Valvoline Instant Oil Change in other cities:
I come here all the time for oil changes for mine and my wifes cars and have never been disappointed. Went again recently for a coolant flush and they diagnosed a leak that I was previously unaware of. They didnt perform the flush because the system was compromised, but they still put in the work and topped me off to help me on my way to get it repaired. Ill be back! These guys are always fast, professional, and keep it real with you.
Honest, convenient, easy, fast . I have been using them since 2013 and I have never been disappointed in all services tried. I own high mileage cars throughout and have been able to quickly perform frequently services need to keep all cars in to shape. Thanks for your diligent services
I had the oil changed in my Volvo. The tech and manager looked for a filter but they were out of stock. The service tech went to a nearby auto parts store and purchased the appropriate oil filter and they got the job done. Much appreciated. Definitely over and above service. Highly recommend them.
I got a flat tire a block away from Valvoline and in a panic pulled into the first car related business i found. Of course they don’t patch or sell tires, but they were so kind and so calm- they had me pull my car into the garage while a tech went underneath to see what was going on. They identified the tire and where the hole was, told me the closest tire servicer, and filled my tire with air so i could drive to the next garage as safely as possible. They saved the day, and wouldn’t let me pay them a cent. A really top notch crew at Valvoline on Monroe. Thank you all!
I have been a Valvoline costumer for a long time and been to different locations. This is the worst one so far. I was waiting for 35 minutes and when they got me inside they made me wait another 25 minutes. I ended up leaving without getting the service done. I will never go back there again. Get your car service done somewhere else.
I usually put off getting my car serviced because I anticipate an uncomfortable experience where I will be upsold because I’m not informed enough to make the best decisions. I finally went for service on a Sunday afternoon - oil change and headlight change. Elyse (Assistant Manager) and her team were working like a well oiled machine. I could hear them communicating as they worked on the vehicles. The team members that worked on my vehicle checked in with me and provided updates regularly. Elyse answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable. It seems to me that this is the experience that Valvoline intends to provide. I have visited this location a handful of times in the past but not had an experience nearly as positive as this, so thank you to Elyse, the current team and the current management.
EDIT: Forgot to fix this review. What actually happened was I went and paid the dealership $35 to check my battery and they said my battery was reading over 700 CCA after having this Valvoline tell me it was reading 3 CCA, I called the Valvoline store back that I went to and the rep listened to me, but who knows if they actually did something regarding this issue. I also checked the battery with my own volt meter and it was giving the same result the dealer was getting. And on top of that they tried to sell me a new battery. I also had to reset the oil change reminder myself.
Ive been using this place for several years now. I drove my 2005 Honda Accord to 209,000 miles with regular oil changes from Valvoline, and now I am on my way with my new car. They are always efficient, friendly, and professional. They have even added air to my tires or diagnosed a check engine light, free of charge, on a number of occasions. This place is great.
I went in for a conventional oil change today around 4pm today and had the worst experience Ive had at a Valvoline. Almost everyone there was miserable, along with that the Assistant Manager (George) who had helped me out today didnt seem to quite know what was going on. I knowingly needed to replace my windshield wipers as my passenger side had broken, he flicked up my drivers side and said that theyre fine. Then as my oil change is in process he tells me You have a decent size oil leak. with no further information or response from him after that. Ill be happy to find another place to get my oil changed elsewhere after this joke of an oil change.
Great people, great service!Went in for an oil change & tire rotation.During the process one of my lug nuts broke.(My car is old and rusty, not their fault)At first I was a bit frustrated as it took wayyy more time than I had planned for..However; the manager not only fixed the problem, he gave me the oil change for free as an apology for the unexpected break/wait time. You can tell he truly cares about the customer and building lasting relationships!
Called to see if they were doing state inspections, was told yes and that they had someone their to do it. I told them I would be right over and when I arrived I was told the computer was down. Frustrated and zi will never use this facility. This is not the first time that I showed up and they were unable to do the service.
