Upgrade to the Electric Bike! So fun! Insurance wasnt necessary tho. Had a great time with LEE as our tour guide! Note* there are no bike baskets for E bikes. Luckily I was able to leave my bag and jacket at store front for them to watch for me. Lots of photo opps, and interesting info. Highly reccomend!
Charming John led our group on our guided tour of Central Park. We spent two hours on Saturday seeing parts of the Park that we would never have seen on foot. John told us interesting facts as we stopped to view the highlights. He was patient and very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who is fairly fit. The bikes were good too!
We really enjoyed our walking tour with Lee. The entire tour was about 2 hours which I thought was enough time to see many highlights without it becoming an all-day event! Lee knew tons of great info about the park history. He came prepared with some pictures to show us how various portions of the park looked long ago. I’m very happy with this tour and recommend it.
Dan as a tour guide was awesome! 5 star for sure! He was so knowledgeable and went out of his way to take tons of great pictures of each family. Deducted a star because of troubles that we had our bikes since my wife and daughter had to use a mens bike instead of a womens bike. The tour itself was great and Dan make it a memorable experience.
We rented on a very busy Memorial Day weekend and the staff handled it all very well. Bikes were very good quality and well maintained. Only complaint is that we booked online for the Columbus Circle location and were told to pick up there, but when we got there they didnt have enough bikes of the right size and sent us to the 56th St location. We would have been fine going there originally if they had let us know, so it was kind of annoying to take time to walk to the other store. Its understandable on such a busy day and everything else was great. Not too expensive either!
Did this bike tour on a beautiful Saturday at 12:00 PM. John was a great tour guide, he shared so many interesting facts about the park that you could not find out yourself. You can tell he really enjoys sharing stories about his experiences in central park. 10/10 tour and would highly recommend.
What an amazing tour. The whole process was very organized and professionally run. Our guide, Dan, provided so much interesting information along the way and took us on an amazing route through the park! I would highly highly recommend it to anybody visiting Manhattan!
Pros: Our tour guide, John, knew a lot about Central Park and shared a lot of interesting information. You could tell how much he loved the city as he’d lived near the park his entire life. It was such a treat to learn from him. Our bikes worked well and made for easy riding.Cons: our tour started 30 minutes late due to congestion getting everyone on bikes and geared up. This was a little frustrating as there was an additional hour added onto our schedule from waiting and then finishing late. Our guide struggled to keep the group together. He wasn’t wearing anything bright so it was very difficult to find him in the crowds of bikers in the park.
On our last day in NYC, my wife and I thought it would be fun to bike around Central Park. We only had a few hours left, and saw the positive reviews here, plus we had a discount from the Big Bus tour. We went to get tandem bikes, and waited in line for ~20 minutes. They then didnt know if they had tandem bikes and it took 10 minutes or so to sort out that they DID have the tandem bikes. Hurray for us. However, when we went outside, we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to GET the bike, and then it turns out it doesnt work!It took an additional 30 minutes to RETURN the bike, that didnt even work to begin with (we didnt even get to take it off the lot, as the petals didnt work). Once we went to return it, they told us that they cant process refunds, even though we didnt use it. We instead have to contact some email address and go through a whole other process.Luckily they indeed are refunding the money! I dont understand why there is such a high rating for this place as its incredibly busy, and the rude people at Central Park were actually a better experience since they give you a bike in 5 minutes without hassle for taking it out or returning.
We rented two bikes to bike around Central Park. We paid extra for the insurance as we had read a negative review from someone the day before who was charge when their chain fell off. At first they told us they did not have a bike lock for us. After some searching they came up with one. The lock looked like it was being held together with tape when questioned the worker told us it was fine. We rode to the other side of Central Park and locked the bikes up around the corner from there other store front to walk around and get some lunch when we returned the bikes had been stolen and the lock left on the ground. They charged us $800 for the bikes even with insurance. They did not give us new bikes to use and left us to walk all the way back. They have been horrible to deal with. Gave us faulty products and charged us ridiculous amounts for it. They threatened me with not giving me back my id(with I need to fly home). I would never use this company again and would recommend that no one else does either
A great tour through central park and down the East Side then crossing towards and finishing near Brooklyn Bridge. Alex was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable on the history of NY, places to visit, where the movies were made and tons more. Lots of tips on where to spend more time on the rest.of your visit. Thoroughly enjoyable
The walking tour was great! However, they should explain a few things more clearly on the website before people book. First, the park has a lot of stairs/steps and inclines throughout it which makes it more difficult for anyone with a disability or health issue. Second, the tour ends many blocks away from where it began so be prepared to figure out how to get back to where you started. These aren’t really criticisms, but just FYI for people booking a tour. I highly recommend the tour itself.
Please dont use this vendor for a bike ride in Central Park. I paid for my whole family to have bikes and added insurance! Just 10 minutes into our ride I got a flat tire. I called the phone number for help. NO ANSWER. The tire was 100% flat. I had to walk the bike back that took over 35 minutes. My family didnt want to go on with out me so the whole 2 hours was a waste of our limited time in NY. They offer no money back and only a credit in the future. Please avoid this terrible service!
Very nicely managed and efficient onboarding process. Only a couple blocks from Central Park. Our guide, Samantha, was a vivacious and knowledgeable guide with many interesting facts to share along our tour. The ride was peaceful but mildly exerting and felt like a decent workout without being overly strenuous.
