As I am sitting here with my husband waiting over 2 hours for him to receive pain and anti nausea medication, he lays here in pain. Usually our visits here are not too bad and as a nurse myself I understand other patients may take priority. Having said that at least pop in and let your patients know you have not forgotten about them. There needs matter too. Not in this day and age should we wait this long for an IV . Terrible visit. Its 10pm its going on 3 hours now.
The first time I came here was for an ER visit with a friend who needed a ride here. The staff was amazing and by far the best ER experience I had ever witnessed. The secound time was another ER visit for my girlfriend. We live about an hour away and have hospitals much closer to us, but this is by far the best option! Again the staff here is great, they are super helpful, insightful, and compassionate to patients needs. Id drive over an hour to be seen here over Syracuse or Auburn any day.
Have never waited less than an hour to receive any sort of treatment. I came here about to pass out on the floor, they took my vitals and made me go to the waiting room for over 5 hours for them to say that I was fine. Went to Clifton and I waited half an hour before they told me I had a concussion and would need to stay overnight so they could keep an eye on me.
I Have Always Had The Best Care at This Hospital. Great Doctors & Nursing Staff. The Lab Has Great Techs and Service. The Gift Shop is Wonderful As Well and The Coffee Shop is Amazing. The Emergency Room is Fast and Has Great Staff As Well. My Children and Family Just Love This Hospital.
Worst ER I have ever been to. Was there with my boyfriend who had a dislocated shoulder and it took over an hour for the doctor to see him and when I asked nurses what was going on they all rolled their eyes and said βthey would make a noteβ. Finally the doctor came in but still no pain meds (which had been requested multiple times. Then they gave him an anesthetic bit started to put the shoulder in before he was asleep which resulted in screaming and crying out in pain in which they refused to stop and kept going even though he was awake. Waited over an hour and half for discharge papers and he had to pee while waiting so he pressed his button and it took 35 minutes for a nurse to come to the room- good thing he wasnβt dying. DO NOT GO HERE if you want professionalism or help in a decent amount of time.
Came in with severe abdominal pains, vomiting and dehydration. Took 2.5 hours to get an IV with fluids going. And it was only after vomiting blood that they believed me and administered pain meds. After that they were a lot nicer and a lot more attentive. Its truly horrible what health care has become.
Its a bad bad bad. im sodisappointed of this hospital,i took my son last night because his having a diarrhea ,vamoting and fever then they give us a room right away but the problem is you need to wait for long to get a blood test to my son then after they got it, were waiting for the result when the Dr. got the result and he said that he dont have infection thats it!! he never said whats the cause of his symptoms why his having a diarrhea, vamoting and fever but i ask the nurse and she said he might got a virus it seem like shes not sure, OMG!!! Common are you really a nurse and Dr.!!! i think you guys needs to go back toschool and learn more!! i dont think if you guys are fit of this job!! i wont go back anymore of this hospital lack of services too..i ask some assitant also if theres somebody can go with us in outside even if just by the exit but the nurse said they dont have enough workers. so what i just did ! i went to the wheechair station to get the wheelchair and bring backto room because my son he was sleeping and still not feeling good and i have a lot of stuff to bring, while we headed to the exit, the frontdesk incharge just look on us only they never open us the door..what a shame!!!! ofthis hospital...
Thompson hospital is the worst hospital Iβve ever been to or experienced in my life. They accused me of βfaking my painβ and had a nurse check on me every 9 hours which is their normal day procedure. But the worst were the drβs and nurses. Itβs a joke how they treat people. Iβd like to thank you for me to rot in a bed for 5 days without a wash or anything. Itβs deplorable. I canβt believe they are still in operation. So thank you Thompson hospital
The physical therapy department is fabulous. My therapist is John Ahern and he is absolutely amazing at what he does. He pushes me every time I see him and the progress I am seeing is amazing. I had scope surgery where they found I tore a muscle completely and it was removed. I was up on my feet walking without crutches by the second week and continue to see progress all thanks to John. Thank you John:)
Came in with chest pain, nurses we extremely rude. When I wasnt seem for two hours then when I said I was leaving and I would handle it on my own (politely to the guy at the front desk) a nurse rudely looked at me said K and thew my paperwork across the desk at him. Im extremely appalled by this and I will be calling the management. Thats extremely unprofessional. I will drive to Syracuse or Rochester before coming here. Im also going to with drawing all my medical records and leaving as their patient.
ER is wonderful, hospital staff, lab staff, and radiology great. Primary Care office staff acts like they are doing you a personal favor to take a prescription refill request and actually correct a recurrent error. Customer service training needs to float out of the hospital and down the ladder to the offices carrying their name. The hallmark of any business is that person on the telephone.
If you want to go somewhere and be misdiagnosed, this is the place to go! I came in due to an ankle injury and they diagnosed me with a mini sprain only to not give me crutches and a splint they claimed as weight-bearing. Keep in mind, i dont weight enough to break a splint and it broke one day in to having it. I ended up coming to a urgent care in Syracuse for them to diagnose the injury as a fracture and treated the injury much better. If you get injured in terms of a sprain or potential fracture, stick to a urgent care that is NOT a part of this hospital.
Sat for 2 hours and 45 mins after being checked in. 25 people walked in and were brought back, understandable if they have more severe issues, they ended up filling up while I waited. Right before leaving a little girl comes by ambulance and they stick her in the waiting room because they are full, meanwhile 5 more young kids as young as a month old come in. All checked in and not told they were full. I left and went to Clifton, 15 mins in and out.
Worse hospital ive ever gone too. Everytime i go or anyone in my family goes its the same song and dance. Sat me in a room for 6 hours when i cut my finger on a table saw with no care and come to find out that they never sent a claim to my insuance company. Nearly killed my mother another time. Better off driving further and going to strong or a real hospital
I am an employee. Thompson was again named one of the top 150 hospitals in the country to work for. The nursing staff are excellent and administration is committed to offering the best care in our region. To the woman below who posted about the ultrasound, the tech is not allowed BY LAW to tell you their interpretation of the scan. It is out of the scope of practice and they could be held liable for acting as such. Im sorry that was not explained to you. I urge the folks that have been displeased to formally complain so that for concerns are addressed.
THIS HOSPITAL IS THE WORST HOSPITAL! I WOULDNT EVEN BRING MY DAUGHTER HERE AS A FIRST CHOICE. I WOULD MUCH RATHER GO TO RGH OR STRONG BEFORE HERE. MY HUSBAND WENT FOR AN ULTRASOUND TODAY AND THEY WERE 20 OR MORE MINUTES BEHIND FOR THE APPOINTMENT. WE WERENT SEEN UNTIL 1PM WHEN OUR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 12:30 AND WE WERE THERE 10 MINUTES EARLY. THE ULTRASOUND TECH WASNT GREAT EITHER. SHE HAS BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF HOW ORGANS SHOULD LOOK. BUT SAID THAT SHE COULDNT TELL ME IF THINGS LOOKED NORMAL. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY AN ULTRASOUND TECH WILL TELL YOU USUALLY IF THEY SEE SOMETHING ABNORMAL! SAME DEAL WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GROWING HUMAN AND AN ADULT?! NONE AT ALL! I HATE THIS HOSPITAL WITH A PASSION! I WISH THAT THEY WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS! I ALSO HATE HOW THEY HAVE ONE AREA TO REGISTER STRONG AND RGH DONT HAVE THIS! YOU GO TO SAID DEPARTMENT AND GET YOUR PAPERWORK THERE NOT TO ONE GENERAL AREA!

