U.S. Pacific Hotel in New York
I booked a double room for 2 adults and a 8 yo-child. For some reason, the system transferred to the hotel a booking for 2 persons. Even if we could have fit in the bed, the receptionist told us to pay a second room otherwise to leave. We refused to pay more because the problem didnt come from us. After a 50-minute discussion, that guy kicked us out: 2 women and a kid, at 2 am, in NYC. He refused to host us, even if the room was booked and paid. For your own good, never go to that place.
The location is pretty good and probably the only redeeming characteristic. For the price the accommodations arent exactly stellar, and furthermore their curfew hours are annoying. I arrived at the hotel, famished, at 11:45pm to check in, and it was only then that the front desk person told me there wasnt anyone to let people in between 12:30-8AM, and so if you left then youd be unable to come back.
When I came inside the hotel in the afternoon. The reception guy was stinking! He looks like a homeless man. He is a black man with a blue shirt and black pants. Then when I first check in, he told me to check in at 3 PM because he had to leave. Then after he went, a lady came to the reception and got me my room. I would not go to this place ever again!
I have stayed in about five or six hostels in Chinatown. This is by far the nicest. I had a double room which was much larger than any other place I’ve stayed. The room had a real ceiling rather than a drop ceiling or no ceiling at all. So it was much quieter. The halls are clean and well kept. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently and had much nicer facilities. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. It does cost a little more than some other places, but it’s well worth it. I will be staying here again.
It is a cheap accommodation – so don’t have any high expectationsThe good thing about this accommodation - the price is cheap for the accommodation on Manhattan in NYC. Reception clerk is nice and helpful. On the last day of your stay they allow you to leave your luggage locked in a room next to the reception until 5pm. There are many options to have a good and cheap coffee or meal in the close distance of this hotel. In your room you can find two packets of tissues, dental brushes, and two towels. Room and beds are clean. The bad thing about this accommodation - the rooms without windows are really very small and air-condition is on all the time (for some people it is great but for some not). Furniture inside the room is not really in a good shape. Restrooms are also not in a very good shape either - but still usable and fairly clean. They ask you to throw the used toilet paper into the waste bin and not the toilet itself - which can be quite disgusting to see and smell it when you come to the shared restroom. Beds are quite noisy. There are many steep steps you have to go through on the way to your room. Walls between rooms are so thin that you can hear almost everything that is going on in the rooms and hallway around you.Stay in this hotel only if you are on a very low budget and you really need to save the money – if you plan your trip at least half a year in advance you can find much better options for just a little bit more money.
Clean, small, relatively cheap, and friendly staff. All-around a good hotel. But DO NOT GET A WINDOWLESS ROOM. You WILL overheat. It’s hot, stuffy, and there’s no airflow in the cramped room. Pay the $17 more for a windowed room and enjoy yourself instead of sweating all night. Better for your health too. Beds are very hard, so bring your own cushions or blankets if you can’t handle sleeping on a hard surface. Bathrooms are pretty good for being shared. Staff was extraordinary and very helpful and informative. They hold onto the key if you need them to (there’s only one). This hotel is in Chinatown, and you walk out right onto the sidewalk. There’s capitalone and chase banks next door, and lots of restaurants nearby.
Absolutely horrible. The rooms are like asylum rooms. Very tiny, no window. They dont give you a mattress to sleep on it’s literally a box spring, but they call it a double bed. They also cancelled our reservation 1hr before check in saying the card was declined. Shouldn’t they have said that when we booked it weeks ago? The woman at the counter then tried to charge us 12$ more to rebook the room. We wouldn’t allow that though and haggled her back down to normal price. Honestly this is not a hotel to book if you’re looking to get some sleep. The only thing is may be good for is a hookup.