BEWARE IF RESERVING CARBON ROAD BIKESMy husband and I planned to do a 100 mile bike ride up the Empire State trail and reserved our bikes at Unlimited Biking through their website. Two days before our reservation I called and spoke with the support team to make sure we had the right materials and were ready for the ride. We purchased our own tire repair kit, multi use tool, etc because they didnt provide those options. We asked for the pedals to be removed so we could use our clip in pedals for the longer ride. They assured us the bike would be ready. We arrived at the Columbus Circle location at 9:15 AM (store opened at 9 AM) and were told the bikes are 10 minutes away. Well... 60 minutes later were still sitting at the pick up location waiting for the bikes to arrive. When they finally arrived, the pedals were still on and the employee had a line of people waiting for their bikes. We asked for the tool and tried to get the pedals off. Seemingly fused to the bikes, the pedals could not be removed. They asked us to ride our bikes to another location where they had more tools and people to help with the pedals. After arriving at the new location, someone spent the next 30 minutes changing our pedals.I took off around the block to make sure my pedals were working properly and thank goodness I did. Halfway around the block my pedal fell out. I walked the bike back to the location and 20 minutes later tried to ride the bike around the block again. Same thing- pedal fell out. Back to the store for adjustments. One final time around the block and the pedal didnt fall out, but it was put on crooked so I knew it would eventually fall out.Over an hour after arriving to the second location we were instructed to go back to the Columbus Circle location to switch out our bikes. We arrived back to Columbus Circle and they didnt have another bike in my size. I had to get one that was smaller. They sent us around the corner to a bike shop to get our pedals put on professionally. Finally after 3.5 hours of back and forth, we were off on our ride.At Columbus Circle, Christina apologized for our experience and said she wanted to make it up to us. She offered to let us keep the bikes overnight, but we had no place to store them nor had any desire to use them the next day. We declined and said wed appreciate further discussion on how to rectify our experience. She said we could discuss when we returned the bikes later that day.Upon our return, we couldnt get the pedals off again and had to walk to the bike shop around the corner for the pedal removal. Christina was not at the location anymore when we returned so I left my phone number asking for a call so we could discuss a resolution to our nightmare experience from the morning. The next day I didnt hear from the company. I called the following day and they asked me to send an email so the solution could be escalated to their management team. I did that. Its now been 10 days since we rented bikes and I had to reach out again for some resolution. They informed me that since we had an all day reservation and had the bikes for 6 hours (not the 10 that we had expected) the company wasnt going to do anything for us.Im a pretty reasonable person and I understand things happen. But to treat your customers like this and then say sorry- were not doing anything for you is just terrible business practice.Id highly suggest someone renting road bikes in NYC go elsewhere.
Took the 2-hour walking tour of Central Park. It was fun and fascinating! The tour guide, Joel ,is a literal walking encyclopedia of lore, trivia, and astute and witty observations. In addition to being a high-level amateur historian, hes a professional actor and native New Yorker. The experience is a bargain. Unforgettable and efficient in that youll a lot of knowledge and entertainment in that 2 hour window. (Youll also get some exercise.) Highly recommend!
One word...Dan. Not only did we learn ALL about Central Park but we were pleasantly entertained by the talented tour guide Dan. He really made the trip worthwhile. Be sure and ask for him. We had a great time! The bikes were in great shape and the booking process was easy. Great job!
Everything’s worked really well. We got the bikes within 10 min, everything was well- organized.Basket and helmet if you want. We rented for 4 hours, which was perfect for the whole Central Park, picknick and 90 min Stopp in the Guggenheim Museum 😀We would recommend it again!
Rented 2 hybrid bikes from Unlimited Biking Central Park. The chain came off of my bike 4 times during the ride around the park. I put the chain back on each time because we had to keep riding to get back to Unlimited Biking. I was covered in grease afterwards and had an awful ride because so much of it was interrupted. Due to their no refund policy, Unlimited Biking refuses to give us a refund, even though the policy should apply to bikes that are RIDEABLE. I do not recommend.
This company was just amazing! My husband and I hired a bike each for 2 hours from here and it was such a great experience. Weve hired bikes in many different countries, but this was THE best company weve dealt with. The sign up process was simple and straightforward and the person was very nice, kind and quick to go through the details. We purchased the additional insurance for a few extra dollars to have peace of mind. It was well worth it because the bikes are REALLY nice, and would be very expensive to fix or replace. 2 hours gave us a good amount of time to ride around the whole track and also make stops for all the sights. Highly recommended!
I took the 4pm bike tour of central park with Dan who was awesome, easy going. Taking the bike tour really made me feel comfortable in NYC on a bicycle which I would not have done on my own. Afterward I realized how much fun it was to get around on a bike in NYC so I rode the whole central park again and because I did that and had so much fun I decided to ride a bike all the way back to my hotel. Next time I am here I will definitely rent a bike for the full day if not several from unlimited biking, best way to get around the city. And thank you Dan for an awesome tour!!
I needed a last minute bike and i was able to reserve one online and sign the waiver with zero hassle while I walked there from central park. Christi and Shawn?(? i hope i remembered their names correctly? ) went above and beyond and were very very nice and helpful. The ease and friendliness made the experience great and it resulted in a fun day filled with unforgettable memories.
Long queues waiting for getting a bike. Whats more timing gets clicking once you check in and then you have to wait for someone to return a bike because they dont have enough for everybody, meaning they are charging you for time you are not using their service. Avoid.
