukas and the other great, attentive employees at Unleashed. Great people, great place.
It’s a great store, used to love it. recently they’ve adopted a bag free policy and if you happend to not have a bag with you, you gotta buy an over priced tote bag, or you try to juggle all the cans while walking home. The idea of reducing plastic waste is great, no doubt - but could you please be considerate for the customers who don’t know your policy? At least putting up a sign at the front door so that they could come back when they have a bag? Or at least tell someone who doesn’t have a bag BEFORE checking out? I find it a pity that they make so much effort in those campagnes to make the brand look great, but then they put so little effort in customer service.
I cant believe what just happened. Passed by the store and wanted to grab some food for my pup. I usually have a tote bag with me and I would tell the cashier not to give me extra plastic bags. But today I didnt have a bag. When I was checking out, I noticed a tiny sign at the cashiers that they are plastic bag free and instead I could buy an over priced, poorly designed tote bag. So I said I didnt want to buy a bag that I will probably never use again. She said shell find me something so I made the payment. Then she couldnt find me something to put all the cans in, and she turned to the stores manager for help. He came to me with a judgmental look on his face, gave me a lecture about their stores policy, that theyve been plastic bag free since A MONTH and that hell give me a garbage bag and this shall NEVER happen again. I stood there, totally overwhelmed by the sudden and blunt critics, cautiously asked: Do you.. prefer that I dont buy anything? I could return those and come back when I HAVE a bag. He said: Ill give you a garbage bag this time but itll be the last time that this EVER happens. You made your point, dude. Your mission is to punish all the evil people out there who dont bring a tote bag when they go shopping and they shall think hard about it at home, and return civilized and good. Oh no I feel so ashamed that I dare never come back here again. God forgive me.
My wife and I are frequent shoppers here at Petco Unleashed and all the employees are great except for one. We had a horrible experience today. We came in because we are switching our cats food and we needed a little assistance. We asked the associate “ Ife “ for assistance and as We approached her she gave us dirty looks as if she didn’t want to assist us. My wife then started asking many questions in reference to different cat foods and which would be the best fit for our cat, and she had such a nasty attitude. She bent over and her whole behind was out, and then after being rude to us. I asked for a manager she told me a manager was on break and then sucked her teeth and strutted away. My wife and I will be calling & speaking to a manager because this was unacceptable.
This store is a neighborhood staple! The store is clean and spacious, and they carry practically everything my pupper could dream. Their selection of toys is so adorable; I cant help but leave with a new one for my doggo whenever we swing by. Sometimes trainings are taking place while were visiting, and Ill learn a helpful training trick while Im in line to check out! The best thing about this place, though, is the people who work there. They are true animal lovers who delight in giving your dog pets and treats.
Unleashed is a decent pet store but limited. It is quite odd some of the things that the main Petco stores carry that Unleashed does not, such as the Happy Hips dog treats. For what they carry theyre fine. Park Slope needs a full range pet store now that Petland has closed.
Ok so. Ive come to this store even though I have 4 other petco that are closer. Bec this is the BEST petco they are very professional and very nice. Now about an experience I recently had. My dog got bitten by another dog while I was paying. the employees Where very nice and where helping me a lot I ended needing to go to the vet the other owner had disappeared. But I called up the store the next day and the manager got it all worked out that they will take care of it A few days later I came back to talk to the manager about something and everyone was coming over and giving slot of love to my dog. And he really needed it. At the end petco took care of my vet and my dog is doing much better. Unleashed by petco this place has the most warm and awesome staff. And awesome dog training (I went to a few petco for training this one has the best trainers)
This pet store has the friendliest staff and offer free treats for your furry friends around the store as well as the outdoor seating space which offers respite from Brooklyns hustle and bustle. On weekends, be sure to come by for some free gourmet coffee from Cafe Regular Du Nord.

2022-01-31The place was decently stocked but a friend of mine bought a bag of dog food because they were close by and was going to swing by my place anyway so it seemed convenient and good timing. Turns out the bag of dog food was over 6 months expired. I finally got to the place to exchange it and that was simple enough. Nothing about the awful and potentially harmful mistake of having sold over 6 months passed expiration date dog food. Would have been nice to have been appreciative of my understanding and not being extra dramatic about it. This photo was Jan 24,2022.

2018-01-15This is a pet supply store and not a pet shop therefore no pets so they have enough space in the small building to stock up on almost every item that your pet could possibly need. The service is good and the people are very polite. They have a very good knowledge of the products that they sell. When my cat was sick and had trouble eating they recommend a diet supplement that made it possible for my cat to eat without throwing up. Overall a great shopping experience.

He did an awesome job of explaining certain concepts to me and my wife in multiple ways so we good both understand.We can hardly walk past the pet store without our dog wanting to say hello to Joe. Were starting to feel jealous!

2020-10-13I just left this location and could not be happier! I needed help picking out a rain jacket for my puppy and she wasn’t sitting and sniffing all over. One of the sales associates (I didn’t get his name) stood there with me and gave my pup a treat while we tried some on. Thanks so much for your help!

2021-10-10At this location the staff are friendly and dont mind answering questions about items in the store or packages offered. What one doesnt know they will find someone that can assist you in the department or area youre question is about. Its clean inside and they do require everyone to wear a mask . The technicians that handle your pets are great. Theyre friendly and patient with the animals. Ive been here 4 times so far and each time it was a pleasure shopping or having my fur baby tended to.

2021-08-11My visit here was great. The staff were all friendly and helpful in assisting me in getting the items I needed for my dog. The store is clean and everything is neatly stocked and in order making it easy to find things and follow directions giving to locate specific items.
