Urban Woof is an amazing place! Everyone is super kind and professional. My westie Stella loves going there and this is a proof that she will be safe and cared for. The grooming service is also great! They cut her hair exactly how I tell them and she always comes back smelling really good!
We have been taking our Frenchie Luna to Urban Woof for about 9 months now and she absolutely loves it there, everyone is so friendly, willing to help and personable when they meet you. They have so many dogs that go to daycare there, not crowded at all (they just added an extension for the puppies to have more room to play). If you get a monthly package you will also have access to the webcam where you can check in on your pup throughout the day.We have other daycares near us but Urban Woof is worth the walk! Highly recommend.
Urban Woof is just absolutely great! My dog who previously was a little nervous around new dogs now runs and pulls his way to daycare whenever we go. It is so clear from his reaction every time he runs through the door that he loves it and I think that is a testament to the staff. The day after I brought my dog for the first time they knew my name and his name and have been great about giving updates to nervous first-time dog owners like myself. It’s so nice to have a place where I know not only my pup will be safe and cared for, but he will have a great time!
After months of trying out different doggie day cares, I stumbled upon urban woof and they are beyond amazing.I’ve been sending my chocolate Lab, Logan to them for almost two years now and the entire team at Urban Woof is like family. They are friendly, accommodating and takes great care of all the animals. The facility is clean and inviting. The dogs get taken out on several walks a day (to Central Park) which many other day cares do not do. Logan is always excited to spend the day at daycare and always comes home happy and tired!Urban woof also offers grooming and boarding which are also both wonderful. They are your all stop doggy shop and I wouldn’t trust anywhere else with my dog. Can’t recommend them enough. Not only are they cheaper than a lot of the competition but so much better.
We absolutely adore Urban Woof. Our puppy is always so excited to go there and she comes home so happy, healthy and tired out from playing all day. We use them for day care, grooming and boarding and all their services are excellent. Everyone who works there truly loves dogs! They are kind, very responsive and always professional. This place is a gem!
Please read everything before deciding. Its not a bad place, I just didnt get a warm and fuzzy leaving my dog here. The staff was mostly friendly and when I picked up my dog, she seemed fine. Not skittish from mistreatment, or anything. However, I couldnt go in to see where shed be kept, the facility, or how the dogs are treated on a normal day. On top of that, when I came to get my dog, they didnt know which leash went with which dog, or which dog belonged to which owner (after being told the dogs name and description). The leash and dog part appears to be a simple lack of organization and wouldnt affect the animals wellbeing. I would have felt better if I could have taken a look around to see the facility and if there was a little more professionalism/organization. Overall, not a bad place, but Ill probably try to find somewhere I feel a little more at ease.
Our dog Gracie, a cockapoo, loves Urban Woof and we couldn’t be happier about leaving her with them. There are a few doggie daycares closer to our apartment than Urban Woof, but we travel a bit farther for better quality. We love the convenience of having many services in one place. Gracie is also groomed at Urban Woof and the team there goes the extra mile to ensure we love her cut each and every time (the bandanas are also cute!).Silvia and the team at Urban Woof are passionate about dog care, helpful, and accommodating. When we first reached out about services with several questions, she took the time to thoroughly answer our concerns.Gracie starts pulling to Urban Woof when she’s several blocks away! She too highly recommends it.
Urban Woof took such great care of our pups! They were incredibly friendly and reliable. While we were on vacation out of town they kept us updated on how things were going (Great!) -- it was wonderful not to have to worry about how well taken care of they were, in every picture they were super happy! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
This location is a gem. Truly. The esthetics alone are enough to make you feel at ease. Vibrant & inviting. The center is spacious with dedicated rooms to allow dogs to have a peaceful, yet fun time while away. I went for my first grooming and was blown away. The staff is extremely nice for one, very accommodating, and assuring as I got nervous leaving my dog(as though it were his first day of preschool) first thing I smelled was cleanliness as the door opened, which made me feel good about the hygienics of the location. Staff asked me how I wanted my groom, gave them my feedback and...2 hours later with a simple notification via text my dog was ready. I get there so eager to see my dog Nico and boom, they open the door with a smile and he is not only what I expected but more, even fitted in a Halloween bandana. He smelled like a puff of heaven and looked like one too. The groomer did a phenomenal job, and my little mature Nico isn’t exactly the sweetest peach during grooming...She is a boss woman! I feel good as a puppy parent to taking him to Urban woof, the husband and wife duo really created a one stop shop. Day care, grooming, dog walking & overnight boarding! In love. Obrigada for brining such and amazing place to the neighborhood!1💛
The worst experience! On 12/17/20 I brought my 8 month old Bernedoodle to Urban Woof for grooming I explained to the person who greeted us at the door that Bubba was going to be neutered the following week could they please do a sanitary trim. After returning home realized that he needed a little bit more of a trimming in the buttocks area. So I brought him back three days later and asked if they could make the buttocks area a little shorter the woman at the door explained to me that they were busy but could check to see if they could fit Bubba in. She returned no problem so they took Bubba in. When they return Bubba to me I said thank you and walked home we live a few blocks from Urban Woof. When we returned home I noticed that Bubba was looking uncomfortable and started whining and licking his testicles. Whoever did what was supposed to be a trimming shaved the poor dogs testicles to the point where they were bleeding call it razor burn or trimmer burn. This was 3 o’clock in the afternoon unfortunately my vet didn’t have an opening until the following day at 3o’clock.The dog has been whimpering and crying and pacing the apartment for 24 hours straight. When I finally got to our appointment the Vet came out and said she’s never seen anything like that before from a groomer. We need to apply ointment every 12 hours plus pain pills twice a day and is wearing a cone for the next three days. On top of all of this my wife reached out to Urban Woof and asked for the owner or manager to call her. They never bothered to return the call it is now 8 hours later and the dog is still in tremendous pain and crying. Shame on you Urban Woof!!!
