My wife and I booked the venue for a Friday lunch for my sons first birthday and we have nothing but good things to say. Christian and Samantha did a phenomenal job! The venue is spectacular, food is delicious and all around we were so pleased with our experience. We had about 45 people and they were professional and wonderful. Being from New York City we were excited but also curious to see how the event would turn out. It was beyond our expectations and we look forward to returning. We also stayed a few nights in the farm house which was lovely. The pool was excellent. Highly recommend! I want to keep this my little secret but it was so nice I have to leave a review!
What dreams are made of. Our wedding weekend at Valley Rock could not have been more magical. A wonderful taste of upstate and only an hour away from the city, our guests could not have been happier to experience such a beautiful escape from Manhattan in such a short trip. Cristian and his on site staff were so accommodating and kind. They really allowed us to make the space our own, and truly custom tailored the wedding flow to fit our exact needs. Elevated, cozy, and timeless all at once - it was all almost too perfect.
My wife and I recently held our wedding at Valley Rock in June. Cristian (the event director) and his staff did a fantastic job putting on the wedding of our dreams. The grounds are gorgeous (especially the rose garden) and is perfectly laid out to have events in different spaces that each have their own unique look and feel. In fact, the grounds themselves are so beautiful we barely had to buy any of our own flowers for the wedding. The on-property guest houses are gorgeous and were large enough to comfortably accommodate our wedding party and family. In addition to the top notch venue spaces the staff is highly attentive and the food is delicious (significantly better than typical wedding fare). I would highly recommend Valley Rock as a wedding venue or for any special event.
Wonderful outdoor dining experience! The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. Emily went above and beyond to make sure we a great evening. We will definitely be dining at Valley Rock again. There market is also excellent. I have shoped there several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always high quality and fresh and they always have a great selection. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This was my third time here. First time paying the 7.95 per guest. Which is absolute crazy. Would not go back and pay the fee again. Five people at basically 8.00 just to sit down before you even order anything. Food was average and over priced. The grounds are beautiful. A hidden gem. While I appreciate your reply to me, we can agree to disagree. I understand that you also received a 750,000 dollar grant as well, and that helped beautify the grounds as well. We should all be that lucky to get a grant to help us start a business. Paying and $8.00 cover charge in my mind per person is just crazy, and I wont be back until that charge is gone. When I tell people about it, they also agree it it crazy and say they wont go there either. Yes - you do tell people about it, but I guess until you see it on the bill, it doesnt hit you. Wishing you continued success.
My wife and I got married at Valley Rock a few weeks ago. The entire weekend was an amazing experience for us and our guests. Notwithstanding a sustained downpour the day of our wedding, the Valley Rock staff, particularly Cristian and Samantha, stepped it up and helped to make the day successful and memorable every step of the way. Our families and friends raved about the food, accommodations and property in general. We look forward to returning in the future!
If you are booking a wedding or event LOOK NO FURTHER! This dream space oozes sophistication complimented with casual elegance and 5 star service. There is no wedding event space quite like it that allows for a full weekend experience for you and your guests while still being close to NYC.My husband and I got married at Valley Rock on 9/25 after a long postponement due to COVID. We originally booked the event back in 2019 and worked with Cristian over the last 2 years. His attention to detail and top notch hospitality made the entire process seamless. Every single event throughout the weekend was planned and executed perfectly. The entire team is so professional and ultimately one that you can trust to pull off a flawless event. We booked a full weekend that made the property private just for us and I cannot recommend this option more. We got to take advantage of all that the beautiful grounds has to offer; amazing guest houses, an outdoor rehearsal dinner, a firepit with smores, relaxing at the pool, private yoga class at the gym and so much more. The accommodations, food, drinks, service, and amenities were all 5 star. I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful place and Cristian and his team. I am truly jealous of anyone who gets to host their future events here!