We rode with Dan on 09/30/21, Dan made our experience unforgettable! He knew tons of facts about Central Park and history of New York and cracked jokes with us along the way! It was amazing! Would highly recommend to anyone. We are a family of 6 and it was terrific!!! Thank you, Dan!
We paid for a 2 hour biking experience and had a BALL! The team at UB Central Park was fast, friendly, and excited to know our experience was so good. The fee was affordable and the bikes were durable . First time visiting Central Park and well be back to see the UB team for another bike tour.
Dan was our guide for the Central Park tour and he was amazing, professional and informative! The renting and gear-up process was super smooth. We had a great time biking in the park. I definitely would recommend Unlimited Biking to anyone who’d like to explore Central Park!
We had an amazing time biking through Central Park! We worked with Hasan. He was great! There were 5 of us plus a baby and he was super friendly and patient. He took the time to get us all the equipment and bikes we needed. He let us leave our stroller at the shop which was so convenient. Give Hasan a raise! The shop is very close to Central Park we just walked our bikes on the sidewalk to the park. Also we recommend Pops Pizza across the street it is delicious!
My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience! We just moved to the city a few days ago and wanted to learn a bit more about the city. Our tour guide Eddie was very informative, friendly, and respectful. Great storytelling and well worth the money and time. Highly recommend Eddie!
Brillaint easy bike hire. Had the NYC card/pass allowing free rentals from here, so we were able to get a bike within about 10 mins. No problems at all with the bike, lovely views (and some good tips on where to go). Friendly staff and easy bike return too. Overall a really smooth experience.
Due to covid the Dutch tour didn’t take place but the rental of the bikes went smooth, we had the NYC pass, very friendly staff and good bikes. We cycled through the Central Park, along the Hudson to the Edge and then to Bryant park and Rockefeller Center, the Rock. Thanks so much!
We rented a bicycle for our group but the bike they gave my husband had a loose screw. We rode into Central Park and the whole mechanism came off. We took it back and we had to pay$50 for the repair. Their bikes are no good. If they’re going to be renting bikes out...they need to check every bike before we rent them. My husband could had fallen and broken his neck because of their faulty bike. Horrible experience!!!😡
I was given a bike that was not set up properly and almost really hurt me. I was riding pretty quickly and shifted gears accordingly and the shifting mechanism moved too far and got caught up in the wheel causing the bike to skid to a stop. I had to walk the bike back and instead of getting an apology, I was charged over $70 to fix it. Zero integrity and they don’t stand behind their maintenance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They said it was my fault since I didn’t check the bike thoroughly prior to riding. There are plenty of other good rental places around. STEER CLEAR!
We did the Central Park bike tour with Dan and we had a fantastic time! Dan was very informative and a great tour guide. He made sure we were all together and biked at a good pace. Which meant a lot to us because my husband and I haven’t rode bikes in over 10 years. My husband had the ebike and he loved it.
Dan was a exceptional guide. Just the right about of pace, stops, information and was super chill about answering any questions. Great view of Central Park and their bike shop is pretty close to the south end so it was a snap to get going. The gang at the shop have a good system though it can be congested at times... just a little patience and it’s all good. You’ll need to leave them some photo ID as part of the rental.
The walking tour of Central Park is a failure and not worth your time or money. The guide was talking very fast and more staging a one man show rather than providing for a leisurely, informative exploration of the park. Forget about the guide and just stroll around Central Park on your own, it will be much more enjoyable and pleasant to savour the quietness and atmosphere on your own. We left the tour after 20 minutes and did not regret it for a second!
I had an amazing experience with Unlimited Biking. The bikes are in great condition, the person who helped me at the store was nice, and tour guide too.We went to Central Park, and I really enjoyed the experience! I was a little scared in the beginning, but after 5 minutes I got so comfortable I didn’t want it to end.I recommend exploring the city in a bike, especially if you can go with guided tour. And if you do so, Unlimited Biking is the perfect place to get it.
Had a fantastic tour of Central Park. Our guide Dan was great. Gave a lot of cool info and made it enjoyable with fun facts and high energy. The pace seemed good for all the riders. He was conciensous of our safety. He was also very welcoming to all the people in our group, from areas all over the world, by knowing a few phrases in many different languages. As well, he had a unique way of relating NYC to the global community. The bikes were in good condition. Check in was easy and welcoming. Pick up was a bit disorganized but we got it done. Thanks!
Im very happy to report that the bike we got from Unlimited Biking was just the best. So nice and so easy to deal with them as well. Very very knowledgeable people who clearly just love bikes. They gave us a great price and we had a great time seeing Central Park and a little bit more Manhattan.
My family and I booked the Central Park bike tour on Sunday. Our daughter wasn’t big enough to ride the children’s bike but they were able to accommodate us and attached a tagalong to my bike. We were also given all of the necessary equipment like baskets, locks, and maps. The bikes are well maintained and the shop is nice too. We bought some of their cute New York bicycle shirts after the ride as souvenirs.
My best friend and I booked a bike tour for Valentines Day and had a wonderful time learning about Central Parks rich history (and that of its millionaire/billionaire neighbours, too). Our tour guide, Dan, was insightful, engaging, and knowledgeable. You can tell from the start that he is passionate about New York City and about giving tours to its patrons. He offered to take photos at each stop, invited participants to bike with him near the front of the group to chat about the city, and was quick to offer advice about hidden gems and the best spot for bagels.Im planning to return to Unlimited Biking for more tours with Dan -- its perfect for Mothers or Fathers Day, a sweet date in the city, or getting to know your own backyard. Thank you, Dan!