The only thing good about this hotel is the location. If you like your hotel room to be clean, cozy, or bigger than a jail cell; this is not the place for you. The sketchiest people were on our floor and were so drugged out they couldnt hold a conversation. Unless you buy the two priciest room options you have a public bathroom and they are disgusting; moldy, drugs left over, and people do not clean up after themselves. Since it is a public restroom you dont want to get into the shower without shoes, but the shower shoes they provide you are not new, nor are they clean or sanitized. The sheets were both white and off colored to a yellow shade, which means they do not use bleach to sanitize their sheets. DO NOT GO HERE unless: 1. it is to do a ton of drugs and you dont care about where you are to that. 2. you are bringing back a cheap hooker or one night stand. 3. you are okay with maybe catching diseases.
As others have said. It is exactly what its meant to be. Small affordable room. Very clean and well kept.If I stay here again, Ill spend the extra money for a room with a window. You have no control over the temperature in your room.I came in the fall. It was 40°outside over night, but the room was so hot it was hard to fall asleep. I used to live in NYC and this is closer to the Subway than any apartment Ive ever had. (HUGE perk)
This is ok if youre trying to stay for only 1 day or for a few days. I recommend to select the room with a private bathroom. It is a bit larger than the single room. Every room is just for two people. The rooms are clean. And I also highly recommend to bring your own blankets and an extra bed comforter. The beds are really firm queen sized. Way too hard for my liking. but overall it was ok and quite. Not ideal if youre coming from a far place.
Im giving this hotel 4 stars because it was great for what it is, a cheap hotel in Manhattan, its by no means a 4 star hotel. We paid $68 for a room here. Ive never paid so little anywhere. The room only had a bed, two lights, a tiny tv, a desk and a chair and they barely fit in there. Everything was very clean and it was quiet. There were several shared bathrooms in the floor. We barely used them but they clean and worked. We were very pleased with what we got for the price we paid.
Not clean, the room was messy and the furniture not even well mounted. What i hated is that they put plastic wrap all around the matress so when you sleep it makes a lot of noise, you sweat and it is not comfortable at all. I would not go back there but you get what you pay for!
Place is a really cheap place to stay, super small and bad room rooms but as just a place to sleep works perfectly. Perfect area super close and accessible to everything. Owner is cheap and might scam you but other then that beds are 50/50 beds comfy or hard as a rock. Not even a single hotel room literally a 4x5 room. For a night out or weekend is wotth it
Bathrooms are dirty, soap dispensers are gross. Bedroom walls are dirty with snot and other stuff. Seems like they have enough employees to clean more thoroughly. One lady was scrubbing the wall outside with a toothbrush, should have been done inside. Only reason for 3 stars is that it was very cheap.
Rooms are very very small, just a double bed, desk, and 3 feet of floor space. Which is fine for the price. Booked for 3 people and were told upon arriving we cant have 3 and need to book another room at regular price. In the end costing twice what we were informed beforehand.
I stayed here when I did my overnight trip last year. If youre planning on visiting NYC for a couple days and would want to save money, a place like this is great. The only peculiar thing was that the bathrooms were separate from the rooms basically making like a boarding house. A short walk to the Subway station.P.s. Unless you plan on dealing with New York traffic, Id get the 7-day unlimited Metrocard pass to do all your traveling
US Pacificere Hotel is central placed in lower Manhatten. The level of the quality must be judged in comparison to the price and locality. Its fair, but not luxury. No elevator avalable, which means that elderly guests at the hotel like me shouldn’t book at top High. Try to get frist or second floor. My advice: clean twice a day the bathrooms, as the hotel visitors puts many things in there. And close the hole at the roof, so the raindrops are outside and not inside.
Low prize and calm clean place. If you plan to spend just sleep time in hotel and spend all day in the city than its ok. Hotel has no services indeed yet I got what I expected. The quitness in hotel is surprising, no voice from streets. Of course there are noisy guests you will hear that. Low price yet good stay.Shared shower but you can lock yourself in so this was also fine.
I was there for 3 days and they never did any type of cleaning. The bathrooms were dirty and they didnt change the linens at all. I didnt make the bed one day and I found it as I left it. The employees would not acknowledge me not even to say good morning. Its cheap, I guess that is what I get for that price.
