Upstate Imports Auto Repair in other cities:
Great diagnosis on my 2001 Passat electrical problem. They took the time to ensure they narrowed down the issue so we werent throwing parts at it hoping for positive results. I feel the prices we very reasonable for a shop who specializes in imports. They won my return business.
I really enjoyed the service until one day I was given an extremely overpriced quote for replacing my bushings on my Saab. The store gave me a quote of $1200+ for replacing my front and rear bushings and claimed that it was an extremely hard process (Mind that the car is not worth $3000). Anyways, a few months later took the car to another shop and got my bushings replaced for about $495. Great service and experience on Saab but be careful with their quotes.
Jeff at Upstate performed a major engine out upgrade to my Porsche including a complicated modification of the transmission. He was extremely thorough and did a perfect job. I felt his price was fair and will plan on using his shop for any work going forward. I cant recommend him or his shop highly enough. Nice work!
I have been a customer at Upstate for several years and if giving 6 stars were possible, I would give the shop a 6. Nice people, fair prices and all of the mechanics are top notch. Im not a mechanic but Ive owned BMWs long enough to know a quality repair shop when I encounter one and Upstate certainly meets all of the criteria. Besides that, the personalize your experience so if a customer asks a question via email, they will take the time to respond in detail.Upstate has a 5 star rating from all of the review sites like this one for a reason. Thats very difficult to achieve, especially for a car repair shop. Do yourself (and your car and wallet) a favor, call Upstate and make an appointment.
I purchased a 1991 classic Alfa Romeo, Spider convertible recently, from out-of-state. When it was delivered to me, I noticed immediately that the speedometer and odometer did not work. I called Upstate Imports and spoke with Justin about the problem. His crew searched throughout the U.S. for the part(s) they needed and couldnt locate any. Finally, they had to order parts from England. I was extremely pleased with the outstanding service they performed on my classic vehicle. I recommend them highly, you will not be disappointed with their quality of work and their highly skilled staff.
Multiple shops looked at my car, and had no idea what was wrong. I was told it could have been everything from valve gaskets to turbo wastegates or a bad engine and was told it needed to be replaced. 3 days here they solved the problem and fixed it in a cost effective manner and kept me updated throughout the process I would highly recommended (and I do) and I’ll definitely be back for future repairs.
The most friendly staff and professional work in CNY! They take good care of your vehicle, never over charge, and theres a friendly professional atmosphere when you walk in. The most honest, respectable, caring repair shop Ive ever gone to. I just cant say enough! Theyre amazing!
I was visiting the area of the holidays, when my low beam stopped working the night before Christmas. The day after Christmas, they took me in immediately and all were excellent, professional and friendly. Chris explained what was wrong and what hed have to do to correct the problem, which took only a short time and I was back on the road again. Id give them ten stars if I could for their taking such great care of my car and myself.
Upstate Imports Auto Repair LLC is a very good, reliable business. I am a car person and I own 6 vehicle. I was referred to Upstate Imports and I found them to be upfront and trustworthy. Having a imported car repaired is expensive, but Upstate Imports gave me a reasonable price and got the job done when they said they would, and it has always cost me less then they said it would..Great business.
Quick fix needed, smooth go as alwaysIve been a customer of Upstate Imports for 5 years and am happy I decided to have all the work needed on our BMW and Mercedes performed by the capable technicians at this shop. Doug Paye, in particular, knows both vehicles inside and out, but in addition, has taken the time to get to know me as a customer. Doug and the staff, in this instance Justin Henty, will take the time to listen to a customer, respond quickly with a solution and complete the work promptly and professionally. Im in my sixties and can remember when customer service was more than just a slogan. That kind of old fashioned customer care can still be found with the staff and techs at Upstate Imports.
Very nice shop, clean and organized. Everyone is knowledgeable. My only complaint was the location. Pretty far from where I live but they fixed that by opening one in Syracuse on Erie Blvd. I have used their services for large and small jobs. I have not yet used the new location but had a great experience at their Baldwinsville location.
I am thoroughly shocked, disgusted, and dissatisfied beyond belief on this place that calls itself a business. I own a custom Jaguar, and recently needed my yearly inspection. I received my car back with the following:-50+ miles on my car I DID NOT drive-Music blaring on a rock music station-A/C blasting & sunroof down-Seats pushed all the way back and folded down in the laying position-Grease ALL OVER my custom leather seats.... The list goes on and on. (I have a valet camera in my car and have proof of ALL of this, plus more!)I not only called the Better Business Bureau, but I have vowed to never, EVER come back to this business again. The main reason I wrote this review was to warn each and every car owner of this business. I hope this never happens to you and your vehicle, because this was my worst nightmare.
This place is expensive. Last yr brought our audi tt to this place to have the cooling system replaced cause its a recreational vehicle got the car bk after $300 the car has over heated and when i called this place they were rude and told me that they were supposed to replace cooling system but were not told to replace the thermostat which anyone knows that that is part of the cooling system any back yard mechanic would know this. Also took the car today to another dealer which auto imports quoted $1800 for a fix that we got today for $700. Quality manufacture parts were used no corners were cut like the thermostat was. Never ever will i go back to this place again not even for my daughters bicycle!!!! Will stick with our new mechanic who is professional had to give a star to this place if i could i wouldnt have givin ot any stars..btw to the owner it was an audi tt 2001 and it was my fiancés car it was under his name and it needed the cooling system replaced.
I wanted to give a shout out to Jeff and his crew for the outstanding work & service they did on my Ferrari Jeff is trustworthy honest & knowledgeable, prices are very reasonable & will not take advantage of his customers, top notch establishment.thank you for your service.Dino Petrera.
Upstate Imports is a thoroughly professional and friendly repair shop. Our Saab is approaching 250,000 miles and, in this post-Saab world, the credit fully belongs to Upstate Imports. We drive 35 miles to have them work on the Saab. By the way, the conditions described in the single 1-star review Upstate has received are so opposite of way these folks operate that, in my opinion, the review could not possibly be real or honest!
I was in from out of town (South Carolina) and had a problem with my Jaguar SUV. These guys had me in and out in no time and couldnt have been nicer....A class act to say the least!....Thanks for the great treatment without having an appointment......Semper Fi....Jim Becker