Great place to see the city in a fun and interactive way! My wife and I purchased a Central Park tour through them and they were so nice, friendly and helpful from picking up the bikes to the tour with our SUPER awesome tour guide, Alex. The day we went was rainy and cloudy but Alex was still happy, helpful and cheery the whole time. Great experience and great way to see and learn about Central Park.
Simply the best way to see NYC. Went on a cycle tour of Central Park with the awesome tour guide Damian. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I wish that this had been the first activity on our trip as he suggested so many other great things to see and do whilst in the city. The bikes were great and the staff were friendly. I will use this company again and wouldnt hesitate to recommend Damian and Unlimited Biking.
We rented three bikes. The bike rental included the bikes for 3 hours, so we had a lot of time. The bikes are in good condition and comfortable to ride. The guy in the shop was excellent; he very was very friendly, helpful and informative. He showed us some great routes so that we would see all the sights throughout Central Park.
I rented bikes with my friends from the Central Park store for the weekend. We were given maps that guided us through Central Park, Hudson River, and Harlem so we could do our tour. It was nice to be able to go at our own pace, have lunch, take pics, and do a little shopping. The gave us baskets and attached it to the front of our bikes and a lock for when we decided to stop. The bikes are in excellent condition and they are super high quality cannondale bikes. We also did the bike transfer to the Hudson location when we finished.
I had an amazing time visiting NYC with my family. We decided to take a Central Park tour and Joel was our guide. He’s a great guide and very knowledgeable. The bikes are nice and new! They have cannondale bikes that are the best quality. The staff is on point and the store is in a great location too. Highly recommmend!
Last week, we joined a 2 hours biking tour in the Central Park, New York - one of the best things we did during our 5 days stay in New York. Everything was perfect, especially our tour guide Andrew who was very alert to take care of our whole group of 9 persons, gave very good explanations of the various sights and was a very sympathetic guy. We can strongly recommend to everybody to do such a biking tour - in our view it is a Must!
I was only visiting New York City for 2 days and I didnt want to rent a car. I didnt have ant real professional needs just wanted to see some sights so I rented a bike in Manhattan from this wonderful little shop. They were super nice and they were very flexible with their hours and their services. I saw a ton of sights and I had a great time riding bikes around the city. Very easy to return the bike as well which is not always the case with bike rental shops here in NYC.
Awesome cannondale bikes! They are the best!!! I really enjoyed my tour of Central Park. My guide was was fun and very knowledgeable about the park. It was a great was to spend the day exploring part of NYC. The checkin was easy since we booked in advance and the staff was really nice.
We rented bikes from here to ride through Central Park. The location was not very convenient to the park and when we called to confirm, no one answered the phone. The bikes were not great. My daughters bike seat kept falling down, which made it difficult to ride. The basket on my bike broke when we were halfway through Central Park. Given that we were heading back, we just kept going, however, it made us go over our reservation time. When we explained the problems, the attendant said we should have called. I doubt they would have answered. We got charged for an extra hour due to the delay. I would suggest going somewhere else with better equipment and friendlier service. Would not recommend.
Unlimited Biking was a fun bike rental shop to rent bikes to ride into Central Park. I am glad I chose to do the bike tour because the tour guide told the group so many things about New York City and Central Park that I would have never known. It was also fun talking to a real New Yorker along with all the other people taking the tour that were from all over the world. Also, as an avid cyclst, dont expect to get a workout but just have a fun ride. I was surprised to see that we rode Cannondale gravel grinding bikes with disc brakes. They were not race bikes but much better than I expected from a bike rental shop.
Great prices and great bikes. Had a great time riding through Central Park. All was great. Staff is cool from register to the guy who sets u up on the bike. On my way out I took to pictures of the inside of the store. Some girl from the back of the store made me delete the fotos. So you all get no pics of just a regular bike rental store. She said it was a security issue. Guess they dont want the competition to see how many bikes they have haha. Either way i still gave 5 stars.
Unlimited Biking is conveniently located at the SE corner of Central Park. It’s across the street from Benihanna, if you have trouble trying to find it, plus it’s hard to miss all of the bikes in front! I’ve rented bikes, been on tours, and I know they offer so much more. I can easily say they have the best bikes you can rent in the entire city. They have new Cannondale bikes the are sleek and lightweight, unlike the ones that you get when you rent one of the City Bikes that are kinda heavy and clunky. There’s definitely a huge difference so if you’re planning on biking a lot or want to take one of the tours, opt for theirs because it’s much more enjoyable. You can also get a basket attached to the front of your bike to put your belongings at no extra charge.Last time I was in NYC, two of my friends and I decided to take a private pedicab tour around Central Park with one of their guides, Chengo. He is by far the most knowledgeable tour guide I’ve had and he’s such a funny, delightful person. He brought us to some amazing hidden gems off the beaten path in the park that were great photo opportunities! He has some really cool ideas and is great about helping you capture those special moments. You won’t regret choosing him and this type of tour!Next time I visit, I’m going to try the horseback riding in Central Park. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Will definitely be using Unlimited Biking next time were in the city. We visit about twice a year and were always looking for fun things to do with the kids. This time that was renting bikes and taking pores of New York City. They offer awesome little bike tours not just rentals so definitely recommend this to anybody who has kids.