Believe it or not, this hotel is actually doable for a one night stay. Its cle.n. I stayed in a room that had a bathroom. I cant do the shared bathroom thing and my room was on the same floor as the lobby so I felt safe. The price was good for NYC. Its not luxary or good for more than one.night, maybe 2 if youre drunk. The bed was super HARD! I never felt anything like it. It felt like sheets on top of concrete. I actually had to make sure it wasnt concrete. It was wood with a mattress cover on top. The room was small. The window view was a view of trash. Yuk. But it is NYC! So I give it a 3 star because of the hard bed and window view. Also if you stay here, you have to get the remote for the tv at the front desk and its a $20 deposit. Im not sure why they dont tell you that but I found out by reading another review before I went.
- They dont have elevator (and reception is in the second floor)- Bathroom is shared (2 per floor).- Room is not too big.- TV is not working.- Have WiFi- Each room have only one key- Good location (China town)- Make sure that you close the room (Doesnt lock automatically)
If you want cheap place in New York, this hotel is cheap place. Rooms are small, simple quite clean sleep places, you wont be able to do anything else here besides watching TV (english, latino and chinesse). Showers and toilets are on corridors. But well, it is cheap :)
Very very cold. The heating doesnt work but they where still using the ac so we where having cold air in our room. It was colder than outside (10 celcius). Matress was extremely hard. Like a rock. Didnt know it exist that hard. One star for the location and the guy giving us a blanket one hour after we complained about the very cold temperature.
If youre just going to sleep in the room and spend the rest of the time exploring and experiencing NYC then this is the place. It is cheap and close to everything else. Check the pictures. By the doorway, looking across the street at Kam 金龍船 Boat bakery, uptown and SoHo is to your left while City Hall and the rest of the Lower East Side is to your right. Again, its cheap and the bathroom is shared but the wifi works and its close to everything.
My wife goes into to the hotel to book it and they charge her and then the person that she is trying to book the room with is being very rude and the hotel service is god awful and people are very loud during the night and the room service is terrible also to add to that the room is gross and nasty no bathroom you need to share it with other guest there.
The place is very well located, you can reach many tourist attractions on foot (in my opinion it is the best way to get to know the city). As for the room, it was dirty and it was not as it had been shown to us through booking, the TV did not work and the furniture/desk in our room was in terrible condition.
I put a star because less can not be. We knew that the room was small and without windows but we did not imagine that such an uncomfortable bed could exist, it seemed like an impossible table to sleep on. In addition, the cleanliness quite poor. An experience that I do not recommend we had to cancel the reservation and look for another hotel the next day. That good value for money for New York is not true, there are hotels just as cheap that are 200 times better. In short, disappointing.
DO NOT STAY HERE! If you dont want to ruin your vacation, youd better look for another place, the location is very good, but for that price and knowing that you have to take the subway if or if in NY, youd better look for something else. The beds are so hard that it is better to sleep on the floor and the cleaning is very bad! You hear the one in the room next door snoring how thin the walls are and the rooms are so small that only the bed fits! We booked 4 nights and arrived at 9pm on check-in day so we left our bags and we went to have some dinner, when we arrived an hour and a half later and tried the bed, we tried to change the room but the rude man at the reception on the night shift did not feel like working and said no and no and not in a very bad way! The next morning there was a more polite guy who, talking to him, returned the money for the remaining 3 nights and we could find something much better that is not difficult! So I do not recommend it at all this!
I have seen nothing dirtier on my tours in many places, there was no soap in the bathrooms, the TV did not work, and on the last day behind a curtain there was a bag with food from other passengers, the stairs were dirty everywhere, and see that I travel through Cambodia Vietnam Thailand and South America ok score 0
N.Y. - Hotel located in central Chinatown on Bowery st. N.106. Nearby there are two underground stations. Access to the reception is located on the first floor up a steep staircase. It works 24 hours a day. Here they also give passwords for free Wifi. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. The rooms are also on the 2nd and 3rd floors reachable by other 2 or 4 flights of stairs. The bathrooms are shared but clean. The room assigned to me, without a window (I knew it from the moment of booking), has the dimensions of 2.5 meters x 2; no wardrobe but there is a desk with drawers one of which is lockable (key to ask for in the concierge I assume because it was not present); at the foot of the bed attached to the wall a TV with remote control. The two suitcases have barely been there. We need a spirit of adaptation. I suggest future clients (which I did not do) to request information on any evacuation in the event of an emergency (fire and / or other calamities).