We got married at The Valley Rock Inn three weeks ago and it was everything we had hoped for and more. Because of COVID we made the ultimate decision to have a 30 person wedding with our immediate family and closest friends. During the planning process, we oftentimes went back and forth on whether we made the right decision and looking back, we wouldnt change a thing. The Valley Rock Inn was the perfect venue for us. Instead of a 5 hour wedding we decided to spend a couple of nights in the Farmhouse and The Verandas and enjoy the property, a guided hiking tour and relaxation by the pool before our big day. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the property, the grounds, the mouthwatering food, drinks and the amazing staff. And most of all, we cant say enough about how great Cristian and Samantha were. They were there for every thing we needed and made our wedding a dream come true. So many of our guests left saying that it was the best wedding they ever attended. We are so glad that we only live 10 minutes away from the Valley Rock Inn so we can continue to visit frequently.
This little oasis is a true gem. I dined with loved ones for a special birthday surprise and everything blew me away: from the service and atmosphere to the cocktails and food. Don’t miss out on the pizza, the dough is truly addictive. The grounds are sprawling and beautifully manicured — get your camera and inner child ready.
Food, staff and ambiance are excellent! Ample heat provided allowing for a comfortable outside dining experience! My personal favorite is the scrumptious White Truffle wood fired oven pizza. A place to enjoy with great friends! Leave a little time after dinner to enjoy sitting around the fire cauldron in the courtyard! Please continue to support your local restaurants!
We celebrated our Dads 80th birthday at the Valley Rock Inn with over 70 guests. From the first moment we spoke with the staff they were 100% engaged with us to plan and deliver a spectacular afternoon. Everyone who attended went out of their way to tell us how much they enjoyed the food, the atmosphere provided by the venue, and of course, seeing and spending time with friends and family. One of the many fantastic benefits we experienced at the Valley Rock Inn was it is so close to home. In fact, its in our hometown! We could think of no better way than to celebrate Dads 80th than in the town where hes lived for those 80 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Michael Bruno for his vision-turned-reality in Sloatsburg and to Cristian Bacauanu and the staff at the Valley Rock Inn for making the day so special for our Dad!
What a lovely discovery-nestled in the least expected location are a beautiful restaurant, a lounge, a hotel, the magnificent grounds - all in one. A welcoming and friendly staff, delicious food, a nice selection of draft beers makes this place worth of long wait list. Highly recommended!
Great drinks at the bar while waiting for a table. Tables were disinfected between visitors. Parking lot had plenty of space and walking the grounds was very enjoyable. Food was delicious and presented well and enough heaters to make outdoor dining on a cold foggy day more then enjoyable. While you wont see typical liquor on the shelf it us loaded with local spirits that are far beyond in quality. Great to see this revival. Reservations were a cinch online. The bar was beautiful and the discipline of the staff is invisible but prominant when you realize everything was neat, clean, in its place and nothing a burden on the guest.
Trying to find a venue short notice, outdoor, Covid safe, with high caliber food and a beautiful setting was not an easy task but Valley Rock Inn fit the bill perfectly. Cristian, Samantha and all of the staff bent over backwards to make our daughter’s bat mitzvah the magical evening she envisioned. When rain threatened to ruin our plans, Cristian offered several alternatives and let us wait until the very last moment to decide. We had a beautiful ceremony in the gallery and then the skies miraculously cleared and had a stunning sunset as the backdrop for our dinner in the rose garden. The grounds alone are reason to visit Valley Rock. It’s like stepping into a secret garden. We also rented houses on property so our daughter and her friends could have hair and makeup done and then had our family spend the night. Each home has been meticulously renovated with top of the line finishes and is decorated with stunningly unique and curated pieces. The food was top notch, which is not always the case when serving a large group, and the chef and his team were beyond accommodating for our guests with food allergies. The weekend was made complete with a private brunch poolside with something to please everyone (highly recommend the lobster rolls and quiche)!Throwing a party is stressful, throwing a party during a global pandemic is a whole different animal and The Valley Rock Inn went above and beyond to not only bring our vision of the night to life but by helping us celebrate safely. I cannot thank them anymore!