My wife and I rented bikes for the day from their Central Park location off and we ended our ride around the Harlem location. It was getting late in the day to bring them back to the Central Park location but we were able to do a really easy bike transfer and drop them off at their Harlem location. We had a great time exploring and the multiple drop off locations are super handy. The bikes are definitely the best ones around. They have new Cannondale bikes that made our day long adventure a lot more enjoyable.
Worth the time. Dan was funny and knowledgeable. He knew which celebrities lived where currently and in the past. Plenty stops at certain sites and water fountains throughout. I loved being able to bike around and be led to see all we could in 2 hours. Otherwise, it’s so big that we wouldn’t know where to go! Definitely would recommend for a New York visit in Central Park!
Update: Unlimited Biking Team has been great. They put extra effort to solve my issue. On top of that they provided some extras to keep me happy. To be honest I couldn’t have expected anything more. Best company I have interacted with in my whole life.*************Original review:I ordered a Cannondale bicycle online 10 days ago. I received the delivery last night. Unfortunately bike came with no wheels, no seat post, no seat, no pedals...I’m not sure what else is missing. Contacted Unlimited Biking via chat, email and phone and explained the issue provided photos. I was told to wait 1-2 business days for them to get back to me.I’m hoping they will resolve this issue. But I’m beyond frustrated. I also went to the local bike shop for seeking advice. They said “We told you so! Don’t buy bicycle online!”.UPS is also telling me that they can’t help which I understand.I guess I won’t consider buying bike online ever again.I will update this review once I hear back from Unlimited Biking. Fingers crossed 🤞
Saw a deal on groupon and the reviews on the groupon deal were great. The entire staff was professional upon pickup and drop off. We paid for the insurance ($2 per bike) and it still only cost about $10/hr for bike rental which to us wasnt bad. We took the bikes and went around Central Park. We were able to make it around in 2 hours, but we didnt really stop much.
We chose this location, as it was close to the park but not as busy as the closer location. Went inside and was told the cost would be $60 for two bikes, two helmets and a lock. Because we presented a discount card given to us by a woman on the street, the cost was much less! Staff was friendly and the bikes worked well. By far the best way to see Central Park. You can explore the entire park in a day and then walk to specific areas that are off limits to bikes. Highly recommend renting a bike to see the park and I recommend renting from here!
We chose this location as it was close to the park. Went inside and was told the cost would be less than we thought for two bikes, two helmets and a lock. Staff was friendly and the bikes worked well. By far the best way to see Central Park. You can explore the entire park in a day and then walk to specific areas that are off limits to bikes. Highly recommend a Central Park Bike Rental to see the park and recommend renting from Unlimited Biking.
Great tour with Joel. Walking around Central Park can be daunting. Its huge, easy to get lost and has so much to talk about. Its tough to navigate solo in my opinion.Joel gave a fantastic tour. Nice tempo, well polished. It had history, pop culture, stats and provided a framework for talking about the park and how it developed with the city.I found this tour on free tours by foot and used their promo code to get 15% off. The tour without the promo is totally worth it. Do yourself a favor and have a guide walk you through the park.
I grew up in California where we ride bikes all the time especially where I was from in San Francisco. I was a little bummed when I move to New York to find out that most people dont really ride bikes. Thats why I got so excited when I found Unlimited Biking who are really making biking call again in my opinion. They put together these really interesting outings and I have been able to organize a number of fun sightseeing events all based around by again. Great to be back on the bike again with friends and even better to do it here in New York.
Scam! Scam! Scam! These people decided to give me a faulty bike a few minutes into my trip it broke, So I called them and then they told “ok, no problem we will come get you a new bike “- got the new bike all good. After 1:30hrs ride -going back to their shop saying that they must charge me $75 for a broken derailleur . After 5 minutes of talking to them they told me “ohh actually you broke the hanger so we going to charge you $40 for the damages “saying that “that’s out policy ! “ You didn’t buy the insurance “!Oh suddenly the part that broke change to something else.....HOWEVER we didn’t have any accidents we were just walking the chain fall of the bike! After going back and forth and arguing about bikes mechanics ....The woman in the front desk told me it’s OK you’re good to go bye! - 10min after leaving their store I get a invoice for $40!They charged my card without my consent! Be aware !
I did the roller blades rental which was lovely. The equipment was all in good shape and the staff were helpful. Its a bit of a walk to Central park, but not too bad. My only complaint would be in the communication on my booking, it did not include the name unlimited biking, so I wasnt sure I was in the right spot when I first got there.
At 65 its really hard sometimes to find activities that are not too stressful for us. But we do like to stay in shape so we decided to try renting bikes in Central Park. We love finding this awesome little company called Unlimited Biking. They made the entire experience very easy for us and offered bike tours that range in difficulty from very tough to very easy for people like us.
I did the Central Park tour as part of the New York explorer pass. The place is hectic and everything feels very rushed, the ladies at check in are very friendly but the $1.99 additional insurance they practically force on you (card only - no cash) is a rip-off. Why cant that be included? Our tour guide Damian was very nice and showed us around the park. He has great stories and gives it a nice personal touch. He was very helpful with other tips about sightseeing in New Yorkand seemed genuinely passionate about making sure youre having a good time. Overall I enjoyed the tour but the actual base is hectic and obviously just designed to get as many people through as possible.