I spent a horrible night at this hotel. Nothing saves him. Absolutely nothing. The building is dirty, full of stairs and no one in the hotel moves to help (good luck if you carry suitcases), the carpet in the hallway was filthy, the sheets were clearly not washed and the room had not been cleaned since the last guest they were still in the room, an old slipper, and the sheets smelled like a suvaco !! Cleaning staff did not go there long ago). The bathroom comes in with disgust and fear of getting sick, the bed is harder and uncomfortable than sleeping on the floor, the building shakes all night, people are making noise in the hallways all night. The location is not bad as it is close to several major NY points, but its street is horrible and stinky. If you are looking for a place to sleep and rest at the end of the day, this is no good here. Nothing worth the effort to stay in this sty.
Plus this place is the location in Chinatown near the metro station and wifi in the room. Room without a window with a double bed, livable, because at least clean bedding. It is a pity that there is no discreet backlight, because even getting to the bathroom in total darkness can be a problem. The bed is very hard and every time you feel it is springing. Bathrooms in the corridor very badly damaged, with fungi in fugues. In addition, you can feel the humidity and the peculiar smell of public toilets. If you travel with a large / heavy luggage, I would not recommend it because there is no elevator, but there are high and steep stairs. The hotel is definitely not for people who would like at least a minimum of convenience.
There was no feeling of cleanliness than I saw in the photo. There is a yellow stain on the sheets and pillow cover, and the shower booth has a slight odor, so I can not take a comfortable shower. In addition, although slippers were prepared in the room, since it is not a disposable, it is not possible to know who has worn it and whether it is disinfected properly ....... It can not be used.Besides, I think that I should be able to flee properly in the unlikely event of a fire. There are no windows in the room and no air conditioning. I can ventilate ....Anyway, I feel like Im filling the space in my room. It doesnt seem to be such a big building, but it seems to be more than 20 rooms on one floor.I was planning to stay for a long time, but I could not stand the dirt of the sheets and checked out overnight. There was no cancellation fee. The impression that there are many guests who cancel by maybe staying overnight ....I just want to stay cheap! !I think that it is good if you decide your mind.
I would not book again despite the cheap price. Mainly because of the dirty public baths, in which then also smokes, so that the stench becomes unbearable. That there is no window and the room is small, I knew so before. But that doesnt work - next time Im going to sleep better in NJ and take the shuttle service to Manhattan. Although the situation in U.S. Pat. Pacific Hotel is very nice.
A well-located pigsty. The intention is to spend the day in the city, get home, bathe and sleep. But you cant do either one with ease. The bathrooms are ridiculous and the beds are harder than stone !! Not to mention that you hear (and feel) all the noise from the neighbors and the building shakes !!!! Spooky. Advice: run, forreste !!The location is not worth the discomfort. The attendants have no goodwill. And then there are the stairs. But I swear these are the least. Climbing three flights of stairs with two huge suitcases was easy close to sleeping on what they call a bed.
From the bad to the worst.Very dirty, tiny rooms with poor ventilation, expensive and stinks of cigarettes. The most thrown away in the city. 100% NOT RECOMMENDED.It is a full-fledged zulo. It also does not have an elevator to load suitcases. In my case I asked for some sheets because of how dirty they were. The furniture was broken and had bugs. The only favorable point is the location.
Everything was great, quick check-in, clean, super central, perfectly connected and cheap. Of course you shouldnt expect luxury. The hotel is perfect for people who want to explore the city and just need a clean place to sleep and shower.Where else can you get a double room for $ 80 in NYC?Anyone who expected more at the price has somehow not understood the world ...