Valvoline is like the best fast food window..for your car.I love Valvoline because of the convenience and excellence in service every single time no matter which location. Maybe Im lucky yet Ive always had it good.Since you pull into line like a fast food place you can listen to music, call someone, or update your agenda all from the comfort of your drivers seat - without ever having to get out of your car! There was a wait last time I went and it didnt even phase me since I could get a bunch of stuff done in the comfort of my car and not in a waiting room.I relish services that dont require me to go out of my way and this is definitely the ultimate version of that short of someone coming to my house and picking up my car to get my oil change for me.I highly recommend trying out Valvoline, keep a lookout for the coupons that surface to use next time you need an oil change!
Always a wonderful experience! The folk working here are skilled and friendly, accommodating and honest. They understand that most people don’t know much about cars and don’t take advantage of this, and are honest about the urgent of any maintenance that might need to be done. If you could go a while without changing the air filter or whatever, they’ll tell you that instead of trying to upsell you and convince you to buy something you might not really need. Everyone is always friendly, smiley, and personable. Definitely the best Valvoline around!
I have never been more happy getting my oil changed. The each team member were polite and fast. You stay inside your vehical the entire time and are able to watch them work. They inform you of everything and break everything down so you know What you are paying for. Well worth the price ( with Full synthetic there were 3 options) i paid for and am very happy. I will never go anywhere else again for my oil change now.
Id never been to an oil change center like this, so I didnt know where to go or park. There was no signage showing where to go for an oil change, but a team member (Tyler) signaled to me and guided me inside the garage. You stay in your car the entire time and it takes about 15 minutes. They have a screen with two cameras showing you what theyre doing under the hood and under your car, and theres a timer showing how long your service is taking. My oil change cost $46, which was the cheapest option and is the national average according to Angies List (I looked it up later because I wasnt sure what typical rates were). The most expensive option was just above $70 I believe. They showed me the oil dipstick at the end to show that theyd filled the fresh oil up to the top. They also filled my tires for free , checked my lights, and did some basic checkups.Towards the end, they presented everything theyd found and how it compared to the recommendations from my cars manufacturer. They offered a lot of upgrades, but werent pushy about it and if something didnt need to be replaced or changed, they told me so. I even learned a couple of things about what things to check or replace after a certain amount of time or miles.
This will probably be my first and last google review but they deserve it! Ive never had an experience that was less than great but today, they went above and beyond. It was getting close to time for them to close and while they probably had much more important things to be doing, they went out of their way to ask me if I wanted them to show me how to get rid of an error light that I havent been able to figure out how to turn off since buying the vehicle. No other mechanic at any other shop in 6 years has offered to do that, or even told me that it was something that I could reset.Im a firm believer in credit where credit is due and its not just what you do, its how you do it and these employees are exceptional! Give these ladies & gentlemen promotions!
Worst experience ever! Mechanics literally do not know how to change a light bulb. I had to show them how to change the license plate lights or the car would not have passed inspection. I called and asked if my car was ready, after it had been there ALL day, and they told me it was all set. It wasnt. And they told me to take it to a mechanic because they didnt know how to change a light bulb. So I had to take the mechanic to my car to show him how to remove the back panel. It literally just snaps out and there solution was to take a hacksaw and start to remove my license plate!!!After I called corporate to complain about their incompetence, the local manager called me back and offered to send me coupons for discounts on oil changes. I asked for a refund, and he promised it would appear on my CC in 5-7 business days. Still no refund. They dont communicate and customer service is non-existent. I will never go there again, and go to a local mechanic, even if it is pricier. Lesson learned. Save yourself time and aggravation and DO NOT give them your business!!!
Very shady place. In short: purposefully drained my battery so they could try to sell me another one, with a number of other mistakes. My wife and I brought our cars to get the oil changed. The fact that they mixed up which one of us drove which car was an innocent mistake ... but then they came in and didnt discuss the price or options with regards to oil, and made it seem like their choice was a done deal. When I tried to have a conversation about it, the explanations I got were poor and authoritative. My wife chose not to get her oil change there, though I went ahead with my own car. The kicker was that when I sat in my car, after everything was done, MY BATTERY WAS INEXPLICABLY DEAD. Or rather, there was a sound explanation, if a vaguely horrifying one -- they turned on my lights, turned my windshield wipers on, and drained it completely. They then informed me about how they could get me a new battery. This is insane. The battery is fine; they tested it, and when it was clear that I was really suspicious about the whole thing, they started backing off. Maybe other Valvolines are better, but I recommend that you do not trust this place; I wont be going there again.