Last year I paid this company rental fees for two bikes to enable my daughter and myself to participate in the 5 Boro Bike Tour. However, after waiting in line for 2 hours at the pickup location on the morning of the Tour, we were informed that all the bikes were gone. I had traveled to New York from Atlanta to participate in the Tour. Waiting in the line with us was a family of four that had traveled from London to participate. While I was able to cancel the credit card charge for the bikes, Unlimited Biking ignored by request for reimbursement of the registration fees I had paid for the Tour. Indeed, they never have even offered me the courtesy of an apology. These people should not be allowed to remain in business.
We were spending a week in NYC in December and got the New York Pass which includes biking or a walking tour of Central Park. We went earlier in the week to do the walking tour but as the app says the walking tour is Daily 9am we misunderstood that to mean all day starting at 9 but of course it meant the only tour was AT 9. That was our fault so we came back a few days later to find that they werent doing the walking tour because it was too cold but asked us if we wanted to do the biking tour leaving in 5 mins. I do not understand how someone who says its too cold to do a Walking tour would still do a bike tour. Additionally they offered us a guided bike tour where someone else bikes for us for 20% off which was still over 100 dollars as its not included with the pass. It honestly felt like someone just didnt want to bother walking in the cold so they cancelled it despite offering all their other services.
We had such a wonderful private Bike tour with the tour manager Bob.We visited all the super locations from Central Park , through Harlem , down the Hudson River. We received fantastic tips for galleries , small caffees and inside on history and architecture.Highly recommended !
Had the pleasure of being a part of the cpwt this morning (9:00). Our guide was Joel....from before the tour started he was making everyone feel comfortable by chatting with each tour guest and throughout the tour he not only provided all of us with amazing stories and history of NY but did so in a charming and light-hearted way. He kept all of us interested and kept me wanting to learn more. When the tour was over....his attention to each individual person in the group was unmatched with other tours Ive experienced. He took the time to answer questions not only during the tour but when the journey came to an end, he took extra time and personally made sure we were set with upcoming agendas, directions, suggestions - whatever we needed before moving on. Hats off to Joel and thank you for an amazing experience! 👍🗽
Booked late in the day and managed to get a little lost. Okay, alot. Ended up lost in Harlem and running late to return the bike to W56th Street on the other side of the park. A quick call letting them know and eventually arrived to the amazing Katie who was so not stressed (unlike me...), with a smile she helped us return the bikes and we were on our way.Cant recommend enough.
Staff were friendly and happy to help. Initial service may have been a bit rushed has we weren’t explained any of the bikes brakes/moving parts etc we know how to ride but still) Bike lock, basket and helmet are provided which is a bonus and there is a small $2 ish insurance you can cover the bike with. They are situated a few blocked back from Central Park which just means you need to walk the bike (if you don’t want to ride on the road) through a few crowds but otherwise easy as.We used this company as part of the NYC Pass which allows an included all day rental
Did a two hour tour of Central Park on 4th June. Our tour guide was Daniel who was very knowledgeable and always had time to answer questions and was all round top guy, he also looked like Lou Reed so we liked him straight away. I can highly recommend this tour, it really was a great way to spend a couple of Hours.
I rented a road bike from here and it worked out really well. Basheir and the team were very friendly and helped me plan a great route around Central Park and across to the greenaway cycle lane by the Hudson. They even took a lot of time to set up the bike to the pedal type and saddle height that worked best for me. Would definitely go back there again.
Great service and very polite staff, the bikes were very used so not that super fun to ride with. One of the bikes we had broke uts break by using it downhill which made if pretty dangerous but we managed to fix it ourselves soon after, nobody was hurt as it only broke after breaking for a while. Another downside is that you have to walk through the city to be abke to bike in Central Park.
Took my daughter out for the day renting bikes in Central Park. She had so much fun seeing all the sides and having her own bike for the day. Will definitely be taking her out again as long as the weather is good next week and I will definitely be using Unlimited Biking.
Great tour off the park. Our guide Chuck was wonderful. Lots of info and a nice guy.The place is busy so come early. We had the 9am tour, but at 11am it was crowded. The Dutch tour was fully booked, but the English was fine.Als je een Nederlands sprekende tour guide wil, zorg dat je er vroeg bent!Highly recommend.
Great bike rental for our family of 4 last saturday. Quick check in, all inclusive (helmet, locker, map), very good bikes for my daughters aged 10 and 12 and a nice « bike for 2 » ( don’t remember the name, something like « long bike ») for me and the youngest aged 6. Many thanks to the great staff for warm welcoming and taking care of everything to that we really enjoyed our rental. Even if the weather was quite changing, it was pure pleasure to bike on our own in Central Park. We will come back.Sebastien (from France)
This companies process from booking the reservation, getting the equipment, and returning it, is extremely streamlined. I’m really impressed with how well they do it. I’ve rented bikes from here several times and I’ve done a few of the tours. Great bikes and super helpful staff!