Budget hotel in Downtown.I practice if what you are looking for is a place to sleep and nothing else. The bathrooms, which are shared, lack cleaning during the day (the coating had fungi). In a week we did not change the sheets and they were broken. It does not have an elevator and the lowest level is 1 floor high, so people with accessibility problems do not find it practical. The neighborhood that surrounds it (Chinatown) smells really bad.
Bedding + bed linen dirty with greasy stains and tufts of hair found on our arrival under the sheets. Dust on ventilation and on the television (which did not work). Mold on the walls of the bathroom with dirty toilets.6 sqm room where you can hear everything going on, doors slam day and night.Disrespectful and rude staff who dont change towels (over 14 nights !!!)Room 318;)
Super small, you have to go straight in and out of the way. Fits only 1 bed, which is 3 sides leaning against the wall, and a tiny table. No breakfast. Shared bathroom, but clean. The service is strange, they are not very friendly and do not help you at all. There is a staircase to climb with suitcases.
This hotel is very well located in Chinatown. It is close to Brooklyn bridge and little Italy. However, my room did not have a window. The room had no ventilation and it was very hot at night. In the room there were no mirrors or any other type of services (cleaning implements). The attention given was normal. I recommend it if you do not have problem not having window and ventilation. Otherwise it is economical and well located.
Quiet budget hotel, excellent location, near two metro stations, within walking distance two bridges, city hall, 9/11 memorial, wall street, bull statue, port for a free ride past the statue of liberty. recommend. P.s. The room was without a window, with air conditioning, but for rest after a day of walking excursion it is not so important. We must take!
It is the best if you want to save money. Good location in manhattan ... you can reach the brooklyn bridge by walking. Peaceful neighborhood. Some rooms have no window but if you only get to sleep it is a very good option; These rooms also have no ventilation, which should be improved.
Badly located, smells musty and you cant ventilate it since there is no window. Hard bed .. the bedding seems to be freshly washed .. phew.Individual but community shower, questionable but passable hygiene. Warm welcome.Considering the price .. even if it is one of the lowest available, I would not go back unless I was short of money and had no other choice.
Disgusting. Very dirty rooms, sheets and towels full of stains, dwarf rooms, dirty bathrooms and always full of people at peak times, very loud, you hear spitting all the time to Chinese customers at any time of the night, there are many stairs without elevator . We also canceled the reservation without prior notice. HORRIBLE
Hostel in the Chinatown of NY, is close to the metro grand ST of the orange line and the bowery line coffee color, the latter takes you to Jamaica station that connects to the John F. Kennedy airport. The attention of the hostel is good, the cleanliness is good, although once you get the room you do not do the toilet anymore, the bathrooms are clean although the people are not so clean. In general, the stay in the U.S. Pacific Hotel.Little Italy and SoHo are close by.
For travelers with limited budget, good option. In the heart of Chinatown. Near the hotel is a very diverse trade. There are several food places and with fairly low prices, fast and good service. It has connectivity to all of Manhattan, both on buses and on the subway. Walking you can get to the Brooklyn Bridge. At night near the hotel you will experience a very good atmosphere, with bars and bars.
Terrible. It is not stated that this is a hotel in Chinatown, but it is located directly in Manhattan. Thats a lie.Daily 12- to 15-kilometer routes to downtown New York, such as Times Square, 5th Awe, Central Park, or normal American food to restaurants. The hotel is dirty, the bed for 2 people was 125 cm wide, non-functional locking and terrible hygiene conditions. For 4 days of stay there was no possibility to go to the shower.I do not recommend
Definitely dont expect any romance. The hotel is a diner, but if you plan to sleep for a sleep and do not mind getting back in a 2 * 3m room without windows (or you need to get a jetlag) you can stay for a few days. The metro is not far away and the runway wherever M. is located is relaxing.