Sylvia and her team are absolutely AMAZING, and they go truly above and beyond for the dogs they care for. My roommates and I run a side business boarding local dogs is the upper east side, and we were horrified when we were tasked with taking care of two older medium sized terriers who unfortunately had clearly not been washed or groomed properly in years. They stunk, their hair was matted, they had sores on their bodies, and they needed a thorough grooming immediately. Despite having a full day of appointments, Sylvia offered to take on the jobs at 4:30pm on a Saturday (they close at 5), thinking the work would take 3 hours. It ended up taking 7 (!!!), with us picking up the dogs that same day at midnight. My mind was BLOWN at how incredibly clean, fluffy and happy the dogs were returned to us. Urban Woof changed these dogs’ lives for the better, not for money (we were offered a discount because of the circumstances), but because this business truly cares about its clients, the dogs it cares for. I can’t properly express how grateful I am to know that there is a business like Urban Woof out there to care for our furry loved ones. Thank you, Sylvia!
The best doggy day care on the Upper East Side, you will not find a cleaner, friendlier and safer environment for your dog to hang out and play/be groomed. Marcos and Silva, the owners, are the sweetest couple who always go out of their way to help my wife and I with early and late pick-ups and v. flexible hours when we need last minute changes to our dogs boarding arrangements. Check it out, our friends love it too.
The owners of Urban Woof (Silvia & Marcos) could not be any more caring, lovely and professional. My pups drag me to the salon when I ask them ‘do you want to go for a bath?’Can you imagine...3 Bichons that ordinarily hate being groomed, dragging me down the block? My dogs stop traffic after the groomer finishes their haircuts, too!And the pups love playing there during their doggie play dates!I couldn’t be more thrilled with this doggie salon. And when I travel, I rest assured knowing that Woof will watch over my pups and safeguard their wellbeing.Woof is a Neighborhood Treasure.Plus, these are not only really nice people, but they are reliable, responsible and honest!
We had a horrific experience at this establishment. Upon dropping off our pup, we had several questions around updated protocols and changes to the operations of the business based on COVID conditions, this coupled with the fact that the business is running on a skeleton crew. The owner, Silvia, met our questions with an incredibly unkind and disrespectful tone. We couldnt get a word in, and after attempting to quell the situation and simply get our questions answered, she became hostile.Once she began yelling at us on the street, we elected not to leave our puppy in her care.If the owner was willing to display that kind of hostility and temper in a public forum, we cannot imagine what she would be capable of in private with our pup. This woman snapped, right in front of us and seeing as pups of any age require patience and a calm temperament, someone with such hostile tendencies is not a proper match for animal care.In our 20+ years in NYC, this was by far the worst and most terrifying exchange weve ever had with a business owner. We thought long and hard about leaving a review, and its our first negative review on Google for any service, ever.In seeing other negative reviews on this business in Google (all recent), the way the owner responds to very fair constructive criticism by her clients says it all. Blaming and shaming clients, and only partially taking responsibility for the issues speaks volumes to the ideology, and showcases a business unwillingness to learn and grow.Dog owners beware.NOTE:To be fair on this review, pre-COVID, we had worked with Marcos at this establishment and he was absolutely lovely: Responsive, kind, knowledgeable. He was always very professional and took the the time to patiently explain procedures and safety protocols (such as how group walks function and what equipment is used, etc). Additionally, the in-house camera feature and app is wonderful.
Bad communication. I asked a person on the phone if my puppy can get groomed last Saturday around 3pm and she said she’s going to text me and send me an email. Received text from her and tried to schedule an appointment but no answer. Today I texted again for the appointment update and they keep telling me that they’re going to send me an email shortly. Wonder why it is so hard to arrange a grooming appointment. They could’ve at least let me know what time they are available or send me the email that they’re always trying to but failed.
The owners of Urban Woof have been walking our ten year old standard poodle, Molly, since she was a puppy. They are reliable, kind, and take excellent care of Molly.Urban Woof has watched Molly overnight for us, and are able to accommodate Molly’s special needs. We know we don’t have to worry about Molly when she is in the care of Urban Woof.
I dont know who loves Urban Woof more... Me or my dog Wade! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and caring. Wade loves going here so much that I cant walk him anywhere near 78th and 2nd because he thinks hes going to daycare and gets extremely excited! I highly recommend Urban Woof!! Every service they offer that Ive tried out has been a great experience from daycare to grooming, they do an amazing job!
Great place for your dog to have lots of fun! Fantastic service, great space and the staff is always attentive. You can see they love the dogs. My little one loves going there! She already knows the way and starts wagging her tail as soon as she is nearby. She knows she is in for lots of fun playtime.
Some of the best people I have ever met--theyre a lifesaver if you work and have a pup. I use both their daycare and walking services, and have absolutely no complaints. My pup loves them, and gets excited every time we turn the corner on their street. Easy five stars.
The first time Roger did a great job. Next time They told me he was busy but would groom my dog...he was not there and someone injured my dog ( ears were burned) I stayed there waiting for Roger to appear .They kept saying he was busy. When I went home and noticed my dogs discomfort I called and asked for Roger. Not available.. they lied he wasn’t thereDo NOT trust them with your dog. Shameful
Omg at first I didn’t reconsider my dog, I’m not a popular guy so my dog is my best friend so seeing my dog being soo well treated makes my extremely satisfied with their work and professionalism at Urban Woof NYC. BY seeing my dog happy and well treated I will always use their services! Great Job!!!! 👍