Our wedding venue was utterly amazing like a “fairytale” weekend!!! The house and wedding guests raved about the awesome food, unique beauty of the property, comfort, and exquisite décor. The accommodations were first class and our wedding weekend felt like a dream come true. The wedding day was amazing, we basically walked in and everything discussed during the planning was executed with great attention to detail. Cristian the Director of Sales, Samantha and the entire staff did a fantastic job! They exceeded all our expectations, and we are truly thankful for making our wedding event so memorable; they deserve a standing ovation!! Special kudos for the open bar and the tabletop decorations; it was an honor to have Laurie preparing the best cocktails to impress our guests and Danna assembling sophisticated and romantic wildflower arrangements with candle holders. Totally recommend Valley Rock Inn if you want to have the best wedding. They really pamper you! John & Naidu
After postponing my daughters wedding on two separate occasions, we were finally able to have her wedding on May 1st at Valley Rock. I cant say enough about this beautiful venue. The whole weekend was magical. The staff, the food and the support through out the planning process was excellent. Thank you to Cristian, Samantha and the whole team at Valley Rock for helping to make this dream come true wedding possible.
Simply amazing!!!!!!! One of the best dining experiences in awhile. I had the tuna blt. It was very good. The wind selection is perfect. Their signature drinks were tasty. I had the blood orange sour. The wait staff were professional they did not rush us or keep us waiting. This is a must do restaurant and I will do again!!!
Valley Rock will always have a special place in my heart. Last weekend, on May 22, my husband and I got married on the property. We had to postpone our wedding from July 2020 to this year and I cannot say enough positive things about Valley Rock during that experience. Everything about Valley Rock is 5 stars (I would give more than 5 stars if possible) their food.. INCREDIBLE, their property...takes you to a different part of the world, their houses...I would live in any of the houses, and the staff....the most accommodating and genuine people. Everyone there took care of us and I look forward to continuing to go back to Valley Rock whenever we can!
This little oasis is a true gem. I dined with loved ones last weekend and everything blew me away: from the service and atmosphere to the cocktails and food. Don’t miss out on the pizza, the dough is truly addictive. The grounds are intimate yet beautifully manicured — get your camera and smile ready.
I had my wedding at the Valley Rock Inn and it was absolutely magical! Cristian and Samantha were very helpful throughout the whole process and talked us through every detail. The staff at the Inn was beyond attentive and everything about the food and bev was delicious! We stayed at the lovely guesthouses on-site with family and the wedding party which were amazing. The wedding turned out to be beyond what we could have ever imagined! Thank you VRI!!
Incredible ambiance. Prices are outrageous, $20 for a burger plus you have to pay an $8.00 resort fee per person to eat there. The resort fee is shameful! ($28.00 for a burger? Add a $6.00 tip and you’re up to $34 for a burger!!!!!!!) Only because it’s so beautiful I would return if they get rid of the ridiculous resort fee.
Unfortunately I came here with my family to eat brunch. We walked past two hostesses that were too busy with their cell phones to notice we needed to be seated.Diana finally came out after waiting for a table. She then lied and said there were no tables available, even after there was plenty of seating.Did not appreciate the unprofessionslism and wont recommend or be back unless the restaurant would like to make this correct.
Buyer Beware!! Valley Rock charges $8.00 PER PERSON! for a resort fee. If there are six people in your party, your fee is $48.00 (6x$8.00) before you even order!! Hey Valley Rock, you are in Sloatsburg, NY, not Grand Cayman. The management of Valley Rock should return all their COVID relief stimulus money and then close down. To top it off, the food is just alright. My advice, go next door to Rhodes Tavern, they are not crooks, the food is better and they appreciate your business.Stay away!!
The food was very basic but surprisingly good. I do think the place is overrated. Its pricey but if you have money its not an issue. In order to get to your table once youre in the restaurant you have to walk through about 60 feet of crushed white gravel. You might think Im being petty but its guaranteed to damage your ladies expensive shoes. I dont see the beauty in this. It creates dust and frankly a turn off. If you dont visit this place youre not missing out. I suggest going to Blue Hill in Tarrytown or in Chappaqua Kittle House, now thats quality. Oh one other thing I saw a lady walking from the bar to her table and the kid they hire pointed at her and in a rude manner told her to put her mask on. Mind you the lady had a drink in her hand and was sipping it and walking at same time. The lady politely sad Im seated right there and pointed to her nearby table. I witnessed this because the kid that was seating us did it. You think with the price youre paying they would hire adults with common sense.