I went in here pretty much by accident. However, the lady there, Daniella was her name I believe, was super helpful. She was friendly, professional and very sweet. Super knowledgeable of New York, especially places to visit in the park and recommended a good place to get cupcakes. Would visit again, thanks to her :)
I would not recommend their bikes. Attention to maintenance is poor.Unlimited Biking handled bicycle rentals for the Tour de Bronx this year (2018), which was a great option to have since they brought the bikes to the start, and were there at the end for drop off. The setup definitely beats renting from a shop for an event like this. The bike, however, was in horrible need of a tune-up. It was a decent bicycle that otherwise rode well, but the gears constantly slipped for the entire ride. The rear derailleur slipped every two turns of the crank, and the front derailleur failed to successfully shift half the time. This sort of ride having a large mass start, it was impractical to try to turn back to the bike rental tent, and since the bike was still rideable, ended up riding 40 miles with constantly slipping gears. At the finish, when I told the guy about the bad gears, he seemed surprised, thanked me for renting with them, and put the bikes with the others without checking the gears or flagging it in any way.I highly doubt they tune all bikes before each ride, so unfortunately someone else will probably be riding the same impaired bike soon after.
If you have kids and live here in New York you know how hard it can be sometimes to find something different for them to do. Theres plenty of things in the city but a lot of them arent super kid-friendly. Luckily renting bikes and driving around Central park is the perfect family activity. We found Unlimited Biking through a friend who also does the same thing with their kids and it is now definitely going to be part of our routine.
Rented from here for the second year to ride the 40 mile five Boro tour. The customer service with these guys is exceptional. Personalized service and really went above and beyond. Shout out to Katie for taking care of everything. Definitely rent from these guys if you get a chance.
I was riding to bear mountain and got a flat, so I changed it and kept going. On the way back down got another flat. This caused me to be late to bring the bike back. Katie stayed open to collect the bike about 30 minutes after close. She didnt charge me for being late with the bike and was super cool.
If I could give 10 stars I would.Well organized and knowledge staff.Arrived with explorer pass that wasn’t set up on my phone as yet due to explorer pass not sending me information. After talking with explorer pass rep on phone she want me to go to Times Square to have it rectified which would have been very inconvenient.Kattie from unlimited biking immediately said it did make sense and began calling to fix my issue. With in minutes she had a new confirmation email send to me that allowed me to receive my passes on the go city app. With out Kattie we would have wasted hours. Again just went beyond her duties to help a customer out.Bikes worked perfectly for my family of 5 (youngest is 7 and they had a bike to fit her)Great way to see Central Park.
My students and I rented 23 bikes from Unlimited Biking with Central Park Sightseeing at 56 W. 26th St. New York, MY. Heres how our experience went:1. Katie, the manager, texted me the wrong address. We ended up 4 blocks away from the store and late for our reservation.2. One of the bike had a chain that came loose as soon as my student got on. He fixed it himself.3. 5 minutes in, One of the bikes had bad breaks and My student fell off her bike. I had my entire group wait since I am in charge of all of their safety. We tried to fix the breaks but couldnt and we called Katie She said they would have to walk the bike back and get a new one, so my husband and the student (who cried the whole way back) went back to the store.4. We started to leave the park in plenty of time, but 2 more bikes wouldnt stop switching gears and my kids kept falling off. I stopped the whole group again to try to fix it, but couldnt.5. My husband called 11 minutes before our hour was up and said they were not going to give us any extended time even though it was the broken bikes that held us up. At this point I asked my only other adult to go on with the kids whos bikes were still working and I walked with the 2 other students.6. I arrived at 5:12 and the man outside checking the bikes was still collecting all of my students wrist bands and writing the time on them. Everyone one in my group was there by 5:12.7. I went inside to speak to Katie who was rude and short with me immediately, before I even said anything defensive. She said she didnt charge me for 6 bikes on overtime but since my group wasnt all back by 5:15, she was charging me for the rest of them. Please keep in mind she refused to tell my husband that we could have an extend time to get back. And we were definitely 100% back before 5:15.I am a frequent visitor to the city. My student perform in Carnegie Hall at leave once every 2 years. I Do a lot of research and organizing for these trips and in my 10 years as a teacher, Ive never had such a terrible experience. These kids worked hard to get here and the trip costs a lot of money. Thus was supposed to be an affordable, fun experience. It turned into the opposite because we were given broken bikes. Katie kept saying the bikes were new. The broken bikes had 2016 on them. They were not new.My students should not have to pay more money because we were given broken bikes.
This place rent you low maintenanced bike and charge you 30 dollars when it broke saying this is your fault cause you dont taked insurance.i rented a bike with my new york pass and after 20 minutes of normal utilisation the chain broked.they offered no assistance to return the bike at the shop.i had to walk with the bike crossing all central park.Congratulations you have found the best way to treat your clients.Maybe they reserve this treatement only to new york pass client ?i dont knnow !
Fantastic service. From when you pick up the bike to when its dropped off they make you feel valued. My bike broke down and they helped me out and replaced it. Been to other locations and did not get the same service. If you plan to rent come to this location the staff is amazing
Very bad experience. We rented the bike with locks etc... We took an extra insurance. We locked our bike on the regular bikeplaces. When we came back the locker was cut andere the bike was stolen. We had tot pay 400 dollar !!! They should provider locks which cannot be cut. So be careful!!!
Stopped to help a girl who had crashed her bike and was disoriented and separated from her group. Called the bike shop right after to inform them we would probably be late but were on our way back. Ended up returning 20 minutes late and was still charged $20. Glad to know this company advocates safety and being a Good Samaritan. Would not recommend.