2022-09-06Highly recommend!! I was nervous about finding the right place to bring my 8 month old puppy for his first cut and I’m so happy I went with Urban Woof. The check in process was easy, staff was friendly, and best of all — our pup looks absolutely adorable!! He hates when we give him baths at home, so I was expecting him to be on edge when I picked him up, but he was smiling ear to ear. Thank you Urban Woof! We’ll be back :)

2022-01-02Urban Woof was a great spot for my puppys first grooming experience! Chrstian was thorough, asking a lot of questions about length of the trim in different areas. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. My dog had fallen ill the morning of her original appointment so we had to head to an emergency clinic and the staff were understanding with the short notice. I know some places charge you with less than 24 hours notice so was super relieved this isnt the case at Urban Woof. They were able to slot us in the next day when I called in, which was really appreciated. The store is great!I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others!

2022-08-10I cant say enough good things about Urban Woof. We have worked with them for walks, daycare and grooming for over three years and loved getting to know the owners and staff. Marcos, the owner, knows our dogs personality and temperament well and you can tell he, Silvia and the whole staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of the dogs. Its such a good feeling to see our dogs excitement to see the Urban Woof team around the neighborhood--highly recommend!

2022-05-07I didnt have a great experience at Urban Woof. I see a lot of great reviews, which is why I chose them, but after getting my dog back she seemed unusually nervous and it looks like a couple bumps on the back of her neck got nicked and were bleeding. It can happen, but they either didnt notice it or didnt care enough to say anything.Based on how nervous my dog was, she didnt have a good time either, and shes never had that kind of response before. She is happy and excited to see the vet that has drawn blood from her multiple times, and wasnt traumatized by the vet down the street, but somehow had her tail between her legs as she left from getting groomed.I wont be back.

2022-07-01Urban Woof is fine if you’re looking for fine for your pup! They told us they had 2 rooms but then suddenly, we didn’t see our dog in either of the rooms, and they said there is a 3rd room. Then when questioned, they kept passing me from one person to another, and then was told there is no 3rd room. We picked up our pup and he had no drool or anything that resembled having played with pups all day! Every time we pick him up from here, he immediately pees. It’s almost like they don’t give dogs the opportunity to go to the bathroom. Overall, the lack of transparency and inconsistent responses leads you to be skeptical of what happens behind the closed doors. They use Covid as an excuse to not give tours or allow people to step inside the door.

2020-09-12My pup Story has been going to Urban Woof since he was only a puppy. He is an excitable little bundle of energy and I can’t imagine what I would do without Urban Woof in my corner. Marcos and Sylvia are beyond amazing and the staff that they have chosen are also fantastic. I have never had to worry about my pup ever since I found urban woof. Thanks for being his home away from home guys!

2020-08-18We adopted our dog Campbell in September 2019 and he is just the best little Bichon we could have wished up. However, neither of us had ever had a puppy before and we both worked full time. We were so overwhelmed. I honestly mean this when I say, we could not have raised Campbell on the Upper East Side without Urban Woof. They literally do it all, from house calls for puppy playtime pre-vaccination, to midday dog walks at maturity, day care, overnight boarding, grooming, and they do each service with the greatest level of professionalism and customer care you could hope for. Campbell was obsessed with Urban Woof. If we got to within two blocks of the place he was tugging on the leash to race over to their storefront. Marcos and his family dont treat you and your dog as clients but as family. Sadly, we left the Upper East Side in July 2020 due to fall out from COVID-19. Of the many many things well miss about the city, Marcos and the Urban Woof family are right there at the top of the list. We can only hope the next dog care service we use is anywhere near as good as they are. Thanks for everything.