The two stars are for the staff who were very attentive, helpful, and friendly. The food was OK. The tuna BLTwas a bit underwhelming. The side salad that came with it was well seasoned and quite good. The crab cake appetizer was nice as well the caesar salad. The Bronzino fish was under-seasoned, although on the plus side the portion was decent. A big mark against them is the $8 per person resort fee thats mentioned on the menu to help pay for the speakers (pumping boring/soulless Buddha-Bary techno), the heaters, and landscaping. A table of four is an added $32 (the price of an extra entree) which is ridiculous. Just bake those costs into the menu, but dont tell us about it.
6 of us 50.00 for heat outside. Not even a heater per table. You should be happy to have us during these times. Bellinis were awful. Maybe 4-5 ounces couldn’t taste fruit. $$$ The worst. I know difficult times. But rain coming in on us at times and 8.00 each for heat not protection from side. Charged for 2nd cup of coffee really? Took bill away to add it. Pretty place could be so much better.
While the people who work at the Valley Rock market are always very sweet the prepared foods are pretty gross and for the prices being charged at this place its really inconceivable that the food should be anything other than great. An undercooked chicken, over cooked, dry chicken in the chicken soup, gassy brussels sprouts. All in all a VERY expensive disappointment.
This is such a beautiful space offering tranquility, style and organic eats. I love to go here and enjoy the wonderful salads, organic salmon and delicious fresh juices. The peaches I bought were the best my Mom and I had ever tasted. You can even purchase a gorgeous, unique bouquet of flowers to place on your kitchen table. I cannot say better things about this place, and I eagerly await the opening of the restaurant.
It gives me no pleasure to leave the following review as I looked forward to having an event there. I contacted and met with Emily for an event for October 24, at the end of February. I repeatedly asked for information before receiving anything. Emily agreed to certain services and a specific fee. Emily assured my guests could make their own personal pizzas and, wave the venue fee, all for a certain price. In March, Emily advised with the pandemic, did not have time to send a contract, but would send it soon. I never received anything. In June I reached out and received no response. July 4th I visited VRI, saw Emily and again she guaranteed the above discussion and would forward to me a contract. No contract was received. Second week of August, I emailed and requested a contract that day. I was advised Emily was away and was directed to Dana. Dana advised everything that I was promised could not be done. They offered salad pizza and chips for double, DOUBLE THE PRICE with added fees and beverages including soft drinks for pizza. When I responded in my disappointment, I received a response stating I would get a call. Well Dana, I’m still waiting. Disgusting way to run an establishment.
I think Id be happy to live in the pretty courtyards of this enchanting mirage and not leave for a great, great while. I never want to leave but if I dont I cannot return. Killer veggie burger and pizza. Had a pear apple dessert baked in a mini iron skillet and almost died from oral bliss. My beau and I did fork battle for the last bite. The grounds have many beautiful vignettes and they encourage my camera to life. Oh....and the lighting.....sigh. Excellent, rhythmic and flowing music rolling at a tasteful volume adds an upbeat layer of life atop the crowds hum. The decor is thoughtful and elegant and really, I want to live here. Thank you for creating this whimsical escape where there was much less before. Bravo
I wish I could write a NOVEL about how incredible Valley Rock is. I got married at Valley Rock on 10/16/2021 and it was truly the most incredible celebration. My original wedding was cancelled during COVID and we switched to VR for a COVID-safe outdoor event. From day one, Cristian and his team were kind, accommodating, classy, knowledgable, responsive, understanding, flexible and FUN! They hosted the most magnificent tasting and made the planning process as smooth as possible. We were so nervous about bad weather leading up to the event, but the VR team made us feel taken care of every step of the way. The helped us get creative, answered all of our questions and went out of their way to ensure we were still getting excited for an amazing celebration. Now, lets talk about the actual weekend!! IT WAS THE BEST!!!! Sleeping in the incredible houses on property was such a treat and every house has its own personality. The property is truly drop dead gorgeous. Taking photos there was truly a treasure. Every nook and cranny has things to be discovered and my photographer was in heaven. The grounds are impeccably manicured and well kept - the team is amazing!! I could go on and on.Now, the party - it was WOW!! The guests could not get over how stunning of a venue VR is. They are also so thrilled to know that they can come back to enjoy the NEXT LEVEL food any time by making a reservation. People RAVED about the food - which is usually rare at a wedding.I could really go on and on, but if you are even THINKING about getting married at VR, RUN DONT WALK... you wont regret it :)