My nephew was so excited to ride a bike for the first time but they gave us a broken bike and then when I brought it back the only thing they said was we are sorry and a 50% off coupon card for next visit. My wife and nephew did not get to ride the broken bicycle. They did not give me a refund. The bike dispatcher was also rude.
Wanted to get on guided tour 11 am today with NY Explorer pass. Arrived 10.30 and asked several employees where to line up for tour. They just referred to 1 line saying that we should get in the line. Arriving upon desk they told us that a tour wasnt possible anymore at 11.00 but only later on... since it was our last we couldnt make it later that day. Why not have 2 lines? 1 for day rental and 1 for tours? Not clear or efficiënt. No signs or info about tours being sold out.. so warning: be there in time or ask specificaly if tour is not sold out
My friend came for the 5 Boro bike ride. Poor staff was so unprepared. Her pedal fell off, brakes rubbed and tires not fully inflated. We were fortunate to get to trade bikes and only missed 1/4 of the ride. Others from around the country never did get their bikes. Feel badly for the poor staff and disappointed customers
I just want to say that this company went above and beyond to help me when I lost my phone on one of the tours. Their staff was able to help bring me back through the park while using find my iPhone on their phone. I can’t tell you thanks enough so I thought I’d share this with the google community. 🙏🏻 There’s nothing worse than losing your phone especially while on vacation.
Badly maintained and potentially DANGEROUS bikes and indifferent staff. Our last day in NY was ruined, my wife could have been seriously injured and this company refused all responsibility or even a refund. AVOID at all costs as you may end up seriously out of pocket as we did and possibly even in hospital. I have only given 1 star because I cant leave zero!
Hired some bikes here in January 2020. We hired 2 bikes for 4 hours. i was going to get a bike via a groupon coupon, but this shop matched the groupon price when asked. its just 1 block from central park and a lovely lady greated us, we got the Locks & a basket for free. (Tip: defo take out the 4$ insurance)We passed the place we where originally where going to hire from in the park & our bikes where much better quality, so we made the right choice. The bikes where great, but we did get a puncture quite near the end but this happens quite alot i belive. We where almost heading back anyways so didnt bother to call them out. We had a great trip round central park and going by pushbike really made it special.
Me and my boyfriend hank had a fabulous time I couldn’t have asked for more first we went on a pedi cab around Central Park and that was great 1 me and hank had a great and knowledgeable tour guide and then we did a horse carriage ride and that was so romantic and so fun I would highly recommend they have terrific service

2022-01-10Dan was the absolute best tour guide ever and gave us an incredible tour of Central Park. We were a group of seven girls and he made sure we all felt comfortable riding our bikes through the park. We did not stop laughing for the entire two hours and were able to not only ride through the park, but learn the history of it and fun facts about New York and movies that were filmed throughout the park. Dan took pictures and videos of us throughout the entire tour and even had us recreate the snowball fight from the movie Elf! This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we were able to create memories that we will cherish forever! Thank you Dan for such an amazing day that we will never forget!

2022-01-10We had the absolute BEST time on the bike tour of Central Park with Dan. We were a large group of seven girls and he made sure we all felt comfortable, we’re always having fun, and we’re able to see the highlights of Central Park. He took pictures and videos throughout the entire tour and let us take a few breaks to see all of the monuments and film locations the park had to offer. This was not only the highlight of our entire trip to the city, it was the best bang for your buck as well. We will definitely be taking this tour again if we find ourselves in the city and again, cannot recommend Dan enough!!! Thank you for a fabulous day and memories we will cherish forever!

2022-06-02Dan was my group guide and he was great! I was actually traveling alone the day I joined the tour, yet felt completely comfortable. The bike tour was just right for seeing the park for the first time. Our group included a variety of ages and abilities, and Dan was really great to make sure everyone had a good time.

2022-04-21We had an excellent tour of Central Park with Dan. The pace was great, his knowledge was excellent and he took the time to ensure that everyone was involved. It was a great way to cover the whole 6+ miles of the park. If you can stand (or sit really 😉) the 2 hours on the bike, I would highly recommend this as a great way to see the park.

2021-11-09We had an exceptional experience with Lee on our 2 hour bike tour through Central Park. Central Park is gorgeous but huge and can seem overwhelming but Lee was just the person to help us navigate this majestic place. He was super informative, an excellent story teller and wittingly funny. He even took the time to refer us to difference places around nyc after the tour was over. The 2 hours flew by and we felt like we got more than our moneys worth. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

2022-07-01Tour was ok, wasnt worth the money. I hoped we would get more information about park. I would not do bike guided tours. Most bikes had shifting issues. Citibikes worked better, very unexpected.

2022-03-16We recently did a walking tour of Central Park with Unlimited Biking and the Go City Pass. Joel was a fabulous tour guide. He was funny, entertaining, and informative. I felt like we got a comprehensive tour of the park in the 2 hour time period and had the opportunity to see all the areas we had hoped for. I would recommend this tour for sure!

2021-08-24My wife and I had a wonderful tour of Central Park with Unlimited Biking Central Park on a warm humid day. Carla was an excellent guide and set a pace which was easy for everyone to keep up with. She led on a route that was not too challenging in terms of climbs. If you want to even erase climbing struggles, spend just a few more dollars to rent an e-bike. From what I could see they maintain thie equipment well. Carla was knowledgeable and pleasant and very open to questions. Definitely the best way to get introduced to Central Park. Thank you Carla and UBCP!