2022-05-24Not sure about all the other negative reviews but for the price, this place got the job done. The rooms are incredibly small (the bed takes up 60-70% of the room) but it was generally clean. Shared bathrooms were also pretty clean. There are no elevators, only stairs, so prepare to get your steps in. They provide two bath towels, but you’ll have to bring your own toiletries including hand soap. The front desk was very friendly and there is a bag holding area if needed. My stay was also pretty quiet, yes the walls are thin, but the people were pretty respectful on noise. All in all, for the price, this is a great place to stay if you’re just sleeping. Pare your expectations and you’ll be fine.

2022-06-12Easy access to where you need to be. Yes the place is out dated but its clean. The shared bathrooms were consistently being cleaned during our stay as well as the halls. Very friendly staff. Idk why there are bad reviews here because if you expect more for this price, stay away from New York. Youll have clean sheets, a place to sleep, showers, and a locking door. If you want a cheap get away, consider booking here. Youre not going to find a cheaper place this clean and safe.

2022-05-30Is this your first time in Manhattan and youre on a very tight budget?1st things 1st: measure your expectations.New York is one of the most expensive places in the world, but Manhattan particularly, is a place where you will NEVER find a deal when it comes to accommodation. If youre alone, I would recommend that you stay at a hostel. Your experience will be much better. But if you do not like sharing rooms, or if youre a couple, the small hotels in Chinatown do the trick. We have all been there.I stayed in one for the first time about 8 years ago. I was so anxious, because the reviews were so extremely bad.But in the end, I was so happy I stayed there. When you are in New York, every second is precious. There is a never ending amount of things to do, and you do not want to waste your time sitting in a room playing with your phone or watching TV. You can do that back home.I stayed at the US Pacific Hotel a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful. Everything I expected. The big advantages are:It is quite easy to reach Bowery with the Subway from JFK airport. The price youll pay is pretty much the cheapest for a single room in NYC, and that includes Brooklyn and the other surrounding areas. The WiFi works pretty well. The bathrooms have hot water and the showers have good pressure. The surrounding area is full of exciting things to do, and many cheap shops all over China Town, as well as delicious Chinese food, and Italian food in Little Italy.Obviously you will feel a little bit claustrophobic, but theres another reason for you to get out there and enjoy the city that never sleeps!

2022-05-23Good location, staff always available. Small and clean room. More bathrooms generally would be nice but we managed. Smelling like an old building but thats to be expected.

2022-05-27Only plus point is the price. The hotel room smells and does not have ventilators or windows. There were three bathrooms in a floor, one could not be locked from inside the other one did not have toilet paper. I did not noticed any heating or cooling system. All night there were people in adjacent room and corridor making noise, I could get only 3-4 hours of sleep after exhausting day. The only reason I booked the hotel was to save some bucks, but it wasnt worth it.

2022-04-09The hotel does NOT look like the pictures. The sheets were okay, but had weird spots on them, the bathroom had some jugs of shower gel and shampoo which was okay. However, an addition in the bathroom is the presence of cockroaches!!!Also, please be aware that there are LITERALLY no accessible ramps or elevators and the flights of stairs are quite long. The benches in any diner are way more comfortable than our bed was, but thankfully we were too tired to not be able to sleep. There were two light sources in the windowless room, but only one was working. The receptionist was okay, they let us spend five more minutes to figure out how to get our big luggage (normal airplane check-in size) out of the room, but not without a comment on how the checkout time was at 12.If you do not have a choice, you can go there, but please NOT for more than one night. We felt like we were ripped off in the worst way possible.

2022-07-07While I didnt end up staying here, I am writing a review because of how pleased I was with the hotels service. Normally, it can be hell trying to make changes to a reservation when you book through a third party rather than directly through the hotel. Even so, US Pacific Hotel gave me a full refund when I had to cancel my day-of reservation due to an emergency. Shout out to this place!

2021-12-31I dont know what you guys (people who left bad reviews) want. Its the cheapest thing in Manhattan. Yes the rooms are SMALL. The mattress literally touched both sides of the wall. And there was no window. Walls are thin. But like..... For the price? I mean it was clean and safe. Im happy with that. 谢谢你们