This place is flawless - the staff, the grounds, the atmosphere, the drinks , the foods and even the other patrons (like myself). This place is amazing! We parked in the parking lot, walked through the market, then to the outside lounge, pass the great lawn and into the open space restaurant. A slice of wholesomeness. It was approximately 65°, we sat at the bar, cozying up with heating lamps strategically positioned to warm us to about 80°. I was sipping on a California Cabernet Sauvignon, my husband’s a bourbon base cocktail, a gentleman had a Manhattan Martini, another couple had a warm wine of some sort (similar to a mulled or spiced wine). The bartender, Micaela was great. She is socially perfect for her position. I sampled some of the cocktails she made and they were great.Eventually we forgo a table and enjoyed dinner at the bar. Started with the recommended quintessential pizza, white cheese on white crust, topped with truffle and lemon zest arugula. My favorite was the autumn pizza topped with fig and prosciutto - a wonderful blend of sweet and salt. Their crust is very organic of its style - light and yummy. And, finally came the grilled chicken with roasted broccoli and cauliflower. The chicken melted in my mouth (exaggerated but it’s the best way I can describe the texture).I will return, but not just for drinks and food. I will return to stay overnight, for swimming, yoga, lounging, etc. I will return for a more fulfilling organic and holistic stay.
If I could give 0 stars I would. As a local Sloatsburg resident I will no longer be supporting or recommending the Valley Rock Inn to anyone. We booked a table there for this afternoon and with the temperatures rising it would no longer be appropriate to sit outside at a table with my elderly parents. When we called to cancel the reservation we were told we would be charged $40 for canceling($10 per person). After hearing this we offered to still support them, but rather than sit outside take our order for take out. We were then told they do not do that. You have to be seated at a table and cancellations mess up the ability to properly space the tables for covid regulations... but with an open table you have more room between tables so I don’t see how that is relevant. We would not be able to sit outside but still wanted to support them and instead they only cared about getting our $40 cancellation fee. I would not recommend eating here and wanted to share this experience so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
What is not to love about the four season charm of the VRI? A pleasant upscale market, with the outdoor cantina serving up the finest food and beverage. As an inveterate and discerning gourmand, I must rate pizza in top 3 I’ve had all-time, and burger makes the top 7. In winter the cozy mountain feel wraps around you like a blanket. In spring, the lawn begins to burst with life. In summer the porch is a relaxing place to take in a cold beer and enjoy the energy of good music and friends. (The occasional large scale family dinners in evenings are especially well done.) And need I mention autumn, here among the burning colors of the Hudson Valley? I could go on, but I will simply leave you with the advice to visit here: soon and often — and be sure to get on their email list, which is informative for hours and special events. Weddings can sometimes close the place down, so it pays to check.
I called yesterday, more than 24 hours in advance to cancel my reservation of 9 people due to the expected downpour we were expected to receive. I was told that I would be charged $10pp as a cancellation, really...almost $100 charge for a cancellation with more than a full days notice at a restaurant. I was shocked and reached out to Manger named Dana who reluctantly agreed to my plea of at least rescheduling so I didnt lose my money. Then I got a call 5 hours before my original reservation that the restaurant is closed due to weather. Luckily it worked out for me, but thats ridiculous, be flexible in your policies, especially during this time.
Valley Rock in Tuxedo is a place to be for whatever reason you may have. Sunday chill day, party, wedding and so on. We sow what nice amenities they have. Let me tell you about our experience there. Since we ve arrived we sow only green in front of your eyes:) We had delicious cocktails and the tastiest chicken that we ever had in the US! Really!
Beautiful, expansive locale in Sloatsburg. Truly exceptional craftsmanship has made a very warm space! Visited the new Mountain Market today for a very tasty breakfast (steep cut oatmeal with berries & local maple syrup, and a breakfast burrito with thick diced pancetta, eggs, cheese & peppers), and the brewed coffee is delicious.
Valley Rock is a gem of a find with outdoor eating fully equipped with blankets and heaters for cold days. Nearby bar that Ill review separately. Soon there will be a pool and steakhouse for the four houses that can be rented for a weekend or special occasion. Theres a fruit and vegetable market and this place has so much character; make sure to bring your camera 📷.