I am now out $666.17 for an oil change at the Monroe Ave Rochester, NY Valvoline. They dropped my part, broke it, tried to force the broken pieces together, lied to me saying there was no problem, told me they would have to get my car out of the bay because they needed to service other customers. My car had no oil, I was awaiting a tow to take me to my dealer to have my car repaired. I have never been treated so poorly. I was told to contact customer care, after being refused the name or number to speak to a manager. I did so, filed a claim, and was told I would be contacted within 24 hours. It is now 7 days later and have not been contacted. I am writing this to warn all of Rochester NY not to use Valvoline. If you have a problem you will fare no better, I had to call them again myself. Stay turned to see if there is any resolution. 12/11/18: I did receive a check for $ 666.17 from Vavoline.
Took several guys a long time to figure out which was my fuel filter and which was my oil filter. Needless to say, I was left feeling very concerned. Not sure who was in charge but lots of employees shouting and being rude to other employees. The techs working on my car left halfway through because their shift was over (both guy under hood and guy in the pit). Why would they not have the tech that started the job finish.... The new guys took a long time to adjust to my car and figure out where the parts to my car were put by the previous tech. Poor management!!!!! Poor employee ethics, no respect for co-workers or clients. Certainly not visiting again.
Thought this might be good for a quick oil change; was rather shocked that they quoted me a price nearly double what the dealership charges. Differed getting the oil changed there - was pretty annoyed it took 15+ minutes of waiting around before anyone even talked to me about pricing.FYI, if you have a Cadillac that takes synthetic and over 5L oil, the price is $108 plus tax.My husband did get his oil changed there, and you can see his post below. Apparently they turned on his lights and windshield wipers and drained his battery?
The reason I went here was for convience. I needed to get my oil changed on my new Honda Fit and it is right down the street from where I work. I took the car in for an oil change and a tire rotation. When I drove off I didnt notice the oil change sensor had not been reset. I had to go back ad have them do that. Two days later my low tire pressure light came on. Went back a third time. They checked the tires and apparently needed to refill them again even though I was there two days ago. The technician and I use that word loosely told me that the light would go off after I had driven a mile or two. The next day the light was still on, so I went back a fourth time only to be told I would have to have to take the car to the dealership. I should have done that in the first place. I will never go back and neither should you.
This is not a reliable place to get an inspection. Have tried in the past and was told there was no staff to do it. Today, waited 1/2 hour to get in and then was told the computer was down & would be down indefinitely. No signs posted, nobody comes out to ask what you need, and you dont know what they can & cant do until you drive in. Waste of time!
Love this spot. We have both of our cars serviced here for basic stuff. The staff are always friendly and polite. They are knowledgeable and professional. The work is always done quickly and correctly. Anyone who says anything less is just being a whiny annoying customer. Period.
Got an oil change, transmission flush, and coolant flush last week. Radiator started leaking a few days later, open the hood and find a fairly large crack in the manifold spewing coolant. Call valvoline and the manager personally drives to my apartment to see the car. Takes one look and agrees to fixing it at no cost to me. I am beyond happy with how they handled the situation professionally and expediently.
My girlfriend and I went to Valvoline this passed weekend for her to get her Inspection done. She pulled in and I waited in my car to take her with me while she waited. When she pulled in she was bombarded about how she needed an oil change. She said no not today. The worker than informed her that she was over due (not true). She then said what is the worst that can happen and he said “your car will explode” and she said “No I don’t have the money for that right now.” He then proceeded to say he will give $10 off to her. She then accepted after realizing no was not an acceptable answer - choose conventional oil and the worker told her she needed synthetic (even though the car has had 172,000 miles on conventional) again she told him no to the synthetic and he disregarded the no and pushed his own agenda. The total amount was $80.39 for an inspection and an oil change (that’s with $10 off) - talk about PRICE GAUGING! On top of this all my girlfriend brought $80 cash and Valvoline said “oh wel just take another $5 off” this really shows how much they are price gauging customers.I have 2 cars and have been coming to Valvoline for every inspection and oil change I have ever gotten, as well as tire rotations and fuel injections - after this experience I will not give Valvoline another penny of my business for aggressively cornering their customers and gauging them. I will also be sure that I recommend highly people go elsewhere. This is unethical and disgusting.Valvoline needs to fix what they have done - and also stop it from continuing.P.S. they never even put the tire caps back on the tires after inflating them!