2021-09-23Bought my first Mercedes Benz recently, a 2009 SLK 300. I know someone who had a past good experience at Upstate Imports and its closer to my house than Mercedes dealer. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. They do quality work on your vehicle and I knew I wasnt driving a typical Hyundai or Ford so I wanted the best possible people working on my vehicle and I believe these guys are the ones. Pricing can be a little higher than expected at times but once again Im sure they are not as high priced as the dealer would be. Comfortable waiting area. I will definitely go back to them again!

2021-05-06Truly exceptional service. I recently had a tire puncture and wanted to take my car someplace that really cared. I noticed all of the high reviews and thought I would give Upstate a try. I have been to MANY service places over the years, most were hit or miss. I was willing to travel the 25 minutes to Upstate from Dewitt and am very glad I did. My car wasnt even in the parking lot for 2 minutes before Matt took it back into the service area to have it worked on. The tire was repaired properly with NO damage to my wheel (something I was concerned about). The entire process took maybe 20-25 minutes. Check out some of the cars in their parking lot, these guys know what they are doing. I will be back in the future, cannot recommend enough.

2022-01-24Brought car in for abs light on and dropped to the floor air suspension after I was there 2 weeks ago for the same suspension problem in which they charged me 1200 for a air suspension pump that they told me should of fixed my problem and paid a lot of money for diagnostic the technician said that it was a bad axle and that changing it would solve my problem with the abs light… 3 grand later still have abs light and airmatic code on dashboard these guys are theives and just try to con jobs out of you I trust the dealership more than these guys

2021-02-25I made a mistake and took my car to the local Audi dealer first. After explaining them that I have done all the diagnostics my self and just asked them to check the electrical because my MAF sensor was reading 0 and I am not good when it gets to electrical issues. As well the ABS light was on. They checked for everything but the issue. Charged me for 2 hours and told me that my MAF sensor was fixed and that the check engine light was on because of the ABS module was bad and recommended me replace it and spend well over thousand dollars if not couple of thousands. It was super expensive. I declined. After I picked up the car from Audi the MAF sensor was still reading 0. So that’s when I called Upstate Imports, they scheduled me for the next day. I explained everything to Matt as I did to the Audi dealer. Few hours later I got a txt saying my car was all set. Guess what ?! I was right, it was electrical! One of the pins was damaged that is in the ECU plug. They repaired the pin and all of my issues went away including ABS.They have real professionals working that know how to listen and can think outside of the box and do the diagnostics.Thank you guys for helping me out and saving me good amount of money!!!

2018-02-06Nobody in the Syracuse area wanted to touch my 1971 Jaguar XKE - Jeff tackled the repairs with several innovative suggestions. Thanks to his workmanship, my vehicle ended up featured in APEX magazine. The car is once again fun to drive. The mechanics also provide honest opinions on repairs for my other imports. They helped a friend repair their car within 24 hours when then were en route for a family vacation through Syracuse. Service is always friendly and responsible, prices reasonable.

2018-02-06VERY clean and comfortable waiting area with free WiFi and coffee. Got my car right in at the scheduled appointment time (Ive been to several other garages where I watch my car sit for 30 minutes before anyone looks at it). They were polite, professional and explained what was wrong with the vehicle and gave me written quotos. I mostly do my own repairs, and I am confident that they were being honest about what needed to be repaired. There was no pressure. I will definitely go back. Being able to trust that you arent being pressured into unnecessary repairs is well worth any slight premium you might pay over cut rate garage prices.

2021-03-19A technical assessment, oil change, and battery for an 2004 A6 cost almost $500!? My Yankees keychain also mysteriously disappeared and the technician had the audacity to call me a liar. Would never recommend or take another vehicle there.

2019-06-07Last year their service was impeccable and I felt like they listened to my concerns and really worked with me to save money and fix my BMW. This year Justin is gone and the service I was provided felt like the typical mechanic to female situation. I cant tell you how much that will cost until you authorize me another hour of labor to diagnose it. I never got a straight answer for the services I needed and never got a call when they said they would update me. Not sure I will go back again.