2022-05-14AVOID this place at all costs. Went in for chest pains, 4 hours later, still no information or even seen by a doctor. Icing on the cake was the nurse giving one of the worst ivs Ive ever had in my life, thanks nurse Ratchet. So, I ripped everything off and left for work. They still havent called to let me know my blood test results.

2022-08-01Few years back had an ultrasound done... Nothing showed up. A week later went for a hida scan and then emergency surgery. How does a gallbladder go from the size of a green Twinkie to the size of your hand and pure white in a week?

2019-12-12I called to let them know I would be a few minutes late. My appointment was at 8:00 AM and I was about 5 minutes out right on 5 & 20. I was coming from Rochester, when I called they wanted me to reschedule. I literally drove 40 minutes for nothing. I will never go here again. My mother and father have the same Doctor as I do, typically I am very loyal to companies (Hence me keeping my Doctor even though I moved to Rochester). I am very disappointed and if anyone has Doctor recommendations let me know.

2021-11-02My husband was in the ER and Observation unit this week. Shout out to Courtney in ER and the ER doctor and Jessica RN, Chris MSW, Sarah OT, and Cindy PT...they were all fabulous. Actually everyone we were in contact with were wonderful, didnt get all their names. Great care, positive happy people.Tough being in the hospital, but the staff made it tolerable. Thank you π

2022-03-233/23/22. Violating HIPPA in the ER by taking patients in unclosed room where patients in waiting room can hear everything about someoneβs medical history and current symptoms. Front Desk lady was scrolling on Pinterest on the computer (can be seen in the reflection behind her). Staff was very unprofessional.

2017-11-13Once when I was severely injured I was offered a bullet in the head to relieve my suffering - more, better , and more merciful care than they offer in this antechamber to oblivion.......Save the money and get ignored ( and possibly die ) somewhere else !Itβs patently obvious the person I am with needs an IV for fluids and we canβt even get them water by mouth !This place should be renamed the Vestibule of Futility ( A.K.A the Tenth Circle of Hell )Time to stand on some desks !

2021-09-25The staff are very rood ignore call bells give as little care as possible. Intentionally misdiagnosed you so they can rush you out the door. This place will kill you i do not recommend going to this hospital especially if you seriously sick.

2020-09-01The ER crew has always been terrific the times my husband and I went there .My complaint is about the dietician I was referred to/she was very vague and the advice she gave me (treadmll every day) really let me know that their program is useless!! Hours of cardio can make a person GAIN weight/she seemed condescending impatient and completely discounted the fact that as a custodian I DO physical work 8 hours a day,! I was supposed to hook up with their physical trainer but after the session with this person I had heard enough! Do your research people!

2022-01-09Do not trust this place or its affiliates. They will knowingly lie to you and on your medical records. They dont believe in assisting patients but only in getting patients out the door by whatever means necessary. The staff is also very unprofessional.

2019-05-04Absolutely terrible place. What I witnessed as a training CNA and the level of care given to the residents made me quit the program. It went against everything I morally stand for. Again strong ,Thompson, U of R health care is terrible ,do your research. Anyone who puts input output fluids in before the resident has even done that should be fired ...but as usual everything is looked over. Hourly checks for patients werent done and these were fall risks patients. I was told to write down times that I actually didnt check on the patient, and I refused. Also I was trained by a girl who did everything against code. How would you feel If your family member was being taken care of and the nurse training me was telling me do as I say not as you see . Again these are people and family members loved ones. People need to stop working for a pay check and do what truly makes them happy. Clearly none of these nurses especially on PINES avenue could of cared less. Yes again this is my experience and I will say it . Im sure patient family services will be reaching out to me at any point but this post will not be coming down. I will never be strong-armed buy a money-hungry corporation that treats people the way Thompson Hospital does. Its truly disgusting. I am repulsed by the level of care and would never ever risk my family member going into Thompson because I fear they would not come out.Every review on here is basically a 1...do you really want to go to a place like that...NO!