Got my oil changed and tires rotated. Turns out they neglected to screw 2 of the lug nuts on my right front tire back on. They were hanging on by a thread and the other 3 were just loosely screwed back on, causing my tire to wobble back and forth while I drove. If they had caused my tire to fall off, myself and potentially others could have been seriously hurt. I will not be back.
Well it is quick, but also involves a bit of an upsell.2 months later I noticed oil on the driveway. Visiting my local service station they pointed out that the oil plug was loose and dripping and that the engine had been overfilled. Also note that they do not do real service - just specific services that they offer - and are eager to do. e.g they do a serpentine belt inspection cause theyre in the business and said mine was fine (although my car is one of the few that does not have one); eager to change my transmission fluid although the mfg.s service schedule does not call for it. If you want real service go elsewhere. where an actual mechanic looks at it.
Took my girlfriends 2013 leased Honda here for a quick inspection and they failed it for dumb unnecessary things like a windshield wiper and like one of the tires tread being a little low. Was a waste of $21 for them to make up things to sell me to pass it. I just took it to a meineke immediately after and it passed no problem.
WOW!!!!....No appt....In and out c oil and filter change as short as 20 minutes....no longer than 45 minute wait showing up unannounced or without an established appt....Workers bilingual English & Spanish a plus concerning communication about process at hand!!!....Outstanding!!!....Brought in 2 vehicles in 1 afternoon living 35 minutes outside city center....this summer and just recently....Thank you!!!

2022-02-22Might be the first time I have ever had fun getting the oil changed. Super, super nice guys (David, Michael, and Trey, and the guy under the car). More than helpful. If I had any friends I would definitely recommend they go to this place.

2022-03-25I went for an inspection and tire rotation on my 2018 rogue. To make a long story short last year when I got an inspection I needed a wiper blade which was quite weird I had just gotten new ones, not cheap ones all seasons 24.99 apiece this year, this Winter I bought brand new wipers. I just went in for inspection and ironically I needed another wiper to pass inspection its like they always have to get you for something else meanwhile nothing was shown to me the service wasnt done in front of me and I checked my wipers my wipers werent ripped so how did I know he didnt rip it? I asked for the wiper when I left considering I didnt see nothing all I know is I have new wiper blades and the rip on it was absolutely ridiculous thats something that could have been done when feeling for the wiper oh let me just lift it a little from the end....long story short I waited an hour Just to get charged for a wiper that I did not need , .Just to pass an inspectionthey take advantage of women point blank. Service is Slow ,disorganized cant handle the volume that enters.

2022-04-15Do not go to this place for an inspection. They failed my wifes car, a 2020 with 25,000 miles, on tires! They scrape the sticker and dont even have tires to sell her! What in world are you trying to accomplish by this? She goes to the next shop and they say tires are fine for another year. Still need inspection and no sticker on the car. Thanks Douglas, Mgr, Valvoline...you had a bad day today.Forgot to mention no 10 day sticker given. Terrible.

2022-03-06At Valvoline, you get what you pay for, and thats convenience. Sure theyre going to charge you more for just about everything...oil, filters, batteries, you name it. The benefit is that you can relax in your car and chill the entire time. So, expensive, but worth it.

2022-04-07Tried to get a NYS inspection and oil change. 1st time an inspector was not there, come back tomorrow. Came back, he was on extended lunch, come back at 3:30 he’ll be doing inspections until 5 today. Came back at 3:30, oh we stop doing inspections at 3:30. Bunch of idiots.

2022-03-02Never got service done. Needed and inspection and they gave me the lead around for 3 days telling me to come back and never answering the phone.the second time I went in I talked to the manager and he told me to call them in the morningEven though they again never answer, guy never made eye contact with me the whole 5 minutes felt like I was talking to someone that knew they were about to feed me garbage. Called the service center and the operator told me they were notoriously the worst location with tons of complaints and that was from the company!
