My interviewer was rude. She would roll her eyes at me whenever I asked her to specify her questions. She would still not explain and just say the question louder. Good thing I am confident with my English so I didnt let myself get intimidated but i feel sorry for others who are not. They should understand as English is not our first language.
We went for my husband’s interview and although it was packed, everything seemed pretty organized and ran smoothly. I’d suggest arriving an hour or so before your interview or appointment time! Our appointment was for 8:15 A.M., we arrived by 7:15 and were out the door by 8:25. The security lines were long but moved pretty quickly. We went upstairs and were called within 30 minutes. The woman who interviewed us was incredibly sweet and I’ll always be grateful for her kind words and advice! We were expecting a completely different experience but she proved us wrong in the best way. Being that it was 7-8 in the morning, everyone we encountered was in a pleasant mood despite the reviews on here!
This review is for the 7th Floor. I have been there three times so far. Terrible and frustrated experience every time. They don’t want to listen to you. They don’t care what you are there for. You cannot say anything back because the attitude they shown “I am above you” would let you down. They have no idea how important their work is to so many people in the States. They treat those people like criminals. I can’t believe my tax money is supporting those officers/works. So unprofessional and careless.
Thanks to a sympathetic supervisor I have been able to gain my identity back after 8 years, shows that there are good people out there looking out for people who werent born here. He helped when no one else would even though I came to this country as a child and lived my entire life in this country. If it wasnt for that person I would still be lost and seeking answers with the clueless 800 number, the clueless people at the SSA, and the clueless people at the dmv, thank you so much now I can finally get a job and be a productive member of society. People like that are what makes the USA so great.
I arrived on a Friday, which turns out to be a day in which they do not do interviews. This bodes well if you have any requests or questions that are outside the norm for someone to help. I had to get a replacement copy of my petition for name change and the officers here went beyond reasonable expectation to help me find the documents needed. I ended up having to go to a court in a different county to retrieve. Without their help, I may not of been able to get it the same day. I would give more stars if possible.
Officers are beyond helpful, very professionals. Waiting time wasnt bad, 20 minutes after I checked in. My only complain was the TV in the waiting room.. at that time the nut crackers of The View were on. I needed to move to another seat. Why dont they play something more educational or entertaining than The View? like the traffic and weather for example, just saying.
I had an interview with one of the interviewers for a petition to remove a condition from my green card. She knew about my case and she was very supportive and considerate. I thank the interviewer and the whole department. You guys are welcoming and warm people. I believe that helping minorities also helps the country. Thank you so much again.
The nastiest, rudest security officers. i go there almost everyday and always encounter their rudeness, disrespectful attitude towards people entering the building. all other employees are very nice helpful and patient , but the security officers. they act like theyre above anyone there, for me specifically such an attitude towards people mostly immigrants is hurtful and i am a citizen of US. i hope someone will pay attention to that issue and fix it.
Escorted my mom to a Citizen naturalization interview on 9th floor. The staffs were very friendly and polite. The interview was punctually and well organized. This district office is very efficient and it took a very short time to process my mom’s case. It is impressive.
The costumer service is beyond horrible! The workers are miserable. So much looking for jobs in this country and the ones that have the good ones are nasty and uneducated. I’ve been in that office more than 12 times just this year for a simple case and they only tell you you have to wait. They don’t look at anything they are urge to let people go. And when a person do a decent job and someone wants to wait for that person to be attended the other get like lions on the jungle, ready to tear you into part! It’s a shame this is a government institution with such an educated and unprofessional people!
Was there yesterday and the girl at window 2 was very nasty I couldnt get her name her is was turned over. She was the only one at the window at 2:45 pm I dont know if she think because she works there she better than everybody. If she dnt like working there Im sure they can find someone else to do the job and b respectfull to ppl
Got my certificate of citizenship here. Took way less time than I was led to believe by parents. I thought there was gonna be a lot of people, a long line, and a lot of fuzz around the oath of allegiance, but when I went there wasnt a line, and the whole thing took like 10 minutes end to end. It felt efficient, just like I expect in New York.
Go Early ! Long lines for Security check-in and also on the 7th floor reception where interviews takes place.Driving or taking a cab there is not a good idea with Manhattans traffic and constant construction. Take the Subway or the bus. Cost me $ 50. And an hour and a half to get to my 9 a.m. appointment. FYİ: There is a No-Show bin for late arrivals and no-shows !!!
I have knew that the uscis is very busy.God please help him.I was angry because my case is beyond the normal processing time. they said that we regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your application. This is a great country. I hope the services is going to be improved.

2022-05-02The worst US government agency ever. I have been there 3 times for interview with the same person over a period of 3 years. My case is still pending. The 7th floor of that building is the worse ever. I and my wife pay thousands in taxes every year. I believe we deserve better..

2017-12-02Very nice environment, officers were helpful. If you ask something they answer very nicely unlike some other govt office, but the lady who took my civics test she was little rude not a big deal tho. Like very little. Cause i guess she was doing same thing again and again since morning thats why i guess. But it was okay.

2022-01-10Supposed to be traveling in 4 days. Booked this trip over a year ago and I am devastated knowing I will most likely not be going. I will lose thousands of dollars for nothing because the USCIS changed their system to obtain a I-551 Stamp. As soon as I realized my permanent resident card was missing I applied for a new one and waited for my biometrics appointment. Did the biometrics appointment and immediately called for the stamp. Was told I have to wait up the 30 days for a call just to make an appointment. Well I’m on day 21 and have yet to receive a call. Why on earth should it take 30 days for someone to call to simply make an appointment. It literally takes 20-30 mins to do the stamp! I have called 4 times pleading with them to please give me an appointment but it’s only urgent if it’s an emergency. I have been a resident of the United States for 13 years and will suffer a financial loss! I went into the office and tried pleading my case there but everyone who works for the USCIS is so unsympathetic. I was yelled at by an angry lady who clearly has had enough of people trying to obtain stamps as she told me we were in a pandemic (I’m not sure what that has to do with me getting a stamp). There was approx 2 people in the entire waiting area! It’s all just so exhausting - the fact that I now can’t even travel because I can’t obtain an appointment when it isn’t even busy is sickening.

2021-12-09Went to interview along with my Wife today. Officer was very friendly and makes us feel welcomed! Translator did a good job too since our English is not fluent. Overall a great experience! Thank you USA!

2021-10-08I went in for a stamp appointment on the third floor. The overall experience seems to depend a lot on who you get, however. There were agents in different booths that sounded agitated and intimidating, but the woman that assisted me was professional and respectful. It was a pleasant and easy experience.

2021-11-18Security screening very unprofessional. They are worse than any TSA as in they scream and demand good attitude else you dont come in. Once a soldier, and now a Federal employee, I am embarrassed by their behavior and service. Many people coming here dont speak English or are fluent and they choose to badger then because of it. Besides that, no other complaints.