Valley Rock Inn and Market is new to Sloatsburg and still transforming itself. A B&B destination, food truck, bike rental, art gallery, farmers market - Valley Rock offers a little something for everyone. The design lends itself to be a sanctuary sounded by the scenic Hudson Valley. From the beautifully designed garden walls and sitting areas to the water features, Valley Rock feels like an oasis. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable and the entire transformation of an area that was nothing more then housing is spectacular. Valley Rock is a must visit.
Very disappointed. Was supposed to have a celebration for a birthday, CALLED and made a reservation; called to confirm 12 times, and NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. TRIED FOR DAYS!!!!!Very disappointed. Im sure its great, too bad they have no one to answer their phones. Emailed us back with a RUDE response when we did not show. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
Repeatedly reached out to this venue for help with an event. Spoke to two people on two separate occasions. They never said they were too busy to hold my event so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Then then when I followed up for details I never got a response. I tried for several weeks. Why would I spend thousands of dollars on an event at a location where they cant even return emails and phone calls?
Tried calling for over a week to make a reservation for a larger group. No answer. Tried emailing. No answer. Tried texting the number provided on Resy. No answer. I guess it’s a good thing they didn’t answer because it probably wouldn’t have been good service if they can’t even answer their phone.

2022-06-21The grounds are magnificent! The prices are a joke! 85.00 a person for Father’s Day brunch. They posted no prices on the menu so we got hit with a bill for 276.00 for 2 hamburgers and an order of French toast. 3 people oh and by the way no drinks! Coffee was 7.00 a cup. Do visit as the grounds are truly magnificent, then run as fast as you can and get the heck out of there. Unless you want to re mortgage your house!

2022-03-20This place is pretty. It has a lovely ambience. However, I was disappointed in the food. I had the pizza. Of course, wood fired pizza is going to have burned edges on the crust, but the bottom of the pizza was also burned. That shouldnt be. Our friends pizza was the same way. Hubbys burger was okay. The dessert menu was very limited so we didnt order anything. We were seated in the bar area, which was extremely noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation. Ask to sit elsewhere. Our waitress was very good.

2022-06-21I cant say enough of how wonderful my birthday celebration was at Valley Rock Inn. The place is stunning and the food and drinks were amazing. And Cristian was so patient and helpful in the planning. It was beyond everything I could hope for. My friends and family are still commenting on how great the night was!

2022-06-17Recently visited valley rock inn- dine at cantina with my girlfriends. The place is a retreat literally.Staying there for a day or two will be a better experience. The food was a 7, and we ordered many apps and 3 entree and 2 desserts. The strange part was the servers were in a rush to pick up ur plate.. and almost like telling you finish up every few seconds. The extra 1 stars is actually for the ambience and vibe.

2022-05-21I booked two months ago a table for 7 tonight for daughters bday. I called to confirm the 8pm reservation at 6:45 tonight….. and they informed me that “we aren’t opening tonight due to a kitchen issue. Sorry…….” When I asked how I was supposed to find another reservation for 7 people for my daughter’s birthday the response was essentially “Well, you are on your own” Classy.

2022-05-29Really nice property and atmosphere, but just too expensive; $42 for a burger (after tax and tip) is obscene.Still people are paying it for now, so I guess the owners are happy. If it were 30% cheaper I would go much more often.

2022-03-04Such a special spot!! We came here for brunch with parents and despite the snow squalls we were so comfortable on the outdoor deck. It’s closed in on 3 sides and the 4th side is open air. There are an INSANE amount of heaters so you’re very comfy. We even dined with coats off. It is also so pretty and really feels like a country escape. I can’t wait to come back in the warmer weather to enjoy the rose gardens and lawn.Food was also very good. I wish they had a few more Gluten free options but the short rib tacos were good. The meat was a touch dry but with all the toppings it was still good. Husband had the burger and enjoyed and parents had the tuna blt and the short rib scramble. I noticed my dad didn’t eat his short rib so maybe his was dry too. The tuna blt was the stand out!! And truffle fries! Waffle strawberry shortcake for dessert was good too. Great cocktails, service, ambiance.

2022-05-16Food is off thr charts, and they have great cocktails. Need to book pretty far in advance for a table, but well worth it.
